[0:09][Music] ald [Music] Muhammad [Music] a [Music] [Music] the words of Amir
[2:02]if they are studied from different perspectives we see the great blessing
[2:11]that Allah subhah wa ta'ala bestowed upon Humanity through that's why the
[2:26]loss of Imam is a loss for Humanity at Large tonight if
[2:31]Allah gives us we'll take a look at the theme of poverty
[2:41]in relationship to the Quran when we speak about poverty most people
[2:49]think of financial poverty people who are living in poor conditions for
[2:53]example they don't have much money they are need of support that
[3:00]is true however IM gives different definitions of poverty we will go
[3:09]over some of them inshallah if Allah gives us tonight the Ayah
[3:13]says inak 268 promises you poverty and he orders you to do
[3:30]evil Acts Allah subh promises you forgiveness and more although this Ayah
[3:43]comes when we take a look at the series of ayat it
[3:47]comes at that concept of in spending giving so Allah subhana wa
[3:56]taala According to some mu they say that when thean is promising
[4:00]you poverty Shan is telling you don't spend money you have $100
[4:06]if you give 20% you're left with $80 if you pay yours
[4:13]for example you're left with $20 you're left with $80 that's less
[4:18]than the 100 Allah subhah wa ta'ala says don't look at it
[4:23]this way in another Ayah which is close to this Ayah in
[4:27]terms of the numbers those who spend in the way of Allah
[4:44]their spending is like one grain this gives rise to seven and
[4:57]this seven gives rise to 100 and Allah gives rise to even
[5:00]more gives more to whomever he Wills Allah can multiply that $20
[5:05]many many FS for you and gives it back to you so
[5:10]don't calculate things in this way we do have also in the
[5:15]rat that when a person makes a pledge commitment know especially during
[5:20]fundraisings fundraising times people sometimes go become enthusiastic they say okay I'll
[5:24]donate $1,000 okay I make a pledge then they go home they
[5:31]open the mail bills bills and bills these days we only get
[5:37]bills in the mail you know you hardly get anything else on
[5:39]the in the mail so you open oh this is my you
[5:44]know my my bill it's been really cold this last month my
[5:51]my utilities bill has doubled okay next bill oh my my son's
[5:54]tuition fee okay this is also mashallah he's taken five courses this
[5:58]semester all okay so then you call you say you know that
[6:02]that $1,000 I'll make it $100 you know make it $100 okay
[6:08]Shan tries to make you think about bills tuition problems etc etc
[6:16]so that you don't pay the $11,000 that's why in theat it
[6:21]said once you make a pledge you make a ni to donate
[6:23]then do it right away right away do it so that Shan
[6:28]does not have time to dissuade you from it so although the
[6:31]Ayah is talking in the context of spending money but if you
[6:37]take a look at the global context promises you poverty poverty in
[6:45]everything not just in financial poverty so what other poverties are there
[6:53]let's take a look at so that we can develop some understanding
[6:58]he speaks of poverty in knowledge in for example he says there
[7:11]is no wealth better than wisdom knowledge if you have some nice
[7:16]knowledge good knowledge that's true wealth no poverty like ignorance that's a
[7:27]form of poverty which is lacking knowledge not knowing what to do
[7:33]when someone does not have knowledge starts giving opinions then you can
[7:39]see what problems can arise know a person sits down here and
[7:43]for example says I my stomach is not feeling well these days
[7:46]mallah everyone becomes a doctor you know try uh hot water you
[7:52]know when you break your at thear hot water it's really good
[7:55]you know so should I add tea into it other person says
[7:59]yeah you can add tea to it it's no problem hot water
[8:01]with tea just the teas are just a flavor third person says
[8:05]no add also a mint in it as well mint put mint
[8:09]and and the four says no all that did not work for
[8:11]me the Other M everyone becomes a doctor you know all everyone
[8:15]when it comes to religion everyone is a everybody is a you
[8:24]know this is this is yes why not should we doid on
[8:30]Wes day yeah everybody is doing so why not let's do whether
[8:33]we see the moon we don't see the moon that country in
[8:39]that particular region it declared three days earlier it said that so
[8:44]and so is we all doid this food you know it's Halal
[8:48]everyone is eating now I have to check everyone we all eat
[8:54]together but that's a problem you know if you don't know about
[8:59]something say I don't half of knowledge is to say I don't
[9:11]know it is said one it is attributed to Big from about
[9:18]150 years ago 150 years ago he became the of his days
[9:22]every on that day was doing so a group of people come
[9:33]from he was in and today if you go to the of
