[22:02]he has a degree from U ofm he spent his entire career
[22:08]in the automotive industry working at suppliers and oems he currently works
[22:13]as a technical program manager at Ford Motor Company he served at
[22:19]multiple levels of responsibilities in the myc and the Y for the
[22:23]past 20 years please help me in welcoming him with a very
[22:29]loud salawat Muhammad muham alaykum brothers and sisters such a beautiful Gathering
[22:48]may God bless you all first and foremost I want to give
[22:52]my salams to AB abdah and his family and his friends and
[22:55]all the sh that uh took place inala so please give them
[22:59]all muhamad so I want to talk a little bit about my
[23:08]journey through the myc it's a little bit unique uh mainly because
[23:12]the Y and the myc have touched pretty much every facet of
[23:17]my life like like was mentioned it was been 20 years many
[23:19]of you are young you're in high school and in college starting
[23:24]a career or family and may want to understand how a religious
[23:26]organization such as the my can do more than just teach religion
[23:33]well I'm here to tell you that it can at first I
[23:38]simply wanted to learn about Islam it was different than Saturday school
[23:41]which I was forced to attend the youth group sparked my interest
[23:45]because it was so interactive question and answer Sports food Retreats so
[23:51]many different ways to connect with so many different people that I
[23:55]had such strong interests with I learned a lot from them none
[24:00]of my high school friends were actually attending the Y at the
[24:04]time but quickly I established friendships through those sessions some of those
[24:11]friendships as was mentioned about the Retreats are lifelong in fact just
[24:15]yesterday I learned that one of my best friends was injured in
[24:18]a sports accident I can't even describe the discomfort I felt in
[24:22]that moment his pain became my pain I quickly gathered my friends
[24:29]and my family and we visited him alhamdulillah he was okay we
[24:32]are both we were both relieved to see each other and smile
[24:35]together and share some stories uh we also both learned to never
[24:40]play pickle ball without glasses I can confidently tell you that this
[24:44]type of love for a Muslim brother only came through the myc
[24:50]secondly I can talk a little bit about finding my wife the
[24:56]marriage attending Haj with her my blessed marriage and and the Unforgettable
[25:00]High trip and my children but I'll leave those details for later
[25:03]instead I'll tell you a little bit about how I actually landed
[25:06]a job because of the Y during one of the worst financial
[25:10]crisis in American history and certainly in Michigan with the Auto industry
[25:16]I found myself jobless in 2008 I had two kids at the
[25:20]time a family and a home to maintain without an income for
[25:26]months I searched and at times it felt completely hopeless I stumbled
[25:30]upon a recruiter who was actually from Washington later I learned that
[25:34]that that a nither was done on my behalf from somebody at
[25:39]the Y this recruiter quickly set up an interview with a manager
[25:43]at an automotive OEM based in Dearborn I'm sure you can quickly
[25:49]put those pieces together I didn't have much detail because this was
[25:53]considered a top secret project it is now known to the public
[25:56]as Ford Sync the recruiter didn't give me the name of the
[26:00]hiring manager or the building that I would even work at and
[26:03]the and until the actual night before the interview like 8pm.
[26:07]as soon as he did I quickly called up some people that
[26:11]I had known from the Y who I knew actually worked in
[26:16]that building they gave me some great advice uh this comforted me
[26:20]greatly not only because it was good advice but because it came
[26:24]from brothers and sisters whom I was truly fond of and I
[26:27]actually trusted both of them even talked to the manager before my
[26:33]interview and strongly recommended me so much so that I when I
[26:36]walked into the interview the first thing the hiring manager said to
[26:44]me was apparently if I don't hire you I'd be an idiot
[26:46]he said that it was the strongest recommendation he had ever gotten
[26:52]from somebody I was not only shocked but completely relieved it was
[26:55]like Allah subhana wa ta'ala sent those two people to comfort me
[26:59]and to help me on this purpose needless to say the manager
[27:04]went on to tell me that he needed to ask me some
[27:06]questions and alhamdulillah we got through the interview and I started that
[27:09]same day I'm infinitely grateful for those bonds that I made at
[27:14]that youth group at that time thirdly I want to talk a
[27:18]little bit about service a topic that doesn't get mentioned too frequently
[27:23]but does get better with experience again another way the youth group
[27:28]truly changed my life servitude is not something that I was taught
[27:34]when I was younger at least not service without pay I was
[27:37]always taught that you were I was always taught that any work
[27:42]that you do you should get something in return from somebody whether
[27:46]you were going to get money or some sort of sugary treat
[27:49]I always had the impression that any chore or task demanded some
[27:54]sort of payment from someone else the maalis of IM Hussein quickly
[27:58]dispels that notion he gave everything including his family for the sake
[28:06]of Allah subhana tala many of his own followers were even offered
[28:09]a great deal of wealth but they refused because they knew that
[28:12]someone else's payment was not comparable to Allah's blessings the youth group
[28:18]offered me opportunities to serve for the sake of Islam whether it
[28:20]was cleaning up after the maalis seating and greeting my fellow Muslims
[28:26]or planning some unique Halal event at the Masid serving always gave
[28:30]me a sense of fulfillment and content that itch to serve never
[28:39]went away muh inshallah one day I can serve Humanity with each
[28:50]and every single one of you the last thing I want to
[28:55]mention about the NYC is the story of Zar and ARB last
[28:57]year I stood before for you all and ask you to pray
[29:00]for me and alhamdulillah those prayers were answered I was given the
[29:06]opportunity to witness the largest annual Gathering of people in our time
[29:09]I did it again with some of the most humble God-fearing brothers
[29:16]and sisters I had ever met the event of Aran can't be
[29:18]described with words I know so I asked so many people before
[29:23]the trip about it and and for any advice one sister tried
[29:26]to describe it she goes frequently but she tried to describe it
