[0:49]of prophet Muhammad and is immaculate household Salaam a religious intellectual a
[1:01]renowned speaker Charisma check confidence check a source of inspiration for young
[1:08]and old check an influencer by being the face of insta El
[1:14]debate none other than my dearest brother said Muhammad Hassan welcome we're
[1:19]a great honored to have you here with usaid now the honors
[1:24]mind saying the Habibi that introduction was beyond unnecessary all words deserved
[1:27]and all meant thank you very happy to have your saved now
[1:33]we have had some inter enter inter intrications interrogations dialogues through Instagram
[1:42]alhamdulillah we've met you last year for the first time and since
[1:45]that we have a Brotherhood alhamdulillah a great Brotherhood and I would
[1:50]love for the newer followers the followers of the new podcast to
[1:56]learn more about The Man Behind Instagram bait a young and professional
[2:01]speaker and Scholar masha'allah who is we have a variety of topics
[2:06]we will discuss in Charlotte State and I'm really looking forward to
[2:10]it and let's begin so in my eyes and in my eyes
[2:17]of many you are an inspiring young scholar women would like to
[2:21]learn more about tell us more about said Muhammad Hassan in regards
[2:25]to your upbringing born in Iran grew up in the U.S how
[2:30]was life as a toddler in the shadow household so thank you
[2:35]for that warm introduction um alhamdulillah all praise be to Allah for
[2:40]everything you spoke of and ultimately autofik goes back to him essentially
[2:46]as you brought forth I come from an alaki background and household
[2:52]but I wasn't born in Iraq um I was born outside of
[2:58]there and this was because of the turmoil and the political circumstances
[3:02]at the time with that regime and so like many at that
[3:09]time period in the mid 90s they had to seek pastures new
[3:11]for a better life for themselves and their families and I'm just
[3:15]one of many who came in that time period so growing up
[3:22]always involved moving relocating we lived in Syria at a time and
[3:26]then we lived in Lebanon and I could say my earliest memories
[3:30]were from Syria then Lebanon I remember vividly it's a haze but
[3:35]I remember still putting my head between alvaria in Sean seeing I
[3:39]think money being confused what's going on people throwing you know that
[3:45]they have in the heart so that was always in my mind
[3:49]what's going on and then I would turn as a young boy
[3:51]I don't know if I was maybe like four or five but
[3:55]I remember seeing my father cry and I never really have you
[3:59]know had seen him in that emotional state before or prior to
[4:02]that because you're always the one doing the crying at that age
[4:05]but to see him respond that way you just planted a seed
[4:08]what's wrong he's this superhero like all children look up to their
[4:11]fathers and I hope most of them still look up to them
[4:16]in that way as well and so he began to expand from
[4:20]an early age the importance of people that came from the past
[4:24]and before lady zainab so to me growing up these were superheroes
[4:30]yes I remember I would at that time read about Spider-Man and
[4:35]Batman and to me I'm like you don't compare it to one
[4:38]my dad just talked to me about look at this man wow
[4:42]lifting a gate here saving Muslims here fighting here outnumbered here yet
[4:47]still an inspiration there and to me these were like superheroes and
[4:50]and I think that all goes back to the parents on how
[4:55]they want to present to them their Dean from an early age
[4:57]page using creative methods so that was always my source of inspiration
[5:00]but it started off with my family ultimately we came to the
[5:07]states and having been in that nurturing period that was always engrossed
[5:12]With Your Role Models being attribute and I hope many people have
[5:16]such experiences but it was really the only thing in our lives
[5:23]wow you know when it came time to a magellas that was
[5:25]an obligation when it came time to for example I remember growing
[5:29]up we then came to the states in elementary school it was
[5:33]Muharram and in that time and in many places today you don't
[5:39]get off for these special occasions well my parents insisted that on
[5:44]the 10th you don't go to school of course we were always
[5:45]happy not to go to school on the 10th or anything like
[5:48]that but it always emphasized if not subconsciously that this is very
[5:53]important and that helped the culmination of what I'm doing today with
[5:56]respect to um spreading that message through media lecturing and the other
[6:02]projects that you know there are alhamdulillah will continue to be there
[6:07]alhamdulillah beautiful as you said it beautifully with all the difficulties all
[6:10]the traveling migrating from one country to another country your parents planted
[6:15]the seeds of alibate and the love for religion from an early
[6:18]age with all those difficulties with their priorities being having a good
[6:22]life for you and your family as well saving you from that
[6:25]difficulties and bringing you to the west but they still try to
[6:30]do their best to inspire you and plant the seeds of a
[6:32]headed bait in your heart alhamdulillah now you have arrived in the
[6:40]U.S how is growing up in the West for you been uh
[6:43]life in primary school high school did you fit in just fine
[6:50]immediately or was it difficult to climatize and were you considered the
[6:53]black sheep or were you one of the guys and one of
[6:57]the children who could just fit in and be one of the
[6:59]American school children yeah I wish I was considered a black sheep
[7:04]I was like a black horse different species people wouldn't believe you
[7:07]when you would tell them you're from Iraq at the time or
[7:11]or Muslim let alone in Denver Denver uh Denver Colorado the school
[7:17]I went to just did not have that diversity which is not
[7:22]necessarily A Fault of theirs it's just people were not used to
[7:24]seeing and at the time it was pre-9 11 days and so
[7:30]it was still okay for Muslims to be seen as different people
[7:33]but not like the enemy Post 9 11 it became complicated I
[7:39]would always remember getting picked on by other classmates of my line
[7:43]you were the one responsible I saw you know it was your
[7:46]family it was this are you related to that guy that maniac
