[0:14]muhammad respected brothers and sisters i would like to begin by giving

[0:45]you all my condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of imam al-hassan the

[0:56]second imam of ahlulbait and the first grandson of rasulullah and the

[1:08]son of amir al-mu'min and fatima zahra an imam who was oppressed

[1:15]we see that he was oppressed during his life and even until

[1:23]today until today you see on his martyrdom anniversary not many people

[1:29]show care and attention for the martyrdom of imam al-hasan alayhi who

[1:35]in fact is greater than imam al-hussein because imam al-hassan he was

[1:42]the imam of imam and hussain so there was a time where

[1:47]imam al-hussein he used to look at his brother imam al-hasan as

[1:49]his imam and the moon the one who was being led was

[1:56]imam al-hussein the life of imam al-hassan has many lessons in it

[2:02]and if we want to analyze the life of imam al-hasan alaihissalam

[2:09]we will see that his life can be divided into three separate

[2:13]categories or three different times there is one time and that is

[2:21]from his birth all the way until the death of rasulullah and

[2:28]the second stage is from the death of rasool allah all the

[2:33]way until the death of amir al-mu'min the martyrdom of amir al-mu'min

[2:37]and the third stage is the stage the period of his imam

[2:42]which lasted for 10 years from the year 40 after hijrah the

[2:47]year of the martyrdom of menin to the year 50 after hijab

[2:54]the year ma'awiyah poisoned imam al-hassan first of all the birth of

[3:01]imam al-hasan alaihissalam was a big social event that took place and

[3:08]that is because the prophet the messenger and the head of state

[3:17]now has just received his first grandson after the migration from mecca

[3:23]to madina in the second year after hijrah or the third year

[3:28]after hijrah imam al-hasan alaihissalam was born on the 15th of the

[3:33]month of ramadan and this was a very important event that brought

[3:41]very much satisfaction to rasulullah because many of his own sons they

[3:47]would die he had qasim he had ibrahim they all died so

[3:56]rasool allah was gifted we have given you a progeny through fatima

[4:07]so the birth of imam al-hassan was the beginning of the progeny

[4:14]of rasulullah the first grandchildren of rasulullah the first of the millions

[4:20]of grandchildren of rasulullah it was through imam al-hasan alaihis and the

[4:26]reason why i said millions of grandchildren is because the see the

[4:31]saiyans the bani hashem they go back to rasulullah and one of

[4:39]the ways is through imam al-hasan he lived the first seven or

[4:48]eight years of his life under rasulullah under the protection under the

[4:54]love and under the compassion of rasulullah and rasulallah used to show

[5:02]very much attention to his two grandsons imam al-hassan and imam al-hussein

[5:07]and rasulullah was not being emotional and just showing love because he's

[5:13]a grandfather was trying to send a message to the ummah he

[5:19]was trying to send a message to the muslims that hassan and

[5:25]hussain they are the leaders of the ummah and we have hundreds

[5:31]of narrations from the sunnis and shias where rasulallah praises imam al-hassan

[5:35]and imam hussain al-hassan they are the masters of the youth of

[5:44]paradise al-hassan imam kama okada hasan hussain they are leaders whether they

[5:54]are in a position of power or they are not in a

[5:58]position of power ahmad ibn hambal in his muslim he says rasulullah

[6:06]says on his shoulder he had placed imam al-hassan on his neck

[6:34]on his shoulder so a man he passes by rasulallah and he

[6:42]tells imam al-hasan he tells him oh young child you are sitting

[6:49]on a very holy on a very esteemed position where you are

[6:55]on the shoulder of rasulullah so rasulallah and he is also a

[7:13]great and honorable person so the man was just saw that imam

[7:17]al-hasan he's lucky to be riding on the on the shoulder of

[7:24]rasulullah whereas he's an honorable person and he is worthy of being

[7:32]on my shoulder he lived with the prophet and after the death

[7:41]of the prophet we see that everything changed against the albeit the

[7:46]ummah the prophet used to show so much care and attention to

[7:52]his children to his daughter fatima to amir al-mu'min now you see

[7:57]suddenly the ummah has neglected the bait immediately after the death of

[8:03]the prophet there was an attack on that very household that the

[8:07]prophet used to seek permission before entering and the island made they

[8:11]saw that within one night everything changed everything changed and another group