[9:35]if you enter from the B called B look to the left
[9:41]you'll see his is there you see his picture and the is
[9:45]there so a group from Iran came his they do of him
[9:52]they asked him a question he paused for a few seconds he
[9:56]raised his head he said I don't know the answer to this
[10:00]particular question I don't know okay so then continued he answers a
[10:03]few more then they asked another question he looked at them he
[10:06]said that one I don't know few more questions he answers and
[10:09]then some he said I don't know so then like you know
[10:13]maybe three times four times five times out of all the questions
[10:16]that they had said I don't know because when they came they
[10:21]came with a list of questions you know we're not talking about
[10:24]telephones on those days or things so they went around their whole
[10:27]town they said we're going to Naf who has question so everybody
[10:32]starts and they come with maybe 200 questions for example so he
[10:35]answers out in total maybe 10 questions give or take he did
[10:40]not answer he said I don't know so they said then what
[10:41]shall we say to these people the says I don't know you
[10:46]know what will they say they say Ansari does not know he
[10:49]said tell them tell them anari knows enough to become the is
[11:00]not IM to know all the answers what does not know is
[11:04]far more than what he knows go tell the sh this you
[11:08]this is out of his humility this is it's not easy for
[11:12]to say I don't know you know but he does it he
[11:17]says it says I don't know he doesn't give fwa he doesn't
[11:23]he's not sure and you have everybody giving fatwa that's why the
[11:26]IM refers to the time of the second the second I read
[11:32]to you the other day the third sermon of people started getting
[11:45]in confusion they have no clue what's going on about religion one
[11:47]day he gets up one day he gets up and he says
[11:54]to the people if I hear anyone of the women taking a
[11:59]doy more than the of the of the Prophet s Al if
[12:06]I hear any of that I will take it away from her
[12:10]so a lady gets up a lady gets up from the in
[12:11]the Masjid in the crowd she gets up and she said this
[12:14]is not up to you it's not you who are you to
[12:18]tell me that you're going to take our Dar away because Allah
[12:21]subhah wa ta'ala says ay 20 if you give any one of
[12:36]them any money you cannot take it back this is her do
[12:39]her how dare you to take this if Allah says you cannot
[12:45]take it you come and take it he looked at her and
[12:49]he said she's right said he said all people are more knowledgeable
[13:02]than me this is the second Khalifa speaking even the wom in
[13:08]their homes and the women who are Housewives who don't interact much
[13:14]with men and so on so forth he's saying even they know
[13:16]more than me so it became a trend you know a trend
[13:20]you know these days you have a trend on Tik Tok or
[13:25]something you know this became a trend so for example he said
[13:36]says even everyone knows better than Omar so how did he become
[13:43]the Khalifa imagine this is the khif of the Muslims and therefore
[13:45]this this is one of the problems one of the issues one
[13:52]of the issues and hence IMI says people got really confused during
[13:57]his time about the of Allah subahu waala so one kind of
[14:03]poverty someone who does not have much knowledge he's he has poverty
[14:10]that's one two sometimes it is not knowledge sometimes people have knowledge
[14:16]but Subhan they lack awareness they lack why you know to be
[14:22]awakened I have come across somebody with a PhD someone with a
[14:28]PhD and he also does research and publishes it might be safe
[14:34]to say that this person really does is not a very intelligent
[14:37]person it might be safe to say this you know you'll be
[14:41]surprised you when I sit down and have a conversation with him
[14:45]you think like which world does this guy live in you know
[14:48]does he not read the newspapers does he not talk let me
[14:52]tell you another example easier for you to understand these last American
[14:57]elections the last one when when Biden became the president Trump and
[15:02]Biden right they say 75 million Americans voted for Trump 75 Millions
[15:12]Americans voted for Trump this is after four years in office and
[15:14]then you saw what they did after Biden took office you know
[15:20]the whole attack on the White House you saw that what do
[15:23]you call those people those 75 million people all of them uneducated
[15:27]no all of them don't have degrees all of them carry rifles
[15:33]and walk on the streets some people you know this guy who
[15:37]I told you last night spends $110 million engulfing so if anyone
[15:43]sits there and thinks for himself like he's a billionaire why is
[15:45]he taking our tax money and spending it on his gulfing and
