[12:32]recitation so let's welcome brother mustaf Witham [Music] B [Music] [Music] [Music]
[14:27]in yeah [Music] yeah well that [Music] [Music] in the [Music] [Music]
[16:39][Music] [Music] the [Music] [Music] in in [Music] well for [Music] [Music]
[18:26][Music] [Music] in the name of Allah the most compassionate the mer
[18:47]the most merciful oh you who have attained faith do not proceed
[18:55]ahead of Allah and his messenger and be mindful of Allah in
[18:59]indeed Allah is all hearing all knowing oh you who have attained
[19:08]faith do not raise your voices above the voice of the prophet
[19:10]and do not speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to
[19:16]one another lest your Deeds be nullified while you are [Music] unaware
[19:20]indeed those who lower their voices before Allah's messenger those are the
[19:26]ones whose Hearts Allah has tested for mindfulness for them is forgiveness
[19:31]and a great reward indeed those who call you from behind the
[19:37]chambers most of them do not reason had they remained patient until
[19:42]you came out to them it would have been better for them
[19:46]but Allah is of forgiving bestowing of Mercy bahman on the behalf
[20:58]of the myc I begin by sending my condolences and welcome you
[21:01]to the mam program and even in the Quran it says in
[21:30]talking about and Hussein so these small letters that we take for
[21:39]granted are all signs of Imam Hussein's Eternal Light who is this
[21:45]Hussein how does he affect us so as we warm up in
[21:49]M mam I ask for you to reflect on these Eternal letters
[21:55]these words and what they mean to us and how they affect
[22:01]us daily now before we begin I have a few announcements to
[22:04]begin our program first and foremost we have nightly programs at 7:30

[23:11]we are still looking for people to come as the spots are
[23:16]being taken very quickly please I I personally went there uh for
[23:18]the first time in the Winter retreat and I can speak from
[23:20]experience and tell you that it's very life-changing we have a thing
[23:26]that say the spiritual aha moment a lot of people are looking
[23:29]for that Spiritual Awakening and they might find it here so I
[23:32]recommend coming here something that I found interesting was they recently had
[23:35]this new thing where they had debates where they would give you
[23:40]a topic and you would have to debate it finally I get
[23:45]to introduce our beloved guest speaker Dr Ali nasah who's a servant
[23:52]of IM Hussein is a dedicated Family Medicine practitioner he is affiliated
[23:58]with the bont hospital in Deerborn and Wayne where he completed his
[24:03]residency in Family Medicine in 2021 Dr nasah earned his medicine degree
[24:06]from the University of Michigan and his board certified in Family Medicine
[24:10]by the American Board of uh Family Medicine he is fluent in
[24:13]Arabic and English he is currently practicing at the family doc clinic
[24:19]and Urgent in care in Dearborn in Dearborn Heights Michigan providing Compassionate
[24:21]Care for his patience please cite fat on behalf of his deceased
[24:27]loved ones and welcome him to the stage with three of your
[24:30]loudest muhammedi Muhammad let's get another Muhammad brothers and sisters I'm going
[25:02]to begin by addressing you guys all as my brothers and my
[25:04]sisters because that's what you are we are one umah we are
[25:10]one community and we live side by side together through bad times
[25:15]through good times through neutral times uh I'm honored to be here
[25:20]to uh help host the third night of muharam along with uh
[25:25]my wonderful wife Hannah and my boys hady and Yousef that are
[25:30]somewhere over here um when I was asked to come up and
[25:34]speak and give a short speech I was asked to talk about
[25:36]what the myyc or the y or the youth group uh has
[25:39]done for me or why it's important for me or why it's
[25:42]important for our community so I want to begin by telling you
[25:48]guys a small story so let's say about half a lifetime ago
[25:52]16 years ago 17 years ago I was a 17-year-old student at
[25:58]foron High School I was attending the my uh the Y uh
[26:01]program and every and it was during Ramadan and every uh night
[26:07]of Ramadan they would do uh like a Quran Jeopardy so in
[26:09]order to be a part of the Quran Jeopardy you would go
[26:12]and uh you would put your name in a raffle and they
[26:17]pull a raffle and then whoever's name got called they got to
[26:20]do the Quran uh Jeopardy and then based on how many questions
[26:22]you got right at the Quran Jeopardy they put all of those
[26:27]in a bucket and at the end of Ramadan they picked one
[26:29]lucky winner to go to Haj right so they finally called my
[26:34]name I was 17 years old I go up to do the
[26:37]Quran Jeopardy they asked me the first question I got it completely
[26:40]wrong so by default I got one ticket so at the end
[26:45]of Ramadan they uh it was the last night and we were
[26:50]all there at the Maya the the Y program and uh they
[26:54]put all the names in the bucket there's like 300 names and
[26:56]they pull one out some people had 60 some people had 70
[27:02]some people had 80 I had one and Subhan Allah God had
[27:04]written for me to go to Haj so at 17 years old
[27:07]they pulled out the name they say I fell on the ground
[27:12]I started crying and from that moment my life was changed and
[27:14]that was because of the Y of course that's because of Allah
[27:20]Allah and the the the generosity of our community that God who
[27:23]gave me this opportunity to go to Hajj so I go home
[27:27]my parents are asleep because you know back then you're out and
[27:29]about they trust you you're at the the ya and I go
[27:32]home I wake up my parents I'm I'm going to Hajj I'm
[27:36]going to Hajj told me go back to bed man go to
[27:37]sleep why are you waking yourself right now so that moment and
[27:44]that opportunity that was given to me really did impact and change
[27:48]the course of my life and it's because of this specific organiz
[27:51]organization the Y which is now the myc that I am who
[27:56]I am today right so this is one thing that's influenc me
[28:00]to be who I am today and that's why my message to
[28:02]all the youth and the people in our community is never forget
[28:06]about where you came so no matter where you where you are
[28:09]in life remember where you started remember your roots when you see
[28:12]these young kids here standing on the stage you know don't get
[28:16]annoyed by them when a mom is praying and Friday prayer and
[28:18]her kids are crying or they're being Restless don't be annoyed by
[28:23]it because that's a future generation we want to raise these kids
[28:25]to feel comfortable in masks because if we don't make them feel
[28:28]comfortable in masks and welcomed in masks they're going to be sitting
