[0:02]how the villa him in a shape on the regime smell ar-rahman
[0:09]ar-raheem I begin in the name of the Almighty God the compassionate
[0:14]the merciful the one who has created everything in utmost perfection and
[0:21]may the peace and blessings of the Almighty God upon his pure
[0:26]and beloved messenger the peak of his creation the symbol of humanity
[0:35]the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa ala muhammad al-madani muhammad and
[0:40]his immaculate progeny of the elevate peace be upon them especially the
[0:50]leader of our time the awaited savior al imam al medina john
[0:54]allahu ta'ala firaga me Allah hastened his reappearance and make us all
[0:59]amongst a sincere and dedicated servants respected brothers and sisters assalamualaikum warahmatullahi
[1:07]wabarakatuh i sincerely welcome you this morning this very cold morning as
[1:19]we have come together to illuminate our hearts and minds with the
[1:26]warmth of knowledge and be warmth of faith through the path of
[1:30]a headed bait peace be upon them my dear brothers and sisters
[1:36]during the past couple of weeks we've commemorated the legacy of an
[1:43]amazing leader in the religion of Islam and for all of humanity
[1:47]this leader is the daughter of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa lady
[1:54]fatima az-zahra alayhis-salam despite being so young when she departed this world
[2:02]at age 18 can you imagine that yet she left an amazing
[2:09]impact on history do you know in the history of humankind an
[2:17]18 year old who's given us so much vision who's contributed so
[2:24]much who's left and eternal impact an imprint on time at age
[2:32]18 imagine that but she's a leader chosen by Allah subhana WA
[2:36]Ta'ala she's the daughter of God's greatest messenger the holy prophet sallallahu
[2:42]alayhi wa there are many dimensions to learn from the life of
[2:47]lady fatima yes Sarang but today this morning I'd like to discuss
[2:52]with you an amazing powerful speech that she delivered days after the
[2:59]Prophet passed away this speech is historically known as the sermon of
[3:07]Fedak lady fatima he has saddam when she gave this speech she
[3:14]truly revealed to the world her knowledge her eloquence the clarity of
[3:21]her understanding of islam the way she summarizes religion for us it's
[3:31]truly fascinating just to give you a quick background information about this
[3:40]speech and why she gave this speech her mother lady Khadija and
[3:43]Salaam in Mecca she sacrificed a lot for the religion of Islam
[3:46]she was very wealthy the Prophet came under attack there was a
[3:53]boycott to the point where those early Muslims would literally starve to
[3:58]death so lady Khadijah used her wealth to support those early Muslims
[4:03]to support the path of the prophets of Allah Allah hew on
[4:06]him now the Prophet never had the opportunity to financially compensate Khadija
[4:14]so this compensation came where and Medina lady Khadija had already passed
[4:21]away she passed away in Mecca the Rafat migrated to the city
[4:28]of Medina so years seven after the migration this is about three
[4:33]years before the Prophet passed away the Prophet is given a very
[4:37]significant agricultural land called Fedak this was a gift that a Jewish
[4:46]community gave to the Prophet sallallaahu Allah he wanted so he owned
[4:49]it Allah subhana WA Ta'ala revealed to his prophet in Surat Allah
[4:59]verse 27 jibra eel came to the Prophet he told him you
[5:02]know so Allah pay back Khadija your wife for all her services
[5:06]financially she gave so much now you have this piece of property
[5:13]it's very expensive it generates a lot of money through all those
[5:18]crops and fruit trees pay her back so the Prophet as jibra
[5:23]eel how do you want me to pay her back she passed
[5:24]away you know 10 years ago how am I going to pay
[5:30]her back jabrai l told him Jana so Allah God commands you
[5:34]to give this land as a gift to her only surviving child
[5:41]which is Lady Fatima his daughter from Khadija she was the only
[5:46]surviving child that the Prophet had would lady Khadija so give this
[5:50]land a gift to her so the Prophet gifts her the land
[5:57]of Fedak in honor of who her mother lady Khadija see how
[6:00]Islam ours those who sacrifice and see how Islam sent a beautiful
[6:09]message that this lady ten years ago in Mecca she sacrificed maybe
[6:12]you people forgot these new people who were becoming Muslims maybe they
[6:16]were not aware of the sacrifices of this woman but Allah Spano
[6:19]to Allah wanted to make it very clear that her efforts are
[6:25]appreciated so the Prophet gives her this piece of property when the
[6:30]Prophet passes away and there are some who come to power against
[6:37]the will of the prophet sallallaahu annually he had recommended it I'll
[6:40]even have you thought about his son to be the Calif to
[6:45]be the leader after him others come to power what is the
[6:48]first thing they do they realize that this piece property if it's
[6:54]in the hands of the animal bait Imam Ali Allah's Salam lady
[7:01]fatima this will serve as an economic backbone for them for the
