[1:53]holy month and for your blessings and for the blessings of your

[1:58]family and this holy month recite Muhammad one of the objections that

[2:13]we the followers of the island constantly hear is what is this

[2:22]obsession with why are you Shia always talking about the bait why

[2:30]can't you be like all the other Muslims use every few days

[2:38]it's the birth of an Imam or every few days it's the

[2:42]death of an Imam and you're always talking about your imams and

[2:47]talking about the baits and there's this sort of obsession with the

[2:56]Elizabeth all Muslims love the island but you see us you guys

[3:00]go too far you guys are taking it too extreme with this

[3:04]attachment and constant remembrance of the elbait this is an objection that

[3:16]probably many of you have heard of and probably many of you

[3:19]think of and maybe you say it could be a little bit

[3:26]true however when it comes to the issue of succession after the

[3:31]prophet when it comes to the issue of leadership after the prophets

[3:35]when it comes to the love and admiration towards Salaam we see

[3:44]that there are two schools of thought two ideologies one group one

[3:55]ideology says that any person could come and become a leader and

[3:59]the moment this person steps up and they become a leader then

[4:05]all the Muslims have to admire this person all of the Muslims

[4:11]have to follow this person and this individual whether he came to

[4:17]power through the sword or it was shura or it was appointment

[4:23]or however this person came to power then all Muslims must follow

[4:29]this person and cannot object to anything this person says because Allah

[4:32]says in the Quran Allah says in the Quran obey God obey

[4:42]the prophet and Obey those who are in the position of power

[4:47]in the position of AMR and in a Hadith narrated by Abu

[4:57]hurairah he says that any person supposedly rasulullah said this Hadith that

[5:05]any person who steps up to lead the prayer any person who

[5:11]steps up to be the Khalifa to be the leader whether this

[5:13]person is a good person or this person is a bad person

[5:18]you have to pray behind him and this is why this school

[5:26]of thought this ideology will come and say any person who made

[5:33]it to power as long as this person made it to power

[5:35]everyone else has to stay silent and not object this is why

[5:42]the proponents of the supporters of this ideology they'll come and they'll

[5:48]say even Imam Al Hussain what he did rebelling against the leader

[5:52]of his time the Khalifa yazid of his time Imam Hussain did

[5:55]wrong because the power and the authority of yazid had already been

[5:59]established and therefore Imam Hussain he stood against the leader of his

[6:09]time and you see that this ideology became the mainstream ideology after

[6:14]the death of rasulullah where certain individuals came to power sometimes it

[6:21]was through Ashura sometimes it was through a so-called chura sometimes it

[6:27]was through appointment sometimes it was through a six-man Surah and others

[6:32]came to power through the sword and through fighting and through beheading

[6:36]and through all of these other things that we read about in

[6:39]Islamic history this is not the Shiite view of succession after rasulullah

[6:47]this is not the view of the Quran and of rasulullah of

[6:55]leadership after the prophet The View is the view that says Divine

[7:03]representation meaning anyone who's in a position of authority to speak on

[7:12]behalf of God anyone who speaks on behalf of the Quran anyone

[7:15]who is in a position to interpret the Quran this person must

[7:22]be divinely appointed by Allah you can't be in a position of

[7:30]authority call yourself the Khalifa of rasulullah the caliph of the Prophet

[7:35]the successor of the prophet and you have not been appointed by

[7:41]Allah and the proof of that is in the Quran when Allah

[7:45]speaks about someone who is on earth a representative of God a

[7:53]Khalifa of God on Earth what does Allah say Allah says Khalifa

[8:01]I have appointed the word Jal is used I have appointed the

[8:09]Khalifa on Earth in another verse in the Quran Allah says [Music]

[8:17]I have appointed you David I have appointed you as a caliph

[8:25]in the land and anyone who is appointed to be in that

[8:28]position the position of divine representation this person must have certain attributes

[8:36]and qualities and paths a certain level of tests to be in

[8:40]that position this is why Allah tested Prophet Ibrahim many tests a

[8:49]test after a test after a test Ibrahim with a series of

[9:03]tests one after the other after the other he passed them once

[9:06]he passed them what does Allah tell him once he passed the

[9:17]test Allah tells him now I have appointed you as an Imam

[9:24]as a leader as a Divine representative over people and then Ibrahim

[9:28]he wanted that position of Imam and Leadership to be passed on

[9:35]in his progeny in his children he said what about my family

[9:40]will they have that my children will they have that Allah tells

[9:45]him an oppressor a sinner does not take the position of divine

[9:56]representation and this makes sense this is why we believe that a

[10:00]leader that stands and is appointed by God a prophet or an

[10:08]Imam who's appointed by God this person must be an infallible this

[10:13]person must be this person must have not a certain a a

[10:16]single hour in their life prostrated to an idol this person should

[10:25]not have sinned and disobeyed Allah now some people they come and

[10:30]they say wait a second what about counsel and what about shura

[10:38]Allah says in the Quran there's a matter of Surah the matter

[10:45]of counseling and talking and Democratic representation why is Islam against that

