[0:51]the fifth of jamadi in the fifth year after hijra marks the
[1:02]birth anniversary of sayyidah zainab the granddaughter the first granddaughter of rasulullah
[1:16]and the daughter of amir al mu'mineen ali ibn abi talib and
[1:22]fatima tazara this great personality sayyidah played a very vital role in
[1:39]carrying the message of imam al hussain al hussain and preserving the
[1:47]message of imam al hussein after the event of ashura and being
[1:54]that she carried the message of imam al hussein that means that
[1:59]she carried the message of islam because the message of imam al
[2:02]hussain was the message of islam the message of imam al hussain
[2:06]was the message of and it was on the shoulders of say
[2:14]the zainab to carry this heavy task that the prophets of allah
[2:23]were instructed to carry the imams were instructed to carry but then
[2:28]we see that after the event of ashura for a brief while
[2:33]sayyidah zaynab was carrying that burden and that task and that responsibility
[2:39]along with her nephew imam zain al abideen and this is why
[2:45]sayyidah zaynab is remembered not just because she is the daughter of
[2:53]amir al mu'mineen and the daughter of fatima tazara and the granddaughter
[2:57]of rasulullah in islam family relations do not carry that much meaning
[3:05]what carries meaning is the actions of the individual is the belief
[3:12]of the individual the sacrifice of the individual and when we look
[3:16]at the life of sayyidah zaynab we see that that's what she
[3:19]was a person who sacrificed so much a person who gave so
[3:25]much for the sake of haqq for the sake of righteousness for
[3:29]the sake of the imam of her time and to carry the
[3:35]message of islam islam does not look at people because of their
[3:41]relationship otherwise if it's just because someone is related to the prophet
[3:47]then abu lahab abu lahab is the uncle of the prophet what
[3:51]does the quran say about abu lahab allah curses abu lahab who
[3:57]is the uncle of the prophet so family relations do not carry
[4:02]that much weight in the religion of islam why because the religion
[4:06]of islam focuses on the individual action i can't come and say
[4:14]i'm from this family i'm from this tribe i'm from this community
[4:19]and i should be favored and i should be honored and respected
[4:23]more just because of my family no allah is not going to
[4:27]look at our families in fact the day of judgment allah subhanahu
[4:31]wa ta'ala describes the day of judgment families are going to escape
[4:49]and run away from one another this person is going to not
[4:55]want to associate himself with his parents with his mother the mother
[5:00]she will drop her child why because allah says every single one
[5:14]of us will be preoccupied with our own test no one's going
[5:20]to look at the test of others in fact there's a hadith
[5:23]that says that on the day of judgment the father they will
[5:29]he will come and he will tell his son oh my dear
[5:32]son i don't have enough good amal let me take from yours
[5:38]and then the son will reply to his father he will tell
[5:41]him i don't have any good amal either but i have bad
[5:44]amal let me let you carry my burden but then allah subhanahu
[5:50]wa ta'ala says family relations don't carry much our tribalism our community
[6:01]our nationality will not carry any weight on the day of judgement
[6:06]it's all about the actions and this is why we revere sayyidah
[6:10]zaynab this is the reason now that does not mean that family
[6:15]did not play a vital role to make her who she was
[6:19]and this is something that we will discuss but sayyidah zaynab after
[6:27]the event of ashura she did not only take on the task
[6:31]to protect the family of imam al hussain but she took on
[6:34]a much greater and much more difficult task and that was to
[6:38]protect the message of imam al hussain because imam al hussain he
[6:43]gave his life for the sake of the message not for the
[6:46]sake of his family he sacrificed his family and himself for the
[6:50]sake of the message and say the she preserved the message of
[6:56]imam al hussain this is what makes her so great and such
[7:00]a revered personality now tonight i want to discuss three main points
[7:09]first of all how did sayyidah zaynab a person who is not
[7:17]a masoom she's not an imam but her family members were masoomin
[7:22]her family members were imams they were chosen by allah how did
[7:26]sayyidah zaynab come to where she was because of her upbringing because
[7:33]of the household that she grew in because of the family that
