[18:06][Music] foreign foreign so [Music] i'd like to extend our condolences to
[19:38]the imam of our time and to all of them on the
[19:42]occasion of the shahadah can i please request the recitation of [Music]
[19:59]fantastic alhamdulillah we are grateful to have sheikh mujahid sharif to once
[20:21]again be delivering the image list for us this evening can please
[20:24]ask for me to join me in welcoming him with around the
[20:29]world [Applause] oh foreign i believe that it is her death anniversary
[21:33]today she wants to be around this time during the uh of
[21:40]this great lady we are commemorating tonight family oh yeah what request
[22:24]is sitting on that side if they would move a little bit
[22:28]inside if you don't mind please decide it would be nice if
[22:39]you are but equally distributed is actually painting me at night after
[22:43]magnesium concentrating just on one side and here we just have one
[22:50]or two more minimums now i said jesus [Music] foreign foreign [Music]
[23:39]my [Music] [Music] bismillah [Music] me i know that during winter at
[25:10]around this time it feels like midnight for us to recite monkeys
[25:16]at this time is also difficult i'm not as young as i
[25:20]used to be when i first came to verse 6 things have
[25:27]changed i've lost hair on my head and they have also become
[25:30]grey because i was in basics now i am approaching my old
[25:35]age and we have the habit of sleeping early as well so
[25:39]when we are told to recite honestly you see it is literally
[25:55]a luna bay i giving me the sleep so i request you
[26:02]this is [Music] which you recite or would you be resigned this
[26:09]is one of those things which will inshaallah be added on the
[26:15]day of judgement the the winning scale of deeds and all our
[26:22]good deeds will be placed on weighing scale and still it will
[26:27]not weigh heavy the way it is required then it will be
[26:34]said that when the sarawak which they used to recite and edit
[26:39]and that is how insha'allah we will be able to attain our
[26:41]salvation on that day so let us not be miserable in in
[26:52]offering our salutations so please decide three times [Applause] [Music] for sure
[27:18]that whatever we do in this life whatever acts we commit are
[27:27]being recorded these deeds shall be presented to us in the year
[27:33]after or the day of judgment and then we shall be either
[27:39]rewarded or punished accordingly we will find that islam is not only
[27:49]instructing us to perform ramadan to perform the largest deeds but it
[27:57]is also encouraging us to perform them purely for the for the
[28:05]player of umass and in such a manner that we are able
[28:13]to leave behind the tresses of those good deeds such that they
[28:22]benefit people after us or they are able to emulate us in
[28:25]those deeds and follow the path i have in the beginning of
[28:33]our discourse recited the 12th verse of the most famous surah of
[28:39]the quran in which allah and we write down whatever they send
[28:59]forth whatever they send ahead and whatever they leave behind of their
[29:08]needs as effects or traces [Music] if we study the life of
[29:25][Music] we will find they did this the means which they performed
[29:34]was purely for the pleasure of allah and nobody else and they
[29:43]performed those deed in such a manner that they left behind the
[29:47]tresses of those deeds the effects of those deeds so that people
[29:51]after them can not only benefit from those needs but can actually
[29:56]emulate and follow them in those days tonight is the 15th of
[30:03]rajab and we are commemorating we extend our uh condomences to the
[30:26]living imam of our time and to our muslims to all the
[30:35]lovers and followers halloween bathe who are grieving this great lady tonight
[30:40]if we study her life we will find that she had a
[30:48]lot to offer to us all men and women and should we
[30:54]choose in this life to follow the legacies which she has left
[30:58]behind then we will find that these legacies are not only going
[31:17]salvation in the here after in tonight's mother's inshallah very briefly we
[31:26]would like to briefly discuss some of the legacies which this great
[31:34]lady left behind for us to benefit from and at the same
[31:39]time to emulate her and follow and trade upon her path one
[31:43]of the legacies which the historians talk about which the only talk
[31:49]about is attaching importance to acquisition and embodying of ill of knowledge
[31:58]particularly the knowledge of horror and this is one of her legacies
[32:11]and there is no doubt about it they know that when it