[7:50]and I'm just like lost I don't know what's well what do
[7:54]I have to do with any of this um so it did
[7:56]bother me going up but that was the extent of alhamdulillah it's
[8:00]not like I got severely bullied or anything but as a kid
[8:02]these things do get to you yeah um so you find the
[8:06]odd friend that sticks up for you when you hang out with
[8:07]them and you stay with them I would go home and tell
[8:11]my parents about some of these experiences in elementary school leading up
[8:14]to Middle School even and they would you know reaffirm that these
[8:20]people simply don't know what's going on in reality and they would
[8:23]share with me again the stories about the prophet would get abused
[8:29]by his own community and instead of asking God to condemn them
[8:32]as I would do I would be like I hope all of
[8:36]them get you know in pain and trouble as a young kid
[8:38]you just hope destruction you know that's your only solution uh well
[8:43]yeah we'll see about that and then you can easily find yourself
[8:45]in a fight yeah my parents would notice this about me that
[8:48]I had this tendency to want to see them just like get
[8:52]perished right which was not helping you if they are constantly saying
[8:56]you're the one behind all the violence Etc and here I am
[9:00]responding well like any young boy your immediate Tendencies are explosive lack
[9:04]of better words so then they would tell us like well the
[9:06]prophet of Islam would get or would be subject to abuse and
[9:10]hatred and he would say Allah forgive them you simply do not
[9:15]know so all stems from a place of a lack of education
[9:17]and that really was ingrained in my mind that if people simply
[9:22]don't know then it's up to me to make them know so
[9:23]I would come and visit them and you'd always say Saddam Hussein
[9:27]in reality there is Imam Hussain let me tell you about him
[9:31]instead so these kids at school in the sad realities most kids
[9:36]still today may not be as aware but I would show them
[9:38]that look the only person you know is is uh was that
[9:42]Maniac let me tell you of the real Hussein and at the
[9:45]time I remember saying Foundation later on at that early time but
[9:53]towards like when I got into high school they started releasing merch
[9:55]as you are wearing beautiful merch right now awaited yeah um they
[9:59]had who was Hussein and so I would wear that from time
[10:03]to time and literally these people would walk up and go like
[10:10]no let's do some more research let's talk let's discuss and so
[10:15]these were efforts of mine in the beginning because it all stemmed
[10:18]bullying is the result of the lack of Education it's up to
[10:20]us now to educate isn't necessarily their fault it's their fault for
[10:24]bullying but it's your responsibility to make sure that at least there's
[10:31]no denying the fact that they were exposed to the truth the
[10:34]jail was presented to them and so that's always been my life
[10:36]mission so you can never deny the fact that you got the
[10:40]right answer if you still decided to misbehave that you're doing not
[10:44]mine anymore so they push your buttons but in the end in
[10:51]a positive way because it inspired you yeah to follow the spat
[10:56]and Inspire them with the real Hussein yeah because they would see
[10:58]me get into almost altercations and fights and my parents were like
[11:02]that's not good respond in a manner where it would be more
[11:07]bad beneficial and you know stories of the imams would come and
[11:11]that's that would always be the foundation wow and you talked about
[11:15]being bullied and bullying and uh yeah being harassed as a kid
[11:21]but that's one of the difficulties of growing up in the west
[11:25]as a Muslim young kid who growed up is grown up in
[11:29]a Muslim household because when you come into the West you have
[11:32]to also adapt to their standards to their way of life but
[11:35]you as a Muslim have your own principles have your own morals
[11:39]own rules of course but here is it complete Freedom so you
[11:42]have difficulties sometimes Temptations sometimes maybe doubting your identity I'm different than
[11:51]the rest and what you said this was prior to 9 11
[11:56]so after 9 11 Muslims were harassed even more yeah so how
[11:59]did you cope with all these burdens or Horrors in reality it
[12:06]was more about the idea entity yeah so many people began questioning
[12:10]themselves their place on the world I remember people would change their
[12:13]names it was common to see Muhammad turn into a mo I
[12:15]think it was like I leave becomes Al and I really had
[12:19]a distaste for that I was always confident with my name you
[12:23]know Muhammad Hassan and I know some people would reduce that to
[12:26]like mohas and I didn't like that in reality it's ugly mojas
[12:30]what is that Muhammad Hassan right so I noticed where people struggle
[12:36]the most these were my observations is where they had a lack
[12:40]of identity a crisis so they had a strong identity they didn't
[12:44]see their identity Living in America and being Muslim as mutually exclusive
[12:50]they saw themselves they able to merge and marry within one another
[12:53]that you can be both a Westerner and I say American I
[12:56]mean anything you can be a Westerner and be a Muslim Lebanese
[13:01]in your ethnic origin why does that have to be a problem
[13:07]and if families would always point and say you know see those
[13:09]non-muslims those are the others yes and you know those are the
[13:12]Americans those are the black Americans whatever but then the child that
[13:18]grows up in this atmosphere sees themselves one of them and what
[13:22]makes them different from me yeah you know I enjoy the holidays
[13:24]they enjoy we speak the same language and so why are they
[13:28]distinguished and why are they different why are they something else and
[13:33]you can't be like them and the poor kid's probably born there
[13:36]raised there so there's that identity crisis there's a lack of clarity
[13:41]that they go through that led them to the struggle Post 9
[13:46]11 where even many just relinquish their Islamic identities the hijab came
[13:51]off many of them under the excuse of I'm trying to protect
[13:54]myself because yes they're genuinely we're dangerous I remember hearing things like
[13:59]the Sikh Community we're targeted because they look like you're stereotypical average