[15:48]then they go and vote for him again this some this is
[15:55]a kind of poverty IM says he says the worst kind of
[16:03]poverty is someone to be an idiot lacking awareness does not have
[16:11]a clue about this world yes you may have someone with a
[16:14]PhD he knows this field Kal this is it this is how
[16:18]he sees speak to him a little bit outside this field that
[16:20]has no clue what's going on I would sit down with this
[16:25]individual with a PhD and I would talk to him for example
[16:27]about Iraq would talk to him something you know he has no
[16:31]clue it's as if this is like a different world I'm speaking
[16:33]of not a country that you know people talk about and there's
[16:39]been Wars and invasions and no clue you be like which world
[16:43]does he come in come from he's a PhD this is a
[16:49]kind of this example one day a man came to uh Jaan
[16:54]the cousin of Al mans Abbasi mans Abbasi when he became the
[16:57]Khalifa mans is the one who ordered the killing of Im so
[17:03]doing the abas his cousin became the governor of U Medina and
[17:06]meca for some time and then he became the governor of Bas
[17:11]so a man comes to him he says says my neighbor is
[17:25]a he hates he's also contradiction as a group of Muslims they
[17:35]were deviants you know but contract complete opposite to the who are
[17:42]the people of it's not time for us to discuss about all
[17:45]this okay so he says he said to him why he got
[17:54]surprised at this you know all contradiction why do you say this
[18:01]he says he says he swears he he he insults Al who
[18:18]who destroyed the over he sat down looking at him like this
[18:28]he said he says says I don't know should I envy you
[18:36]on what you know I feel should I be jealous of you
[18:41]because of your deep knowledge about the theology the different theologies of
[18:49]the people you know you tell me complete contradiction you're either a
[18:55]or you're a you can't be the two at the same time
[19:01]where what are you talking about and then he says I don't
[19:11]know what to what he says go Allah but such people you
[19:15]know sometimes in history they come up and until this day and
[19:20]age until this day and age and you're laughing here I was
[19:23]reading the other day about dangerous Tick Tock challenges you know some
[19:32]individuals come on Tik Tok and they pose a challenge they say
[19:35]like let's do this Challenge and people imitate and people end up
[19:40]in hospital some of them get die some of them end up
[19:44]with the police the other day Ontario Police just last year in
[19:47]2023 in November I believe they issued a warning about a new
[19:54]challenge that you go to somebody's door you ring the bell and
[19:57]you kick the door three times as hard as you can and
[20:01]run away so Ontario Police issued now a warning they said please
[20:04]parents educate your children about this trend this is dangerous they can
[20:10]get into trouble if they do this this is trespassing on people's
[20:16]property they can end up in jail you know but people follow
[20:18]follow follow this kind of Trends so where where's the this is
[20:25]kind of poverty kind of poverty that's why it's important brothers and
[20:29]sisters it's important for us to sit down with our children as
[20:32]I was mentioning last night I know I'm I sound like a
[20:36]broken record now but it's important to sit down with our children
[20:39]regularly talk to them educate them I'll tell you for example why
[20:44]is it to sit down with is it's a form of why
[20:52]because the alims what do they talk about sports car or fashion
[20:58]or they talk about in the Quran second the when he talks
[21:04]he just smiles and talks like this you know no he's talking
[21:06]with dignity with respect so the more you sit down with the
[21:10]inevitably subconsciously what are you going to be absorbing some useful knowledge
[21:15]the way he sits the way he talks when someone walks into
[21:20]the mag for example what does the do how does he for
[21:22]example greet this individual does he stand up does he sit down
[21:27]when he stand up who does he stand up for who does
[21:29]all this is knowledge all this is this is this must have
[21:37]read heard seen and so and that's why we read in Du
[21:51]maybe you didn't you you did not see me sitting with the
[21:56]sitting down with the so you let me down Ya Allah I
[22:01]became a failure is when you have success for for worship obeying
[22:09]Allah is the opposite see how important it is this is why
[22:14]we should sit down with our children if you remember if you
[22:16]remember those of you who are a bit older in your maybe
[22:20]60s 50s 60s and all of you young older I said not
[22:26]doesn't mean you're old older a friend of mine he says I
[22:35]went to the ha back in the 80s in the 80s early
