[1:08]as we are in the 21st century and we live in an
[1:20]age of advancement in science and technology with these advancements that we
[1:28]see every day we notice huge leaps in knowledge in science and
[1:35]technology the leaps that we are seeing are very different from what
[1:43]we were at 10 years ago we're not talking about a hundred
[1:46]years we're not talking about 50 years the technology that we have
[1:52]today and the level of knowledge that we are at today it's
[1:56]very different from just five or ten years ago this is how
[2:02]much we are witnessing a great difference and great leaps in technology
[2:07]of course all of this is very good there are many benefits
[2:11]with all this technology with all these advancements in medicine where we
[2:18]are today there are many positives and there are also some negatives
[2:27]for example today communication has become something very easy you can communicate
[2:31]with someone that is living 5,000 miles away with just a click
[2:37]of a button on your phone you can communicate with this person
[2:41]the ability to communicate and speak with other people has become very
[2:47]easy but has the quality of communication also become easier before you
[2:56]used to have 10 people or five people sitting in a room
[3:00]for an hour you see they're having a conversation they're talking to
[3:05]one another and our passes and there the whole time they were
[3:09]talking to one another today they're sitting five minutes they talk with
[3:14]one another then the rest 55 minutes everyone's on their phone they're
[3:19]probably chatting with one another but they're still using this technology so
[3:25]that means the quality of communication has gone even though the quantity
[3:32]has increased in the ability to talk to whoever you want wherever
[3:38]you wherever they are this is one thing another thing that we
[3:42]have noticed with all these advancements is that today we've reached an
[3:47]era where some people they'll tell you I don't need religion anymore
[3:52]religion is not relevant in my life anymore before people used to
[3:58]worship God people used to pray because they were afraid that their
[4:06]crops are going to die people they didn't they used to worship
[4:10]because they did not have the knowledge to cure their diseases the
[4:14]sick people in their society so they used to go and pray
[4:20]to God in order to cure the sick in their society whenever
[4:23]they didn't have answers to the questions of their life that is
[4:28]when they used to go to God but today we have reached
[4:33]the answers today we have the answers we have the highest technology
[4:37]we've gone to space we have the best communication medicine it has
[4:42]reached its highest and it's constantly growing so we don't need to
[4:48]worship God what's the point of worshipping what's the point of believing
[4:53]and praying to god they'll tell you you go and you look
[4:55]at religions you see your religions are all fighting every day war
[5:00]this group of people are fighting with that group of people this
[5:03]one is claiming that the land is theirs and the other one
[5:08]is saying the land is there's some will just tell you you
[5:10]know what I don't even want to deal with this anymore why
[5:12]should we have religion when all we have seen is evil and
[5:18]fighting from religion and we have the ability to cure our problems
[5:23]we have the ability to cure our challenges and this this rhetoric
[5:32]these misconceptions are not just something that I'm saying right now if
[5:36]you leave the dearborn bubble if you go to universities if you
[5:43]go to school if you're out of your safe zone you're going
[5:45]to you're going to hear this type of misconceptions you're going to
[5:51]hear this type of conversation in fact wherever you go you're going
[5:55]to hear criticism of religion religious people and any type of established
[6:01]religion we're not only talking about Islam we're talking about any established
[6:07]religion in fact this is why we see that many people have
[6:11]left religion and many people are leaving churches many people feel that
[6:16]all that they see from religion and religious places and places of
[6:20]worship is fighting and chaos and problems and they say you know
[6:25]what forget it I don't want to deal with that here in
[6:27]the United States a pew forum on religion and public life released
[6:34]a study three years ago it says that it found that twenty
[6:37]percent of americans say that they have no religious affiliation now this
[6:41]was a country that was founded on freedom of religion this was
[6:45]a country that was founded on the basis of believing in God
[6:52]people that were persecuted in Europe they came here to believe in
[6:55]God that was one of the first reasons that they came here
[7:00]that was one of their first missions they considered a pilgrimage coming