[14:02]yeah with the turban and beard wow and this is all literally
[14:07]due to jail and ignorance pure research which is a an organization
[14:11]that gathers data they came to the conclusion that most islamophobes most
[14:17]of them an overwhelming majority have never met a Muslim wow so
[14:23]they're simply recipients of what they hear on media and again all
[14:27]of these say sajad or points of observations for me if they've
[14:30]never met that means they don't have knowledge or experience if these
[14:33]people only know one version of the name Hussein they that means
[14:38]they don't have the other version of Imam so it's all basically
[14:43]goes back to the root of knowledge spread that knowledge what's the
[14:48]best way to do so media media lecturing programs but marketing it
[14:54]in a good way so if you ever Market Islam just look
[14:58]up Muslim look up Arab look up because these things are interchangeable
[15:03]sometimes Arab Muslims whatever we're a race we're not yeah all of
[15:07]a sudden you know I remember there was even I forgot his
[15:12]name though uh the the something Sheikh it was a WWE wrestler
[15:15]okay he's originally Iranian but because I don't know if you know
[15:20]who I'm talking about no no I don't know but because people
[15:23]don't know beyond just the Arab world in some parts of uh
[15:27]of the West they made him part of his outfit was that
[15:31]he wore the traditional Arab yeah but the guy is a Persian
[15:37]Persian yeah all right well they're like no people want it's too
[15:39]complicated you look like them just you're all the same thing we'll
[15:41]just leave you in the same bucket this is just literally ignorance
[15:44]people are um remember the famous phrase let's not be you know
[16:01]a name for their children as we call them Jihad kids why
[16:03]because they don't have the experience of the Elder Elder right so
[16:08]let's give them experience then let's change the days of yeah so
[16:12]the days of end knowledge a Renaissance of of knowledge and I
[16:16]think that's the core Message of Islam and I'm going to divert
[16:22]and this might sound a bit odd of Imam and I think
[16:28]of Imam he goes to this far away place and he's not
[16:31]complacent and he just sits down he changes the atmosphere he was
[16:35]always a source of inspiration wow I have to be honest so
[16:37]I gotta give credit where credit is due right this of course
[16:40]it goes without seeing the holy prophet of Islam from Mecca Medina
[16:44]but that would be with their experiences many of them can be
[16:49]very relatable to your own distinct experience in life Wow for us
[16:53]taken away somewhere he doesn't want to be you know this is
[16:57]by force at one point um compelled in an area where the
[17:00]majority of people are not related to him don't know him are
[17:06]not practicing his way but managed to say that I won't let
[17:08]this be the case I will change the science I will be
[17:12]the change of my region and alhamdulillah this was like a mantra
[17:16]of ours be like the example and in a region that's devoid
[17:24]or rather void make it filled with that principle of life liberty
[17:28]the pursuit of happiness with a Twist of that's a way of
[17:36]thinking and a way of putting things perspective really would make you
[17:42]think another thing said now with you would nowadays in the west
[17:45]we talked about you but you'd nowadays alhamdulillah you turned out more
[17:51]than fine I hope so I don't know man I don't know
[17:52]about that definitely definitely inspiring in the local Department We can question
[17:58]that I like how you're going to deny that way but you'd
[18:05]nowadays the relationship between youth Muslim youth with a Muslim background Muslim
[18:11]household and with their religion the relationship the connection with the religion
[18:19]with religious Authority the ulama the scholars the jurists with their mosque
[18:22]their Islamic centers is a little bit vanished it's gone there is
[18:30]a Gap a disconnection I think there are many uh causes of
[18:37]this and I would like to see your take on this as
[18:39]well because in my opinion over the years the attraction of Islamic
[18:43]centers and the religion in general for Youth and children has stagnated
[18:49]and even made a downfall although we have the resources nowadays we
[18:53]have social media we have Internet we have all the resources to
[18:56]investigate and to get more in depth with our religion we have
[19:00]access to our Scholars via online how I met you was online
[19:08]alhamdulillah but the youth who have more skills in regards to all
[19:11]these resources in regards to social media in regards to getting in
[19:15]touch with someone in on the other side of the world in
[19:19]China and Africa they don't have this uh eager will to connect
[19:28]with their religion be it with a Authority be it with a
[19:34]Islamic Center how come satna first point do you agree with me
[19:38]do you see this as well or is it just in my
[19:42]in my community no no no this is in the west as
[19:46]it is in the East where you see with the progress of
[19:52]time a symptom with that is the lack of involvement in areas
[19:56]concerning religiosity in general um God is something that is more questioned
[20:01]as a the concept was yeah like before um people are in
[20:08]attendance to other things more than they are in the massage it
[20:11]for example this is a common phenomenon why is that the case
[20:15]um for a few reasons the influences that are out there are
[20:20]very powerful and they're funded and number one they're attractive they engross
[20:25]a lot of support and sponsors whether it's in media is it
[20:29]in sports there was a day you could watch your favorite football
[20:33]team as you call it here and not see political influences or
[20:37]social influences now you can not watch your favorite club or Team
[20:40]without seeing a flag that goes against all of your principles ethically
[20:47]morally for example I'm here to enjoy a match why are you
[20:50]shoving this big influenced yeah not here what do you like you
[20:55]know subconscious subliminal messages let me just enjoy the the game the
[20:58]match the whatever um so it's all over and so these are
[21:01]some reasons it's a whole host like it takes a village to
[21:07]raise a child it takes a system and a country in countries