[22:39]' 80s said I went to Hajj this friend of mine is
[22:44]from Iran he says as I was doing ta I saw next
[22:46]to me a very old man from Iran doing ta very old
[22:53]but he's doing ta he's walking said I looked at him old
[22:58]man so I told told him you know out of respect he
[23:03]said father P you know out of respect you know father why
[23:07]you doing the TA walking you know you can back in those
[23:12]days if you remember they used to carry you you know those
[23:14]people used to put you on this kind of something and then
[23:18]they would carry you if you remember that so he said they
[23:20]can carry you and that that's enough this friend of mine is
[23:25]a sheh he says it it suffices for you they can do
[23:28]the TA they take you around he said he looked at me
[23:35]like this said son he said do you know how old I
[23:41]am he said no he said I am 114 years old this
[23:46]is my 99th ha I've been coming to Hajj since I've been
[23:51]15 15 says this is my 99th ha and if Allah gives
[23:56]me life next year I will come back for myund he says
[24:03]all my hes I do all the on my own the I
[24:09]I walk the I go he says what are you talking about
[24:13]sitting then on this whatever you so what I'm trying to say
[24:18]if you are under 114 you're still youth alhamdulillah you're still shabab
[24:22]and you have health masallah so so but if those of you
[24:26]who are 50s 60s if you remember if you remember the parents
[24:29]when they used to take you your father your fathers your mothers
[24:33]used to take you for Gatherings and they used to sit down
[24:39]tell you sit down next to me you sit down and you
[24:40]would see your mother your father how they talk with the other
[24:46]people for example when someone comes in your father would tell you
[24:50]stand up and go say Salam alaykum to him so you go
[24:54]sayam if your Salam is not good your father would tell would
[24:56]teach you this is not the way you do Salam you know
[25:00]this is how you do Salam do you remember these things okay
[25:02]slowly you learned you learned all you're absorbing everything so then you
[25:07]learn how to sit down I've been to countries where you find
[25:13]like a 10-year-old 10-year-old in the shop selling no one is supervising
[25:19]him mashallah 10y old you know they so in this country they
[25:22]call it child labor but this 10 year old mashallah you want
[25:25]to buy something you say like you know how much is this
[25:28]he says this is for example this is like for example $5
[25:32]but if you want this one I have this one for $6
[25:33]this is much better quality see he's 10 year old masallah he
[25:38]will sell you the whole St he'll sell you your own clothes
[25:40]you know he knows how did he learn all this where did
[25:46]he look at our 10year olds mallah you saw yesterday you know
[25:49]on their games and whatever in their own world this is what
[25:54]but where do they learn it when we sit down with our
[25:58]children we teach them we educate we bring them to the husse
[26:02]we sit next to them in the husse and we educate them
[26:05]we teach them this is how they're learn so this is a
[26:07]second kind of poverty the poverty of lack of awareness third the
[26:16]Third Kind of poverty that IM refers to is a poverty in
[26:23]terms of security and political protection for example he says you are
[26:41]not a pillar that one can lean against you're not someone I
[26:48]can reliably trust and lean against you nor are you people who
[26:52]are worthy of being trusted I cannot trust you people he says
[26:59]in another he says you are the likes of men but you're
[27:04]not men you don't act like men you have filled my heart
[27:10]with wounds you know you're pain it's painful being your leader says
[27:18]there is no there is no command ship for someone who's not
[27:25]obeyed it says I I picked up the sword I was under
[27:30]20 when I picked up the sword and here I am over
[27:35]60 and I'm still fighting and now people are accusing me of
[27:41]not knowing about wars he says I don't know about wars what
[27:45]he's trying to say I was born with a sword in my
[27:50]hand fighting next to that's what he's trying to say the battles
[27:53]of bad and and who brought the victory to the Muslim I
[27:59]was the one the tactics I know tactics of War you know
[28:02]but you guys don't listen to me and what am I going
[28:06]to do if you don't listen and I give this example to
[28:10]the Muslims to the people you put the two strongest people in
[28:13]the world together but when the people disobey what happened in Muslims
[28:21]lost Allah teaches the Muslims yes both of them could have defeated
[28:26]the whole Army but using their and from a worldly perspective no
[28:35]the worldly matters no the Army ran away those were the bigger
[28:40]crowd they won the battle but this is what the IM is
[28:45]saying you guys are not worth you you have poverty you're impoverished
