[0:21]Alhamdulillah.
[0:23]foreign.
[0:52][Music] [Music] For the purification of the souls, the enlightenment of the
[1:17]hearts, the acceptance of the deeds, and for the hastening of the
[1:20]reappearance of the awaited savioral shar.
[1:23]Enlighten your souls in the atmosphere with the recitation of salawat upon
[1:35]respected elders, sisters and brothers, scholars, this is a beautiful dua ofam.
[1:49]supplication that asks for three things, but one of them of the
[1:56]utmost importance because it's being taken lightly in our practices and day-to-day
[2:01]communication.
[2:02]The duas of make up the most supplications within the holy Quran.
[2:15]He was an individual who absolutely adored to us everything nearly that
[2:20]he did in the Quran he would supplicate.
[2:23]Subhan Allah.
[2:26]You'll find loving to speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[2:29]When the Almighty says, when Allah says to him, you are now
[2:39]being appointed an imam after you have been appointed a prophet and
[2:45]a messenger and a friend of Allah.
[2:47]When Allah says to him, now that you are an imam for
[2:49]all of mankind, what does he respond with a dua?
[2:53]Please, ya Allah, I want from my progeny to also have the
[3:00]im.
[3:00]Similarly, when we find Ibraimisam being praised in the Quran in so
[3:04]many occasions like chapter 14 known as surah Ibraim, he is referred
[3:08]to as an um Ibraim.
[3:11]He's an entire nation by himself.
[3:14]Ibraimisam is called the father of the prophets.
[3:19]Ibraimisam is known as one of the one of the he was
[3:28]forbearant.
[3:29]Allah means complete means going back to Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[3:34]So much of these praise is because of his status but also
[3:37]how he loved to supplicate and Allah loved to place his supplications
[3:43]in the Quran and you'll find many of them in the holy
[3:46]book.
[3:46]For example, if Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells you to do something
[3:50]like for example something that you do not understand like leave your
[3:53]family in the desert as he said to Ibraim now you leave
[3:59]your son is and your wife in a barren desert there is
[4:03]nothing there nothing no houses no buildings no food nowhere to sleep
[4:14]no water and Allah says to he says you say you go
[4:16]and you leave your wife and your child here.
[4:19]Some of us may turn to Allah and say, "Ya Allah, please
[4:27]tell me why." Or we might object or we might resist or
[4:31]we might ask Allah to give them some things.
[4:37]Ibraimatam would supplicate.
[4:41]He would ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala a number of things in
[4:46]this particular objective.
[4:46]Yes.
[4:48]He would say what the first thing he would say is ya
[4:53]Allah I'm leaving my community my family here and my child and
[4:59]my mother my wife and I want them to establish salah.
[5:04]I want them to pray.
[5:05]That's the number one thing he felt he need.
[5:11]Make the hearts of people go towards them.
[5:16]Who?
[5:17]Which people should go towards whom?
[5:21]On the apparent understanding people going towards is to help them.
[5:26]Yet the B said there is another deeper meaning of the dua
[5:34]of Ibraim.
[5:31]Our fifth im Muhammad Albatam.
[5:35][Music] says, "We are by Allah the dua of Ibraim." We we
[5:54]says, "Let the hearts of people go towards them." Says, "Ibraim when
[6:01]he left his family, he was not concerned about his son or
[6:05]his wife.
[6:06]He was concerned about and im he would say ya Allah I
[6:12]want the hearts of mankind toward to run towards from before the
[6:18]birth of the this was the intention of this great prophet that
[6:22]he sought to establish the tenants of Allah and by the way
[6:26]if you look at his duas related to thea you'll find that
[6:29]they have a very close connection to meaning what Ibraimisam is told
[6:34]by Allah to build his holy sacred house.
[6:37]If you're told to build the Kaa, what do you do?
[6:41]You're concerned how you build it.
[6:43]You're concerned by the structure, the height, how beautiful it is.
[6:48]And both building their concern is what?
[6:53]Speaking to Allah and supplicating.
[7:00]They are raising the foundations.
[7:01]Why?
[7:02]Adam he built the then because of the flooding at the time
[7:08]of no only the foundations remained later when Ibraim comes back his
[7:12]now son is older he's commanded you and your son build thea
[7:15]when he's building thea he and his son are speaking supplicating making
[7:23]dua ya Allah we are building your holy house we want one
[7:29]thing we want you to accept our deeds these holy nights of
[7:35]month of Ramadan.