[32:14]comes to knowledge our general understanding about it is the knowledge is
[32:20]of two kinds one is what we call a secular education or
[32:27]secular knowledge and the other one is religious knowledge isn't it islam
[32:31]is not discouraging us from acquiring secular knowledge the general education now
[32:40]in fact we will find that it encourages us because islam wants
[32:44]us to be ahead of everyone in this life it is encouraging
[32:50]us that from amongst us it is muslims we should have doctors
[32:53]we should have ingenious we should have i.t professionals we should have
[32:57]pharmacists we should have nurses we should have engineers and people from
[33:01]different professions and we will find that most of these people also
[33:11]through their profession over services to humanity so islam is not discouraging
[33:20]us but islam is telling us that in addition to this knowledge
[33:24]which you are acquiring for this world so that you could live
[33:29]in it comfortably and you are able to have a decent life
[33:33]for yourself important thing for you as a willing word is a
[33:41]muslim as a mob is to have sound understanding of the holy
[33:47]quran that is the deen why what is the reason the reason
[33:54]is simple when it comes to all the other types of education
[33:58]the bottom line is that we are acquiring this for that at
[34:02]the end of the day we are able to spend a decent
[34:05]life in this world isn't it we should have a good house
[34:11]for ourselves we should be able to wear good rules and we're
[34:13]fooled together we are able to support our children and our relatives
[34:17]to have a better life in this world this is the reason
[34:23]despite the fact that we go out and help others but this
[34:26]is why we i remember as a child i was told you
[34:34]study or you will become a barber little did they know that
[34:39]barber being barber will become a big profession that is today they
[34:46]are not any more cold barbers than good entrances and they seem
[34:49]to be making more money together with the doctors and the pharmacist
[34:54]than anybody else during the government because this hair is going to
[35:00]go on many heads if not mine [Music] islam is instructing us
[35:12]that as muslims it is your duty to acquire knowledge and understanding
[35:17]of god and religion so that together with your physics together with
[35:31]your body it is your soul that also thrives this is what
[35:38]islam wants and that is why you will find it indeed it
[35:59]will acquire for you a true life so when we are when
[36:07]iran is saying that you seek knowledge this knowledge which imam is
[36:12]talking about includes the general knowledge but mostly the knowledge of islam
[36:22]the knowledge of quran the knowledge of why because it will give
[36:27]you true life or what we call according to pure life it's
[36:35]going to give you true life that is acquired through knowledge is
[36:42]is what is that the true life which you have acquired of
[36:48]say advertising your academic huh only or through which you the knowledge
[36:58]through which you are able to provide for yourself beautiful house and
[37:04]the latest model of the car on the wall and wear the
[37:08]best of the clothes or knowledge which leads you to attend certain
[37:17]status in this life so that you can become arrogant is this
[37:20]the true life that has been acquired through knowledge what is that
[37:25]imam trying to tell us you see a person would hearten us
[37:31]that will acquire this to this true life true knowledge will be
[37:38]the one who will have two things in him we'll have attained
[37:43]two things when he attains these two things that is true that
[37:58]is being cognizant of allah for our affairs this is one of
[38:22]those qualities that will be found in those people who will actually
[38:29]be spending or enjoying the true life imam is talking about mathematics
[38:40]all the good deeds which we perform in this life including which
[38:48]we perform whether it is at home individually or at the center
[38:52]collectively if the cognitions of allah is not there then it is
[39:02]very blessed it's not that we should stop performing it but what
[39:07]we should do is we should try to avoid that cognizance of
[39:12]allah he [Music] and the third thing is having firm belief has
[40:09]to be attained so that we get the true life iman is
[40:14]talking about that is obtained through knowledge this is maharifa and we'll
[40:23]find that there is a beautiful tradition of imam in which talking
[40:35]about this he says in another place knowledge for verily its acquisition
