[3:06]be said about his creations each and every one of us wants

[3:09]to look as beautiful as is possible every human being at one

[3:16]stage or another in their life begins to consider possible surgeries that

[3:22]may enhance their beauty this is a reality that we see around

[3:26]the world i don't think the brothers and sisters would disagree with

[3:29]me that one stage or another in our lives we begin to

[3:33]think about whether there are any surgeries that we may undertake that

[3:38]may give us some of our youth back i miss my youth

[3:42]i want to go back to my youth some people of course

[3:48]they age wonderfully others not so and within the human being there

[3:53]is a certain amount of vanity that does exist without taking it

[3:58]on to a prohibited level there is a certain amount of ego

[4:01]that exists as well and naturally each and every one of us

[4:06]is happy when someone tells you you're shining you look beautiful we

[4:13]have come up of course with quotes to make sure that if

[4:15]we don't really look that good there are quotes that back us

[4:19]up for example we don't mind when someone says beauty is in

[4:23]the eye of the beholder we say okay no problem but for

[4:28]some reason that never applies to david beckham nor does that ever

[4:32]apply to brad pitt nor does that ever apply to cristiano ronaldo

[4:35]because there are many in the world who look at them and

[4:40]look at the exterior physique and want to be like them a

[4:44]person wants to have for example certain looks that they may have

[4:51]in the world of fashion but also physically people look at the

[4:54]jaw of a human people look at the cheeks of a human

[4:57]people look at the nose of a human people look at the

[4:58]hair of a human people look at the eyes of a human

[5:01]people look at other parts of the body of a fellow human

[5:04]being and you want that look and so in wanting that look

[5:10]you see that it's available now easily if you're someone who for

[5:16]example does not have lips which are too clear for everyone to

[5:24]see and you've always wanted them for example filled or plumped then

[5:30]you'll actually have surgeries which are available today where a person can

[5:34]have a particular filler even in their nose the person may see

[5:37]for example that the shape of their nose guys like us who

[5:41]played football from a young age we know very well that it's

[5:44]gone one way and the other three four five times there's been

[5:48]elbows all over our corner and that nose is just on one

[5:52]side than the other and so you ask yourself the question if

[5:55]it's available why don't i go for this surgery and so now

[6:00]we live in a society whether a person wants to look at

[6:06]these things negatively or not it depends on the context because it's

[6:09]easy for a person to say all i care about is the

[6:14]internal and that islam only wants to focus on your internal islam

[6:16]doesn't really want to focus on how you look externally but then

[6:20]why is it whenever we look at pictures attributed to some artists

[6:24]who claim that the imams looked like this although most of them

[6:28]when they draw them they virtually look all the same but there's

[6:31]this conception that this is beauty of course many of us when

[6:35]we go to karbala or najaf and we see these pictures we

[6:37]know that these aren't real and nor do many of us even

[6:40]keep them at home out of respect for our imams but there's

[6:43]this conception even of beauty when it comes to our imams that

[6:48]a person imagines the physical appearance of the imam so if religion

[6:52]has nothing to do about the physical appearance then why is it

[6:54]whenever they talk about imam ali al-islam there was a particular discussion

[6:57]of how he looked when they talk about rasulallah there's a discussion

[7:02]about how he looked i think also we cannot forget that there

[7:06]are certain people who are born or may face a particular challenge

[7:13]with their looks at one stage or another in their life you

[7:17]know when you read about cleft lip you find some people couldn't

[7:22]even smile you've seen children who sometimes there's a problem that they

[7:27]face where they may not smile like others there might be someone

[7:32]who even has a birthmark in the middle of their face for

[7:36]example there might be someone else who may have a particular problem

[7:39]in another part of their body which they don't want the whole

[7:42]world to necessarily find out about and so you think about it

[7:47]and you ask yourself the question that put aside those who are

[7:53]going towards the direction of purely cosmetic because they want to beautify