[29:31]in a metaphorical sense her description actually scared me a little bit
[29:34]but it made sense after I went she said to me it
[29:38]feels like you're a bird flying without any Care Now imagine you're
[29:44]a bird flying overhead witnessing millions of people from all walks of
[29:50]life each individual has a story to be told each person has
[29:53]been touched by IM Hussein whether they were walking or they were
[30:00]were serving they each have a unique story and that story all
[30:02]comes back to IM Hussein and how he saved Islam for them
[30:07]inshallah one day you all will be able to fly on this
[30:12]journey and witness it for yourself and inshallah the Dua of each
[30:15]one of us collectively will enable that every time you hear the
[30:20]say the The Scholar sayin really internalize it and make it personal
[30:26]20 years ago I would have never imagine that a religious youth
[30:30]group could have done so much for me but alhamdulillah it has
[30:33]it actually has a reverse payment effect the more I give for
[30:38]the sake of Islam the more I feel indebted to it and
[30:42]on that token my family and I will be hosting tonight's Magus
[30:45]inshallah we'll be donating $1,000 for tonight's majus I ask you all
[30:52]to keep me in your prayers and to recite for my father
[30:56]for the speedy recovery of my friend and for the sh ofala
[31:02]after all muham muhamad if anyone would like to host a a
[31:10]mes either approach myself or any one of the myc volunteers here
[31:17]serving you tonight thank you wasalam alaykum and if you don't see
[31:32]either one of us there's a sponsorship form behind the uh some
[31:34]of the pews where you can again approach me for the sponsorship
[31:38]form muham muham muhamad uh just one quick announcement there's a black
[31:58]pickup truck that's parked illegally in the front the license plate number
[32:06]is DVD 0183 that's DVD 0183 if this is your vehicle we
[32:10]kindly ask that you please move it next I would like to
[32:15]invite Sayed Ahmed kazini some of you may not know this but
[32:19]Sayed Ahmed graduated from Forton high school and then he went on
[32:25]to study at the hza of Kum for 15 years under a
[32:27]number of of prominent Grand Scholars he also taught various courses during
[32:35]his time in the haza he has written research papers in the
[32:38]field of Islamic Juris prudence and the science of Hadith so please
[32:42]help me in welcoming him with a very loud Muhammad muhamad m
[33:33]yes Muhammad Ali Muhammad [Laughter] [Music] mdah husin [Music] Shah may Allah
[34:48]grant us all his Z in this life and his sha in
[34:58]the next life illuminate your hearts and your majalis with the loudest
[35:03]of salawat for Muhammad and Al Muhammad respected brothers and sisters assalam
[35:18]alaykum the Holy Quran illustrates that on the day of judgment people
[35:26]will be separated into two camps the first Camp are called the
[35:36]people of the right and the second Camp are called the people
[35:43]of the left those that will be celebrating and triumphant on the
[35:51]day of judgment will be the right Wingers and as for the
[36:00]left swingers the lefties they will be the sore losers in distress
[36:05]and Agony on that day so every believer in this life strives
[36:14]and tries their best to be a right winger on the day
[36:22]of judgment so that they can receive the grace and blessings of
[36:26]Allah subhanahu what but in the same way that on the day
[36:36]of judgment there will be people on the right and on the
[36:38]left in this duny in this life we also have people on
[36:44]the right and people on the left people that are on the
[36:50]right are called the conservatives those that believe in conservative values and
[37:00]traditions and people on the left are called liberals those that believe
[37:08]in Liberal ideas traditions and values and there is a very Fierce
[37:15]war between the right and the left between conservatives and liberals in
[37:20]this country in the US as I speak and you find Muslims
[37:25]here are many types you find some Muslims are passionate right-wingers they
[37:35]are hardcore conservatives and they will tell you I've been told by
[37:41]some Muslims that if you want to be of the people of
[37:45]the right on the day of judgment you have to be in
[37:47]this life you have to be a right-winger in this life and
[37:52]that's why they'll support all the conservative causes and movements in this
[37:58]country and then I've seen Muslims on completely the other side Muslims
[38:06]who cannot stand any right-winger any conservative they are completely repelled by
[38:13]them by their nationalist ideology their racist attitudes and they will tell
[38:20]you that no we are liberals we are allies of the Liberals
[38:24]in this country they are the ones that Embrace us not not
[38:31]the conservatives but most Muslims are confused most Muslims find themselves in
[38:36]the crosshairs of this war of this battle they find themselves in
[38:42]a pull and push situation where one day they feel like they're
[38:48]closer to conservatives and the other day they feel like they are
[38:53]closer to liberals and this is what I want to address tonight
[38:58]brother and sisters because there's a lot of misinformation and ignorance when
[39:03]it comes to Islam's understanding and position regarding conservatism and liberalism so
[39:12]let's discuss this inshallah in an academic scholarly way inshallah tala many
[39:18]Muslims who immigrated to this country they found that the Liberals were
[39:27]much friendlier with them than the conservatives and there's a couple of
[39:30]reasons behind that the first reason is because liberals advocate for civil
[39:40]rights of everybody they don't care what your color is where you
[39:43]come from they don't care what language you speak what religion you
[39:47]practice the Liberals usually advocate for justice and civil rights for all
[39:57]people they don't care who it is is Muslim non-muslim doesn't matter
[40:00]so you find Muslims find themselves closer to liberals well this is
[40:05]what the Quran believes in Justice for everyone civil rights for everyone
[40:12]they find that liberals they tend to be more friendly or more
[40:20]caring of the environment something that even Islam promotes they find that
[40:30]liberals support a social welfare system and this is an Islamic teaching
[40:36]we believe in zakat we believe in in fact IM Ali we
[40:44]believe was the first ruler to ever to ever support and Implement
[40:56]such a system a welfare system that the less fortunate are helped
[41:00]the less fortunate are all given an equal share so that nobody