[7:37]she was nurtured in this is the first point and the second
[7:41]point we will discuss how sayyidah zaynab was not limited because she
[7:48]was a woman she was not limited because she was a female
[7:53]and being a woman is not an excuse to limit yourself from
[7:58]reaching your highest potential and third the lessons that men and women
[8:04]today learn from to stand against the injustice that we face during
[8:11]our time so the first point is that sayyidah zaynab became who
[8:21]she was because of the upbringing and the upbringing plays a very
[8:27]important role and we are not surprised to see sayyidah zaynab became
[8:37]who she was when she grew up in a house she was
[8:40]born in a house where is the father is the mother and
[8:51]who the angel archangel jibrail descends upon rasulullah in that household rasulullah
[9:00]is the grandfather you're not going to be surprised to see how
[9:05]zaynab turned out to be allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes that house
[9:09]the household of prophethood the household of the al bayt this is
[9:42]the household that zaynab grew up in she opened her eyes to
[9:46]see fatima to zahra alaihi salam carrying her feeding her providing for
[9:55]her and of course that had a very great impact on sayyidah
[10:04]zainab you know we have one of our scholars one of our
[10:09]scholars by the name of sheikh mortaval ansari this great scholar every
[10:16]person who goes to the hausa every person who wants to study
[10:22]the islamic knowledge they have to go through his book and he
[10:27]has two books one in the fiqh and one in the usul
[10:30]so in anything in any expert expertise that you become and you
[10:35]go into you have to read his book sheikh mortad al ansari
[10:39]he became the grand of his time and when he became the
[10:43]grand of his time they came to his mother his mother was
[10:48]in a small village in iran they came to his mother and
[10:53]he was in najaf they came to his mother and they told
[10:56]her congratulations your son just became the he became the grand of
[11:02]his time she told them i'm not surprised they told her your
[11:08]your your son your son sheikh murtagh al ansari he became the
[11:15]grand merger how are you not surprised only one person gets chosen
[11:20]and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gifts this individual that responsibility and that
[11:27]position she tells them i'm not surprised they tell her how are
[11:33]you not surprised what did you do she says because of what
[11:36]i had to go through and the way i raised him i'm
[11:40]not surprised that he came out like that they told her what
[11:45]did you do when you were raising him she says when i
[11:49]was pregnant when i was pregnant many years many decades ago when
[11:54]i was pregnant on sheikh mortava every time i fed him every
[12:00]time i suckled him i would go and do a duw i
[12:04]would make sure i was in the state of purity in the
[12:07]state of wadoo now today doing wadoo is very difficult even though
[12:12]it's very easy now imagine at that time living in a village
[12:16]where resources and having water accessible water is not available in the
[12:22]middle of the night in a cold area but she was in
[12:27]the state of wadu every time she fed him and her son
[12:32]turned out to be sheikh murtagh al ansari now what about sayyidah
[12:36]zainab who her mother is fatima to zahra who is purified by
[12:41]allah rich her father is amir al mumineen her grandfather is rasulullah
[13:00]the narration says that the day sayyidah zainab was born fatima to
[13:08]zahraat she came to and she told him what are you going
[13:13]to name her she's a daughter you have a daughter what are
[13:16]you going to name her amir al mumineen replies i will not
[13:20]name her before rasulullah names her rasulullah will name my children just
[13:27]like he named all of the children of amir al mumineen and
[13:31]fatima to zara so rasulullah came and asked them to name her
[13:40]rasulullah named her zainab now zainab one meaning of zainab is a
[13:48]flower or a beautiful tree or a flower and another meaning for
[13:53]zainab is zainab the adornment of her father and this is exactly
[14:00]how she was she was the adornment of her father amir al
[14:05]mumineen and she had a very strong relationship with emir al mu'mineen
[14:14]sayyidah zaynab she lost her mother and her grandfather at a young
[14:21]age and amir al mutmanin he also lost the closest people to
[14:25]him when was at a young age they lost and then she
[14:32]lost her mother fatima but she learned and she inherited the qualities
