[2:48]the following is the narration of the final moments of the life

[2:55]of the grandson of rasulullah the man who the verse of the

[3:25]quran was revealed about the man who the verse of the quran

[3:41]was revealed about the man who the verse and indeed the traditions

[4:06]mention him when the holy prophet peace be upon him and his

[4:11]family states hussain is from me and i am from hussain allah

[4:18]loves the one who loves hussain the same prophet who said hassan

[4:24]and hussain are the masters of the youth of paradise the same

[4:29]prophet peace be upon him and his family who said hassan and

[4:34]hussein are the leaders of this ummah be they sitting or be

[4:39]they standing when abel fadlil abbas had been killed imam al hussain

[4:48]returned back towards the tent and he saw the bodies of his

[4:55]companions lying on the floor he saw the tents of his brother

[5:01]aqeel empty he saw the tents of his brother jafar empty he

[5:07]saw the bodies of his beloved all of them killed in front

[5:11]of him he then stood up in front of everyone and said

[6:16]valiant warriors oh brave fighters why is it that i call you

[6:22]but you don't hear me or i invite you but you don't

[6:26]answer me if you are asleep i urge you to wake up

[6:32]for these are the granddaughters of rasulullah about to be attacked i

[6:37]urge you to wake up and protect them and defend them from

[6:41]their enemy that's coming towards them when he said these lines he

[6:46]then uttered his famous lines that affect us until today is there

[7:05]any helper to help us is there anyone to come and support

[7:10]us is there anyone to come alongside us each one of us

[7:15]calls out to you when he said these lines he returned back

[7:23]towards the tent the ladies of al muhammad began to wail realizing

[7:29]the loneliness of imam al hussain all of a sudden in the

[7:36]tent a voice was heard the voice of imam ali ibn al

[7:40]hussain at this moment imam said give me a sword and give

[7:49]me a stick why do you want a stick why do you

[7:53]want a sword he said a stick so i may stand up

[7:57]and a sword that i may defend my father at this moment

[8:02]imam al hussein replied to the imam by saying to him you

[8:12]are the most pure and the most noble of my lineage after

[8:16]me come towards him o people pledge your allegiance to him o

[8:23]ali ibn al hussein who will there be for the poor and

[8:28]the destitute and the orphans after me if you die oh sayinab

[8:33]if ali ibn al hussein dies then know that there will be

[8:38]none of the lineage to remain after us at that moment he

[8:43]called all of them and he said to them come and pledge

[8:47]your allegiance to the imam after me upon saying these words imam

[8:53]al hussain alayhi salam then turned and he came towards rabab and

[9:00]he came towards zainab alayhi salam he said to them give me

[9:06]my baby let me see my baby before i head out they

[9:12]gave him the baby and he realized the amount of thirst that

[9:17]had affected the baby so the imam went out towards the plains

[9:23]of karbala and he looked towards the opposition he said to them

[9:28]if you see me as your enemy what has this six month

[9:32]old baby done to any of you at least try and quench

[9:36]the baby's thirst at that moment there was disagreement amongst the members