[41:04]is poor or suffering in the country so they come and they
[41:10]see all these positive things the Liberals are more friendly with the
[41:15]minorities they're more friendly with those that are usually marginalized in the
[41:19]community so they find themselves in a natural alliance with the Liberals
[41:25]because they embrace them and that's why you find that when the
[41:34]Trump band happened you saw thousands of people that went and supported
[41:40]Muslims they went and they protested against that band the Muslim band
[41:45]the majority of those people were liberals the majority of those people
[41:51]were non-muslims why did they come and fight for the Muslims because
[41:58]they believe in in right for everyone they believe that every single
[42:01]human being should be given their right to not be discriminated against
[42:05]while the people that voted for Trump in 2016 the majority were
[42:11]conservatives so Muslims like wait a minute these conservatives brought someone to
[42:17]power who is Banning us Muslims and who is defending us the
[42:25]majority liberals so obviously we should be at allies with the Liberals
[42:29]in this country because they Embrace us while conservatives usually don't Embrace
[42:34]Muslims in this country that's one reason another reason you find that
[42:41]Liberals are usually more friendly towards Muslims is because liberals look for
[42:49]any marginalized minority because they know that they are outnumbered by conservatives
[42:54]do you know that in the US the largest fraction in the
[43:02]US population are the conservatives there was a Pew research statistic study
[43:09]that found this was from last year 2023 that 38% of Americans
[43:19]are conservatives while 29% of Americans are liberals and the others are
[43:24]in the middle so liberals know that they cannot defeat conservatives by
[43:30]themselves they need allies they need all the different minorities to Ally
[43:36]with them to be their allies so that they can altogether defeat
[43:42]the conservatives so Muslims as they were becoming more and more closer
[43:51]to the liberal movement thinking that these individuals are our supporters they're
[43:55]our allies all of the sudden you find that they were surprised
[44:03]many Muslims they're surprised to find out that these liberals were not
[44:12]supporting Muslims they were not supporting Muslims because they loved you they
[44:16]were supporting Muslims because of a you scratch my back and I
[44:23]scratch your back mentality attitude so when liberals come out and they
[44:28]defend you as a Muslim they expect something in return that tomorrow
[44:36]when we are targeted when the lgbtq community is targeted the new
[44:40]Muslims have to pay us back because we were there supporting you
[44:44]when you were being discriminated against so isn't it fair for us
[44:52]to expect that you Muslims come out and you protest for us
[44:55]and you support us when we are discriminated against so it was
[45:00]it so Muslims found themselves in a very bad situation in a
[45:06]corner we have to come out and support liberals but what's the
[45:12]problem but Liberals are asking us to believe in all these crazy
[45:16]immoral ideas so we don't want to come out we don't want
[45:20]to go out and support them and this is when the Liberals
[45:23]became aggressive when Muslims you don't want to support our causes then
[45:28]we will cancel you then we will no longer allow we will
[45:33]no longer support you and I personally brothers and sisters have heard
[45:38]the stories of many Muslim politicians and activists who were embraced by
[45:44]liberals liberals were very friendly towards them but when it was an
[45:53]lgbtq or gender issue and they decided not to support that issue
[45:57]they were taken down immediately a symbolic gun was placed on their
[46:04]head support our causes or we will cancel you why are you
[46:11]surprised we supported you you think we did it now you have
[46:14]to support us so these Muslims were in a terrible situation what
[46:18]do I do do I go inside with the conservatives they never
[46:24]even showed me any love or any friend friendliness or do I
[46:29]stay with these liberals but they have these conditions upon me that
[46:32]I cannot meet so Muslims they found themselves in a very terrible
[46:40]situation and this is when Muslims began to rethink you know what
[46:46]maybe we should join the conservatives and the Liberals my friends in
[46:53]the last 20 years they achieved so much of their agendas that
[47:00]it's just unbelievable I remember when I was going to school when
[47:06]I was young in the late '90s and the early 2000s it
[47:11]was a completely different country when I was young in this country
[47:17]there were only two genders there wasn't a third I had never
[47:22]heard of a third or fourth gender just some theoretical stuff in
[47:27]the books marriage was between a man and a woman right this
[47:34]was what most people accepted of marriage there were only two types
[47:41]of relationship between man and woman there was either monogamy oneon-one or
[47:46]what we Muslims like polygamy one with four wives that was it
[47:52]there was no other Notions of marriage there was no changing of
[48:00]the genders there was no pronoun Revolution none of that existed I
[48:03]even remember when I was in school it was a stigma if
[48:11]someone called you gay if you wanted to make fun of someone
[48:14]you would call that person gay and that person no no that
[48:18]was the worst accusation they could receive now you tell someone you're
[48:23]gay thank you Habib I no you're gay it's a compliment now
[48:27]and this is just in 20 years how everything has completely changed
[48:34]so this was 20 years ago 20 25 years ago now fast
[48:41]forward to 2020 to 2024 how many genders do we have now
[48:45]brothers and sisters how many you think now this changes every day
[48:54]so I had to look it up today today brothers and sisters
[49:01]there are 112 genders look it up 112 genders and Counting By
[49:07]the time I finish my lecture it could be 113 some of
[49:11]them are crazy you don't even understand what they mean gender fluidity
[49:16]something very normal someone who shows up as a guy as a
[49:22]man during the day at night you find this person says no
[49:26]I'm a woman now and this this is completely normal masculinity when
[49:30]I was young masculinity was seen as a good thing it was
[49:33]positive but now it's a controversial thing you could be cancelled just
[49:39]because you believe that masculinity is good 20 years now brothers and
[49:46]sisters I was reading that not only is same gender relationships and
[49:54]marriages not only is that okay but now there are nine types