[28:33]with people who welcome them and they're not going to be influencing
[28:36]them the way that we want to influence them right so I'm
[28:39]I'm when I see these these young kids here it does it
[28:44]does make me happy I want you guys to always you know
[28:45]motivate them to inspire them to congratulate them to give them kind
[28:50]words and and smile at them um that being said I think
[28:55]let's do something fun they spoke a little bit about uh the
[28:57]retreat that's going on so uh I told I told the brothers
[29:02]at myc how about you know I want a raffle um I
[29:06]think on behalf of uh my family and I and of of
[29:08]course my clinic team uh the family doc Team all the great
[29:12]providers there and the medical assistants we want to give away two
[29:15]uh we want to give away two um trips so if you're
[29:20]between the age of 18 and 35 and you want to go
[29:23]to the retreat just raise your hand they're going to give away
[29:25]some raffle tickets and by the end of the lecture we're going
[29:30]to pull out one one male and one female and uh Haj
[29:32]IMO thank you Haj IMO just said and Haj Daniel Z have
[29:36]just also donated uh another trip so there's going to be three
[29:40]trips given out so Muhammad Muhammad so if you're between the age
[29:54]of 18 and 35 and would like to go on a Muslim
[29:55]youth uh Retreat uh rais raise your hand you guys have to
[30:01]be here at the end of the lecture for uh the raffle
[30:02]and inshallah we're going to we're going to raffle one out okay
[30:07]so raise your hand Muhammad Muhammad we just got another donation for
[30:16]myc retreat trip so we're going to do two male two boys
[30:19]and two girls that's how we're going to do it okay so
[30:24]this this is the example of how a community sticks together and
[30:31]how we stand together and how we grow so inshallah through the
[30:34]myc to the through the continued uh programs and through the leadership
[30:38]of uh say Hassan kazini and the kazini family here uh we
[30:43]will continue to grow our community we will continue to learn together
[30:47]uh and spread good knowledge joy and uh Community all right I
[30:51]think everybody's more excited about the retreat sorry s muhamed muhamad we're
[31:06]going to ask you all to please just raise your hands quietly
[31:09]because we don't want to interrupt the program if you'd like to
[31:13]go on the retreat just raise your hand quietly and we will
[31:16]get raffle tickets to everyone here so I'm not going to take
[31:25]much more time from from you all I want to I want
[31:26]to leave you with the final words is to remember Imam Hussein
[31:33]in everything you do to remember the message and the lessons of
[31:38]carala in every day of your life when we bring these kids
[31:45]here and these youth here but also us our are our superheroes
[31:47]We want our youth we want real role models to look to
[31:54]look up to so when my role model is IM Hussein I
[31:56]know that no matter what what life throws at me I will
[32:01]stand for truth and Justice that I know that no matter what
[32:04]is going on in the world that I know I will stand
[32:09]with truth and Justice we want our youth to look up to
[32:12]Imam Ali we want them to be brave we want them to
[32:16]stand up we want them to be honest we want them to
[32:20]be Scholars we want them to be intelligent we don't want them
[32:23]to look up to Spider-Man and tights right when we have superheroes
[32:26]like Imam Ali IM H IM Hussein say Z say why do
[32:32]we need anybody else so that's why we're here we're here to
[32:39]continue the message of IM Hussein forever and to tell all the
[32:42]tyrants in the world that no matter what you say and do
[32:47]we will always continue that message ofi Muhammad anything else okay so
[33:04]it looks like everybody received their tickets am I supposed to do
[33:10]the next introduction noin just a quick reminder the the stream is
[33:31]also being streamed in the prayer hall for anyone who cannot fit
[33:36]so don't be afraid or worried you can always catch the stream
[33:39]inside the prayer Hall before we begin I would love to introduce
[33:45]our esteemed scholar our esteemed guest first and foremost you may not
[33:50]know this or uh say Ahmed graduated from Forts and high school
[33:52]and then went to study in the hza of K for 15
[33:56]years under a number of prominent Scholars he also taught various courses
[34:01]during his time in the haza he was he has written research
[34:02]papers in the field of Islamic jurist prudence and the science of
[34:06]Hadith amongst on many other things now to begin the program I
[34:11]need you all to welcome say Hassan to the stage with three
[34:14]of your L ofuh muh m yes as [Music] husin yeah Shah
[36:06]may Allah grant us all his Z in this life and his
[36:15]sha in the next life illuminate your hearts and minds and majales
[36:21]with the loudest of salaat for Muhammad and Al Muhammad respected brothers
[36:33]and sisters we mentioned last night that Islam is neither a conservative
[36:46]nor a liberal ideology but rather Islam is an ideology that is
[36:53]based on following the intellect following the intellect and following our conscious
[37:01]rather than following our desires and the traditions of the past and
[37:08]that's why we said Islam is the religion of moderation in the
[37:18]middle the Holy Quran says that we made you Muslims as a
[37:27]moderate Nation so sometimes times following Islam will lead you to aligning
[37:37]with conservatives meaning we will have to adhere and stick to our
[37:45]values and traditions but when always no we said anytime Society deviates
[37:51]from morality and decency this is when we lean conservative why not
[37:59]because of our love for the past but because we follow what's
[38:05]right what our conscious tells us what intellect tells us and teaches
[38:10]us and other times the traditions of our forefathers the Traditions that
[38:19]we grew up with could be the biggest obstacles between us and
[38:24]following the truth between us and doing what's right and I gave
[38:28]the example of the people of Jah the people of Jah rejected
[38:34]on what basis on the basis that we are conservatives that we
[38:39]don't want to change the traditions and the values of our society
[38:44]and of our forefathers even though this is what's very sad even
[38:50]though they acknowledg that what the prophet said make sense in fact
[38:54]there's a story with Abu jahel Abu jahel was the leader of
[39:00]the enemies of the prophet he was the one that incited everybody
[39:05]against his nephew comes to him one day and he tells him
[39:08]yeah I know publicly you say something but between you and me
[39:14]do you really think that this man Muhammad is a liar he's
[39:17]a magician he's a wizard he's all this all these accusations that
