[0:05]the Almighty God the compassionate the merciful the one who has created

[0:10]everything in utmost perfection and may the peace and blessings of the

[0:18]Almighty God be upon his pure and beloved messenger the peak of

[0:22]his creation the symbol of humanity the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi

[0:28]wa ala allah humma salli ala muhammad wa ala muhammad and his

[0:33]immaculate progeny of the elevate peace be upon them respected brothers and

[0:40]sisters assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh on this blessed night we commemorate the

[0:52]legacy of the greatest soldier of islam and the greatest defender of

[0:56]the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu aleyhi wa in the holy city of

[1:01]Mecca that is Abu Talib a number of narrations indicate that he

[1:06]passed away ten years after the birth ten or eleven years after

[1:12]the Prophet Sal Allahu Allahu Allah have received revelation in the month

[1:16]of Ramadan on the seventh or the eighth of the month of

[1:19]Ramadan Abu Talib comes from a very noble family he was one

[1:26]of ten sons to Abdul Muttalib Abdul Muttalib was the grandfather of

[1:32]the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa ala he had ten sons one of

[1:35]them was Abu Talib Abu Talib was known for his amazing character

[1:45]we find that one of the honorary roles he had in the

[1:50]city of Mecca he would serve the pilgrims who would come to

[1:58]Masjid al-haram he would actually give them water from zem zem and

[2:05]this was a great honor that he had we find that Abu

[2:12]Talib according to some narrations he was the first Hashmi to marry

[2:18]a Hashemi as he married Fatima bint Asad she also came from

[2:23]Benny Hashim Abu Talib was one of the greatest soldiers that Allah

[2:27]Spano to Allah gave to the holy prophet sallallahu alayhi wa ali

[2:34]he had so many virtues everyone knew him to be such a

[2:36]great man a man of honor a man of dignity when Abdul

[2:43]Muttalib was passing away he summoned Abu Talib he told him my

[2:47]dear son you know how much I love this boy Muhammad he

[2:52]was only eight years old the Prophet was eight years old or

[2:54]six years old according to some narrations when his grandfather Abdul Muttalib

[2:59]passed away he told him you know how much I love this

[3:03]boy I want you to be there for him I want you

[3:08]to protect him after me Abu Talib told him father I promise

[3:12]I will look after him not only is he my nephew but

[3:20]I will consider him my own son Abu Talib was also very

[3:23]close to the father of the Prophet Abdullah he was really hurt

[3:29]when he passed away because Abu Talib and Abdullah they came from

[3:33]the same mother whereas the other sons of Abu Talib they came

[3:36]from a different mother Abu Lahab for example he came from another

[3:42]mother and I passed the uncle of the Prophet he came from

[3:44]another mother but Abu Talib and I'm delighted the father of the

[3:47]Prophet they came from the same mother so Abu Talib had this

[3:53]special connection with Abdullah and the special connection with his nephew the

[3:58]holy prophet sallallahu alayhi wa island when i'm done looked on it

[4:03]passes away Abu Talib sponsors the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa anya now

[4:09]what was interesting about the status of Abu Talib is that he

[4:15]represented the Beni Hashim even though he was not the eldest son

[4:19]of Abdul Muttalib he had brothers older than him and this was

[4:25]actually very unusual in Arabia to have a younger brother Lee the

[4:28]tribe but this shows you how respected abu talib was that's number

[4:33]one number two he was poor unlike some of his brother is

[4:39]like an Abbas Abbas was rich he had wealth but Abu Talib

[4:45]did not have wealth he was a poor man yet he commanded

[4:46]so much respect it was nearly impossible to be respected in Arabia

[4:54]if you were a poor person but Abu Talib commanded that respect

[4:56]in fact him a man even have you thought about he said

[5:00]I'm in one narration he says no one before my father Abu

[5:06]Talib who was poor like him was respected like him he commanded

[5:10]so much respect he represented the many Hashem in Mecca he was

[5:15]also a very eloquent man he has so many beautiful lines of

[5:20]poetry that even have survived until today if I might even never

[5:24]thought about his Salaam would advise the people to learn his poems

[5:27]to memorize his poems he would say there is so much knowledge

[5:34]there is so much faith and truth in the poetry of Abu

[5:37]Talib now when the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa ala declares his mission

