[1:13]the eighth of shawwal marks a the anniversary of one of the
[1:23]worst crimes committed in recent history and that is the demolition and
[1:29]the destruction of the graves of the bakla the cemetery in medina
[1:38]in the year 1926 in the year 1926 close to a hundred
[1:44]years ago the bakiya cemetery the oldest cemetery in islam was destroyed
[1:53]by the wahhabis and the saudi-backed wahabis as soon as they came
[1:57]to power within one or two years they destroyed the domes and
[2:04]the shrines above the graves of the bait four of the imams
[2:10]of the bait and the wives of the prophet the relatives of
[2:15]the prophet the aunt of the prophet the children ibrahim the son
[2:20]of the prophet and over seven thousand sahabah their graves were there
[2:25]the graves were destroyed and sacked the same way we saw what
[2:30]isis was doing a few years ago this is what took place
[2:36]in the cemetery and what is shocking and sad is that these
[2:42]graves until today they remain destroyed today you go to madinah and
[2:48]you see that the graves of four of the imams of the
[2:49]albeit the graves of the relatives of rasulallah and the sahaba and
[2:56]the companions of the prophet their graves are all destroyed so this
[3:04]is a tragedy and this is a disaster not only because the
[3:09]graves have been destroyed but because we see history keeps repeating itself
[3:14]and that is because islam and the essence of islam has been
[3:19]hijacked by a group of people a group of people they come
[3:23]and they destroy the graves that have been there for hundreds of
[3:29]years the sahaba they came after rasulullah they saw these graves and
[3:34]the taberin and the muslims one after the other no one did
[3:38]anything until al-saud came to power the wahhabis they came to power
[3:42]and they destroyed and they attacked and they raised the graves and
[3:49]in fact that wasn't the only thing that they did they destroyed
[3:51]the graves in the cemetery the cemetery in mecca where the family
[3:57]of rasulullah and similarly they attacked they attacked karbala as well about
[4:10]200 years ago karbala was also attacked by wahhabis they came they
[4:14]rode on their horses they came and they attacked and it was
[4:19]around the days of eid al-ghadir so many of those in karbala
[4:21]they had left and they had gone to najaf to celebrate the
[4:26]birth of to celebrate and many were killed in karbala and many
[4:33]a lot were stolen a lot was stolen from the shrine of
[4:38]imam al-hussein what is shocking is that the muslim ummah has remained
[4:47]silent to this atrocity the muslims are quiet the people are quiet
[4:54]and their leaders are also quiet you find close to 100 years
[4:59]have passed and muslims are not saying anything muslims are not saying
[5:06]anything right now if imagine a foreign military they come and they
[5:10]destroy the grave of rasulullah or they destroy masjid what would the
[5:14]world do what would the world say they would go crazy but
[5:19]because a group of people who claim to be muslims and they
[5:24]claim to represent the religion of islam they kill they persecute they
[5:28]carry out crimes in the name of the quran in the name
[5:32]of the religion of islam muslims have to remain quiet you know
[5:35]several times when i go and i speak to non-muslims they tell
[5:42]me about terrorism and all that that has been going on i
[5:45]tell them you have been experiencing terrorism since 2001 since september 11
[5:50]around that time that's when you were that's when you first saw
[5:54]and had to deal with terrorism in the name of islam terrorism
[5:58]that has hijacked the quran and the religion of islam you know
[6:01]when we had to deal with it we've had to deal with
[6:03]it for hundreds of years in the name of the quran in
[6:07]the name of the religion of islam they kill people they destroy
[6:11]the graves of the family of the prophets and the sahaba of
[6:15]rasulullah and all while the muslim leaders are silent muslim leaders they
[6:22]don't say anything look at this there's about 40 arab countries how
[6:25]many arab countries are there they are all silent they don't talk
[6:29]about anything jerusalem is attacked they stay quiet people in palestine they're
[6:35]killed they stay quiet they're always silent the only time they talk
[6:40]is if someone criticizes them someone talks about them just two days
[6:45]ago the foreign minister in lebanon he said that isis was inspired
[6:49]by these arab gulf countries which is true which is true the
[6:56]only difference is isis didn't have oil money they have the oil
[6:58]money the isis didn't have the oil money but the same mentality
[7:01]he dared say such a thing and he's a christian man they
[7:05]go crazy over it they go crazy they're talking about it and
[7:10]they're calling their ambassadors and why did this person say such and
