[0:01]respected brothers and sisters first and foremost I'd like to thank the
[0:11]myc for having me here today and for doing me the disservice
[0:17]of having to speak after a distinguished and esteemed speaker and say
[0:20]Muhammad Bak kazini um now I have to try and carry the
[0:25]torch after the respected scholar say Muhammad who I've personally benefited a
[0:31]lot from so inshallah for his reward and for all the work
[0:36]that he has done let us recite Muhammad we are coming towards
[0:47]the end of Shah Ramadan and it is a Bittersweet feeling anytime
[0:53]we come towards the end of Shah Ramadan because we have gotten
[0:59]used to and we have gotten accustomed to these nights where we
[1:03]break bread together where we come and supplicate with one another where
[1:09]we see the community and other in other given months we don't
[1:13]really see the community like we do in this month and most
[1:18]and foremost Allah subhah wa ta'ala has promised us many different things
[1:21]during this month so it's definitely difficult to Bid Farewell to Shah
[1:28]Ramadan especially knowing that there is no guarantee for us that if
[1:32]we conclude this month there's no guarantee that we will be alive
[1:36]for the next year and to be able to witness that month
[1:41]and be able to live through that month where our breathing is
[1:44]T our sleep is worship and so on and so forth from
[1:49]the sermon of s so as we are bidding farewell to this
[1:56]month it is essential that we take something with us and we
[2:02]don't treat this Shah Ramadan like any other Shah Ramadan that has
[2:08]passed before we have to take something with us and the Holy
[2:13]Quran they teach us that the best provision for one to take
[2:19]on their Journey to the next life is tawa is God Consciousness
[2:22]so we have to look around and see what is it that
[2:28]we have benefited from especially because after shahad you guys all know
[2:32]and I know very well all everything changes everything goes back to
[2:36]normal we no longer have these type of environments around the community
[2:40]so sometimes it can be a little bit difficult to maintain that
[2:43]kind of momentum and energy of faith and spirituality so we need
[2:49]something to keep us going so I'm thinking about what to discuss
[2:56]on this night you know and especially since it's the last program
[3:00]I thought it is befitting to talk about some of the themes
[3:05]of one of the supplications that is recited during this nights it
[3:12]is mentioned that IM used to recite du nightly in the month
[3:22]of Ramadan not just on the nights of it's mentioned nightly that
[3:28]Dua is extremely powerful if you have not sat with yourself by
[3:35]yourself and reflected upon the words of that Dua then I urge
[3:43]you tonight when you go home while we're still in the month
[3:49]of Ramadan or tomorrow you still have like two or three more
[3:52]nights to do that Dua Hamza is therapy for the one who
[3:59]seeks therapy Dua AB Hamza serves in a capacity that you won't
[4:05]even believe IM because it is mentioned that the Imam taught this
[4:11]to AB hamali and it is titled after the companion just like
[4:19]du is Du was taught by and so that the content of
[4:27]this Dua what it doeses mentions invocat to to Allah subhah wa
[4:32]ta'ala first and foremost one of my favorites and one that I
[4:38]feel like is essential for us to listen to during these nights
[4:43]is to always maintain hope in Allah subhah wa ta'ala I think
[4:46]each and every one of us have probably experienced a time in
[4:52]life where we thought there's no point in having hope Allah subhah
[4:57]wa ta'ala is not going to accept my rep repentance I've gone
[5:05]too far I've been to places that are unimaginable what does Allah
[5:09]want with someone like me Allah wants someone who is always practicing
[5:13]24/7 on top of all their prayers on top of all their
[5:19]fasts always always dressed in hijab Allah wants someone like that and
[5:23]then who am I I'm not I don't fit that criteria so
[5:27]might as well just give up can you imagine if Allah subhah
[5:34]wa ta'ala did not bless us with repentance in which after we
[5:38]stray away from him there's no means of coming back what kind
[5:44]of mentality would we be encouraged to have if there was no
[5:50]repentance think about it there's no repentance you commit many types of
[5:55]sins there's no coming back for you it's only going to get
[6:00]worse right it's going to be like a Snowball Effect you get