[5:43]Abu Talib makes it a point to defend the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

[5:51]wa ala from perish no one defended the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

[5:55]like Abu Talib didn't perish even though he was an old man

[5:59]Abu Talib was 35 years older than the Prophet at the time

[6:04]of the birthday when the Prophet was receiving revelation Abu Talib was

[6:07]75 years old he was a man of honor and respect suddenly

[6:11]Abu Talib comes and he defends his nephew who's 35 younger than

[6:18]him younger than him this was something unheard of in Arabia for

[6:22]a man of abu talib stature to do but this all indicates

[6:25]his deep faith in the mission of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

[6:32]I want to share with you some of the sacrifices of Abu

[6:37]Talib unfortunately until today you find most Muslims have betrayed abu talib

[6:43]as we shall see soon most Muslims today believe that he died

[6:47]as a disbeliever he died as a pagan even though he was

[6:51]the most person who sacrificed for the religion of Islam show me

[6:56]one companion in Mecca who sacrificed like a boot on him did

[7:03]he sacrificed his position he sacrificed his tribe he sacrificed his reputation

[7:07]for the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa island show me one other companion

[7:12]who did that in Mecca like a Buddha Abu Talib did he

[7:15]was a man full of faith in the sixth or seventh year

[7:22]after the birth the Quraysh decided to boycott the Prophet those early

[7:27]Muslims and the many Hashem and basically they gathered together to sign

[7:33]a document they realized look Benny Hashem is a powerful tribe if

[7:37]we fight them if any tribe boycotts them they'll retaliate so let's

[7:42]gather together and all of us let's sign a document to boycott

[7:48]them 40 of the elders of courage they gather they sign a

[7:53]document to boycott the bani hashim no one has the right to

[7:59]do any business transactions with them there is no intermarriage with the

[8:03]bani hashim we have to boycott them we don't allow any tribe

[8:07]to come and speak to them they must be completely boycotted they

[8:13]should not have economic freedom in Mecca no political freedom no religious

[8:19]freedom and they had mansoura been our krama draft that resolution and

[8:23]they signed on it then they hung it on the Kaaba so

[8:25]everyone could see it now later on they were concerned that someone

[8:29]might steal this document so what did they do they took this

[8:34]document they put it in a safe box they stored it in

[8:38]the house of the mother of Abu jahil Abu jahil the enemy

[8:42]of the Prophet he had a mother they kept this document in

[8:45]her house so it would be safe no one would steal or

[8:50]destroy that document for three years my dear brothers and sisters the

[8:55]prophet sallallaahu Annie Juana and those early Muslims they suffered they suffered

[8:59]in sherab ABI talib in the valley of abu talib this is

[9:05]a blessed valley which was at the foot of the mountain of

[9:08]Ibuka base in Mecca right by Masjid al-haram today in fact it's

[9:14]part of Missoula Hara this land belonged to Abdul Muttalib the Prophet

[9:19]was born in this valley in fact his house with Lady Khadija

[9:24]was in this place Lady Fatima Ali salam was born in this

[9:29]place as well they boycotted them and they told them look this

[9:32]area of this valley you have no right to step outside of

[9:37]it complete boycott you have to stay there for three years those

[9:40]early Muslims had to stay in that Valley by Masjid al-haram and

[9:47]that piece of property sometimes they almost starve to death they ran

[9:51]out of food they could not buy or sell food sometimes the

[9:56]mushrikeen they would hear the children crying from the pain of hunger

[10:00]and starvation some of them would feel bad for them they would

[10:04]say come on let's give them some food these poor children are

[10:08]dying they're eating grass they're eating desert plants just so they could