[8:19]of people they come to power and now they are debate they

[8:27]are they are marginalized and they don't have a voice and they

[8:31]don't have positions of power they say that imam al-hasan alaihissalam and

[8:37]this in some narrations it says imam hussain in some it says

[8:40]imam al-hassan and the reason for that is because the arabic language

[8:43]did not have the dots you know what's the difference between hussein

[8:47]and hassan is the two dots for the the arabic language when

[8:53]it first began until the until about 70 years after the hijra

[8:57]of the prophet the dots were added before that they did not

[9:02]add dots because the arabs they had an oral culture there was

[9:05]an oral transmission of knowledge so the the hadith was not passed

[9:09]on through writing it was passed on through hearing and oral trans

[9:14]trans uh mission of knowledge so this is why you find some

[9:17]hadith it says hassan or hussain it says that one day when

[9:23]the first khalifa he came and he sat on the number of

[9:27]rasulullah imam who was a child he comes to him he tells

[9:33]him he tells him come down from the member of my father

[9:41]and my grandfather of course this was a very big event because

[9:45]imam al-hassan he's the grandson of rasulallah of my father and my

[9:54]grandfather so they wanted to test him was he what did imam

[9:58]ali or did someone sent send this child to come and say

[10:03]this they come and they see that no imam al-hasan he himself

[10:07]he acknowledges and he understands that the rightful person for the for

[10:11]sitting on the member of rasulullah is in of course he is

[10:21]also one of the narrators of khutbat's the sermon of fatima to

[10:28]zara one of his progeny he was the main supporter of his

[10:45]father amir al-mu'min during the time during the period of time where

[10:51]amir al-mu'min was pushed aside and was not given position of authority

[10:55]imam al-hasan alaihissalam you would always be with amir menin and always

[11:02]show support to his father amir al-mu'min this is why the muslims

[11:06]some of them they would show respect to amir al-mu'min for the

[11:10]sake of imam al-hasan and imam al-hussein some of them they did

[11:14]not they despised because he had positions in the battle where some

[11:19]of the arabs they despised him because he had killed some of

[11:23]their ancestors and their families but they can't say anything about imam

[11:26]al-hassan until the leadership of amir and muhammad imam al-hassan played a

[11:36]very important role supporting his father and being with his father amir

[11:42]al-mu'min after uthman was killed abu bakr ruled and then umar and

[11:49]then uthman was killed by the muslims they came running to amir

[11:54]and imam ali asking him and begging him to to take position

[11:59]of power so after he accepts there were some of the muslims

[12:03]that rebelled against amir and muhammad three wars were waged against the

[12:10]first was by one of the wives of the prophet asha and

[12:13]zubair and the second was by muawiyah and the third was by

[12:20]the khawarij amir al-mu'min months interest now there's a rebellion so now