[7:35]One of the most important duas we should make every day especially
[7:41]on the last night and on the day of Eid is this
[7:45]dua we have observed fast.
[7:50]Alhamdulillah we have come for programs and those who have attended today
[7:54]you deserve a special praise because after 23rd after the night of
[7:59]23rd everybody thinks the month of Ramadan is over.
[8:02]When finishes, everyone goes into Eid mode.
[8:06]It's last seven days of Ramadan.
[8:08]It's as if it doesn't exist.
[8:11]Now we are preparing for Eid with seven days remaining.
[8:13]But the holy prophet of Islam says the holy month is divided
[8:18]into three parts.
[8:19]The first part, first 10 days is mercy.
[8:22]The second is forgiveness.
[8:25]The last part is release from the chastisement of hell.
[8:27]So the potential still exists.
[8:32]The is still there.
[8:33]We say I have attended and I have come.
[8:36]I want what the my deeds to be accepted.
[8:40]How desperate we are for our deeds to be accepted.
[8:46]I go for I help somebody for example I teach.
[8:48]I practice anal.
[8:50]The thing that must exist in my mind is what Ibraim was
[8:54]saying.
[8:54]I am building the cabba.
[8:57]It doesn't matter how thea looks.
[9:00]What matters if Allah accepts it.
[9:07]Ibraim builds the has an important connotation to where he stood to
[9:16]build the has an important connection to in which sense we are
[9:19]told that the holy 12 im will reappear or will announce his
[9:32]reappearance between the and Ibraim his back will be on the Kaa
[9:39]and he will announce the reappearance but before the holy 12th I
[9:44]immaba is very well established isn't it the recognition that emerges is
[9:52]Ibraim knew thisa is the direction of salah for believers and it
[9:56]is where they will come for but it will also be the
[10:03]focus for the of why it's the birth of the Imam who
[10:05]is the only one to be born inside thea from the beginning
[10:11]until the end of time no one shall be born in thea
[10:15]other than the commander of the faithful somebody said I was sitting
[10:18]in thea next to it and I was looking then I remembered
[10:21]that Amir was born inside.
[10:23]But I wondered why did Allah choose him to be born inside
[10:29]the holy cabba?
[10:31]Why not somebody else?
[10:31]Then he said, I figured something out.
[10:34]Something came to my mind.
[10:37]Maybe it was intuition.
[10:38]He said, I thought if the bride is from the house of
[10:47]Rasool, the groom has to be from the house of Allah.
[10:49]The bride is from the prophet's house.
[10:51]The groom is from Allah's house.
[10:55]That is the only match that could happen.
[10:56]Therefore, I remember one of our brothers who is a half of
[11:04]Quran.
[11:05]His name is Ahmed and he came to London about 15 years
[11:07]ago.
[11:08]He is Iraqi but he is blind.
[11:09]He has never seen in his life.
[11:10]He said I was born blind.
[11:13]I spoke to him and so he gave me the story himself.
[11:18]Not I am not quoting it from a source or from Google.
[11:23]He gave me this himself.
[11:24]He said I am a Quran and one year I won the
[11:30]second prize international competition in Arabia in Saudi today and I was
[11:36]given as a present as a gift the opportunity to go inside
[11:39]the he said I have never seen anything in my life.
[11:43]I don't know how anything looks like in reality.
[11:45]I was born blind.
[11:45]So one of the one of the shia I held his hand
[11:48]he said we went inside the cab said as soon as I
[11:52]entered the cabba I began to walk towards a light some so
[11:57]the brother with me he said where are you taking me he
[11:59]said just follow I'm just walking he said I went until the
[12:04]light was too strong too strong I could not walk anymore I
[12:06]sat down then I looked at and I turned towards him and
[12:12]I said where are we inside the cabba I want to know
[12:13]why is there so much night.
[12:17]He said, "I could hear my brother crying.
[12:19]I could hear him." So I said to him, "Why are you
[12:20]crying?" He says wallah we are next to the corner where the
[12:25]crack happened in which entered to give birth to today the nasis
[12:38]the haters of the haters of the can and criticize and attack
[12:46]us and kill us and they have done so from the beginning
[12:49]whether they like it or not, every single day, five times a
[12:56]day, they face a place in which Allah made Ali be born
[12:59]inside.
[13:00]Whether you like it or not, whether you that is a reality
[13:09]that is pure, but it was honored by the birth of Ali
[13:12]inside it.
[13:14]Yes, there is no doubt about this connection between Ibraimisam and the
[13:20]holya and when it comes to a beautiful dua in the Quran
[13:24]that I'd like to focus tonight for a few minutes.