[7:15]such and at the same time gaza and palestine is being bombed
[7:17]but they don't say a word you know this is the disaster
[7:22]when people they put their own interests above the interests of islam
[7:26]when people put their own interests above the interests of the quran
[7:30]and the religion of islam and this is how the muslim community
[7:35]falls apart this is how the muslim community remains weak this is
[7:40]how a small government with the population of a couple million they
[7:44]come in the middle of the muslims and they bomb and they
[7:48]kill and they rule israel it's in the middle of all the
[7:51]muslims and they're able to how is it because they're strong no
[7:55]they're not strong one day without america they won't last but it's
[8:00]because of the weakness of the arabs it's because of the weakness
[8:03]of those leaders of the arabs who just want to be proud
[8:09]when they haven't done anything for the muslim nation when they haven't
[8:12]done anything for the arabs themselves so the issue of the demolition
[8:19]of the bakriya this is a major issue that everyone needs to
[8:24]raise awareness about everyone needs to speak out against the same way
[8:29]people right now they're all energized about the issue of palestine and
[8:33]other issues this is a major issue and this is not an
[8:35]issue that only has to do with the shias it's not an
[8:40]issue that's only with the shia this is an issue that all
[8:44]muslims have to deal with you know in the graves of the
[8:47]cemetery of the bhakti is the graves of the sahaba of rasulullah
[8:50]the graves of the companions of the prophet the graves of the
[8:55]wives of the prophets is it only the shias that have to
[9:00]come and say why are their graves destroyed no this is a
[9:02]muslim issue it's not a shiri issue and this is why everyone
[9:07]needs to speak out and raise awareness about this issue and allah
[9:13]says very clearly in the quran we can protest we can say
[9:25]so many things but if we don't change ourselves and we don't
[9:31]begin to bring real change then we will not see change we
[9:37]have to be the change that we want to see and we
[9:38]have to bring that change that's the only way that we will
[9:43]be able to witness the change in the muslim world and witness
[9:47]the circumstances within the muslim world the issue of the baqiyya is
[9:51]the same issue of palestine and gaza they all go back to
[9:57]one another because it's the weakness of the muslims with regards to
[10:00]the baqiyya that led to the destruction of the graves of the
[10:02]family of the prophet that silence is the same silence that is
[10:06]witnessing people be killed in gaza not doing anything the moment we
[10:12]wake up the moment we rise the moment we speak out against
[10:17]the injustice and we all collectively make an effort to bring change
[10:21]that's when we will see change with regards to gaza with regards
[10:25]to palestine with regards to the bakke with regards to all other
[10:28]things so now the question is where did this mentality come from
[10:35]where did the idea come from that these salafis this wahhabis they
[10:42]have that having a shrine or having a dome above a grave
[10:45]this is shirk this is idol worship because they even they even
[10:50]threatened to destroy the grave of rasulallah you know that green dome
[10:55]above the grave of rasulallah they don't like that as well but
[11:01]because if they come and they destroy that then the whole world
[11:03]will turn against them so they haven't done anything about that but
[11:06]deep inside they don't like that because muhammad ibn abdullah the leader
[11:12]of the wahhabi movement he stands in front of people and he
[11:16]was leaning on a cane leaning on a stick he said this
[11:20]stick of mine that i'm leaning on is better and has more
[11:26]benefit and use than rasulullah because rasulullah is dead in his grave
[11:30]while i could lean on this this is their mentality this is
[11:34]their mentality and this mentality started by a man by the name
[11:41]of ibn taymiyyah a man who lived in sham about seven eight
[11:46]hundred years ago and this man he had this idea that it's
[11:52]haram to visit rasulullah and he called for the grave of rasulallah
[11:56]to be destroyed so the sunni muslims the hambali the shafi'i the
[12:02]maliki and the others they issued a fatwa against him and he
[12:05]was prisoned in sham by the sunni government and he died in
[12:12]prison this man ibn tamiya he came and he brought this idea
[12:15]and he had this man had some deep-rooted hatred towards the bait
[12:19]especially you read in his book menhad sunnah he talks against the
[12:25]albeit as if they were you know people that are very far
[12:32]from the religion of islam he died he was not successful then
[12:37]after him came another scholar by the name of ibn ibn al-qayim