[10:15]survive but the evil members of grace they said no they have

[10:19]to suffer what Abu Talib has to suffer either he gives us

[10:23]Mohammed and we'll get this over with and we'll stop this boycott

[10:30]or it will continue they were very three difficult years you know

[10:34]how the Muslims survived during those three years one was the wealth

[10:38]of lady Khadija lisanna through her wealth Allah saved those Muslims they

[10:42]were almost starving number two Imam I'll even ever thought about he

[10:47]said I'm secretly at night he would go and get some food

[10:51]they had actually appointed guards Watchmen to make sure no one goes

[10:59]into the valley to give them food Imam Ali Ali said I'm

[11:01]secretly in the darkness of the night he would go and bring

[11:03]them some food some narrations also indicate the nephew of ladies had

[11:09]a jolly Salam okay me been Hossam using her money he would

[11:12]sometimes go and get her food and she would give it to

[11:17]the Muslims now Abu Talib was very concerned about the prophet sallallaahu

[11:21]Allah he wanted you know what he would do every night he

[11:24]would have the Prophet changed the location of where he would sleep

[11:31]and first he would ask him am Ali Ali said I'm to

[11:33]go and sleep in the prophet's bed in the prophet's place so

[11:38]that if someone makes a surprise attack the prophets and allahu ala

[11:42]wanted not be harmed he would put one night imam ali one

[11:44]night to Jaffa one night one of his other sons to defend

[11:50]the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa ali from any surprise attacks and he

[11:54]would command his sons by the way to join the Prophet 100

[11:57]states once Abu Talib saw the Prophet praying along with him a

[12:04]Malian lady Khadijah the first Muslims in Islam he told his son

[12:07]Jaffa he told him my son Jeff or go and join your

[12:12]cousin go and join the Prophet sale Jana habbaniyah make this is

[12:16]Abu Talib he would put his own sons at risk to defend

[12:21]the Prophet sallallahu aleyhi 1 and this is well documented in our

[12:24]history now at the end of the three years the Prophet receives

[12:28]revelation he comes to Abu Talib he tells him my uncle Allah

[12:33]subhana WA Ta'ala has revealed to me now that there is a

[12:36]termite that sent by God it went to the document it basically

[12:42]ate all the documents except the name of Allah and the document

[12:47]Abu Talib comes when he comes out and he wants to talk

[12:53]to him the members of Quraysh they say oh poor guy he

[12:56]can't handle the starvation anymore so he's here to negotiate with us

[13:00]he tells them yes I'm here to negotiate I have a deal

[13:05]to make with you where is that document that you sign to

[13:11]boycott us bring it here I'll tell you what my offer is

[13:13]they say it's stored in the house of the mother of Abuja

[13:19]he said go and bring it they bring it it was sealed

[13:21]completely sealed with their own seals he told them do you recognize

[13:26]that this is your document they said yes has anyone touched it

[13:28]no it's been sealed and this it's still locked nobody has touched

[13:32]it he said I've got a deal my nephew just informed me

[13:38]now that God sent a termite to eat this document except the

[13:43]name of Allah if he's truthful you will end this boycott and

[13:47]that's a sign that God is with us and that he's on

[13:53]the path of the truth if he is lying here I'll give

[13:56]him to you do whatever you want with him they were ecstatic

[14:01]because some of them didn't believe in God they said yes that's

[14:05]a great deal let's open this document when they opened the document

[14:09]they saw the termites had eaten all parts of the document except

[14:15]the name of Allah subhana WA Ta'ala because the Mashona came they

[14:18]would write the name of Allah they worshipped idols but they also

[14:20]recognized the name of Allah so everything in that document was eaten

[14:25]except the name of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala and everyone publicly saw

[14:32]this they had no choice but to stop that boycott for a

[14:34]while look at the Iman of Abu Talib see how much he

[14:40]trusted the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa he did not have a shadow