[21:10]to change the populace and so these things come together and as
[21:15]a result of this you do see the lack of relationship between
[21:20]use of the youth and the scholars with the massage it I'm
[21:23]not here just to point fingers at outside third party forces many
[21:28]times we also need to if you're pointing fingers you have three
[21:30]pointing back at you of course ask yourself why is it the
[21:34]case are you not catering to them there are many programs and
[21:36]events that don't cater to the language of the youth what might
[21:39]care to the language of the elders the parents of the youth
[21:43]and that's not a big deal but the one who will carry
[21:44]the generation to come will be the youth at the end of
[21:48]the day there should if they don't know the language then you
[21:49]should know their language the Paratha of Islam is called he knows
[21:55]your language he is obligated to know you and what you speak
[22:00]and not the other way around yes but we have the messenger
[22:02]of God speaking the languages of those out there who did not
[22:05]necessarily speak Arabic we see examples of the Imam they do this
[22:09]um in many cases it's an indication that you have to go
[22:14]out of your way to to make the change if our centers
[22:19]and our Scholars do not adopt the idea of catering for them
[22:23]as opposed to accepting or expecting that they will cater to you
[22:27]then that's not going to make any progress the scholars the speakers
[22:31]I speak to myself know what they want what they're interested in
[22:35]cater to that yes it might not be the most appropriate thing
[22:41]but work around it music maybe blanket Haram but bring a lecture
[22:46]talking about music and why for example it might be problematic and
[22:53]is there just as an example examples of alternative Halal music or
[22:56]things like that that'll drag some people to attend this is a
[22:59]very Rel you know relatable common um relevant issue but you can't
[23:05]do that unless you know the issues that they deal with on
[23:07]a daily basis so that's one example other things are identity issues
[23:10]we spoke about the identity crisis so and especially the language barrier
[23:15]year that's a major one I know a father back in America
[23:18]he doesn't know English the son doesn't know Arabic they never communicate
[23:22]but they live with each other that doesn't know English the son
[23:26]doesn't know Arabic wow so it's like how do you have a
[23:30]healthy relationship in that situation you really can't they're just like sign
[23:34]language I don't know you know it's like our love language is
[23:39]food he feeds me I buy him food back but that's that's
[23:41]obsolete you need more than that man yeah um and that's just
[23:45]at the house level what about the community level so it's a
[23:49]big responsibility indeed but these things can be addressed and inshallah with
[23:52]due time we can speak about some ways and do you think
[23:58]you said very bravely that the elders also have a responsibility in
[24:01]as well as the religious Scholars and authorities but who has the
[24:05]main who has to push the buttons to get the mechanism to
[24:10]work because the first step is I think to attract these youth
[24:13]to the mosque because they are disconnected yeah and I think one
[24:17]of the causes also a lack of Role Models concerned a good
[24:22]role model who they can relate to because I am born and
[24:24]raised in the Netherlands in Rotterdam I look up to my local
[24:30]football club Heroes I look up to Messi Ronaldo to people I
[24:32]see shine on social media from a materialistic perspective from what I
[24:37]think is important because Instagram has taught me money is important going
[24:41]on uh expensive holidays important having expensive cars and luxuries important but
[24:47]I don't see my scholar have that on social media my scholar
[24:51]doesn't have even have a social media account if he has he
[24:57]doesn't portray himself in a way that attracts the youth nowadays yeah
[25:02]yeah so the responsibility you can bring water to a horse but
[25:06]if a horse is not interested in drinking it will not drink
[25:10]it yes I think the ultimate responsibility goes back to the individual
[25:14]you can bring the most resources the best influencer like the other
[25:18]dates who's better than them but there are still people that just
[25:21]refused they're just complacent they just denied um and I'm not saying
[25:26]that's the majority of the youth but there are people in that
[25:29]sort of mindset and worldview unfortunately for those people we should never
[25:34]stop being there for them maybe we've tried something that is not
[25:37]working with them maybe we have to think outside the box but
[25:41]the overwhelming majority of people with respect to them I think you
[25:45]hit the nail on the head with regards to the scholars and
[25:47]the people who will have some form of religious Authority or just
[25:53]don't have access or they're not accessible um I've been saying this
[25:57]for a long time if you or someone people look up to
[26:01]in your local community and you can inspire people globally you should
[26:04]have a social media presence this is for the longest time people
[26:07]have been complaining social media is the source of all evil you
[26:11]know the Bible has an interesting uh verse money is the root
[26:13]of all evil yeah but not really though with all do love
[26:18]and respect money can be evil anybody it can be good as
[26:20]well depends I'm not saying this as a pejorative to the Bible
[26:21]necessarily but anything can be evil you know social media they're not
[26:27]the same boat you can use it for Haram for sure there's
[26:28]a ton of uses on I can think of a billion off
[26:31]the top of my head but I can think of two billion
[26:34]of how I can use it to my advantage as well you
[26:37]need to have access and resources if you're someone people look up
[26:39]to is there a way they could reach out to you if
[26:43]not just for the sake of inviting you you know what's what's
[26:46]your contact through your boys through who who has touched in touch
[26:50]with them what if there's a lonely teenager out there who wants
[26:55]spiritual guidance got inspired by your lecture is a little bit confused
[26:58]about a point how are they able to reach out to you
[27:01]if you keep putting people and I say that rhetorically for example