[14:41]from her family from rasulullah she inherited how to be strong and
[14:50]resilient despite all of the tests and all of the challenges that
[14:55]she goes through from her mother she picked up the bravery to
[15:01]go out and speak in face of injustice in face of tyrants
[15:08]speaking truth to power and from amir al mumineen she picked up
[15:14]the eloquence the balaga and she used that balaga the eloquence of
[15:20]amir al mumineen in the court of and in the court of
[15:24]yazid and second she picked up the patience being patient in the
[15:32]face of calamities she inherited the challenges and the difficulties of her
[15:47]time but she faced them with the patience of amir al mumineen
[15:53]ali ibn ali alaihi salam muhammad this was the first point the
[16:06]role of the family the role of nurturing the the role of
[16:12]parenting and parenting plays a very important role people don't just become
[16:19]great for no reason it's because of the dedication and the hard
[16:24]work of the parents today if you are successful your success goes
[16:29]back to your parents your success goes back to your family the
[16:33]struggle that they had to go through taking you to school educating
[16:39]you having you be educated in islamic knowledge and i mentioned this
[16:44]last week islamic knowledge today our kids go to school and they
[16:49]come home where are they going to learn about islam where are
[16:52]they going to learn about the quran where are they going to
[16:55]learn about the religion of islam and their values maybe in communities
[17:01]back home in muslim countries you say i don't need to do
[17:04]anything they go to school from society from the community they learn
[17:08]but today every parent has a responsibility to teach to nurture to
[17:17]help to raise and it's a sacrifice it's not easy the second
[17:23]point is sayyidah zaynab was a female sayyidah zaynab was a woman
[17:32]living in and we could say a patriarchal society even though the
[17:37]religion of islam is against patriarchy but at that time it was
[17:43]a patriarchal society sayyid she managed to reach her highest potential she
[17:52]managed to speak against injustice to speak against tyranny to carry the
[17:58]message of islam to carry the message of rasulullah the message of
[18:02]amir al mu'mineen in a society that limits the woman but a
[18:10]believing female a is not stopped by her society she's not stopped
[18:17]by her culture because she has role models today there is the
[18:25]misconception that the religion of islam is against women and the religion
[18:30]of islam does not allow women to reach their highest potential and
[18:34]to contribute to society to the community to the religion of islam
[18:37]this is not true this is the excuses that are being brought
[18:43]up by certain people who don't want to do anything or cultures
[18:49]they are they are what limits people and individuals because we look
[18:53]at the religion of islam three women played a very vital role
[18:58]during the era of rasulullah imran and the imams who were these
[19:02]three women the first is khadija if it wasn't for khadija would
[19:08]islam be delivered to us the way it is today no khadija
[19:12]played a very significant role and rasulullah many years after khadija passed
[19:18]away rasulullah would constantly show appreciation and thanks to khadija second fatima
[19:26]zahra who in the upcoming weeks we will commemorate the martyrdom of
[19:31]fatima zahra and the role that she played in preserving the religion
[19:36]of islam preserving the quran preserving the sunnah of rasulullah and preserving
[19:41]the imamah and third sayyidah zaynab is a role model for women
[19:50]and men of course but she is a role model especially for
[19:55]women no lady could say i cannot speak and i should not
[20:01]speak and i'm limited when we have two very important women in
[20:07]our faith especially the followers of the ahlul bayt who spoke truth
[20:11]to power who spoke against injustice who spoke against the during their
[20:17]time fatima zahra she came out of the house and she spoke
[20:23]in front of the establishment of her time sayyidah zaynab even though
[20:27]she was in chains they had placed a chain around her hands
[20:31]that goes all the way to the neck of imam zain al
[20:34]abideen alaihi salam but while she was in chains and she was
[20:38]in the courtyard of yazid she spoke against yazid she spoke and
[20:46]she shook the foundations of the ummawi government just through her words
[20:52]just through speaking sayyidah zainab of course her role was not confined