[9:42]of the opposition some of them said give some mercy towards the

[9:47]baby others said kill the baby others said kill the whole household

[9:54]imam al hussain again came towards them with the baby this time

[10:00]suggesting that he would leave the baby for them to quench the

[10:04]thirst at that moment nobody came forward and quenched he took that

[10:09]baby the third time when he took the baby omar ibn saad

[10:14]turned around to harum al ibn ka hilil asadi and he said

[10:19]get your arrow ready an arrow that will take out that baby

[10:24]when haram al ibn kahil was asked which arrow did you use

[10:29]to kill the six month old baby of hosayn ibn ali he

[10:33]said i used the three pronged arrow that we normally use to

[10:37]cut the neck of a camel i ask you how could a

[10:41]baby contain thirst with a camel that can contain its thirst at

[10:47]that moment says i was waiting just to see some of the

[10:53]neck of that baby for there was some cloth covering it when

[10:57]i saw some of the neck of that baby i then pulled

[11:01]back my arrow and i shot the baby and i saw the

[11:05]baby's hands begin to flap like the wings of a bird imam

[11:11]al hussain took the blood of that baby he threw it up

[11:17]in the sky according to one narration of imam al baqir he

[11:23]says when imam al hussain threw the blood in the sky none

[11:29]of the blood came back not even a single drop hit the

[11:33]earth imam al hussein returned back with the baby when he came

[11:39]back with the baby there was some of the ladies in the

[11:43]tent he gave the baby to al masa ibn zaynab took the

[11:51]baby she went towards rabab she looked in the eyes of rabab

[11:57]she said to her you know ramla gave her son qasem away

[12:01]she said yes she said and you know layla gave akbar away

[12:06]she said yes and you know of the others who have given

[12:10]their sons away she said yes rabbi looked at her and said

[12:14]zaynab tell me what's the news have i given mine away as

[12:19]well at that moment sayyidah zaynab consoled her and said yes your

[12:25]baby your baby has been martyred the imam al hussein took the

[12:31]baby and he buried the baby on the earth of karbala then

[12:36]from that moment imam al baqar who was three and a half

[12:42]years of age at karbala imam al baqar alaihi salam says that

[12:48]imam al hussain alaihi salam came out onto the battlefield in karbala

[12:55]facing the army and facing the opposition in what would be his

[13:00]first farewell message he looked towards them and he said o people

[13:06]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala was angry with the jews when they made

[13:11]uzair the son of god allah subhanahu wa ta'ala was angry with

[13:16]the christians when they made jesus the third of the three allah

[13:21]subhanahu wa ta'ala was angry with the maygians when they worship the

[13:25]sun on the moon allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will also be angry

[13:31]when you kill the son of the daughter of his prophet but

[13:35]i will not accept or give in to your call rather i

[13:40]will meet my lord with this beard dyed in blood with this

[13:44]beard covered in blood and die the death of the prophets of

[13:50]allah when they heard this the ladies of al muhammad you can

[13:55]imagine the sight for the daughters of rasulullah seeing the loneliness of

[14:03]abba when he entered the tent at the moment he entered he

[14:09]saw them crying he looked towards them and he said to them

[14:14]oh ladies remain patient allah will support you and assist you and

[14:21]look after you and avenge what will happen to you remain patient

[14:26]in this moment each and every one of you he continued to

[14:31]talk to them one by one he continued to speak to each

[14:35]of them one by one until at that moment he said who

[14:39]will give me my horse so i will go out on the

[14:42]battlefield his sister zaynab came with the horse and she looked at

[14:50]him and she said have you ever seen a sister give a

[14:53]horse so that her brother goes towards his death his heart broke

[14:58]for sayyid zaynab she sayyid then looked towards him having given him

[15:04]the horse she looked towards him as he was leaving she called

[15:09]out the lines that we remember every year wait wait oh son

[15:18]of zahra may allah bless the patience of fatima to zahra on

[15:24]a day like this when she hears the of her children on

[15:29]the plates of karabbalah wait wait oh son of zahra imam al

[15:39]hussein heartbroken by the loneliness of zaynab imam al hussain alaihi salam

[15:48]turned around towards sayyid zaynab alaihi salam he said what is it

[15:55]my dear zaynab at that moment sayyid zaynab turned around and looked

[16:03]towards medina she looked towards the grave that all of us yearn

[16:08]to see one day the grave of fatima tizarah which only she

[16:15]and hussain knew about at that time she looked towards imam al

[16:20]hussain she said to him abba abdullah just before my mother fatima

[16:28]died she said to me i have an amana for you she

[16:33]said give this shirt to abba abdullah there will be a day

[16:38]he will be alone on the plains of karbala give this shirt

[16:42]to him let him cover himself with the shirt i ask each

[16:47]and every one of you did the shirt protect him from the

[16:51]hooves of the horses on did that shirt protect him from those

[16:57]who kicked his body did that shirt protect him from those who

[17:02]attacked his body then she said to him let me kiss you

[17:07]where did she kiss him it was an from her mother fatima

[17:11]zahra she kissed imam al hussain al hussain on his chest then

[17:20]she kissed imam al hussain this is for all of you you

[17:24]know where we are heading now then she kissed imam al hussain

[17:28]on his neck the same neck that rasulullah used to kiss she

[17:38]kissed imam al hussein on his neck and on his chest all

[17:44]of a sudden omar ibn saad seeing the exchange between imam al

[17:49]hussein and sayyid azainab alaihi salam suddenly call out attack his house