[12:42]tried to revive the philosophy and the thinking and the ideas of
[12:49]ibn taymiyyah but he was also not sir not successful then later
[12:55]on as a man by the name of muhammad ibn abdullah he
[12:59]came to he came to power and he was ruling in the
[13:05]desert they were ruling like gangs they would take up and conquer
[13:09]another gang until the saudi state was developed and oil was discovered
[13:15]then they started attacking this country and this group of muslims and
[13:21]this one is kafir and this one is mushrik and this is
[13:24]that and the problems that we see within the muslim world the
[13:28]problems of extremism the problems of killing muslims killing other muslims this
[13:33]is mainly inspired by that movement by that movement the movement of
[13:41]qatar the movement of killing the movement of takfir where anyone who
[13:46]has a different opinion as them as a kafir right away and
[13:50]rasulullah spoke about this movement rasulullah spoke about this najdi movement a
[13:55]movement that was born and nudged nudged as a village or a
[14:01]city in the arabian peninsula right now they ask and this is
[14:06]this is narrated by bukhari and tirmidhi and ahmad so this is
[14:12]not a shia source they ask levant the levant area palestine lebanon
[14:32]syria that is al-sham allah oh allah bless yemen the land of
[14:43]yemen and our yemen then once they tell him the third time
[15:12]he tells them there is where the fitna will rise there is
[15:21]where the the breaking apart of the muslim community will rise and
[15:27]the zalazil the earthquakes will rise not talking about earthquakes physical earthquakes
[15:34]talking about earthquakes within the muslim community and there is where the
[15:41]the horns of shaytan will rise meaning that is where shaytan will
[15:46]come and and bring the fitna within the muslim community that's mentioned
[15:55]so this movement this wahhabi movement the movement that was responsible for
[16:01]911 the movement that's responsible for isis the movement that's that's responsible
[16:05]for al-qaeda the movement that's responsible for boko haram the movement that's
[16:09]responsible for the attacks in afghanistan a few a few days ago
[16:15]a few days before the eid the movement that's responsible for silencing
[16:19]the masses over protesting a few days ago people muslims they were
[16:25]protesting over what's going on in palestine now palestine is not a
[16:30]place palestinians or sunni muslims muslims they're protesting a scholar a so-called
[16:35]scholar on twitter he wrote he writes according to islam protesting is
[16:43]haram if you see someone being oppressed no no stay quiet it's
[16:45]haram to protest it's this movement they go and they kill they
[16:50]go and they do so much and then it becomes haram to
[16:54]protest so this movement this movement is the movement that has brought
[16:59]a lot of destruction to the muslim ummah and not only the
[17:02]shias are dealing with this all muslims sunni muslims mainstream muslim sunni
[17:08]muslims are suffering as a result of this movement and as we
[17:11]mentioned in year 1802 in year 1802 they attacked karbala and they
[17:20]sacked the grave of imam saying so now this movement they come
[17:27]and they say it's all about taheed islam is all about monotheism
[17:29]if you go and visit a grave if you build the shrine
[17:34]over a grave if you go and you visit rasulullah you visit
[17:36]imam ali you visit imam hussain you visit the imams then you're
[17:40]doing shirk then you're associating a partner with god now yes islam
[17:45]says tawheed is very important we believe in the one and only
[17:50]allah and we worship the one and only allah and we don't
[17:53]worship anyone other than allah subhanahu ta'ala the greatest of creation what
[18:01]do we say about him we say muhammadan muhammad is he's the
[18:09]slave of god and then he is his messenger and allah all
[18:23]of the prophets and the messengers their message was they tell people
[18:31]to worship allah subhanahu ta'ala and no one else however tawheed isn't
[18:39]something that is shaken and shattered very easily you go and you
[18:42]visit a grave that doesn't mean you're you're worshiping this grave you
[18:47]believe you could believe in god you could be a moahed you
[18:50]could have to heed and you also go and visit the grave
[18:52]what's wrong with that some people they come and they have the
[18:56]idea that if you ask for assistance if you ask for help
[19:01]from any person then that means you're worshiping this person no islam
[19:04]is not that shallow so hate is not that shallow you go
[19:10]and you ask person for help that doesn't mean you're worshiping this
[19:14]person that means if that person was able to help you that
[19:17]person helped you by the permission of allah subhana tala when you