[7:58]themselves how about those who face a challenge with the way they

[8:01]look when it comes to for example the need for a corrective

[8:07]procedure for what one may call a defect or a particular aberration

[8:13]now on this note i recognize that we all have our different

[8:18]challenges and so when you do have a family member who has

[8:20]a particular defect or aberration or whatever the term is because with

[8:27]some of these terms you also don't want anyone to be hurt

[8:30]the reality is it's at that moment that you see somebody who

[8:34]who does have a particular physical problem but their heart is sometimes

[8:38]much better than the one who's good looking but extremely arrogant but

[8:43]whether you look at the most good-looking people in the world or

[8:49]not you still have it within yourself when you wake up in

[8:52]the morning to always try and look your best you recognize that

[8:56]your lord created you in the best of molds but you wouldn't

[9:01]mind for example having a surgery if my for example stomach is

[9:08]so large in the eyes of some in the eyes of myself

[9:13]even that people look at me and they may not say it

[9:16]but i feel that you know what i'm overweight there is a

[9:20]way to lose that weight there are exercises to lose that weight

[9:24]but a person says now look as many exercises i try if

[9:28]science has reached the stage where we're able to have this stomach

[9:36]for example operation a particular tucking in if after i've given birth

[9:46]there are some ladies whose husbands can be baffling by the way

[9:49]he'll say to her i like that type of lady in that

[9:54]type of body shape but when she wants to go and have

[9:57]surgery but you can't have it okay so why do you keep

[10:01]mentioning that but when your wife wants to have surgery she can't

[10:03]have that surgery for what reason so you'll have people who begin

[10:08]to ask the question that if i want an enhancement even to

[10:14]my breasts for example there are some who may be born with

[10:17]a particular size of breasts which is seen in in in many

[10:25]societies as being a size which is for example too seen as

[10:28]small although you know at the end of the day people may

[10:30]turn around and say well that is what i prefer there might

[10:33]be others who say i really don't care about the size of

[10:37]the breasts i care about my backside and i want that filled

[10:43]and of course we live in a kardashian world and in that

[10:45]world it's all about the way you look but it's unfair also

[10:50]to blame it on a kardashian world when the reality is that

[10:56]you'll find countries with majority muslim communities are the ones who have

[11:03]the most surgeries iran for example was known and it's time for

[11:08]having the most nose jobs but even the nose job now has

[11:14]become second fiddle in iran now it's become a case of well

[11:17]i want my breasts enhanced and i want my backside in hearts

[11:22]and i want my lips done and before you know it you're

[11:24]walking around in places like iran or places like lebanon not only

[11:28]do you think well i only thought this was for example in

[11:33]brazil or in you know california but you also look at everyone

[11:35]virtue looks the same sometimes it's like there's one particular look i

[11:38]remember in lebanon there was a particular time where the one look

[11:43]was the haifa whereby look don't ask me how i know these

[11:46]things you can research them on google and there's a particular look

[11:49]which everybody wants there's that particular person and that's beauty and i

[11:55]want to look like that people were coming from kuwait and people

[11:58]were coming from qatar and people were coming you know and then

[12:00]you'll see for example someone wanting a look of a turkish actor

[12:03]or actress i think there was a turkish actress who everybody wanted

[12:09]to look like so even in the muslim world this issue of

[12:15]plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery becomes even more important because on the

[12:19]one hand you've got the issue of defect challenge corrective and on

[12:26]the other hand you have beauty and so a person straight away

[12:31]begins to ask well what does god think and we know very

[12:35]well we are in a bit of a predicament because i don't

[12:39]think there was much plastic surgery going on in for example northwest

[12:44]medina and there wasn't much plastic surgery going on in mecca and

[12:50]here we are discussing botox and we're discussing fillers and we're discussing

[12:57]for example stomach and we're discussing hair and we're discussing uh you

[13:01]know lips and so on and so forth and so what does

[13:04]the quran say about this because we face a dilemma with the

[13:08]first series of ayats we're going to look at what's that dilemma

[13:10]because we love to always say god created the human being in

[13:13]the best of walls and this is a particular dilemma not so

[13:16]much for the beautifying aspect but for the corrective surgery type things

