[0:00]Rahim alhamdulillah is Muhammad I'm mad at him foreign I congratulate everyone
[0:58]here tonight for this auspicious occasion the birthday of Alima foreign if
[1:13]I were to ask you this question tonight when you think of
[1:20]a Believer a moment that is the closest to Allah that has
[1:29]the highest position with Allah who comes to mind what image comes
[1:36]to your mind now we may have different answers and replies to
[1:42]this question some of us may think of someone who has a
[1:45]huge Mark of sujud on their forehead because this person constantly prays
[1:53]so a conspicuous trait of someone who I believe is the closest
[1:59]to Allah as someone that always engages in Salah every Salah he's
[2:06]there all the salawats are prayed on time maybe in addition to
[2:12]that this person never the Great Salah of midnight other individuals may
[2:24]think of someone who is constantly remembering Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala as
[2:30]the Quran says an individual that constantly remembers Allah has a Subhan
[2:44]his or her hand and is constantly doing glorification and thicker of
[2:50]Allah other individuals may think of someone that helps for example financially
[3:00]the most because Allah and numerous verses when he speaks about the
[3:06]Believers always one of the greatest qualities of a believer what is
[3:10]that they pay their zakat the ones that donate the most these
[3:15]individuals are the ones I believe have the highest position in the
[3:21]eyes of Allah has another perspective he shares in a beautiful Hadith
[3:33]he tells us who the individual that has the highest position in
[3:39]the eyes of Allah the closest to Allah the one that Allah
[3:43]respects the most and reveres the most foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign
[6:53]foreign foreign that the closest amongst you to Allah are the ones
[7:36]that two things do two things number one that know the rights
[7:39]of the Believers against you you have to know what rights other
[7:46]believers have that you have to honor and number two you have
[7:49]to apply you have to honor those rights these individuals that honor
[7:54]the rights of other believers in the community or brothers and sisters
[8:00]in the community these individuals are the closest to Allah so if
[8:05]you want Allah to be pleased with you and you want to
[8:08]be in those High rankings brothers and sisters it's not necessarily the
[8:12]one that prays the most the one that does thicker the one
[8:19]that remembers all those are great things that conspicuous clearer trait of
[8:27]the men that Allah loves most is the one that is concerned
[8:32]with the rights of others and honors the rights of others and
[8:37]he mentions one of the most important rights that we have to
[8:44]honor towards others the Imam then continues he says men who are
[9:09]is [Music] foreign that one of the most important rights that your
[10:03]brothers and sisters have towards you is that you are humble when
[10:06]you conduct yourself with others be humble the more you humble yourself
[10:12]and fun of people the more Allah will raise you the more
[10:18]you will go up in the eyes of Allah do not think
[10:23]that being humble humility Down to Earth this is gonna bring down
[10:27]your worth in fact the more you are humble the more worthy
[10:30]you are in the eyes of Allah now how do I become
[10:37]humble with others brothers and sisters the simplest way the easiest way
[10:41]brothers and sisters to show humility to be humble in the community
[10:44]with other believers is to at least what is to at least
[10:52]say Salaam anytime you meet anyone you'll come across anyone say Salaam
[10:58]alaikum go and say salaam to people sometimes we expect others to
[11:05]come to say to them to us no you come to the
[11:07]Masjid you go to somebody's house you go and say salaam to
[11:13]every single individual you know the impact that that leaves you the
[11:17]love that you're showing it shows that you love you care you're
[11:20]honoring you're respecting this person and it's something so simple foreign no
[11:49]matter who that person is I may be wealthy that person is
[11:53]not wealthy I may be all that person is Young I may
[11:58]be this that it does not matter you initiated the salaam you
[12:00]go and say Salaam foreign Salaam foreign this is something very important
[12:58]when you say salaam to others brothers and sisters and it doesn't
[13:02]necessarily have to be when you meet someone you didn't meet someone
[13:05]this week call him take the phone salaam alaikum brother how are
[13:11]you just ask about 10 seconds 20 second 30 second call leave
[13:14]that person a voice note send a text message just wanted to