[6:02]yourself into one bad habit two bad habits there's no incentive for
[6:08]you to come back at this point it's done for me as
[6:10]some people you know joke even though they shouldn't be joking about
[6:14]something like this they'll joke and they'll say that my place in
[6:18]hell is already reserved I know where I'm heading as if it's
[6:22]something light to speak about Allah subhah wa ta'ala blessed us with
[6:28]something called repentance this brings me to the first part of Dua
[6:34]IM he teaches in the Dua one of the segments he says
[6:56]this line that Imam says it really pierces the heart the Imam
[7:01]says is like an expression of remorse for what your book has
[7:08]accumulated from my actions everything that I have done then the Imam
[7:14]teaches us and if it wasn't for these three things then I
[7:17]would have lost hope the Imam is validate giving us validation in
[7:20]validating our emotions but then he's telling us listen you can you
[7:28]may have a tendency to become sparing in Allah's Mercy but there
[7:32]are three things that I'm going to remind you of the Imam
[7:38]first mentions Allah is Allah is generosity then he mentions his vast
[7:44]Mercy then he mentions Allah specifically specifically commands and orders us not
[7:55]to lose hope in him so Allah's generosity Allah vast mercy and
[8:04]Allah's command towards us his creation to not lose hope in him
[8:08]and that Allah subhana wa tala as mentioned in the Quran the
[8:24]other day just to translate the verse Allah says oh my servants
[8:32]and this verse is especially this beginning part is very beautiful because
[8:36]the scholars mention notice how Allah doesn't just say sometimes Allah says
[8:41]oh you people oh those who believe here Allah is saying neither
[8:51]he's saying my servants my servants the one who return back to
[8:55]me you know when you you know when you own something and
[8:59]and you love it so much and you're like this is my
[9:02]book this is my vehicle this is my loved one and so
[9:08]on and so forth Allah is saying in this verse he starts
[9:10]it off already in a way where he attracts us to him
[9:16]and he says say oh Prophet tell them that oh servants the
[9:20]ones who have been not just sinning lightly extravagant in sinning as
[9:26]much as sinning as one can think do not lose hope in
[9:35]the mercy of Allah Allah forgives all sins the other day one
[9:39]of the brothers came up to me may Allah bless him and
[9:43]he was asking me does Allah forgive all sins I told him
[9:46]that's what Allah says in the Quran Allah says in Arabic means
[9:54]collectively all sins it's very difficult sometimes to grasp that especially when
[10:00]you feel like you've strayed way too far and you're battling yourself
[10:07]also recently a family friend tells me there's someone that wants to
[10:14]discuss Islam with you and I told him you know let us
[10:16]discuss this individual calls me and tells me he's of a different
[10:21]faith and he opens up to me about some of the things
[10:25]that he has committed in his life things that are difficult honestly
[10:30]quite frankly very difficult to come back from just on a psychological
[10:37]level and he told me remember he's of a different Faith he
[10:39]told me I went to someone to the person of my faith
[10:43]and they told me I'm pretty much doomed so I have nowhere
[10:49]to go basically you know so he's telling me what do you
[10:53]guys say I told him you know the actions that you mentioned
[10:58]those are actions that are prohibited islamically but Allah subhah wa ta'ala
[11:04]does mention the verse that I recited Allah mentions that those who
[11:09]have been extravagant do not lose hope for Allah forgives all sins
[11:15]but we have to be truthful with Allah subhah wa ta'ala we
[11:21]can't just do lip service and say to Allah Ya Allah and
[11:25]then later fall back to the same mistakes it's okay sometimes you
[11:31]do fall back in the same habit that you've created sometimes you
[11:36]try to get yourself out of a certain habit you fall back
[11:38]you do that on and off on and off for a very
[11:43]long time that's fine as long as your intention though is to
[11:48]leave it because you know yourself very well is your intention to
[11:52]leave this specific habit or do you know deep down in your
[11:55]heart that I'm going to return to this habit of mine if
[11:59]you know know that then you're not being truthful in your repentance
[12:03]and repentance has conditions mentions them repentance has conditions one of which
