[0:00]the peak of his creation the symbol of humanity the holy prophet

[0:08]Muhammad sallallahu alaihi Allah and his Immaculate progeny of the peace be

[0:19]upon them especially the leader of our time the awaited Savior Allah

[0:26]may Allah haste in his reappearance and make us all amongst his

[0:34]sincere and dedicated servants verses 175 to 176.

[0:44]Allah commands the prophet salallahu alaihi in these verses to deliver to

[0:53]us this story of an interesting figure who collapsed and fell down

[0:59]Allah States now [Music] o prophet tell your people about the story

[1:17]of the one whom we gave our ayat we blessed this person

[1:24]with signs with blessings Divine blessings this verse is about a man

[1:31]from Beni Israel called he was a contemporary of prophet Musa and

[1:39]he was gifted by God such that his Dua would be accepted

[1:44]one narration tells us he had a part of Islam the great

[1:50]name of Allah he had some access to it he stood out

[1:57]Prophet Musa treated him with so much respect sometimes someone wanted a

[2:02]Dua Prophet Musa would refer that person to this man he had

[2:08]such an impeccable standing in the community but Allah decided to try

[2:17]him because of his social standing surround the Pharaoh and his group

[2:21]enticed him don't stand with Musa what does Musa have he is

[2:28]poor he has no Army he has no government he looks like

[2:33]a shepherd do you really want to be on his side come

[2:36]to our side we'll give you power we'll equip you with whatever

[3:15]Allah wants to give us free will you make that choice we're

[3:19]not robots that God controls Allah gave him the opportunity he spoiled

[3:35]his desires that is why he failed his test Allah commands the

[3:41]prophet in the Quran to tell us about the story because this

[3:45]is the story of those who fall those who collapse those who

[3:50]fail their test they failed their test because they follow their desires

[3:56]their desires their Temptations control them hence in a very powerful Hadith

[4:04]by Islam he States [Music] Imam Ali is brave courageous but there's

[4:10]something that scares imamadi he says you know what my greatest fear

[4:15]is for you people I fear two things the first one is

[4:27]following your desires the second one procrastinating having false long hopes it's

[4:35]okay when I'm 70 I'll repent when I'm 70 I'll go to

[4:44]relatives I'll wear the hijab I'll do this I'll do that the

[4:49]Imam says these two are dangerous I fear them for you o

[4:52]people foreign following your desires is going to stop you from arriving

[5:02]at the truth and as for having false long hopes delaying goodness

[5:08]it will make you forget the akhara Allah tells us the story

[5:27]follow your desires this is why the people failed during the era

[9:18]instant gratification we want everything instantly there's no patience anymore I want

[9:22]something I crave something I want it with the touch of a

[9:28]button if you remember Amazon Prime years ago there was two-day tripping

[9:31]and then masha'allah it progressed to one day shipping and now there

[9:37]is same-day shipping and then now there's two types of same-day shipping

[9:41]there's 5 a.m to 10 a.m and then follow what we feel

[9:45]is right society today is teaching you follow your feelings this feels

[9:51]right follow it my dear brothers and sisters one of the most

[9:57]deceptive things in your life is your feelings they're very deceptive we

[10:03]don't follow Islam in Quran because it feels right never we follow

[10:10]Islam and Quran because intellectually and rationally we know it's right not