[28:49]for security there is no security with you so this is a
[28:51]kind of of poverty look at the way the Muslims are living
[28:56]today they're impoverished for security they don't have any Security today small
[29:03]group of people can dominate the entire region and manipulate the whole
[29:09]region and monopol the whole region you know that's what happens so
[29:14]that's a third the fourth kind of or poverty the IM refers
[29:18]to is the poverty of the that's another kind of poverty he
[29:27]says the worst kind of poverty is the poverty of the nafs
[29:36]what he refers to is the you have some people who are
[29:41]very successful but when it comes to manners they have absolutely no
[29:45]manners when I say successful maybe financially successful that person who became
[29:50]the president of the country who's now going to become the president
[29:55]again financially he's a billionaire powerwise he became the president of the
[30:04]US Fame he famous and known but what about his have you
[30:12]seen him how he talks and how he interacts with people how
[30:16]he humiliates people if he has the the ab ability he would
[30:22]come out and say I am your God and Kal worship me
[30:29]but who cares who cares about this it's so akl is extremely
[30:38]important you may have someone who's poor but very humble very kind
[30:45]rich but very humble very kind you may have someone who's poor
[30:49]but very arrogant the other way around it works this way is
[30:57]extremely important manners do you remember the 10 things I advised you
[31:02]on the the second thing was do you remember manners after I
[31:06]said the manners pray for good good interestingly they showed there is
[31:17]this uh researcher she did research from 40 major corporations in the
[31:23]world she asked the CEOs of those 140 big corporations she asked
[31:27]them about the characteristics of a leader that would make a good
[31:31]leader interestingly the number one response that came was empathy you know
[31:40]what's empathy empathy is putting yourself in someone else's shoes as a
[31:44]leader if you put yourself in someone else's shoes then you would
[31:51]try to see things from their perspective so you'll be nice you
[31:55]know basically it's being nice being nice is a great attribute of
[32:00]a leader and it makes Common Sense anyone of you who has
[32:02]ever worked for a nasty boss you hate your job every morning
[32:08]you go to the work and you say I wish I can
[32:12]quit Okay the whole environment is toxic but if the boss is
[32:14]nice you would love your work you go there your well-being you
[32:17]would like to give it 200% why because he's nice so that's
[32:24]an important attribute this man was with IMI don't confuse him with
[32:38]different one he was with IM Ali in the Battle of he
[32:44]flipped and joined mua he disappeared and he disappeared he they woke
[32:48]up in the morning he's gone they didn't know what happened to
[32:52]him so some people thought he got killed in the battle he
[32:55]disappeared when they went back to kuf after the battle his wife
[33:01]said where is my husband they told her he got killed he
[33:04]was killed in the battle so she did not go and ask
[33:11]IM Ali she did the and then she went and remarried after
[33:16]some time he comes back to kufa at night he comes home
[33:19]he knocks on his door no one is home comes in the
[33:25]middle of the night he goes asks people here and there where
[33:28]is this lady so on so forth they told her she got
[33:32]married her husband died and so she got married so he goes
[33:36]where who did she get married to so and so he goes
[33:40]and knocks on the door she opens the door she finds her
[33:41]husband in front of her he tells her you're my wife let's
[33:50]go home she says what wife what home I'm married someone else
[33:53]now so he sat down he's like you know who can solve
[33:59]this problem for me now who can solve it only one person
[34:06]can so the next morning he goes to looks at him tells
[34:16]him why did you do what you IM Ali knows Ali knows
[34:21]what happened tells him how could you leave us and go to
[34:23]mua and all this now he had prepared a nice response he
[34:28]said okay I did what I did will this deprive okay I
[34:38]did what I did but will this deprive me from your Justice
[34:41]he knows who he's coming to he knows you know he says
[34:46]no this is not going to deprive you of my Justice IM
[34:49]which leader would do this today today in today's world this would
[34:55]be called treason treason and many countries developed countries in the world
[35:01]they would kill him that he would be killed in today's world
[35:03]IM looks at him and says no this is not going to
[35:07]deprive him of my of of my just and he gives him
[35:11]the H he gives him the H he goes and fulfills the
[35:15]H she never asked IMI she never investigated she did she acted
