[0:05]d all right so last week we were speaking about uh most
[0:53]of the class revolved around certain questions that were asked we were
[0:58]still reading the tradition of IM am and we got near the
[1:04]end of the uh narration so today inah we'll complete the narration
[1:09]and we'll realize that the narration will lead us to a topic
[1:15]pertaining to Allah's Justice subhana wa tala and this is truly one
[1:22]of the beautiful uh features or traits in Islam as you're dissecting
[1:27]a particular topic that topic leads you somewhere else so uh let's
[1:33]continue the tradition we're almost finished with IM Hussein's tradition and then
[1:39]we'll see what is this part which will lead us to the
[1:44]justice of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala let me send it to you
[1:53]send you the Hadith again it's found in the book The IM
[2:00]after explaining he says he is Allah we said means the master
[2:08]who was sought by the Creations for the Fulfillment of their needs
[2:12]he is the one who does not come from anything and he
[2:18]is not inside anything and he's not on anything or on top
[2:25]of anything he is the creator of the matters of the things
[2:32]he is the the one who created these things when they did
[2:35]not have a previous model he is the one who created the
[2:43]matters the things with his power uh we said last week that
[2:50]Allah's power is his own self there's no difference between Allah's power
[2:55]and his own essence so the im here mentions that Allah subhana
[3:11]wa ta'ala creates certain matters and wishes that these matters these things
[3:19]perish a very clear example on this regard is the human being
[3:26]Allah creates the human and wishes that the human goes through death
[3:33]right so that is a that is a manifestation of uh of
[3:37]of perishing J although Technically when you die you're not becoming inexistent
[3:44]you still exist simply what's happening is the soul is being disconnected
[3:48]from the body but the soul continues to live in the world
[3:53]of the Hereafter however in this world you're considered what dead you're
[4:00]gone in this world in aun so you still exist in in
[4:03]the other world in fact your life over there uh if you're
[4:09]a m if if you are a m who a Believer who
[4:14]is righteous your life over there is a million times more beautiful
[4:17]and better than your life over here right and the beauty is
[4:25]those who die the who pass away and even the kuf they're
[4:28]connected to both worlds they're connected to because they live in but
[4:33]they're also connected to how so well if if uh uh Allah
[4:40]subhanahu wa ta'ala allows them they can visit their relatives and were
[4:48]told in the Traditions that Allah that they're given permission Allah allows
[4:54]them to visit their relatives yes the believer Witnesses his relatives in
[5:01]his state that makes him happy the disbeliever witnesses his relatives in
[5:05]a state that makes him sad or disturbed so it's as if
[5:07]it's in addition to his punishment makes sense but they're connected to
[5:14]both worlds when you go and you visit the as we said
[5:17]earlier they they hear you as we said before they hear you
[5:23]they know about you that you've come to visit them or there
[5:36]are multiple possibilities here they might see them in a bad state
[5:41]for example they see their relatives fighting with each other so they
[5:48]get bothered you know or they see their relatives in a miserable
[5:53]state they're homeless they're you know they're um they don't have any
[5:58]food they're uh sad and depressed or there's a third possibility this
[6:03]one's quite interesting and that is they witness their relatives as they're
[6:09]obeying Allah subhana wa taala so they feel regret why didn't we
[6:13]do the same why didn't we obey Allah subhana because they know
[6:18]now that they've moved to they know the the value of obeying
[6:24]Allah I have a question yes when you say the witness you
[6:31]mean while they are in the other world while they're dead right
[6:35]it's not like you know okay no problem where we are conscious
[6:56]then how does that happen it's it's in the real world so
[7:01]as we are um indulging in our daily activities or weekly activities
[7:07]the the diseases they come in they witness us they see us
[7:11]them I I didn't say we feel them yeah yeah they they
[7:17]basically watch us uh whilst we don't or might not feel them
[7:21]make sense yeah wait it's for them yeah I you're saying and
[7:31]know like let let like my parents are they passed away so
[7:37]your parents too um so you're saying also and your brother so
[7:44]I'm yeah they can come here and see me like yes exactly
[7:47]they visit you they visit me but is it only on Fridays
[7:52]or any other day it depends on their status in the eyes
[7:55]of Allah subhana wa ta'ala depending on their status they'll be granted
[8:02]more or less permission to visit in better terms their visits will
[8:07]be more or less frequent oh interesting okay okay so um what
[8:16]brought us to this topic the word of the IM he says
[8:21]some Creations Allah wishes that they go through F that they perish