[13:21]because it baffles you when you look in the quran my dear

[13:25]viewers you could go to a surah which all of you have

[13:26]memorized in the quran if you go to um for example go

[13:33]to it why not why not have a look at it we

[13:35]hardly ever look at because we memorized there but if you look

[13:41]in surah 13 as what 95 is 95 isn't it go to

[13:46]surah 95 of the holy quran what is in by the fig

[13:55]in the olive and mount sinai and by this city which is

[14:03]declared as being secure of course because of your presence in the

[14:07]city we created man in the best structure now here a person

[14:18]might turn around and say saying the quran that we created you

[14:22]in the best of structures number one why is this person facing

[14:25]this challenge therefore with their lips or with their eyes or with

[14:30]their whole face i've seen people's whole face with a particular tumor

[14:35]emerging from it or they may turn around as they say then

[14:37]how can a person change what allah has created perfect then we

[14:57]see this human being go down to what to the low no

[15:05]the lowest meaning if a person for example is not you've got

[15:08]a question god says i created man best most then he went

[15:10]lowest lowest one in the look no than the character the human

[15:17]being what he was given of faculties he could be higher than

[15:22]the angels like muhammad s but they can also go down to

[15:28]the lowest of the low okay so that we agree with then

[15:32]someone else says i see another ayah in the quran allah says

[15:36]we created you looking the best in the best of forms therefore

[15:40]how could you change what allah has created in the best of

[15:45]forms which i will they show me for example surah 82 another

[15:47]surah which i'm sure many of you have memorized from jose amma

[15:51]surah 82 verse number six uh yeah and fatah must be 82

[15:59]if i'm not mistaken verse number six oh god is it yeah

[16:07]yeah bismillahi unjustly proportioned you fee in whatever form he willed he

[16:30]put you so therefore someone says god says that we fashioned you

[16:35]we molded you yes if someone is born with a lip or

[16:37]there's an issue with another part of the body where they can't

[16:40]close it like others we may look at biological issues in the

[16:43]family some sort of genetic issue that came about from some issue

[16:47]but the reality is that someone will ask a question that look

[16:50]if god's created that's perfect how dare we change god's creation i

[16:54]think it makes sense i think one of the clearest eyes on

[16:59]this issue and sort of 40 of the quran surah 40 my

[17:45]is the best of form if you were created for example with

[17:49]breast that size that's what you stay with if you were created

[17:55]for example with let's say another part of the body where you

[17:59]wish it was enhanced and you have the ability now person goes

[18:03]straight to iran or to turkey and they're able to change whatever

[18:08]they want even to the extent i heard recently in america there

[18:10]is uh there is there's a surgery to make you taller where

[18:15]you could grow three inches taller how they break the kneecap they

[18:20]break the ankle they breathe what's left you can break everything what's

[18:23]the point also i go three inches for some people those three

[18:29]inches hundred thousand dollars they'll pay for it straight away while muslim

[18:32]looks at these ayahs and they're like allah created me in the

[18:35]best forms no i'm not gonna change anything if allah subhanahu wa

[18:39]allah created me five foot six i'm gonna remain five foot six

[18:42]he created me six foot four i'm six foot four if allah

[18:46]created me with this particular chest size that's my chest size if

[18:50]allah created me for example with this particular nose size that's my

[18:53]nose size if allah created me with i'm not going to change

[18:57]a single thing if my for example lips are like this i'm

[18:59]not going to add it and look like for example someone who's

[19:02]had their lips filled so you'll have a lot of people who

[19:05]these eyes and in particular one ayah one particular verse of the

[19:09]quran because this verse is a verse where shaytan says i'm the

[19:15]one who's going to make you all change your looks this verse

[19:21]shaytan in surah 4 1 1 9 shaytan is blatant that you

[19:31]know what i'm gonna do i'm gonna reach a level where i'm

[19:36]gonna command you to do things i'm gonna give you hope on

[19:43]certain things that you'll never ever reach and i'm also gonna make

[19:49]you change the creation of god this one i am my dear

[19:54]brothers and sisters at home is the main ayah that is used

[20:01]by certain muslim schools certain underlying certain by certain muslim schools to

