Sand In the Land of Karbala | Sayed Ali Alhakeem | English
A poem written by the poet Raza Abbas rizvi where the tragedies of Karbala are seen from the perspective of the blessed Sands on that land.
Lyrics-
Sand in the land of karbala
I’m raised by a strong gust
I fill this land with dust
The pure air I cover
Causing heavy thunder
Hussain walks and I shake
Whilst every grain of me aches
To the camp I descend
Just wanting to defend
Hussain who's a guest here
For his safety I fear
Towards the sky I went
From bad eyes I hid his tent
I watch Zainab in grief
I see tears as she grieves
She's holding Hussain tight
Pleading, don't leave my side
Will he ever return?
Or upon me will he burn?
I am totally blown
As to what I've been shown
Master grant me my wish
Your pure steps let me kiss
Honour me with respect
And let me fall on your steps
I am losing all hope
I’m unable to cope
His body is bleeding
I pray that I’m dreaming
Hussain's wounds are fatal
His body I will cradle