[7:04]animal bait they can fund their projects this will give them a
[7:07]stronger position so sometimes when you want to eliminate your opponent what
[7:16]do you do you financially cut them off so the first thing
[7:19]they did when they came to power right after the Prophet had
[7:22]passed away is to confiscate the land of Fedak they confiscated it
[7:29]so lady fatima nice lamb comes to the mosque the Caliph is
[7:33]sitting there abou back there are many many companions the men were
[7:37]sitting in the mosque lady fatima with a group of her women
[7:43]friends he enters the mosque and she delivers an amazing speech and
[7:48]she basically rebuked them for what they've done she tells them you
[7:51]have no right to take this property from the idol bait and
[7:56]if you don't believe that the Prophet gifted me this land okay
[8:00]I am his sole inheritor here fourth piece of property I inherit
[8:06]this land but unfortunately they denied her that right so lady fatima
[8:11]he said i'm she took advantage of this opportunity to give animation
[8:16]that allows us to better understand life the system God to better
[8:22]appreciate the blessings of allah subhana wa ta'ala I've selected just a
[8:27]few passages from this sermon so we can discuss this beautiful morning
[8:33]with you my dear brothers and sisters just to show you how
[8:36]beautiful this sermon is and I highly recommend that you study this
[8:40]sermon every passage in this sermon contains oceans of knowledge that will
[8:47]bring you closer to Allah allow you to better understand the philosophy
[8:53]of life and how to stand up for the truth how to
[8:56]stand up for justice so lady fatima knees salam begins her sermon
[9:05]by praising the mighty god and reminding us of the blessings of
[9:09]allah early in the sermon lady fatima states alhamdulillah he a llama
[9:17]and nam all praise is due to the Almighty God for all
[9:21]the blessings that he's given us then she gives an example of
[9:27]a blessing that sometimes were not aware of wallahu chakra a llama
[9:33]el hen and I am grateful to God for the divine inspirations
[9:40]that he's given me Allah has inspired me to do good my
[9:47]dear brothers and sisters when you look at your daily activity you
[9:51]do a lot of good deeds maybe you do charity your good
[9:54]towards your parents family members spouse you're seeking education you're helping someone
[10:01]these are all good deeds lady fatima nice alam teaches you who
[10:04]inspired you to do these good deeds who gave you that inspiration
[10:11]who gave you that intellect who gave you that inner light to
[10:15]know right from wrong how many times have you thanked God for
[10:19]that every morning when you wake up or every time you do
[10:24]a good deed even if you pay a dollar of charity do
[10:28]you thank Allah for giving you that opportunity and for inspiring you
[10:32]to do that act of charity too often honestly we forget maybe
[10:37]I'll just think of good when I'm praying Lady Fatima is teaching
[10:44]you that's not the only area where you thank to God and
[10:46]you remember God every time you do put the beat remember Allah
[10:49]subhana WA Ta'ala realize he gave you the success to do that
[10:56]good deed be thankful to him while I was Shukur Allah mmm
[11:00]beautiful powerful Arabic words then Lady Fatima may Salam States giman in
[11:08]Asahi Idaho ha now if you try to count the blessings of
[11:15]God can you count them too often we forget how many millions
[11:19]of factors come together so you can have one of God's blessings
[11:27]have we thanked allah subhana wa ta'ala for them I'll give you
[11:31]a simple example here take a look at a simple food dish
[11:37]plate let's say a pizza right when you have that pizza next
[11:40]Friday night I want you to think of the following this pizza
[11:45]what are the ingredients that it has it has dough it has
[11:49]cheese maybe it has olives it has some vegetables do you know
[11:56]how many millions of factors have worked together so you can enjoy
[12:01]this plate think about it take a look at something simple like
[12:05]the tomato like the olive how Allah has created a system where
[12:10]water evaporates from the oceans the winds carry them to faraway lands
[12:19]as the Quran says and then the system of God is set
[12:21]up such that it generates rain fall fresh water and then you've
[12:28]got those farmers cultivating the land preparing there at the land year-round
[12:35]you know how much work it takes to grow just some vegetables
[12:38]do you know how much work it takes for those of us
[12:42]who live in the city we forget about that the religion of
[12:45]Islam considers the act of farming a holy act and Islam has
[12:51]so much praise and respect for farmers maybe we don't you know
[12:55]we sort of them uneducated people but Islam says known they are
[13:00]really producing something in society that farmer who works with his bare
[13:06]hands in the eyes of God can be much higher than the
[13:11]than the broker on Wall Street who's just charging millions of dollars
[13:15]of interest on business transactions not really helping anyone but his own
[13:21]pocket the farmer is helping you it's humble work so imagine those
