[0:13]muhammad foreign oh respected brothers and sisters i congratulate you on the

[1:54]start of the holy month of ramadan the month of fasting the

[2:01]month of spirituality the month of closeness to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[2:05]and the month of ramadan one thing about it is that it

[2:11]is the month of the holy quran allah says in the quran

[2:17]quran this is the month that the quran was revealed in on

[2:23]the night of power on the night of destiny so being that

[2:30]we are the muslims and the quran was given to us we

[2:34]have to appreciate the quran we have to learn from the quran

[2:39]we have to focus on the message of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[2:42]in the quran allah doesn't want us to just read the quran

[2:46]allah wants us to analyze allah wants us to talk about allah

[2:50]wants us to discuss and do when it comes to the quran

[3:01]allah says in the quran do they not ponder about the quran

[3:06]or are their hearts locked some people their hearts are locked all

[3:10]they do is read the quran maybe they read it with a

[3:12]very beautiful voice but they don't understand anything from the quran this

[3:16]is why my dear brothers and sisters we have to make an

[3:21]effort to try to understand the quran to try to understand what

[3:23]is god's message to us these are god's words allah subhanahu wa

[3:27]ta'ala is speaking to us in the quran so what is the

[3:33]message of the quran now inshallah we will be beginning a tafseer

[3:39]session and every day we will pick one surah from the quran

[3:42]one of the shorter surahs these are the surahs that many of

[3:46]us have memorized or we read on a daily basis we read

[3:49]in our salah but many of us we read these surahs and

[3:51]we don't know what they mean so we will pick some and

[3:56]i have others that i have already done in the previous years

[3:59]on my youtube page you could find them the series of short

[4:06]fashion sura so we will inshaallah continue on with that so now

[4:10]we will be looking at surah number 101 surah number 101 which

[4:17]is the verse the surah of the calamity and allah subhanahu wa

[4:29]ta'ala talks about the calamity now what is the calamity is one

[4:37]of the names of the day of judgment and throughout the quran

[4:44]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala one of the major themes in the quran

[4:47]is a discussion of the day of judgment you find all over

[4:53]the quran allah subhanahu wa ta'ala reminds us of this very important

[4:57]day the day of judgment the day of hisab the day of

[5:02]accountability the day of reward and this day has many descriptions throughout

[5:08]the quran in fact we call it the day of judgment but

[5:14]it's not just one day the quran refers to it as a

[5:20]day which is as long as 50 000 years so it is

[5:24]called a day we think of it as a day but in

[5:28]fact it's a huge process a long process and this process starts

[5:34]from the moment we leave this life and later on after who

[5:39]knows how long there is going to be a day of judgment

[5:44]where everyone is awakened from their death awakened from their graves and

[5:49]they rise to be judged by allah subhanahu wa ta'ala once they're

[5:56]judged then the good doers will be rewarded and the evil doers

[6:00]will be punished as a result and consequence of their own actions

[6:04]so one of the names of the day of judgment is the

[6:12]day of al-qara the day of the calamity and allah refers to

[6:19]it as a calamity why because for every single person the day

[6:24]they are waking up from their grave and they are told you're

[6:28]going to be held accountable for everything that you did in life

[6:31]everything that you committed in life that's going to be a calamity

[6:36]for us another name of the day of judgment is yomul hasra

[6:39]the day of regret where every single individual will feel regretful now

[6:47]the concept and the belief in the day of judgment is a

[6:53]concept as we mentioned it is a theme that is constantly referred

[7:00]to in the quran allah constantly reminds us of it in the

[7:05]quran and allah says this dunya that we're living in this life

[7:13]that we're living in this is lahu this is a life of

[7:16]distractions and lab and games and then he says the real life

[7:31]is however we are so preoccupied we're so consumed with this dunya

[7:40]with paying the bills with business with work with everything in life

[7:45]that sometimes we forget the real life and the real life is

[7:51]not this life the real life is the afterlife because that is

[7:56]the real life that will continue forever this life will come to

[8:01]an end eventually and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes on the day