[49:59]of non monogamous monogamous relationships so back then 20 years ago there's
[50:07]only one type polygamy now there's up to nine types and I
[50:11]had to read essays just to understand what these are it's when
[50:17]you have an agreement with your spouse that I will cheat on
[50:19]you in a specific way and they're both okay with it and
[50:24]they give a term a name to this weird relationship this is
[50:27]all happening brothers and sisters and unfolding the pronoun Revolution all of
[50:34]this brothers and sisters happened so rapidly and it was shoved down
[50:42]some people's throats if you don't accept it if you don't accept
[50:49]this then you will be cancelled you will be labeled with all
[50:52]these different labels that they could end your career so the conservatives
[50:58]as I said they were always the biggest faction but they were
[51:02]a sleeping giant but all of a sudden you notice in the
[51:06]last five six years there's been a revolution they have finally waken
[51:14]up and you find the strong push back from conservatives against all
[51:18]this nonsense against all this immorality and Corruption and the changing of
[51:25]the norms and what's acceptable in society and that's why you found
[51:31]in the last couple of years you found the US shifting more
[51:35]and more right the Supreme Court when the majority is conservative now
[51:41]abortion was completely what was completely the right of abortion was completely
[51:47]removed R versus weight it was overturned and I was reading the
[51:52]last couple of years that there were there there's been a new
[51:54]movement of boy cing any company any corporation that supports or promotes
[52:03]lgbtq rights or transgenders you found that with Target for example remember
[52:10]a couple of years ago used to go pride month and you
[52:16]find all this pride month material they were forced to remove a
[52:19]lot of it even some of the beer companies you can Google
[52:26]it because they have had a transgender promoting their product you find
[52:34]the conservatives boycotted them and they started to lose money so conservatives
[52:39]started to gain traction they became stronger and stronger in the last
[52:44]decade and the push back against liberals can be seen it's very
[52:50]tangible so Muslims once again they're in this constant battle between liberals
[52:58]conservatives Liberals are now becoming too aggressive you have to promote all
[53:02]this junk but Muslims are too weak so they always like to
[53:06]ride bandwagon they see a wave and you know let's join that
[53:12]wave so now there's this conservative wave let's join it why because
[53:17]conservatives are mostly in line with many of our social teachings and
[53:27]most moral most many of the moral beliefs and standards and values
[53:30]that we have we much closer to conservatives they believe in the
[53:35]traditional family structure they oppose lgbtq they're against this whole gender thing
[53:42]they're against the you know going against masculinity not so friendly with
[53:45]femininity and all that stuff so many Muslims see that you know
[53:51]what they're closer to our religion even though they may have been
[53:54]hostile towards us in the past but when we look at the
[53:59]values that they believe in they are closer to what we believe
[54:03]in especially in Social matters and you find conservatives they support a
[54:11]greater role for religion in public life they support funding religious schools
[54:17]by the government and this is something that Muslims love imagine if
[54:24]we can in this city imagine if we can open multiple Muslim
[54:29]schools Muslim religious schools that would be funded directly by the government
[54:33]so that we can enroll our students without any tuition just like
[54:37]public schools we would be we would be in such a great
[54:47]and better situation so that we don't have to constantly go through
[54:50]those problems of what's being taught in public schools what's being shoved
[54:55]down the throat of our children so we find conservatives are the
[55:03]ones that are asking for these things so like I said Muslims
[55:06]siding you found this trend Muslims siding with conservatives and then you
[55:12]found all these Brave courageous individuals conservatives non-muslims who used to come
[55:19]on the media and they would challenge all the dogmas of the
[55:23]Liberals I remember a couple of years ago when I used to
[55:30]I lived in Iran so I wasn't always you know aware of
[55:35]what was going on always a bit late and and following the
[55:37]the latest trends and what's happening so I came a couple of
[55:40]years ago to reide some maalis to visit and all of the
[55:46]sudden I see that there's this new hero that everybody loves everybody's
[55:49]talking about who is it Jordan Peterson who's Jordan Peterson so I
[55:54]watched a couple of his videos and I was do wow he
[55:59]comes out publicly and he defies those arrogant liberals whether it is
[56:06]in matters of feminin ism what does it mean to be a
[56:11]woman lgbtq rights all these things that we Muslims believe in all
[56:14]these things that we're appalled by but we're afraid to speak against
[56:19]he comes out in the most eloquent way and he takes them
[56:23]down he debates them so you find this huge movement of Muslims
[56:27]becoming followers of people like Jordan Peterson Jordan Peterson is one example
[56:32]another example is Ben Shapiro a conservative who's very Fierce very strong
[56:38]very brave against those liberals you don't know how many Muslims Started
[56:42]Loving this guy he became a hero an icon for them because
[56:49]of these social values that he was defending Andrew Tate oh my
[56:53]God where do I start with Andrew Tate five years ago four
[56:59]years every every sah we used to have with the shabab so
[57:01]I'm waiting okay they're going to ask me about verses of the
[57:05]Quran ask me about the imams you know what did they do
[57:09]why did they say this Hadith the first question say what do
[57:11]you think about Andrew Tate second question Jordan Peterson third question Ben
[57:15]Shapiro am I in the right SAR and I had to literally
[57:21]go and dig deep in these people's lives and and watch all
[57:25]their videos to understand what these people are promoting and honestly I
[57:30]was even fascinated a lot of the things that they were saying
[57:36]not all but a lot of the things that they were saying
[57:38]it really resonated with a Muslim who's overpowered with all these aggressive
[57:44]liberals who are trying to force their dogmas upon us so these
[57:51]individuals they became Heroes they became icons for many of our youth