[13:26]farmers that work so hard to develop the land maintaining the land
[13:32]to grow one single vegetable and then when you look at the
[13:39]wheat how that's planted how that's made into dough and then all
[13:43]of these different factors and then once they packaged it and then
[13:47]the truck driver who came who took that and he transported it
[13:51]somewhere else or the Baker who made that dough do you know
[13:56]how many millions of factors have come together so you can have
[14:00]that plate think about that but usually we're not grateful to Allah
[14:07]span Owatonna lady fatima says if you try your best to count
[14:11]these blessings of god you simply cannot a single plate of food
[14:14]you don't know how much effort has been put into it for
[14:21]you to enjoy or the clothes that you wear or this functioning
[14:24]body that you have my dear brothers and sisters sometimes it's really
[14:29]humbling to do some scientific research about the organs of the body
[14:35]go and study the liver see what the liver does the way
[14:39]the liver keeps you healthy keeps the toxic chemicals out of your
[14:43]body scientists and doctors are saying if we want a device and
[14:52]machine to do that for you to filter what the liver filters
[14:55]the liver does 500 functions can you imagine 500 functions the livers
[15:05]doing for you if you need a device to do that for
[15:12]you it'll be bigger than this hole it's the size of an
[15:15]entire factory to do these 500 operations Allah has put all that
[15:22]in a small liver are you thankful of allah subhanho to anna
[15:25]for them lady fatima says think about this you can never really
[15:28]capture the praise of allah subhanahu wata'ala then she says the following
[15:36]very beautifully she says one had ever home list his eyes that
[15:41]he has shook literally huh then Allah Spano Ta'ala has announced to
[15:46]all humanity do you want me to continue these blessings for you
[15:51]and give you quality life be thankful use these blessings in my
[15:59]obedience in the path of justice in the path of truth and
[16:04]I will increase those blessings on you many times my dear brothers
[16:07]and sisters we lose a blessing because we were not grateful for
[16:15]it we were we did not truly thank Allah by using it
[16:17]properly Allah gives you many gifts many opportunities if I keep abusing
[16:22]that gift that opportunity every single time Allah might take away from
[16:26]me Lady Fatima says you want to hold on to what you
[16:31]have the blessings that you have be thankful to God use it
[16:36]in his path in his obedience that will guarantee that you will
[16:41]keep that blessing now there's one interesting word of warning here this
[16:47]is a beautiful narration from the elevate the hadith states if you
[16:53]see that God is giving you material blessings and those blessings are
[17:00]increasing yet I'm disobeying God I insist on sins the Imam says
[17:10]or the Prophet says take that as a bad sign how so
[17:14]because some people will tell you look I'm defying God I volley
[17:20]I violate the laws of God my money is increasing I go
[17:23]into this Haram business still I see my money is increasing take
[17:29]that as a bad sign sometimes when you get hit with something
[17:34]my dear brothers and sisters it's a good sign believe me I'm
[17:40]doing something wrong and then I'm stuck in a situation I get
[17:43]hit with something that's a good sign that means a last telling
[17:46]you look I care about you I want you to stop what
[17:50]you're doing change your life it's like you see a child going
[17:54]towards the fireplace the child doesn't know what the fire is if
[17:57]you really care about the child you'll stop that child but if
[18:01]there's this vicious person you've given them so many chances so many
[18:08]chances and they keep rejecting and they're going towards that fire sometimes
[18:13]you'll reach a point where like you know what you deal with
[18:16]the consequences of your own actions I'm not going to intervene anymore
[18:19]I've given you too many chances so Lady Fatima Neeson teaches us
[18:27]to think about God's blessings if you want to really keep those
[18:31]blessings then use them in the path of allah subhanho wa taala
[18:34]that will guarantee you so this is the first opening passage in
[18:41]her sermon then she transitions to the second passage in her sermon
[18:48]in this second passage lady fatima lisa donn teaches us about the
[18:54]gift of life by far the greatest gift Allah has given us
[19:02]the gift of life so she says epi tada an Asia lamb
[19:06]in che in Cana Abraha Allah invented everything Allah created everything from
[19:20]nothing think about that who other than God can do that you
[19:24]know science tells us that matter is neither created or destroyed we
[19:27]human beings we don't really create anything we just take matter reshape
[19:35]it that's all we do is there something human beings invented out
[19:38]of nothing tell me what is it we just examine the life
[19:43]around us the resources and we rearrange them that's all what we
[19:48]do but allah subhanaw taala created from nothing think about that you
