[1:13]Allah [Music] hmm respected Scholars brothers and sisters what's the prophet peace

[1:27]be upon him and his family a man who was Bewitched did

[1:31]a magic spell effect for rasulallah was he a man who was

[1:39]under the black magic of someone in his community indeed such a

[1:44]question arises when one examines the Hadith narrated by Aisha wife of

[1:51]the Prophet inside indeed this Hadith raises a number of question marks

[1:58]on the infallibility of the holy prophet peace be upon him and

[2:02]his family because we know that every single School in the religion

[2:06]of Islam adores and reveres the holy prophet peace be upon him

[2:09]and his family irrespective of whichever sect you follow irrespective of whichever

[2:15]School you follow you'll find that at one stage or another in

[2:22]your life you will always mention his name every single Muslim in

[2:27]the world today in one way or the other will always say

[2:29]yes because each and every Muslim aspires to try and follow his

[2:48]teachings each and every Muslim has that reverence towards him towards his

[2:53]character but the reality is that this Hadith highlights that there is

[2:58]a clear difference between the depiction of the holy prophet peace be

[3:02]upon him in his family in the different schools of the religion

[3:04]of Islam because if you were to ask any Muslim in the

[3:09]world today each and every one of them would want to look

[3:11]after the image of rasulullah quite literally and metaphorically as in literally

[3:18]a person you will see a riot or demonstrate if they saw

[3:24]for example that someone drew a depiction of rasulullah or that someone

[3:32]mocked rasulullah if now in Paris for example a magazine makes fun

[3:37]of the Prophet then automatically every Muslim would be insulted that how

[3:42]could you say for example is a man affected by Satan a

[3:50]man who's the Antichrist a man who calls War a man of

[3:53]lust a man of many marriages no muslim would ever allow for

[3:59]the image of rasulullah to be insulted because for every Muslim you

[4:05]would find them saying that the purest greatest man who was untainted

[4:12]in his character was the holy prophet peace be upon him his

[4:17]family that's why for example when we look at the Bible in

[4:20]contrast to the Quran in the Bible the way some prophets are

[4:23]tainted is something that we'd never accept when I see in the

[4:31]Bible for example Noah becoming drunk or I see lots sleeping with

[4:37]his daughters and committing incest or I see getting the general killed

[4:45]so that he could commit Zina with his wife naturally such depictions

[4:51]are things I'll never accept if someone today came and said to

[4:55]you that nabida Awards committed adultery would you accept it or not

[4:59]you'd never accept it if someone came and told you Nabi Nur

[5:04]was a drunkard would you accept it or no no chance if

[5:06]someone came and told you that Lord committed incest you'll never accept

[5:14]it therefore for us every prophet of God is someone who A

[5:18]was Guided by God be purified by God see shaytan could never

[5:27]affect them shaytan no doubt was an enemy to each and every

[5:30]one of them there is no doubt that every prophet of God

[5:35]there was shaytan trying to get in the way of that Prophet

[5:37]but there is no way for us that a shaytan could ever

[5:43]get to them Ibrahim all of them one by one were seen

[5:49]as being pure and infallible when I therefore come to the greatest

[5:56]of those prophets peace be upon him in his family and I

[5:59]ask any Muslim in the world today that you believe that rasool

[6:07]Allah could be ever affected for example Bewitched for example Satan affects