[13:27]This dua is in surah sh and it is from chapter 26
[13:33]83 to 84.
[13:36]Here Quran tells us that Ibraimisam asks for a few things three
[13:41]things.
[13:42]Please focus what he asks for.
[13:43]The first thing that Ibraimisam says is now those who speak Arabic
[13:55]might think Ibraim is asking for meaning rule, governorship, power whereas in
[14:01]reality this comes from the word or which means wisdom.
[14:06]Quran says is asking to bestow him this wisdom this hikma that
[14:15]you and I seek.
[14:17]The Quran says whomsoever has been given wisdom has been given great
[14:27]benefits.
[14:28]Allah is the source of wisdom.
[14:30]Allah is the one who gives hikma and the Quran comes forward
[14:37]and gives us examples of individuals who had wisdom.
[14:40]Lman is known as alim for example the prophets had wisdom had
[14:47]wisdom.
[14:47]You and I are able to attain wisdom.
[14:52]What is wisdom in he defines wisdom in such a manner.
[14:57]He says it is the true understanding which enables you and I
[15:04]to argue something which will enable the truth to be clarified.
[15:07]meaning that it's using intelligence, understanding and clarification of the H.
[15:13]And I remember in history there were some brilliant individuals who utilized
[15:18]moments to highlight wisdom to highlight how they are inspired by the
[15:25]B to clarify the and the truth.
[15:29]There's a man by the name of Josie very well known who
[15:34]died in 7th century after hijra his year of death was 654
[15:43]so about 800 years ago this joi see sometimes people try to
[15:47]copy he sat on the member and said ask me before you
[15:56]lose But you see only can say it and no one can
[16:03]defeat him.
[16:04]Whereas this man when he said it a lady stood up.
[16:08]She looked at him and she said to him initially.
[16:12]She said to him, "Is it true that Ali went and traveled
[16:19]to Mad to attend and to take place the funeral of Salman
[16:25]Ali Muhammad Ali?" He said yes that is established in narrations.
[16:29]He went all the way and he took part in the funeral
[16:32]miraculously.
[16:33]He went there.
[16:34]She said and therefore it is to highlight the importance of Salman.
[16:41]He said yes Salman important.
[16:43]She said is it true that the body of man for 3
[16:47]days it was there in Medina and Ali did not bury it.
[16:51]So he looked at her and said to her who gave you
[16:58]permission to leave the house you should have stayed in your house.
[17:01]If you left the house without your husband's permission, Allah's plan is
[17:09]on you.
[17:11]And if you left the house without his permission, you know, how
[17:16]could you leave the house without your husband's permission?
[17:19]She looked up to him and said, "Can I ask you, is
[17:24]it allowed to leave the house without the husband's permission?" No.
[17:27]She said then how did Aisha leave the house and lead and
[17:32]lead the battle of J?
[17:34]You tell me was the prophet happy with her doing this.
[17:40]It is said Josie went to his house and never left for
[17:45]40 days because of shame.
[17:46]40 days he stayed inside the house.
[17:48]Wisdom is the ability to make some that we ponder and think
[17:52]and think to understand and come to the truth through highlighting some
[17:59]key aspects.
[17:59]The idea that the Quran present is learn this dua like all
[18:03]the duas we've been discussing you'll see a difference in your life.
[18:06]Even if you for example learn the translation in Portuguese or in
[18:11]Udu or in any language English means join me with the righteous.
[18:16]When you and I are praying in when we do the we
[18:23]say do you agree?
[18:28]Do you agree?
[18:35]Do you agree?
[18:42]There is a salam that every single day happens hundreds of millions
[18:52]of times towards those who are righteous and Allah loves this quality
[18:59]amongst the individual to be a good doer to be a to
[19:01]be a to make a positive difference yes towards the lives of
[19:09]other human beings.
[19:09]The Quran says when you and I die, we ask Allah to
[19:15]return back to pray.
[19:16]No, we ask Allah to come back to give what?
[19:21]To help somebody.
[19:24]Yes.
[19:31]Quran says when you and I die we ask Allah ya Allah
[19:36]I want to go back so that I do good deeds I
[19:40]do yes to be called to be called the righteous individual is
[19:47]one of the biggest honors that a human being can attain and
[19:51]the Quran praises the praises the good doers those who seek every
[19:56]opportunity to make a positive difference.