[19:53]have a creator who invented this creation the intellect tells you you
[19:59]do have a creator an intelligent designer go to that step that
[20:04]second right before the Big Bang where did that appear from Allah
[20:10]subhanAllah de brought that into existence then lady fatima states were and
[20:16]shahe billah tada I am phillotson empty sella when Allah created this
[20:20]universe he did not have another example he was following another precedent
[20:30]okay you know if you have this other creation someone else made
[20:33]let me use that develop it advance it and then I'll make
[20:36]this creation no it was unprecedented who can pull that off my
[20:43]dear brothers and sisters you create something out of nothing and it's
[20:47]perfectly functional it has an amazing delicate system we human beings we
[20:51]copy we observe we copy and then we create something we generate
[20:55]something but allah subhanaw taala created without a prior example and that
[21:01]shows us the knowledge of allah subhanahu wata'ala that lady fatima teaches
[21:09]us that if god created something if he created you as human
[21:17]beings don't think that God needs you I know many people who
[21:21]struggle with Salah many people who struggle with prayer and they think
[21:25]you know why should I stand five times a day and pray
[21:30]the way that Muslims pray God doesn't need my prayer who cares
[21:33]if I pray or not Lady Fatima is alive in this third
[21:39]passage she beautifully explains to us that allah subhana wa ta'ala when
[21:43]he created us he did not need us a lot doesn't need
[21:47]me or my prayers or my acts of worship allah subhana wa
[21:50]ta'ala is generous so he wanted to share that mercy and generosity
[21:56]with his creation that he would create otherwise allah subhana wa ta'ala
[22:02]as the hadith states was then there was nothing Allah doesn't need
[22:06]anything allah subhanaw taala he's knowledge he's power he is life he
[22:12]doesn't need any thing but he wanted to give me an opportunity
[22:17]to taste his mercy he wanted to give me upper opportunity to
[22:28]enjoy the miracle of life that's purely based his generosity that's purely
[22:33]based on his mercy even for those of us who don't understand
[22:36]why we're created I know people who struggle with that why am
[22:40]I created why did God even create me I never signed up
[22:45]for this right haven't you heard that especially people when they go
[22:49]through difficulty like I never signed up for this why did God
[22:54]choose to create me you know sometimes when you don't see what
[22:57]God sees you object but Allah sees what you don't see I'll
[23:03]give you an example with children with kids sometimes you push your
[23:07]children to do something but they don't understand that they don't get
[23:12]it so they're frustrated whether it's taking them to school right any
[23:15]kids initially resist to go to school but you as a parent
[23:20]do you know that this is good for them there is mercy
[23:23]in pushing your child to learn even if the child refuses I
[23:29]never signed up for this waking me up every day at 7
[23:30]a.m.
[23:31]I don't like this you know when my children two years ago
[23:39]when we settled here they'd go before that to school and boom
[23:42]so over there the study hours are a lot shorter there are
[23:47]four hours you know eight to 12 so when they came here
[23:49]and they had to go to school for like seven and a
[23:53]half hours you know 8:00 to 4:00 literally eight hours for them
[23:56]that was a big transition initially for like the first two months
[24:00]they'd complained even the little one you know I tell her what's
[24:04]what's you don't like school you don't like the teachers what's the
[24:07]matter it's like no Baba it just takes too long I never
[24:10]signed up for this this is way too long kids sometimes don't
[24:17]understand why you're asking them to do something so obviously they'll complain
[24:22]but once they get older they come and they kiss your hands
[24:26]in you thank you for being a responsible parent because then they
[24:31]understand why you put them on that path you know Subhan Allah
[24:35]have you seen with some stubborn kids sometimes even if you want
[24:37]to take them out for fun right there in that stubborn mode
[24:43]they don't want to come let's come let's let's go and I'll
[24:46]take you to Disneyland to Disney World no no I don't want
[24:49]to go they don't know what Disneyland is let's say right I
[24:51]don't want to go but you push them no you have to
[24:55]come you don't know how much fun you're going to have but
[24:59]they resist it but then once they go there and they see
[25:01]wow you know this is a beautiful place thank you for bringing
[25:05]me here many of us my dear brothers and sisters we may
[25:08]not have really experienced the miracle of life to truly appreciate it
[25:15]but one day you will hear in this life you will if
[25:20]not here on the day of treatment everyone will thank allah subhana
[25:24]wa ta'ala when you see the grand mercy of God on the
[25:26]day of judgement and as the hadith states all the mercy you
[25:32]find in this world is 1% of God's mercy fewer through Eric