[12:25]he needs support so imam al-hasan alaihissalam he goes with amar ibn

[12:34]yasser they go to kufa and they bring thousands of people with

[12:36]them to support the army of amir and minin and basra where

[12:40]the battle of jamal took place so imam al-hassan he went to

[12:47]kufa and he spoke to them and he tells them about the

[12:49]khilafah of his father ramirez and he gains support and he brings

[12:53]thousands of people to support amir and mini the wife of the

[13:01]prophet she was sitting on a on a camel that was very

[13:07]protected there were hundreds of people protecting the camel and as long

[13:12]as the camel was standing then the battle continued and muslims were

[13:15]killed more and more muslims were killed so amir al-mu'min he says

[13:21]that as long as the camel is standing the battle is going

[13:25]to continue and more and more hundreds and thousands of muslims are

[13:29]going to be killed so he says we have to bring down

[13:31]that camel how are they going to bring down that camel amir

[13:37]and manin he sends his son muhammad ibn hanafiya one of the

[13:41]wives of amir al-mu'min her name is al-hanafiya muhammad abner was known

[13:46]for his bravery he was known for his strength of course all

[13:48]of the children of amir and mu'min they were strong they were

[13:55]brave so he gives muhammad first he tells him i want you

[13:59]to be out in front of the battle he tells him you

[14:01]want me to be out and you're protecting hasan and hussain he

[14:05]was the imam but he was very careful to protect imam al-hasan

[14:09]and imam hussain he would not send them out in the middle

[14:14]of the battle so muhammad he tells him am i not your

[14:17]son you're sending me out in the middle of the battle but

[14:22]you're not sending hassan and hussain in the middle of the battle

[14:25]he tells him o muhammad you are my son you're like my

[14:30]right hand you're like my hand and hasan and hussain they are

[14:36]my eyes i protect my eyes with my hand they are the

[14:41]children of rasulullah through their mother father gives them a spear he

[14:49]tells him i want you to go and kill the camel so

[14:51]that the camel comes down and the war comes to an end

[14:55]he keeps going and he sees that he cannot kill the camel

[15:01]they say that that camel it was so protected that around the

[15:05]camel there were hands that were chopped off because they were holding

[15:08]the the rope that's holding the camel and they would keep the

[15:16]fight defending and defending and no one it was very protected he

[15:21]comes back empty-handed then amir al-mu'min he tells him give the spirit

[15:27]to your brother al-hasan so he gives the spirit to imam and

[15:34]within moments he comes back with the spear dripping with blood the

[15:38]camel has been brought down and the war has come to an

[15:42]end and the bloodshed had stopped because he killed the camel the

[15:48]camel fell and the and the war stopped and it ended so

[15:52]muhammad ibn hanafiya he was upset because he's brave and he thought

[15:58]that he was going to bring down the camel he tells him

[16:03]oh muhammad don't be upset and muhammad you are the son of

[16:11]ali and he al-hasan he is the son of muhammad meaning that

[16:16]he he has from both sides from his father's side he has

[16:19]inherited bravery his father is alive and his from his mother's side

[16:24]his mother's father and that means his grandfather is rasul many times

[16:32]throughout the people they would come and they would ask amir al-mu'min

[16:38]questions he would refer them to imam al-hasan to show that imam

[16:41]al-hassan has the knowledge and he's the grandson of rasulallah several times

