The fifth pillar of the Islamic faith is the belief in Judgement Day, and consequently entering heaven or hell after that. Sayed Ahmed Al-Qazwini initiates a new series which focus on this dimension, emphasising the topic of Paradise. In this lecture, we examine the necessity of asking God to grant us Paradise, and some vital benefits that arise from thinking and believing in Paradise, related to justice and hope. [0:17]an honor to be with you in this wonderful community and i

[0:21]ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to bless all of you to accept

[0:27]your are mine to accept your fasting during this blessed month of

[0:31]ramadan and i ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that we may benefit

[0:34]throughout the discussions that we will hold during the last 15 nights

[0:41]of the month of Ramadan salli ala muhammad wa ala muhammad the

[0:49]fifth pillar of isola deemed the five pillars of the religion of

[0:57]Islam is Alma and they believe in the day of judgment the

[1:05]day in which Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala will try us all hold

[1:08]us accountable and then punish us or reward us accordingly as for

[1:18]those that accept the will of allah subhanahu wata'ala as for those

[1:24]that believe in allah and as for those that follow the instructions

[1:28]and commandments of allah azza wajal the righteous the pious believers then

[1:34]Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala will allow them to dwell in the eternal

[1:39]and ultimate agenda the blessings of agenda the paradise of allah subhana

[1:48]wa ta'ala and as for those that disobey the commandments of allah

[1:51]that rejects Allah Azza WA JAL the wicked the evil then they

[1:55]will be punished in the fires of hell Gehenna so this the

[2:01]belief in el Jenna and an Nam is a fundamental core belief

[2:04]of Islam and thus it is a pillar of Islam amongst the

[2:10]five pillars of the religion of Islam and when we come to

[2:16]the Holy Quran we see allah subhanahu wata'ala speaks about al Jenna

[2:21]and and now in so many verses Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala gives

[2:25]us some of the descriptions of Al gender the beauties the delights

[2:32]the pleasures the bounties the favors of agenda are mentioned in the

[2:38]Quran Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala tells us about which individuals will have

[2:42]the honour to enter Jannah and which individuals will be denied will

[2:47]be denied the honor of entering Jenna Allah Azza WA JAL tells

[2:51]us which actions we can do in order to achieve Jenna paradise

[2:57]on the day of judgement all of this is mentioned in the

[3:01]Holy Quran and what we noticed when we read the Quran we

[3:08]noticed the Allah Azza WA JAL he excites us about the prospects

[3:11]of Jenna he encourages us to seek Jenna it says if he

[3:18]is advertising it he is marketing it to a great extent he

[3:24]shows the bounties and the pleasures and the beauties of Jenna in

[3:29]such a beautiful way so that we all say I want Jenna

[3:35]I want to enter and Jenna I want to be amongst those

[3:38]blessed individuals that will enter Jenna that will have the honor to

[3:43]experience this beautiful bounties and pleasures and delights of Jenna so Allah

[3:49]Azza WA JAL he excites the prospects he excites us about the

[3:53]prospects of Jenna he says in the holy quran rosario alam a

[6:34]I am such an individual that doesn't want the desires like a

[6:39]little bait where they didn't care about the desires the dunya and

[6:43]the Neffs they were so hard about so what's in it for

[6:48]me in gender I'm not interested in gender I'm looking for the

[6:52]spiritual I'm looking for that higher level of morality of allah subhanahu

[6:57]wa'ta'ala and the spiritual desires so why does allah subhanahu wata'ala keep

[7:02]on emphasizing on this now I'll speak more about this and how

[7:09]some Christians sometimes they object to the religion of Islam and they

[7:13]say that you Muslims your image of Islam is are all materialistic

[7:15]and our image of I'm sorry your image of heaven your image

[7:22]of heaven and paradise is all materialistic but our idea and our

[7:26]image of heaven is much greater it's more spiritual now I'll speak

[9:23]and gender and they are much greater than the materialistic but finally

[9:28]and that's what I want to speak about tonight in the remainder

[9:31]of the time that I have that when allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala he