[25:35]theoretically to divide up God's mercy into 100 parts all the mercy
[25:42]that you see in this world the mercy Allah has put in
[25:44]your compassionate hearts the hearts of mothers even animals the compassion that
[25:49]they have towards their offspring all of that is 1% and Allah
[25:53]has kept 99% for when for the day of judgement when you
[25:59]see that on the day of judgement everyone will thank God for
[26:02]creating them for giving them this experience of life and to enjoy
[26:11]the mercy of allah subhanahu wata'ala Allah did not create us to
[26:16]punish us yeah sometimes we cause negative consequences but a lot did
[26:21]not create us to punish us Allah created us for mercy for
[26:24]compassion so lady fatima he said I miss teaching us that Allah
[26:31]doesn't need you he doesn't need your prayer you need to connect
[26:33]yourself to Allah because Allah is the source of all goodness in
[26:40]this if I don't pray if I'm not on his path of
[26:42]obedience it's my loss I've disconnected myself from the source of all
[26:48]goodness in the universe that's my loss it's not the loss of
[26:51]Allah subhana WA Ta'ala so she beautifully walks us through the [Music]
[26:57]beautiful idea that allah subhanho tell her I did not need us
[27:05]he gave us this gift take advantage of this gift of life
[27:07]but Lady Fatima al salam transitions into the second part of her
[27:18]sermon to tell us about the philosophy of faith and also the
[27:22]rituals that we have the religion of islam so lady fatima es
[27:25]salaam tells us vigil allahu liman top Tahir alikoum miniaturk Allah has
[27:34]given you faith monotheism to believe in the one God to purify
[27:39]you from polytheism you know at the time of his land if
[27:45]you go back 14 centuries ago most people on earth were polytheists
[27:48]they were idol worshippers lady fatima says allah has saved you through
[27:54]these great prophets the last of them being the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
[27:58]aleyhi wa ala allah horrified your intellect and your heart from idol-worshipping
[28:04]because those who submit to an idol those who submit to iraq
[28:09]a stone an object they are polluting their intellect how they're insulting
[28:17]the intellect can you imagine someone who comes to an idol you're
[28:24]stronger than the idol you may die then why worship the idol
[28:31]why worship something you may you can destroy anything but you know
[28:35]most people on earth were like that they were on the path
[28:38]of idolatry lady fatima says allah saved you from that god purified
[28:46]from insulting your intellect and bowing to an object an idol that's
[28:51]an insult to the intellect so Allah gave us faith to really
[28:58]purify our intellect from all these contaminants and you know they're really
[29:03]the reason why Islam really rejected idolatry because someone could say look
[29:08]okay what's the big deal really what is the big deal of
[29:15]somebody worships a stone so what why is the Quran so you
[29:17]know tough in its language against idolatrous idolatry the religion of islam
[29:26]teaches us that idolatry is a form of self worship where you
[29:35]worship your own desires your own whims and you make that into
[29:40]a religion this is very dangerous you know those people who would
[29:45]worship the idols who would come up with the rules like what's
[29:51]right and what's wrong what's acceptable what's not acceptable when you worship
[29:58]an idol you make up your own rules it's a form of
[30:00]self worship because that idols not gonna speak to you and tell
[30:04]you hey you know this is wrong this is right who's going
[30:06]to check and you know enforce that you're abiding by what's right
[30:15]and what's wrong it's a form of self worship they made up
[30:18]their own rules and they attribute them attribute them to the idols
[30:22]it was an easy way out to follow my desires some of
[30:30]you have seen the movie on prophet youssef alehissalaam if you remember
[30:36]that scheme where you know she locked up Yousef in the room
[30:42]and she invited him to immorality suddenly something came to her mind
[30:47]before she wanted to advance further further what did she do remember
[30:51]she took like a sheet a blanket and she covered the idol
[30:53]in her room because there's that there was an idol in her
[30:58]room that they'd worship so she covered his head his face his
[31:00]eyes use of a stir what are you doing why'd you cover
[31:08]him she's like well I'm embarrassed to do what I want to
[31:11]do in front of my idol so I just cover him so
[31:14]you can't see see you make up your own rules when you
[31:19]want your Lord to see you'll have him see when you don't
[31:22]want him you just cover him but it doesn't work like that
[31:27]with Allah Subhan Allah time there's no place that you can go
[31:30]to where Allah is not going to see you so you have
[31:33]told her oh that's the Lord you worship well I'm glad I
[31:35]don't worship that Lord the Lord I worship there's nothing you can
[31:41]put no barrier you can put for you to stop him from
[31:43]seeing he sees everything and he's present everywhere it's a form of