[19:59]Now somebody asks why should you and I be of the if
[20:06]the dua says ya Allah join me with the righteous here the
[20:09]righteous means the prophets but to be joined with them we have
[20:13]to learn from them to apply the in our lives why because
[20:19]we are told in the Quran the best of the after the
[20:24]holy prophet is none other In chapter 66 when Allah subhana t
[20:39]comes forward and highlights the story what happened with the two wives
[20:42]of the holy prophet according to Imkari they were and they conspired
[20:47]against the prophet yes academically speaking that is story that's found and
[20:51]subhan allah they came in the Quran when one of them said
[20:56]to the other, "Say to the prophet when he comes, you have
[21:01]a bad breath because of the so with each other.
[21:15]Every time the prophet would come to them, they would say, "You
[21:19]have a bad smell." Yes.
[21:20]When the prophet looked at them and said, "Why are you both
[21:25]conspiring against me?
[21:26]Why are you doing this?" Do you know what the response the
[21:29]Quran says?
[21:33]Who told you speaking to the prophet?
[21:37]The prophet of course is told by Allah.
[21:40]Subhan Allah.
[21:39]Allah keeps it in the Quran just to remind who knows the
[21:43]Quran and who doesn't.
[21:45]Yes.
[21:45]Who told you we are doing this conspiracy?
[21:48]Yes.
[21:49]Now Allah subhana t then goes on to say if he wishes
[21:55]Allah the prophet would divorce divorce you but Allah the and would
[22:01]protect him the holy prophet in a hadith which is narrated in
[22:05]literature when he's asked he comes forward and says and he points
[22:18]to and says people, this man is the most righteous of the
[22:22]believers.
[22:29]Every time we hear this, my respected sisters and brothers, when we
[22:36]hear that theam and of course on the holy prophet of Islam
[22:39]has these wonderful qualities, it is a onus on us more than
[22:46]anyone else if we are truly in the line of B to
[22:47]adopt these qualities in our lives.
[22:51]One of the manifestations is not only to help others but to
[22:58]do Today there could be a problem in some communities especially youth
[23:07]I'm not saying will be a problem in the future that some
[23:13]of our youth they say I stick to one person said to
[23:18]me at least be grateful to Allah that I am waking up
[23:20]for you you're telling me to At least I w I'm doing
[23:28]my salah.
[23:30]Yes.
[23:28]At least I am coming to mosque.
[23:33]You're telling me which is there is an attitude that is unfortunately
[23:37]sometimes negative towards Musta.
[23:39]They say it's for the molanas and for the really pious ones
[23:46]to do recommended deeds.
[23:47]How much are we missing from the phenomenal reward that exists for
[23:52]Mustabat that if we begin to open our eyes, we can see
[23:58]it truly can change our lives.
[24:00]Simple thing in salah, our salah will not be accepted except if
[24:08]there is and meaning attentiveness and presence of the heart.
[24:12]However, because of the mercy of Allah, the imam have told us
[24:14]inith that the parts of salah that are not accepted because we
[24:20]are thinking about lunch or dinner and in the month of Ramadanar
[24:23]or we're thinking about something else, we can compensate and salah will
[24:28]be accepted if we perform and 26 million people go to every
[24:38]alhamdulillah or There is a recommendation one of the five signs of
[24:44]the believers.
[24:45]Yes.
[24:46]In the of this hadith says what?
[24:56]That the sign of believer is five.
[24:58]Isn't it?
[24:59]The idea of using Yes.
[25:07]Isn't it where all the time with mindedness?
[25:09]What else is there when you and I to wear ring on
[25:19]the right praying 51 is mentioned as a sign of a believer
[25:22]of now of course most of us may not be able to
[25:26]perform 51.
[25:28]I know it's difficult to pray the it's not always easy but
[25:32]to try listen to this from Allah subhana wa tala it will
[25:37]change the way you look at theith says my servant tries to
[25:46]get close to me using the means what supplementary extra salah extrabat
[25:58]When he or she prays so much or tries to put it
[26:03]as part of their program of life, I begin to love them
[26:09]more.
[26:09]Allah says now if I begin to love him, what will happen?
[26:15]He he says I will become the eyes that he or she
[26:19]sees.
[26:20]I will become the ears that he or she listens.
[26:21]I will become the tongue that he or she speaks.
[26:28]The moment he or she supplicates, I will answer them.
[26:35]And the moment he asks me, I will respond to them.
[26:38]This is the power of and sometimes it becomes a habit and
[26:43]it's good.
[26:45]Ramadan is for us to reset.
[26:50]Reset meaning what?