[7:05]to the United States and starting a country but today you see
[7:10]many people are leaving religion and the religious life style now the
[7:15]answer is no matter how much we have advanced in science and
[7:24]technology and medicine religion is as relevant as it is today as
[7:28]it was a hundred and a thousand years ago and in fact
[7:33]we are more in need of religion and following the true T
[7:37]that the religion the teachings of true religion in our life today
[7:41]than any other time religion has not lost its relevance religion is
[7:48]very relevant in our life today yes there are problems there are
[7:54]problems with some people in the name of religion but these people
[7:59]did not represent religion one day they've hide behind politics one day
[8:05]they hide behind governments and also one day they use religion to
[8:11]carry out their agendas and I'm alpha sayin alehissalaam he has a
[8:16]beautiful saying because when we look at the history we see who
[8:19]who killed in a min hossain and I'm in person who was
[8:24]he killed by he was killed by a group of people that
[8:28]are claiming to have religion a group of people that were preying
[8:31]on the Day of Ashura the same day that they killed the
[8:34]grandson of rasulullah sallallahu ala so here we have to understand and
[8:39]differentiate between where's true religion and wears fake religion where's religion being
[8:47]abused and used and where as the true teachings of religion and
[8:54]I meant for saying alayhi salam he says and Nassau I be
[8:58]da duniya what D no lackin Allah and sinner to him people
[9:02]they are the slaves of this dunya and religion it's used by
[9:11]their tongue to carry out their agenda one day it fits me
[9:14]I'm going to use it the other day it doesn't fit my
[9:18]agenda doesn't go in to my plan become against religion so the
[9:22]problem is not with religion itself but the problem is with people
[9:30]using religion another misconception about religion and they'll come and they'll tell
[9:35]you religion is irrelevant today is that religion in general is against
[9:40]science and science you see it right in front of you you
[9:48]see the results right in front of you you why would you
[9:52]go and believe in the unseen when you could see something right
[9:55]in front of you and believe in it yes that's true believing
[9:59]in science is very important and when we look at the history
[10:06]we see that aslam specifically the religion of Islam it was never
[10:11]against science yes there were other religions here Christianity has a history
[10:17]of being against science and that is why many people have turned
[10:21]against religion because they saw that Christianity was against science but when
[10:25]we look at the religion of Islam we see that Islam actually
[10:29]encouraged science Islam encouraged seeking knowledge and the first verse that came
[10:37]down was encouraging the Muslims and los or Las allama holla holla
[10:41]to seek knowledge o'clock learn many verses in the Quran affiliate a
[10:46]debruyne fli a balloon Fla atefeh karoon do they not ponder do
[10:51]they not think do they not use their intellect Islam is very
[10:58]much for science and encouraged Muslims to use science as a means
[11:04]to reach God we go and we look at the history in
[11:09]the 8th century you see that it was the Muslims that were
[11:12]the first to dissect it was the Muslims that were the first
[11:17]to use science it was the Muslims that were the first to
[11:20]use the scientific method by evening Haitham it was the Muslims that
[11:27]had the best mathematicians and koalas me it was the Muslims that
[11:31]had the best astronauts and medicine and geography and every field of
[11:36]science it was the Muslims that were at the forefront they were
[11:42]the pioneers of Education and seeking knowledge so Islam as a religion
[11:50]it has always been for science and today even we see right
[11:54]now there's a debate about for example stem cell research there's a
[11:57]debate about many things many types of research we go and we
[12:02]look at our scholars especially in the school of added battalion salam
[12:07]you see that they encourage this type of knowledge and they encourage
[12:12]this type of education why because we have a basic rule we
[12:17]have a basic rule in the religion of Islam and that is
[12:20]cool noche en la caja lon everything is halal unless you have
[12:26]clear proof that it's haram but we look at other religions they'll
[12:30]come and they'll tell you everything is forbidden unless you have proof
[12:34]that it is permissible in Islam it's the other way around Islam
[12:39]is a very easy religion Islam is a very accepting religion it's
[12:44]a welcoming religion and we see that the purpose of religion and
[12:50]specifically Islam it satisfies two major needs that we as humans have