[31:49]self worship and today my dear brothers and I'll be very honest
[31:52]with you we find that amongst especially the younger generation we have
[31:57]the spirit of worship especially when people say yes I recognize that
[32:02]we're spiritual beings I'm spiritual I'd like to be spiritual I have
[32:06]my own spiritual program but I'm not religious I don't want to
[32:11]go by any divine law that's really dangerous when you make up
[32:15]your own rules how do you trust that the rules you're making
[32:22]up are really based on justice and truth and it's not really
[32:26]your desire how can you trust yourself some of those Arab tribes
[32:31]who practiced female infanticide you know they bury their own female daughters
[32:35]alive when you'd ask them why do you do that this is
[32:42]reprehensible this is a crime no no this is good in fact
[32:43]if I don't do it I feel ashamed of having a daughter
[32:47]I feel ashamed because she's nothing but a liability liability she'll grow
[32:52]up and you know they lived in the Arabian Peninsula I was
[32:57]based on tribalism and tribes raiding other tribes so the father always
[33:02]had in the back of his mind that you know anytime my
[33:05]village can be attacked and my daughter will be taken as a
[33:10]slave so she's a shame disgrace I don't want her they really
[33:14]thought this was good but the Quran condemns them for that for
[33:17]killing their daughter alive when you make up your own rules that's
[33:23]what happens your own rules about right and wrong that's what happens
[33:29]so lady fat the man he said that beautifully teaches us how
[33:34]a last panel Tejada purified us from all these beliefs that contaminate
[33:41]the intellect the heart the mind and our belief system then lady
[33:44]fat the maps and I'm transitions into the rituals of Islam why
[33:49]is it that we have these rituals for instance praying Lady Fatima
[33:55]says Allah subhana WA Ta'ala has asked us to pray to cure
[34:00]us from arrogance think about that this is one reason why we
[34:07]pray we human beings we have this natural tendency to be arrogant
[34:12]when you pray pay attention to the symbolism behind the acts of
[34:17]prayer when you bow when you prostrate take that as a lesson
[34:25]in humbleness humble yourself and my dear brothers and sisters lady fatima
[34:29]teaches us that if i'm praying years and I'm still an arrogant
[34:36]person I'm not praying properly prayer is that prayer which makes you
[34:42]humble if after Salah are not humbled with other people in society
[34:46]I'm not praying properly I'm not praying with the proper mindset you
[34:50]know many of you many of us we wonder if my son
[34:57]has accepted right are my deeds accepted Islam tells you how to
[35:00]figure that out you can evaluate your own deeds whether God accepted
[35:05]them or not believe me it's not that mysterious we're on the
[35:08]day of judgment it's a complete surprise and every single day you
[35:12]don't know whether you did God accept it or not no no
[35:15]nice that gives you a way to figure that out every time
[35:17]you do a deed a ritual an act examine the consequences the
[35:25]next step if that ritual helped you become a better person that
[35:30]is an indication Allah accepted that deed and you got rewarded for
[35:36]it but if I pray and then ten minutes later I go
[35:38]back into my habits gossiping causing problems being arrogant hurting other people
[35:45]realize no that prayer was not accepted in fact I made a
[35:51]joke of that out of that prayer we have a verse in
[35:53]the Holy Quran which is really alarming it tells us that sometimes
[36:03]some people through rituals their hearts become hard some people read the
[36:11]Quran but they after reading the Quran they go further away from
[36:16]Allah some people pray after that Salah they go further away from
[36:23]God how by making a joke out of their premium Quran if
[36:26]I read the Quran and the Quran says don't got ten minutes
[36:29]later I'm gossiping I'm mocking the book of God and when you
[36:34]mock the book of allah subhanaw taala allah pushes you further away
[36:38]think about that Allah has given us the Quran as a prescription
[36:43]use that prescription but you know what we do call The Times
[36:49]my dear brothers and sisters you know imagine you go to the
[36:52]doctor the doctor gives you a prescription you take that prescription you
[36:55]take it to your house you kiss it every single day you
[37:01]put it on the shelf you seek the but I can the
[37:02]blessings from it for years and years that's what you do with
[37:07]that piece of paper if the doctor is going to look at
[37:09]you until you are you making a joke out of my profession
[37:13]I gave you that prescription so you go to the pharmacy you
[37:16]take the medication the way I told you not for you to
[37:23]take that description kiss it every day and then just put it
[37:24]on the shelf but that's what we do Allah gave you this
[37:30]prescription use it if I don't use it if I'm reading the
[37:33]Quran and I'm not implementing it sometimes that pushes me further away
[37:38]from allah subhanho wa taala then lady fatima li salam quickly captures