[21:00]to after the day of ashura she was a noble a powerful
[21:05]woman from bani hashem all of the imams when they speak about
[21:10]say the zaynab even bani hashem ibn abbas when he speaks about
[21:14]say the zaynab he says she was the leader of the woman
[21:20]she was a respected figure in bani hashem but sayyidah zaynab she
[21:28]had to come out why because all of the men in her
[21:32]family were killed otherwise there was no need for sayyidah zaynab to
[21:37]come out and speak publicly in front of the men even though
[21:40]she had a vital role with the woman in her society sayyidah
[21:45]zaynab it is narrated that when amir al mumineen migrated when he
[21:49]moved to kufa sayyidah zaynab was teaching the muslim woman in kufa
[21:54]she was teaching them the quran she was teaching them their akam
[22:00]but then on the day of ashura and after the day of
[22:04]ashura she took on the responsibility and that responsibility that say the
[22:09]zaynab tukan and every single individual every single one of us men
[22:14]and women we have to take on that responsibility it's not a
[22:18]choice some women say i don't need to do anything i don't
[22:22]need to speak no allah says in the quran the and the
[22:33]female the men from the and the female they are they help
[22:41]one another they support one another how the task of in joining
[22:54]the good and forbidding the evil is not a task that is
[22:58]confined to the men in society when the men fall short in
[23:04]speaking against injustice it's woman like say the zainab that come out
[23:09]like the lioness and she starts to speak and she speaks against
[23:16]the injustice of her time this is an obligation it's not a
[23:30]choice for some women saying i don't need to no it's an
[23:35]obligation to to do to enjoin the good and forbid the evil
[23:40]they stand for prayer the order is not just upon men there
[23:56]are some men that give the impression and some women that give
[24:00]the impression that it's only the men who should have the religious
[24:03]responsibility no that's not true we all have that responsibility and we
[24:10]learn from say the zaynab as a prime example say the zaynab
[24:14]she played a very important role not just because imam al hussain
[24:21]was her brother but because imam al hussain was the imam of
[24:24]her time when imam al hussain he left medina she left with
[24:32]him when he called out when he announced in mecca that he
[24:35]is leaving to iraq she was the first in line to come
[24:39]with him and join that ka'uvan even historians say that when she
[24:45]got married with abdullah ibn jafar the cousin her cousin jafar is
[24:53]the brother of emir al mu'mineen she married abdullah the nephew of
[24:57]emir al mu'mineen so her cousin historians say that when she married
[25:02]abdullah ibn jafar there was a stipulation in the nikah in the
[25:06]aqid that say the zaynab does not leave her brothers imam hassan
[25:11]and imam hussain why because the message of imam al hassan and
[25:17]imam al hussain is not a message that only men carry it's
[25:22]a message that is carried by the men and the women of
[25:25]the ahlul bayt and until today if we follow and we love
[25:29]the ahlul bayt the men and the women both have to carry
[25:33]that message of the ahlul bayt so sayyidah zainab she left and
[25:41]she went on that journey with imam al hussain then when they
[25:46]were stopped on the day of ashura she brought her two sons
[25:51]and she told them go and fight with the imam of your
[25:54]time with your uncle and when her sons were killed sayyidah zaynab
[25:59]she kept quiet she did not show any affection she did not
[26:05]want to show any affection even though she's emotional but when her
[26:10]own two sons were killed in front of her eyes she kept
[26:14]quiet so that imam al hussain would not feel embarrassed that his
[26:19]sister lost her two sons and then imam al hussain was killed
[26:28]every one of the family members were killed what did zainab do
[26:32]they say the female is full of emotion but the female could
[26:39]also be full of love and full of and devotion she went
[26:47]to the body of her brother imam al hussain and she said
[26:51]allah muhammad oh allah accept the sacrifice of rasulullah for the sake
[27:02]of islam this was sayyidah zaynab and then they placed her and
[27:10]the woman in the family they placed them in chains they placed
[27:16]them in chains and they took them to kufa they took them
[27:21]to kufa the people of kufa were all watching the family of
[27:26]rasulullah being brought in sayyidah zainab now she has to speak now