[17:58]his tent with all the arrows that you have imam al hussein

[18:03]alaihi salam realizing that his children were about to be attacked and

[18:09]that he had no support left with him left the tent went

[18:14]towards the opposition and he began to speak to them am i

[18:19]not the grandson of muhammad al mustafa is my grandfather not rasulallah

[18:26]is my grandmother not khadijah is mother my mother not fatima is

[18:40]my great uncle not hamza is my uncle not jafar is my

[18:49]father not ali ibn abi talib the lion of allah do you

[18:55]deny all of this why have you come out to kill me

[18:59]if you know all of this they replied by saying we have

[19:03]come out to kill you out of hatred for your father when

[19:08]he heard this then after that in an exchange with omar ibn

[19:12]saad according to certain narrators he said to omar ibn sa'd i

[19:18]have three requests from you omar ibn sa'd looked towards him and

[19:22]he said what are they he said the first of them is

[19:26]offer us some water the second of them is allow our family

[19:32]to go back in peace to medina the third of them is

[19:36]fight us one on one omar ibn sa'ad said as for the

[19:40]first one you will die thirsty i will not offer any of

[19:45]you any water as for the second one they will not be

[19:50]returned to anywhere for safety as for the third one we will

[19:54]fight you one on one imam al hussain at this moment came

[20:01]out on the battlefield facing thousands of soldiers standing there alone but

[20:08]he came out and he valiantly said he came out and valiantly

[20:25]fought the opposition abdullah ibn amar ibn ali aghuz narrates i have

[20:31]never in my life seen a man as brave as hussain ibn

[20:35]ali i have never seen a man as valiant and as courageous

[20:41]as hussain ibn ali he pierced through our army one by one

[20:47]and then when he headed to the faraj he got to the

[20:50]faraj where i'm rabbi zabid had 4,000 soldiers he made all of

[20:56]them leave the faraj and he was there with his horse on

[21:01]the faraj while he was there each and every one of us

[21:05]knows abba abdullah had not had a sip of water for a

[21:10]number of days but look at the softness of the heart of

[21:14]imam al hussain alaihi salam when he came to the water of

[21:19]the faraj he was about to drink from some of that water

[21:24]and he noticed that his horse was thirsty and he could not

[21:29]take seeing a creation of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala thirsty he offered

[21:35]some water to the horse and the horse would not take it

[21:40]imam again offered some water and the horse would not take it

[21:45]all of a sudden knowing very well alongside others that if imam

[21:52]al hussein is allowed to drink any water then he will pierce

[21:58]through the opposition alone so they called out hussein you drink water

[22:04]while your ladies are being attacked it turned out to be a

[22:09]lie the ladies were not being attacked they had just done this

[22:14]because they knew how much imam al hussain cared about the ladies

[22:20]of al muhammad imam rode his horse and he returned back to

[22:26]the tent and when he came back the ladies all gathered around

[22:30]him so they may get a final moment with imam al hussain

[22:35]alaihi salaam his sister kulthum came towards him and his sister zainab

[22:42]came towards him and the ladies of al muhammad including rabab and

[22:47]others came towards him and they sat with imam some of them

[22:52]came and protected him the imam began to talk to all of

[22:57]them but then they said to him oh imam there is one

[23:02]who wants to talk to you more than any who is it

[23:06]it's your daughter sukaina alaihi sala sukaina alaihi salaam at that moment

[23:14]the narrator's mentioned she had her head between her knees and she

[23:19]was in deep thoughts and contemplation she saw her father she said

[23:25]to her father oh father why can we not now return back

[23:29]to medina oh father have you submitted yourself to death at that

[23:36]moment imam al hussain replied that's also have no supporters left for

[23:42]me but sukaina remained strong remained patient with what you're about to

[23:48]see he bid farewell to sukaina alaihi salaam then he was about

[23:54]to leave he heard sukaina calling out father father come back one

[23:59]final time every year we narrate this it breaks our heart when

[24:05]we hear the following lines he said to us sukaina what is

[24:09]it she said father normally when someone becomes an orphan you pat

[24:16]them on their head she said to him father pat me on

[24:20]my head please imam al hussain patted his dear sukaina on the

[24:25]head he embraced his dear sukaina at that moment and he began

[24:31]to walk out on the battlefield the thirst of karbala began to

[24:37]overtake kaaba abdullah he now was fighting valiantly in the late afternoon