[10:51]Islam is not against that Islam says if you if people want

[11:01]to pick someone who represents them then let them democratically elect someone

[11:08]that represents them but can we elect someone who speaks on behalf

[11:13]of God we could pick someone who represents us who speaks on

[11:16]our behalf but can we pick someone who speaks on behalf of

[11:22]God no this is why Allah says in the Quran but regarding

[11:25]the issue of Khalifa regarding the issue of caliphate Allah says in

[11:31]the Quran and your lord and your lord is the one who

[11:51]picks the Khalifa Allah says it's my rights I am the one

[11:54]who chooses who speaks on my behalf you want someone to speak

[11:58]on your behalf their matters is a matter of Surah but my

[12:03]matter no one could come and say this person or that person

[12:07]speaks on behalf of God but unfortunately we see that the non-share

[12:14]a view comes and says that the prophet did not elect a

[12:23]successor the prophet did not choose and any person could come and

[12:27]become the successor of rasulullah a few years ago when Isis their

[12:34]leader was Abu Bakr al-baghdadi they started calling him the Khalifa of

[12:38]rasulullah suddenly this man who came out of nowhere he becomes the

[12:43]representative the Divine representative of God and this is why we see

[12:49]in the non-share system there's no definitive way of electing and selecting

[12:54]a leader that speaks on behalf of God go and look at

[13:00]the first Khalifa how was he elected in a system of Surah

[13:04]but it wasn't a real counsel it wasn't a real Surah because

[13:07]not all the Muslims were present and amongst whom many Hashem the

[13:14]family of rasulullah not a single one of them was present when

[13:17]Abu Bakr was selected and this is why he has a poem

[13:24]he says how is it that you were appointed to be the

[13:30]representative of rasulullah how is it that you took the position of

[13:34]leadership they come and they say it was Ashura one it was

[13:39]a council the Muslims they elected the first Khalifa and second he

[13:43]was the closest to the prophets because when they were fighting in

[13:47]the sativa as to who should be the one elected to be

[13:51]the Khalifa you have the muhajarin and the ansar the mahajarin were

[13:55]those who migrated with the prophet from Mecca to Medina and the

[13:58]ansar were the helpers and supporters who were in Madina they started

[14:02]fighting amongst themselves they say we're closer to the prophet and the

[14:06]ansar they say we're the ones who housed and welcomed the prophet

[14:11]so they started fighting and then the mahajarin said no we were

[14:14]we were the ones who were closer to the prophet therefore we

[14:18]deserve the position of khilafa but he says in a poem he

[14:24]says how is it that it was Ashura a council and you

[14:35]became you came to power through a council but the one who

[14:40]you're supposed to ask him all of the family of rasulullah they

[14:44]were not there was that in the Hashem why because was busy

[14:52]taking care of the body of the Prophet ready to bury the

[14:55]prophets while they began to fight over leadership and then he says

[15:07]and if it's you're saying I'm closer to the prophet that's why

[15:12]you came to power well there was someone that was closer to

[15:15]the prophet than you and that is so we see that there

[15:22]was no definite leadership one Abu Bakr they come and they say

[15:27]through the Surah okay so it's shura then how was Abu Bakr

[15:33]how was Omar brought into power it wasn't Ashura Abu Bakr appointed

[15:39]Umar and then okay so now it's appointment and sure but then

[15:43]you come and you see othman comes to power through a system

[15:48]that is totally different a sixth man and then the only person

[15:54]out of the four that actually came to power through a majority

[15:59]the masses coming and begging him to be power be in power

[16:05]he was the only person and this was after the death of

[16:14]athman the Muslims they came begging to take the position of power

[16:18]so the followers of the Elizabeth the view of the followers of

[16:25]the says no appointing it is God it is the soul rights

[16:33]and authority to appoint either a nebby the prophet or the wasi

[18:18]this Imam come to power how does how is this Imam appointed

[18:26]this Imam must be appointed by Allah and then another refute to

[18:31]the argument that the religion of Islam was complete and there's no

[18:34]need for a leader there's no need for a successor after the

[18:41]prophet is that no there was a need for 23 years he

[18:46]was with the Muslims but after he died Muslims were still confused

[18:51]over certain matters today why is it that you have some Muslims

[18:55]they fold their hands when they pray and others they have their

[18:59]hand down did the prophet every day he changes one day he

[19:01]falls one day he brings it down or as one of the

[19:04]brothers just did like this one hand down and one hand on

[19:09]Allah he prayed one way one way he prayed but the Muslims

[19:18]they were the ones who changed course and that is because some

[19:24]started following the wrong leaders and the wrong leaders deviated deviated the