[20:08]say that it is haram for a person to beautify themselves notice

[20:12]i say that they said it's haram to beautify why because virtually

[20:18]all muslim schools say it is not haram for a person to

[20:24]have corrective surgery because at the end of the day islam doesn't

[20:29]want to occasion harm so they say that there is no problem

[20:34]at all if you find that there is an abnormality maybe not

[20:38]in your eyes and every mother sees her child looking like a

[20:43]beautiful bambi but of course in the eyes of people out there

[20:45]there may be people who might turn around to you it's difficult

[20:50]i'm telling you it's so difficult when even i myself have been

[20:55]to certain places where i've seen people who've needed i think they

[21:01]call it max surgery or something like that where you correct the

[21:06]whole of the the facial structure where the jaw and the teeth

[21:12]and everything connected all of it has to be corrected it's hard

[21:15]for those kids when everyone's staring at them in the road it's

[21:19]hard and so every school in islam believes that you know what

[21:26]this procedure may be something from allah's original creation something went wrong

[21:30]in the pregnancy there was some issue from generations or genetics but

[21:34]you can bring it back to looking to what is seen as

[21:38]being normal but no chance in terms of beautification no chance and

[21:43]this is a very important point why no chance you see someone

[21:48]might ask the question say in a way how would they allow

[21:52]for corrective procedure and not allow for beautification i don't think they

[21:59]allow for corrective procedure because of an eye on the quran because

[22:03]most of the scholars will discuss that will say listen we don't

[22:06]have any evidence that there was for example a lip transplant hair

[22:11]transplant breast transplant back side transplant transplant of the other areas of

[22:18]the body we don't have any evidence of this in the time

[22:22]of rasulallah so you said that how do you reach a ruler

[22:26]ruling some schools might reach a ruling by saying i don't know

[22:31]if permissible if there's nothing written on it which clearly says that

[22:35]it's prohibited then the principle of permissibility emerges other schools might say

[22:43]islam as a religion shouldn't occasionally harm and if this person continuously

[22:46]is facing harm from people because of the way that they look

[22:49]then they're allowed that corrective procedure others say that in the time

[22:57]of the holy prophet peace be upon his family i think his

[23:02]name was grandfather after abner's grandfather um had his nose cut off

[23:10]in the battle of i think was in the collab battles collab

[23:15]wars his nose was completely chopped off by some sword okay now

[23:21]in that time how do they give him a new nose so

[23:24]how do they do a nose or rhinoplasty or any of these

[23:26]trust how do they do it what do you do at that

[24:08]man was very hurt by what was going on but that there

[24:12]was no problem with them having that corrective surgery on the nose

[24:16]because of what had the prophet peace be upon him family said

[24:20]that there was a problem then it would have been a problem

[24:22]forever but because it brings embarrassment hence you have some schools in

[24:30]islam that said if it is a procedure that is helping someone

[24:34]alleviate a particular aberration or defect then that's allowed on the basis

[24:42]of what happened for example with afghanistan or on the basis of

[24:46]a principle because many of them could not give you a particular

[24:48]incident where they'll say that sahabi so-and-so was went to the operating

[24:53]theater and there was a botox done for sahabi so and so

[24:58]so they allow it for procedures which are corrective but they don't

[25:07]allow it in terms of non-shia non-shia in the majority of cases

[25:12]do not allow plastic cosmetic surgery for beautification purposes on the basis