[27:04]on a pedestal unreachable then what use are you just to gaze
[27:10]and look at they did something really nice they accomplished well go
[27:13]down humble yourself whoever humbles themselves for Allah God will raise them
[27:20]don't worry there's a beautiful poem attributed to Alima where he goes
[27:36]they spent their nights on mountaintops sheltered guarded unable to be reached
[27:43]thinking they were on top of the world and so one day
[27:47]God humbled them and put them in the lowest and deep pit
[27:52]that was their grave if you don't humble yourself God will humble
[27:55]you soon so humbling oneself involves going to the people seeing them
[27:59]the young guy that's dealing with depression anxiety Temptations you brought that
[28:04]as a point yeah I genuinely agree there are taboo topics not
[28:09]talking about not spoken about but they are the most relevant issues
[28:12]in the world today yes you're just going to turn a blind
[28:13]eye why talk these are kids deal with these things on a
[28:18]daily basis of kids adults women and men you need to be
[28:21]accessible to them be a guide for them and I say you
[28:25]I send this message in general to my older sister to my
[28:29]older brother that have people looking up to them they have a
[28:32]form of influence and even if it's whether in their local area
[28:34]have a form of access social media is a great place it's
[28:37]a good place to have you can have it in a pseudo
[28:41]name you don't have to be yourself you can make an account
[28:43]you can make a page you can be your own page if
[28:47]we have negative influencers out there why not have positive ones for
[28:49]the Youth to look up to as well I'm a very positive
[28:54]page is insta Elevate which we come up to hey you in
[28:57]a short video the most positive way but first we have to
[29:01]talk about another issue because the issues are like an iceberg saying
[29:06]they don't with great pain I would create difficulties come great and
[29:14]strong Allah speak for yourself islamophobia said yeah more relevant than ever
[29:20]yeah especially with regards to what happens in Sweden recently what's your
[29:26]take on that segment the Quran burning yourself burning yes so yeah
[29:32]I don't want to call him a bad name but a not
[29:37]so intellectual individual decided to burn the Quran yes okay you don't
[29:40]accomplish anything by burning the Quran your agenda is not completed your
[29:49]rage against Islam doesn't get satiated or satisfied you've burnt a page
[29:54]with ink the Quran if you really want to get rid of
[29:55]it I'm going to give this Maniac some instructions you have to
[30:00]get rid of over maybe a hundred million Muslims we have over
[30:03]a hundred million memorizers you're not making a dent in the world
[30:09]of the Quran so really you're wasting your time for all those
[30:12]that come and burn a book The the response might be then
[30:15]why do you react so um offensively because it's the word of
[30:19]God it's not going to change but I have a degree of
[30:24]honor and dignity for the word of Allah it's not about the
[30:27]book it's about the message behind it not all it's about what
[30:29]it stands for and what it reflects why do we honor Monument
[30:32]events why do we honor Graves at the end of the day
[30:36]now they're just paused there's no more movement happening but what they
[30:41]represent what they stand for to me that material represents the messages
[30:45]of every Prophet that came before the holy prophet of God every
[30:49]single principle of divine morality and ethics to come and burn it
[30:55]is to say I deny absolutely all of this If you deny
[30:57]it I would love to hear your reasons to burn it is
[31:01]just barbaric wow do you want to express your freedom of speech
[31:05]A wise man once said there's a thing called selective freedom of
[31:07]speech and in the car while we were on our way over
[31:12]here and and I think that's a very beautiful term because you
[31:14]can express your freedom of speech but you can never assure the
[31:18]safety of a society if people decide to provoke other individuals I
[31:24]will tell you if you burn the Quran in front of me
[31:27]I won't give you a hit but I can't promise from the
[31:30]2 billion people out there yes that a few people might come
[31:33]and I won't endure such actions we condemn any form of violence
[31:38]but this should be seen as a national security risk it really
[31:41]should when you come and insult something that is a beloved and
[31:45]cherished thing in a person's life you can't question certain elements I'll
[31:49]respect that certain moments in history tragedies that have occurred why because
[31:53]it's very delicate and critical not to get political but that genuinely
[31:58]is there are moments in history in Poland in other parts of
[32:01]the world in in even in the west and in Iraq there
[32:05]are certain elements don't question those why not question them because there
[32:09]are we can't guarantee that there might come people who will react
[32:13]negatively or want to cause harm at least for that sake if
[32:16]that you denied if for the reasons concerning the value and why
[32:22]you decided to burn it you denied you're just poking a bear
[32:25]that's asleep hoping that it's not going to wake up and bite
[32:30]you back so the Quran is going to remain I'm not worried
[32:32]about the on I'm just worried about a society that can't learn
[32:37]to live in harmony with one another you will see the same
[32:41]reaction from Muslims if someone came from the Muslim Community and birthed
[32:46]the Bible and the Torah yes the same reaction why do I
[32:50]say this because the Bible and the Torah has a Huda and
[32:52]hidayah as the Quran said yes we respect all world religions abrahamic
[32:56]and none because at the end of the day if you still
[33:00]decide to believe in a higher power that is commendable if you
[33:04]decide not to believe in a higher power you're my brother in
[33:08]religion or you can be my equal inhumanity My Religion teaches me
[33:12]to be tolerant of others but my religion also teaches me that
[33:17]we will never bully others but we will never be bullied as
[33:20]well yes and there is no compulsion in religion and there is
[33:27]freedom of speech in the whole world freedom of speech except when
[33:30]it comes to Islam yeah I mean that's the unfortunate reality well