[19:31]path that rasulullah had placed the Muslims on and the deviation became

[19:37]so extreme that just within 50 years after the death of the

[19:44]prophets the very grandson of the Prophet was butchered in the land

[19:47]of karbala isn't that deviation from the truth isn't that deviation from

[19:51]the right path so this is why there needs to be an

[19:57]Imam there needs to be a Divine representative and the Quran appoints

[20:02]and Allah appointed but today there's this accusation against God and against

[20:12]the prophet that the prophets did not appoint a leader rasulullah he

[20:19]was dying and he knew he was going to die he kept

[20:23]he keeps telling the Muslims I'm going to die I'm going to

[20:28]leave you and then he tells you Allah you guys take care

[20:30]of it you guys take care of your matters is that logical

[20:35]does the uncle accept that the holy prophet who for 23 years

[20:39]he put his Blood Sweat and Tears into this religion of Islam

[20:45]and then he comes and he dies and he says yellow you

[20:48]guys take care of it he knows there are hypocrites in Medina

[20:52]he knows that there are certain individuals who were paid like Abu

[21:00]sufyan and others who came and took money to join the religion

[21:04]of Islam he knows that there were individuals that had hatred towards

[21:08]the religion of Islam but then he comes and he says Allah

[21:11]you guys take care of it I'm going to leave is this

[21:14]the prophet that we believe in is this the prophet that we

[21:18]respect and admire and love a little child a young child that

[21:23]has a lemonade stand if they're leaving it they're going to make

[21:26]sure someone is there in their position he brings the religion of

[21:30]Islam and he says guys I'm leaving you take care of it

[21:33]does that make sense if that doesn't make sense if that makes

[21:38]sense then why didn't Abu Bakr do the same thing why did

[21:43]he appoint ummah why did why do the kings right now why

[21:45]do the leaders right now they all appoint a leader or they

[21:50]make sure there's a leader after them supposedly he came and he

[21:54]left no that's not how the prophet was rasulullah any time he

[21:58]used to leave Medina he used to appoint someone in his place

[22:02]he used to make sure that someone who was worthy someone who

[22:06]has the rights leadership skills is in his position so why the

[22:15]obsession with the bait why the attachment with the bait because the

[22:20]alibate were appointed by God because the because Imam Ali was selected

[22:27]and appointed by Allah this is why we are attached to them

[22:33]it's not a personal matter it's not an issue of emotions Allah

[22:37]appointed them and Allah ordered the Muslims to love them and to

[22:42]follow them purified Surah 33 verse 33 Allah clearly says in the

[22:54]Quran verily Allah purifies and removes all filth and Evil from the

[23:10]other bait did Allah purify anyone else did Allah bring down a

[23:15]verse of here for anyone else if they did Will Follow that

[23:22]person but no one else received that other than when the Muslims

[23:26]would come to rasulullah they would tell him ya rasulallah you saved

[23:30]us you brought us out of the darkness to the light you

[23:35]did so much for us how can we thank you how can

[23:36]we repay you for what you have done for us rasulullah used

[23:42]to always say I don't want anything my reward is with God

[23:50]verse 42 verse 23 orders say I don't ask for anything I

[24:07]don't want wealth I don't want anything from you except mawada which

[24:11]means loving and obedience to who to the qurba to the family

[24:16]of rasulullah that's all the prophet asked for that's all he asked

[24:23]for love my animate follow my other bait and the value the

[24:28]value of hidayah the value of the religion of Islam if you

[24:34]were to make an equation right now if you go and you

[24:36]sell something to someone you have a phone you come and you

[24:41]sell it to this person they'll tell you what do you want

[25:25]Prophet The Bait could include others who were with the prophets why

[25:30]is it that you guys love these individuals there are many proofs

[25:38]for who are the other baits those who we follow but the

[25:42]greatest proof and perhaps one of the most important quranic proof a

[25:48]proof in the Quran is the verse of Mubarak when the Christians

[25:53]of najran a group of Christians they come to rasulullah and they

[25:58]have a debate with the prophet they begin debating with the Prophet

[26:03]The Prophet allowed them to enter into the Masjid with their crosses

[26:06]and the clothing that they were wearing some of the Muslims they

[26:09]objected but rasulullah said no let them enter they came in and

[26:13]then they were saying Jesus Is God Jesus is the son of

[26:20]God Allah tells the prophet to tell them the analogy of Jesus

[26:27]is like Adam if Jesus is the son of God then Adam

[26:32]would also be the Son of God Adam doesn't have a father

[26:34]or a mother but they kept debating and debating and debating until

[26:38]Allah tells the prophets if they keep debating with you over the

[27:01]matter of Jesus now how are you going to know who's the

[27:05]truth okay let's go out and let's perform as we go out