[25:20]of surah 4 verse 119 of the quran you know in surah

[25:28]4 verse 119 from about verse 117 onwards we're introduced to satan

[25:36]and we're introduced to the way that satan rebels and how satan

[25:44]in his rebellion wants to make a point that you know what

[25:48]you could say that i'm rebellious i don't have a problem with

[25:50]that but i'll tell you something do you know what i'm gonna

[25:55]do to mankind you said adam's greater than me yeah and that

[25:58]i had to prostrate to adam you know what i'm going to

[26:02]show you i'm going to show you how the sons of adam

[26:03]are just going to become a mess even that body you've given

[26:09]them they're going to mess it up completely and look at the

[26:13]verse verse one one nine of course in verse one one eight

[28:58]and promises and i'm going to guide them to cutting the animals

[29:02]slitting them and to change the creation of allah subhana wa therefore

[29:10]our brothers in islam who are not shia which means that some

[29:21]of my sunni brothers and sisters who are watching at home are

[29:25]probably thinking either that this i have it easy or i'm going

[29:29]to convert just joking or if i've got botox done i've got

[29:35]fillers done i got no job because we know that there's certain

[29:38]countries in the middle east we've mentioned already who are not majority

[29:42]shia countries but you know that there's a lot of surgery happening

[29:46]you have royal families in the middle east who'll fly doctors from

[29:51]the us on a private jet so that the whole thing has

[29:55]changed but how could you because your medhab is saying that this

[30:00]ayah of the quran means that you're not allowed to do this

[30:05]so someone might turn around and say what's the loophole if i'm

[30:10]not shi because for shia all of these surgeries are allowed someone

[30:16]says hold on hold on hold on do you see i have

[30:19]a different quran yes sir do you have a different quran from

[30:21]the one i'm reading okay you see i'm making things up again

[30:27]you shi i this is another rumor i'm gonna bring out against

[30:30]you because we've already said that you worship ali and that you

[30:43]quran why do the shia arjuris allow cosmetic surgery for both corrective

[31:01]trouble mind you muslims are very good at picking and choosing what

[31:03]they want from the quran if something affects their life in the

[31:06]quran for good they'll say look it's in the quran and if

[31:10]it affects their life forbade in the quran they're like no no

[31:13]i don't take that interpretation why do the shia allow all of

[31:20]these surgeries now by the way someone at home might turn around

[31:23]and say that is encouraging our youth to go into this listen

[31:28]what's allowed doesn't mean it's true it doesn't mean it's wahju and

[31:35]nor do we necessarily want to fall in that trap where that

[31:37]image which turns out to be photoshopped is what i want to

[36:02]mean an ayah can be restricted or unrestricted there may be an

[36:08]ayah like this where a person says you see allah has restricted

[36:12]that you can't change the creation of allah but when we look

[36:15]at this ayah we look at it and we say that there

[36:24]may be certain exceptions in arabic we have an ayah that is

[36:34]or an ayah that is an i that's unrestricted and i that's

[36:40]restricted you may find somebody here who says that you see from

[36:45]this one verse it says you can't change the creation of allah

[36:47]surah 4 verse 1 1 9.

[36:49]we say hold on a minute then how is it that we

[36:52]for example see things around us where we've changed the creation of

[36:55]allah are you allowed to trim some hair on your body yes

[37:01]but you're changing the creation of allah are you allowed to cut

[37:04]your nails but you're changing the creation of allah are you allowed

[37:10]to build bridges well you're changing the creation of allah are you

[37:14]allowed to build for example or dig wells on the earth but

[37:22]how you're changing the creation of allah are you allowed to build

[37:25]dams are you changing creation of allah are you allowed to put

[38:11]the creation of allah and this by the way takes us on

[38:16]to organ donation and genetic engineering because all of these discussions overlap

[38:20]on each other can we donate our organs you can't because you're

[38:25]opening a body allah has given you but then if we can't

[38:27]change allah's creation how comes when it came to building dams building

[38:30]tunnels in certain particular natural creations of god how comes all those

[38:37]things are allowed why doesn't someone say how dare you change allah's

[38:40]creation there are many things around us which show that there is

[38:50]an unrestriction which show what would show that there are exceptions to

[38:56]the rule even non-shia when it comes to their explanation of why

[39:02]a person can have corrective surgery even though corrective surgery may entail

[39:08]certain jurisprudential things being broken for example let's say for example it

[39:14]may entail having a female look at your private area or your

[39:21]aura they'll say because islamic law has exceptions and so the same

[39:27]way allah may allow you to eat pork when it's normally haram

[39:31]but he allows you if you're about to die or drink alcohol

[39:33]if you're thirsty about to die there could be exceptions here likewise

[39:36]for us that when you look at this eye and you say

[39:41]and i'm gonna change the creation of allah yes he did it

[39:45]he made people cut certain parts of the bodies of animals but

[39:49]who said that that means that this eye is restricted and there

[39:55]is absolutely no possibility that one could look at it in an

[39:57]unrestrictive manner and so for us in the shii school are we

[40:03]allowed to have plastic cosmetic whatever type surgery is it allowed someone

