[0:03][Music] [Music] yay my dear brothers and sisters welcome back to our

[0:32]tafsir of the holy quran this week we look at chapter 101

[0:37]of the holy quran known as whether you are an arab living

[0:40]in the time of the holy prophet peace be upon him and

[0:43]his family or whether you're living in the year 2020 in london

[0:47]you always wonder in one way or the other about a day

[0:52]of judgment a day of resurrection what exactly is going to happen

[0:55]on that day and you see this as discussed throughout the holy

[0:59]quran i'm sure if i were to ask all you guys to

[1:01]name me the different names for the day of resurrection you might

[1:07]bring in the word you might bring in the word the word

[1:10]qiyam you might bring in for example you might bring in different

[1:17]names for that particular day the reality is that each of these

[1:22]names allows us to have some sort not a complete some sort

[1:28]of understanding of how we're going to be feeling on that day

[1:32]and which things we should look out for from now so that

[1:41]on that day we're not as confused as everybody else may be

[1:44]you know when sometimes you sit with your teacher and you're like

[1:48]is there any um revision questions you have which normally come up

[1:52]in the exam or can you prepare me for how it is

[1:56]to walk into an exam i remember in my day they used

[2:00]to actually prepare us about how do you walk into an exam

[2:02]because naturally they know that on that day the slightest noise may

[2:06]make a difference to us would they know on that day there's

[2:08]going to be certain nerves and they also know that on that

[2:12]day the people who matter the most to us may not necessarily

[2:14]be with us you see over here when i'm in london for

[2:17]example i've got my family around me i've got my friends around

[2:23]me so if i get stuck while i'm in london i'm not

[2:24]too worried about what's happening whereas if for example i go to

[2:29]a foreign country i don't have my family around me my brothers

[2:33]and sisters around me do you agree that the slightest noise for

[2:37]example or even the roads that i have never walked on before

[2:42]can cause some sort of fear inside me where suddenly i start

[2:46]walking in different directions as if i'm lost i'm a stranger so

[2:50]what these sword of the quran are doing like surat like other

[2:55]chapters talking about the day of judgment they have two aims the

[2:59]first aim is to allow us to recognize what i need to

[3:05]have revised so that i'm ready for that day how do i

[3:08]prepare myself for that day none of us can come to that

[3:13]day and say that we weren't warned about how it's going to

[3:16]be and one of the sawar that warns you about how things

[3:20]are going to be on the day of judgment the second idea

[3:26]was also knowing that the kuffar as we always mentioned in the

[3:28]holy quran and in all of our discussions what scares you the

[3:33]most whether you're a catholic or a muslim discussions about death and

[3:38]yom al-qayama isn't it if you discuss with me now in muharram

[3:41]be like oh nice lecture masha allah it's good everybody's like bro

[3:56]you know what i don't know what happened to me today but

[3:58]these discussions concerning the grave discussions of the day of judgment these