[8:29]and so they go through F they they get scattered and they
[8:34]perish with Allah's will he says Allah wishes that they go through
[8:41]this he says however that Allah subhana wa tala creates certain creations
[8:48]and wishes that they remain in existence or that they remain alive
[8:57]for example uh whatever or whoever continues to exist whatever or whoever
[9:03]continues to live exists or lives through Allah's hel through Allah's knowledge
[9:09]or say due to Allah's knowledge so Allah knows that this individual
[9:16]that that he will allow this individual to exist and he will
[9:25]allow for his existence to continue or Allah knows that he will
[9:29]allow this individual to continue living hence whatever Allah subhana wa tala
[9:35]knows takes place an example of this is right ultimately will die
[9:47]what are your words based on quranic verse right Allah says every
[9:55]soul shall taste death so technically should die just as we all
[10:00]die but has living for a very long time in and continues
[10:06]to live he is the companion of IM during his also has
[10:13]been living for over a millennium has been living for more than
[10:20]two millenniums for over more than two millenniums um so who granted
[10:32]these aah these close slaves of God permission to to live Allah
[10:37]subhana and Allah knew he always knew that he was going to
[10:45]Grant to live he was going to grant them permission to live
[10:50]for uh a long time now keep the word of the IM
[11:05]in mind because this word is going to bring us to the
[11:10]topic pertaining to Justice let me just finish the Hadith and then
[11:13]we'll get to that topic so he says that is Allah and
[11:24]he is a interestingly abdah says my friends is a word we
[11:34]call in Arabic grammar is okay so it's used to point to
[11:41]a particular matter now is of different kinds we have all right
[11:48]now some as are used to point the things that are close
[11:54]some Asma are used to point to things that are somewhat distant
[11:58]and some Asma are used to point to things that are more
[12:02]distant like what like or right this man for example this lady
[12:13]this is used to point to someone who's CL okay in the
[12:21]Quran Allah tells Adam don't approach this tree and by saying had
[12:32]it seems that the tree is close by the end of the
[12:37]story he says didn't I tell you not to approach that tree
[12:42]and now the tree is po there's a reason why it became
[12:47]for all of a sudden yes no his his his status actually
[13:01]elevated Adam we explained the issue of Adam in previous lessons you
[13:09]can find them online inah uh based on aith by IM Adam
[13:13]did not approach the same tree he approached the same kind of
[13:19]tree but it was not the exact same tree he went he
[13:21]was told not to go to makes sense so the the type
[13:25]of tree was the same but it wasn't the same tree that
[13:29]he was told not to approach uh so here we were saying
[13:39]are two words called uh two words from and they're used in
[13:48]reference of something that is close however that thing is used for
[13:56]something that's somewhat distant if you want to refer to something that
[14:01]is more distant you say Ora is masculine is feminine so you
[14:10]say right says in that book but Allah says it's it's quite
[14:22]far the book is far here he says why why do you
[14:33]think he would say that is Allah and he's indicating that Allah
[14:39]T is far when we know Allah T is not physical so
[14:44]he's not physically far from anything abdah he's impossible to reach with
[14:56]our minds okay that's a good answer physically you can't reach him
[15:00]because he's not physically subh mentally you can't reach him because you
[15:04]can't fully comprehend himed what was your answer exist so your answer
[15:22]is close to um ABD uh basally build all the time that
[15:32]the has spent the of Allah we don't share those so in
[15:35]that context we far from he's far from us nice nice so
[15:44]Allah subhana wa tala is far in the sense that we can't
[15:51]reach him with our intellects we can't comprehend him and he's far
[15:56]in the sense that he is greater than what we imagine Allah
[16:01]subhana tala as as as much as we understand of him his
[16:07]reality is much greater than what we've understood hence we say allahar
[16:11]God is greater greater than what than to be described as IM
[16:15]says so this is why he says he's he's far in that
[16:24]sense but he's also he's because because as we said I'm going
[16:28]to repeat myself because mentally you can't reach him he's greater than
[16:32]what you can understand so you'll never fully comprehend Allah subhana wa
[16:41]ta'ala but at the same time he's K because wherever you are
[16:45]he's with you he he knows about you he has dominion over
[16:50]you and he's also K in the sense that he's merciful with
[16:55]you he's your friend he's your companion he's there for you when
[16:59]ever you need him is there a time in which we don't
[17:03]need Allah we always need Allah subhana wa tala we explained explained
[17:24]it right yes oh to indicate that Allah subhana waala is is
[17:37]uh he's beyond our reach yeah yeah and he's also greater than