[12:10]is to be sincere and to really make the intention and try
[12:13]to have the willpower to not go back to whatever it is
[12:18]you have committed now Allah subhana wa ta'ala if you were to
[12:21]ask me the system that Allah has put in place for us
[12:25]do you guys think it is a system made for you and
[12:31]I here today to succeed and reach salvation in or do you
[12:38]think it's a system in which we are ultimately doomed as that
[12:42]brother told me on the phone call let's see let's see a
[12:48]show of hands if you think Allah subhah wa ta'ala has made
[12:50]the system for you to succeed raise your hand mashallah most most
[12:56]people if not all does anybody believe the opposite that it is
[13:01]made for you to fail I don't think anyone's going to raise
[13:06]their hand especially when the majority um voted in one way I'm
[13:12]going to remind you of certain things to prove to us all
[13:16]that Allah subhana tal honestly wants us to succeed first of all
[13:25]in Dua abam the IM teaches us that oh Allah I do
[13:28]not rely on my salvation reaching salvation on my own actions rather
[13:36]I rely on you that is so beautiful and profound when you
[13:43]think about it it's no longer about who I am and what
[13:45]actions I commit even though obviously every action you do as the
[13:49]Quran mentions you will see on the day of judgment it's Allah
[13:54]subhana wa tala's generosity that will get us to where we need
[13:59]to be that's one two Allah subhana wa ta'ala mentions in the
[14:05]Quran when you do a good deed Allah subhah wa ta'ala rewards
[14:12]you for it tenfold tenfold meaning 10 times extra when you do
[14:14]that when you commit a bad deed it's only written once so
[14:21]the ratio is what 10:1 Allah subhana wa ta'ala has already given
[14:26]you the advantage that if you technically technically I'm not saying this
[14:32]is how it works so nobody go and quote me on this
[14:34]and and apply this into their daytoday life but if you want
[14:38]to do one good deed you'll need to do 10 to basically
[14:42]create equality between them but of course we do know that in
[14:48]the Traditions it is mentioned that the lightest of sins is the
[14:52]one that we take lightly so we have something called greater sins
[14:57]in Islam such as doing sh uh ironically losing hope in Allah
[15:03]subhana wa ta'ala is one of the greater sins um and so
[15:07]on and so forth there's many greater sins and then there are
[15:10]those that they consider not as big sins but still nonetheless sins
[15:16]that one should not be committing otherwise it taints the heart of
[15:21]the human being so one good deed is counted as tfold whereas
[15:25]one bad deed is counted as one Allah subhana wa ta'ala more
[15:32]than that he rewards us for the intention of the good deed
[15:35]if I intend on these beautiful nights to give sodak which we
[15:40]all should try to remember because I know sometimes we forget it's
[15:45]easy to forget but especially these nights to give because of what
[15:50]we are taught about so giving good giving sodaka such good deeds
[15:58]if I just intend to do it Allah subhana taala rewards me
[16:03]for it and if I was to intend to do something that
[16:08]is Haram but I don't actually do it that bad deed is
[16:12]not written for me so just the intention of doing good you
[16:14]get the reward of it and just the intention of doing bad
[16:18]you don't get the consequence of it of it being written against
[16:22]you until you actually do it muhami muham sometimes when we lose
[16:41]hope brothers and sisters it has to do with our own actions
[16:44]and we mentioned some of these points and there's more to mention
[16:51]such as Allah mentions in the qur so there are those that
[16:58]we have mentioned already and then there's more Allah has giving us
[17:03]more from his vast Mercy he says to us that not only
[17:07]am I going to suffice you with what I've given you also
[17:11]the Good Deeds remove the bad Deeds so it's as if you're
[17:18]converting your bad Deeds what kind of Mercy is this that Allah
[17:21]subhana wa taala blesses us with sometimes we don't lose hope in
[17:28]our own actions but we lose hope in something we are seeking
[17:31]we lose hope in a Dua that we have asked Allah subhah
[17:36]wa ta'ala for a very long time yeah Allah I ask you
[17:40]for one two three and I've been asking you for years and
[17:42]years and I still haven't gotten what I have asked for you
[17:48]from you in this situation it's very easy for us to lose