[4:04]discussions are making me think twice about just how big i really

[4:09]think i am and that secondly if i was to die tomorrow

[4:14]will i be affected by the day of judgment positively or negatively

[4:19]because you know sometimes teachers what they would do they give you

[4:23]surprise tests i used to hate surprise tests because i know that

[4:26]i'm the type of guy who needs for you to tell me

[4:29]that next week is the exam if you tell me next week

[4:34]even though i'll probably still procrastinate i will turn up on that

[4:37]day but if you do a surprise test the teacher catches you

[4:41]out and the reality about sword like is it's telling you that

[4:45]some of the things that you think are more most important in

[4:48]this world try and realize that the most important things in this

[4:53]world are that you've prepared for that particular day you may prepare

[4:57]for every exam in this world you may get a stars a's

[5:01]two ones first structures but that day is the real exam and

[5:06]that's the day where some people are gonna be in no man's

[5:09]land so let's look tonight my dear and sisters that sort of

[5:13]that was not accidental because the word means a pounding noise now

[5:19]me and said whatever i'd actually planned that although i don't understand

[5:24]what's still alive because menhal what's the meaning of alcaria what just

[7:01]someone when they're using a whip they want a noise that actually

[7:09]disturbs they want something that leaves shivers and so the idea the

[7:12]arabs would sometimes have when you'd hear them say albab the idea

[7:18]that two things have smashed into each other he's like push the

[7:22]door that's not a normal push i come back to the metaphor

[7:24]of school the difference between when your teacher is in a good

[7:27]mood and when he smash slams the door in class enough when

[7:31]you hear that slam everyone's like he's not in a good mood

[7:36]today and the idea therefore of al-qaeda is that there is this

[7:40]great noise the pounding noise sometimes i see the translations into english

[7:45]do not do justice because if i am someone who has rejected

[7:50]the lord and rejected the prophets of god or even forget these

[7:54]things i'd be the evil human being i'm not looking forward to

[7:59]that day pedophiles don't look forward to that day rapists don't look

[8:02]forward to that day they may get away with their disasters and

[8:07]their evils in this world but i'll tell you what on that

[8:11]day they're not looking forward to it many of them might not

[8:13]even think about it many of them may deny it then you've

[8:15]got the other side who are like i found christ in prison

[8:18]because they realize that that day the moment i'm told get up

[8:21]there's going to be a noise accompanying it so allah wa ta'ala

[8:25]now gives us another angle to that yom sometimes you hear yo

[8:30]it's a day we're going to be counting it's accountability this time

[8:35]no that noise on that day you're not going to be able

[8:38]to take it however loud the noise you think you just heard

[8:55]noise that's going to be made on that day now someone says

[11:27]which is scattered which is going in absolute every direction you're going

[11:39]being revealed to you is only a few minutes away you could

[11:43]have been someone who in dunya conned everybody used to say don't

[11:49]be a friend of allah in public and an enemy of allah

[11:53]in private you could be someone who could have conned everyone but

[11:57]now on that day deep down you know very well that this

[12:00]is a day in which everything's about to be revealed but you're

[12:03]also now baffled because now you're scattered you're scattered in different places

[12:09]in this london or america or canada or the states wherever i'm

[12:14]living i always know the directions of where i'm heading when yom

[12:17]happens are you used to that highway you've been on that motorway

[12:23]you've been down those ends when you haven't been down those ends

[12:25]what begins to happen to you you begin to get baffled where

[12:30]to walk and now what also begins to happen to you is

[12:32]you become like those animals that you used to look down on

[12:35]now what are you you can't even find your direction on this

[12:41]day allah in the quran does this often he compares us to

[12:44]certain small animals on the day of judgement look in surah 54

[12:48]surah 54 my dear brothers and sisters verse number seven allah subhanahu

[12:55]wa ta'ala humbles the arabs the arabs who used to look down

[12:58]at these animals like the locust or the spider or the moth

[13:03]how many times in the quran does allah or give us certain

[13:07]i as in the holy quran which are named after this so

[13:11]when you look at surah 54 verse number 7 what does allah

[13:15]says allah tries to tell us in that particular surah that you'll

[13:21]see these people when the quran says their eyes are what cast

[13:31]down when their eyes are cast down if you look at the

[13:37]ayah before it though what leads to their eyes being cast down

[13:41]is what hoshan and what we are coming out of our graves

[13:59]the eyes are cast down.

