[13:45]of Ramadan we're very lucky and we're very fortunate and to have

[13:49]been given the gift of life we lived through the month of

[13:53]Rajab and the month of Shaban and Allah in his kindness he

[13:58]has given us life and during the month of Ramadan and Allah

[14:02]Ta'ala in this month has revealed his book the book of guidance

[14:09]the Rope of Allah it is the month of blessings into the

[14:12]month of mercy and in it we are the guests of Allah

[14:16]and we have to be thankful for this tonight inshallah we are

[14:19]going to have an opportunity to recite oh I lifted ah together

[14:26]but before that I wanted to mention a few words as a

[14:29]reminder for myself and all of you about one of the themes

[14:33]of the month of Ramadan and then after the do I'll inshallah

[14:35]we'll have a bit of an interactive portion Allah in his book

[16:11]is that it's a repentance where somebody says that I am repenting

[16:15]to Allah I'm seeking forgiveness for something I've done and I'm not

[16:21]going to go back again meaning that I'm fully dedicating myself to

[16:26]worshipping Allah the mistakes that I made I'm not just half-heartedly saying

[16:30]that I'm not going to go back to that no I sincerely

[16:35]and it completely I'm now dedicating my heart and my being to

[16:39]Allah Ta'ala in one hadith Rasul Allah Allah Allah how Allah says

[16:43]that a Toba which is Nasu it's like the example of taking

[16:48]milk from an udder you know how they get milk they get

[16:53]milk from like the utter of a cow and once that milk

[16:54]comes out it's not going to go back again and again so

[16:58]in the hadith the Prophet actually says that the Toba which is

[17:01]no so is like that one where somebody is not going to

[17:05]go back to what they were before in the same way that

[17:08]you can't take milk that's come out and put it back in

[17:12]again so just if you wanted to give a visual analogy that

[17:14]would help us to picture what does it mean to have that

[17:20]type of sincere repentance so here we are in the month of

[17:22]Ramadan the month of Ramadan is a month of making our relationship

[17:29]with Allah sincere and pure this is from the words of say

[17:32]the Fatima those are honest and I mean she says that Allah

[17:36]has made fasting to be something which is tough beaten Lily glass

[17:40]it's something which is to strengthen our alas attention our southern our

[17:45]sincerity and it's the month in which a lot a DES has

[17:51]invited us to come to him to turn to him and one

[17:51]of the things that we would like to be thinking about during

[17:55]this month is how can we achieve a Toba which is sincere

[17:58]how can we fully turn to allah now in order to understand

[18:04]that we have to ask ourselves that what is it that we're

[18:06]turning to other than allah meaning that what is the cause of

[18:13]our neglecting a lot of commands and disobeying him there's a beautiful

[18:18]poem that's written by one of the famous Islamic Muslim poets by

[18:23]the name of Saudi and it's a very deep poem and there's

[18:27]a story behind it that I wanted to share with you tonight

[18:29]I found it inspiring and maybe you can find that inspiring as

[18:35]well Saudi says that there was a man who used to worship

[18:37]idols and he was really into his idol worship there was one

[18:43]Idol in particular he spent years worshiping this Idol you know he

[18:48]would pay this Idol like all the respect okay he would he

[18:53]would go and like pay homage to it he would even get

[18:56]to the point where he would lie down on the ground and

[19:00]he would just start to like worship the idol he would kiss

[19:05]it he would love this Idol for years and years he took

[19:07]care of this idol and he worshiped it then something happened in

[19:11]this man's life and he really needed something right he really needed

[19:17]help so you said that well what better thing do I have

[19:20]to do I've dedicated my life towards serving this idol let me

[19:25]go to the idol and ask for help so goes to the

[19:26]idol and says that you know me right I'm the one who

[19:31]has been taking care of you this whole time I've you know

[19:36]you know been paying homage to you I've like bowed to you

[19:39]I've kissed you all these years now I need you to do

[19:43]something for me and here's the request I have so he states

[19:45]his request in front the idol but the idol keeps on staring

[19:49]in him just like it always does it's just an angle so

[20:19]angry and he starts like beating up the idol it's like no

[20:20]this is I can't stand this anymore and then he threatens the

[20:26]idol he says that if you don't help me then I am

[20:28]going to turn to Allah and Allah is going to help me

[20:35]now at that point there was something that sparked in his heart

[20:39]he realized that all this time he had been fascinated and attached

[20:47]to something that was other than Allah and the only one who

[20:51]can help him in this circumstance that he's in is Allah Tala

[20:54]no one else's idol is nothing and so at that point when

[20:59]he opened up his heart to Allah he went and he beat

[21:03]up the idol that was a time that Allah answered his door

[21:06]and this man who had worship idols all of his life he

[21:12]turned into somebody who worshiped Allah and his doll was granted now

