[0:19]American troops at the US alum base in Syria have reportedly held

[0:22]a celebration marking one year since the fall of Assad's government.

[0:26]The anniversary centers around Syria's new self-declared leader, Abu Muhammad Julani, once

[0:32]a wanted terrorist, a former al-Qaeda and ISIS member, now rebranded by

[0:37]Western governments as a legitimate political [music] figure.

[0:39]It's the same uprising once packaged to the world as a people's

[0:42]revolution.

[0:43]Even as Israeli forces expanded deeper into Syrian territory, including areas untouched

[0:49]since the Yam Kapoor war in 73, US bases remain fully entrenched

[0:53]on Syrian soil.

[0:55]And Israel has repeatedly bombed Syria's [music] remaining military infrastructure.

[0:58]Instead of liberation, Syria is more fragmented, more occupied, and more vulnerable

[1:02]than at any point in decades.

[1:04]The so-called revolution has delivered everything except sovereignty.

[1:09]Especially when the self-appointed leader himself said that Israel isn't the enemy

[1:14]and they fee Israel.

[1:16]As foreign powers celebrate, Syrians are left asking when does the revolution

[1:20]finally return their country to them.