[19:21]get sick you go to the doctor does that mean that the
[19:23]doctor treated you no the doctor treated you by the permission of
[19:28]allah subhanahu ta'ala same with seeking shafa'a and tawasul from rasulullah so
[19:36]now does the quran when we go and we look at the
[19:41]quran and we look at the hadith we see that there's nothing
[19:43]wrong with visiting a grave and building over a grave does the
[19:48]quran say anything against having a grave and visiting a grave no
[19:53]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala talks the people of the cave when they
[20:01]were in the cave for you know over 300 years then the
[20:07]people they came and they said what should we do this is
[20:10]a place where they have they have been what should we do
[20:15]with this place allah describes their conversation allah says the ones who
[20:52]were victorious in the debate in the argument they said we're going
[20:56]to make this place the place where they're buried because where they
[21:00]are sleeping that's where they died as well and that's where they
[21:02]were buried that's that place we're going to make it a masjid
[21:06]what does that mean that means this is going to be a
[21:12]place that we seek nearness to allah meaning when we remember them
[21:14]when we come to where they are this is where a miracle
[21:18]took place we're going to pray here and we're going to get
[21:21]closer to allah in this location why because they are a miracle
[21:27]of god and we see that this is something that is repeated
[21:31]in the quran allah says go and pray where ibrahim stood why
[21:43]should you pray where ibrahim stood prayers to allah subhanahu ta'ala what
[21:46]does it have to do with ibrahim allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants
[21:51]us to remind ourselves that we are praying because of the sacrifices
[21:55]of ibrahim we are praying because of the prophets we're praying because
[22:00]of the baits because of rasulallah in another verse there are houses
[22:31]there are places that allah has allowed to elevate what are these
[22:36]places one is they said the masajid the mosques you get more
[22:43]tawab you receive more reward by praying in the masjid you could
[22:45]pray at your home there's nothing wrong with that but if you
[22:49]come and you pray in the masjid even if it's not jama'a
[22:51]even if it's just you you receive more reward just for praying
[22:55]and the masjid they asked rasulallah what are these houses one opinion
[23:01]they are the masajid another opinion rasulullah says the houses of the
[23:09]prophets the houses of the prophets allah subhanahu ta'ala has allowed to
[23:16]elevate and then the the hadith says that when they ask whose
[23:20]houses are they he says these are the houses of the prophets
[23:23]abu bakr he stands in front of the prophet in front of
[23:28]the muslims and he points to the house of imam ali and
[23:31]fatima because the door of imam ali and fatima you could see
[23:34]it in the masjid you're facing the qibla you look to the
[23:37]left and you see the door of rasulullah and behind it the
[23:41]door of imam ali and fatima they had access the door would
[23:45]open directly onto the masjid whereas the other muslims ordered them to
[23:49]close their doors they have to go out and enter from the
[23:52]main entrance of the masjid rasulullah he had a side door to
[23:56]the masjid imam ali they made they had a side door to
[23:59]the masjid so abu bakr he tells him is this house pointing
[24:02]to the house of imam ali and fatima he says is this
[24:06]one of those houses rasool allah tells them this is the best
[24:08]of those houses a house that allah has allowed to elevate so
[24:15]when you go and you visit the grave of imam ali or
[24:18]when you go and you visit the graves of imam al-hasan imam
[24:23]hussain the graves of rasulallah you're not worshiping these individuals you're getting
[24:28]closer to allah subhanahu ta'ala because you're in that proximity now yes
[24:33]they'll tell you god is everywhere yes god is everywhere but just
[24:37]as god wants me to pray in the masjid god also wants
[24:41]me to remember him next to rasulullah god wants me to remember
[24:46]him next to the graves of the awliya next to the graves
[24:51]of the swalaha and allah says this in the quran for allah
[25:02]if they have oppressed themselves and they came to you oh rasulullah
[25:07]and they asked for istighfar and rasool allah asks allah to forgive
[25:13]them they will see that allah is forgiving and merciful so allah
[25:26]wants us it's not that it's not only allowed but allah wants
[25:32]us to remember him in certain places just like ibrahim allah subhanahu
[25:36]wa ta'ala says and marwa two mountains they are from the signs
[25:44]of god so you have to go and see those signs when
[25:46]you go to hajj today anyone who goes to hajj they have