[13:22]make sure that you're okay something as small as this brothers and
[13:24]sisters is great in the eyes of Allah similarly to what we
[13:31]have the Hadith about saying your salawat and the holy prophet and
[13:35]his family the imams they say it in this way there are
[13:41]some things they're very easy Muhammad was that hard to say brothers
[13:54]and sisters it takes two SEC very easy it's not burdensome the
[13:59]Imam but on the day of judgment on your Mizan the skill
[14:07]where Allah weighs your good deeds the salawat is very heavy it's
[14:10]very valuable in the eyes of Allah azzawajal likewise one Salam that
[14:16]you tell a brother a sister in your community greatly values this
[14:25]I remember when I was young I used to go with my
[14:30]father to visit a scholar this scholar had a very unique personality
[14:39]and I never forget this for over 20 25 years when I
[14:44]used to go to my father this was a big scholar he
[14:49]had a very beautiful habit Not only would he say say salaam
[14:54]to my father he would then look at me and I was
[14:58]like 10 9 8 and you know how kids usually they're always
[15:02]to the side they'll go set to the side nobody even asks
[15:04]nobody cares about them correct that's why many kids hate going with
[15:07]their parents to visit someone else because they it's as if they
[15:12]don't even exist right I remember this island The Scholar after he
[15:16]set salaam to my father he turned towards me and he said
[15:20]how are you three seconds and then he continued and he talked
[15:27]wallahi I never forgot that till today and I noticed that every
[15:33]time I visit him when someone comes and there's kids he looks
[15:36]at every child that small two three seconds so easy for that
[15:47]person right but it leaves such a long impact wallahi that scholar
[15:51]I love him more than anyone because he planted that love in
[15:58]my heart since I was young just by a small Salam go
[16:01]around see young kids why because this shows that this person is
[16:06]humble this person is 40 50 years older than me he's so
[16:11]knowledgeable I'm young but he comes and he says salaam to me
[16:13]that leaves a very very important mark on that person's life that
[16:20]he may never forget until he dies recently I remember my a
[16:25]dear uncle said Mustafa al-qaswini he was telling me a story listen
[16:30]carefully brothers and sisters he says I was invited to attend one
[16:34]of the churches in California this church is what they call a
[16:40]mega church huge huge church I think they have five to ten
[16:44]thousand members in their congregation that attend such that they have to
[16:48]give two lectures Sunday lectures because one lecture is not enough so
[16:52]five thousand people come they listen they go and then the next
[16:58]five thousand come he says I was invited by the pastor of
[17:03]this specific Church he says I took my son with me my
[17:10]son 15 years old I was invited I had to take my
[17:11]son for certain reasons he says when I arrived this pastor he
[17:17]greeted me in such a beautiful way he was so welcoming and
[17:19]then he looked at my son my 15 year old son was
[17:24]not even invited he looked at him he hugged him he said
[17:29]salaam to him and he told him welcome welcome to your home
[17:32]welcome to your he says my son was shocked at how welcoming
[17:38]he this pastor is he's like in the Masjid nobody welcomes me
[17:41]like this like I am welcomed in the church you see the
[17:45]clock that they show brothers and sisters the teachings of el bait
[17:51]that we see in the books unfortunately other people are applying them
[17:55]and implementing them not us some massage it some massage it they
[18:00]drive people away brothers and sisters because they don't welcome if you're
[18:07]not part of that group if you're not from that country if
[18:10]you don't follow this merger if you're not from this race this
[18:13]group they don't welcome you many people tell me this and specifically
[18:19]in while the imams of they are the most individuals that would
[18:24]focus on be welcoming towards others but unfortunately many young people young
[18:31]and old people they tell me when I go to the Shia
[18:34]Amazon I don't feel welcome I go to the Sunni Masjid I
[18:38]feel much more welcomed it is not unfortunately we do not reflect
[18:46]many times so anyway s that the most or one of the
[18:55]most important traits that will make Allah love you and you will
[19:00]start ascending High towards Allah is being humble and we said one
[19:05]of the most basic ways is to greet people nicely that's enough
[19:11]mentions a story I want you to listen to the story it's
[19:17]truly inspiring he mentions a story from that demonstrates and highlights the