[16:47]people would come and they would ask difficult questions he would tell

[16:52]them go and ask my son al-hasan not because amir al-mu'min doesn't

[16:55]have the answer but because he wanted his son al-hassan to shine

[16:59]and also imam hussein as well he writes him a letter he

[17:06]tells them oh my dear son hassan i see this isn't he

[17:14]says i see that you are a part of me no in

[17:18]fact you are me meaning and then he tells him if anything

[17:23]harms you that would harm me and amir minin was very careful

[17:28]to show his love and care for imam al-hasan and imam and

[17:34]hussain and say the zainab and um because they were the children

[17:37]of fatima with the death of amir al-mu'mineen in the year 40

[17:44]after hijrah inherited a very difficult khilafah and those who were the

[17:59]supporters of amir and mu'mineen they were not good supporters many of

[18:03]them betrayed imam al-hassan one of them was the general of the

[18:08]army of imam al-hassan he betrayed him he goes to muawiyah he

[18:12]takes money from mahawya he says in the middle of the battle

[18:22]if we start a battle with he took money from he says

[18:26]we will arrest al-hasan and we'll hand him over to muawiyah many

[18:30]of those who were around him they betrayed him so and and

[18:35]had was had begun fighting a war with amir al-mu'min now amir

[18:40]al-mu'min died and the war is still going on imam al-hasan he

[18:46]has soldiers he has hundreds of thousands today he is considered to

[18:50]be the fifth khalifa of the muslims the muslims they consider abu

[18:56]bakr umar uthman he saw that if he continues fighting with muawiyah

[19:08]he was manipulative he would give money to this person and that

[19:12]person to bring people away from imam al-hasan alaihissalam and he kept

[19:17]killing the sahaba of rasulallah he began the cursing of amir al-m

[19:23]on the pulpits so in order to protect the ummah in order

[19:28]to preserve the peace imam al-hasan abdicated imam al-hasan he shows the

[19:34]world that i am not going after power amir al-mu'min never went

[19:39]after power either the first three they ruled and then they came

[19:42]begging they were never after power the difference with imam imam imam

[19:49]sadaq was never in a position of power but he had he

[19:54]was an imam imam al-hadi all of the imams they did not

[19:59]have the official khilafah but they were imams of the ummah because

[20:03]imam is to guide people to do what's best for the community

[20:07]to do what's best for the muslims and imam al-hasan did that

[20:12]so he abdicated and then he took the khilafah he took the

[20:17]kalapa but imam al-hasan he signed a peace treaty with mahawya that

[20:21]after that ma'awiyah stops the killing of the sahaba that ma'awe does

[20:25]such and such and after the death of the khilafah goes to

[20:31]imam al-hasan if he is alive or to imam al-hussein what did

[20:38]mahawaya do malawi died you're 60 after hijrah so 10 years he

[20:43]died he he for year 40 was the for 20 years now

[20:56]year 60 he places his son yazid he broke the treaty so

[20:59]imam al-hussein now he has the right to go and stand against

[21:04]yazid because based on the treaty that was signed between muawiyah and

[21:08]imam al-hasan ali but anyways he saw that he has a treaty

[21:17]with imam al-hassan and he could not stand imam al-hasan being alive

[21:21]even though it hasn't gave position of power imam al-hasan was not

[21:25]even going after position of power but because people were attached to

[21:30]imam al-hasan people loved he poisoned imam al-hasan 17 times imagine 17

[21:37]times imam al-hasan was poisoned because as long as imam al-hassan was

[21:42]alive muhammad saw that he was losing he saw that the people

[21:47]were attracted to imam al-hassan he would ma'awe would wage propaganda against

[21:52]the ahle bait a man comes from sham he comes from damascus

[21:56]to madina and he sees imam al-hasan he tells them you are

[22:00]al-hasan it says yes then the man begins to curse imam al-hasan

[22:03]this is the grandson of rasulallah you guys you say now you

[22:10]come and you curse at his own children so imam hassan he's

[22:14]being cursed by a man who doesn't even know him and he

[22:17]doesn't know the man so the imam alayhi salaam he tells him

[22:23]it's as if you're a stranger here it's as if you have

[22:28]mistaken me for someone else he tells him no you're hasan and

[22:30]he begins cursing at him alhassan tells him you seem that you're

[22:35]a traveler if you need a place to stay come and stay

[22:40]with me if you need food we will give you food if

[22:42]you need clothes if you need food whatever you need come to

[22:46]us and we will give you the man was shocked the man

[22:53]began to cry and he says allah god knows with what kind

[22:59]of people he places in positions of power you are the advait

[23:02]he tells him i used to hate you and your father and

[23:06]your family and now after that after what you just did i

[23:11]love you and love your father and you have changed my life

[23:13]imam al-hassan was known with his he gave they say that he

[23:35]gave his wealth several times all of his wealth he gave it

[23:38]in the way of allah who does that only the one who

[23:45]knows and is certain that the wealth that i have is from

[23:48]allah so therefore it becomes easy to give imam narration on the

[23:56]seventh of safar he passed away according to another narration on the

[24:00]end of safar and muawiyah sent a poison and he gave it

[24:07]to one of the wives of imam al-hasan alaihissalam the daughter of

[24:13]the daughter of he gave her the poison and the poison was

[24:19]brought to the muslims to the muslim empire from the romans he

[24:26]tried to get a very severe poison so he sends a letter

[24:31]to the roman emperor he tells him i need the strongest poison

[24:34]that you have the emperor replies to him he tells them we

[24:38]have a poison but according to our religion we forbid it we

[24:43]don't use it against people because it's so lethal so he writes

[24:49]back he tells him i'm going to be using it against the

[24:53]grandson of the one who made who converted the romans to muslims

[24:58]the one who who brought islam to your to your land so

[25:04]the roman emperor he sends the poison and imam al-hassan was fasting

[25:10]his wife she betrayed him and she was she received false promises

[25:18]from he tells her i'm going to give you money and i'm

[25:22]going to marry you to my son yazid after she killed imam

[25:26]al-hasan she goes to malawia he tells her i will give you

[25:29]the money but i'm not going to give you my son yazid

[25:31]because hassan the grandson of the prophet is greater than my son

[25:35]yazid and you and you killed him so now i can't trust

[25:39]my son with you she poisoned the imam he was fasting and

[25:46]the milk that had poison in it it entered into his body

[25:52]he began to vomit he began to vomit the blood until imam

[25:56]al-hassan passed away imam al-hussein he gathered next to imam al-hassan imam

[26:03]al-hussein began to cry imam al-hasan he tells him oh my dear

[26:07]brother hussain don't cry for me i cry for you for your