[33:33]we're bigger people than us you know if people want to marginalize
[33:38]us so be it we've seen this movie before and we know
[33:40]the outcome at the end of the day and we will always
[33:43]end up being the more responsible version of what they expected us
[33:47]not to be we will be the more responsible individual here such
[33:50]that by being this way we will make you look like the
[33:55]child burning paper yelling making a mess drawing pictures of my holy
[33:59]prophet of Islam however you look like before draw better make your
[34:02]work look nicer what are you doing instigating we saw what happened
[34:07]in 2015 in France for example we see these happen before I'm
[34:11]not insulted my profit is not insulted I fear though that a
[34:14]society can't learn to live in harmony and respect the Divine messages
[34:20]of one another express your freedom but don't make something turn into
[34:24]a potential National Security risk for your own good and bloody no
[34:27]pun intended sake I send it beautifully signal and I think we
[34:33]as Muslims also all have a obligation in this with equipping ourselves
[34:37]with the tools with the knowledge to defend our religion in spite
[34:41]of not having that completely freedom because I think one of the
[34:47]causes also that we are a victim to this is a lack
[34:52]of our understanding in regards to religion we cannot defend our religion
[34:58]properly because we don't know a religion that quite well I think
[35:01]and I speak not about you of course or the ulama but
[35:05]I speak about just the usual Tom Dick and Harry like me
[35:09]who go to school go to work and they ask these questions
[35:14]what do you think about the Quran burning what do I have
[35:16]to answer without me knowing religion and what a with me knowing
[35:22]that if I answer something they can judge me they will judge
[35:25]me or they will look me to me in a different way
[35:28]how I think you have to be confident in life confidence is
[35:33]always key and number one people have their own opinions their own
[35:37]World Views their own narrative I mean you're entitled to have yours
[35:43]too if people won't accept it okay I'm not here forcing you
[35:45]you said it earlier to use your Dean to me is mine
[35:50]for example but I will share it how do you know what
[35:51]to share if you don't know what to share you have to
[35:54]equip yourself with some background information you're not saying you have to
[35:58]be an ayato law we're not saying you have to go even
[36:03]that direction but be more aware of what you're talking about I've
[36:06]seen a lot of debates a lot of arguments comments section Wars
[36:10]where it's like bro just stop talking please you know you don't
[36:12]know what you're talking about um people making you know fool of
[36:16]themselves thinking they can speak on behalf of religion in reality they're
[36:19]doing the Dina disservice there are many debates out there that I've
[36:25]seen YouTube videos Etc what people should really do is instead of
[36:28]looking for a fight or or a debate who can I you
[36:32]know overcome there's this effort with that Allah that you want to
[36:34]convert as many people as possible yes be like Imam assadic where
[36:37]he says invite people without using your tongue use your tongue when
[36:43]necessary speak out loud be outspoken write articles but if you say
[36:48]the most beautiful things but your zero then you're doing Islamic disservice
[36:56]you see yourself can I improve how can I take the lessons
[36:58]I'm trying to share with others and apply them because you have
[37:01]to practice what you preach you talk or talk a lot did
[37:04]you walk the walk at the same time or no you know
[37:08]you're teaching people don't end up being in a situation where we've
[37:10]seen time and time again where you become holier than thou one
[37:13]day you're preaching the other day you're caught in the act the
[37:18]other day you're doing something counterintuitive to what you were preaching hypocritical
[37:21]for example and I is a message I give myself all the
[37:25]time in the world of lecturing speaking that type of career you
[37:28]need the first lecture to the mirror before you lecture so the
[37:32]crowd sends do you accept what you're saying don't just fool other
[37:34]people don't just say here I am just to satisfy you believe
[37:38]in what you say and practice what you believe mean what you
[37:41]say and say what you mean first mean what you say then
[37:46]say what you mean don't say it because I hope I mean
[37:48]it you'll learn about what you're talking about that comes with engrossing
[37:52]yourself with the knowledge out there the enemy that is there their
[37:58]views your views and not looking for a fight but learning your
[38:01]relationship with God is the one that you should prioritize then help
[38:05]others you know I was flying here the plane they announced if
[38:10]we ever see an emergency come close fasten or help yourself with
[38:13]your mask then help others first why how am I supposed to
[38:18]help you next to me if I haven't gotten myself situated so
[38:20]I need to make sure I am in a healthy position before
[38:23]I go out and start preaching to others telling them what to
[38:27]do when I have so many flaws flaws or walls made of
[38:31]glass and here I am throwing stones subhanallah beautifully said saying now
[38:36]practice what you preach tug the talk and walk the walk sent
[38:39]them let's talk about something positive say it now yeah yes let's
[38:45]talk about where people know you from were we talking about something
[38:48]negative no no not negative but more in a more positive way
[38:54]this time instead the mobile and Instagram mask in my opinion a
[39:00]source of inspiration and education how a mask should be in my
[39:03]opinion in place where you find knowledge inspiration and you also can
[39:08]smile sometimes with the memes with the lives beautiful beautiful beautiful now
[39:14]I think a lot of people want to know would like to
[39:19]know their origin where did it start what inspired the what's inspired
[39:24]the founders to start this page and yeah eventually what is the
[39:29]goal and the vision so you know I mean I give all
[39:31]credit to my brother uh Hajj Mustafa big shout out to Mustafa
[39:36]Mustafa from Scotland and his hard work and dedication this man is