[8:16]of judgment that is when people will be reminded that is when

[8:19]people will say oh only if i did better only if i

[8:22]had done a better job they will say only if i had

[8:43]given and worked for my hayat now at that day hayat is

[8:46]over this life is over but allah refers to the afterlife as

[8:53]the real hayat because this life is very short and insignificant compared

[8:59]to the afterlife so now the quran talks about the day of

[9:05]judgment what is the proof of the day of judgment of course

[9:10]we have in our assorted deen in our five foundations and roots

[9:14]of our faith one of the roots of the faith of every

[9:17]muslim every believer one of the principles of our faith is that

[9:22]we have to believe in the day of judgment if you don't

[9:24]believe in the day of judgment then that means you're rejecting a

[9:29]major part of your belief system you're rejecting accountability you're rejecting hisab

[9:34]and why is that a form of oppression to reject accountability why

[9:41]is the quran stressing on the importance of hisab and accountability and

[9:48]you know reminding us of the day of judgment because if you

[9:53]think about it if a person lives their life without accountability then

[9:58]this person is going to live a life of oppression tyranny imagine

[10:03]there's no checks and balances imagine there's no police imagine there's no

[10:10]law there's no form of reward and punishment then people are going

[10:13]to oppress people are going to take advantage of other people so

[10:17]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because god is just allah and being the

[10:23]allah subhanahu ta'ala is just therefore we believe that there has to

[10:28]be a day of judgment because god is just and if there

[10:33]is no day of judgment if there's no accountability then that means

[10:36]the oppressor will be able to do whatever they want that means

[10:40]the person who was oppressed in this life they're going to be

[10:43]oppressed and that's it they're not going to see the consequences of

[10:46]their actions they lived a life of suffering and that's it they

[10:49]die and there's nothing else no we believe that allah subhanahu ta'ala

[10:54]one is knowledgeable the one who created this whole universe the one

[10:59]who created this whole cosmos system this whole atmosphere this whole life

[11:04]around us starting from the smallest particles to the largest solar systems

[11:10]that one who created this order will also put order in our

[11:18]lives allah will not allow our lives to be chaotic where we

[11:21]do certain things and he doesn't hold us accountable one of the

[11:25]proofs of the day of judgment and hasab is a logical proof

[11:29]you don't need to even believe in the quran you don't even

[11:31]need to believe in a prophet think of it the one who

[11:37]created this whole universe with exact precision if the sun was a

[11:41]little bit closer to the earth we would all burn if the

[11:44]sun was a little bit further away from earth we would all

[11:49]freeze so allah subhanahu ta'ala created everything with precise precision everything is

[11:54]into the detail there's no accidents there's no chance it's not random

[11:58]that we are here just like you see these chairs they're stacked

[12:03]up did they just fall off of the space like this no

[12:06]it's not random that you came and you saw this like this

[12:11]so here similarly this whole universe is not random allah created and

[12:17]the one who holds who creates everything with exact precision will also

[12:22]hold us accountable with precision this is one and second god is

[12:25]just allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will not allow injustice to rule so

[12:33]therefore we believe that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has knowledge and allah

[12:40]is aware who is the one who who is unable to implement

[12:47]justice sometimes you see in some governments there's oppression there's tyranny and

[12:50]some governments there are a few crooks that they come and they

[12:55]steal people's money they kill the oppressed and no one holds them

[12:57]accountable what's that a sign of that's a sign of weakness in

[13:02]the government or no intelligence in the government the government does not

[13:06]have intelligence to know who's committing the crimes there's no intelligence system

[13:10]and the government doesn't have authority to hold people accountable allah is

[13:16]the all-wise he knows everything nothing misses allah god sees everything and

[13:23]second god is the omnipotent god has power and authority over everything

[13:30]so therefore allah is able to implement justice and allah does not

[13:36]oppress so now this is the belief of the day of judgment

[13:43]one is a logical belief and the second is a belief that

[13:47]the prophets and the quran and the imams and the the dignitaries

[13:53]the emissaries that allah subhanahu ta'ala sent they all informed us every

[13:59]single prophet starting from adam all the way on to rasulullah they

[14:02]told people about the day of judgment they told people about accountability