[10:15]because it feels right feelings deceive us as some guys who are

[10:21]speeding on the freeway they're going 90 100 they'll tell you feels

[10:25]right it's okay feels actually very good feels good to pass a

[10:30]red line I enjoy it it's thrilling never allow your feelings to

[10:35]dictate to you what's right and what's wrong you need to intellectually

[10:39]know with wisdom whether something is right or wrong not a feeling

[10:43]the one who worships an idol he tells you it feels good

[10:47]every religion out there is going to tell you feels good to

[10:50]follow my religion I don't follow Islam because it feels good I

[10:54]follow it because I know rationally that it's good for me that

[10:59]it's true that it's authentic but we live in a society in

[11:04]which we are driven by feelings and believe me doing good things

[11:09]sometimes may not feel good a surgeon who has to cut up

[11:16]a body in the surgery room doesn't feel good I know a

[11:19]heart surgeon in New York he tells me say it I have

[11:24]extreme stress every time I go to the operating room well achieved

[11:27]surgeon doctor he's globally known I told him why you've been doing

[11:33]this for 20 30 years he'll be said I'm cutting up a

[12:44]pressure on us to accept the lgbtq community to accept gender fluidity

[12:51]there is immense pressure on our children at schools to accept this

[12:58]this feels right accept it let people be free in the name

[13:01]I've Dive In The Name of diversity I have to embrace and

[13:06]support all of them and if I don't support that there are

[13:09]consequences for me in society just last month a mother in Canada

[13:17]the school had imposed on all school children to where they gave

[13:23]flag that child refused he said no I love my classmates they're

[13:30]humans I'll work with them I'll study with them I'll respect them

[13:35]but I'm not going to align with this you know what they

[13:39]try to do they try to expel him from school number two

[13:42]they called The Social Services on the mother because this child refused

[13:49]that there is immense pressure on us we need to know how

[13:55]to navigate this how do we deal with this very important challenge

[13:58]what are our Islamic values our duty before Allah I understand this

[14:05]is a sensitive discussion but it is one that we must have

[14:31]to wake up and take action we must have a civilized conversation

[14:34]about this know our Islamic values where is the moral compass so

[14:40]in our discussion tonight we will examine Islam's stance very briefly on

[14:46]homosexuality and gender fluidity and gender reassignment let's begin with the first

[14:54]point here my dear brothers and sisters when it comes to your

[15:01]moral compass no Society no government teaches us what's moral and not

[15:08]moral yes I respect the government when it gives me laws to

[15:10]organize my life to be a good citizen when the government tells

[15:15]me stop at the red light I'll stop when the government tells

[15:20]me you're building this building it has to be up to code

[15:23]I accept that be a good citizen don't cause trouble with the

[15:28]law with law enforcement but no government has the right to teach

[15:33]you what's moral and not moral there's only one source in this

[15:40]universe that teaches you what's right and what's wrong and that's Allah

[15:43]that's your creator that's the almighty God we take our moral compass

[15:49]not from society not from people who change their minds every day

[15:54]not from lobbies and politics we take them directly from Allah the

[15:59]government does not teach me what's moral and not moral inshallah all

[16:06]the countries of the world they tell you adultery is okay it's

[16:10]moral drinking is okay it's moral fine it's legal do it support

[16:16]it you can never force me to accept that yes you want

[16:19]to go and drink I'll pray that you don't and shall let

[16:23]you repent but that's fine it's a free country go doing go

[16:25]do whatever you want but do not impose on me and my

[16:30]children to accept drinking every single year 90 000 Americans die because

[16:36]of drinking half of them involved in accidents that had to do

[16:41]with drunk driving and the other half diseases or other crimes that

[16:47]were committed while a person is drunk Islam says no to that

[16:52]that's my moral code I will not let government or Society to

[16:56]change my perception of that having good times with my family Allah

[17:01]teaches me what's right and what's wrong not government not Society not

[17:04]anyone else you know one of the funniest headlines sometimes I'll read

[17:11]when I'm looking through the headlines for some news it's very funny

[17:16]but it disappoints me at the same time headlines like this teen

[17:20]cheered for kicking her mom out of the house how many times

[17:25]have you seen a headline like that you want to go and

[17:29]share that it's a free Society go and cheer that all you

[17:31]want I pray for your guidance don't but it's your freedom it's

[17:36]your choice but do not come and impose those values on me

[17:39]and my children you have no right as a citizen I have

[17:45]the right to determine my moral code no one is allowed to

[17:49]dictate that on me this is my right this is my freedom

[17:54]you practice what you want but do not force me to embrace

[17:58]and align with something that is not moral that is questionable one

[18:04]area that is not moral according to all the monotheistic religions of

[18:11]Allah the abrahamic faiths is the practice of homosexuality I'm talking about

[18:16]the practice here I'm very careful with my words the practice is

[18:20]not a practice that is moral this is The Stance of the

[18:26]religions of God I would be not honest with you if I

[18:29]would tell you anything else about this my dear brothers and sisters

[18:34]in the eyes of God this is a sin like other sins

[18:37]it's a sin I cannot align myself with a sin I cannot

[18:42]align myself with something that is not moral Allah has not authorized

[18:46]that Prophet never authorized this Prophet Isa never authorized this Prophet Ibrahim

[18:52]and Musa never authorized that who am I to come and embrace

[18:55]and authorize it this is The Stance of Islam this act is

[18:59]not a moral Act this lifestyle is not a moral lifestyle now

[19:05]does it mean I dehumanize these people of course not they're citizens

[19:09]they live in the same Society we coexist but I do not

[19:15]Embrace that identity imagine if someone develops an identity around drinking marijuana

[19:20]let's say a group of people they develop an identity around marijuana

[19:25]that's what defines them what are you forced now to accept them

[19:28]in the name of diversity where has the world come to I

[19:33]have my moral grounds do not force me to change my moral

[19:36]grounds yes I don't dehumanize you I don't incite phylus against you

[19:40]in humanity you're my fellow counterpart in humanity you're a fellow citizen