[39:24]we are directing towards him Abu jahel here tells him no he
[39:29]tells him I know deep inside me that this man is telling
[39:33]the truth Muhammad because when I listen to the words of the
[39:36]Quran I can tell I can feel that these are Divine words
[39:43]these aren't words that a human being can craft so then his
[39:45]nephew told him so why don't you believe in him he told
[39:50]him I can't believe in him why he said because I'm from
[39:52]this tribe and he's from that tribe and in my tribal system
[39:58]I am not all allowed to pay my allegiance to someone from
[40:01]another tribe so this tribal system was the obstacle between some people
[40:10]and Allah they could not believe inol because they could not let
[40:14]go of the past even though the Quran resonated with them so
[40:20]Islam is a religion of moderation and we mentioned last night that
[40:25]the Shan deceives us many times that's why Allah calls him the
[40:31]he calls him the deceiver Al this is one of the names
[40:33]of the devil of the Shan in the Holy Quran and the
[40:40]Shan my friends has massively stepped up his game in this Century
[40:45]the tactics of the shatan his deceitful methods have become ever so
[40:53]sophisticated and they are just getting more and more sophisticated every single
[40:58]day such that it's hard many times to even spot his deception
[41:06]when human beings were primitive he would use primitive tools and tactics
[41:13]bring an idol tells the human being worship this Idol human beings
[41:18]are sophisticated now the Shan is even more sophisticated so the Shan
[41:25]now has to come up with new ways to misguide us human
[41:29]beings so sometimes he will pose as a liberal a liberal who
[41:37]comes to you to support you when you're weak when you're oppressed
[41:41]and he pretends that he is your ally you think that he's
[41:48]a friend he's an ally there to support you because you are
[41:52]weak and oppressed but the Shan's true motive is to what is
[41:57]to support you now so that he can extract he can extract
[42:04]your support 5 years down the line the Shan is very smart
[42:08]and he's very patient when he plans something he doesn't necessarily see
[42:13]the result the next day sometimes he plants a seed or he
[42:18]plans so that you fall 10 years from now he's patient that's
[42:25]why the Quran says do not follow not the Shan do not
[42:28]follow the steps of the shatan maybe there's a thousand steps until
[42:35]you reach Injustice until you reach evil immorality but the Shayan is
[42:40]patient how old is he he's I don't know a couple maybe
[42:42]20 30 40 50,000 years he has a very long life he
[42:46]knows he's going to be alive till the day of judgment so
[42:50]he has all the time he wants and other times he will
[42:55]come when you're weak and vulnerable he'll come as a liberal to
[42:58]support you to give you to give you the appearance that I
[43:04]a liberal came to help you and thus everything I believe in
[43:10]is good so 20 years 10 years down the line I slowly
[43:13]start to normalize and to accept and believe in everything that that
[43:19]liberal believes in now because he saved me 10 years ago and
[43:25]unfortunately if you just read the statistics the studies it's working here
[43:29]in America every year Muslims in America are becoming more and more
[43:37]accepting of these new social values that we're seeing every single year
[43:44]Muslims are becoming more tolerant and accepting of lgbtq of gender change
[43:52]and all this nonsense now it's slow but it's happening if you
[43:58]read the studies every year there's a 2 3 4 5% increase
[44:03]until it reaches 100% 10 years 20 years 30 years down the
[44:06]line so this is how the Shan my friends deceives us at
[44:12]times I remember recently I heard a story of a girl a
[44:16]girl a Muslim girl who goes to public school high school in
[44:23]one of the more liberal areas in the US so one day
[44:27]in class another girl she starts harassing her and then she gets
[44:33]into a fight with her she pulls off her hijab she pulls
[44:37]off her hijab in class and there's men there's boys the teacher
[44:42]quickly comes to her support she comes to her support and she
[44:49]consoles her and she kicks that girl out of class and eventually
[44:54]she is suspended she's suspended from school because she took off the
[45:02]girl's hijab the next month that same girl that same hijabi she
[45:07]is suspended from school why because next month is pride month and
[45:13]the teacher that liberal teacher had prepared some activity for pride month
[45:19]that they all the students had to engage in this girl says
[45:24]I'm sorry I cannot partake in this I have nothing against these
[45:28]people people but I just don't want to participate in this activity
[45:33]the teacher condemns her and she sends her to the office because
[45:37]she rejects to participate in the pride month ceremony and she's ultimately
[45:44]suspended that same teacher one day is your Defender the other day
[45:49]is your enemy and that's why brothers and sisters we have to
[45:53]be very careful in this life not every body that comes to
[46:00]your Aid to comes to support you is doing it out of
[46:04]their genuiness because they believe in these values if a liberal wants
[46:10]to help a Muslim a Muslim who has been oppressed whose rights
[46:14]had has been taken they have to support the Muslim because they
[46:18]believe in Justice why are you supporting me whoever comes to support
[46:26]you ask him ask him why are you supporting me is it
[46:28]because you genuinely Believe In Justice you genuinely believe that what was
[46:36]done to me was wrong was oppression that's why you're supporting me
[46:39]or are you supporting me for opportunistic reasons so that tomorrow I
[46:44]come and I have to support your doctrines yes if there's Injustice
[46:51]I will come as a Muslim and support anyone who's facing Injustice
[46:54]but I have to come out and accept whatever values that you
[47:00]start coming up with if that is your motive this is deception
[47:04]this is the shatan that's how you know if someone is being
[47:11]Guided by the Shan or not if they use deceptive ways brothers
[47:17]and sisters and this is where IM Hussein Shines My Friends Al
[47:23]IM Hussein is so unique Al IM Hussein was so so great
[47:28]because of his honesty this is one reason obviously because of his
[47:34]honesty because of his Clarity because of his Purity IM Hussein when
[47:44]he declared his Revolution he did not deceive anyone he did not
[47:50]give fake promises to anyone this is the grandson of rasool Allah
[47:54]he's embarking on a revolution and imagine what he could say if
[48:00]you join me I'll make you a minister because I'm going to
[48:03]defeat yazid if you join me we're going to be rich we're
