[0:00]Muhammed Al must which is unfortunately unheard of and understudied for when

[0:15]we recognize the life and the legacy of the brother of the

[0:19]holy prophet and the best and the choicest of his companions the

[0:26]husband of his daughter and indeed his closest Confidant and the vice

[0:32]jant of Allah on this Earth we come to the conclusion that

[0:45]this particular battle known as the battle of the chains is not

[0:54]studied and analyzed like other battles in Islam how many times we've

[0:58]looked at bad we've looked at we've looked at and we've looked

[1:02]at but if you speak to many people today and you ask

[1:06]them what was that Sal what was this event how did it

[1:14]take place how does it demonstrate The Bravery the Brilliance and the

[1:18]Excellence of the commander of the faithful peace and blessings be upon

[1:23]him you will find many people perhaps haven't even heard of this

[1:28]battle let alone the ability to speak about it there is no

[1:32]doubt that most of us stand in admiration when it comes to

[1:37]the special characteristics and the Excellence of Imam aliam his eloquence his

[1:44]spirituality his Justice his Mercy his wisdom but of course his obedience

[1:56]to Allah subhah wa ta'ala and the prophet of Islam is truly

[2:02]exemple in the recognition that this final element the is one that

[2:06]many of times we do not focus on significantly meaning what meaning

[2:11]when we look and examine the life of the commander of the

[2:13]faithful one of the questions that some people have is what made

[2:19]him so special in the eyes of Allah subhah wa taala what

[2:22]is so significant about ALB that he attained such a lofty position

[2:28]with the almighty and was so beloved to the holy prophet of

[2:35]Islam he was he was he was he was but in addition

[2:46]to all this he was the most individual who performed of the

[2:52]holy prophet of the messenger of God and this was characteristic in

[2:57]his lifetime this is something that you and and I must focus

[3:00]on because obedience to Allah and the messenger is highlighted to be

[3:07]the main quality for an individual to be chosen by Allah all

[3:19]you who believe become obedient to Allah and to the messenger and

[3:23]the ones who have authority amongst you because they were obedient to

[3:29]Allah and the messenger more than anyone else and you'll find this

[3:33]characterized in the life of in which way if I want to

[3:35]know why Allah loves Ali and why Ali loved Allah why the

[3:41]prophet loved Ali and why Ali loved the prophet the Quran gives

[3:44]me the answer Allah subhana wa tala says if you claim to

[3:56]love me then you must follow the prophet and therefore Allah will

[4:03]love you therefore you become the subject of the love of Allah

[4:07]that's why on the day of what was the prophet of Islam

[4:26]towards the individual who loves Allah and his messenger but Allah and

[4:31]his messenger love him back I could claim to love Allah I

[4:33]could claim to loveo Allah but it doesn't mean Allah and his

[4:37]messenger love me also the reciprocal love from Allah and his messenger

[4:43]primarily is because of because of obedience today we struggle with this

[4:49]obedience you say to me how I say to you there are

[4:53]many Muslims today when you present them with the teachings of Allah

[4:56]and his messenger they question it they say why should I do

[4:59]this why should I wear hijab why should I pay and zakat

[5:06]why should I pray why should I for example not have a

[5:09]boyfriend girlfriend relationship why this comes at a price meaning you will

[5:15]have to sacrifice what you and I are accustomed to in our

[5:21]lives when it comes to the commander of the faithful you recognize

[5:26]that his virtues regarding being obedient to Allah and his messenger were

[5:33]witnessed by non-muslims as well as Muslims meaning what today if you

[5:37]look at historical records describing the biography of you'll find non-muslims standing