[14:42]of doubt that the Prophet was telling him the truth and therefore

[14:45]he walked up to them and he made this deal and through

[14:50]this way Abu Talib ended the boycott and he basically saved the

[14:54]life of the Prophet and those early Muslims a few observations here

[15:00]my dear brothers and sisters as we examine the faith of Abu

[15:04]Talib because tonight I would I would like to share with you

[15:07]pieces of evidence that indicate the legacy of this man how this

[15:13]man sacrificed for the religion of Islam a man full of faith

[15:16]this is a point of contention between the Shia and the Sunnis

[15:21]most Sunni schools of thought most Sunni scholars maintain that Abu Talib

[15:26]died as an unbeliever and there are very disturbing hadith and Buhari

[15:30]that I'll share with you and I will critique and evaluate they

[15:34]say that he died as an unbeliever the Prophet begged him believe

[15:37]in God he said no and he died as a mushrik let's

[15:41]try to see if Abu Talib was a man of faith when

[15:46]we look at those three years my dear brothers and sisters first

[15:49]of all notice that these companions who later became the caliphs Abu

[15:56]Bakr Omar and Othman show me one single hadith from any Muslim

[16:04]books even I'll accept a weak hadith with a weak chain that

[16:08]shows one day Abu Bakr Omar and Othman they brought some food

[16:12]to the Prophet Sal Allahu Allahu Allah and those early Muslims who

[16:15]were starving to death show me one act of sacrifice they did

[16:19]in Mecca show me one hadith where were they they're so concerned

[16:23]about Islam the best companions the Prophet loved them so much how

[16:27]come we don't see any trace of them by the way they

[16:30]were not included in the boycott because they were not from Beni

[16:33]Hashem but he Hashem were boycotted show me one time abu by

[16:36]just trying to give the prophet food it's trying to give those

[16:40]early muslims food one time what happened to those sacrifices subhanAllah look

[16:45]at Muslim history we raised individuals who did not do anything for

[16:50]the Prophet sallallaahu anyone in Mecca and as for those who sacrificed

[16:54]they consider them kafir they consider Abu Talib to be the kafir

[16:57]they put him a Mariana Salaam number four when he would risk

[17:02]his life every single night for the Prophet sallallaahu honey honey show

[17:05]me one instance in which they risk their life in Mecca where

[17:08]were those three during the three years of the valley of abu

[17:12]talib when the Prophet was boycotted when they were eating desert shrubs

[17:17]almost starving where were they now look at Abu Talib during these

[17:24]three years my dear brothers and sisters one argument that they tell

[17:27]you yes we agree he defended the Prophet no doubt about that

[17:30]but it was because out of his emotional ties the Prophet is

[17:37]his nephew and so naturally he wanted to defend his nephew not

[17:40]because he believed in the message of the Prophet this is their

[17:46]argument our response to this argument is the following well first of

[17:48]all the Prophet had other on because how come Abbas didn't use

[17:54]his family ties to defend the prophets in Mecca how come Abu

[17:57]Lahab was against the Prophet by the way one of the chief

[18:00]mobilizers in this boycott was a boon ahem the other uncle of

[18:06]the Prophet so that tells you that no Abu Talib wasn't just

[18:09]acting out of emotion it was out of belief because the other

[18:13]other his other brothers they did not support the Prophet sallallaahu anyone

[18:17]that's number one number two my dear brothers and sisters if Abu

[18:21]Talib acted out of concern for his family because the Prophet was

[18:26]his family I'll ask you the following question if you have a

[18:35]nephew and you're putting your own sons at risk to defend that

[18:39]nephew what does this review does this reveal that you're acting just

[18:43]out of family concerns if you're acting out of family concerns then

[18:47]why put your son's at risk your sons are closer to you

[18:51]than your nephew have you heard of someone willing to put his

[18:54]son's at risk so his nephew survives who doesn't that show me

[18:58]who doesn't that your son's are closer to you your sons are

[19:01]dearer to you the fact that Abu Talib would put Imam I

[19:07]need Jafar others at risk for the sake of the Prophet Sal

[19:09]Allahu Allahu Allah indicates that the Prophet that Abu Talib believed in

[19:13]the message of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa otherwise it doesn't make