[14:05]and the belief in the day of judgment is not just a

[14:10]belief that only muslims have you find in christianity and judaism and

[14:15]other beliefs there is this core belief of the day of judgment

[14:17]now the day of judgment is described in the quran in numerous

[14:22]ways the day of the rise when people will rise the calamity

[14:34]or when um the hour yo when people rise to allah subhanahu

[14:42]wa yahweh the day of rising yom talaq the day of meeting

[14:49]yom al-fassl the day where justice will prevail and there are many

[14:57]other names of the day of judgments and one of the names

[15:08]of the day of judgment is the name of the surah that

[15:09]we are going to analyze right now surah number 101 in the

[15:15]quran and that is because allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes it on

[15:23]in the quran talks about it as a calamity the day of

[15:35]judgment now yes it's a day of reward for the believers but

[15:40]for many people it's going to be a calamity why it's a

[15:45]calamity because that is the day as we mentioned suddenly you wake

[15:49]someone up and you tell this person you're going to be held

[15:51]accountable you're going to be held accountable for everything that you committed

[15:57]for everything that you did in this life isn't this a calamity

[16:00]i remember when they they say they said that the day saddam

[16:05]was executed they just woke him up he never thought he thought

[16:09]that he was going to get out of it one day they

[16:12]woke him up and they tell him you're going to have to

[16:15]go and you know you're going to court you're going to be

[16:18]judged and then eventually they told him that's a day of calamity

[16:22]now every single one of us will have to face that that

[16:27]is the day of accountability the day where we have to stand

[16:32]in front of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and in this life maybe

[16:36]we are able to escape justice maybe there are some people they're

[16:41]very good they're con artists they know how to cheat the system

[16:44]they know how to cheat the irs they know how to escape

[16:46]from the government and defy the rules and the laws but can

[16:51]someone escape from allah subhanahu ta'ala can someone defy and escape the

[16:57]laws of god no and he says there's no escape from the

[17:10]government of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and in another hadith imam ali alayhi

[17:15]he describes the day of judgment he says he says the day

[17:27]that the oppressed the one who was oppressed in this dunya the

[17:31]day that they will be rewarded for the punishment against the oppressor

[17:36]that oppressed them in this dunya that day in the afterlife is

[17:42]going to be much more severe than the day that the tyrant

[17:44]oppressed the oppressed in this life that is the day of calamity

[17:50]for the oppressors for thee this is why allah and another verse

[17:57]says when people see their actions when people see that they're going

[18:02]to be held accountable for everything what do they say they say

[18:09]only if i was meaning only if i was nothing only if

[18:14]i didn't come to this life only if i didn't exist because

[18:17]now because of i lived a number of years now i'm going

[18:23]to have to pay the price for the oppression that i committed

[18:28]now the hadith says it is recommended to recite it it's a

[18:34]very short surah it's 11 11 verses 11 verses the hadith says

[18:41]that the one who recites it allah subhanahu wa ta'ala of course

[18:47]not just anyone who recites but when you recite and you remind

[18:51]yourself of the day of judgment allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will remove

[18:55]the fear from your heart on the day of judgment the day

[18:57]where everyone will have fear so now let's go and look at

[19:05]the surah and begin to analyze it allah says in the quran

[19:17]you see this word which means striking calamity it is repeated three

[19:23]times three times in the surah now allah subhanahu ta'ala when god

[19:29]allah the words of the quran are very eloquent and when allah

[19:34]subhanahu wa ta'ala wants to relay a very important message sometimes there's

[19:38]repetition in the words there's repetition for example one word that is

[19:44]often repeated in the quran is what any time you read the

[19:53]quran it becomes engraved in your mind it becomes a part of

[19:57]your thinking that when you think of god you think of the

[19:59]mercy giving the merciful bismillah alhamdulillah allah wants you to always think

[20:07]of that now of course there's also other messages that allah wants

[20:10]us to make be a part of our mindset a part of

[20:15]our thinking and one of them is accountability hasab on the day

[20:18]of judgment so this is why this is like meaning allah wants

[20:36]you to see this thing is very important this is why god

[20:39]is going to repeat it you know when the president is giving

[20:44]a speech they count for example how many times did the president

[20:47]repeat this word the number of times this word or this theme

[20:51]was repeated this shows that this is something very important so similarly