[21:16]there was a an Alim who according to the story that Saudi

[21:22]said there was an Adam who was living nearby and he knew

[21:25]about this Idol worshipper he knew that he was like really you

[21:29]know kinda keen on worshiping this Idol and he knew that this

[21:33]Idol worshipper had a problem as well and he saw how this

[21:35]problem was solved and he realized that this Idol worshipper turned to

[21:42]Allah to get his problem solved so this question comes into his

[21:45]mind he says that oh Allah this man has spent his whole

[21:50]life worshiping someone other than you why is it that you answered

[21:53]his door so fast just like that and as he was going

[21:58]about doing his things the answer came to him what was the

[22:01]answer the answer was then how could we have turned him away

[22:07]because if we had turned him away then there would be no

[22:10]difference between the idol and us you know speaking in the Royal

[22:14]wheat that's how society says it there would be no difference between

[22:18]the idol and Allah no sadly gives us that story and it's

[22:20]something to make us think you know I think it's very appropriate

[22:24]for the month Ramadan it's a deep thing here then we can

[22:27]ask ourselves then what are we worshiping this is the time for

[22:32]us to turn our hearts to Allah we don't want to fall

[22:35]short we don't want to be people who say that no I

[22:38]just want to I just want this much I I'm I want

[22:43]to limit myself to just this or to that you know one

[22:44]of the biggest idols that people worship is the idol of themselves

[22:49]they do what they want and they forget that they are a

[22:53]servant they need to worship Allah there is once a man who

[22:59]was living the life and he was partying all the time and

[23:01]you know he had music playing at his home and there was

[23:08]dancing going on he was drinking alcohol and it was in the

[23:10]city of Baghdad and it was at the time of Imam Musa

[23:13]Dagh Damania Sonam and almost like Adam happened to be walking down

[23:16]the street and he passed by this man's home and he heard

[23:21]the type of like you know music and merrymaking and haram you

[23:24]know sort of merrymaking that was going on in the home it

[23:27]just so happened that one of the servants of this man came

[23:29]out at that time to throw out some garbage he asked the

[23:34]servant he says that that man who's in the home is he

[23:37]a free man or a slave so she says she's puzzled by

[23:41]the question because it's clear that you know I mean it's an

[23:45]owner of the house he would be the free man so she

[23:48]says that well he's a free man so the mama Aslam says

[23:50]that ha ha that that makes sense definitely he considers himself to

[23:53]be a free man because if he thought himself as being a

[23:59]slave he wouldn't be acting like this so he goes along and

[24:02]this servant when she goes back inside the home she you know

[24:18]you my master was a free person or a slave and I

[24:31]right there he realized that his whole life he had been worshiping

[24:36]something that was you know an illusion he thought himself as a

[24:40]free person he thought that he could be his own master but

[24:45]in reality he's not somebody who lives that type of life the

[24:49]most that they get out of life is that you know just

[24:53]merrymaking and these type of things so this was a moment of

[24:56]awakening for him it was a moment of like of connecting to

[25:01]his true essence is true nature he runs out of the home

[25:04]without him putting on his shoes and he chases after the man

[26:08]something much better located for something which is infinite we created for

[57:48]that if I am your enemy and you don't want to give

[57:52]water to me then at least give some water to this baby

[57:59]after all what has he done to you it's as if they

[58:12]still a human being who still has a heart or would you

[58:17]deprive water to the thirsty mouths of a baby but instead of

[60:59]a very wonderful and touching poem you can read it on the

[61:02]screen and I will also read it out loud look what's starting

[61:08]it's the month of Ramadan we have to fast and read Quran

[61:12]every morning we do so hor and don't forgive don't forget to

[61:19]give money to the poor we should break our fast at night

[61:22]and make sure there is not light if we lie back bite

[61:28]or fight then our fast is not right wah wah that's that's

[61:34]that's a really much I love profound line we should break our

[66:36]okay like trying something painting something writing a poem it might be

[66:40]reciting something it might be I'd really don't know I'm not a

[66:45]very artistic person myself you guys I'm sure I'm much more than

[66:47]I am so whatever you know whatever works but make sure you

[66:49]submit it in time and there are prizes and that will be

[66:54]also given as well it's on the poster in Schad looking forward

[66:57]to a lot of participation last time when we had this with

[67:01]the 15th of Shaban I was like blown away by what our

[67:05]children were able to do and it was very inspiring to see

[67:07]everyone the winners were awesome but everyone else was awesome as well

[67:13]this time we're looking forward to everyone's participation and also the adult