[17:51]hope Shan would love for us to lose hope quite frankly a
[17:57]few points to remember here number one when our sinning plays a
[18:04]role sometimes in the delay of the Dua that we make to
[18:06]Allah subhah wa tala so when I'm asking Allah for something but
[18:12]yet I show Allah that oh Allah I know you have given
[18:14]me all these blessings you have given me the ability to come
[18:18]to the mask you have given me the ability to sit and
[18:20]listen to the lecture tonight you have given me the ability to
[18:24]see and you have given me so many other abilities that I
[18:26]can sit and talk about for a very long time yet sometimes
[18:34]when we focus on that which we want we lose sight of
[18:40]that which we already have and when we focus so much on
[18:43]that which we want that we we don't have Shan can creep
[18:48]into our hearts and convince us that Allah subhana wa ta'ala doesn't
[18:52]want to accept our Dua and if Allah doesn't want to accept
[18:55]our Dua we can get to a point of losing complete hope
[18:59]and feeling like it's done for us so if we are about
[19:04]to reach that kind of level number one we have to look
[19:08]at ourselves am I committing some type of sin that would cause
[19:11]my Dua to be restricted and if you guys recall Dua K
[19:15]mentions something like that Dua becoming restricted becoming confined because of our
[19:22]own actions so first and foremost I have to look at myself
[19:26]am I praying all the prayers cuz Haram is not only that
[19:32]which is Haram in the sense that Haram doesn't mean the actions
[19:36]that I cannot do to be more clear Haram also means the
[19:40]actions that I have to do but I'm not doing so there's
[19:44]two different types there's the type where for example it's Haram for
[19:48]me to eat pork it's Haram for me to drink alcohol it's
[19:51]Haram for me to do one two three but then it's also
[19:53]Haram for me to not pray it's it's also Haram for me
[19:59]to not observe hijab it's also Haram for me not to pay
[20:05]if I have to pay and so on and so forth this
[20:07]relationship that we have with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala we have to
[20:13]be mindful of it and we have to reassess what it is
[20:18]that we are doing on a day-to-day basis and then look at
[20:21]why Allah subhah wa taal is not answering my Dua and Dua
[20:28]Hamza the IM teaches us he says oh Allah and then the
[20:36]Imam says a beautiful line honestly it's I can't say it's my
[20:38]favorite because the whole Dua is probably my favorite but then he
[20:55]says Imam says oh Allah an angel still comes to you and
[21:06]gives you the news of all the bad that we are doing
[21:07]and our bad is rising up to you and your good is
[21:13]descending to us and the Imam says yet still that does not
[21:16]stop you from encompassing us from your blessings from your mercy you
[21:24]still show us love you still show us gentleness you still show
[21:28]us all these beautiful things that our Lord shows his creation so
[21:32]that's why then the IM says glory be to you how great
[21:40]are you how forbearing are you how forgiving are you Ya Allah
[21:43]despite all that that I am doing you still look at me
[21:48]and you still give me you don't deny me because of my
[21:57]evil doings you allow me to repent you allow me to come
[22:01]back to you the IM says the Imam says all praise be
[22:12]to the one who makes himself endearing and loving to me even
[22:17]though he's sufficient he doesn't need me when you and I look
[22:20]at the relationships we have today sometimes it's transactional right sometimes not
[22:28]all the time sometimes there's a benefit for you there's a benefit
[22:31]for me sometimes it's selfless in the case of like a mother
[22:35]the mother she gives from all that that she has for the
[22:41]sake of her children and honestly it's probably one of the greatest
[22:45]signs of Allah subhah wa ta'ala the mercy a mother has towards
[22:48]her children can you imagine any human being that is willing to
[22:55]sacrifice their whole existence there's nothing more beloved to a than their
[23:00]existence and the evidence is that put anybody in a situation where
[23:06]they might be losing their life and see how they react they're
[23:09]going to try by all means necessary to hold on to life
[23:15]a mother if she sees her young ones in a difficult situation
[23:22]in a dangerous situation she is willing to sacrifice her own life
[23:26]for the sake of those children she's a human they're a human