[35:19]on her own so the IM solved the problem for him but
[35:24]this is the wealth of of and Subhan Allah his sh his
[35:32]companions were just the same I told you about the story of
[35:34]Malik if you remember Malik when someone hit him with a pebble
[35:42]how how same he's with IM Ali he's gained his the of
[35:44]IM this is the we need to aim for this is the
[35:50]kind of manners next the last one that I will discuss here
[35:55]for the sake of time is this so all this poverty we
[36:00]talked about poverty of knowledge Poverty of awareness and education the Third
[36:06]Kind of poverty we talked about the poverty of security and political
[36:09]poverty fourth one we said about the the fifth one is financial
[36:14]poverty indeed indeed Financial poverty is there let me tell you something
[36:24]in 2006 a professor from bangaladesh by the name of Dr Muhammad
[36:29]yunus won the Nobel Prize for Peace he had established a bank
[36:38]that would give micro credits to poor people and without complicated micro
[36:42]micro $100 200 300 he says the maximum we would give is
[36:47]$300 loan we would give it to the people on a handshake
[36:51]he said most of these people can't even read and write so
[36:53]you don't give them like long loan applications and all this they
[36:57]would come to me for example so he started propagating this idea
[37:03]someone comes for example a widow a widow she's living in impoverished
[37:07]conditions she would come to him he would say okay what would
[37:09]you like to learn let's say for example she says I would
[37:14]like to learn sewing say okay how much will it cost for
[37:16]you to learn sewing maybe let's say for example $50 says okay
[37:21]we'll give you $50 as a loan you go learn sewing once
[37:24]you learn you come back so she goes she learns sewing she
[37:28]comes back say okay I learned sewing he says okay now we
[37:30]will buy you a sewing machine how much for example let's say
[37:33]$100 okay we we'll buy you a $100 sewing machine so now
[37:39]she starts sewing for people so now she's learned a a profession
[37:43]and she's working so she becomes independent and slowly when she starts
[37:48]making money she starts paying back she said he says most of
[37:54]these people pay back most of them this is the whole concept
[37:56]of micr credit and he says on a handshake he says those
[38:01]people don't know how to read or write she tells me 150
[38:04]for example take it okay someone comes he says I need a
[38:09]motorbike and I will deliver things with it says okay how much
[38:11]a motorbike cost for example let say $300 okay we'll buy you
[38:13]$300 on a handshake he goes and he starts delivering making money
[38:19]and he starts paying back he says most of those people pay
[38:21]us back most of them they appreciate the value that we give
[38:26]them independent so he won the Nobel Prize for Peace for this
[38:30]idea in 2006 Dr Muhammad yunas I read in one of his
[38:33]books he says the following he says the reason there is poverty
[38:41]in the world today is not because there is lack of resources
[38:45]he says the reason that there is poverty in the world today
[38:50]is because of the lack of the distribution the distribution of these
[38:54]resources and then he gives this Statistics he says 94% of the
[39:08]world's wealth is in the hands of 40% of the world's population
[39:15]I repeat 94% of the world's wealth is in the hands of
[39:22]40% of the world's population the remaining 60% has to share the
[39:28]% he says that's why there's poverty in the world today just
[39:31]to give you an analogy so that you can see the picture
[39:36]you have 100 people in a room and you have a cake
[39:37]with 100 slices logic says each one gets how many slices one
[39:44]slice correct 100 100 that's what logic dictates what it happens in
[39:51]the reality of the world you take 40 people you say you
[39:53]step aside 60 people on this way 94 slices you give it
[39:59]to the 40 people how many slices are left six you tell
[40:03]the 60 people here there go you share it what's going to
[40:05]happen Wars are going to happen battles are going to happen fighting
[40:10]is going to happen poverty is going to happen you he says
[40:13]that's the problem this is a professor Noble laat and he's written
[40:19]many books IM Ali gave that in a one line 1400 years
[40:26]ago listen to what IM says those of you who understand Arabic
[40:50]you saw the one n I'll translate it for you Allah subhanahu
[40:55]wa taala that's what he's saying surely Allah forever obligated in the
[41:02]money of the rich the sustenance of the poor Allah subhana wa
[41:09]tala differentiated yes he did not give equally he did not give
[41:14]equally but he gave enough if he had not given enough he
[41:17]would not have been Fair that's not fair but Allah tests people
[41:21]he tests the rich to see will he give and he test