[40:09]says say it not only for corrective procedure no even for beautification

[40:15]if someone out there now for example wants to have their breasts

[40:20]enhanced to a size which is smaller or to a size which

[40:27]is bigger because you might have somebody who says i want reduction

[40:31]i don't want enhancement you may have others as long as we

[40:38]see certain principles of jurisprudence that are not broken everybody bear with

[40:41]me on this point if a lady is living in iran or

[40:46]you are living in london and you want to go to iran

[40:50]for let's say breast surgery and there's this top doctor in iran

[40:56]top top top doctor doctor what shall we call the doctor we

[40:59]call him doctor reza for example a top doctor in iran you

[41:06]want breast surgery and you have to go to see dr reza

[41:10]and dr reza in iran is seeing so many of these you

[41:14]walk in and he says do you sit in front of me

[41:17]take your top off and he begins to actually feel your chest

[41:26]you're saying but sayidna you said beautifications allowed i didn't say you

[41:33]break the other laws because the laws of maharamanam still apply and

[41:38]the laws of zina still apply someone says what are you talking

[41:43]about the quran didn't say don't commit adultery it said don't approach

[41:47]or go near i remember someone saying that a doctor who has

[41:55]to do these surgeries 10 15 20 a day it doesn't have

[42:02]any feelings anymore man is man man is man because someone might

[42:04]turn around to me and say say it you know people who

[42:06]are in male male relationships or female female relationships can they be

[42:12]like my hairdresser or my plastic surgeon because they are male they

[42:15]are engaged in a male male relationship they have feelings for males

[42:18]there are people who are bisexual they say i do male or

[42:24]i could change i can feel the female as well on the

[42:25]country if you have people like that you say for example someone

[42:29]says to you that i am in a female female relationship so

[42:31]someone's like okay then there's no problem for me you may even

[42:35]have to wear a scarf from some of these but when you

[42:37]come back let's come back a doctor male you want your backside

[42:46]breast chest whatever it is those areas are not the normal areas

[42:51]that someone would see number one number two you have to have

[42:59]a female who conducts all of this no mail someone says where

[43:03]can a male conduct for example a male if we look at

[43:10]corrective for example if for example there is a difficulty even life

[43:14]or death situation it can work both ways a doctor male can

[43:17]look after a female female male a male for example somebody wants

[43:23]something done on their face and of course these examples my devil

[43:26]says i can apply the other way for when the men are

[43:30]getting as well but say for example a male you want something

[43:34]done on your lips according to many scholars if there's a barrier

[43:53]will see the face of the female so if he's gonna come

[43:56]and he's gonna touch your face if there's a barrier of a

[43:59]form of clothing than that is allowed as long as there isn't

[44:03]any look which can take you out of the boundaries of that

[44:08]proper relationship someone says how about for example when you are telling

[44:16]me about these surgeries can i therefore have parts of my stomach

[44:19]completely taken out yes you can okay i'm a female but there's

[44:23]this top male doctor saying no you don't understand he's the greatest

[44:27]doctor ever to have lived but he's a male and i i

[44:31]need him to do it no you don't need him to do

[44:33]it he cannot do unless you taking whatever in your stomach out

[44:35]is a matter of danger for you then there is no issue

[44:39]there but if it's not dangerous it's just like you know what

[44:42]i just i want it to look a bit more toned or

[44:44]post pregnancy it's not haram for you to have these surgeries but

[44:47]would have to be a female who conducts these surgeries someone else

[44:53]is saying okay you've shown in the quran that there are exceptions

[44:56]and that everything has its context how about if i want to

[45:03]put for example extra eyelashes or like an extension on my lashes

[45:09]does that affect for example because some of these last for seven

[45:12]days some of them last for a month yes all affected by

[45:17]these things and number two if this is a form of xena

[45:19]which is bringing other attraction for example then you find that at

[45:29]the same time it is not allowed because she a law allowed

[45:34]for some of these things didn't mean that there was no limit

[45:39]on them but if someone's a husband at home for example now

[45:42]their wife wants to do this surgery in some cases the husband

[45:47]might not say i like you the way you are but in

[45:50]other cases if you're always going to be praising others and not

[45:52]your misses and when your missus wants to do the surgery you're

[45:55]like no no what was surgery we don't do these things that's

[45:59]hypocritical interesting that also within shiasm as many people always ask me