[24:44]it was coming to about an hour before maghrib he was fighting

[24:49]valiantly until umar ibn sa'ad said spray him with all your arrows

[24:55]attack him with whatever you can imagine that one by one they

[25:01]were either throwing rocks on imam al hussain some of them were

[25:07]throwing rocks on the head of imam al hussein others of them

[25:13]were trying to get their arrows towards the imam all of a

[25:18]sudden managed to throw his rock on the forehead of abu al

[25:24]slicing the forehead of abu al abdu ala open he broke the

[25:32]very forehead that used to be kissed by rasulullah the forehead that

[25:37]used to be touched by fatima jazarah the forehead that used to

[25:42]be prostrating next to amir al mu'mineen imam al hussain's forehead had

[25:48]slit open from the cut he tried at that moment to remove

[25:57]the blood that came from him all of a sudden a man

[26:01]shot an arrow directly into the forehead of imam al hussain a

[26:13]man shot an arrow directly in the forehead of imam al hussain

[26:21]blood began to pour out to the eyes of imam al hussain

[26:29]like abbas both of them could not see because of the blood

[26:34]on their eyes the blood began to pour on the forehead of

[26:45]abba abdullah it now moved towards the eyes of imam al hussain

[26:52]he removed the helmet that he had on his head and he

[26:56]removed the armor on his head the pain was too much for

[27:08]abba abdullah he now fell from his horse directly on the ground

[27:46]imam abu says that my grandfather imam al hussein was not killed

[27:56]my grandfather imam al hussein was slaughtered when somebody is killed they

[28:04]are killed directly at that moment but when they are slaughtered they

[28:10]go through an immense amount of pain before their death he was

[28:20]rolling on the ground in karabbalah one of the narrators sent by

[28:27]yazid says imam al hussain looked like a hedgehog from the amount

[28:35]of arrows that were now on his body he was not even

[28:39]able to move one side or the other he tried to get

[28:44]some of the sand of karabbalah so that he could put his

[28:48]head on that sand he now lay there on the ground reciting

[28:53]supplications and talking to his lord in reality oh allah what did

[28:59]i find when i lost you and what did i lose when

[29:03]i found you one line of the lines that he said one

[29:41]line of the lines one line of the lines that he said

[29:56]is the line that breaks my heart every time i hear it

[30:17]patience over what you have willed there is no helper like you

[30:22]oh allah whenever you go through any moment of difficulty and someone

[30:30]says to you remain patient have sabr never forget that there is

[30:36]no sabr like the sabr of abba he simply lay there on

[30:42]the ground and he called out sabrat allah qawan la buwaheen asuwa

[30:49]patience oh allah with what you've ordained if this is what you've

[30:54]willed then i am pleased with what you've willed there is no

[30:59]support like you o allah he lay there on the ground there

[31:05]was hardly a breath coming out of the mouth of imam al

[31:08]hussein alaihi salam shimr ibn al jawshan did not know if imam

[31:15]al hussein alaihi salam was dead or was the imam alive so

[31:21]at that moment shemer said attack his woman on the tents attack

[31:27]his woman on the tents at this moment we'll know if he's

[31:31]dead or if he is alive if he's alive there's no way

[31:36]abba abdullah will allow anyone to touch zaynab ali yasidah there's no

[31:43]way him or abbas would have allowed anyone to touch zaynab ali

[31:47]yasidah so at that moment what did he call out he called

[31:55]out at that moment attack his woman can you imagine the fear

[32:00]going through the heart of sukain alaihi salaam the moment imam al

[32:06]hussein heard this he tried to stand up but he fell he

[32:14]up and he called out o army of yazid oh army of

[32:19]abu sufyan if you don't believe in god or a day of

[32:24]judgment then at least be free men what have these woman done

[32:28]to you for you to attack them at that moment shamar bin

[32:33]the joshan replied leave his woman alone from that moment onwards different