[6:14]him for example then you'll see that all Muslims will say to

[6:17]you no way the prophet is the greatest creation of God no

[6:20]one comes near the prophet there's no way the prophet could be

[6:26]Bewitched you say to them why they'll say to you well if

[6:28]the prophet for example could be affected by Satan then there's no

[6:34]way that I'll know what of his message is from God and

[6:37]what of his messages from Satan if now you say to me

[6:42]for example that the prophet peace be upon him in his family

[6:45]was affected by what was affected by black magic then I'll turn

[6:48]around to you and I'll say to you then I cannot trust

[6:53]the message this Hadith in question highlights a major problem why because

[7:00]when I read that says that the prophet was Bewitched straight away

[7:07]I begin to reassess the whole of my understanding of prophethood even

[7:13]then at the same time I began to ask myself a question

[7:20]that is that in my conception of nobua and rasala what is

[7:24]the definition of a Nabi and a rasul when every Muslim in

[7:31]the world today you hear them talking for example about Shia Sunni

[7:34]Unity how many times do you hear people saying that we should

[7:40]have Shia Sunni Unity no doubt we should have shiason Unity on

[7:44]the social level every single one of us irrespective of our differences

[7:48]socially we all need to coexist peacefully but on the theological level

[7:55]when a person says and you always hear this either from them

[7:59]but or from someone at home where they say that we all

[8:05]believe in the same God and we all believe in the same

[8:12]Prophet at that moment I beg to differ why because when I

[8:16]examine such hadiths I begin to ask is the prophet of the

[8:22]Shia the same as the prophet of other schools in Islam because

[8:25]for me when I come to my Prophet peace be upon his

[8:31]family I have a certain criteria of what that Prophet is When

[8:35]someone tells me all Muslims agree on the prophet I say yes

[8:41]all Muslims agree on him being the final prophets of God all

[8:45]Muslims agree on him being the greatest but not all Muslims agree

[8:52]about the purity of his life there is a difference between the

[8:59]way the Shia represents rasulullah and any other school how many times

[9:04]do you hear other schools what do they say to you other

[9:06]schools in Islam say to you that you she I don't respect

[9:10]to rasulullah as much as you respect his family don't you hear

[9:14]that sometimes even in our own families you'll hear people saying that

[9:19]why don't ushia mention rasulullah more our brothers and other schools in

[9:24]Islam seem to mention him more than we do seem to respect

[9:30]him more than we do seem to honor him more than we

[9:32]do I say to them have you opened bukhari and Muslim or

[9:38]not have you opened these works or not because for me when

[9:44]I examined this Hadith of Aisha shortly for me this isn't a

[9:48]topic to break the Muslim Community because someone might say that why

[9:52]can't we focus on the rasulallah why can't we focus on the

[9:57]lessons from the life of rasulullah for me it's not about not

[10:05]focusing on those things I'm sure in the past I've given a

[10:07]couple of lectures on those things but for me discussing this topic

[10:15]is a topic of Salvation why because ultimately if I want to

[10:20]protect the image of rasulullah the work has to start at home

[10:26]not outside at the end of the day if I see Charlie

[10:29]hebdoor writing in their magazine something mocking rasulullah or I see in

[10:35]a syllabus in a school in Bradford or in Birmingham someone saying

[10:41]something against the prophet before I go and correct the non-muslim maybe

[10:46]I need to correct my own books about rasulullah how many times

[10:52]have you seen the Muslims get angry when a non-muslim insults the

[10:57]character of their prophet and they demonstrate and they write petitions and

[11:02]they stand outside schools Habibi first clean up the work in your

[11:08]own house before you clean up the community at the beginning first

[11:12]look at your own literature and then go and tell others not

[11:17]to insult rasulullah when we look at this Hadith therefore tonight we'll

[11:22]realize that the way rasulullah is depicted in other schools in Islam

[11:33]is different from the way let us tonight examine the image of

[11:43]rasool Allah in Sunni and Shia literature and see the difference that

[11:48]exists between the rasulullah of Imam of others and I'd like to

[11:57]examine this in the following stages number one this Hadith what does

[12:01]Aisha say happen to the prophet peace be upon him and his

[12:07]family number two if rasulullah could be Bewitched then how could I

[12:11]trust what comes out of the words and the mouth of this

[12:14]man number three why did Salman Rushdie write the Satanic Verses and

[12:20]which verses were meant to be affected because of shaytan's influence on

[12:32]him number four what if there are such things in my Shia

[12:36]books do I accept them automatically or do I make it clear

[12:54]therefore how do I Define what is that number seven how do

[13:03]I Define the infallibility of the family of rasulullah sallallahu alaihi and

[13:11]finally what's the biggest insults on rasulullah a French magazine or the

[13:17]butchering of his grandchildren let's examine this and dissect the topic in

[13:22]complete depth arguably the true most famous books in the Muslim World

[13:31]irrespective of whatever method you follow there's no doubt that if you're