[57:59]they started loving them and talking about them all the time so
[58:04]you found the strong alliance between conservatives and Muslims and then you
[58:10]remember the latest episode last year or the year before where conservatives
[58:15]and Muslims joined together as they protested the the schools the books
[58:23]that were being presented in the schools it was a very strange
[58:29]fresh Alliance conservatives and Muslims together that's how it was being reported
[58:36]all across the media these very right Christians who usually can't tolerate
[58:41]Muslims all of the sudden they've become allies with Muslims and they're
[58:47]all protesting the the same thing the immorality that these public schools
[58:52]are teaching to our children so it seemed like it was a
[58:58]very strong Alliance until nine months ago on October 7th on October
[59:05]7th brothers and sisters all of a sudden there was this huge
[59:10]Rift between Muslims and conservatives because many of these con not all
[59:16]of them many of these conservatives of these Heroes who used to
[59:20]come out and defend conservatism who used to come out and defend
[59:26]Family Values many of these individuals all of a sudden became the
[59:34]biggest supporters of Zionism and they started to actively actively support the
[59:43]genocide against the Palestinian people you don't know how many people young
[59:47]people who used to come brothers and sisters in the first months
[59:52]of the war and they felt betrayed they used to come to
[59:58]me say we have been betrayed by the likes of Ben Shapiro
[60:01]by the likes of Jordan Peterson he showed his true colors we
[60:05]were conservatives but now we're thinking once again should we go back
[60:09]to becoming liberals and what made it worse was that who was
[60:16]defending the Palestinian cause conservatives or liberals usually Who and the universities
[60:27]those encampments were they conservative or usually they were liberal people I
[60:31]visited some of the encampments and Subhan Allah I remember we visited
[60:37]the U ofm encampment on the night before the police went and
[60:40]destroyed it and we spoke to many of them you could see
[60:43]all these weird people you don't know if he is a guy
[60:45]if he is a girl but he says I support Palestine so
[60:48]Muslims were once again confused what do we do back and forth
[60:53]between conservative liberal conservatives and their values the family value social values
[61:00]beautiful but now they're racist they're anti-muslim and they are supporting the
[61:07]genocide against Gaza every single day and it's these liberals who are
[61:12]supporting the Palestinian people so once again brothers and sisters many Muslims
[61:18]were left confused who do we follow who do I listen to
[61:25]that that's why it's very important my friends for us to understand
[61:33]why Allah subhah waala sent us 14 this is where you really
[61:38]understand this Allah Asel chose 14 infallible human beings that will never
[61:48]mislead you that will never fool you that will never make you
[61:52]into thinking that they're allies that they love you that they believe
[61:57]in the same thing only to betray you later like both liberals
[62:00]and conservatives did and they are none other than Muhammad and Ali
[62:04]and Fa and Hass and Hussein and the others other members of
[62:14]Muhammad that's why I remember when I used to always be asked
[62:19]about these people I was always cautious Jordan Peterson Andrew Tate Ben
[62:24]Shapiro I used to tell them I believe that one man is
[62:27]the scale of right and wrong and that man is if that
[62:33]person is agreeing with IM then good for him but if that
[62:39]person is saying anything that does not agree with the beliefs and
[62:42]the values and the traditions of imali I don't want to hear
[62:45]it these people are not our heroes we only have 14 Heroes
[62:51]these were infallible everyone else may mislead you brothers and sisters I
[62:56]don't care what they claim I don't care how much you are
[62:58]fascinated by their speech and by their debate but a day will
[63:04]come in which they will disappoint you and this is exactly what
[63:07]the shatan does the shitan is very clever in what in taking
[63:12]evil and good and mixing them he doesn't just bring you evil
[63:16]pure evil and he places in front of you because it's easy
[63:21]to discern that it's easy to tell that this is pure evil
[63:23]he takes evil and he takes good he mixes it together and
[63:29]then he presents it to you in a good way conservatism liberalism
[63:34]Allah subhah wa ta'ala speaks about the shatan one of the names
[63:40]of the shatan in the Quran is the Allah says about thean
[63:49]Allah says be careful oh human beings I sent you 14 infallible
[63:56]members they teach you they are the standard of what's right and
[63:59]wrong everyone else you don't know there's a risk it could go
[64:03]right it could go wrong and then Allah subhana wa taala says
[64:07]that be careful to never trust the Shan and he calls him
[64:13]the means the one who fools the one who deceives he is
[64:18]the deceiver because he will take all these individuals like Jordan Peterson
[64:21]and I don't know who and you will think that you're allies
[64:24]with them remember all the those debates that some Muslims all those
[64:28]discussions they start to have with Jordan Peterson he had a huge
[64:31]Muslim following if it wasn't for the Israel war the genocide he
[64:38]would have eventually been probably promoted to an Imam or something a
[64:41]Sheikh his following was with Muslims was greater than any Muslim leader
[64:49]any Muslim scholar but all of a sudden on on October 7th
[64:51]what did he say about them to hell with all these Palestinians
[64:57]or open the doors of Hell upon them this is what the
[65:02]Shan does he fools you he Lowes you into certain ideas that
[65:05]seem to be good but only after to betray you to deceive
[65:11]you to fool you so that's why brothers and sisters we have
[65:14]to be very wary of these different ideologies so when it comes
[65:21]to Islam is Islam closer to conservatism or is it closer to
[65:28]liberalism before I answer this brothers and sisters let me just quickly
[65:34]Define what these two words mean conservatism by the way both of
[65:43]these conservatism and liberalism they are new terminology they weren't present during
[65:45]the days of the Prophet they are not mentioned in the Quran
[65:50]nor in the Bible in any of these scriptures they originated from
[65:54]the enlightenment area of in Europe so maybe about 2 3 four
[65:58]centuries ago conservatism is an ideology that seeks to maintain seeks to
[66:10]maintain the traditions and values of the past the past is very