[48:07]going to be powerful Al IM Hussein could have used all of
[48:12]these beautiful fake promises and the Imam knows that at the end
[48:17]of the day that his Revolution is a just Revolution the end
[48:22]is a good end but even when your end is a good
[48:27]end you do not use immoral means to reach your end IM
[48:33]Hussein was very honest with everyone he told them that if you
[48:43]join me most likely you will die most likely you will be
[48:45]killed so if you want to join me toala join me because
[48:51]you believe in my message because you believe in my leadership because
[48:56]you believe in Justice because you oppose Injustice join my Revolution because
[49:03]of that for the value not for what's coming after that that's
[49:07]opportunistic if you join me because I will prevail later and he
[49:15]said this many times my friends when he told everyone that he's
[49:19]going to kufa because he's received so many letters he never gave
[49:26]anyone false deception any false promises before he left Mecca and he
[49:32]headed to Iraq he headed to kufa and he was stopped in
[49:36]carala he gave a very famous speech to everyone people were asking
[49:41]what's going on where are you going what's going to happen what's
[49:47]the message of IM Hussein he gave his powerful message a scholar
[49:53]from about 8900 years ago mentions the sermon of IM Hussein he
[49:58]said these words to everyone he said and just the eloquence of
[50:12]the words of Al IM Hussein just unbelievable he says that death
[50:22]imagine you start your speech trying to mobilize people to come with
[50:25]you to carala to come with you to fight and you start
[50:30]by talking about death okay that's going to pull people back probably
[50:36]that's going to repel people talk about power and wealth and what
[50:41]he starts by talking about death he says that death surrounds the
[50:48]human being like a necklace surrounding the neck of a girl from
[50:54]everywhere it's it will come after you you cannot Escape it you'll
[50:58]either die today or you'll die tomorrow no one's going to live
[51:03]forever this is how he begins a speech to show everyone that
[51:05]he's honest and then he says and he says I miss my
[51:22]forefathers I miss my father I miss my father my grandfather my
[51:29]mother fa my brother Al IM Hassan those that preceded me that
[51:32]died before me I miss them in the same way that y
[51:37]used to miss his son YF so basically he's telling them that
[51:42]death will come after you no matter what and I miss those
[51:44]members of my family that have died and that's why I'm going
[51:50]to carala who's going to join him he didn't care about how
[51:55]many people joined him it wasn't about the quantity it was about
[51:59]the quality and then he said it very clearly he said and
[52:11]then he says as if I can see my fate as if
[52:15]I can see my destiny ahead of me what is it he
[52:18]said as if I can see my body being torn into pieces
[52:22]in the desert of carala he's inviting people to his Revolution by
[52:30]telling them that I can see my destiny my body ripped into
[52:33]pieces after he says all of that he says okay now that
[52:38]you know what's going to happen to me now that you know
[52:44]what's ahead of me he says he says now that you know
[52:56]what's going to happen and where I'm going and what's the end
[53:00]whoever is willing to sacrifice their life for whoever is willing to
[53:07]meet Allah subhanahu wa taala whoever is willing to do the right
[53:13]thing then wait for me tomorrow and I will leave to Iraq
[53:19]tomorrow you know it is said in history in the beginning initially
[53:22]more than a thousand people more than maybe even 2,000 people joined
[53:28]IM Hussein the grandson of but slowly one after the other they
[53:37]started to abandon they started to leave IM Hussein that's why some
[53:41]historians State the reason why yazid s 30,000 why would you send
[53:47]30,000 to kill 72 send a send a thousand send 2,000 because
[53:51]even yazid and IB zad they thought that Hussein the grand son
[53:57]of the Prophet he's probably going to have 10,000 people with him
[54:02]15,000 people with him because they see Hussein through the lens of
[54:07]their own personality personality of deception and fake promises and whatnot but
[54:15]IM Hussein was different and then he sent a letter to his
[54:19]family members Ben hasim he told them it's a oneline two line
[54:25]letter he said this is a message from Hussein the son of
[54:31]to B and then there's four words he says whoever joins me
[54:39]whoever joins me Hussein will be killed our end is shahada martyrdom
[54:44]don't expect anything else we're not going to defeat yazid that's not
[54:50]even why I'm revolting it doesn't matter How It Ends the point
[54:53]is I have to voice my opposition I can't stay silent even
[54:58]if I'm killed the night of Ash he tells his companions tomorrow
[55:03]we're going to be killed are you sure you want to stay
[55:08]you don't want to spare your lives and that's why eventually only
[55:11]72 stayed but those 72 my dear brothers and sisters were the
[55:15]cream of the crop they were the best of the best and
[55:21]IM Hussein he preferred having a few genuine allies and supporters and
[55:28]companions than having many companions that are opportunistic they just want to
[55:34]benefit from you and this goes true for every single person every
[55:38]single one of us if you have one or two genuine friends
[55:42]that's much better than having a thousand friends 50,000 followers on Facebook
[55:47]and on social media who are opportunistic they just befriend you because
[55:53]they want to benefit from you somehow what's the point of all
[56:00]these friends even if they're a million so IM Hussein he was
[56:06]very clear and honest of why he's going to carala why he's
[56:13]going to kufa he was informed byol of everything that would happen
[56:17]so the Shan as I said is stepping up his game sometimes
[56:23]he will deceive us through the liberal and other times he will
[56:26]deceive us through the conservative other times he will deceive us into
[56:32]thinking the conservative is my Ally if it's not the liberal why
[56:37]because the conservative believes in certain beliefs that really excite us Muslims
[56:47]they use certain cards that are very very interesting and exciting for
[56:53]us and all of a sudden we get emotional we get excited
[56:59]and we start blindly following this conservative thinking that yeah this person
[57:04]holds the truth I gave you some examples last night so they'll
[57:08]use this card the ey let's defend the family values card how
[57:16]many poor Muslims they were misled fooled into following conservatives because they
[57:24]use this card to deceive us that we are the Defenders of
[57:33]family values We Are The Defenders of masculinity We Are The Defenders