[40:52]is an act of goodness why then imam goes on to explain
[40:59]and he says it allah is obeyed and he is worshipped and
[41:14]it is only through knowledge that allah is recognized and one believes
[41:22]in his unity he believes in his tawheed so this is one
[41:29]of those things if it is there then this person is leading
[41:34]the true life the life of this world is really not true
[41:40]life huh this is this is not true life if we think
[41:43]that this is true life we will be shocked at the time
[41:49]of death we will be shocked the prophet has said that people
[41:55]are in deep slumber they are fast asleep [Music] they will wake
[42:01]up they will wake up toward to the true life the actual
[42:08]life and for that actual life what we require of have allah
[42:17]like me who do not have the of allah can easily wear
[42:22]when it comes to our faith anybody would come and misguide me
[42:31]easily especially if you bring somebody with an excellent oration would come
[42:36]i would do you know whatever easily why because that maharifa is
[42:40]lagging it's not there or when we face problems and difficulties of
[42:47]this life until then we are good believers but the moment we
[42:53]are you see we turn away from allah and we start complaining
[42:56]against him away from our responsibilities as far as our religion is
[43:02]concerned blaming allah subhanahu wa for the afflictions that have befallen upon
[43:07]us why is that happening it's because of lack of that therefore
[43:14]my brothers and sisters it is essential that in this life we
[43:20]should give importance to acquisition of in fact i would say especially
[43:40]during the lockdown there are so many ongoing programs i don't know
[43:46]if you have noticed you will only notice if you have that
[43:48]habit of talking to your spouses but if you don't invite different
[44:22]speakers to speak for females and they increase their knowledge about quran
[44:28]and about the traditions what is happening to us where are we
[44:38]yet to hear that there are some special programs for men being
[44:44]conducted quran for example it is important we used to have that
[44:55]at one time in in in what we call pink bungalow it's
[44:58]gone it's demolished already we used to have cars we have programs
[45:12]uh different kinds of modules on islamic subjects are being held should
[45:19]be there we should be partaking we should be in the forefront
[45:22]in enquiring so that we are able to strengthen our faith and
[45:32]require the cognitions of allah subhanahu wa we will find that uh
[45:36]saksarabin was a very wealthy person he once brought his young son
[45:46]in the presence of the same person who possesses so many camels
[46:06]the owner of so many candles in those days possession of kevin's
[46:12]expensive it's like possessing more january today and he said no i
[46:20]am the same if i asked him what did you do with
[46:23]your cables he said that mawlana what i do is i slaughter
[46:26]them and feed the meat to the people imam smiled and he
[46:31]said allah this is the best thing to do what imam is
[46:33]trying to imply is that if allah has blessed you in this
[46:38]life share the blessing with others especially those who are less fortunate
[46:41]share the blessings although this is a good thing which you did
[46:46]and then looking at the young man who was standing next to
[46:50]him he said where is he is my son and he is
[46:57]ashamed is a poet in those days poetry was a big thing
[46:59]in the days of that that is why you find that the
[47:02]quran came as a challenge in that society this is what we
[47:14]do when we are asked about our children isn't it we take
[47:19]a pride in that and we say oh you know our children
[47:21]they have become this and they have become that when i heard
[47:27]that he is a child imam did not phrase him in any
[47:32]way he said teach you even this is going to be better
[47:38]for him than poetry today isn't it especially for the millennials isn't
[47:47]it what it means how dare you should be praising this is
[47:55]going to be better for him than poetry that the young man
[47:59]who was present at that time the words of amir al-mumin hit
[48:03]him so hard that he vowed there and that that i am
[48:07]not going to leave my house until such time that i have
[48:09]memorized the whole quran in his entirety and this is what he
[48:15]did you know that young man later on became so one of
[48:27]the things true life which is talking about is attained through knowledge
[48:35]knowledge which brings about the communism and inner knowledge of allah this