[20:57]allah here this theme is very important so allah first says the

[21:07]calamity the striking calamity and then what is the striking calamity and

[21:18]what can make you know what is the striking calamity so this

[21:22]question this is a rhetorical question in the method of speech it

[21:29]makes people allah is going to answer what it is but allah

[21:31]wants you to also think about it allah wants you to have

[21:34]it in your mind so that this is something that you're constantly

[21:37]aware of this is something that you are thinking about and this

[21:43]is the quranic method of shedding light on a topic that is

[21:48]very important and by the way you have to keep in mind

[21:51]that the audience the initial audience of the quran were pagans or

[21:57]group of people that were non-muslim they were idol worshipers now they

[22:01]did believe in god but they didn't believe in the day of

[22:05]judgment they found it very difficult to believe in the day of

[22:09]judgment they used to pass by they used to pass by a

[22:11]rotten corpse where the bones have turned into have turned into dust

[22:18]and they used to say who is going to bring these bones

[22:25]back when they are nothing they found it difficult to comprehend that

[22:29]god is going to recreate people when they are dead allah subhanahu

[22:35]ta'ala says very easily the one who created it out of nothing

[22:45]is able to recreate something that was already created so here telling

[22:49]the pagans the those who don't believe in the day of judgment

[22:55]don't believe in accountability what is this now here what is the

[23:07]next part allah wa ta'ala in the next part and throughout the

[23:13]whole quran there are verses of description of the day of judgment

[23:18]verses that describe the day of judgement and it is describe the

[23:33]day of judgment and of course as we mentioned earlier the day

[23:37]of judgment is not just one day it's a long process one

[23:42]of our scholars by the name of sheikh abbas al-kummi is the

[23:46]author of the book which is called the keys to paradise it's

[23:50]a book of duas sheikh abbas al-kumi has another book by the

[23:56]name of the stages and the phases of the afterlife and in

[24:00]that book from the quran he points out to over 50 stages

[24:08]of the achara you know the hadith says when a person dies

[24:12]your qiyamah has begun begun because that's it you've submitted the test

[24:16]you can't go back to make any amendments you can't go back

[24:20]to make any changes so from the grave the munkar wanna keep

[24:25]rising from the grave given the books all of these things the

[24:32]scale the mizan all of these things are a part of the

[24:34]day of judgment now in this verse allah describes al-qara one part

[24:40]of the day of judgment now it is the day where people

[25:00]will be scattered like the moths which are dispersed you know the

[25:06]butterflies or before before it becomes a butterfly it's a moth so

[25:11]yo mayakun have you seen these butterflies they're just flying everywhere chaotic

[25:19]everyone's afraid or they don't know what's going on this is exactly

[25:25]how allah subhanahu ta'ala describes the day of judgment when you're rising