[27:33]the men in her family are killed now there's no excuse she
[27:39]has to speak against the injustice people began to look at them
[27:44]who are they what are they what does she do the hadith
[27:50]says all she did was raise her hands look at the power
[28:07]look at the power that this lady had she did not need
[28:10]to tell them to be quiet she signaled to them to be
[28:17]quiet and everyone became quiet even the animals the cows and the
[28:31]animals they had bells on them even the bells were became quiet
[28:35]for zaynab this is the power that a lady could have in
[28:41]islam this is the power that a female can have in islam
[28:45]and then she began to speak she was taken to the courtyard
[28:51]of ibn ziyad the governor of kufa the governor of iraq he
[28:58]tells her all praises due to allah who humiliated you and he
[29:10]humiliated you and killed you and made you the family of rasulullah
[29:14]look like liars what does she reply she tells him all praises
[29:36]due to allah who blessed us and honored us that he gave
[29:41]us the prophet the prophet is from our family and he removed
[29:45]the filth and he purified our family the one who's humiliated is
[29:53]the the one who does not follow the commands of allah he
[30:10]tells her what do you see what allah he blames it on
[30:14]allah and this is what all the oppressors do when they carry
[30:17]out a crime they blame it on allah he tells her what
[30:21]do you think of what allah did to your brother and the
[30:25]rebel brother that you had she tells him all i saw was
[30:34]beauty where do you find someone say something like this all i
[30:42]saw was beauty she saw her brothers and her family members and
[30:48]her sons and her children and everyone that she knows killed in
[30:53]front of her eyes and she sees beauty why because for the
[31:02]one who has iman and allah it is a beautiful thing for
[31:06]someone to sacrifice everything that they had for the sake of the
[31:10]one that they love this is beauty she tells him and then
[31:19]she tells him she tells him and i saw beauty this is
[31:27]what i saw a group of a group of believers who sacrificed
[31:34]everything that they had for their faith this is beauty and there's
[31:37]nothing beauty nothing more beautiful than what i saw and then they
[31:42]take her to damascus they take her to damascus with the remaining
[31:49]children and women in the caravan of imam al hussein and with
[31:54]imam zain al abideen this time the journey to damascus it was
[31:57]more difficult why because when they were taken from karbala to kufa
[32:03]there were other women the women of the companions that were killed
[32:08]the women of the of imam al hussain but that journey to
[32:12]shyam it was only the ahlul bayt they had no one else
[32:15]with them only the ahlul bayt she stands in front of yazid
[32:24]she stands in front of yazid in the courtyard of yazid and
[32:29]at that time damascus was the capital she was taken to the
[32:33]courtyard of the person who was claiming to be the leader of
[32:36]all of the muslims and she spoke along with imam zain al
[32:42]abideen but she spoke in such a powerful way she tells him
[32:53]oh yazid you don't deserve for a lady like zaynab to speak
[32:58]to you you know what brought me to speak to you it's
[33:02]the difficulties and the tests it's because my brother was killed that's
[33:07]why i'm speaking to you i belittle you i belittle you you
[33:26]are nothing you do not deserve zainab to speak to you this
[33:30]is what she tells him and then she says however our eyes
[33:40]have not dried from shedding tears for imam al hussain and our
[33:49]hearts are still on fire because of what we went through and
[33:53]this is why i have to speak to a man like you
[33:59]and then she tells him you you think oh yazid because you
[34:34]have confined us and you have put us in chains and we
[34:39]don't have anyone to protect us you think that allah is favoring
[34:43]you you think that allah chose you you think that allah is
[34:46]honoring you because you are doing this to us and this is
[34:51]a lesson to every tyrant that maybe today you might be in
[34:56]power maybe tomorrow you might be in power maybe you have the
[35:00]authority today but that does not mean that allah is with you
[35:05]because allah is always on the side of the one who is
[35:09]oppressed allah is always with the in allah sometimes we see people
[35:20]being oppressed and some of us ask where's allah where's allah doesn't
[35:25]don't we say allah is just where's the justice of allah allah