[48:41]is why and another thing for true life is that it as
[48:58]human beings there are so many potentials within us and most of
[49:05]the time those potentials are suppressed probably because of of different reasons
[49:10]fairly negative or the kind of community in which we but these
[49:23]potentials behavior come up through knowledge of quran having sound understanding of
[49:28]quran traditions is one of the ways to bring this out if
[49:38]i'm not mistaken in one of his books his he says that
[49:47]there was this wise woman very wise woman who was traveling in
[49:51]the mountains when she found a precious stone in a stream very
[49:58]expensive stone she found so she took it and she put it
[50:04]in her and she continued with her journey on the way she
[50:07]met a person who was extremely hungry and he asked for help
[50:11]since there anything at that time so she just opened her bag
[50:22]to see if there is anything that will come out usually women
[50:24]but they carry who was standing there happened to see the precious
[50:42]stone here and he said immediately to her forget about everything give
[50:50]me this give me this now when i was reading there's a
[50:53]simple error i thought to myself in my position once again i
[50:59]would have first attacked him what right do you have to peep
[51:03]into my big isn't it here i am going to help you
[51:07]and you he said i don't want this i want something that
[51:44]is more precious than this [Music] and she asks what is that
[51:50]i don't without hesitation that previous veterans that giving attribute which is
[52:08]there in you that is what i i understand the potential that
[52:17]exists potentials that exist in us as human beings and the behaviors
[52:21]which are there within us we can either become true human beings
[52:26]or we can become beasts and monsters even in the same family
[52:46]sometimes we will find husband and wife not talking for ages not
[52:50]willing to even look at each each other maybe i'm because i'm
[52:55]in much more committee and there are cases that come together surprised
[52:58]sometimes that hijab these are the people when they come to masjid
[53:02]they are in the forefront they behave as if they are religious
[53:07]and this is how they behave with each other not recognizing that
[53:14]they don't have hope for allah they don't know that they are
[53:18]lied and respond to allah and some of them are even parents
[53:24]this is just parents having problems with their children not in talking
[53:32]terms at all talking to the daughters not talking to the parents
[53:38]and and brothers and having problems in in family in the files
[53:45]the behavior is disappeared and you will find that there are in
[53:50]the forefront in all the other professions doctors and engineers and people
[53:56]huge is [Music] that is what is going to give you true
[54:23]life and this is what quran also says that when allah and
[54:28]his prophet call you response respond to allah and his prophet when
[54:38]they called you for what to provide you with true life that
[54:45]is where true life our souls need to thrive not only these
[54:49]bodies it will end someday one of our titles uh is of
[55:14][Music] this is the title which was given to her [Music] and
[55:47]there is [Music] he has related some of the hadith traditions directly
[56:22]from that without anyone he the daughter of another woman without going
[56:35]into details or to find out you know how she is or
[56:40]whom and whether she should accept nana such was the status of
[56:44]she was born in that house the house of knowledge the house
[56:49]in which the maiden film had the knowledge of foreign quran so
[56:53]much so that if you would talk to her she would respond
[57:31]and one of her sayings many sayings which she said in presence
[57:39]of her there are things that are dubious unknown isn't it here
[58:03]you see we have interest but there's this should be a loophole
[58:14]isn't it this is this is what this is the tendency which
[58:18]we have discussing this with her brothers and she gave her opinion
[58:24]this opinion has then been repeated by none other than over 16
[58:29]months she said that as far as the dean of allah dubious
[58:51]she says the believers who want the best of this world and
[58:56]the best of the year after are those who will abstain from
[59:14]step further and achieve closeness [Music] m and we will find that
[59:34]i mean if you study her life she was possessing this of
[59:43]allah of knowledge giving importance while she was in madina she used