[17:46]what we imagine he is the one who knows the Unseen and
[18:01]knows which is the seen the seen or you can say he
[18:07]knows the unfelt and the felt so Allah subhana wa tala basically
[18:11]is aware of all matters and he tells us in the Quran
[18:19]in in multiple verses that I know everything Allah knows or is
[18:25]aware of all matters but Allah also uh gives us uh clear
[18:33]examples of what he knows so that we uh gain more insight
[18:43]regarding his knowledge subhah wa ta'ala if you read the first verses
[18:47]ofah you'll realize how Allah subhana wa tala gives us multiple examples
[18:51]of the things that he knows uh here the IM says which
[19:00]is trait that the Quran also mentions multiple times yes uh there
[19:13]should be a reason definitely but why is it mentioned before I'd
[19:18]have to think have to think is it because for us there
[19:24]is more than maybe but we need to think about it is
[19:29]the world of the unfelt or the world of the Unseen shahada
[19:35]is the world of the seen or the world of things that
[19:41]are felt for me and you there is a and there's a
[19:44]because we're limited for Allah there's no so when he tells you
[19:51]he's telling you basically I know everything whatever is for you it's
[19:58]sh for me make sense why are we saying there is for
[20:02]us because our knowledge is limited right now for example we're in
[20:05]the and we have a bunch of students in their homes or
[20:10]workplaces or universities uh do we the students in the MUA know
[20:18]what's happening in the other rooms in the MUA we don't let
[20:24]alone what's happening in Windsor let alone what's happening in Ontario or
[20:28]Canada or the plan there are many incidents think about it thousands
[20:33]in fact millions of incidents right now taking place Millions someone is
[20:40]fighting with his spouse at the moment we don't know about them
[20:44]someone is mean talking with his mother someone is Vis visiting a
[20:51]friend someone is in a graveyard Etc we we don't know about
[20:55]these matters because we're limited because our knowledge is limited there are
[21:00]many incidents in this world that we do not witness these are
[21:04]for us so there are many incidents in our world that are
[21:12]part of the for us let alone the incidents that happen or
[21:17]are happening in the Hereafter right now in the Hereafter some Believers
[21:20]are having a blast they're in heaven some individuals are being punished
[21:25]the disbelievers they're being tortured we don't feel that we know about
[21:31]it because mentioned what's going to happen after we pass away but
[21:35]we don't see at the moment what's happening to this person who
[21:40]passed away and that person who passed away we walk by the
[21:46]graveyard we see Graves but we don't actually see or hear what's
[21:50]happening correct it's part of what's happening in the the world of
[21:57]the graves right now is part of that's for us as for
[22:00]Allah there's no Hye everything is is uh clear everything is seen
[22:25]J the same for us Ying one of the they can see
[22:52]the otherc correct correct yes so many different lay so each um
[23:08]each creation of Allah subhanahu wa taala does or might have his
[23:15]own right as you said the jins for us they're part of
[23:21]the world of the Unseen because we don't meet the we don't
[23:27]see them normally of course for the most part we don't meet
[23:31]them or see them but how do we know that they're Argin
[23:35]because Quran said they're Argin how do we know there are angels
[23:38]because the Quran said there are angels now if we were Ain
[23:46]if we were part of the world of the jins we werein
[23:50]right we were Jin um would there be a for us yes
[23:58]there would if someone's Ain it doesn't mean he has access to
[24:01]everything in the world all forms of knowledge that's not the case
[24:07]Allah gave us a clear example regarding when the jins were working
[24:15]for him was observing the jins and as they were working and
[24:18]suan is standing holding his staff Allah subhana T decided to take
[24:24]his soul in that state so he took his soul so that
[24:28]man died but apparently for the jins so man was still alive
[24:30]because he's you know he's he's observing observing them and he's holding
[24:34]his staff J and they kept on working because is watching little
[24:40]did they know that had been dead after a while Allah sent
[24:47]an insect and ate the staff ofam which led to Falling when
[24:53]he fell the Jin understood that you know we don't know he
[24:58]was dead but they thought that he was alive this is one
[25:04]example let alone other examples for example uh when they were allowed
[25:09]to go to the skies they would Ascend the skies to hear
[25:13]what the Angels were saying why would they ascend the skies to
[25:18]hear the angels they want to find out you know they want
[25:20]to find out certain pieces of information or pieces of news from
[25:27]the Angels when the prophet was born s Al they were denied
[25:30]access to all of the SK so their their knowledge is limited
[25:34]their knowledge is limited they know whatever Allah allows them to know