[25:29]from your grave people don't know what's going to happen and there's

[25:33]a lot of fear in the hearts of people allah describes that

[25:39]that day there's going to be no relationship your father your son

[25:43]the wife the husband parents siblings whatever it is there is no

[25:48]relationship allah describes it in one verse from your lord because the

[26:07]day the earth shakes is going to be a very great shake

[26:14]the day you see it the breastfeeding mother the mother that's holding

[26:20]on to her baby breastfeeding the baby the dearest thing that she

[26:24]has in her hand is her baby that day because of the

[26:29]fear even the mother will let go of her baby because she's

[26:35]going to think of herself she's going to think of herself that's

[26:38]it they say there was a study that was done many years

[26:45]ago when when they used to do studies on animals and now

[26:47]they don't do this anymore in science labs they're there in this

[26:54]study they got this chimpanzee and they placed it with its baby

[27:00]they placed it in a room in a hot room a room

[27:01]that has a metal floor and they would turn on the heat

[27:06]they turn on the heat of the metal floor so as soon

[27:11]as the mother the mother chimpanzee and the baby the the newborn

[27:16]chimpanzee with her as soon as she felt heat right away she

[27:18]grabs her child she grabs the baby and she holds it because

[27:23]she doesn't want the baby to feel the warmth to feel the

[27:24]heat and they kept cranking up the heat they kept cranking up

[27:29]the heat so the baby started the mother started moving one leg

[27:34]and putting one leg moving one leg putting one leg one leg

[27:37]one leg until it became so hot it puts the baby down

[27:41]and it steps on it this is exactly what allah says in

[27:46]the quran this is the day of judgment the day where people

[28:05]are not going to care about anyone else nothing is going to

[28:10]matter on that day the only thing that's going to matter is

[28:12]am i passing this test or am i not passing this test

[28:17]and one hadith the wife of the prophet she asks rasulallah she

[28:23]tells him she tells him on the day of judgment people will

[28:31]be resurrected naked then she tells him this rasulullah says this people

[28:39]will be resurrected naked so she says people are going to not

[28:58]even care about these things anymore people are going to be in

[29:02]such a state of shock where that doesn't even that's not something

[29:04]that's under they're not even going to care about that anymore they're

[29:08]going to everyone is concerned whether they pass the test or they

[29:14]do not pass the test people will be dispersed like the moths

[29:25]and not only people this whole universe it will be chaotic now

[29:31]there's order now you see the sun rises every day at this

[29:39]particular time the moon has its own orbit the the stars and

[29:41]the syst the solar system the cosmis system there is a specific

[29:46]order they could come and they would tell you in five years

[29:49]there's going to be an eclipse because we know by exact precise

[29:52]calculations they'll come and they'll tell you everything that's happening that order

[29:56]is going to be gone on the day of judgment the the

[30:03]sun will go out the moon will not give light anymore it

[30:09]will not reflect the light of the sun anymore and here the

[30:13]mountains the mountains will be like wool like fluffed wool like you

[30:23]know cotton have you seen cotton it just flies it's all over

[30:26]the place the the the mountains will be like well there's nothing

[30:30]left of it this mountain that you stand on this mountain that

[30:35]you build on this mountain that is so strong and solid on

[30:38]earth this mountain will be nothing this is what will happen allah

[30:45]subhanahu ta'ala the one who created this earth allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[30:48]will bring it to a destruction and not only earth everything and

[30:54]creation will come to an end now here allah wants us to

[31:02]take a pause the quran is not just the book of stories

[31:05]not just oh it's a day of a frightening day [Laughter] no

[31:13]allah doesn't want you to just hear these stories and get scared

[31:17]allah wants us to take lessons every verse in the quran every

[31:23]word in the quran serves as a lesson for you and i

[31:25]but how many of us take these lessons how many of us

[31:28]pay attention to the words of allah here the next part allah

[31:34]is telling us why why he was telling us all these verses

[31:55]why is it the day of the calamity it's the day of

[32:01]calamity because it's the day of accountability because people will be held