[46:04]about tattoos you'll find that other schools in islam again adamant he

[46:13]changed the look of allah so why within the shia wouldn't be

[46:18]that strict not only because we looked at the context of the

[46:24]ayah but just because you won't find for example a scholar like

[46:27]allah coming out right and saying haram doesn't mean that it's something

[47:06]certain periods where such a thing may have been allowed but it's

[47:13]interesting that even within shiaism there is still restrictions where for example

[47:16]can a person put allah's name or the prophet's name or the

[47:19]quran no why because that body also goes into states of impurity

[47:23]for example and you go into a jalakumallah the bathroom and so

[47:27]on and so forth and even for ladies some might say well

[47:29]why can't i have a well maybe a case in shia law

[47:34]that lady can have but if it's in a place where those

[47:35]who are mahram to her can see her especially for those who

[47:39]don't wear hijab and may find in some cases some who don't

[47:42]wear hijab are very modest but some who don't wear hijab wear

[47:45]t-shirts and you have that again it's a problem when it comes

[47:48]to the scarf or the veiling so you found that someone might

[47:54]say my teeth for example i want to work on my teeth

[47:57]it's neither necessarily corrective nor is it beautification in every sense and

[48:07]and and i would say in most cases probably it is but

[48:11]not in every sense it's very interesting that the in in non-shia

[48:17]schools there are discussions about how you can't work on your teeth

[48:23]for beautification very very interesting because they say that arab ladies this

[48:27]i couldn't believe this when i read this but they said arab

[48:31]ladies they used to want to have their teeth a bit separated

[48:33]which i couldn't believe like can you imagine if i'm just trying

[48:39]to think like it's it's unbelievable but they they used to actually

[48:42]see that something i don't want to i don't necessarily want to

[48:46]look at in a bad way because there may be people who

[48:47]have this within them what you have today braces for example and

[48:52]many muslims wear braces for some reason that's not changing the creation

[48:56]of allah subhana wa and many muslim ladies who are not shia

[48:58]also do their eyebrows but for some reason that's not changing the

[49:00]creation of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but anyway the arabs some some

[49:05]ulama actually said this is very interesting actually said that you cannot

[49:11]do it because we have a hadith yeah but those arab ladies

[49:15]what did they say they said that the ladies who are known

[49:19]as selling their bodies used to do these things okay but if

[49:21]a lady doesn't sell her body why would you put her in

[49:23]the same category as that fragile for example living at that time

[49:26]then there was some ulama very interesting some ulama spoke about tedles

[49:35]tadlis for example is this idea that you may not give the

[49:37]real of what is the original where you change it a bit

[49:43]and so some automatic never allowed cosmetic surgery or for beautification because

[49:49]they're like you're not telling the guy exactly how you looked this

[49:53]is very interesting and it's not shia it's many non-shia i think

[49:59]there's certain non-shia at home whose uh may have been uh and

[50:02]now that they have things which suit them their arcade has gone

[50:07]stronger whereas if you mention amir morin then there's always billions of

[50:11]question marks anyway there's some ulama who said in non-shia schools you

[50:16]can't do this beautification surgery because you might end up hiding something

[50:22]that the husband doesn't know so if a person is really hairy

[50:24]there's some people who are really hairy they go and get that

[50:30]surgery done when they get married their missus for example doesn't know

[50:35]that they they were that hairy and later that she sees the

[50:36]kids and she's like you should have told me you're that hairy

[50:39]look at our kid he looks like he's got a carpet on

[50:41]his back or for example a girl who gets a nose job

[50:47]before getting married the husband turns around listen for us the shia

[50:52]there's no problems but i'm just saying in other schools in islam

[50:54]they look at the concept of sadly that you've got to tell

[50:58]the husband that you've got that nose job because later on the

[51:00]husband might turn around and say well where did our kids look

[54:27]year round to hold majalis and celebrations the first floor will have

[54:33]a built-in amphitheater seating 200 people it will be used to premiere