[35:30]has a principle there's a sunnah that allah sometimes he allows things
[35:37]to carry on but allah does not forget one day the will
[35:43]see his day and this is what zaynab reminded yazid she tells
[35:49]him you have our you have our this is the seat of
[36:14]rasulullah and this is the seat of the children of rasulullah you
[36:18]have it right now you took it by force and now you
[36:22]think allah has chose you and then she tells him be patient
[36:31]be patient did you forget what allah says in the quran haven't
[36:53]you read the verses in the quran where allah says in the
[36:57]quran let the ones who do kuffar let them not assume and
[37:05]think that allah is favoring them because they have some power and
[37:09]they have some authority for a few days for a few months
[37:12]a few years that allah has chosen choosing them no because sometimes
[37:17]allah says sometimes allah places certain people in power so that they
[37:27]get away from allah so that they turn away from allah of
[37:33]course allah does not intentionally mislead people but the ones who choose
[37:37]to refuse the hidayah yes they might take the power yazid took
[37:43]power does that mean that yazid was chosen by allah no yazid
[37:48]allah allowed him allah did not stop him from taking power allah
[37:54]allowed things to go the way things were going and then he
[37:59]took power but that does not mean that allah made it easier
[38:03]for him in fact it became more difficult for yazid and anyone
[38:07]like yazid and then she tells him you are the son of
[38:14]the who were the they were the freed slaves when rasulullah conquered
[38:21]mecca abu sufyan and muawiyah the father of yazid and abu sufyan
[38:28]they had not submitted they were supposed to be slaves they came
[38:33]to rasulullah telling him what are you going to do with us
[38:37]what are you going to do with us we were fighting you
[38:39]this whole time twenty years they were fighting they came to him
[38:47]they told him what are you going to do with us he
[38:49]tells he tells them you are the freed slaves and that word
[38:58]he told them so sayyidah zaynabshi tells him is it justice oh
[39:07]son of the the ones who were freed slaves is it justice
[39:25]oh son of the slaves that you place your woman they're covered
[39:31]and they're dignified and they're honored and the woman of rasulullah you
[39:34]bring them out in public is this justice sayyid the she was
[39:42]able to humiliate yazid in his own palace and this is the
[39:50]role that played now my dear brothers and sisters the last point
[39:56]is what is our duty today we gather and we celebrate the
[40:02]lives of the imams the lives of the uliya but what does
[40:07]that mean for us what does that mean for us it means
[40:14]that the quran gives us permission and gives us the responsibility to
[40:20]go out and speak against injustice and we have role models like
[40:25]the woman of the ahlul bayt who spoke against injustice so what
[40:29]excuse do i have to not speak against injustice and especially today
[40:35]my dear brothers and sisters we are living in a time of
[40:38]injustice we are living in a time where if we do not
[40:42]demand our rights no one is going to give it to us
[40:46]rights they're not given sometimes your rights the rights need to be
[40:50]taken if we do not demand our rights we need to take
[40:55]them and we learn from say the zaynab no matter who you
[41:00]are you're a man or a woman to stand against injustice to
[41:06]stand against tyranny be the voice for the voiceless some people they
[41:13]cannot speak some people they do not have the power to speak
[41:18]today dear brothers and sisters alhamdulillah you all have the power to
[41:22]speak you all have the knowledge and the facts and you've gone
[41:28]to schools here you're educated here you know how to speak you
[41:32]know the system here there are people that are oppressed they probably
[41:36]cannot defend themselves but you can a few days ago we were
[41:41]all moved when we saw non muslims coming out to the airport
[41:46]in the streets and defending muslims the question is when are we
[41:51]muslims going to defend ourselves when are we muslims going to defend
[41:55]non muslims when are we going to speak out against injustice it's
[42:01]enough of saying just want to live i just want to enjoy
[42:05]my life i don't wanna have to do with this and that
[42:08]we have to speak out when we see a dalam when we
[42:12]see an oppressor the least thing that you could do is speak
[42:15]out the least thing show that you are in you disapprove of