[39:42]a trooper he's a full-time soccer coach and full-time dad full-time God
[39:48]knows whatever he goes on the side but he'll also uh created
[39:54]this platform many years back when it was still a baby you
[39:57]can say uh he I have the honor of him reaching out
[40:02]and said on Facebook I remember are you interested to hop on
[40:08]instead I like some of your content again some of the positives
[40:11]of social media is who can connect me with some random guy
[40:16]in the highlands of Scotland another arati out there you know but
[40:20]what United us was the love of Adam bait and services see
[40:22]some of your material on Facebook it kind of matches with what
[40:27]I'm doing on Instagram if you want to come on board yeah
[40:28]so it was like I don't know how many you know three
[40:32]digits in the followers and now it's like over a hundred and
[40:36]ten thousand alhamdulillah um and we just turned into naturally organically its
[40:41]own thing we've never like paid for uh sponsors or or I
[40:46]don't know what you call it advertisements you see I don't even
[40:48]know what you call it as an indication as to you know
[40:52]we just do things but it shows us that there's a lot
[40:54]of demand little Supply yes yes more Islam has been marketed in
[41:01]the worst way possible you think of Islam you think of these
[41:04]images that are not the most attractive um or you might think
[41:09]at the very best an old man long beard and we have
[41:12]no issue with old men long beard right but you need to
[41:15]know your audience right yes the audience is one that is filled
[41:21]with wrong understandings so give them the right one and aesthetically pleasing
[41:26]way so persistence is key as well I know no association wonderfully
[41:29]does its own and it's uh we we get inspired by others
[41:33]as well and so the content keeps that in mind that's the
[41:38]vision what are they dealing with and how can we best speak
[41:40]to them sometimes you look at Arabic translations and you see words
[41:45]like verily um you know Vice gerunds like what are you saying
[41:50]the beneficent yeah but you know people understand them but they don't
[41:54]relate to that what is that going what's going on exactly and
[41:59]so we'll take the time to come and make this digestible in
[42:03]an aesthetically pleasing way using videos of past lectures here and there
[42:07]um and the content is seasonal as well the theme's all sad
[42:12]and related to Ashu a lot in the days of ayad we're
[42:17]posting some news I don't know if you noticed I wanted to
[42:19]ask you which ones have I like the one with Mr Bean
[42:22]but what about marriage uh waiting on God to give him I
[42:31]said not between me you I love you going live and roasting
[42:35]people sometimes yeah the daily live streams um sometimes you get people
[42:41]in the comment section that troll maybe some of them are sitting
[42:44]in front of me um you know and yeah alhamdulillah it's a
[42:48]beautiful Community I'm so grateful and we've we've expanded the family we
[42:52]have dear brother Ali lahani he's a wonderful admin from Michigan as
[42:56]well to your friend of mine um just it could become something
[43:00]that you can't necessarily control yeah and so you have to it's
[43:02]like a company you know you have to bring people in how
[43:06]do you respond to messages that are we get like maybe 30
[43:10]messages uh maybe like every few hours wow um and by the
[43:14]day I don't know God knows how many yeah some of them
[43:16]are just like can you share this can you share that and
[43:18]uh I'm gonna make an announcement to whichever camera here we share
[43:23]from pages that we of course synchronize in our vision um but
[43:26]without any exception we always collab and share with no associations thank
[43:29]you if you if you look at the material that's being done
[43:34]and the way that it's being done as well not to say
[43:36]that the way other Pages out there make their content is not
[43:41]the best but there's a standard it's high time we Market Islam
[43:43]good one of these pages is done very well is this beautiful
[43:46]wonderful thank you very much the platform I appreciate it I caters
[43:51]to the Muslim Shia youth community in the Netherlands but in the
[43:55]greater European you know area as well to the Shia Community abroad
[43:59]inshallah hopefully we'll see you doing daily lives as well so that's
[44:01]the whole idea on the vision behind it alhamdulillah just to cater
[44:08]to an area that's been under developed for the longest time ever
[44:14]beautiful amazing amazing and as beautiful months are approaching important months are
[44:20]approaching the month of Muharram and the month of Safar as Ayatollah
[44:23]once said even word for Muharram and Safar the Shia Islamic school
[44:31]would perish would not exist anymore so how what can we expect
[44:36]from Muharram from Muharram on the page is a time that we
[44:40]will do our hardest to make it clear that this is a
[44:45]month we have to honor so we cut on all forms of
[44:50]joking any form of like light-heartedness this is a serious time I
[44:54]take the lessons that my parents taught me when I was younger
[44:56]that hey no school on the 10th no school um these are
[45:02]days focused on the occasion and I bring that to the platform
[45:05]as my dear brothers on the page as well we make it
[45:09]very clear we're not going to tolerate anything else besides and his
[45:13]message the theme is all reflective of that um the ahadis and
[45:19]narrations that are shared we share approximately five a day are all
[45:23]connected to that as well it will be very clear that Muharram
[45:28]has started as that rebate is in the state of Isa Instagram
[45:31]there's a hassania called the husania of it's go over there if
[45:34]you want to attend measures are over then we go back to
[45:41]removing the black and we put on the other indication that now
[45:44]we've moved on but it will be very clear that Muharram has
[45:49]its own distinct time as does shabbon but inshallah expect content that
[45:56]will be beneficial God willing um videos Snippets reels Clips some of
[46:02]my magellas as well will be placed up there and we ask
[46:06]Allah from your tofu and any advice any advice anyone has to
[46:12]offer will always open to here you receive feedback because at the
[46:14]end of the day these are meant to cater to and the