[19:45]that's fine we live together in one Society I don't deny you

[19:50]basic human services but I do not support such a lifestyle I

[19:56]do not support such an act Allah has not authorized me to

[19:59]do so that is my moral compass but sure I'll give you

[20:05]human services you're a human at the end of the day I

[20:06]disagree with the ACT but I don't dehumanize you to give you

[20:13]an example of how this works because many people ask I'll give

[20:18]you the classic cake example let's say you have a cake shop

[20:23]a bakery you sell cakes someone appears at your shop and this

[20:29]person is buying a cake from you now you know that this

[20:36]person is buying this cake to take it to a gay wedding

[20:40]you know that islamically I'm asking you this question right now islamically

[20:46]are you allowed to sell them this cake what do you say

[20:52]my response will surprise you yes you are allowed to sell that

[20:58]cake why I'm selling cake what this person does with the cake

[21:02]is not my business was asked about a similar case a person

[21:07]a vendor a grocery store owner he said I sell grapes I

[21:14]know that this person will come and buy grapes from me then

[21:20]he will go and make wine from these grapes can I sell

[21:23]these grapes to this person what did your Imam say he said

[21:28]yes you can sell it you're selling a Halal product what that

[21:31]person does with that product is not my business yes I guide

[21:34]this person I can give them recommendations but it's not my business

[21:38]what this person does with the product my job is had it's

[21:43]okay that's case number one case number two this person comes and

[21:48]he tells you make me a gay cake what do I mean

[21:52]by that put two figures of men on the cake make it

[21:57]for me islamically are you allowed to give this person such a

[22:01]cake no why not what's the difference because now you're endorsing it

[22:06]and supporting it I as a servant of Allah do not have

[22:11]the right to endure something that God has not authorized sorry I

[22:14]can't give you that cake I'm going to sue you do whatever

[22:18]you want Habibi I'm not going to give you that cake I'm

[22:22]not obligated to support that this is how you make the distinction

[22:25]it's very simple Islam is not a complicated religion live with Peak

[22:30]Guidance with everyone but don't support something that is not moral and

[22:35]don't let anyone force you to accept it or force your children

[23:30]us because of what they went through in this life and because

[23:36]of the grand compensation of Allah that's your trial don't act upon

[23:40]it as long as you don't act upon those immoral desires you're

[23:44]respected it's not a sin you're not doing anything wrong that's your

[23:49]trial except the trial and ask Allah to help you and we're

[23:54]there to help them that's okay we can have a conversation with

[23:56]them and seek steps to help them to overcome these desires if

[24:02]they cannot overcome them resist them that's your test in Dunya from

[24:05]day one Allah told you in this world I didn't bring you

[24:07]here in this Dunya for you to enjoy yourself for you to

[24:12]follow your desires Allah says I brought you in this Dunya for

[24:16]a purpose it's a trial it's a trial work on higher goals

[24:20]achieve spirituality be prepared for the Akra that's your goal worship Allah

[24:26]don't get caught up with your desires why does Allah mention the

[24:32]story in the Holy Quran he was a scholar whose do I

[24:37]was accepted but he fell why he followed his desire this is

[24:44]the point on homosexuality and the practice of it let's now move

[24:49]to the second point which is gender fluidity today there's Mass confusion

[24:53]about gender today there are many people and they have powerful lobbies

[24:59]supporting them they're telling you gender is not binary man woman boy

[25:03]girl Society invented that it's socially constructed it's a social construct what

[25:08]if you look at your DNA you look at your genes does

[25:13]it tell you you're a boy or a girl man or woman

[25:14]yeah it tells you your sex male or female xxxy but it

[25:18]doesn't tell you you're a man or a woman that's something you

[25:22]you can choose you feel trapped in the wrong body go and

[25:26]switch your gender that's fine that's okay this is all socially constructed

[25:30]Society has come up with this binary your genes don't have this

[25:38]binary it's all socially constructed so I can challenge that I can

[25:42]be free I can choose whatever gender I want and I will

[25:44]impose it on your children to choose whatever they want this is

[25:50]the challenge that we're experiencing today we have a problem with that

[25:54]my dear brothers and sisters we challenge that and we're having a

[25:57]civilized discussion we're not here to fight and this is not about

[26:02]politics my discussion today has nothing to do with politics what party

[26:06]says what this is a moral discussion Imam Hussain is the source

[26:10]of morality We Gather here to learn from the Imam what to

[26:14]do if there's something wrong how to appropriately challenge it we challenge