[9:36]keeps on encouraging us about Al Jenna and he tells us about

[9:43]the materialistic beauties of Jenna the true goal of this isn't just

[9:48]about desires and temptations so that we go and we feel them

[9:51]and we enjoy them it's not about the temptations and about satisfying

[9:56]the desires it's much more than that when Allah Azza WA JAL

[10:02]focuses on gender so much how many verses in the Quran speak

[10:04]about Jenna so many how many a hadith the point isn't just

[10:09]desires and satisfying them there's a much greater goal Allah Subhanahu WA

[10:15]Ta'ala he wants us to achieve those goals through encouraging us to

[10:19]yearn for an agenda and this is what I'll speak about tonight

[10:22]inshaallah and tomorrow night's what are the purposes of believing in agenda

[10:28]and asking Allah for Jenna yearning for Jenna if my day revolves

[10:33]around Jenna thinking about paradise thinking about heaven there are many great

[10:39]benefits that I will seek through that and we will go over

[10:44]them and I'll mention four benefits maybe the fourth one I won't

[10:46]have time for tonight's and I'll leave it for tomorrow insha'Allah for

[10:49]benefits of believing in agenda and that's why Allah focus is so

[10:58]much on agenda before I mention them solemn hamid wali the first

[11:08]purpose and benefit of believing in L gender is that the belief

[11:12]in an agenda proves the justice of allah azzawajal we said the

[11:19]fifth pillar of a solid Deen is what l mahad the day

[11:41]fundamental belief it's the second pillar of Islam fully Dean now without

[11:47]my heart without the belief in elgin a the idol of allah

[11:56]remains incomplete because you see in this dunya the Justice of Allah

[11:59]Azza WA JAL isn't always established it isn't always served how many

[12:05]individuals they commit oppression woolum and they get away with it and

[12:09]the maloom does not receive justice in this world either because nobody

[12:14]knows about that Luna or because we cannot sort of justice when

[12:19]you see the dictators and the tyrants look at what alice road

[12:22]is doing right now to Yemen the oppression and nobody cares about

[12:25]it nobody cares about their many people who is giving them their

[12:32]justice Allah as though a jealous justice isn't always evident in the

[12:36]dunya where do we see the justice of Allah in the next

[12:39]life in the Ark Allah when Allah Azza WA JAL he takes

[12:44]the evildoers and he punishes them we see the justice when Allah

[12:48]Azza WA JAL takes the good individuals the oppressed those that suffer

[12:52]dumb of the Lumine and he rewards them with al Jenna this

[12:58]is when we see the true justice of Allah served and thus

[13:02]Allah says in the holy quran about the day of judgment when

[14:44]allow this injustice to happen when we see what's happening in Yemen

[14:56]all the suffering that they are seeing when we see all of

[15:00]this suffering we ask where is the justice of Allah why doesn't

[15:04]a lot intervene and stop the oppressors why doesn't he help those

[15:08]individuals that are in need now there's many answers to this problem

[15:15]of evil that are called theodicies but one of the replies that

[15:18]we give is that don't just look at the dunya there is

[15:23]the Asura as well Allah as though a general show his justice

[15:25]in the Asura whoever does one we'll take him and punish him

[15:30]in the fires of hell whoever was a month loom whoever suffered

[15:34]whoever was misfortunate in this dunya Allah assuage and we'll give him

[15:41]an unbelievable reward and that is the general so the belief in

[15:45]Allah generality of judgments it proves that allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala is just

[15:49]and he will not waste any persons hug don't just look at

[15:55]the dunya look at the Asura as well and you will see

[15:57]that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala is just so this is point number

[16:03]one why is there so many verses in the Quran Jenna Jenna

[16:05]Jenna is it just about having fun and pleasure and entertainment no

[16:10]it's much more than that it's about the justice of Allah Jenna

[16:13]means a loss of Hannah - isla is just when he speaks

[17:13]oppression of the value meal of this world for those individuals that

[17:16]have to put up with sicknesses and diseases for those individuals that

[17:23]have to suffer from poverty what gives them comfort what gives them

[17:27]hope is that one day there will be an end to all

[17:32]your miseries and Allah subhana WA Ta'ala will allow you to enter

[17:38]Jenna and you will see unimaginable bounties and beauties and pleasures and