[12:56]and this is why it makes it very relevant the first need
[13:04]that every single human has is the need of this materialistic lifestyle
[13:08]every single one of us has that need I'm in need of
[13:11]material i'm in need of eating i'm in need of sleeping i'm
[13:17]in need of rest i'm in need of science and technology and
[13:22]we see that that need is provided in the society you could
[13:26]live the most comfortable lifestyle when you're sick you go to the
[13:30]best doctors you go to the best hospitals you want to buy
[13:34]a house you buy the best house you built the best house
[13:36]you buy the fastest car everything that you want in the society
[13:40]you can have and this is one dimension of needs that we
[13:46]as humans are in need of however there's another dimension there's another
[13:51]aspect to this human being that we see that this society does
[13:55]not provide for us and that is the spirituality that is the
[14:04]intangible needs that we are all in need of maybe I can
[14:06]have wealth maybe I can have a fast car maybe I can
[14:11]have everything that I want in this materialistic lifestyle but can I
[14:17]have happiness can I get rid of depression can i get rid
[14:23]of stress can I find happiness we see that this materialistic lifestyle
[14:29]does not bring happiness and we see examples in our life everywhere
[14:35]that we look look at the actors look at the actresses look
[14:38]at the movie stars look at people around you you find that
[14:44]they have everything that anyone would want in this life but yet
[14:48]there's still something that you're still in search of something that they're
[14:52]still in need of and that is opal mean on that is
[14:57]the feeling of contentment that is the feeling of satisfaction and that
[15:03]feeling comes only from allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and levena a minus hot
[15:11]mallu bomba de Craye la a la vida que la tetona an
[15:15]envelope it is only through allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala that the hearts will
[15:21]find peace that the hearts will be content nothing can bring satisfaction
[15:26]if some if someone is depressed you see that they could have
[15:31]the biggest house they could have millions of dollars but you find
[15:39]that there's still a a disease in there in their hearts they're
[15:42]still not happy because happiness is a feeling and who is the
[15:47]one that controls our feelings who is malleable loop who was the
[15:54]one that controls our feelings it is allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala so maybe
[15:59]this materialistic lifestyle it can bring me some type of satisfaction but
[16:06]that satisfaction it won't give me it won't bring me a hundred
[16:10]percent satisfaction maybe if I'm sick I can go to a doctor
[16:12]but does that doctor can that doctor stop me from dying eventually
[16:20]every single one of us will die kullu manali ha fun every
[16:24]single human being is going to die and the only solution the
[16:30]only one that will bring satisfaction as a loss of hannah hoo
[16:34]allah the only one that can cure these intangible needs today with
[16:39]the advancement that we are in some people say we are not
[16:45]in need of religion some people say that religion is not relevant
[16:48]to any more but religion is very relevant because the problem is
[16:57]we have all of these advancements and technology and science and medicine
[17:03]but do you see do you see the level of morality that
[17:09]we are at today do you notice how society has lost its
[17:12]moral compass do you see how the family structure is falling apart
[17:16]today year 2014 we don't know what defines a family is it
[17:24]a man and a man a woman and a man I don't
[17:29]know what it is because there's so many people and today a
[17:32]law was passed today was a historic day in American history where
[17:38]allow was passed legalizing homosexual marriage and this just shows you where
[17:44]we are at today this just shows you where society is today
[17:48]and this is not the only thing for example there was a
[17:53]study that just came out two days ago a pure research it
[17:55]says that forty-seven percent of the French people and you know that
[18:05]France is a very secular society France is a very secular society
[18:10]forty-seven percent of French people see infidelity as morally acceptable a man
[18:15]cheats on his wife which wife cheats on her husband very okay
[18:19]forty-seven percent of the people forty-seven percent of the society in francia
[18:26]is completely okay there's no problem with it and today with the
[18:31]legalization of homosexual marriage allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala brings us a way of
[18:38]life a way of morality religion is not only for praying and
[18:42]worshiping and building a bond with Allah subhana Allah another purpose a