[25:41]not more than that yes you know to one of the that
[25:58]I will get so quickly and you know that means not the
[26:05]others were able to do it as and they the powerful J
[26:09]was able to do it so he had access to some knowledge
[26:10]that the general J did not or had powers that perhaps perhaps
[26:17]it's a possibility yes yeah yeah yeah plus in a long story
[26:24]short there is there is for the jins um there is for
[26:30]uh any creation of Allah subhanahu waala exactly when he wanted to
[26:56]create Adam to place Adam as aifa on the earth uh placing
[26:58]Adam as aif on the earth did not make sense for them
[27:05]we know what the progeny of Adam will do we're angels we
[27:12]don't disob we're on Earth and we're you know we're worshiping you
[27:17]we're purifying the Earth for you now you're going to bring Adam
[27:21]Adam is a prophet but his children you know his some of
[27:29]them are really bad they're going to shed blood they're going to
[27:31]cause corruption you're replacing us with them it didn't make sense so
[27:38]they wanted to find out what's the hikma what's the wisdom behind
[27:42]this and that's an example yes that they don't know everything in
[27:46]fact when Allah tells them when Allah displays certain Creations to them
[27:50]and tells them inform me of their names they admit that they
[27:55]don't know right they tell them that we only know that which
[28:02]you have taught us yeah but their knowledge is also limited one
[28:17]Hadith says he's referring to the um as far as I remember
[28:25]the Five Lights perhaps also the 14 that's what I remember is
[28:29]the five at least and uh in another Hadith says that he
[28:35]showed him he showed them sorry the proofs of God from Adam
[28:39]to the last proof which would include the 14 INF he showed
[28:45]them these proofs of Allah the prophets their successors Etc to the
[28:49]angels and he said inform me of their names but is says
[29:00]Allah subhana is means the one who's great not the one who's
[29:07]big and Allah doesn't have a size okay so kab does not
[29:09]mean big it means someone who's great before I tell you write
[29:24]uh the following there's a book if you want to understand Allah's
[29:29]names better uh read the book I'm gonna write it for the
[29:46]students online is one of our Scholars he wrote a a fabulous
[30:00]book of supplications and worships called mbah it's fabulous absolutely fabulous he
[30:08]also wrote and that one uh sheds light on the names of
[30:11]Allah subhah wa ta'ala and he tells you what do these names
[30:16]mean now in many cases he gives you multiple definitions multiple definitions
[30:20]for for the names of Allah subh T So regarding he said
[30:26]the following there's a scholar called he said so is the one
[30:42]who uh does not hold the traits of the Creations meaning the
[30:50]traits that specifically belong to the Creations there are some traits that
[30:57]we can attribute to Allah and to the Creations like generosity like
[31:02]Mercy like life okay obviously there's a difference in the trait when
[31:16]we're looking at the trait of Allah and when we're look at
[31:18]looking at the trait of the creation for example if we look
[31:25]at generosity Allah T is Kim and I can be Kim so
[31:27]that makes me Allah no it doesn't make you Allah you're Allah's
[31:32]you're Allah's slave you're Allah's creation there's a big difference between your
[31:37]generosity in his number one your generosity depends on his but his
[31:41]generosity does not depend on anyone subhana tala in in in clearer
[31:49]terms he doesn't depend on anyone to be generous but had it
[31:53]not been for Allah T you wouldn't even know what generosity means
[31:57]let alone being generous number two our generosity at the end of
[32:02]the day is limited the most generous of those who are generous
[32:08]he keeps on giving and giving and giving and giving subhah wa
[32:11]ta'ala it's enough to see that sometimes you do a very simple
[32:16]deed something really simple that takes two or three seconds Allah grants
[32:22]you a huge reward for that simple deed like what muhamad Muhammad
[32:31]such a simple deed but the reward for it is tremendous that's
[32:36]a great manifestation of generosity but some traits of God are uh
[32:42]can be attributed to us as well but there's a difference between
[32:48]there's a difference in in the trait when we're attributing it to
[32:51]Allah and when when we're attributing the same trait to the creation
[32:55]that's one whereas there are certain traits that specifically belong to the
[32:59]Creations not to Allah subhana wa T you cannot attribute them to
[33:05]Allah like what like ignorance like need uh like oppression like uh
[33:13]stinginess we said weakness right weakness ignorance being limited so one of
[33:25]its meanings is the one who does not hold the traits of
[33:32]the Creations meaning the traits that can only be attributed to the
[33:37]creations of Allah subhanahu waala okay there's another meaning that mentioned we'll
[33:48]mention it next week inshallah we're out of time for today and
[33:52]I also had uh something to say about's question about next week
[33:57]inshallah