[23:32]yet there's something inside her by he mentions to him he comes
[23:42]to the IM and he says oh Imam I have been asking
[23:44]Allah subhah waala for many years Dua and he has not accepted
[23:53]it and I feel like Shan is creeping into my heart because
[23:55]of it the first thing that IM tells him is be careful
[24:00]do not let Shan creep into your heart and create that doubt
[24:04]and then that doubt lingers and it creates Havoc for you in
[24:11]your heart the IM then told him I heard Imam say that
[24:16]Allah subhah wa taala when the servant supplicates to him sometimes Allah
[24:26]subhah wa ta'ala likes to hear their Dua sometimes Allah delays giving
[24:33]the person because he likes to hear their Dua and sometimes he
[24:36]gives someone in a hasty manner because he does not like to
[24:38]listen to their Dua like just give this person and get them
[24:43]get them away from me type thing but the ones that Allah
[24:46]loves he says it's mentioned in the Hadith that sometimes Allah loves
[24:52]to listen to certain servants and then sometimes Allah gives you to
[24:56]what is beneficial for you how many times brothers and sisters have
[24:59]we asked Allah for something and then we didn't get it but
[25:04]later you know once we've once we've grown a little bit older
[25:06]we've become a little bit more wiser you're like you know I
[25:10]think I can see the wisdom behind not getting what I asked
[25:15]Allah for you probably don't ask Allah for the same things you
[25:19]asked Allah for five years ago you probably had totally different interests
[25:23]you were into different things your priorities could have been different so
[25:29]imagine Allah gives everyone every time they asked him for something imagine
[25:34]a teenage kid who is 18 years old just graduated high school
[25:42]he asks Allah give me the fastest car in the universe what
[25:44]do you think what do you think his mom's Dua is going
[25:49]to be if she listens to that Dua yeah Allah please don't
[25:51]do that for him it's going to be the complete opposite why
[25:57]because she has wisdom she has more experience she these things differently
[26:00]and this is a mother we're talking about imagine Allah subhah wa
[26:04]tala imagine Allah the one who created us the one who time
[26:09]does not confine him Allah is not confined within time so everything
[26:14]he basically sees from your your beginning of your life to the
[26:19]end of your life he knows exactly what's going to happen to
[26:21]you so if a mother will counter her son's Dua think about
[26:27]Allah subhah wa tala and we have in the Traditions that Allah
[26:30]sometimes he doesn't give for your own benefit sometimes he delays giving
[26:35]and he'll give you in the here after and we are encouraged
[26:42]to make Dua always even for the smallest of things and this
[26:45]is something even I honestly I'm guilty of it that sometimes we
[26:52]lose sight of this Allah tells musth oh mus ask me even
[26:55]for the sustenance for your animals imagine he's a the shepherd He
[26:58]has animals even those animals that you want to feed their sustenance
[27:06]which is probably simple for you all you got to do is
[27:08]go outside find sustenance for them bring it back to them and
[27:13]feed them even that Allah says ask me for it oh mus
[27:16]that creates a relationship with Allah subhah wa ta'ala that is unmatched
[27:21]if we can get ourselves to always ask Allah subhah wa ta'ala
[27:25]then what happens is we we' built a habit in which first
[27:32]we're always remembering Allah subhana wa ta'ala now we literally can be
[27:38]more God conscious CU Anytime I want to do something I ask
[27:43]Allah subhana wa tala to give me to do it and then
[27:48]after that I am reminding myself that everything comes from Allah this
[27:53]is the philosophy that Islam teaches when we say the Quran mentions
[27:58]that for those when a Calamity befalls them but this is a
[28:01]philosophy that we believe in that everything belongs to Allah subhah wa
[28:05]ta'ala everything and it is from Allah's Grace to call you and
[28:12]I owners of anything in this world and he does that in
[28:18]Dua in the very first portion of du Allah says alhamdulillah all
[28:23]praise to the one who when I ask he gives me even
[28:29]though I'm stingy with him when he seeks a loan from me
[28:35]and that wording I remember in Arabic when I came across it
[28:38]and we I we discussed it with one of my teachers it