[66:15]important for them they don't like change and reform they always or
[66:19]most of the times prefer stability going back to the past they
[66:27]don't like new ideas does so for example the customs and traditions
[66:31]of their parents and grandparents the customs and traditions of their society
[66:37]that they grew up in if there's anything new they don't like
[66:40]that the values that are taught in the old scriptures religion they
[66:44]like to stick to those values and they don't like new ideas
[66:49]that are introduced in society this is conservatism whether it is in
[66:54]politics whether it is in E economy or in Social matters matters
[66:59]of right and wrong Halal and Haram and so on and so
[67:02]forth while liberalism is the exact opposite liberalism is an ideology that
[67:12]seeks to always introduce change to always introduce reform they don't like
[67:23]sticking to one thing they hate the status quo it's an ideology
[67:28]that always wants to progress meaning to bring new ideas and they
[67:37]as they claim by the way as an ideology now how is
[67:39]it reflected on you know on the ground that's a different topic
[67:43]but as an ideology that they have one goal their goal is
[67:50]to support and increase the rights and freedoms of the human being
[67:56]if these values and traditions are making human beings Freer we support
[68:03]them if not we don't so this is what they care about
[68:07]they're not stuck in the past they don't care what a book
[68:09]from a thousand years ago says whether it's the Quran or the
[68:14]Bible or anything else they don't care about your culture your Customs
[68:18]well it's I to do this I don't care it's h i
[68:22]want to be free they don't care about any of that and
[68:24]that's why you find that Liber are always introducing new ideas and
[68:29]Concepts and morality right we talked about this the gender the whole
[68:37]gender thing the whole lgbtq thing and so on and so forth
[68:40]so their moral compass is constantly shifting and it's intentionally being done
[68:48]they tell you we want to do this I remember once there
[68:51]was a Muslim liberal who was discussing this point with me and
[68:58]he he was trying to come up with arguments to prove that
[69:00]Islam is a liberal religion and I remember he used this Hadith
[69:07]he said Islam is not a religion that is stagnant Islam is
[69:10]not a religion that is stuck in the past the Hadith says
[69:17]if yesterday and today are the same the Imam says then you
[69:23]are losing but if today is greater than yesterday today then you
[69:27]are prevailing so we always have to improve we always have to
[69:33]reform Islam is a liberal religion he was making these arguments conservatives
[69:37]they will call out liberals for this fact they tell them that
[69:42]you guys have absolutely no consistency in your morality something is immoral
[69:47]20 30 years ago all of a sudden it becomes moral it
[69:54]becomes okay something was more was probably um moral before now it
[69:58]becomes immoral what's what's the problem why do you keep on changing
[70:01]your morality and the Liberals don't find this as a problem yes
[70:08]we're very flexible we keep on progressing and we keep on reforming
[70:12]and changing what's a problem with that so this is liberalism and
[70:18]the question is where does is Islam fall in these two spectrums
[70:24]is Islam a religion that tries to maintain the past the traditions
[70:30]and the values of the past or is it a religion that
[70:36]wants constant reform it wants change which is it brothers and sisters
[70:40]Allah subhana wa taala says something beautiful about the religion of Islam
[70:47]he says something beautiful about the Muslim Community and trust me if
[70:51]you take this as a golden rule in life most of the
[70:56]time most of the time you'll be on the right side of
[71:02]History Islam in general is against extremism anything that has a spectrum
[71:05]do not be on either sides of the Extremes in most situations
[71:12]be moderate be in the middle and Allah subhah wa ta'ala says
[71:18]this in the Holy Quran Allah subhana T and says and we
[71:25]made Jew Muslims an um a nation that is was moderate in
[71:31]the middle in almost everything that's why when they compare Islam to
[71:35]other religions you always find Islam is in the middle one religion
[71:38]focuses too much for example on just believing and not acting another
[71:47]religion focuses too much on your act and belief isn't that important
[71:51]Islam comes right in the middle the Quran says belief is important
[72:00]and your Deeds are important you find in the Quran many of
[72:03]these Concepts that some people they would indulge too much in the
[72:05]duny other people they would go and become monks and completely completely
[72:11]abandon this duny this world Islam came out and said this is
[72:15]wrong this is rahan monery is not accepted in Islam be moderate
[72:22]do not indulge too much in the duny and do not completely
[72:25]isolate yourself from the duny be moderate in everything so because Islam
[72:32]is a moderate religion you find Islam does not always promote reform
[72:40]reform is good sometimes change is good sometimes but not all the
[72:48]time and at the same time Islam does not always believe that
[72:51]we have to stick to the past the traditions and values and
[72:55]the the customs of the past they have to continue Islam is
[72:59]in the middle so what's the rule it's not just a random
[73:03]equation there is a rule you see Islam my dear brothers and
[73:08]sisters it supports reform and change as long as you know where
[73:18]that reform is coming from as long as you know and you
[73:21]understand who is leading that movement you see the problem with the
[73:29]Liberals today is any reform is good they just jump on the
[73:32]bandwagon they don't even know who's leading this this whole gender thing
[73:35]who's teaching this who's introducing it could be the shaitan do they
[73:40]even care no they take it as gospel right away it could
[73:46]be Hollywood it could be the media it could be a bunch
[73:50]of wealthy Rich powerful people that are introducing these new ideas but
[73:55]as long as it makes us free as long as it's reform
[73:58]they accept it this is wrong Islam supports educated reform reform and
[74:07]change that you understand that make sense so if the reform is
[74:14]coming from Allah subhanahu wa taala if the reform comes with signs
[74:18]that this is from God that this is true that this makes
[74:25]sense Islam says here I support reform reform is good in fact
[74:32]alai wasallam was a reformer he came to change many of the