[57:38]Of Life they call themselves pro-life which is the biggest nonsense I'll
[57:44]get to it they'll use the card of we are against lgbtq
[57:51]we against this gender this new gender phenomenon and they will use
[57:58]this cart to fool you into think oh okay they're my allies
[58:01]because now they're speaking of values that I agree with it's once
[58:07]again the Shan trying to fool you just like he fooled you
[58:09]as a liberal now he's trying to fool you as a conservative
[58:14]but I think this one is a little more shrewd and cunning
[58:18]when the conservative fools you and we have to be very careful
[58:23]brothers and sisters we have to be very careful of these ideologies
[58:28]that are being taught and we shouldn't get caught up with one
[58:36]aspect with one word with one slogan all of a sudden we
[58:40]think that this is the truth this is who I'm supposed to
[58:43]idolize and follow because the shaan my friends is very very very
[58:48]clever he swore to Allah subhah wa taala in the Quran can
[58:55]you imagine someone's audacity he stands for Allah and he swears by
[58:58]the might and glory of God he said I swear by your
[59:10]might and Glory Allah that I will do everything I can to
[59:13]misguide human beings and he's swearing by Allah W I will misguide
[59:17]everyone to hell and he's swearing by Allah this is how serious
[59:25]the Shan is and his animal it towards human beings so one
[59:31]of the tactics of thean is the Quran mentions this is basically
[59:41]when the Shan when the devil when he beautifies our flaws in
[59:46]our eyes when he sugarcoats listen carefully when he sugarcoats our sins
[59:56]such that they seem attractive he'll deceive you into living a life
[60:03]of sin the Quran says thinking that you're a righteous person the
[60:09]Quran says the Quran says do you want to know who the
[60:20]biggest losers are those are the ones who spent their life in
[60:25]the dun trying to do what's good thinking that they were their
[60:28]entire life they were doing good deeds only to know that it
[60:30]was all the shaan misguiding them at least they should have spent
[60:36]their time on the duny on their desires and on their Temptations
[60:39]they spent it on acts that they thought were good but there
[60:43]was only deception of the shatan these are the biggest losers they
[60:48]lost the dun and they lost the so this is one of
[60:52]the tactics of the Shan that we have to be careful of
[60:56]and let me give you a quick example a contemporary example of
[60:58]how the Shan uses tazim the Holy Quran warns us in many
[61:05]verses not to be distracted in this dun by our wealth by
[61:12]your job and by your business numerous verses in one verse he
[61:16]says he says be careful oh believers do not allow your money
[61:34]your wealth or your children to distract you from God God brought
[61:40]you to this world and you have a goal there are objectives
[61:47]that you try to achieve he gave you limited time we came
[61:53]from God and we'll go back to God do not allow your
[62:00]money and your wealth and your children to distract you from God
[62:04]and another verse Allah subhana T praises the righteous human beings there
[62:09]are Traditions say this verse is speaking about what does Allah say
[62:18]about the righteous ones he says the righteous individual is the one
[62:31]who is never distracted by his business by the by have to
[63:00]rethink your whole life your whole trajectory are you on the right
[63:03]path this is what I created you for I created you so
[63:11]that you can create a great we have a d and an
[63:18]so do not let this dun distract you from your next life
[63:21]this is something mentioned in numerous verses in the Quran the the
[63:25]Shan look at how clever he is he takes thinking that being
[63:45]distracted by the dya is a good thing sometimes he will present
[63:50]to us some Concepts that are really just distraction from Allah but
[63:58]he'll sugar sugarcoat it as something good and the example is this
[64:03]the problem of workaholism people that work too much too long their
[64:09]whole life is about their business their whole life is about working
[64:14]their whole life is about how much money they make this is
[64:19]a big problem in this country brothers and sisters it's a big
[64:23]problem in our community as well do you know why because society
[64:28]today has sugarcoated being distracted from Allah has sugarcoated workaholism by labeling
[64:37]it with all these labels that sound good someone who's a workaholic
[64:43]what do people call him oh this person is a dedicated person
[64:47]he's a successful person she's someone who's very ambitious she's a high
[64:54]achiever that's why she's 12 hours in the office office a high
[64:59]achiever an ambitious person will think about their next life as well
[65:03]you know sometimes I attend a funeral I attend a funeral and
[65:09]they asked me to say a few words about the deceased so
[65:15]I asked one of the relatives for example the son can you
[65:17]tell me something about your father a virtue so I can mention
[65:22]it on the member did he have any philanthropy did he for
[65:25]example feed the PO or did he go to Hajj did he
[65:28]did he whatever attend the majalis anything anything I just want to
[65:34]mention something so the poor son thinks Hajj no unfortunately my father
[65:37]didn't go to Hajj did he feed the poor no not really
[65:39]did he go to the Masjid no not really oh he was
[65:43]a hard worker say it he worked 12 hours a day and
[65:48]he left $1 million and they mention that on the MIM I've
[65:51]seen sometimes they'll go on the pulpit and they'll say my father
[65:56]was a hard worker his entire life he spent on his business
[66:00]are you complimenting your father and he did nothing for his how
[66:09]is that a compliment what about his what did he do for
[66:13]his my father instilled in me and my brothers and sisters the
[66:21]importance of working hard and being successful now good for your father
[66:27]that he taught this but why did your father not teach you
[66:29]Allah will ask us brothers and sisters we're parents or we will
[66:33]be parents Allah will ask you okay you taught your son and
[66:35]daughter how to be successful in this life did you teach them
[66:38]how to be successful in the next life no you kept them
[66:43]blind you kept them ignorant and Allah subhana wa tala will tell
[66:47]me so as a good loving parent I should teach them I
[66:51]should guide them into how to be successful in this life and
[66:54]the next life don't tell being a workaholic is good being a
[67:00]workaholic is good if if at the end of the day it's
[67:02]building my if somehow all this work 10 12 hours a day
[67:08]is somehow making the world a better place if I'm using it
[67:13]for philanthropy if I'm giving it if I am investing it for