[26:17]this in order for us to better understand why this is not

[26:26]an acceptable argument apply the same idea to race and ethnicity someone

[26:31]who's white or black Asian Indian South American whatever they are is

[26:39]it rain in their genes that you're white or black show me

[26:43]one scientist who will take your DNA and tell you your DNA

[26:47]says you're white it says you're African-American you and they will tell

[26:52]you who you're related to which geography you came from but it

[26:56]doesn't tell you DNA tells you or white or you're a Latino

[27:03]it's also socially constructed but does it mean that now that it

[27:11]is socially constructed I do away with it and I disrupt the

[27:13]entire system and the world order how absurd would that be if

[27:19]you could choose your race imagine I wake up in the morning

[27:21]you know what today I feel like I'm white no today I

[27:25]feel like I'm Latino I feel like I'm black you see the

[27:30]absurdity of such an argument apply the same to the gender discussion

[27:38]imagine if you go to U of M and Arbor you're trying

[27:42]to apply when there was affirmative action I know the Supreme Court

[27:46]took it down but when there was affirmative action they had a

[27:50]program where they wanted to empower minorities and races that were basically

[27:54]oppressed over centuries right so let's say you go and you apply

[28:00]and you write on the application I'm African-American I'm black and then

[28:04]you go to the you know Admissions Office they're like um excuse

[28:07]me you know what are you doing here I thought you're African-American

[28:10]yeah I feel like I'm African-American who are you to stop me

[28:14]stop me I'm going to sue you if we want to play

[28:20]like this the world is going to fall apart Habibi you want

[28:23]to play that like that in your house it's a free country

[28:27]don't impose it on me don't impose it on my kids don't

[28:29]confuse my children and confuse my sphere do whatever you want I

[29:24]us Allah created men and women and he gave us laws that

[29:30]apply to men and women you want to tamper with that go

[29:33]and tamper with that it's between you and God don't impose it

[29:36]on me don't bully me to accept it don't threaten me and

[29:42]my children to accept that you accept whatever you want you're free

[29:45]in this Dunya but do not impose that on my family on

[29:51]my children and confuse them you know what's really striking about this

[29:56]gender fluidity discussion the gender identity and especially with gender conversion therapy

[30:03]that's being imposed on children children today in many states like New

[30:09]York a child a 15 year old child a 13 year old

[30:15]child a teenager right they're not even children they're teenagers in New

[30:20]York you cannot get a tattoo if you're under 18.

[30:23]recently a mother in New York was convicted because she took her

[30:30]ten-year-old son and she got a tattoo for him she got convicted

[30:36]the tattoo artist got convicted to and the American Pediatric Association supported

[30:39]that yes this is a child what are you doing you can't

[30:45]put a needle on a child they're not 18 yet let them

[30:49]be 18 then they could decide for themselves subhanallah the same Pediatric

[30:53]Association that supports this tells you but if the child feels trapped

[30:59]in the wrong body go and mutilate their body and get a

[31:02]sex change a gender change and in some states well that parental

[31:06]consent there are some states a 13 year old child can go

[31:11]to a clinic and have their gender reassigned Mom and Dad have

[31:16]no clue mom and dad did not even authorize that gave you

[31:20]the right to do that to my child you want to do

[31:25]it to your child don't I encourage you not to but that's

[31:29]your jurisdiction but to enforce that on me and my children on

[31:32]what basis do you do that what are the consequences of that

[31:38]you know what happens to a lot of these children my dear

[31:40]brothers and sisters I'm not asking you to take my word you

[31:42]go and research this online see what happens after gender conversion they

[31:47]don't tell you that these lobbies they don't tell you what happens

[31:53]afterwards they act like they're Heroes we save these kids trapped in

[31:56]the wrong bodies who are depressed and suicidal and they have psychological

[31:59]issues and like Heroes we save the day did you what happens

[32:04]next can I see the second scene don't show me the first

[32:07]scene let me see the second scene I need to know today

[32:11]there are many Muslims who support this I'm being very honest with

[32:14]you and let me say this with openness my dear brothers and

[32:18]sisters I'm speaking to you as a brother I'm not here to

[32:58]ruin someone's life on the day of judgment I am responsible before

[33:03]Allah scientific studies let's not talk religion right now just look at

[33:09]the scientific studies do you know many children who go through gender

[33:11]conversion therapy many of them they end up worse with worse depression

[33:19]and some of them become suicidal you know there are some teenagers

[33:23]who are suing the clinics that changed their gender recently in California