[32:05]accountable for their actions and one of the ways where allah subhanahu

[32:08]ta'ala will hold people accountable is by placing the deeds on a

[32:16]skill there's going to be a skill misan everyone will have a

[32:19]skill just like you know everyone gets nervous in front of a

[32:22]scale even when they bring the scale and we have to stand

[32:26]on it some people get nervous they don't like the scale especially

[32:28]if they're a little bit you know on the heavier end so

[32:33]here the day of judgment the scale is going to be also

[32:38]very nerve-wracking but it's not going to be measuring how much how

[32:41]many pounds you weigh it's going to measure how much deeds you

[32:44]have how many good deeds you have and how many bad sins

[32:50]you have committed here allah in another verse in surah the one

[33:13]who does an adam's weight and adam's weight of good they will

[33:18]see it on the day of judgment you smile in the face

[33:20]of someone this is sadaqa that is going to be something that

[33:24]you will see and a bad deed you will also see woman

[33:29]as well so here is telling us those who their scale is

[33:39]heavy with good deeds this person is going to be satisfied it's

[33:47]not a calamity for you you're going to be happy this is

[33:51]the day you were waiting for this the day you were anticipating

[34:03]however those who there they see the good deeds they're light they

[34:08]don't weigh anything imagine you work hard your whole life and you

[34:13]put all of your money in the bank right and then you

[34:19]go to the bank and you go and you see the bank

[34:22]the value the money has no value the currency lost its value

[34:27]or there's no currency in there there's no money in there or

[34:30]there is money but it lost all its value evaporated how how

[34:35]difficult is that going to be it's going to be extremely difficult

[34:39]your whole life your whole investments you put it here then you

[34:46]come and you see it's all gone so here one this is

[35:04]called um doesn't mean their mother it means um that's where they

[35:08]were they're going to be taken from from from their head and

[35:14]they're going to be pushed in the hell fire for um it's

[35:17]going to fall the top of their head is going to fall

[35:22]in the hellfire and what is it it is a fire that

[35:28]is heated up it is a fire that is warmed up so

[35:32]the day of judgment is the day of judgment that's why it's

[35:37]called the day of judgment where we are going to be judged

[35:40]and it's a day of accountability and there allah subhana maybe in

[35:45]this life some people they'll cheat the system some people will be

[35:49]able to they've done wrong they they skip the line they do

[35:51]this and that no allah is all seeing allah is all-powerful no

[35:56]one could cheat the system with god no matter what your name

[36:01]is no matter what your last name is no matter which country

[36:03]you come from no matter anything it doesn't matter the clothes you

[36:08]wear all of that doesn't matter anymore doesn't matter at all and

[36:12]here in an interesting story imam zain al-abidin imam ali abdul hussain

[36:19]one of the one of his companions one of the narrators he

[36:24]said i heard someone crying by the kaaba in the middle of

[36:28]the night at that time 1300 years ago there was no electricity

[36:31]he says i heard someone doing tawaf around the kaaba i didn't

[36:35]know who it was the narrator his name is he says i

[36:41]heard a beautiful duha being recited and someone doing tawaf in the

[36:44]midst of the night around the kaaba and he's saying anamika she

[37:09]says he says i heard this person saying oh allah all the

[37:13]kings have closed their doors everyone their doors shut in the middle

[37:16]of the night but your doors open so i ask you to

[37:21]have mercy on me and to show me the face of my

[37:26]grandfather rasool allah and the darkness of qiyama the darkness one of

[37:29]the qualities of the day of judgment is it's dark the shams

[37:33]there's no more light anymore so here he says he kept doing

[37:39]duha and until he fainted he fell he says i go to

[37:40]him i sprinkle water i see this is this is imam zain

[37:48]al-abidin so he tells him sayyidi my master this is how you

[37:53]are talking to allah what should we be saying if you're saying

[37:57]this he says and this is the part i wanted to focus

[37:59]on imam zayn abdeen opened his eyes and he tells him he

[38:20]tells him don't tell me who my father and my family is

[38:25]because allah created the allah created heaven for whoever obeys him even

[38:31]if this is a slave from habasha from abyssinia and allah subhanahu

[38:37]ta'ala created the hell fire for whoever disobeyed him even if this

[38:41]is a saiyan from quraish even if this is from the descendants

[38:47]of the prophet god is just on the day of judgment so

[38:49]now my dear brothers and sisters some people on the day of

[38:55]judgment there are certain things that will make the scale heavy and

[38:58]there are certain things that will make the scale very light on

[39:00]the day of judgment what are certain things that make the scale

[39:13]heavy on the day of judgment and what are certain things that

[39:18]remove and make the scale very light on the day of judgment

[39:20]one of the most important statements of course statement that is backed

[39:26]by belief one of the most important things that will make the

[39:44]scale heavy on the day of judgment is the shahada the kalima

[39:48]and this is what distinguishes between a muslim and a non-muslim so