[26:50]I should not leave month of Ramadan and I am the same
[26:54]as beginning when I entered the month.
[26:55]I must be a better human being.
[26:58]Meaning it's a training assault course.
[27:00]When the first day of Eid comes Shaw and I attend here
[27:03]Allah and I recite dua of dua of Eid and next day
[27:08]I go back to my normal habits.
[27:09]I say to Shaitan, welcome back here.
[27:11]Come, come.
[27:13]I'm ready.
[27:15]I missed you one month.
[27:17]It's been one month and if I'm able to say no to
[27:24]the temptations ofan and do extra the longer I can keep it's
[27:27]a sign of and the acceptance of my what my fasting and
[27:32]my the final thing here in this dua that Ibraim asks yes
[27:35]here he asks about an important quality that unfortunately today we are
[27:41]strugg struggling he says I want a tongue that is truthful and
[27:51]I am remembered later on as what?
[27:52]as someone who is a role model.
[27:55]There are number of understandings here.
[27:59]It is highlighted the importance of and truthfulness that plays a pivotal
[28:03]role in the success of human beings in our lives but importantly
[28:06]in a I want your attention for the next few minutes.
[28:10]Why?
[28:10]Because there is a disease, there is an unfortunate illness that's spreading
[28:16]in societies all across the world due to social media, due to
[28:19]movies, due to soap operas, due to conversations, due to the ease
[28:27]of communication and that is lying easily.
[28:29]Today statistics have shown on average every human being lies at least
[28:34]once or twice a day.
[28:38]5% of the world population are known as serial liars.
[28:43]Serial liars.
[28:45]Yes.
[28:46]And lying has become something which is a habit.
[28:51]And some people are in the form of deceit in their minds
[28:54]that they say I can deceive, I can fabricate, I can say
[29:00]things which are not true and then I ask forgiveness from Allah.
[29:03]The 11th holy imam says how wrong are we if we think
[29:07]like this he says all the evil everything everything is put in
[29:15]one house meaning what kind of evil fornication stealing killing all the
[29:23]bad deeds in one house and the keys to evil is lying
[29:31]everything starts with when we utter a kadib a liars.
[29:37]Quran comes forward and condemns in the most strongest of ways individuals
[29:43]who what who are not seeking truthfulness honesty and to apply it
[29:52]in their lives.
[29:50]Allah subhana wa ta'ala says over 100 ayat in the Quran talks
[29:57]about lying and Allah says there will never be guidance for somebody
[30:04]who is cons consistently a habitual liar.
[30:07]It becomes some something that we do one thing after the other.
[30:11]The moment we take it lightly all of a sudden we are
[30:12]lying left right and center without thinking.
[30:16]Somebody came to the holy prophet Sam.
[30:22][Music] He said to him, "Yeah, I have many sins.
[30:28]I lie and and and I do zena and I steal and
[30:34]I drink alcohol for which one shall I stop first?" If you
[30:41]were asked which one will you say?
[30:44]probably you've heard this hadith.
[30:47]So you know that the prophet of Islam said to him don't
[30:51]lie.
[30:52]That's it.
[30:54]The man said that's easy.
[30:54]I can do the other three.
[30:58]He went then he thought to himself if I if I perform
[31:02]this zena and the prophet would ask me one day did you
[31:06]do it and I promised not to lie so I can't do
[31:09]it.
[31:08]And if I ever drink alcohol the prophet one day will ask
[31:12]me did you drink alcohol?
[31:12]And if I ask me therefore he stopped all the other actions.
[31:17]It's the key to destruction.
[31:18]It's the key that will make shan enter into our hearts and
[31:24]our thoughts and our processes.
[31:25]In a hadith that is found in our books, it is said
[31:27]that the holy prophet of Islam says if a believer lies due
[31:35]to no excuse and I will give you three that are found
[31:37]in three only reasons why we're allowed to lie.
[31:42]But if it wasn't for these three, 70,000 angels send on them
[31:54]if they lie once and from their heart a very bad stench
[32:00]smell comes out and it will reach the throne of Allah and
[32:07]all those carrying the throne of Allah will send as well on
[32:14]that particular individual, isn't it?
[32:16]The recognition here people ask and that is what are the worst
[32:20]forms of lying?
[32:20]We today we may lie to each other.
[32:24]Yes, we may lie because of business.
[32:27]We may lie in marital disputes.
[32:29]Today I was speaking to someone.