[18:48]very important purpose of religion as building a bond with ourselves and
[18:52]knowing how to socialize how to deal with one another Allah subhanAllah
[18:57]I like clarifies to us what a family is made out of
[19:01]I spoke about the family the other day woman I a tee
[19:05]hee I'm Halep alikum men and come as wajen toscano alaihe marriage
[19:10]is not a joke marriage it's a sign of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala
[19:14]one of the miracles of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala but today it's you
[19:22]don't even know what it is and what it what is defined
[19:27]as the religion it leads to a lifestyle the moral code of
[19:35]conduct that the religion of Islam has brought for us it brings
[19:38]us a lifestyle that brings us at peace with one another it
[19:40]gives us rules of socializing you see the rules of inheritance the
[19:47]rules of dealing with family the rules of interaction even the way
[19:52]you walk and the way that you talk everything the religion of
[19:55]Islam tells you how to live a lifestyle and that is the
[20:00]best of lifestyles this is the way that the Quran has brought
[20:04]for us yeah a ujala veena amino stage Ebola la he went
[20:08]Rasool either the Arkham lima you he come oh you people who
[20:16]believe answer the call of Allah and the Prophet for he has
[20:19]brought you a message for he has brought you a message the
[20:26]Occam lima yahiko a message that gives you life the purpose of
[20:30]religion is life and not only just simple life the purpose of
[20:37]religion is quality life but today you see a group of people
[20:40]for them and their mentality religion means death they'll come and they'll
[20:44]say oh so Allah says I was sent by the sword I
[20:48]was sent to kill people and this is the same profit that
[20:50]the Quran the holy book of allah says about him wama arsal
[20:57]naka allah muhammad and Anana mean Allah says we sent you as
[20:59]a mercy to mankind but this person who hasn't even graduated elementary
[21:06]school all he knows is just to grow his beard he'll come
[21:08]and he'll tell you the Prophet sent with the sword we see
[21:16]that religion it brings quality life the religion brings rights human rights
[21:23]basic human needs it was brought by the religion of Islam you
[21:26]look at the history you see just 200 and 300 years ago
[21:32]these civilizations finally started accepting basic human rights the Magna Carta and
[21:35]all these documents that were written this was jut what just what
[21:42]200 300 years ago you go and you look at the religion
[21:44]of Islam where Allah says yeah Johannes in halacha naw Kham min
[21:53]the current wanna come sure Albany acaba el le tofu in accra
[21:58]macomb and Allah at Arkham the best out of you in the
[22:03]eyes of Allah has the one who has the most piety Allah
[22:05]does not say the best out of you is the one who
[22:10]was white skinned or darts to endure yellow skinned but we see
[22:13]today in the most advanced country in the world a country that
[22:19]claims to be a superpower in the United States of America there
[22:22]is a huge problem that's taking place right now and every year
[22:26]single one of us is not noticing this the problem of racism
[22:32]has science has medicine has all these advancements that we are seeing
[22:36]that it's because of these advancements people say religion is not relevant
[22:40]anymore have these advancements saved us from the prejudice and the racism
[22:45]that we are experiencing every day but when you go and you
[22:50]look at the religion of Islam you see that the religion of
[22:53]Islam abolished racism and Prejudice rasool allah sallallahu alayhi ila he chose
[23:00]his spokesperson the spokesperson of islam was belong the more than the
[23:04]one who calls for adan five times a day he chose his
[23:08]spokesperson to be belong in habashi belong the Ethiopian his arabic wasn't
[23:16]even strong enough he wasn't an Arab he would stand instead of
[23:26]saying la la la la he used to say asado en la
[23:27]la la la some of the Arabs they came to rasulallah they
[23:33]would tell rasulallah salallahu alaihe la mcindoe and yvonne macaanto oven elijah
[23:41]to lobby haataja doll robin s wed you are than Alan Kaaba
[23:45]they used to say we never thought that we would reach a
[23:49]day where we see this crow this black crow standing on the
[23:52]Kaaba and performing that on what is Rasul Allah answer them Rasul
[24:00]Allah would tell them see noble Alan chignon and Allah when Bilal
[24:04]says asado a la la la la in the eyes of Allah
[24:09]this is a shadow there Allah does not discriminate the religion of
[24:14]Islam does not discriminate between us and this is the teachings of
[24:19]the religion of Islam but today do we see in 2014 has
[24:22]discrimination is long 2015 15 sorry i don't know i am so