[17:43]delights so maybe your life is terrible now but it won't always

[17:47]be terrible allah subhanahu wata'ala will save you from this one day

[17:53]so it eases the pain upon us it makes it much more

[18:00]easy for us to be strong among the sufferings and that's why

[18:03]in the moment for saying alia salam on the day of ashura

[18:07]with all the suffering he had to face they killed his family

[18:10]members they killed his children even a six-month-old baby what made him

[18:15]so strong in resilience what gave him comfort he himself said after

[18:22]they killed his six-month-old baby he said how when a man is

[18:27]ellaby and Noba Anila what gives me comfort is that allah azza

[18:30]wajal is watching and he will compensate me he will give me

[18:33]throw up he'll give me Jenna he'll give me excuse me he'll

[18:39]give me an unimaginable so up and reward for what I am

[18:41]suffering and this is what gives me consolation this is what makes

[18:47]me patient that I know after this finishes and it's very short

[18:51]and Jenna is waiting me the paradise of allah subhanaw taala is

[18:54]waiting me so this eases the pain upon the human being for

[19:01]those individuals in this world that they are less fortunate i may

[19:05]be born in africa in a very poor family and living in

[19:12]that society i have no opportunities to make my life better there's

[19:15]no schools there no good schools no good education there's no good

[19:19]job opportunities I can't go to a better country because they won't

[19:22]give me a visa I have to go and seek asylum it's

[19:26]a long process it's a very difficult process so I begin to

[19:29]lose hope why am i living what's the point of my life

[19:34]just to live for poverty and pain for individuals that are born

[19:39]with deformities for individuals that suffer from sicknesses and their day-to-day activities

[19:47]and conduct is very difficult some people they live in pain because

[19:50]they have deformities they have sicknesses illnesses it's so hard for them

[19:55]to live what gives them hope to live why should they even

[20:00]live if they were to ask me why shouldn't I take my

[20:05]life I have no prospects no chances of you know my life

[20:08]becoming better what Souza's their pain what eases their agony for those

[20:14]individuals that are suffering from the oppression of the vana me like

[20:18]we said in Yemen look at what's happening in Yemen you know

[20:25]on top of all of the all of the suffering that they

[20:27]have they have no food they don't have access to clean water

[20:33]they don't have access to health to doctors to hospitals even the

[20:39]hospitals are being bombed at by the Saudis despite all the suffering

[20:44]on top of all the suffering they're afraid any second a bomb

[20:48]will come and kill them a rocket will kill them how do

[20:52]they live there in Yemen can you imagine look at all the

[20:54]orphans there look at all of the widows every family you'll find

[20:59]they have someone that was killed in one of the air strikes

[21:02]their children you've seen the pictures sometimes they're so skinny their skeletons

[21:06]they have no access to food no water or there they're sick

[21:12]and they don't have medicine and on top of all of that

[21:15]the world does not care at all have you seen how the

[21:19]world has forgotten there are many people you turn on the news

[21:22]they tell you about everything even the silly things what that actor

[21:26]said and what that President tweeted and what he Shir said but

[21:30]there's nothing about Yemen when there's thousands upon thousands upon millions maybe