[32:38]people tried to come and attack abadillah at this moment omar bin

[32:44]saad turned around he turned around towards he said to him shoot

[32:53]the chest of hussain ibn ali and try and penetrate his heart

[33:00]at this moment haram al ibn kahil who had already shot the

[33:37]of the tent his auntie zainab called him said come back come

[33:41]back he said how can i come back and abide lies in

[33:46]karbala alone how can i come back and imam al hussain is

[33:52]there alone how can i come back and my beloved is on

[33:56]the earth alone he went and he sat next to the body

[34:01]of imam al hussain alaihi salaam he sat there and he placed

[34:06]his body opposite the body of imam al hussain when he did

[34:11]this haram al ibn kahil with no mercy whatsoever shot him at

[34:16]that moment he fell next to his uncle imam al hussain alaihi

[34:21]salaam haram al ibn kahil got another hour ready he says i

[34:26]waited until i could see the whiteness of the neck and the

[34:30]chest of abba abdullah he said at this moment i pulled back

[34:37]the moment i pulled back my arrow hit the heart of imam

[34:41]al hussain i want you wherever you may be to picture the

[34:47]forehead of imam al hussain has an arrow inside it the heart

[34:52]of imam al hussain has an arrow next to it there are

[34:57]arrows all over the body of imam al hussain imagine what fatima

[35:03]al hussain felt seeing all of this imagine what fatima al zara

[35:08]felt seeing what they were doing to her son imagine what al

[35:13]muhammad were going through at this moment omar ibn saad kept on

[35:18]sending people he said to them finally go and kill the man

[35:23]but every time a man would come to imam al hussain the

[35:28]moment he's about to strike him some of them would say we

[35:31]have never seen lights like the light shining from the face of

[35:35]imam al hussain alaihi salaam a christian man in the army of

[35:41]yazid says i came with the intention of beheading imam al hussain

[35:47]he said as i was about to he looked at me and

[35:51]he said to me oh man do you know mary he said

[35:55]yes he said do you know her son he said yes jesus

[35:59]he said oh man my father is ali my mother is fatima

[36:05]and my grandfather is mohammed the man said when i saw hussein

[36:10]talk the way he was talking i came back and i could

[36:14]not take it there was no way i was going to kill

[36:17]imam al hussain one by one imam al hussain began to be

[36:24]surrounded by soldiers each one of them on about to kill him

[36:29]but whenever they would come near him they would walk back some

[36:34]of them because of his light others because they would hear him

[36:38]whisper the quran others because they thought to themselves that how can

[36:43]we face his grandfather who we love and we believe in if

[36:47]they claim it and we have killed the grandson of the man

[36:51]who we claim that we are the followers of sayyid hussein was

[36:57]looking towards the opposition she looked towards the earth she saw imam

[37:03]al hussein going one way and the other she saw he could

[37:07]not move she said oh omar bin saad how could you do

[37:11]this to imam al hussein alaihi salaam omar bin saad realizing that

[37:16]zaynab's voice was getting louder he began to turn around to those

[37:21]around him may allah give all of you patience for what i'm

[37:25]about to recite umar bin saad turned around he said to all

[37:31]of those around him one of you go towards him one of

[37:35]you go and finish him enough is enough imagine the heart of

[37:40]she was thinking that my horse will come back any second with

[37:47]my father imagine the heart of i've lost my baby surely i

[37:54]can't lose my husband imagine the heart of zainab she's thinking that

[38:01]my backbone throughout my life is about to go imagine the heart

[38:06]of fatawat azara when many would come and recite the poetry imagine

[38:20]the hearts of all of these at this moment they called out

[38:26]one of you go towards him suddenly sinan bananas came one way

[38:32]and came another may all of you have patience at this moment

[38:40]may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless imam when he hears what i'm

[38:47]about to narrate at this moment sinan ibn anas came towards imam

[38:54]al hussain he came towards the chest of imam al hussain one

[39:01]of them suddenly came and kicked imam al hussain struck imam al

[39:08]hussain once another trampled on the chest another began to hit the

[39:15]head sinan bananas got closer of imam al hussain he pulled the

[39:37]beard of sayyid ashurada he pulled the holy head he pulled out

[39:43]his dagger and he took the neck how many times did he

[39:49]strike the neck 12 times 12 times leave leave my brother leave

[40:34]him leave my beloved hosseid i beg you leave him so cana

[40:41]saw the horse returning back she looked towards the horse she said

[40:46]oh horse where's the rider that choose to ride you with your

[41:04]tears my dear brothers and sisters wherever you may be in the

[41:08]world all of you let's get together right now all of us

[41:15]in one voice all of you hosanna my mother fatima please forgive

[42:48]me for the words that i'm going to be reciting today i

[42:51]beg you share meridones ever bring your soul to me and take

[44:08]hosea hosea she screams to share me leave you sat on his

[45:39]chest whilst his back is broken his eyes watch zeline by her

[45:52]great eve striker and he watches hosanna where's your voices hosanna hosanna

[46:26]hosanna hosanna she said it's by him my circuit by his absence

[46:41]his body is hereby to where is his presence everything is broken

[46:57]except his silence and nothing was left of him