[14:07]they come out from their graves as if they're scattered low costs

[14:11]used to look at it over here you're like look at that

[14:16]something very small running around that's you possibly on the day of

[14:20]judgment because on that day it doesn't matter how powerful or big

[14:26]or mighty you are do you know what we can do on

[14:31]that day everything that you saw as big will make small everything

[14:34]you saw as small what we're gonna do we're gonna make big

[14:39]why because even the biggest mountain that you looked at look what

[15:00]can you imagine can you imagine that you've got these jibal imagine

[15:08]the largest mountain the highest peak you could ever think of and

[15:11]then allah is saying even that we're going to make small someone

[15:15]says why is it even if you look at one of the

[15:33]discussions on the origin of the word sufi or tasawaf you know

[15:39]in the muslim world there is a certain spiritual path that some

[15:45]muslims take and they call it the sufi path the path of

[15:48]so you may have some muslims who belong to the shia school

[15:52]but they subscribe to a particular path afterwards you may find muslims

[15:56]who are non-shia for example they say that we are sufi now

[16:02]maybe in their medha their school of law they might be shafer

[16:07]maybe in their school of for example theology they might be ashari

[16:12]but in spirituality they say we are a little off and it's

[16:17]a soul can have a number of meanings one may say that

[16:19]he is a sufi because they come from the idea of that

[16:24]which is safe i want to follow purity yes because i want

[16:29]to follow a path of pure spirituality and path which is safe

[16:34]sufi another meaning is once they used to wear wool on top

[16:39]of themselves even in the hot weather to try and highlight that

[16:42]we are not ah dunya that's even the sauce symbolizes our simplicity

[16:46]we're not buying the expensive clothing and so on we are the

[16:51]people of here when it says the idea here is that this

[17:07]is wall which has different colors because in jabal are different colors

[17:12]so when we're gonna now make them look like that wall it

[17:14]is a type of wool that is colorful that i wouldn't apply

[17:19]to surf i would apply to that the mountains which god has

[17:24]created have come in different colors now when they move from their

[17:27]colors to one of different colors that wool of different colors symbolizes

[17:33]the movement from mountain to wall so allah describes as if you

[17:39]look within the holy quran surah 35 verse number 27 highlights to

[17:44]us that there are mountains in this world that are of different

[17:48]colors someone might say say it now i thought all mountains are

[17:52]just like pure white but if you actually think about it mountains

[17:55]come in different shapes sizes and indeed colors according to the holy

[17:59]quran so in surah 35 verse number 27 of the holy quran

[18:02]you'll find that allah tells us what does he say he says

[18:12]have you not seen do you not see that's allah subhanahu wa

[18:19]ta'ala sends down water from the clouds so what have we done

[18:26]we bring forth there with fruits of various colors is there only

[18:30]fruits of various colors no women algebra telephones do you not see

[18:46]that allah sends down water from the clouds we bring forth there

[18:48]in fruits of various colors and in the mountains there are shrieks

[18:51]white and red of various rules and others intensely black these mountains

[19:00]of all their colors look what the quran says there are mountains

[19:03]which are white mountains which are red mountains which are black and

[19:10]these mountains will all become loosened like wall but wall of different

[19:15]colors now you imagine that day there's noise everywhere there's a sound

[19:20]which is thumping i don't even have my family around me on

[19:23]that day because on that day my family's not there for me

[19:27]to stand up for me i'm separated i'm scattered i don't know

[19:29]what's going on i don't know in minhail anymore i'm not mad

[19:33]i don't know any of the guys anymore i don't know because

[19:36]now i'm scattered and i look around me and i see that

[19:39]what used to be the biggest is now the smallest i ask

[19:43]you in this world you think of kilimanjaro and you think of

[19:48]everest and k2 and you think of all of these mountains and

[19:55]if i was to show you some weighing scales in this world

[20:01]which one brings you more ore the mountains or the scales of

[20:09]mizan that a person weighs for example in a supermarket in your

[20:12]local area which one brings more ore the mountains true if someone

[20:17]brings you a mizan in front of you i'm gonna weigh for

[20:20]example how much i don't know tahini you want to automata or

[20:23]god knows what you want whatever you want or is it the

[20:28]mountains that bring you more or hey allah juxtaposes this [Music] look

[20:54]at the comparison which in this world used to be the biggest

[20:57]are now nothing now what is it that's going to be more

[21:01]important in terms of weight in terms of gravity is your miz

[21:07]you know now allah is telling you that you know with all

[21:11]these things happening it's all about something now it's about your mawazin