[33:30]a Girl by the name of Layla Jane at age 12 she

[33:35]went to a clinic and they gave her puberty blockers testosterone they

[33:40]cut up her body they mutilated her body then later she realized

[33:47]this was the worst decision in her life she says I went

[33:49]through hell when they did that when they put all that testosterone

[33:55]in my body I went through hell now she's going to sue

[37:21]yes we say the sin is wrong but we don't even judge

[37:25]the people we don't even act like we're better than them you

[37:27]know the beauty of the teachings of Elizabeth the beauty of Islam

[37:31]is that even if there's someone who's committing a sin in society

[37:37]don't judge them and say I'm better than them we don't even

[37:42]do that a man comes he says there is a person who

[37:45]commits sins lives a sinful lifestyle I'm a man I don't live

[37:52]that lifestyle can't I at least say I'm better than this person

[37:55]Imam says no don't compare yourself he told him why I don't

[38:02]understand how does this work the Imam told him how do you

[38:03]know this person one day will not repent and Allah will forgive

[38:08]him all his sins and one day God forbid maybe you'll deviate

[38:11]do you have such guarantee then the Imam gives him the example

[39:09]your house except when you go outside and you see people except

[39:14]that you see everyone as being potentially better than you the Imam

[39:19]says this is the Adam of a movement everyone out there I

[39:24]see in society I say maybe they're better than me how do

[39:26]I know why should I judge them we're not having this discussion

[39:32]to judge anyone we're not having this discussion to fight with anyone

[39:35]to put a fight with anyone we're having this discussion to hold

[39:41]on to our moral grounds and not let anyone take that from

[39:43]us and we have to work as a community to achieve that

[39:48]it's difficult it's very challenging but it's possible and again this is

[39:52]not political we're not siding with any party here this is not

[39:56]a political discussion it's a moral discussion that we hold on to

[40:00]because that's the message of Imam Hussain he came to reform our

[40:07]souls ourselves our lives and and our societies that's the beauty of

[40:13]the majority when you come to the images of Imam Hussain truly

[40:19]your heart transforms we're all sinful we all need the Forgiveness of

[40:23]Allah and we ask Allah to forgive us we're all sinful who

[40:28]isn't who here doesn't have a sin is here to give us

[40:33]hope never lose hope Allah will give you another chance just like

[40:38]Allah gave another chance the sin had committed none of you have

[40:42]committed believe me he literally stopped Imam Hussain from going to kufa

[40:48]he put Terror in the hearts of the children of Imam Hussain

[40:52]can you imagine what kind of sin is that Imam Hussain is

[40:56]the Imam of your time but he came with sincerity on the

[41:01]last day of his life the last hour of his life I

[41:03]regret it I regret it I really want to repent I'll fix

[41:09]it will you accept me imagine your daughters have been terrorized can

[41:15]you accept that the Imam Ali salaam told him yes if you

[41:19]repent Allah will accept your forgiveness tonight we have come to your

[41:27]imagines we all have our sins but we ask Allah to forgive

[41:35]be good because we have an Imam like you because we don't

[41:39]want to disappoint an Imam like you don't send my dear brothers

[41:46]and sisters don't avoid sinning because you fear hell and fear punishment

[41:50]that's one stage when you have an Imam like Imam Hussain who

[41:56]sacrificed by him he sacrificed for your guidance why should you sin

[42:04]why I feel ashamed before my Imam to disappoint him when he

[42:08]had to go through all those trials on the day of Ashura

[42:10]the majors of Imam Hussain is about the purification of the heart

[42:16]it's about cleansing This Heart from sins on the day of judgment

[42:24]your biggest Capital your biggest asset is to go to Allah with

[42:27]a pure heart there is time regardless of what you have done

[42:32]in your life you can start fresh right now because you have

[42:37]the most merciful Lord and the best Imam the best guide is

[42:43]every night when he was in kufa in Masjid al-kufa in his

[42:49]where he'd pray every night your Imam would cry he would remember

[42:54]the day of judgment Allah is merciful but the path is not

[42:57]easy life is serious the day of judgment is serious every single

[43:04]night he would cry he would ask Allah for safety oh Allah

[43:10]give me safety on that day let's hear these words coming directly

[43:14]from your Imam what did Imam Ali salaam ask for every single

[43:18]night he would say this and he would cry Allah I ask

[43:31]you for safety for Amman for what for which day is on

[43:49]that day nothing will help you no children no wealth no money

[43:55]no power nothing's going to help you except what one thing what

[43:58]is it Allah says except if you go to Allah with a

[44:10]pure heart purify the heart from sins that is your best asset

[44:13]on the day of judgment on Yahoo mail tomorrow give me safety