[27:11]in the desert and we do Dua against one another May the

[28:26]where is the remembrance of Fatima today when they say the Hadith

[28:32]of the Prophet they mentioned this lady and that lady there's no

[28:36]mention of Fatima in fact bukhari in his book the so-called sahih

[28:40]al-bukhari there's one Hadith this is the lady that the Quran says

[28:47]this is the lady that embodied the woman in the life of

[28:54]the prophet she comes out the other woman were ordered to stay

[28:57]in the house rasulullah brings her and fusana he brought so these

[29:08]are the elements so you ask me why the attachment to the

[29:15]other baits these are the reasons why the obsession with the island

[29:19]mates because the prophet ordered me to love these individuals who are

[34:21]time of the Prophet but this word Shia was coined by rasulullah

[34:28]the holy prophet he's the one who said to Imam Ali when

[34:35]the verse was revealed those who have Iman and they do good

[34:43]deeds they are the best creation rasulallah you and your Shia you

[34:53]are the best of God's creation and this is narrated by asuti

[34:56]in his book and of course many other sources so what does

[35:04]being a Shia mean being Shia means being a follower of the

[35:07]Sunnah of the prophet and being a real follower of the Sunnah

[35:13]of the prophets means being this is what it means if you're

[35:19]really following the prophet then you have to follow the Hadith of

[35:22]then you have to follow the Hadith then you have to follow

[35:25]the orders and commands of rasulullah all of them even the one

[35:33]with regards to Divine representation and Leadership now some people they come

[35:40]and they say why why Ali there could be so many others

[35:43]there were many others from the sahaba of the prophets you could

[35:48]follow all the others in addition to the orders and commands the

[35:54]quranic proof the Hadith Proof come and look at the life of

[35:59]Ali and compare him to others compare Imam Ali to others who

[36:01]was the first to believe in the holy prophet he was the

[36:08]first to pray with the holy prophet the first from the Muslims

[36:14]and this is why one of the sahaba of rasulullah by the

[36:17]name of he says he says in the time of jaheliyah we

[36:33]used to worship The Rock and we used to drink intoxicants and

[36:36]alcohol while we were drinking getting drunk and worshiping The Rock who

[36:52]was 14 years old he was praying and then he says and

[37:07]Christ was harassing and assaulting and abusing the prophet every chance that

[37:13]they can and the only person that was defending the prophet was

[37:19]this a test of faith was late and believing no he was

[37:26]the first to believe in times of putting his life at risk

[37:30]putting his life in danger the dearest thing to every individual is

[37:34]their life how many times put his life in danger for the

[37:41]sake of rasulullah the day he slept in the bed of the

[37:43]Prophet The Night of the hijrah he sleeps in the bed of

[37:47]the Prophet knowing it's going to be attacked did anyone else do

[37:50]that in the Battle of badra in the Battle of in the

[37:54]Battle of azab in the Battle of Hanan in the Battle of

[37:58]it was who would face the enemies and defend rasulullah when it

[38:08]came to sadaqah when it came to charity they are our role

[38:16]models they became the prime example of a model citizen a model

[38:20]Muslim citizen the Quran attests to their charity and their sacrifice when

[38:27]they sleep hungry for three days when it comes to the knowledge

[38:45]if I want to follow someone after the prophet should I be

[38:49]following someone who is the most knowledgeable well there's no shadow of

[38:54]a doubt that the most knowledgeable from the sahaba of rasulullah from

[38:58]the companions of the Prophet was this is why rasulullah says [Music]

[39:08]I am the city of knowledge and Ali is the gate to

[39:13]that City if you want to go to the city you have

[39:16]to go through the gates so why are we obsessed with the

[39:22]other bait why do we follow their debate we follow them because

[39:24]they are the door to rasulullah we follow them because they were

[39:28]the first to believe we followed them because they were the first

[39:33]to implement the teachings of Islam and we follow them because Allah

[39:37]has commanded us to follow them this is why it's not an

[39:39]issue of obsession it's not an issue of choosing one group of

[39:44]people over another if the Quran had told us to follow someone

[39:47]else we would have followed the other person but the Quran told

[39:52]us to follow these individuals this is why we're following them and

[39:55]if I if anyone is following anyone else they have to know

[40:00]why they're following that person because on the day of judgment everyone

[40:03]will have to stand behind their Imam that day everyone will have

[40:14]to go and stand behind their Imam so the shihas are not

[40:20]obsessed with the Albert the Shahs are following the commands of God

[40:24]and the commands of the prophets but the question is why aren't

[40:28]why isn't anyone else why aren't the others following why aren't others

[40:36]showing the love and the mawada to the Allah why is it