[21:14]mawazino normally when people say the scales of the day of judgment

[21:35]the measure of good deeds they normally talk about scale mizan they

[21:40]say that day inshallah mizan is in is in a good position

[21:44]allah says who told you there's only one mison for every act

[21:53]there are scales for every act this is the mizan is telling

[22:03]us every act you perform we're gonna weigh it how do we

[22:09]weigh it firstly your knee behind the act and then this world

[22:15]how do you weigh it kilogram ounces pounds and she says no

[22:17]no forget all of these now we come to seven years worth

[24:16]allah on the day of judgment ahu the prophet and his family

[25:29]have a ruling between the kaaba and makhan ibrahim we have to

[25:32]be when we're doing tawaf if between the kaaba and maqaam ibrahim

[27:21]me i'll forgive you if me and you had the dispute right

[28:22]you're going to be weighed against my salah someone might say but

[28:28]well i'm you're never going to be like him but if that's

[28:40]your goal if you reach halfway you've done well for me in

[28:53]arabic he the translation says he shall live a pleasant life and

[29:11]blessings aisha is one which is full of blessings there won't be

[29:19]no difficulties how many times do you hear allah hardly do you

[29:27]hear you might hear some people swap the words but what we

[29:32]tend to find is when a person mentions or when the quran

[29:36]talks can be mentioned full of difficulties and full of blessings is

[29:46]this idea that you're going to be living alive if your mizan

[29:50]has got a weight of heavy good okay you guys can run

[29:59]around you've heard a big noise your mizan is heavy with good

[30:03]deeds what does it represent represents justice do you agree then in

[30:09]this world if i've been just then what what what is there

[30:13]for allah not to reward me if i've been just and the

[30:31]of tafsir of the holy quran my dear brothers and sisters i'm

[31:06]there's a problem surah 18 verse 105 of the holy quran allah

[31:14]subhanahu wa ta'ala shows us that there is no scales for kuffar

[31:22]surah 18 verse 105.

[31:30]well there's a problem it says those who disbelieve in the communications

[31:56]of their lord and his meeting their deeds become null and therefore

[32:02]if your dudes are null is there a need for a mizan

[32:03]what mizan can measure something which is null no so therefore enough

[32:13]is it necessarily referring to kuffar or is it maybe referring to

[32:19]certain people who believed in the lord but their weren't amal always

[32:25]was the best near let's see how many people they have so

[32:35]why are you going to the measures normally you would go to

[32:38]a metrolis because you want to benefit and get closer to allah

[32:54]i believe in god i believe in the day of judgment i

[32:57]believe in rasulallah i even have muhammad allah well i'm going to

[34:43]likewise you won't know how low you'll be in that hell narun

[34:47]a burning fire a fire not just hot this is burning it

[34:54]goes to show us that in life never take it for granted

[34:58]that just because you have a particular identity that means automatically jannah

[35:01]awaits you it's not that hell means you're going to be in

[35:07]hell forever but you cannot complain on that day when your mizan

[35:11]or mawazine are put in front of you you can't complain when

[35:16]allah shows you that listen these mawazin that you have unfortunately they're

[35:22]very light there aren't many good deeds and the deeds that should

[35:25]have been good your niya was not safiya you may have to

[35:28]go through a period of purification now i don't want to see

[35:33]that period by the way and nor do any of the viewers

[35:34]but the reality is a muslim should never reach a stage where

[35:38]they think where the muslim we're the ones no the one who

[35:45]has the lowering of the is different from and you know and

[35:51]is there there is still the weight but the weight is low

[35:57]that weight which is low that weight which is not very high

[36:00]that weight which is not very great may mean that your shelter

[36:04]at the beginning will have to be hellfire we'll continue shortly my