[21:35]of people starving and dying when they look at the world they

[21:41]say why should I even live I'm suffering and I'm getting killed

[21:44]and nobody cares about me as they say nobody gives a damn

[21:49]about me why should he even live there's no beacon of hope

[21:53]for these individuals allah azzawajal tells them all your lost dreams all

[21:59]your wasted promises all your disappointments and your dark deep you know

[22:07]sorrows that you have all of that will come to an end

[22:14]one day and you will forget dump and you will never remember

[22:16]all the sorrow that you faced just believe in allah azzawajal and

[22:21]do a few good deeds Allah Azza WA JAL on the day

[22:27]of judgement has prepared for you an unimaginable gender what does this

[22:30]do to the human being it eases the pain Allah tells them

[22:35]there won't be too long before this will finish you will die

[22:38]and you will move to a much better world you will move

[22:43]to a much better place a place where there is peace where

[22:45]there is safety where there is none there's only good things so

[22:50]this gives them what this gives them a beacon of hope to

[22:53]live for in this world or else why should I even live

[22:57]there's nothing to look forward to Allah Azza WA JAL gives them

[22:59]that beacon of hope a day will come in which the angels

[23:05]will open the gates of paradise and when you smell the fragrance

[23:08]we halogen our halogen the fragrance of paradise when you just smell

[23:13]it that fragrance Europe you forget all of your Agony's all of

[23:20]your hardships all of the pain all of the suffering with one

[23:22]smell it will all go away and the melodica will tell you

[24:16]I won't see it as a loss I will see it as

[24:19]a gain the hadith of imam musa alayhis salam says lo and

[25:08]pain will go away so one of the benefits of the belief

[25:13]in el Jenna is that it gives us consolation it consoles us

[25:16]and that's why even atheists my friends they admit to this point

[25:21]they admit that when you believe in religion and there is the

[25:26]day of judgement this will give you relaxation and comforts and thus

[25:31]the famous statement of Karl Marx the father of community you know

[25:35]communism who was an atheist Karl Marx what was his famous statement

[25:39]he said religion is the sigh of the oppressed of the weak

[25:46]when you're oppressed when you are suffering and you want to yell

[25:50]you you want something to give you hope what do you look

[25:53]to you look to religion religion tells you it won't be long

[25:56]before the suffering will finish the atheist will tell you you'll die

[25:59]in that's it imagine I am someone in Yemen with all the

[26:03]tyranny and aggression and suffering and I'm an atheist and there's an

[26:06]I won't receive any agent for this any reward and I'm gonna

[26:09]die and turn into nothing there's no patience anymore why should I

[26:14]live but when you believe there is agenda this gives you patience

[26:20]he said religion is the sigh of the oppressed and then he

[26:23]said it is the opium of the masses didn't he say that

[26:27]we all memorized this why did he say so the opium of

[26:29]the masses because religion makes you forget about your suffering your suffering

[26:34]but you don't really you're not really bothered by it it's like

[26:38]when you take drugs he gave the analogy of opium drugs you

[26:42]have so many problems you take drugs you forget about your problems

[26:46]it gives you comfort it gives you relaxation so even he admits

[26:50]even he's an atheist that religion the belief that there is gender

[26:55]under the of judgment there is not Allah will what punish the

[27:04]and relaxation so even an atheist accepts this point but of course

[27:08]he believes that it's a fake promise of religion we believe that

[27:26]that people are in despair people are in distress and religion is

[27:31]the sole solace religion and the belief of the Jannah is what

[27:37]gives them that peace it gives them that patience the Allah has

[27:40]no agenda we'll compensate you for everything so this is the second

[27:44]benefit of believing in an agenda is that it gives me comfort

[27:49]no matter how life is difficult one day all become much much

[27:51]better so don't be so down don't be so disturbed don't be

[27:57]so you know disappointed by what you see in the dunya because

[28:02]the dunya will pass fast and the officer will wait for you

[28:06]so this is the second benefit of believing in the gender the

[28:10]third benefit of believing in gender and why the Quran always speaks

[28:17]about the gender is because the belief in Aegina encourages us to

[28:22]do good acts noble acts you see the human being knows that

[28:30]good and Noble acts acts of kindness they are good within themselves

[28:33]even if there's no reward if I tell you there's a poor

[28:36]person here he has no food give him food give him money

[28:40]to buy food you don't need a reward to do that do

[28:44]I have to tell you I'll reward you to do that no

[28:45]you know you have after that is a good thing I should

[28:50]do it even if there's no agile even if there's no reward

[28:52]if I see an old man walking and he needs help an

[28:56]old lady I know I should help them even if there is

[29:00]no gender even if there's no reward because an act of kindness

[29:03]should be done no matter what the human being knows that but

[29:06]is this knowledge enough no because the human being is number one

[29:13]many times selfish give to the poor if I give to the

[29:15]poor my money will become less I want my money for myself

[29:20]unless there is a self-interest for me why should I help the

[29:22]poor correct the human being knows it's good to help others but

[29:29]he's selfish sometimes other times he's lazy I know I should help

[29:32]my old neighbor and he needs help you know removing his snow

[29:35]plowing the snow or raking the leaves I know my parents need

[29:40]my help to do something but sometimes I'm just lazy I just

[29:43]can't you know it's too difficult I want to just sit and

[29:47]watch YouTube watching a game I want to play video games or

[29:51]whatever so sometimes the laziness is what it's too strong so it's

[29:55]not enough that I know you know it's good to help other

[30:00]people the human being needs a more powerful enticement a more powerful

[30:05]incentive and motive this is where Allah Azza WA JAL comes and

[30:10]tells me look if you help other people if you are kind

[30:15]with other people you help the elderly you know for example build