[19:22]tawava that demonstrates the Club the humility the commander of the faithful
[19:34]he says um foreign and most likely this is when he was
[20:03]the Khalifa The King two individuals believers they come to visit him
[20:09]one is the Father the other is the son the Imam he
[20:15]doesn't send his guards he doesn't send his servants to go and
[20:18]greet them the Imam himself gets up and he goes and he
[20:24]greets them and he brings them and he tells them sit down
[20:28]in this area and then he sits in front of them you
[20:31]see the word jealous he sits in front of them so he's
[20:36]not sitting in the in the main you know the main area
[20:41]of the medulus he gave them the main area and he sat
[20:45]next in front of them like in the middle of the medulus
[20:47]and this is his office and he's and then the Hadith says
[20:53]he brought food for them they had their meal with Imam Ali
[21:00]alaihissalam and then the servant of Imam Ali listen carefully brothers and
[21:03]sisters we claim we are the Shia of Ali right listen to
[21:09]how Imam Ali used to conduct himself then you can truly decide
[21:13]and understand if you are Imam Ali or is it just lip
[21:18]service he entered the medulus what did he bring he brought a
[21:30]bowl and a watering can why because when you visit Imam Ali
[21:36]you get the Royal Treatment this is how humble Imam Ali is
[21:41]this is how he wants to serve everyone in the community so
[21:45]he doesn't want them to get up and go wash their hands
[21:47]he brings the sink to you umbar comes with a bowl watering
[21:54]can and a towel he wants to what he wants to wash
[21:56]their hands Imam Ali gets up and Imam alaskar he says he
[22:00]tells him give me the bowl give me the watering can he
[22:06]takes it from Amber he goes and he tells the father please
[22:08]extend your hands he puts the ball under him the man says
[22:13]what do you want to do he says I want to wash
[22:17]your hand you know what the man does the Hadith says the
[22:24]man was so embarrassed at the humility of Imam Ali that he
[22:30]began to he threw himself under turab now let me ask you
[22:36]a question if you're in the office of Imam Ali why is
[22:39]there tarab why is there dust in the office of Imam Ali
[22:43]do you know why because Imam Ali was Abu turab Imam Ali
[22:48]was so humble you go to his office when he's the Khalifa
[22:53]there's no carpet there's no hardwood there's no marble there's no Persian
[22:58]rugs it is just the bear dust that Imam Ali would sit
[23:02]on and sleep on and that's why he was called by rasulullah
[23:07]Abu turab the father of dust meaning he's so humbled down to
[23:10]earth literally he was down to earth not just a figure of
[23:16]speech so this man he threw himself on the dust showing he's
[23:19]so hurt by this he's so embarrassed and then he said Ali
[23:29][Music] Allah is watching me while my Imam is washing my hand
[23:36]never what will Allah do to me Allah will never accept this
[23:42]look at that at the humility brothers and sisters he told him
[23:49]look you don't have to feel ashamed let me wash your hand
[23:58]and then the Imam the Imam says I ask you I ask
[24:03]you and I swear upon you by the love that you have
[24:09]for me the Iman that you have in me I swear by
[24:14]the way that you have upon me to allow me to serve
[24:17]you because you are a man you are my brother and I
[24:21]want to serve you so the man when he says he swore
[24:28]he says okay he extended his hands but he was so uncomfortable
[24:32]Imam Ali is washing my hands should be the other way around
[24:35]I have to serve my Mola the Imam he notices uncomfortable he
[24:39]told him now please I ask you I want you to wash
[24:47]your hands as I pour the water on your hand I want
[24:48]you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as if Amber was washing
[24:55]your hand if kambar the serpent was washing your hand you would
[24:57]be okay right you wouldn't be embarrassed and you wouldn't feel so
[25:00]difficult I want you to feel that same way with me he
[25:14]called them he told them now you my dear son look at
[25:18]how he teaches not only is he humble he teaches his sons
[25:21]and his children to be humble he tells him my dear son
[25:23]now you take the watering can and the ball and go and
[25:27]wash the hands of the son of this man to teach him
[25:31]to teach him that lesson went and he washed the hands of
[25:36]this individual these two men these two individuals the father and the
[25:42]son they came out shocked at the humility in the Khalifa of
[25:47]the Muslims he washes your hand when you come after he feeds
[25:50]you Allah now listen he says after he tells us the story
[25:58]then says foreign [Music] do you want to know if you're a
