[0:00][Music] Muhammed Muhammad when we look at the life of IM Alam

[0:30]during the days of the prophet's message in the holy city of

[0:37]Mecca the first days of Islam were were very difficult were very

[0:41]challenging the young Muslim Community faced so much uh persecution and discrimination

[0:46]uh the Prejudice that was uh you know waged against them was

[0:50]on a whole different level and and someone may ask why why

[0:53]was this so intense against the early Muslims against the prophet Muhammad

[0:59]s Al and his followers while there were practical considerations the early

[1:02]meccan Society um had an economy that was heavily reliant on uh

[1:12]polytheism and and what I mean by that was the trade in

[1:14]Mecca uh focused quite a bit on the uh essential essentially the

[1:20]P the pilgrims the tourists if you will that were coming to

[1:23]do pilgrimage at in Mecca now the pilgrimage that we're talking about

[1:27]here is not the pilgrimage that we see today but rather it

[1:31]was a pilgrimage of of polytheus so there were hundreds of Idols

[1:34]being hosted at the Caba and Arabs from across the region were

[1:42]coming um practicing their polytheistic faith and uh doing pilgrimage at the

[1:47]Caba so you had people coming from all over and The Chieftains

[1:50]of of of Mecca were relying on this pilgrimage now imagine Prophet

[1:57]Muhammad sahu alaih Al this charismatic magnanimous personality someone who was known

[2:05]as um the the honest the trustworthy right when we're looking at

[2:15]this person this honest trustworthy truthful human being who his reputation far

[2:22]uh uh you know exceeds any other reputation uh in this time

[2:29]of Arabia and he's coming forward and he's saying I have a

[2:33]new message I'm the leader of this new Faith um and follow

[2:36]me and this is the path to God one God not the

[2:41]many gods one God um it shook things up it challenged the

[2:46]status quo it shook things up and beyond that beyond the economic

[2:50]impact there was also a social impact which was it doesn't matter

[2:53]if you were black white uh red yellow it doesn't matter if

[2:58]you were born to a a lineage of nobility or you were

[3:00]Bor born into bondage and slavery um all men are equal in

[3:05]the eyes of God and the only thing that gives you status

[3:08]in the eyes of God is your piety your piety so this

[3:13]was shaking things up for meccan society and uh the people that

[3:18]were benefiting from the current system there weren't liking it so when

[3:23]we see the these days um the first you know decade of

[3:28]The Message of Islam being in Mecca we see a lot of

[3:34]challenges a lot of persecution um persecution that was experienced by um

[3:38]you know some of the early companions I'll give you a quick

[3:41]example one of the earliest Companions of prophet Muhammad s um he

[3:48]was caught one day uh by some of the pagans of Mecca

[3:50]um they ganged up on him they surrounded him and they started

[3:55]beating him so severely from head to toe they were beating him

[3:58]he turned black and blue um and what they wanted him to

[4:02]do was they wanted him to renounce his faith say say you

[4:04]don't believe in Muhammad say that you don't believe in Islam say

[4:07]that you don't believe in Allah just denounce and he wouldn't and

[4:11]he tried holding on holding on holding on without saying anything until

[4:17]finally gasping essentially for what could have been his last breaths he

[4:22]um he finally said I don't believe then they let him go

[4:26]uh imagine this the scene with me when they looking back at

[4:31]the this history this this young man he's an early companion he's

[4:33]coming he's in the faith he believes in God believes in the

[4:36]prophet Muhammad Al they just got beaten so badly they were about

[4:41]to kill him and finally he says I don't believe gasping for

[4:46]air they leave him he gathers the strength to go to the

[4:49]prophet Muhammad and um is found crying at his feet essentially and

[4:56]some of the people are you know witnessing they share the story

[5:00]with the prophet he's trying to share it becomes known that hey

[5:06]this is just what happened to to Amar he's crying it's it's

[5:09]an intense scene and the prophet asks Amar a question as he's

[5:16]embracing him as he's holding him consoling him say Amar has Faith

[5:23]left your heart and Amar says never never it has not the

[5:28]prophet essentially tells him did the right thing this was one of

[5:34]the earli shows if not the earliest show of uh Pi dissimilation

[5:37]which was an act um uh that was condoned by the prophet

[5:42]something that uh is practiced in Islam to protect one's life or

[5:49]the lives uh of uh the lives of others uh in a

[5:54]situation where uh you know someone who is you know oppressive tyrannical

[5:58]um wanting to harm uh a person just for their their identity

[6:02]in faith or a certain profession of Faith um this practice is

[6:07]essential to understand the climate that Islam uh came out of and

[6:15]also the how contextual Islam is to make sure that its followers

[6:20]understand if you are putting yourself In Harm's Way if you are

[6:24]going to be put on Harm's Way because of your faith keep

[6:28]your faith in your heart and protect yourself because the value of

[6:33]your life the sanctity of your life is at such a high

[6:38]level that Allah subh tala wants you to protect that life and

[6:41]keep you alive so that you do not die at the whim

[6:45]uh of a tyrant or an oppressor so this act of Pious

[6:48]dissimulation where you're concealing that part of faith in order to protect

[6:52]one's life or the the lives of others was something that we

[6:58]found in the earliest days of Islam um and it's important for

[7:01]us to to recognize here in narration that's attributed to the holy

[7:05]prophet where he says the sanctity of the believer right so think

[7:10]about this the human life that we're trying to protect the sanctity

[7:13]of the believer is greater than the sanctity of the Kaa itself

[7:18]so relate this back to a couple episodes ago a couple videos

[7:25]ago to the Kaa that Abdul was protecting and Allah protected through

[7:31]him through his prayers against the army of abraha right now look

[7:36]at everything that was that went into protecting the Kaa now the

[7:41]prophet is telling us the sanctity of the believer is even greater

[7:45]than the sanctity of the Kaa itself this shows us what when

[7:52]we're looking at the character and competence of Imam were being inspired

[7:59]to learn about how important human life is how important it is

[8:04]for you and I to respect each other respect ourselves honor each

[8:08]other and honor ourselves human life respect it honor it and don't

[8:17]transgress against it you and I are a trust from Allah tala

[8:22]and we need to treat it that way