[13:36]Shia or not Shia you would have heard of bukhari and Muslim

[13:39]as in sometimes I used to always say that some Shia are

[13:44]able to name you bukhari and Muslim and they cannot name you

[14:08]reality is Muslim are amongst the most famous works inside this Hadith

[14:14]is narrated by Aisha the wife of rasool Allah says Aisha says

[14:24]that the prophet was Bewitched Hadith clear the prophet was Bewitched he

[14:43]was Bewitched and then he began to imagine that he had done

[14:51]something which he actually had not done at all imagine if I

[14:55]read that Hadith that the prophet peace be upon him in his

[14:58]family was Bewitched how was he Bewitched let's see what it says

[15:03]Ali came to me one day and he had fallen under a

[15:12]magic spell listen to this wonderful narration of your Prophet Focus here

[15:23]a magic spell said he begun to think that he had done

[15:28]something which he had not done so he said to me that

[15:36]I have prayed to Allah and Allah has given me the cure

[15:42]for this magic that's affected me what was the Cure he said

[15:48]I saw a man sitting by my head and another man sitting

[15:52]by my feet and the two of them were talking to each

[15:56]other in front of me this is your Prophet not my your

[16:02]prophet the two of them were talking to each other rasulallah I

[16:04]just want you to imagine your Prophet sitting and he's just seen

[16:08]two random guys there and one is talking to the other and

[16:13]what are they saying to each other what's wrong with this guy

[16:17]says he's been Bewitched says by who says he said and how

[16:27]he said with a comb with some hair on it and the

[16:36]pollen of a male Palm dates then he said then what happened

[16:42]said then after that where was this placed it was placed in

[16:49]the bottom of a well that eyes placed it there it was

[17:01]there at the bottom of the well she said did you take

[17:03]it out he said no Allah removed the magic from me and

[17:08]then having removed the magic I didn't want to take it out

[17:14]because I didn't want that evil to possibly affect my people let's

[17:18]examine this Hadith step by step firstly what does it say The

[17:22]Prophet was Bewitched he begun to think that he had done something

[17:28]which he had not actually done in English that normally is called

[17:32]hallucination would you agree or no that could also go to borderline

[17:40]schizo if not bipolar on a different level would you agree or

[17:45]no that the person says I think I've done this I haven't

[17:51]done this even it may go towards OCD Masha Allah my Prophet

[17:55]has fulfilled the whole of the DSM criteria on the one hand

[18:00]he is what on the one hand hallucinating did I didn't I

[18:04]this is what we call Shaq Central then after that I'm not

[18:11]sure maybe I did it it's black magic it's been affecting me

[18:14]then after that what was the issue by the way that he

[18:19]was uncertain about that he thinks he did but he's not sure

[18:34]me and you who are not prophets of God do we discuss

[18:46]private life isn't it you'll never tell anyone about what's happening in

[18:50]your private life the unusual thing about bukhari and Muslim is that

[18:58]they don't have a problem mentioning what they don't have a problem

[19:04]mentioning the private bedroom life of rasool Allah in which sense in

[19:09]the sense that if rasulullah was in a state of janaba they'll

[19:16]say the prophet was in a state of janaba me and you

[19:18]sitting over here we will not even tell our closest that we're

[19:23]in a state of Jannah but there's a certain line of the

[19:27]language that we use I will not say for example that I

[19:31]was in a stage of Jannah but nor will I reveal it

[19:34]as a Hadith for the public to find out because when you

[19:39]are the wife of rasulullah the Quran says a you are not

[19:48]like any other wives if you have taqwa if you truly have

[19:55]taqwa you are not like any other of the wives but if

[19:59]that taqwa begins to go then you are like any other lady

[20:01]firstly the bedroom is discussed the state of janaba is blatantly discussed

[20:09]this life and I'm not going to use all the language that

[20:14]I can use because the crowd ages is too varied Masha Allah

[20:18]even the life of the wives of rasulullah how many wives did

[20:27]rasulallah he had a number of wives some might mention 9 10

[20:32]11.