[5:45]in admiration and saying one of the things that we enjoy and

[5:49]we respect and honor regarding Ali is the fact that he was

[5:54]so obedient to his Lord and the fact that you will never

[5:55]find during the time of the Prophet ever objecting to and ever

[6:02]complaining and saying this is not right you say to me if

[6:06]I was at the position of Ali and the other sahab how

[6:09]dare I question I say to you go and read tar history

[6:13]and you'll see how many sahaba question the prophet how many companions

[6:18]came to the prophet and said Yool Allah I don't think you

[7:37]sit in B in Lebanon and sit next to the river and

[7:39]loved literature he used to read books so his brother used to

[7:44]miss school he didn't used to go to school so his brother

[7:47]bought him a book that George jordak the Christian non-muslim said I

[7:53]read 42 times how many times would you read the book other

[7:59]than the Quran there are some of our youth today who may

[8:03]read novels like Harry Potter and others maybe 10 times but you

[8:07]wouldn't read the book 42 times George jordak said I read this

[8:10]book because I loved it so much how many over 40 times

[8:15]they asked him which book is this he said the words maxims

[8:22]sermons of the commander of the faithful he said I fell in

[8:25]love with alali then I went to University after University I decided

[8:32]to write a book about the life of Ali I sat and

[8:33]I wrote and wrote five volumes in Arabic available in many languages

[8:39]in English and others later he said when I came back home

[8:42]my family was so inspired by the book that I've written that

[8:48]my father is a carpenter he carves things from wood he said

[8:51]the moment I entered the house I saw at the entrance of

[9:09]youth like Ali therefore this man said that I became in awe

[9:19]of ALB because of what because of his relationship with his Lord

[9:24]his total obedience to the prophet of Islam that's why there was

[9:33]name is Paul Sal he some says in Arabic he says I

[9:46]have become I'm a Christian but because of my love that I

[9:49]display towards Ali I have now been called a follower of Ali

[10:01]if Ali was not a prophet then I testify his mannerism was

[10:06]that of prophets that oh heavens bear witness oh Earth shake I

[10:20]have mentioned the name of alibali therefore you see that when it

[10:24]comes to this quality it needs to be mentioned when it comes

[10:30]to the Commander why because many of times we speak about his

[10:32]bravery we speak about his eloquence we don't focus enough about his

[10:37]obedience his obedience was primary was a spectacular excellent Mark of his

[10:44]personality and his character that's why today we recognize that when it

[10:51]comes to what when it comes to his greatest moments was because

[10:58]of his what do you find in the prophet of Islam looked

[13:27]years of Salah I have to give 10 years of can you

[13:32]find me an excuse so I don't give it there are people

[13:36]out there today who want an exit clause when it comes to

[13:41]their looks at the prophet and says if you're going to be

[13:48]safe then I will sleep on your bed question did know he

[13:52]will be saved no did he know that if you sleep on

[13:57]the bed of the Prophet Allah subhana wa tala will save you

[14:00]know if he knew there is no merit in doing so there

[14:04]is no praise for him because otherwise you'd say fine I will

[14:23]it's of the utmost importance that we recognize that the Battle of

[14:27]is a battle that needs to be analyzed why because history has

[14:32]been unjust and unfair to Al you know Ali who's a non

[14:40]sh author he says wah I am surprised about ali his enemies

[14:46]hide his fa and virtues his friends are scared to speak about

[14:55]his and virtues let yet between the East and the West the

[14:58]F of Ali are known own by the people today there is

[15:08]a concerted effort in every Merit in every element of the greatness

[16:17]tell you that we are so honored and a matter of Pride

[16:19]which we must ensure our children are also feeling to be called

[17:51]Khalifa said how can you accept someone like this he is saying

[17:55]things which are all wrong said all that he said was right

[18:00]Subhan Allah he said everything he said was good he said how

[18:07]H was a student of Ali was a student of then explains

[18:12]look at the depth in knowledge look at the understanding that the

[18:15]IM has he said when said it means the Quran says FNA

[18:23]Allah says in the Quran your wealth your children are a cause

[18:29]of trial f means a matter of examination then when he says

[18:35]he says here means M death nobody likes to die so he's

[18:41]saying I don't like to die and when he comes forward and

[18:44]says this is not the Salah that is obligatory this is the

[18:55]Salah doesn't need a wo to recite salawat I have on this

[19:15]a child or doesn't how a wife such knowledge was exemplary one

[19:20]that people would indeed benefit from that's why I'd like to look

[19:33]number of important advantages number one for those of us who haven't

[19:37]heard about it before we can gain understanding of it number two

[25:05]because kufa has a great great future yes in terms of the

[25:08]support for IM when jbra said to the prophet that there are

[25:22]groups of people who are gathered in order to attack you he

[32:46]looking for yes he said I inviting you towards the Oneness of

[32:53]Allah towards The Obedience of the almighty subhah wa tala and the

[32:56]acceptance of the Holy proph of Islam look at them they said

[33:01]we swear by those two Idols we have been waiting for this

[33:09]moment they were delighted they were very happy now when an enemy

[33:15]is now charged this makes your job even further more difficult they

[33:19]said to him we have been waiting for this moment you have

[33:22]come finally we will to them he said woe be to you

[33:38]you are threatening me with death I ask and the Mala will

[35:16]began to what fight them courageously until they attained Victory they attained

[35:21]the victory supported by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala now in Medina that

[35:27]morning the prophet peace and blessings be upon him and his family

[35:31]was praying Sal when he was reciting the Salah he then recited

[35:44]immediately when he finished the Salah they came to him and said

[35:50]Yol Allah what is this ay what is this Surah we've never

[35:52]heard it before he said had just descended and gave me the

[35:57]Glad Tidings that Al and the Muslim Army have been Victorious and

[36:01]have defeated the enemies of Allah towards which there was a huge

[36:18]before what this was indeed before the conquest of meca they had

[36:23]not yet achieved a great victory in Mecca that's why what happened

[37:21]prophet he dismounted he came down because of the respect to from

[37:29]said to him Ali no no no no don't come down this

[37:42]is a moment of ride on your horse Allah and his messenger

[37:47]are pleased with you yes so he came forward he then what

[37:52]he was then greeted by the prophet of Islam Wallah the so

[37:55]beautiful he says the prophet came and kissed Al on his forehead

[38:00]and and then he said what he said to him that you

[38:06]have indeed pleased Allah and his messenger the rewi I saw was

[54:14]world they would be next to him trying to cherish every moment