[32:31]He said, "I'm going through divorce from the UK." He said, "Do
[32:38]you know how much lying my wife who's about to become my
[32:41]ex-wife has mentioned in courts to get more money from me?
[32:45]She started to lie that I abuse her.
[32:47]I never hit her." She started to lie that for example, she
[32:50]spent money and on me or on the house she never spent.
[32:55]Lying in courts, lying in court just to get more money, just
[32:58]to obtain more wealth.
[33:01]There are people today lying in order to destroy the reputations of
[33:05]others.
[33:06]There are people today lying in order to make themselves feel much
[33:09]better or to protect themselves.
[33:11]It has become unfortunately a disease that has spread in so many
[33:16]places.
[33:17]One of the worst forms of lying which invalidates the fast if
[33:20]you're fasting is if you lie against Allah and his messenger.
[33:24]If you perform, it's haram.
[33:29]Yes, it's haram.
[33:31]But you do not lose your fasting.
[33:34]But if you lie whilst fasting against Allah and his messenger, your
[33:40]fast becomes ben.
[33:40]How do you lie against Allah and his messenger?
[33:44]You say the prophet said this and you know he didn't say
[33:47]it or you forward the hadith which you know is not true
[33:54]deliberately to people WhatsApp you know with your 5 million messages.
[33:59]You forward this hadith and you know it's not true.
[34:05]Yes.
[34:04]This will invalidate your fast.
[34:08]Be careful when you forward hadith.
[34:11]Please there are many mashallah who have a PhD in WhatsApp forwarding
[34:13]hadiths.
[34:15]They are experts.
[34:16]Every hadith they get they forward.
[34:19]Okay.
[34:19]Make sure it has reference.
[34:20]Where is this from?
[34:23]One of the most oppressed human beings if not the most oppressed
[34:27]individual in the history of mankind.
[34:28]with this is every time somebody finds a nice hadith from a
[34:31]for example a mystic or some philosopher they stick the name of
[34:38]M to it.
[34:39]Yes.
[34:40]Be careful not to forward hadith unless where is the source from
[34:44]which book is this?
[34:44]Yes.
[34:45]Have you understood it?
[34:46]Meaning if it is going to cause problems in the understanding of
[34:52]people don't forward it.
[34:52]Ask the what does it mean before I start forwarding or posting
[34:59]on social media and causing deception or causing misguidance of people.
[35:03]Yes.
[35:04]Be careful what you and I forward or attribute towards the another
[35:09]form of lying that happens in society today as meaning I promise
[35:14]people things and I never do it deliberately.
[35:19]So for example I am saying to somebody tomorrow we have a
[35:24]meeting let's meet at 9:00 but deliberately I go at 10:00 okay
[35:30]a few minutes here and there late that's fine but I deliberately
[35:34]delay them so long I have no intention it could be a
[35:40]form of deception and lying right likewise if I promise to buy
[35:43]something for somebody or I promise to attend their wedding or I
[35:46]promise whatever these promises that is best to say I ask Allah
[35:53]to help me or genuinely say inshallah please not inshallah with the
[35:57]intention that I will not do it because when he was with
[36:04]said to him you cannot be patient when you see what I
[36:07]saw he said inshallah inshah I'm going to try to be patient
[36:13]but all affairs are with Allahh some of us we use inshallah
[36:17]to mean no no no I will never do it but let
[36:20]me quiet in the verse this Joha his folktale character don't know
[36:24]if he existed or not one day he was selling a donkey
[36:27]he was going out and his wife said to him where are
[36:30]you going he said I'm selling this donkey in the market she
[36:33]said say inshallah he said baba this is just a donkey doesn't
[36:36]deserve inshallah I don't know why sometimes we have bad ideas about
[36:41]some animals donkeys dogs they're still creations of Allah he's carrying that
[36:44]they're holding the donkey he's going over a bridge a bridge is
[36:49]feeble weak it falls falls and the donkey falls and drowns in
[36:51]the water.
[36:53]He comes back after a few minutes.
[36:55]His wife says, "Did you sell it?
[36:56]Did you sell the donkey?" That was very quick.
[36:59]He said, "The donkey died inshallah." Wrong usage.
[37:04]This is not where you use it, the idea is if I'm
[37:07]going to use I must be sad.
[37:10]I must be truthful.
[37:10]Meaning I intend to do it, but I leave my affairs in
[37:15]the hands of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and he will help me.
[37:17]Likewise, testifying.
[37:19]If I give a testimony in court, if I'm testifying before judges,
[37:24]before I must not testify falsely in order to gain something or
[37:30]to be on somebody's side, there are sometimes hidden ways in which
[37:34]you and I lie.