[20:33]rasulullah was hallucinating over what was I with this wife no I

[20:38]was with her no I was with her actually was I with

[20:46]her what's happened to him he's been affected by what by black

[20:52]magic now black magic at the best of times has no such

[20:54]thing and no such effect on us normally black magic is one

[20:59]of those grandmother stories that you hear yes sometimes you hear a

[21:04]marriage someone saying that you know what I think I have magic

[21:06]that's been done on Me baba there's no magic done on you

[21:10]number one in many cases you're not worth Magic being done on

[21:15]you you may Allah bless you have given yourself too high a

[21:19]status there is no one in the world who's envious of you

[21:21]you have to get this into your head quickly in many cases

[21:26]when a person says Wallah I have so much has it for

[21:32]what for what what's the hazard for in some cases you might

[21:35]find yes there might be someone in your family who does go

[21:41]to one of these witch doctors or goes to one of these

[21:44]people and says listen is there any way listen to how the

[21:48]Hadith says it blatantly you know sometimes you'll find someone tells me

[21:52]said and I get many of these messages where people say to

[21:55]me I've been affected by black magic and these messages I must

[22:00]be very truthful here many of these messages when they reach me

[22:04]I forward it straight to another mawlana the mawlana's I forwarded to

[22:09]many of them call me they're like you won't believe it in

[22:12]the last month I've had a sudden increase of black magic questions

[22:15]yes many of them don't know that I forwarded it straight away

[22:21]why because when you read it what does it say I found

[22:25]some hair in my room while there's a good chance there could

[22:28]be hair in your room at the end of the day the

[22:33]hair does fall off every once in a while someone says there

[22:35]was a whole bunch of hair in my room whole bunch of

[22:41]hair in the room yes it could happen from yourself and yes

[22:47]it may even happen that you may have an auntie there's always

[22:49]that one auntie in the wedding photo who's giving a dirty look

[22:51]when you're smiling you've seen that Uno you look at the wedding

[22:56]photos and you see everyone smiling there's one like that that Auntie

[23:02]just because she's looking like that at you doesn't mean that she's

[23:06]doing black magic on you black magic cannot affect you if you

[23:14]are a someone of tahara and not najasa yes if you are

[23:18]someone who's Tahir there is no najasa in your house then black

[23:24]magic will come nowhere near you be if you're someone who pays

[23:27]sadaka black magic will never affect you see if you are someone

[23:33]who reads the Quran in your house black magic will not affect

[23:36]you therefore I ask all of you if you say that was

[23:47]Bewitched if I look at that criteria if someone has a house

[23:52]of tahara they can never be affected by black magic how about

[23:58]the man Allah purified that's number one number two if someone pays

[24:03]sadaka that black magic cannot affect them how about the man for

[24:06]whom is Haram for him to take for he is the meaning

[24:13]of honor the meaning of dignity number three if black magic cannot

[24:17]affect someone who recites the Quran in their house how about the

[24:21]man who came with the Quran therefore what does the Hadith say

[24:27]she says that the prophet said to affect Muhammad how could someone

[24:36]random affects a man who went from a young age everyone focus

[24:40]on this from a young age a man who was protected by

[24:46]jibra Ilan Mikhail do you know Halima sadiya what she says from

[24:52]the age of one he used to speak when I'd put food

[24:59]in front of him he would as soon as he sees that

[25:06]food he would say Bismillah Muhammad and then when he'd finish food

[25:17]say this was a man that when he would walk the Heat

[25:22]and the colds could never touch him you know rasulullah could never

[25:28]be affected by heat or cold it was a much as I

[25:30]given to him in his childhood number three this was a man

[25:36]that whenever he'd be in a house the light would shine up

[25:39]the heavens and the Earth in front of him number four this

[25:44]was a man when he was so young as soon as he

[25:45]touched a tree the leaves of that tree would Blossom I ask

[25:50]you a man like that who was a prophet of Allah from

[25:55]the day that he was born could a man like that be

[25:59]affected by the random black magic of a random person there is

[26:04]no way Allah who protected rasulullah in every aspect of his life

[26:12]no way that rasulullah could be Bewitched for these reasons therefore for

[26:17]us when I look at Muslim both of them narrate that rasulullah

[26:24]was Bewitched another Point that's then I don't know when he tells

[26:34]me about something whether he has been affected by magic or whether

[26:37]he's getting this from True at the end of the day if

[26:43]you know somebody who hallucinates everybody focus on this point if you

[26:48]know someone who hallucinates oh you know someone schizo you know someone

[26:52]bipolar when they come and tell you something what's the first thing

[26:58]you think I think he's on it again true honestly there are

[27:01]some people you meet he comes and tells you something you're like

[27:05]um there's a reason his eyes are red tonight Masha Allah and

[27:10]there's a reason he sprayed the whole car as soon as say

[28:06]Sunni Brothers all believe in the same Prophet I say yes but

[28:10]my Prophet will never be Bewitched that's number one number two what

[28:14]does it go on to say firstly rasulullah Bewitched what else does

[28:21]the other school in Islam say rasulullah could be affected by shaytan

[28:26]when verses are revealed on him how many of you you could

[28:29]even put your hands up how many of you have heard of

[28:34]the famous book The Satanic Verses yes the Satanic Verses caused uproar

[28:38]especially in this part of the world about how many years ago

[28:45]about 35 years ago if you were living in Manchester or you

[28:48]were living in Bradford or you were living across the UK Salman

[28:52]Satanic Verses was literally being burnt in the streets why did you

[28:56]write a book called Satanic Verses he didn't write it because he

[29:03]randomly came up with the name in Sunni thought there were certain

[29:06]Scholars who had narrated that when certain Ayers of Surah were revealed

[29:15]to the prophet peace be upon him and his family shaytan came

[29:19]in the middle of the revelation of those ayahs many of you

[29:23]have read those ayahs in the Quran when the ayahs talk about

[29:32]alert and it talks about who and it talks about other all

[29:36]of the idols of quraish and then it says what that shaytan

[29:40]affected rasulullah when these ayahs of Surah were being revealed imagine the

[29:46]holy prophet would have verses of Quran revealed to him whenever verses

[29:51]would be revealed the prophet would recite those verses all of a

[29:58]sudden when he mentioned which were the gods of quraish the idols

[30:03]of quraish they say shaytan affected him by saying what ola these

[30:30]are the Lords or the idols the highest ones and I seek

[30:37]their intercession imagine this isn't where in Muslim books where another school

[30:44]in Islam and that's why Salman rushti when he titled the book

[30:48]what was the title in Arabic because he said in Islamic literature

[30:58]you guys say your books say stop saying non-muslims insult him your

[31:05]books say that the man a was Bewitched the man be shaytan

[31:56]the difference between me and him for us there is no way

[32:02]that rasulullah or any prophets of Allah could ever be affected by

[32:09]shaytan in any way number two number three Number One Bewitched number