[26:11]true Siri how much do you follow Imam Ali in his humility
[26:17]whoever follows Imam Ali in the way that I showed that Imam
[26:25]says in the story whoever follows the path of Imam Ali and
[26:27]is that humble those are the true Shia it's not the ones
[26:31]that just claim we love Imam Ali alaihissalam no is one that
[26:35]tries to follow as the Young Brother mentioned in his poem that
[26:38]she is the one who follows Imam Ali says follow Imam Ali
[26:45]through your humility so being humble brothers and sisters being a Shia
[26:51]being someone close to Allah means that you learn you teach yourself
[26:55]to serve other people in the community some of us unfortunately we
[26:58]just love being served we come to the message we just sit
[27:03]down we listen the food is placed in front of us we
[27:08]eat and we leave this is not a quality of a Believer
[27:09]brothers and sisters of a true Shia a true Shia is someone
[27:16]that loves that prefers to serve rather than being served this is
[27:20]a true Shia our brothers and sisters so from time to time
[27:25]help helping your messages in your community there are people that are
[27:29]vulnerable people that are weak people that are old people that are
[27:32]disabled people that struggle financially Allah measures your Iman based on your
[27:41]action how much do you help people in your community listen to
[27:44]this Hadith he was asked what are the of the Muhammad what
[27:50]are the rights of Believers against me the Imam mentioned a few
[27:54]and then he said Allah foreign if you can help financially brothers
[28:39]and sisters any believer in the community the Muslim Community is like
[28:45]one family if someone is struggling then it is my obligation that
[28:48]Imam says that I go and help that individual if I can
[28:54]help that individual through my knowledge my expertise sometimes just emotional help
[28:57]being there for that person who's distressed who's going under a difficult
[29:02]time this is the true Shia Community the community that is Unified
[29:09]that each one of them helps the others a man by the
[29:11]name of Abu Ismail came to see Imam al-bakar he lived in
[29:17]another city the Hadith doesn't indicate where Imam al-baqar is where Medina
[29:22]he tells he's bringing good news he says there's a lot of
[29:31]Shia from where I come from look at what the Imam tells
[29:36]him that Imam tells him the Imam says these individuals that you
[29:49]claim to be a lot of them the wealthy help the poor
[29:56]do the ones that are oppressed who wrong is done towards do
[30:03]they forgive so basically is it a generous Community is it an
[30:08]empathetic Community is it a forgiving Community or no the man says
[30:16]law no unfortunately we have Richie and we have Porsche that nobody
[30:19]really cares about and we're not always forgiving many times we're fighting
[30:24]right she is in one Community splitting and fighting you know what
[30:28]the Imam said the Imam said are the ones that are united
[30:38]like one family if one is struggling everyone goes to the aid
[30:42]of that person if one person is need everyone in the community
[30:44]goes to the aid of that person we forgive others when they
[30:51]make mistakes this is what a true Shia Community is brothers and
[30:54]sisters you know sometimes we are accused in a derogatory way of
[30:58]being Shia these people are Shia you know what I say sometimes
[31:02]I say I wish I mashiach they are claiming they are accusing
[31:06]me that I am a Shia this is such an honor that
[31:11]I don't even know if I qualify for it if I have
[31:14]I wish I'm a true because being Shia brothers and sisters is
[31:19]about action it's about Unity it's about helping everyone in your community
[31:23]you're not Asia Hadith says you're not a Muslim if you sleep
[31:29]with a full stomach and the other movement the other Muslim in
[31:33]your community sleeps with an empty stomach this is brothers and sisters
[31:40]the message that we should learn from if you want to increase
[31:46]your Iman if you want to gain closeness to Allah you do
[31:49]not necessarily have to go to the Masjid go to the Muslims
[31:54]go to the meaning your brothers and sisters in your community and
[31:58]help them this is the best way that Allah will elevate your
[32:08]status to bless all of you I ask him to give us
[32:09]the tawfiq the ability that we are able to follow in the
[32:15]footsteps of our maulah and I ask Allah to help us so
[32:26]that we can become true we ask Allah to grant us in
[32:32]this Dunya the ziara we ask Allah to hasten the reappearance of
[32:40]our maula our Imam and let us end brothers and sisters by
[32:45]reciting Surah for all the minata that have passed after a loud
[32:54]salawat for muhammadan Muhammad