[42:22]what that person is doing speak out speak for the oppressed speak
[42:28]for the voiceless defend defend anyone who is oppressed whenever you see
[42:34]injustice don't go beyond the side of injustice be against injustice amir
[42:39]al mumineen he tells his sons imam al hassan and imam al
[42:42]hussain he tells he tells them whenever you see a valim whoever
[42:52]that is maybe that's your brother maybe that's your family maybe this
[42:56]person's from your country from your your religion from your village if
[43:01]that person is a valim he's an oppressor be his enemy be
[43:06]his worst nightmare and when you see someone being oppressed someone that
[43:15]they cannot defend themselves go and defend them go and be there
[43:18]for them another thing we learn from and these are lessons for
[43:26]the men and women is that we should not be afraid of
[43:31]any bigot any powerful person any bully do not be afraid if
[43:38]say the zainab was in chains and she was not afraid and
[43:41]she spoke against yazid today you can also speak out do not
[43:47]be afraid of anyone who tries to intimidate you anyone who tries
[43:52]to get you to stray away from your religion to stray away
[43:55]from your faith today i see some people asking and saying maybe
[44:02]this is a time where i should not practice my religion maybe
[44:05]i should keep my religion on the down low no this is
[44:10]not the time to do that this is the time to show
[44:13]your religion i saw a very moving picture a few days ago
[44:17]in the airport in the airport one and one in downtown new
[44:22]york hundreds of people praying in the airport just a few days
[44:29]ago we were afraid to pray by ourselves in the airport today
[44:33]see hundreds of people praying in the airport what does that mean
[44:38]that means they plot and they scheme and allah also has a
[44:49]plan and allah is the best of planners do not be afraid
[44:53]to show your religion do not be afraid to show your faith
[44:57]it's not just today it's muslims yesterday it was jews before that
[45:01]it was the irish before that it was chinese people were always
[45:07]pointed out and secluded and excluded in society here in america there
[45:12]was the chinese exclusion act there was a time where the jews
[45:16]were not allowed to come there were different groups of minorities that
[45:20]came before muslims and they were subjugated to the same fear that
[45:23]we are seeing today today they are practicing they are free so
[45:32]that means that i have no excuse whatsoever to hide from my
[45:36]faith to hide from my belief and second another point is that
[45:42]we have to be optimistic we have to be optimistic we should
[45:46]not be afraid we should demand our rights and then just like
[45:54]sayyidah zaynab we have to stand for the imam of our time
[45:59]sayyidah zaynab she gave everything that she had for the imam of
[46:04]her time what have i sacrificed what have i given for the
[46:08]imam of my time the lonely imam of my time what have
[46:12]i done i have to ask myself this every single one of
[46:16]us we have to ask ourselves what have i contributed have i
[46:22]taken a few moments out of my time to come to the
[46:25]masjid to learn to educate to teach to spread awareness and finally
[46:33]we should never give up hope in allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sayyidah
[46:37]zaynab she went through all of that difficulties all of the difficulties
[46:42]the journey of imam al hussain stopped on the day of ashura
[46:46]but for sayyidah zaynab it was perhaps more difficult because she witnessed
[46:50]her brother being killed and then she had to live through that
[46:54]and she had to live and see everything else going on after
[47:00]but say the zaynab historians tell us that even on the night
[47:05]of ashura after imam al hussein was killed say the zaynab was
[47:11]sitting in that half burnt tent praying praying the midnight prayer because
[47:20]allah says he who has taqwa in allah allah will support this
[47:31]person allah will be there for this person no matter what difficulties
[47:36]no matter what challenges we are going through today we have to
[47:40]keep our faith in allah we should never give up and we
[47:44]should never give up our identity and our faith because everything comes
[47:49]to an end in this life my work my family my job
[47:53]my house everything comes to an end the only thing that will
[47:56]carry me into the afterlife is what my actions our imam that's
[48:03]the only thing that we should not compromise compromise everything else but
[48:07]do not compromise your faith in