[41:25]the poor to test if he's going to be patient so it's
[41:28]set test for people so he says Allah mandated obligated the wealth
[41:37]of the poor in the money of the rich so he says
[41:40]no poor person goes hungry except with what a rich man has
[41:48]deprived yeah in theory in theory if every person in the world
[41:55]today pays and pays zakat in theory there would not be a
[42:00]single poor person in the world today and then IMI says Allah
[42:06]will ask them about this on the day of judgment on the
[42:10]day of Jud he's going to ask them I gave you all
[42:11]this money I remember once brothers and sisters there is a very
[42:17]famous basketball player if I say his name most of these youth
[42:19]will be ah I know him you know very famous some of
[42:23]them may be having his picture in their in their bedrooms you
[42:26]know interestingly you walk into some of these youth bedrooms you see
[42:29]pictures of you know actors actresses uh Sports people you say like
[42:34]where is an a of the Quran do you have an Ayah
[42:37]in the Quran calligraphy for example picture of one of our for
[42:41]example put a what a picture of these this Sportsman very famous
[42:49]very famous he wanted to get married his wedding his wedding cost
[42:54]$50 million we're talking about a wedding of a very rich the
[42:58]last day I tomorrow is the wedding so all the guests are
[43:03]coming in everyone is in he calls the wedding off so he
[43:06]calls his friend he calls his friend and he tells him uh
[43:11]you know the wedding is off but you guys I'll give you
[43:13]my credit card go and have fun enjoy the party you know
[43:19]$50 million on a wedding how how how many people would have
[43:24]been you know fed with $50 million can you can you imagine
[43:29]just now in in in in a country I won't mention which
[43:32]country in in a particular country they say this person had the
[43:38]most luxurious wedding in the world inviting one very famous singer to
[43:42]the wedding to S to sing they say it is estimated it's
[43:50]estimated that her cost was about10 to 12 million just hair cost
[43:54]the wedding lasted for a whole month a whole mon month not
[44:00]one day a month of the wedding so you can imagine if
[44:03]just this person cost him $12 million how much did that whole
[44:09]thing cost and in that country there are millions of people who
[44:15]are impoverished that if you give $10 $5 to people it will
[44:19]feed them for a week maybe so imagine now you see why
[44:25]there are poor people in the world Dr Muhammad yunas is a
[44:27]professor and he's a noble orat he mention IM aliam mentioned it
[44:30]1400 years ago this is one of the reason why there is
[44:34]poverty in the world today one of the reason I'll leave you
[44:39]with this brothers and sisters one of the said we should be
[44:42]reading each and every one of us should be reading but read
[44:46]it from the lens of your profession if you're a psychologist read
[44:52]as a psychologist you're a doctor read as a doctor you're a
[44:58]financial adviser and someone who's in like finance and economics read it
[45:02]as an economist and so on he says you'll find wonders in
[45:06]I told some people when I did my PhD on the Theology
[45:11]of I said I wish there is someone who does the PHD
[45:16]on the letter of IM Ali to Malik that requires a PhD
[45:21]we still don't have one at least in the English Academia in
[45:24]the English Academia in Western Academia it does not exist this is
[45:28]what we need to invest time on not on so and so
[45:32]people sometimes you look at their their thesis they're writing about so
[45:35]and so X Y and Z and I'm like who is X
[45:38]Y and Z with all due respect okay whatever he's a philosopher
[45:41]what philosophy does he have when you compared to and this is
[45:48]the true knowledge so you see how IM gives us this beautiful
[45:57]description of poverty with such deep thinking we have been thinking about
[46:01]poverty as just Financial IM no expans and hence now we understand
[46:05]the a oh people you are in poverty and need of Allah
[46:12]we are all in poverty even if you're a billionaire you have
[46:16]some knowledge poverty even if you're whatever you have a knowledge you
[46:20]have money poverty and so on so forth we are all in
[46:22]need of Allah let's raise our hands inshallah in the Dua brothers
[46:27]and sisters in these last couple minutes before the Adan in this
[46:31]Holy Night of this holy month and we are in the final
[46:33]few nights may Allah subhana wa taala accept our Dua fulfill our
[46:39]haat and needs many people have requested us to remember them in
[46:43]our Dua may Allah inallah fulfill their needs cure those of them
[46:47]who are [Music] ill [Music] for Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah
[47:49]Allah Allah Allah [Music] Allah Allah [Music] for [Music] for Allah m