[74:36]traditions and many of the values that the people of jalah believed
[74:41]in so in that sense Islam does support reform but as long
[74:48]as you understand where the reform is coming from so at that
[74:57]same time time sticking to the status quo is not always right
[75:00]brothers and sisters just because this is a conservative movement this is
[75:07]a conservative idea the greatest enemies of rasool Allah were the conservative
[75:12]people of Mecca because they didn't want any change in their values
[75:17]and beliefs and when the prophet wanted to change their whole mentality
[75:20]to stop worshiping the idols and worshiping Allah subhana tala what was
[75:25]their it was the conservative reply are you trying to change the
[75:33]ways of our parents the ways that we grew up with what
[75:35]do you mean men and women are equal what do you mean
[75:40]worship one God instead of all these Gods what do you mean
[75:43]that all people are equal and race and doesn't matter now the
[75:52]prophet came with signs with miracles he came with logic so he
[75:57]brought them the proofs and the evidence that what he is saying
[76:01]the reform that he is introducing makes sense it's correct but because
[76:08]they were they were raised with a conservative attitude that I have
[76:14]to stick to the religion and to the ways and traditions of
[76:17]my parents and of my Society they rejected rasol it wasn't the
[76:22]Liberals that rejected Ras Allah it was the conservative and IM Hussein
[76:28]the same thing happened to him when im Hussein wanted to go
[76:36]to carala when he wanted to revolt he was seen as a
[76:39]reformer he was seen as someone who's being too liberal remember once
[76:44]a father a young man he came to me and he said
[76:49]say I'm trying to get married to another girl but my father
[76:53]says no he's completely against and this by the way happens sometimes
[76:59]on a weekly basis I told him why he says because we're
[77:04]for two we're from two countries we're both Muslims we're both Shia
[77:09]we we both are born and raised in America she's a very
[77:14]good girl everything is good the profile everything is perfect the only
[77:20]problem is that I am from this Arab country and she's also
[77:22]Arab from another Arab country can you please talk to him so
[77:27]I call that father okay try to reason with an old father
[77:29]I call him your son came to me and he is complaining
[77:34]he says that you don't allow him is there a problem with
[77:36]that girl is there a problem in her in her behavior in
[77:41]her Morality In Her decency he says no so why are you
[77:43]against it he says say my son is becoming too liberal like
[77:47]what do you mean too liberal he's like look I come from
[77:50]a conservative family the traditions and the values and the customs of
[77:55]my country and family are important and my son wants to bypass
[78:01]all of that and he wants to introduce a new culture to
[78:03]my family no way he's too liberal if that's what it means
[78:09]to be a conservative brothers and sisters that is exactly what Abu
[78:13]jahel believed in this is exactly what the enemies of Islam believed
[78:17]in so being conservative or being liberal should never be how you
[78:21]define yourself you define yourself by what's right and wrong what makes
[78:27]sense and what doesn't make sense is there proof from Allah subhanahu
[78:33]wa ta'ala or not once I see the proof from Allah you
[78:35]submit this is what it means to be a Muslim if Allah
[78:46]and the messenger of Allah it is proven to you they tell
[78:51]you this is the right way you can't come out and say
[78:53]you know what this is from the past this has to be
[78:56]changed this will be following my desires following the following thean so
[79:01]IM Hussein when he decided to revolt against yazid when he wanted
[79:06]to go to kufa he faced a lot of opposition from good
[79:12]people they had good intentions but the problem is they were too
[79:16]conservative they wanted to keep the status quo they saw IM Hussein
[79:22]as just disrupting too much even though they loved the IM Hussein
[79:26]even though they knew IM Hussein was a great man the grandson
[79:29]of but they did not want reform when he announces that he
[79:37]is going to kufa his cousin IB Abbas comes to him and
[79:42]he tries very hard to dissuade him oh son of rol Allah
[79:47]are you sure you want to go to kufa see what they
[79:50]did to your father see what they did to your brother and
[79:53]he begins to give him all these arguments to not go to
[79:57]kufa to not Revolt if you have to go somewhere then go
[80:01]to Yemen IM Hussein gave him a very powerful answer very clear
[80:08]answer you've heard it it's very popular he told him why he's
[80:12]going to kufa he's not going to kufa so that he can
[80:15]reach power he's not going to kufa so that he can defeat
[80:20]yazid Al IM Hussein went to kufa because he wanted to reform
[80:30]the um this is exactly what he told I have not come
[80:38]for any worldly gain I'm not going to kuf because I have
[80:41]any personal problems with someone and then he says these words why
[80:50]am I going to kuah means what reform Hussein was seen as
[80:57]being too liberal during his time because remember we said liberalism means
[81:00]to always want to reform and that's why many good people didn't
[81:04]join they didn't go and fight with IM Hussein they loved him
[81:09]but they just thought IM Hussein is being too liberal IM Hussein
[81:12]is not making the right call here let's keep the status quo
[81:16]there's less harm yes we agree that yazid is bad yes we
[81:22]agree that we're not in a good situation but what's to come
[81:24]will probably be worse exactly what conservatives believe in but IM Hussein
[81:32]didn't care he left he left Medina and he went to Mecca
[81:37]after Mecca he headed to kufa the night before he went he
[81:45]left Mecca and he headed to kufa his brother Muhammed this Hadith
[81:52]is mentioned in history books mentions it in his book Al Muhammad
[82:00]came to IM Hussein and he begged him not to go to
[82:04]kufa he told him abdah the same argument ofb Abbas why are
[82:11]you going to kufa these people will deceive you these people are
[82:15]are not going to fight for you go to Yemen please just
[82:19]reconsider going to kufa and taking all these children and women with
[82:26]you the Imam kept on telling him it doesn't matter whether I
[82:29]go or not even if I don't go to kufa yazid will
[82:33]send his troops to Mecca and they will kill me even if
[82:37]I am Clinging On The the fabric of Al even if I'm
[82:41]holding on to the Kaa they will shed my blood in m
[82:45]so it doesn't matter it's not about where I go they will