[37:35]If I pray to Allah and says and say to him, I
[37:41]want this tongue to be full of truthfulness.
[37:43]I must be careful not to lie without realizing I'm lying.
[37:50]How?
[37:48]Number one, parents and children.
[37:51]Please focus on this.
[37:53]Some of the parents think it's okay to lie to their children.
[38:00]Molana, he's only two or three.
[38:01]It's okay.
[38:02]He's asking me, I want this game.
[38:04]Okay, tomorrow inshallah I'll buy you.
[38:05]Never I will might.
[38:07]I want this ice cream.
[38:10]Inshallah I will get you next week.
[38:12]But I will not.
[38:12]I know that I will not.
[38:14]This happened during the time of the holy prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
[38:17]wasallam.
[38:22]A man by the name of Abdullah said that the prophet was
[38:29]in our house.
[38:27]When he was in our house, I called whom I called my
[38:33]son.
[38:33]He didn't come.
[38:35]So I said to my son if you come I will give
[38:38]you something I will give you.
[38:43]So the prophet looked at him and says what what is it
[38:49]if he had come would you give him?
[38:52]He said yes I would give him dates he said if you
[38:59]do not it will be written upon you as it's a lie.
[39:01]So come forward and say that the parent should not lie even
[39:06]though so what if the child is not balik this idea of
[39:09]lying against children number one gives them a bad notion of lying
[39:15]it's hypocrisy double standards number two it teaches you that it's okay
[39:20]to deceive number two the other time where we lie but we
[39:23]don't know is based on what is known as mujah malat in
[39:29]Iraqi or in or Meaning what?
[39:33]Sometimes somebody comes to you and gives you sweet.
[39:37]You like to eat the sweet but for example you don't want
[39:39]to hurt them and you say to them I I'm not somebody
[39:44]who is allowed to eat sweet.
[39:45]I am for example no sugar at the moment but you are
[39:51]not.
[39:51]You just want to quieten them.
[39:55]Not permissible.
[39:55]You cannot just to please somebody say something which is not true.
[40:00]Yes.
[40:00]You have to be honest.
[40:05]Yes.
[40:03]Or there is a way but as long as you're not actually
[40:07]lying that you're not intending to say something which is not necessarily
[40:11]true.
[40:12]Another way in which sometimes people lie without knowing is exaggeration when
[40:19]praise.
[40:21]Exaggeration when praising somebody.
[40:23]I went sometime in one center they were introducing me for majus.
[40:29]They said please welcome Allah said is I'm not worth the shoes
[40:37]of I'm not an sometimes we make massive exaggerations these titles are
[40:44]two pages of titles this yes if they deserve it and they
[40:50]have reached yes but sometimes we exaggerate for example somebody has died
[40:56]and I am reading for example a poet about him or a
[41:01]sentence and I say to people, he was the most truthful person
[41:04]I have ever seen.
[41:07]Really?
[41:07]Really the most truthful person or are you just saying it because
[41:12]you want to praise him?
[41:14]You have to be careful not to be exaggerating when it comes
[41:17]to this and what and being so when it comes to people
[41:23]asking.
[41:23]There's a nice story here.
[41:24]The prophet one day with with his wives.
[41:26]So one of his wives came and began to give milk to
[41:29]each.
[41:30]So they all say no sorry we don't want we don't want.
[41:35]So the prophet looks at them and says don't combine hunger and
[41:40]lying together.
[41:39]You want but you don't want to take from this person.
[41:44]You are combining jew hunger and lying.
[41:46]The prophet knew that they were hungry.
[41:49]They wanted to take this particular milk.
[41:51]Yes.
[41:52]But they could not.
[41:52]They would say no.
[41:54]I don't want to.
[41:54]But they want it.
[41:56]Yes.
[41:57]The recognition that emerges is what are the areas in which we
[41:59]are allowed to lie only three areas.
[42:02]Please focus before we end inshalla.
[42:04]Number one is when you want to make two people who are
[42:07]not speaking with each other to have better relations with each other.
[42:11]Meaning what?
[42:11]Meaning you go to one of them and you say I heard
[42:16]this person praise you and say you are wonderful and you have
[42:18]done so good.
[42:21]In reality they have not said yes.
[42:25]Quran comes forward and says make this reconciliation take place and it's
[42:29]allowed to lie.
[42:31]Number two, if you are saving a life due to somebody, for
[42:34]example, a dictator or someone who is violating their life from an
[42:46]oppressor.