[19:18]sense how is he acting emotionally if you want to be emotional

[19:21]with your family then you protect your own sons you don't put

[19:27]them at risk that's number one number two when you find what

[19:31]Abu Talib did you find that he put his own tribe at

[19:37]risk Mannu Hashem had a very special status in the holy city

[19:40]of Mecca all of Peleus respected Banu Hashim before the religion of

[19:45]Islam why did Abu Talib jeopardize that amazing status that Benny Hashem

[19:52]did for the Prophet people now started attacking him there was a

[19:55]boycott yes he did lose that position he was so respected before

[20:01]the religion of Islam but because he's with the profit Depeche saw

[20:05]him as the culprit he was an obstacle in their way they

[20:09]would have killed the profit years before that had it not been

[20:13]for abu talib why would abu talib do that if he did

[20:16]not believe in the message of the prophet sallallaahu anyone tell me

[20:25]he did not believe in this religion then why did he give

[20:30]up his position in Mecca to defend the Prophet why did he

[20:33]put his sons at risk all these are clear indications beyond any

[20:37]doubt that he was indeed a believer I would like to share

[20:42]with you some lines of poetry that amou believed himself composed this

[20:47]is well documented in history which shows that he was full of

[20:50]Eman in the oneness of Allah Spano Ta'ala and he also believed

[20:55]that the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu aleyhi wa was a messenger sent by

[20:59]allah he was a poet he has hundreds of poems in which

[21:04]he expresses his faith I would like to share just a couple

[21:07]of lines here in one line of poetry Abu Talib States Malika

[21:11]nasi lace allahu sharia khan who and Wahab will move deal more

[21:18]I do he says the king of people is the one who

[21:20]has no partner he has no shariq he is the one who

[21:25]gives he is the one who created us and to him we

[21:30]shall return does this sound like someone who doesn't believe in God

[21:33]and the oneness of God does this sound like someone who worships

[21:37]idols my brothers and sisters in another line of poetry when he

[21:44]met then a joshi the king of Habashi Abyssinia this is what

[21:47]he told him at Alamo man can hope she Anna Muhammadan Nabi

[21:52]and Camus Sowell mercy him Anna Maria me o king of Abyssinia

[21:59]do you know that Mohammed is a prophet just like Moses and

[22:02]Jesus the Son of Mary are these the words of a disbeliever

[22:08]someone who did not believe in the message of Islam listen to

[22:12]this one and another poem he says yeah Shahid allah alayhi a

[22:15]fresh head in near Aladin and Nabil Ahmed mausoleum from Mohammed his

[22:26]basic is basically saying witness everyone witness that I am on the

[22:31]religion of Amman how can we accuse a person like this to

[22:36]die on the wrong path to die as a disbeliever my dear

[22:38]brothers and sisters you know one thing that's unfortunate and other schools

[22:42]of thought they attacked the followers of any debate they say you

[22:49]you know condemn and curse some companions you're critical of some companions

[22:54]the fur of the foremost companion of the prophets in Mecca was

[22:56]Abu Talib and they curse him today I've seen them they stand

[22:59]on their pulpits and they curse him and they say his head

[23:04]is boiling in hell these are their words about Abu Talib the

[23:07]first companion of Rasulullah sallallahu you are the foremost companion of the

[23:13]Prophet and he's saying these words of faith we have hadith and

[23:17]our sources and Sunni and Shia sources in which Allah Subhanahu WA

[23:24]Ta'ala revealed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa knew he told him

[23:29]jobra l told him yara saleh her lomatin are ala son ben

[23:39]saleh three have been protected from hellfire one is your father you

[24:18]by the name of an ayah he asked the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