[28:43]was so beautiful in Arabic means loan Allah is saying that I
[28:47]give him alone how am I going to give Allah subhana wa
[28:51]tala alone everything that I have is from him but it is
[28:54]because of his gentle nature and because he wants you to to
[28:59]feel you know that maybe this brings you closer to him so
[29:03]he says that you know this is yours but give me some
[29:08]of it back this is the mercy of Allah subhah wa tala
[29:13]Muhammad Muhammad so that's one theme maintaining hope in Allah subhana wa
[29:26]taala another theme is the answering and generous Lord Allah subhah wa
[29:30]taala answers the Dua of those who call upon him as the
[29:37]Quran mentions call upon me I will answer you there's a beautiful
[29:39]story that I want to relate to you one time there was
[29:47]a camp for Youth and in this Camp they brought these youth
[29:51]they're doing activities they're learning they're engaging and so on and so
[29:56]forth lunchtime comes when lunchtime comes someone has an the idea to
[30:05]test their patients and build their willpower they give them soup they
[30:11]serve them soup in bowls without spoons without silverware so they wanted
[30:18]to see the reaction one of them was frustrated one of them
[30:24]probably started cursing one of them was probably hitting the table everyone
[30:27]was reacting different way some of them maybe they were patient but
[30:31]they were able to gauge everyone's reaction for something small like this
[30:37]they waited a while and then they told them listen we have
[30:44]silverware but we were just hiding it from you all and we're
[30:47]going to give it to you and go ahead the next day
[30:51]they tried doing the same thing can you guess what the reaction
[30:54]was do you think anybody stepped out of line the next day
[30:58]no one at all why because in their mind they're like I
[31:04]know they have silverware but it's only a matter of time that
[31:10]they give it to me Allah subhah wa let that sit with
[31:21]you for a second we recite it in Allah to him belongs
[31:29]everything that is in the heavens and the Earth so just like
[31:34]they had a curtain and behind it they hid silver where Allah
[31:37]subhah wa tala has the entire universe behind the curtain if you
[31:41]want to put it in that terms and so when I don't
[31:45]get what I want from Allah subhah wa ta'ala and I react
[31:48]I'm frustrated it happens I'm upset things don't go my way so
[31:55]on and so forth Allah subhah wa ta'ala he is able to
[31:58]give give me whatever it is that I want and anyone else
[32:01]that I go to can't give me what I want so if
[32:06]I adopt this kind of mentality that when I ask Allah subhana
[32:09]wa ta'ala I know he's generous I know he's going to accept
[32:14]my Dua this is very essential brothers and sisters when I ask
[32:17]Allah for something I have to believe that he's going to accept
[32:21]it imagine I go to someone that is wealthy in power of
[32:26]some kind of authority and I want a specific outcome but I
[32:33]but I tell them and I act with them in a way
[32:33]like you can't get it done so why are you asking him
[32:36]then why you asking why you putting the poor person through the
[32:41]burden of listening to you if you feel like that they can't
[32:43]accomplish what it is you want them to accomplish imagine standing in
[32:48]front of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and asking him in a way
[32:51]yet thinking that you know what I think Allah is probably not
[32:55]even going to answer me anyways whatever let me just throw a
[32:59]prayer my life is better for me because of your vast knowledge
[33:03]and everything maybe the timing is not right maybe whatever I'm asking
[33:09]Allah for I'm not ready for have we ever thought of that
[33:11]have you ever thought that sometimes you need to be at a
[33:14]certain level you need to be at a certain mentality to accept
[33:22]certain things otherwise it's difficult for you maybe to to navigate with
[33:27]some of the things that we ask Allah wa tala for so
[33:31]Allah subhana wa ta'ala is generous the Imam teaches teaches us this
[33:36]Allah subhana wa ta'ala is answering the Imam teaches reminds us of
[33:41]all this in a beautiful segment in Du when he says to
[33:48]him my master I am the young one that you have raised
[33:55]and I am the hungry one who you f and I am
[33:59]the Thirsty one who you quenched his thirst and I am the
[34:03]one who didn't have clothes and you clothed and I am the
[34:06]one who was Ill that you cured and I am the one