[24:33]2014 has has this advancements in technology abolish all these problems that
[24:41]we witnessed in our life every day a loss of Hannah Montana
[24:44]gives us a plan gives us a way of life and I
[24:52]way of life is in the Quran in hidalgo na ideality here
[24:59]up one the spur on it guides to the most upright way
[25:07]in de hidalgo Ronnie ideality here a qualm y ou best Cheryl
[25:13]manin and Lavinia Amaluna Sally hat and nominal an Elohim adjourn kabira
[25:19]Allah subhana Allah has given us a way of life and in
[25:26]that veron Allah tells us how to interact and that Quran Allah
[25:29]teaches us to rip out the prejudice and the racist feelings and
[25:32]sentiments from our hearts of course we see still some Muslims continue
[25:41]to practice prejudice and we still see it in our communities we
[25:45]still see it amongst us where some places of worship are only
[25:48]for one group of people another price of work place of worship
[25:53]is only for one specific group of people but the general the
[25:56]general teachings of the religion of Islam are against racism and against
[26:01]prejudice another problem today and I will conclude shortly another problem today
[26:08]is poverty the ones that say religion is not relevant anymore has
[26:13]their way of life gotten rid of poverty has their way of
[26:20]life brought food to the stomach's of the poor people of the
[26:23]orphans of the needy today one-eighth this is according to the United
[26:31]Nations one-eighth of the 7.1 billion people in the world suffer from
[26:37]chronic undernourishment has the way of life that we are living at
[26:41]today has that gotten rid of has that abolished poverty this is
[26:45]why we need a way of life this is why we need
[26:49]role models this is why we need allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala where he
[26:53]tells us kullu wash rubble when I to Sri foo eat and
[26:59]drink and do not waste in Naju now your hey bull moose
[27:04]ravine some scholars they say that this verse is the solution to
[27:08]global more the global warming that we are witnessing today hulu or
[27:11]Abu why not just refer eat eat everything eat as much as
[27:16]you want wear whatever you want drink whatever you want do whatever
[27:20]you want but don't waste just don't waste if you have extra
[27:23]do not buy what's extra if you have extra give it to
[27:28]the needy if you live just by this verse if you just
[27:32]practice this verse you'll be living a good life style you will
[27:36]cut back poverty because allah subhana allah created us in a way
[27:40]created this earth in a way this lifestyle in a way where
[27:46]there should be no poverty a masters in the quran in ellicott
[27:49]a lot a jewel I fear well uh Tara well Nicola tough
[27:56]maafi ha well out of ha you should not go hungry you
[27:58]should not go without clothes you should not go thirsty and you
[28:04]should not be without shelter and life and in the afterlife these
[28:08]are the basic needs that Allah subhana Allah has pointed out but
[28:12]today has the way of lifestyle that we are living has that
[28:19]abolished poverty has that abolished this lifestyle that we are living today
[28:23]where there's no morality there's poverty there are people suffering all over
[28:27]the world this is why we need to go back to role
[28:32]models this is why we need to go back to rasulallah salallahu
[28:35]alaihe Ali the man who used to sit on the floor he
[28:40]used to sit on the floor and people were not able to
[28:42]distinguish is this the leader of this oma or is this just
[28:47]a normal man sitting on the ground a lady she walks in
[28:49]and she sees rasulullah sallallahu ala you island with a group of
[28:55]people she couldn't recognize who rasool allah was so she said I
[28:58]you come rasool allah hoo out of you is rasul allah because
[29:01]allah sallallahu was sitting on the ground with the group of people
[29:06]they tell her that man is Rasul Allah she goes and she
[29:10]tells him Allah katha jealous jealous Attell abid what up cool tamil
[29:14]a bead i see that you are sitting like the slaves and
[29:19]you are eating the food of the slaves he looks at her
[29:25]and he tells her what an Abba Duminy who is more of
[29:27]a slave than me am I not the slave of Allah Subhan
[29:30]Allah Ta'ala let us go back to the alan bates alehiwassallaam the
[29:34]group of people who slept hungry for three nights so that they
[29:39]can feed one night an orphan another night a needy another night
[29:46]a war captive a non-muslim war captive these are our role models
[29:51]these are the people that we should go back to so that
[29:53]we can live an upright lifestyle a lifestyle of peace a lifestyle
[30:02]of dignity and a lifestyle of building a and with allah subhanahu
[30:07]wa'ta'ala well hamdu lillahi rabbil alameen allah allah muhammad o Allah elevator
[30:12]player be not partying