[67:18]my or else how is that something good but this is the
[67:21]tactic of thean he says so this concept brothers and sisters is
[67:33]that when something evil is presented to you is sugarcoated with something
[67:38]good it seems like it's good but it's not it's just sugarcoated
[67:43]this is a problem brothers and sisters with modern American conservatism muham
[67:52]Muhammad now I'll give you two examples the first example is one
[68:03]of the major main pillars of American conservatism today is their sense
[68:13]of patriotism conservatives Pride themselves in being very patriotic and they boast
[68:24]about it and they're always picking on non-c conservatives and they're criticizing
[68:30]them for not being patriotic enough for not being a good Patriot
[68:35]you can see this all over the news and social media now
[68:43]they present to you this notion of patriotism that seems like it's
[68:52]very good that no one would deny is a good thing love
[68:55]for my country but is it really patriotism or is it something
[69:02]else that is being sugarcoated with patriotism something else that is disguised
[69:08]as patriotism but when you look deeper you find it's not patriotism
[69:12]it's nationalism that's why we have to be careful brothers and sisters
[69:19]as conservative conservative ideas they creep into our community and our young
[69:23]the Muslim young brothers and sisters start believing in them some of
[69:28]them are dangerous because there's deception in them so Islam is not
[69:35]against patriotism in fact Islam supports patriotism but first Define patriotism what
[69:44]does patriotism mean if by patriotism you mean I love my country
[69:49]the Homeland the Earth the soil that I was born on the
[69:54]streets the nice roads with their potholes that I was born on
[69:58]nothing wrong with that if you love the people that you grew
[70:03]up with the people of your country you love them you have
[70:08]compassion towards them you want to help them you want to send
[70:12]money to them whatever this is good this is being a good
[70:17]Patriot there's nothing wrong with this in fact there's a Hadith from
[70:21]IM where he says he says from the nobility of a human
[70:30]being this is a sign of nobility that if you show your
[70:35]Han love affection towards your watan your watan means the place you
[70:44]were born your Homeland wherever you concern this is my home if
[70:48]you have any Hanan any affection and love towards that land or
[70:51]towards the people of that land the Imam says this is a
[70:57]sign that you're a noble person you're a good person and that's
[71:02]why the prophet sallallahu alaih he personally loved his homeland he loved
[71:07]Mecca more than anything and one of the most difficult things that
[71:10]he had to do was the day that he had to leave
[71:14]Mecca he had to flee for his life and as he left
[71:18]he stood and he said I swear by Allah if it wasn't
[71:19]for the fact that I'm forced I'm being forced into Exile or
[71:26]else would kill him in Mecca I would never leave this land
[71:31]of Mecca and the imams of they used to love the city
[71:38]of Medina that's why IM before he was taken by force he
[71:42]was taken toan he went to the grave ofo and he began
[71:46]to cry the narrator says I saw the tears of the Imam
[71:49]come down I asked him what's wrong he said it is so
[71:53]hard for me to leave to detach myself from this city of
[71:58]Medina the city of my fathers and grandfathers because I know I
[72:01]will be I will be lonely in another land so they had
[72:06]love for their Homeland there's nothing wrong with that Islam says this
[72:11]is a good thing and that's why we Muslims brothers and sisters
[72:16]Living in America if we love this country if we love this
[72:23]land this is a sign of nobility remember we're not talking about
[72:27]the government we're talking about the land the land belongs to Allah
[72:32]subhah wa ta'ala all of the earth belongs to Allah these borders
[72:36]and Country these are all man-made so if I like this city
[72:42]I like the state this is a part of Islam a part
[72:47]of nobility nothing wrong with that I shouldn't be ashamed to say
[72:52]that I love Dearborn Dearborn Heights after they fix the poth hold
[72:57]inshallah because fortunately it's not reflecting so well in some other states
[73:01]I love the state of Michigan I love this country of the
[73:06]USA there's nothing wrong with that it's the country that gave me
[73:09]Refuge it's the country that gave me citizenship it's the country that
[73:14]gave me education health wealth it would not be right for me
[73:21]to sit in this country to benefit from its goods and then
[73:25]I disown it yes the government that's a different topic we're not
[73:30]talking about the government but the land having love for this land
[73:35]this is a part of Islam having love for my original land
[73:41]I came from the Middle East I came from Iraq Iran Afghanistan
[73:45]Lebanon Syria and I have a love relationship affection towards my land
[73:52]towards my people this is something that's good there's nothing wrong with
[73:59]that this is patriotism that every single Muslim every single American should
[74:05]feel proud about having but the problem brothers and sisters is when
[74:13]it turn when patriotism turns into nationalism this is when it becomes
[74:19]toxic nationalism means I love my country and only my country and
[74:28]to hell with everybody else see the difference between patriotism and nationalism
[74:32]patriotism I love my country and I can love every other country
[74:38]nationalism I love my country and I don't care about any other
[74:40]country or my country is better than every other country on Earth
[74:44]this is from the Shan the conservatives today Mo most of them
[74:52]brothers and sisters the patriotism that they believe in is American exceptionalism
[74:57]that America is better than all the countries this is wrong this
[75:02]is something that shows utmost arrogance in fact if I really love
[75:10]this country the US and I care about it maybe sometimes I
[75:16]should be ashamed of the history of my government of the crimes
[75:20]that were done by some of the people of this country the
[75:27]racism the slavery that existed in this country that all the Imperial
[75:30]crimes that were happened in the name of this country and if
[75:34]I truly love this country I should say you know what instead
[75:36]of trying to hide it as now conservatives they don't like mentioning
[75:40]the past they don't like mentioning any of these Crimes of the
[75:46]US of the past if you really love your country you should
[75:52]try to change the policies of your country because it's these policies
[75:58]that make other people hate you I should try to stop if
[76:01]I really love the us if I love this land and Country