[24:23]wa he told him matter Julie Abu Talib what do you hope

[24:29]for Abu Talib remember this is not a hadith our sources it's

[24:33]in sunny sources what do you hope for abu talib the Prophet

[24:35]says I hope for him in : hey pal couldn't hair our

[25:31]belong to other muslims another piece of evidence is that the prophet

[25:36]sallallaahu hollywood when abu talha passed away he walked in his funeral

[25:40]in sunday schools of thought they believe it's haram for you to

[25:46]walk in the funeral of a pagan of a mushrik if Abu

[25:47]Talib was Amish like why did the Prophet walk ISM in his

[25:53]funeral what does that indicate another hadith which has been mentioned in

[25:58]our sources and also in Sunni sources for example as solutely narrates

[26:03]this the prophet salallahu alaihe I said I will do a shafa'ah

[26:07]for my uncle Abu Talib such that the entire humanity will be

[26:14]shocked finale I'm me ABI talib Jafar attend yeah Abu Manhattan on

[26:21]these are the words of the prophet sallallaahu anyone yet unfortunately when

[26:27]we discuss the legacy of Abu Talib this man of faith who

[26:31]gave everything for Samir Allah you know these days sometimes we go

[26:38]through a difficulty sometimes if I want to be a practicing Muslim

[26:41]observe my limitations observe Islamic business law interest observe the head job

[26:48]I go through some difficulties sometimes I have to you know go

[26:52]to another job interview a third one a fourth one to get

[26:55]the job because of how I look if I have a Muslim

[26:58]name if I'm wearing her job my dear brothers and sisters look

[27:02]at those early Muslims how they sacrificed did I have to ever

[27:05]starve and my family starved for this religion for three years in

[27:09]share Babel eylem abu talib and his children would almost starve for

[27:14]the religion of Islam and those early Muslims the sacrifices today are

[27:19]nothing compared to those sacrifices if you look at our lives today

[27:22]we're kings my dear brothers and sisters we live in blessings yes

[28:10]baba and man are usually men who demongo such that his brain

[28:17]will be boiling in that hell he won't go into the depths

[28:19]of hell so yes I'll benefit him my dear brothers and sisters

[28:24]let's be rational here what kind of hadith is this on the

[28:26]one hand the Prophet says yes I'll do in Russia fire and

[28:31]Allah will accept my safar if Allah accepts the shofar of his

[28:34]messenger he's going to have the brain of that person boil from

[28:37]the hell what kind of Shiva is this either the Prophet rejects

[28:41]along rejects the chiffon I already accepts it if Allah rejects said

[28:45]Allah doesn't reject the chiffon of His Messenger if Allah accepts it

[28:49]Allah forgives that person but for a lot to go half way

[29:00]nonsense my dear brothers and sisters and millions of Muslims throughout history

[32:44]low-profile with his Islam why because he figured this was the most

[32:49]powerful way to defend the Prophet because that way he could be

[32:54]somewhat neutral and objective if he were to openly declare his Islam

[32:57]but I should tell him ok you're just one of his followers

[32:59]forget it we want to negotiate with you we're going to come

[33:04]and fight you but Abu Talib in order to always negotiate on

[33:06]behalf of the Prophet to be objective and neutral he did not

[33:36]sin in the eyes of those muslims so-called Muslims like Bukhari and

[33:41]others he had one crime Abu Talib that made them accuse him

[33:47]of being in hell and his brain boiling and so on and

[33:49]so forth they looked at the life of Imam Ali Allah's Salam

[33:56]they could not find a way to slander him so they came

[33:58]up with this way we cannot touch I leave never eat on

[34:01]it because there's so much evidence he was a man of faith

[34:03]so let's go and slander his father the only crime of Abu

[34:08]Talib is that his son was Ali ibn ABI Talib we ask

[34:12]Allah subhana Allah to bless the legacy of Abu Talib this amazing

[34:15]man we ask Allah subhana WA Ta'ala to resurrect us with him

[34:18]and the Holy Prophet SAW Allahu Allahu Allah and Imam Ali ibn

[34:23]ABI Taleb may Allah spano to Allah illuminate our hearts Azam allahu

[34:28]ala sayyidina muhammadin wa ala nabina pas he mean