[60:01]to conduct stations for the women of medina teaching them islamic laws
[60:06]so important faith is something that we are bored with we do
[60:13]not want to get much into it we're only going to learn
[60:15]when we feel that we have to face certain circumstances that is
[60:19]when we come to our laws first as we say but here
[60:24]you say this end of spending our time teaching the women of
[60:30][Music] [Music] [Music] this is listening to her and she probably did
[61:30]not touch on this and move ahead with others of other verses
[61:37]imam then calls her and he says do you know these letters
[61:42]which are there mentioned what do they imply this is in one
[61:49]of our traditions she says he is going to use your thirst
[62:06]as a weapon to fight against you what are you required to
[62:12]do swag exercise server so this we will find in one of
[62:18]the legacies of saying it has given importance to islamic education to
[62:25]acquisition of knowledge of quran and of we as the followers my
[62:30]brothers and sisters must also strive to give importance to these things
[62:35]and bring about the changes in ourselves so that we are able
[62:42]to attain the shafa in the year after the other legacy which
[62:48]she has left behind there's no doubt about it she is the
[63:00]first one to hold the budgies of her brother and then two
[63:05]in the palace of for near the palace of here this is
[63:11]like that we were known this which we hold let us not
[63:19]take them lightly sometimes because we have been in it for a
[63:24]long time we begin to take these for granted the first one
[63:29]to establish this was saying after the event of karbala we know
[63:37]that when it were taken as captives amongst them [Music] they were
[63:43]taken from kanban that are you going to stay here in damascus
[63:58]or do you desire to go back to madida and our imam
[64:03]said that i cannot comment on this i need to ask my
[64:07]aunt and but first the house should be vacated for us here
[64:24]in damascus why because since i have left [Music] and the basilisk
[64:42]of imam hussain my brothers my sisters this is one of the
[64:45]which we have it is through these do we realize that how
[64:53]many people have been guided we have some people who have no
[64:59]shame they stand up and say casual this month they talk for
[65:06]themselves because they have their own benefit and on the other hand
[65:15]you will find people they will tell you that they did not
[65:16]mean for these majorities of aza then today we would not be
[65:25]the shias of our faith we would have been lost he says
[65:29]what are we what are we we would not have been what
[65:36]we she saw how the muslims dealt with rasulullah at the time
[66:08]of his death rasulullah passed away from this world she saw how
[66:13]the muslims dealt with his mother father after the death of her
[66:20]father that within three months she passed away from this world they
[66:22]came to burn down the house of father they threw the door
[66:27]on him they she witnessed monks in being killed in the boom
[66:30]of her [Music] this is what she saw she saw her father
[66:46]being killed with her brother they betrayed him and she saw that
[67:00]how his her brother was [Music] she one who gave her own
[67:17]sons and sacrificed them the atrocities which she faced in this life
[67:23]allah allah again there she was kevin as a captive [Music] and
[67:37]finally when she was freed from there together with which of the
[67:51]atrocities on this night should hide that she herself sent them to
[68:11]sacrifice their lives for the sake of her brother and when the
[68:15]bodies of our mother were brought in was informed she came into
[68:21]that dam in which the two bodies of her sons who are
[68:24]lying you know what she did she put in between the two
[68:29]bodies she recited and thereafter she kept her head and she said
[69:19]is signed up on the 11th of maharanam left as a captive
[69:23]she cried for her brother but never cried for ramon and muhammad
[69:29]she came in the prison of kufa she cried only for jose
[69:45][Music] as soon as she entered the house of her husband after
[69:51]library java at the moment she entered the house her eyes fell
[69:56]on a small room in which she saw two small beddings she's
[70:02]not [Applause] how is this bottle going to live in this house
[70:32][Music] foreign [Music] it foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] foreign
[73:33][Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] foreign is [Music] he
[76:19]foreign [Laughter] [Music] foreign is [Music] with regards to leaving the center