[76:06]and I want Allah to always keep it a blessed country then
[76:10]I should be one of the greatest supporters to end this genocide
[76:18]in palestin I should be one of the first people on the
[76:25]front lines to request my government to stop supporting that genocide there
[76:30]why does that make me unat that makes me patriotic because I
[76:34]love my country why am I getting myself into all these Dirty
[76:37]Wars these unnecessary Wars and battles but unfortunately when you say something
[76:47]if you start critizing the conservatives right you're unpatriotic your loyalty is
[76:54]to Islam your loyalty is to the Quran your loyalty is to
[76:59]your Arab countries this is deception brothers and sisters there's a Hadith
[77:07]from IM the IM was asked about a concept called is blind
[77:18]tribalism blind nationalism when you believe that your nation is supreme to
[77:23]all others it's a type of Supremacy National Supremacy the IM was
[77:29]asked about this because it seems like during the time of there
[77:33]was also some confusion people were conflating between nationalism asab and patriotism
[77:42]so someone asked about because was condemned by who by people this
[77:53]is my tribe I don't care about anybody else I'll follow them
[77:58]to death even if they're wrong so the prophet is narrated in
[78:02]one Hadith saying that if someone Allah finds a grain of in
[78:06]their heart which is like we said nationalism blind tribalism then Allah
[78:11]will resurrect that person with the of Jah with the people of
[78:17]Jah because they were all about nationalism supremistic ISM and tribalism so
[78:22]IM Z is asked about this word the IM says he defines
[78:30]what it means to be to have nationalism he [Music] says he
[78:44]says that was condemned by the prophet is this that when you
[78:50]see the worst of your people the evildoers you see them better
[78:57]better than good people from other countries and other nations just because
[79:02]he's from my Village he's better than everyone else from all the
[79:06]other Villages even though he's not such a good person even though
[79:08]I know this person commits evil this person is dishonest this person
[79:15]is this no but he's from my Village this is this is
[79:20]what came to abolish and then the IM said but loving your
[79:27]Homeland loving your people this is fine love them help them there's
[79:31]absolutely nothing wrong with this he said what you have to be
[79:39]careful is is when you stand with your people even when they
[79:42]are the oppressors here I have two options I either stand with
[79:49]my people my race or I stand with the truth I stand
[79:55]with Justice if you have an inclination towards your people even though
[80:01]they're the oppressors this is that condemned exactly what's happening right now
[80:09]in Palestine why do many Jewish people support whatever is happening in
[80:14]the state of Israel in the state of Palestine why because they're
[80:19]my people and whatever my people do I'm going to blindly support
[80:24]them even if it's it's clear that it's unjust and not just
[80:28]Jewish people you find many people in the west you see this
[80:33]on TV I see this being said without any shame you know
[80:36]what sometimes they'll say you'll see a debate or a podcast and
[80:41]most of the time it's conservative sometimes it'll be also others they'll
[80:46]talk about the Israel and Palestine conflict and they'll tell you that
[80:52]you know what it's a very complicated situation but but but but
[80:56]you know what we stand with Israel because at least they look
[80:59]like us because at least they believe in democracy because at least
[81:04]they're not against you know civilization they're not against democracy and so
[81:12]on and so forth so wait a minute just because they're your
[81:19]people similar to you similar values similar beliefs you stand with them
[81:24]even though they are the oppressed this is brothers and sisters didn't
[81:31]care where the Injustice was emanating from Injustice and Injustice it doesn't
[81:36]matter where it comes from I stand against it it's from my
[81:38]family it's from my cousin it's from my neighbor it's from my
[81:43]ene wherever Injustice comes from this is where you standing against it
[81:48]and in fact there's a Hadith from an Imam Imad or yeah
[81:55]IM where he tells one of his companions one day he says
[82:08]he says if any human being believes that he is better than
[82:16]someone else because I'm from this country and you're from that country
[82:20]the racism that sometimes exists it's very rampant in this country right
[82:26]it's rampant everywhere in the world if I believe that I am
[82:30]better than someone else because of my lineage because of my Village
[82:34]because of my language because of my traditions whatever it could be
[82:40]the Imam says you are from a from theut are the Arrogant
[82:46]human beings you think of you think of Nam you think of
[82:56]Hitler Saddam netan says you will be from the why does that
[82:59]make you better than that person and Subhan Allah the narrator says
[83:03]but what if that person sins more than me can I believe
[83:07]that I'm better than that person the Imam says no he says
[83:12]why he says because maybe that person's sin will be forgiven and
[83:16]your good deed will not be accepted I'm praying while someone else
[83:20]is committing backbite someone else is backbiting so I have the sense
[83:27]of Pride that I'm better than this person the Imam says even
[83:30]this is wrong because maybe that person will repent and maybe tomorrow
[83:35]you'll deviate maybe Allah subhana T will not accept your am so
[83:39]never think that you're better than anybody else the only criteria that
[83:43]makes anyone better than someone else is TA this is what the
[83:46]Quran says oh human beings we have created you from a male
[83:57]and a female two genders and only two the Quran says and
[84:05]then we made you into Nations and tribes so the different races
[84:11]and ethnicities this was Allah subhana T's work but why did Allah
[84:16]do that so that we so that we become supremacist and we
[84:19]develop nationalism and become racist no so that you know one another
[84:25]so Allah creates some variety so you learn from each other's experiences
[84:30]and differences and then the Quran says the closest to you in
[84:38]the eyes of Allah the best ones are the ones that have
[84:40]piety and piety my friends is in the heart so how can
[84:45]you ever know that you're better than someone else I can never
[84:47]know that I'm better than someone else because I don't know what's
[84:51]in that person's heart so in this way the Imam says keep
[84:58]yourself humble love your land love your people but never think that
[85:02]this makes me this is a criteria that makes me better than