[37:45]the spirit of giving my dear brothers and sisters lady fatima says
[37:50]allah has imposed the religious dues such as the zakat for instance
[37:55]the charity the financial commitments that we have as a way to
[37:59]increase your reserve as a way to increase your sustenance so often
[38:09]we think if we give more the less we'll have lady fatima
[38:12]says it's the exact opposite the more you give in the way
[38:19]of god in the way of charity the more you give the
[38:21]more allah will increase your sustenance that's the law of god it
[38:26]does not change my dear brothers and sisters no one has become
[38:30]poor by giving believe me that does not happen you will not
[38:34]hear of a person because they gave charity they became poor in
[38:40]fact allah subhanaw taala increases your sustenance and when we say sustenance
[38:49]Aslam primarily means quality of life if you want your quality of
[38:54]life to improve get in the way of Allah Allah will give
[39:00]you a better quality of life there are some people who have
[39:02]millions my dear brothers and sisters millions and millions but do they
[39:08]have that quality of life we have miss could misconception when it
[39:13]comes to what poverty is and to what rich is what's richness
[39:21]what's poverty too often we don't know really we think that money
[39:26]gives you that richness money gives you that happiness that's not the
[39:33]case I invite you my dear brothers and sisters today when you
[39:37]go home look up this research it's fascinating it's by Michael Norton
[39:41]he is a professor of business management at Harvard he came up
[39:47]with this fascinating study look it up read it it will change
[39:54]how you will look at life your outlook on life he wanted
[39:57]to see how happy millionaires were so you know what he did
[40:04]he interviewed two million two thousand millionaires I don't know how he
[40:08]found the time to do that honestly but he did it's a
[40:10]fascinating study interviewing two thousand millionaires that said that's a big task
[40:16]so he interviewed them he went to the guy who had three
[40:23]million dollars he told him are you happy with the amount of
[40:26]wealth that you have he's like not really if I had three
[40:33]times more then I'd really be happy he's like okay good he
[40:36]went to the guy who has how much 10 million he asked
[40:42]him the same question are you happy with the wealth that you
[40:46]have he said not really he told him what amount would really
[40:51]make you happy he's like if I had and he's everything of
[40:54]course some would say two or three or four but on average
[40:58]they would say if I had three times more then I'd really
[41:00]be happy he's like okay he went to the guy who has
[41:04]thirty million dollars are you happy no how much do you want
[41:10]to be happy 100 million he went to the guy with a
[41:12]hundred million and then three hundred million and then a billion and
[41:16]then three billion and then ten billion look it up it's a
[41:22]fascinating research he came up with a conclusion that none of these
[41:26]millionaires or billionaires were fully satisfied with the amount of money that
[41:32]they had two thousand millionaires most of them were not happy that
[41:37]shows you my dear brothers and sisters that quantity a number millions
[41:42]of dollars will not make you happy it will not give you
[41:46]a quality of life when you hear of beefs and verses in
[41:51]the Quran that talk about listeth and sustenance it's not just money
[41:54]a lot talking about it's how much you'll really enjoy that money
[42:00]it's how much but I care and blessings that money will bring
[42:02]to your life to your children and your grandchildren till the day
[42:09]of judgement that's reserved we have a hadith from Imam Ali Allah's
[42:12]Salam once a brother came up to he asked me about this
[42:16]hadith so in this hadith Imam I leave Nabil anybody Salam states
[42:20]prolonged exposure to singing and music leads to poverty waka throttle is
[42:27]steamer Al and Lena uracil hadith from Imam Ali Ali Saleh so
[42:35]the person came up to me he's like say do you really
[42:37]believe in this stuff notice how he worded him I told him
[42:42]what do you mean this stuff this is a hadith it's like
[42:44]come on you know that can't really be true I said why
[42:49]he's like them I'm saying you know those who are exposed to
[42:54]the singing music industry or work in it that leads to poverty
[42:58]saying it it's the exact opposite the wealthiest of people in our
[43:03]society are the singers and musicians they're the millionaire's so what is
[43:08]them I'm talking about here I told him see you've misunderstood what
[43:12]the word poverty means in the words of amel and what minion
[43:17]how do you say poverty doesn't mean lack of money that's one
[43:22]small dimension of poverty poverty means lack of quality life that's what
[43:29]poverty means and look at the statistics statistics show in society the
[43:36]highest rates of depression and suicide are amongst two musicians and singers
[43:42]one study in the UK revealed something shocking my dear brothers and
[43:52]sisters look it up official study by the UK they wanted to