[25:49]to go walk over safa and marwah they have to go be
[25:53]oh next to walk between safa and marwah and doing the sai
[25:57]why what does what does that have to do because that's where
[26:01]you you remind yourself of tawhid that's where you remind yourself of
[26:04]faith and that's where you remind yourself of god so allah wants
[26:08]you to go there now someone says these are rocks what do
[26:10]rocks have to do with that no god these are rocks that
[26:14]allah has given sanctity you're not worshiping them you're just sanctifying them
[26:22]they are from the signs of god same with the kaaba the
[26:26]kaaba if we are going to be so shallow-minded that anytime you
[26:31]look at a stone anytime you look at anything then you're worshiping
[26:34]it then even the kaaba would be people are doing tawaf around
[26:39]the ka'ba people are praying to the kaaba but god has told
[26:42]us to do so allah subhanahu ta'ala has ordered us to do
[26:47]so i remember i was in medina in the mosque of the
[26:49]prophet and i was praying now typically when i pray i pray
[26:55]on the on the marble floor but this time i was in
[26:59]a place where there was carpet so i had to pray on
[27:03]the urs on the turba i have a small turba in my
[27:05]pocket it was you know i would hold it in my hand
[27:08]i wouldn't just reveal it but one of them he saw it
[27:11]he saw and he took it and he said you're mushrik you're
[27:13]mushrik because you're praying on the stone because you're worshiping the stone
[27:17]we're not worshiping this we're praying on the turban because allah subhanahu
[27:23]ta'ala ordered us to pray on the earth when you put your
[27:33]soil when you put your forehead on the soil you remind yourself
[27:37]of the soil that you're going to go back to you remind
[27:40]yourself of the soil that you're going to be raised from you're
[27:45]not preying on persian carpets so here some people it's very unfortunate
[27:51]they have a very shallow perspective of the religion of islam and
[28:00]the quran so here we have to we have to go back
[28:05]to the quran go back to the hadith of the prophet and
[28:08]look at what the muslims did the muslims they used to visit
[28:13]the grave of rasulallah all of the sudden this wahhabi movement a
[28:17]hundred years ago they discovered that this is shirk and everyone else
[28:21]was wrong before them rasulullah he used to visit the graves rasulullah
[28:25]used to go to bhaktiya he used to visit the cemetery the
[28:31]sahaba the taberean the muslims for hundreds of years they used to
[28:34]go and visit even you know what's funny even ibn taymiyyah ahmed
[28:37]ibn hambal bukhari they all have graves they all have shrines they
[28:42]have a dome and they have a grave but the family of
[28:45]the prophet they're not allowed to have it becomes shirk when it's
[28:49]the family of the prophet look at the double standards double standards
[28:53]that exist within the muslim ummah in fact they say that um
[29:00]when he conquered jerusalem that was the first time the muslims they
[29:04]entered jerusalem was during the time of um they entered of course
[29:11]before that rasulullah why is jerusalem a sacred city for the muslims
[29:16]because it's mentioned in the quran it was the it was the
[29:19]it was the qibla of the muslims before the qibla went back
[29:24]to mecca the muslims were all praying towards jerusalem and then the
[29:30]tabla changed to the kaaba but first it was jerusalem and on
[29:37]his night journey he went from mecca all the way to jerusalem
[29:41]and from jerusalem he went to the heavens allah says in the
[29:45]quran subhanallah this holy masjid which was a few days ago the
[30:04]israeli army they went and they entered into the masjid with their
[30:06]shoes and would you know desecrating the mosque this is a sacred
[30:09]place so the first time the muslims as a whole they entered
[30:15]was during the time of uh umar and he saw that there
[30:21]was a grave of ibrahim there was a grave of the prophets
[30:24]of allah subhanahu ta'ala yakub and yusuf and his haqq he didn't
[30:28]he didn't demolish the graves he didn't say this is biddah you
[30:32]can't have graves here he didn't say anything so how is it
[30:37]that today they say this is and even omari didn't destroy it
[30:40]furthermore a hadith says that during the time after the death of
[30:46]the prophet there was a drought in medina in madina there was
[30:50]a drought it didn't rain so the muslims they come to ayasha
[30:54]the wife of the prophet and they tell her we're suffering there's
[30:58]no rain what should we do so she tells them remove a
[31:05]window there was a window overlooking the grave of rasulullah the dome
[31:10]above the grave of the prophet had an opening she says remove
[31:14]that and do was by the love and by the position of