[39:52]this is why it makes the scale very heavy on the day

[39:54]of judgment in a hadith he says he says he says the

[40:12]shahada he says these are two testimonies the first is the second

[40:17]is they raise your words and they make the deeds the actions

[40:30]they give reward to it say for example i came and i

[40:33]gave i did a good deed but i don't believe in god

[40:36]that reward i will receive it in this dunya because i don't

[40:40]believe in i don't believe in god but if i believe in

[40:44]god and i came and i did a good deed i will

[40:46]see the reward in this dunya and the greater reward in the

[40:51]akhirah so he from the scale of any person that skill will

[41:08]be nothing it will not weigh anything so here khaf and any

[41:18]skill if you put that you put the shahada that skill will

[41:23]be very heavy on the day of judgement so this is one

[41:24]this is why we should always say the shahadah say it and

[41:28]believe in it of course i believe that there is no god

[41:34]other than allah wash and that prophet muhammad is the messenger of

[41:38]god and when we have to act upon it when i say

[41:42]i believe that there is no god other than allah this means

[41:44]that no one has an impact on my life other than allah

[41:48]now yes there are means that allah has allowed but that's it

[41:54]god should be the core of my life so this is one

[41:58]second thing that makes the scale very heavy on the day of

[42:05]judgment is to say allah muhammad in the mizan that is heavier

[42:33]than salat jose you find oh this person is barely making it

[42:52]once they put the salah they see that the it becomes so

[42:57]much heavier it becomes a lot heavier on the mizan now some

[43:03]there's there's certain things that will increase through good deeds and bad

[43:11]deeds you will also see it here there's a hadith that says

[43:16]some people on the day of judgment they've done a lot of

[43:19]good deeds they go they look at their their scale they see

[43:23]it's nothing it's very light there's nothing in there so they say

[43:30]what happened so allah will tell this person god is just and

[43:34]yes you did have a lot of good deeds but you did

[43:38]a lot of oppression as well you hurt this person you talked

[43:42]bad about this person you abused this person you assaulted this person

[43:45]and this person was weak in this dunya you were you didn't

[43:50]apologize you didn't compensate this person for the oppression that you caused

[43:55]so therefore allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is going to take from your

[44:01]good deeds and allah is going to give it to that person

[44:04]they keep doing that they say all their good deeds he sees

[44:07]all their good deeds is gone then suddenly he looks at the

[44:12]scale again and he sees there's bad deeds that he did not

[44:14]commit they're in there he says what happened where did these bad

[44:17]deeds come from they tell him you ran out of good deeds

[44:21]so we started taking your bad deeds from the others to give

[44:23]it to you there's justice and this dunya you oppress this person

[44:27]and this dunya you took away this person's rights you took away

[44:30]everything from this person you abused and assaulted this person in order

[44:34]to establish justice you're going to have to take the bad deeds

[44:39]from this person and you gave the good deeds to that person

[44:42]so this is why my dear brothers and sisters we have to

[44:45]be very careful if we do a good deed we have to

[44:48]look at a holistic approach don't oppress anyone don't hurt anyone don't

[44:53]talk about anyone if we've hurt people try to deal with it

[44:55]sort it out in this dunya before it has to get sorted

[45:00]out in the afterlife but as for one whose scales are light

[45:11]his refuge will be in abyss hawaii meaning in the hell fire

[45:17]and what can make you know what that is what is this

[45:22]abyss it is a fire that is intensely hot we ask allah

[45:28]subhanahu wa ta'ala to protect us from the torment of the hell

[45:30]fire we ask allah subhanahu ta'ala to make our lives a life

[45:39]that we live in accordance to allah wants because at the end

[45:42]of the day god is just god is going to make us

[45:45]see the consequences of our own actions so therefore we have to

[45:50]be on the right track and put ourselves on the right track

[45:55]so that we will be safe on that day and this holy

[45:59]month the month of ramadan the whole purpose of fasting the whole

[46:02]purpose of you know refraining from food and all of that allah

[46:18]being alert anything good you want to do do it for the

[46:22]sake of god anything bad you're about to do don't do it

[46:27]for the sake of god this is taqwa and taqwa is from

[46:32]the word wakaya what does wakaya mean wakaya means immunity you protect

[46:36]yourself through taqwa and you increase that taqwa through fasting through salah

[46:41]through good deeds through acts of charity and acts that bring you

[46:47]closer to allah subhanahu ta'ala so we ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[46:50]to help us and support us in doing good deeds that bring

[46:56]us closer to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala let us raise our hands

[47:08]hey foreign menaats those who are unable to make it this ramadan

[48:08]there were people that were with us last ramadan this ramadan they're

[48:12]not with us let us remember them in our fatah in our

[48:18]quran in doing good deeds and for the souls of those who

[48:22]are sponsoring and supporting these programs and all of the menin muhammad