[85:04]other individuals Don't Make Your Love Don't restrict it to only your
[85:13]people unfortunately there's this this problem that we have in our communities
[85:17]that when there's a disaster or there's a problem in my country
[85:21]you find that I I try very hard hard and I'm very
[85:27]affected and I'm very moved to try to help my country the
[85:30]people in my but when it's another Muslim country I could care
[85:33]less I don't even know what's going on in other countries the
[85:37]prophet says the Muslims are like one body one body if there's
[85:41]one part that's suffering the entire body can't sleep you can't say
[85:46]my feet is hurting but my my head isn't hurting so let
[85:48]my head sleep doesn't work that way so Allah subh says that
[85:55]you can be the Quran says you can be patriotic but remember
[86:00]that you this is one you are one um so make sure
[86:10]that you unite as one nation as one um because the more
[86:13]we unite the stronger we will be and the more that we
[86:19]are divided based on race and Country and ethnicity then the weaker
[86:25]we will be and IM Hussein my friends he provides he provides
[86:31]with all this confusion that you see that we talked about the
[86:36]deception of the shatan AL IM Hussein is the beacon of clarity
[86:42]he is that Beacon of Purity he provides that Clarity in our
[86:48]hearts in our minds and this is why when you read and
[86:52]listen to the story of Al IM Hussein everything is so clear
[86:58]when you see what's happening in in it's black and white it's
[87:03]not a complicated situation where do we get this Clarity from and
[87:09]Purity we get it from IM Hussein if anyone finds themselves that
[87:15]it's a complex situation this is the Shan the Shan is the
[87:22]one who deceives brothers and sisters or else the Imam Allah subhanahu
[87:26]wa ta'ala The Messengers The imams they provide that Clarity and maybe
[87:31]perhaps this is just my opinion and perhaps this is why the
[87:39]greatest supporters of the resistance against Zim today are followers of Al
[87:45]IM Hussein think about it brothers and sisters you're either on the
[87:55]the camp of IM Hussein or you're on the camp of yazid
[88:00]the camp of yazid makes so many excuses for not supporting Justice
[88:08]while the camp of IM Hussein Alam unequivocally supports Justice it's clear
[88:16]you can see it very clearly it's not just a coincidence that
[88:26]the resistance is led by followers of Al IM Hussein so you
[88:31]find the impact that IM Hussein has on our lives brothers and
[88:36]sisters and that's why we will always and forever be inted to
[88:42]the m to IM Hussein where would we be without IM Hussein
[88:47]brothers and sisters sometimes I think would I be amongst those Muslims
[88:50]that glorify yazid that glorify mu that try to vindicate and justify
[88:57]anything their government does maybe I would have maybe Allah subhanahu wa
[89:05]taala would have prevented me from that no from that light that
[89:09]provide for us Al IM Hussein did the hard work he sacrificed
[89:16]his blood and his babies and his children and family so that
[89:21]we can receive everything on a gold silver platter so that we
[89:27]can have that Clarity in life and so we will always and
[89:33]forever be indebted to abdah Hussein and that's why it is narrated
[89:44]and attributed to Al IM Hussein sometimes is attributed that the Imam
[89:50]said these lines of poetry when he was alive there there's another
[89:55]tradition that says it was his daughter Su who heard her father
[90:01]as he was on the Sands of carala after he was killed
[90:08]she heard these lines of poetry coming from the body of Al
[90:12]IM Hussein or it it was a poet who wrote these words
[90:19]but either way they do speak of the condition of IM hussein.
[90:22]everything that IM Hussein did for us brothers and sisters like I
[90:28]said we will forever be indebted todah Hussein no matter what we
[90:33]do we will always be indebted to IM Hussein the IM has
[90:36]a a few short Wills for us for his Shia for his
[90:42]followers for those people that are inspired that love Al IM Hussein
[90:45]for every single one of you that come to show your love
[90:49]and passion to IM Hussein you know what the Imam says to
[90:51]us the Imam says she [Music] the Imam says all I ask
[91:19]in return oh my anytime you drink any water remember your IM
[91:25]who was killed remember your IM who was killed thirsty in the
[91:36]land of carbal Imad says every time you drink water remember my
[91:44]grandfather Hussein and ask Allah subhanahu waala to condemn The Killers of
[91:52]my grandfather Hussein for Allah will give you 100,000 Good Deeds for
[91:59]every sip of water that you drink after you remember my grandfather
[92:08]abusin [Music] oh my if you ever hear of someone that was
[92:42]someone that was lonely remember your lonely IM inal who was killed
[92:50]all alone between the enemy my dear brother and sisters if you
[92:55]ever feel lonely if you ever feel like no one cares about
[93:00]you at least know that when you if a day comes that
[93:07]you die someone will definitely come to do the washing on your
[93:10]body someone will definitely come to put that kein around you someone
[93:19]will definitely come to bury your body the true G is Hussein
[93:26]even after he was killed his body remained for three days on
[93:32]the Sands ofala no one asked about him no one cared and
[93:39]bothered to go and cover the body of abdah even when there's
[93:45]a crime scene the first thing they do they place a cover
[93:48]on that body they took all the wom and the orphans as
[93:53]they were taking them out of and they forced them to see
[94:00]all those mutilated bloody bodies of the sh ofal it's reported in
[94:06]IM he used to hear sometimes in the city someone saying I
[94:12]am I'm lonely I'm a stranger please help me he used to
[94:16]go to that lonely person he used to tell him you're lonely
[94:18]he says yes he says I ask you if you die will
[94:22]the Muslims bury you he says of course of course I'm not
[94:27]that much of a stranger he used to say the is my
[94:31]father Hussein who did not even receive a proper burial and then
[94:41]the Imam says and if you ever hear of the of someone
[94:50]that was killed then remember your IM say if we ever lose
[94:56]a loved one brothers and sisters and this is very difficult may
[95:00]Allah subhanahu wa taala protect all your loved ones but if a
[95:06]day comes in which I lose the loved one they die because
[95:08]of an accident or a disease then know at least their horses
[95:14]will not trample the body of your deceased and loved ones know
[95:18]that they will receive a proper respectful burial as for the son
[95:29]of fa his body was trampled by 10 horses until they crushed
[95:33]his bones into pieces tonight we will dedicate the to Lady zus