[82:49]come and Hunt me down at least let me make a point
[82:51]when I leave and go to kufa that I am not silent
[82:55]against all this aggression and oppression and Corruption that yazid is spreading
[83:01]so his brother told him please just think about it again reconsider
[83:06]this was at night he's like okay I'll I I'll think about
[83:13]it before Muhammad hears that Al IM Hussein he's getting ready to
[83:16]leave he's packing his bags so he quickly comes IM Hussein he
[83:19]tells him my dear brother didn't you say you will reconsider why
[83:24]are youing leaving wait think about it give it some time and
[83:32]IM Hussein told his brother Muhammad yes I understand I did reconsider
[83:37]so what happened he told him my grandfather Allah came to me
[83:44]in his dream he came to me and he told me my
[83:46]dear grandson Hussein go out to kufa Allah wants to see you
[83:54]martyred in the land of kufa because this is the only way
[83:57]that you can make that change that impact that reform it doesn't
[84:01]matter if you succeed or not in that Revolution what matters is
[84:08]that your blood is shed because that is the only thing that
[84:11]will shake the Throne of bani umay just like what you see
[84:17]in Palestine no matter what was happening people were just brainwashed nothing
[84:22]was changing regarding the zionists until blood began to gush and be
[84:27]shed of these innocent people in Gaza for the first time you
[84:34]see a debate about Zionism on TV the blood of these people
[84:41]brothers and sisters is not going in vain and this is why
[84:43]I believe their blood will bring the end to Zionism and it
[84:48]was the blood of IM Hussein that brought the end to that
[84:50]corrupt regime of his time so he told him my grandfather came
[84:55]to me and he told me that Allah wants to see you
[85:01]as a Shahid as a martyr Muhammad said one word he said
[85:07]because he knew IM Hussein is not going to change his mind
[85:12]he is set on his way and he will go to carala
[85:15]IM went to carala he arrived he AR the Imam went to
[85:22]carala he was going to kufa but he was stopped before kufa
[85:24]in the land of carala it was the second day of the
[85:29]month of muharam the Imam noticed that all of a sudden the
[85:35]horses would not move that they had just positioned themselves in that
[85:39]area so the Imam knew something was going on he was told
[85:43]about carala by by his father by his brother the stories of
[85:49]carala were told to him the prophecies were told to him so
[85:52]many times he asked his companions what's the name of this area
[85:54]each one of them gave him a name until one of them
[86:02]told him the Imam raised his hand and he said oh Allah
[86:08]I seek refuge in you from which means grief which means Agony
[86:15]and balah which means tribulations this is what the word carala means
[86:19]Allah I seek refuge in you of what will happen the Imam
[86:22]tells his companions we will settle here we're not going to go
[86:26]anywhere else because this is the prophecy of my grandfather rol he
[86:30]told me that I will be killed in the land ofal by
[86:34]his own um while I am thirsty he told his companions we
[86:38]will settle here he told them oh my my companions this is
[86:57]where we will settle this is where our destiny will meet us
[87:07]and then he told [Music] them this is where the men will
[87:24]be butchered even the children will be killed and slaughtered this is
[87:33]where our woman will be taken as prisoners of War there's a
[87:40]had that narrates in history book from IM he says after my
[87:48]father settled after a couple of days it was the night of
[87:53]Ash he says I was very sick in the tent and I
[87:55]can hear my father Al IM hussein.
[87:58]entering the tent he took his sword and he began to fix
[88:03]his sword sharpen it while he was reading lines of poetry he
[88:05]began to say this he was speaking lines of poetry of how
[88:22]death will come and follow everyone and and it will never spare
[88:27]anyone so he was basically speaking as if someone that is awaiting
[88:31]their death IM says when I heard those words from my father
[88:34]Hussein I knew that the of Allah had come that he will
[88:39]be killed because the bait always hoped that maybe Allah will change
[88:43]his plan that maybe Imam Hussein will not be killed in the
[88:48]land of carala but he says when I heard those words from
[88:50]my father my eyes began to tear but I did not want
[88:55]to cry so I held myself but he says my aunt Z
[88:59]she was very very emotional she was so attached to AB abdah
[89:02]when she heard those lines from Al IM Hussein she came rushing
[89:08]to his tent and she began to cry out what are these
[89:13]words that I'm hearing from you today you have renewed my grief
[89:21]when I lost my mother FAA when I lost my father Amir
[89:24]when I lost my brother IM Hassan you're the only Remnant I
[89:30]have left of them why are you speaking in this way IM
[89:34]Hussein told the sister Z be ready for tragedy and tribulation you
[89:41]will go through so many difficulties but you have to be strong
[89:48]you have to be brave after me oh Z it was the
[89:57]day of as the narrator say im Hussein when was in his
[90:03]ditch all alone bleeding to death she came out she saw IM
[90:10]Hussein bleeding to death this is where the narrators say that she
[90:13]came out and she made everyone cry the friends and the enemies
[90:16]she went to the body of IM Hussein while he was bleeding
[90:25]to death and he she began to speak to him she told
[90:28]him my dear brother Hussein please let me hear one word from
[90:35]you before you die the Imam had lost too much energy he
[90:37]was almost going to die because of all the blood he had
[90:42]lost he told she told them my dear brother Hussein let me
[90:48]hear your voice please let me hear your voice before I die
[90:56]the Imam did not have the energy to say anything then she
[91:01]told him I ask [Music] you she invoked the name of by
[91:11]your love for please say something the Imam could not say anything
[91:14]she said I ask you in the name of our father please

[91:24]words she said I ask you by the love of our mother
[91:30]zah please say something my dear brother please one word this is

[91:57]have added to all the pain by bringing the name of my
[92:02]mother fa they say it was then that when she was talking
[92:08]to him all of the sudden she feels from behind her someone
[92:14]whipping her she looks back she sees it was Shimmer whipping and
[92:21]to add pain to the injury he started to curse and Imam
[92:32]Hussein told her my dear sister Z please go back to the
[92:39]tent and take care of the orphans few minutes brothers and sisters