[34:09]who was who was minute and you made big and I am
[34:13]the one and I am the one and I am the one
[34:16]and you are the one you're the one who's done and I
[34:17]was here and you made me here I was here and you
[34:21]made me here the Imam takes you through a roller coaster in
[34:26]this Dua emotionally and he shows you it's like he showing you
[34:29]everything that Allah has done for you telling you wake up don't
[34:32]forget it's okay sometimes you do forget but remember Allah subhana wa
[34:39]taala has given you everything your very life right now while sitting
[34:44]down depends on Allah subhana wa tala if Allah subhana wa ta'ala
[34:48]will for for for you to be gone by tomorrow inshallah may
[34:51]Allah prolong all of your lives then there's nothing that can stop
[34:57]it so ask Allah wa taala as the prophet instructed during this
[35:01]month with pure hearts with pure intentions inshallah Allah subhana wa tala
[35:08]answers the ones who call upon himam Muhammad in the final theme
[35:24]so that we don't take too much of your time today is
[35:29]probably again like I I'm urged to say my favorite for all
[35:34]of them but duam is is definitely special this one is very
[35:43]beautiful and deep you find in the duas of the they have
[35:45]this type of love for Allah that is not contingent upon anything
[35:50]if you think about your relationship with Allah subhana wa tala is
[35:54]it contingent upon something sometimes it is I'm guilty of it too
[35:57]sometimes it is we ask Allah to give us something oh Allah
[36:02]please give me it if you don't give me it I feel
[36:03]like my relationship with Allah is weakened Allah's not listening to me
[36:07]Allah doesn't like me the imams they teach a whole different philosophy
[36:15]can you imagine on the day of judgment if we stood there
[36:19]and Allah comes and he says oh Ali to me uh sorry
[36:25]you didn't make the cup you're not among the people of paradise
[36:29]you're among the others we're just going to say others how would
[36:35]that make me feel I I truly wonder you know would would
[36:41]I still say oh it's I love you Allah subhana ta'ala imagine
[36:43]somebody who goes to court for example and then the judge sentences
[36:49]them and finds them guilty and they truly believe that they are
[36:57]innocent and we have a judge in attendance um ironically and they
[37:02]believe that they're innocent and then the judge gives them the sentencing
[37:06]and he tells them you're guilty usually they're going to get frustrated
[37:10]and sometimes like rare times I don't know if you guys watch
[37:16]that one clip where one of them jumped over the table and
[37:19]attacked the judge from how frustrated he got which is obviously wrong
[37:23]and one shouldn't do but emotions sometimes get very high someone gets
[37:29]really upset for not getting what they want the this is something
[37:35]that I found very intriguing the they speak to Allah in a
[37:38]way even if you were going to put me in the fire
[37:44]of hell what's worse than that fire of hell they say in
[37:49]their Dua even there I will still pronounce my love for you
[37:52]I will still tell all the Dwellers of my love for you
[37:58]can you imagine that if Allah was to put me in the
[38:00]fire of hell I don't think I can say the same thing
[38:03]that said I will be I'll probably be uh upset like you
[38:10]know God I'll start saying to God you know I did all
[38:15]that all the that I stayed up all night from till morning
[38:18]and this is what I get forgetting everything that I have done
[38:27]he says in his Dua and how is it Ya Allah how
[38:34]is it that I can reside in the fire of hell and
[38:38]my hope is in your forgiveness then the IM says I swear
[38:46]to you truthfully the Imam says if you were to just leave
[38:53]me to speak in the fire of hell IMI says a beautiful
[39:01]line he says if you were to put me in hell I
[39:06]will be in there and I will do the lamb in Arabic
[39:12]is is to emphasize I will create so much noise and yell
[39:19]and scream among those who are screaming but in a way that
[39:23]is hopeful for your mercy in a way that is hopeful for
[39:28]your mercy even even if I was to be in there and
[39:33]a little bit before that the Imam says something let's say he
[39:36]says let's say I am able to endure the punishment of the
[39:39]fire of Hell how am I going to endure being separated from
[39:46]you Ya Allah to the fire is not the issue obviously that's
[39:50]a place that they're not going to be and they don't teach