[46:18]Muslim world out there we want to know what is needed and
[46:23]we always will come down not now down to your level as
[46:26]if you're low but I never want to be put in a
[46:30]position where you see me or anyone related to me in a
[46:34]pedestal whoever humbles themselves for God God Will Raise You by ask
[46:37]God don't raise me individually raise all of us they're already ready
[46:41]beautiful beautiful beautiful and what because I love instead for one other
[46:46]reason besides the balance between banter and knowledge and Islam I love
[46:52]it is that people like me we are not often very familiar
[46:56]with the Islamic calendar and when I scroll to Instagram I see
[47:02]oh this is the word of Imam Jawad oh I see this
[47:03]is the shahada I know that day is a special day thanks
[47:08]updated on the Islamic calendar so I love it and inshallah I
[47:13]hope you bring out products as well like books or calendars if
[47:16]we start monetizing people be like oh now you're turning corporate I
[47:20]think it will be very beneficial and there's a lot of demand
[47:24]for it inshallah what give us two tips on how to prepare
[47:31]for Mohamed as they are approaching in general I always like to
[47:35]say don't be a light switch Muslims on off on off right
[47:37]there no the form of Haram comes turn the Zone mentally spiritually
[47:44]even your atmosphere prepared and ready for what will come remind yourself
[47:51]that everything we have comes from that day of Ashura and so
[47:56]let the Salah be reflective of what is to come let the
[48:02]times of Reflection from now avoid those unnecessary material or content that
[48:07]one would spend hours watching even though it's not yet but respect
[48:11]the Dignity of what is approaching so there's the in advance preparation
[48:17]then right before Muharram comes make sure that now you've made your
[48:22]intention I know it's not a an obligation like it is in
[48:26]Ramadan that you make the intention from now I will Fast the
[48:28]whole thing but do it between yourself and your lord from now
[48:33]I will do what I can to honor the message of from
[48:35]now until Muharram is over make that knee yeah Allah allow me
[48:42]to enter this month on the right foot and allow me not
[48:44]to leave on the wrong foot and so have this mental spiritual
[48:50]discussion personal between you and God and ask God inspire me for
[48:54]what will be beneficial to me in this upcoming time period I
[48:56]think it's more personal than the other months as well but even
[49:01]though it involves a lot of gathering and and participation with majitis
[49:05]and things like that it's still a very one-on-one relationship between you
[49:09]and your lord it's going to be a lot of emotion so
[49:13]get ready to expect that the heart will be shook so that's
[49:16]a personal thing as well ask Ya Allah allow this heart which
[49:22]is your Sanctuary to allow no one to live and reside inside
[49:27]it besides do not allow anyone beside you to live inside my
[49:35]heart Ya Allah the best way to do that is why because
[49:40]Imam is saying gave everything to Allah Allah gave him everything as
[49:44]a response and in return ah send Beautiful Beautiful Mess message and
[49:48]a reminder for myself how to prepare for the holy month of
[49:52]as well and we are recording this on the eve of where
[49:58]we remember the name oh praise to Allah the almighty God for
[50:02]giving us in front of the door and these two imams are
[50:10]the most remembered imams alhamdulillah alhamdulillah but we also have an Imam
[50:17]who is Among Us the Imam of our time Imam is Sharif
[50:24]give us what is Our obligation to finish with this said now
[50:31]what is Our obligation on our duty towards the Imam for saying
[50:39]of our time and the Imam Ali definitely is of our time
[50:44]of our time is one thing I always remember is we I
[50:54]think one point spoke that him being buried and martyred in karbala
[51:01]he Garners at minimum in a week 20 million followers um imagine
[51:08]and we're talking in the theme of social media right 20 million
[51:11]followers it's a lot of people right yes keep the context of
[51:17]social media what about a living Iman how many followers are there
[51:22]for him how many people pay visit to him one might say
[51:25]how weird is you don't do this Yaro where can we but
[51:32]you recite the ziara how many hours how many are remembering that
[51:39]if I do not know the Imam of my time I die
[51:43]the 100 Years of jahiliyah and make the effort to learn about
[51:45]the Imam of their time how many have garnered in that relationship
[51:47]how many remind themselves that as much as you love saying I've
[51:51]never seen anyone speak in the way about like his own grandson
[51:57]I at least have never seen anyone say that in the place
[52:00]of my Tears I've never seen anyone like that you love because
[52:07]it makes you a husseini is the biggest person [Music] because he
[52:14]makes you an island is the greatest because of her and her
[52:22]stance and her tolerance our intolerance of volume and oppression is the
[52:30]greatest person that stands against oppression and Injustice because he will fill
[52:38]the world with Justice after it was built with Injustice according to
[52:42]the holy prophet of Islam I think we're remembering all the members
[52:45]of our bait let's give some time to remember the Imam of
[52:49]our time a bit more because the Imam of our time is
[52:52]associated with us he is the Imam for us we will be
[52:56]resurrected and asked did you know who the Imam of your time
[53:01]did you know who he was and yes we remember the previous
[53:02]Imam but this is all for the culmination of the earth they
[53:09]sacrifice so that he can be among us to fulfill God's plan
[53:15]and Covenant to the world today Hadith beautifully says that when he
[53:19]emerges that the people of the heavens and and the Earth the
[53:26]inhabitants become so happy in his arrival all of this is for
[53:35]that and the one who Avengers is him he will be the
[53:39]one to avenge him you as a lover of Imam Hussain of
[53:43]all that you give to say to show that you should look
[53:44]forward to say I am the one who is a follower of
[53:51]Imam because as much at the very least let us be companions
[54:09]such that when he emerges we all say with him and on
[54:17]that note we will win thank you very much may Allah bless