[42:44]Number three, when it comes to in the war, if you're in
[42:49]a military and you are trying to defeat the enemy and they
[42:52]are enemies of Islam and you are fighting for the sake of
[42:56]Allah, then you can deceive the enemy in this regard.
[43:00]Just a note here because there is a hadith from the holy
[43:04]prophet.
[43:11]Final point we'll say I need your attention because this been used
[43:16]by some men some men have used this hadith against their wives
[43:21]the hadith says three areas you can lie number one when you're
[43:26]trying to set a trap in the war number two when you're
[43:31]trying to bring people together okay so far we are okay third
[43:34]one is the problem says when you promise your wife.
[43:42]Now some have looked at this and said ah this the best
[43:48]hadith I have seen because now when I have promised my wife
[43:51]something I don't have to do the prophet tells me it's okay
[43:55]to lie to her and if this takes out of context clip
[44:00]on YouTube I'm in trouble it's not accepted by our today meaning
[44:07]what the hadith is there but our They have said based on
[44:17]obligatory precaution, it's not permissible.
[44:18]Why?
[44:18]This goes against the Quran.
[44:20]There is nothing in the Quran that allows lying against the wife
[44:23]or the wife against the husband.
[44:24]Yes.
[44:24]And it creates a lot of what problems even even if it's
[44:32]assumed by some scholars that it's okay on the secondary level meaning
[44:38]that what will impact society is what is that it will create
[44:41]more problems in society.
[44:44]If today Islamic law says for the men to be okay to
[44:46]lying to their wives this creates more marital conflicts and problems because
[44:51]for sure the wife will say why are you lying to me?
[44:56]no trust breakdown of the relationship.
[44:57]Hence indeed we have to be of the follow the footsteps of
[45:03][Applause] the these are the holy prophetam and somebody asks okay help
[45:12]me I want to change my life I want to become a
[45:14]truthful person I have a habit of making lots of lies I
[45:19]will mention in 10 seconds six things you should do number one
[45:22]tawa always know Allah is watching and it is being written number
[45:25]two think about repercussions of the lying, how it will bring about
[45:31]bala in your life.
[45:30]Number three, speak less.
[45:33]If you are one of those who has a habit of lying,
[45:35]control what you say and don't speak too much.
[45:39]Yes.
[45:39]Number four, don't mix with people who lie because the moment you
[45:44]mix in that environment, it becomes okay.
[45:46]Number five, very importantly, what?
[45:50]Don't promise things and don't conclusion things.
[45:54]Say maybe, I think so.
[45:56]Don't say definitely, 100%.
[46:00]Yes.
[45:59]Give a possibility that something may not necessarily be what you have.
[46:05]And finally, and most importantly, ask Allahh.
[46:07]Ya Allah, make me of ya Allah, make me of the tongue
[46:14]that oozes with and truthfulness.
[46:16]Because the Quran says as we know in the famous story of
[46:24]that highlighted the status of the holy prophet Muhammad and his progeny
[46:38]final for the benefit of as I promised to do it every
[46:48]Right?
[46:45]And that is with regards to given to today there is the
[46:56]idea that people have that is I cannot give to a is
[47:01]wrong in the opinion of like his you can give recommended.
[47:11]We are not talking about the such as that's meaning which one
[47:22]day you want to give and the person is say and you
[47:25]are not say or you are say doesn't matter can you give
[47:30]that person yes but with a condition this condition it must not
[47:38]be too small that is derogatory and makes them what less valued
[47:42]Not something very disrespectful, something okay.
[47:47]Yes.
[47:48]Not something that belittles them.
[47:51]Question.
[47:52]Can I give to somebody who is rich?
[47:57]How was I was inside the plane?
[48:01]I remembered ah I did not take out.
[48:03]So I took out.
[48:03]There was a non-Muslim sitting next to me.
[48:05]I said, "Excuse me, can I give you this money?" He said,
[48:09]"What?
[48:08]Why?" said please just for me to you don't say gift cuz
[48:12]now it becomes as just something I want to give you you
[48:15]don't need to say don't say I'm giving you charity yes person
[48:18]said okay thank you I'll take it that of course it is
[48:23]better to give to the poor better to give to the followers
[48:26]and to Muslims but it is not necessarily the case that it
[48:32]has to be those to give to them may Allah make us
[48:33]of the of those who give and those who follow in the
[48:38]footsteps of Muhammad Muhammad.
[48:43]Wow.