[39:54]anyone to be but that's not the issue the issue for them
[39:56]is Allah is is being away from Allah subhana wa tala that's
[40:01]the greatest concern IM in duam he says oh my Lord if
[40:10]you will if you were to Shackle me and you were to
[40:18]deprive me of your blessings among all creation on the day of
[40:23]judgment and you pointed out all my mistakes in front of all
[40:31]of creation and you commanded me to the fire of hell and
[40:37]you separated between me and the good ones you separated between me
[40:41]and Muhammad Muhammad you separated between me and Imus if you were
[40:51]to do all that the Imam says the Imam says I will
[40:57]not cut off my Hope from you I'm not going to lose
[41:04]hope in you I'm not going to look at anyone else to
[41:06]save me everything is going to remain with you oh Allah subhah
[41:12]wa ta'ala your love will not leave this heart of mine even
[41:17]if you to do all that your heart my your love will
[41:22]remain in This Heart of Mine in another part of duam the
[41:24]IM says if you were to put me in half I will
[41:33]tell everyone all the Dwellers where I am in the fire of
[41:38]my love for you oh Allah subhah wa tala think about that
[41:46]relationship IM is trying to cultivate within us yeah Allah it is
[41:53]your love that the Imam seeks and it is your love that
[41:58]we seek and in inshallah on these nights hopefully we can take
[42:03]some of these themes with us we can take them we can
[42:05]benefit from them reflect upon them because we want to take something
[42:12]with us from this Shah Ramadan there's no way we want to
[42:15]be at loss brothers and sisters and leave this month without anything
[42:20]to show for it without a small habit hey a couple lines
[42:25]a day something that you're able to maintain so that when next
[42:30]Shah Ramadan comes you are much more prepared you probably have much
[42:34]more understanding of the Holy Quran and so on and so forth
[42:41]inshallah with that being said I ask you to recite f for
[42:44]a family member of mine who was found deceased um today he
[42:50]suffered with uh cancer for very long time um Allah subhah wa
[42:53]ta'ala um took his soul and this in this morning so it
[42:59]really was and I ironically I actually did remember duza when I
[43:05]saw the body because there is a part the Imam and we
[43:08]couldn't get into it today due to the time constraint but there's
[43:12]a time where the Imam honestly takes you and it feels like
[43:15]he's walking you through death the part if those want to if
[43:18]you want to go and check it out and read it the
[43:21]one where he starts he says the Imam starts and he says
[43:33]oh Allah Place me in a situation to do repent to you
[43:36]and give me Aid to cry for myself for I have wasted
[43:44]my years wasted my years doing you know something away from you
[43:49]inshallah I'll conclude with this Hadith that I remember there's a tradition
[43:53]that mentions that in that next World We we'll be asked about
[43:59]four things our a our years of life here and what we
[44:01]did with them our youth here specifically the ages of our youth
[44:08]and the thing about being you know young is that we think
[44:10]that it lasts for a very long time but think about the
[44:14]time you were like five think about the time you were 10
[44:17]think about the time you were 15 life moves on very fast
[44:21]the Imam teaches us that and gives us that sneak peek in
[44:28]Dua AB Hamza it says if you passed away and the Imam
[44:29]saying I have wasted all these years now what can I do
[44:34]oh Allah Aid me in crying for myself because I need to
[44:36]remember all of the these things that the IM mentions inshallah for
[44:44]the soul of and inshallah for those who are ill especially those
[44:47]in attendance we ask Allah subhana wa taala to cure them we
[44:50]ask Allah subh waala to preserve our respected jurists and Scholars we
[44:55]ask Allah subhana wa taala to bless the organizer of this mjus
[44:59]we ask Allah to Grant Aid and relief to all those suffering
[45:02]especially our brothers and sisters in Gaza festine may Allah subhah wa
[45:06]ta'ala grant them Aid we ask Allah subhah wa tala to hasten
[45:12]in the appearance of IM and for all those who have been
[45:17]deceased especially those who have no one to remember them on these
[45:23]blessed nights we recite and we gift the reward of this Magus
[45:26]of ours of this speech of ours and we recite but before
[45:33]it a loud muh