[43:55]see how people suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts so they came
[44:01]up with these figures nineteen percent of British citizens then you know
[44:06]the average population in Britain suffers from depression nineteen percent so one
[44:11]out of five which is pretty high similar you know rate that
[44:15]we have here in the US depression is on the rise unfortunately
[44:17]nineteen percent of people in British society suffer from depression then they
[44:24]looked at subgroups they looked at me musicians and singers in the
[44:31]UK do you know what that figure was how many what percentage
[44:35]of singers and musicians in the UK suffer from depression seventy four
[44:43]percent seventy four percent of musicians and singers suffer from depression and
[44:52]they have the highest rates of suicide in society now you understand
[44:56]when a mama Hattie says prolonged exposure in this field has this
[45:01]consequence now we're not judging them I'm not putting them down they
[45:08]may be very difficult but this is just an effect the amount
[45:10]says if you're in that industry you're gonna end up with depression
[45:13]there will not be quality of life you may have fifty million
[45:17]dollars in your account but you're not gonna enjoy it that's an
[45:22]understanding of what sustenance is of what poverty is so Lady Fatima
[45:26]says the more you contribute the more you give from your time
[45:32]from your mind from your nerves or a sob as we say
[45:34]in Arabic towards helping people from your money the more Allah will
[45:41]put barakah in your life and Allah will continue to do unexpected
[45:44]things for you this is the law of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala
[45:47]so my dear brothers and sisters it's really a fascinating sermon I
[45:53]just shared with you the tip of the iceberg many beautiful passages
[45:57]in one passage lady fatima Hani Salaam talks about being good to
[46:02]parents right if you want protection from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala and
[46:08]you want to save yourself from god's wrath be good to your
[46:18]parents be close to your parents oftentimes we see especially amongst the
[46:23]younger generation they really don't know what their parents went through to
[46:28]provide for them to be there for them to care for them
[46:31]lady fatima says think about that remember how good your parents were
[46:36]to you I remember once a teenager came to me the parent
[46:41]her you know the mom had brought her toxic relationship at home
[46:46]to the point where it got physical this girl beat her mom
[46:51]so her mom couldn't take it anymore so she brought her I
[46:55]spoke to her and I realized okay no there was an issue
[47:00]and the core of it is she did not really appreciate what
[47:02]her mother goes through I asked her one question it shook her
[47:08]up it changed her entire outlook one question I told her have
[47:11]you ever stayed up late whatever you know doing work or out
[47:16]somewhere or doing an activity you come back 1:00 2:00 a.m.
[47:19]you're dead tired yeah okay so what I told her okay imagine
[47:25]if you sleep at 2:00 a.m.
[47:28]you're really dead tired 30 minutes later you're in your deep sleep
[47:33]somebody wakes you up how does that feel oh that feels awful
[47:39]I don't want to wake up okay you go back to sleep
[47:41]20 minutes later 30 minutes later again somebody wakes you up at
[47:45]3:00 how would you feel and this were to happen 20 times
[47:51]till 8:00 a.m.
[47:53]what kind of a night would that be for you Oh that'd
[47:56]be a miserable night I couldn't stand it I told her do
[48:02]you know you did this to your mom thousands of times hundreds
[48:06]of times when you're an infant your mother was that tired and
[48:15]every 20 minutes you probably woke her up she was in tears
[48:19]this is something she had just completely forgotten like okay you have
[48:25]trouble with your mom now maybe your mother's doing something wrong I
[48:32]don't know but just don't forget that appreciate where your mother is
[48:37]coming from that in itself sometimes changes your outlook my dear brothers
[48:42]and sisters last month I was I'll conclude with this example last
[48:45]month I was with a group of youth and we talked about
[48:50]you know some frustrations with the parents so one young man shared
[48:53]the following frustration very fascinating it's like one thing that frustrates me
[48:57]about my father is that when we're watching a movie together or
[49:01]a documentary or whatever we're watching TV he doesn't really understand you
[49:11]know the conversations that take place he reads the caption so every
[49:17]few minutes he makes us stop the movie or whatever we're watching
[49:20]the documentary he says rewind rewind at 20 seconds let me read
[49:23]the caption again I didn't quite read it well he's like say
[49:27]it that really frustrates me I told him okay okay I know
[49:30]it's frustrating but I'll ask you this question when you were young
[49:38]what was your favorite cartoon he mentioned a cartoon he didn't he
[49:41]was reluctant like just give me a generic examples like okay Tom
[49:44]and Jerry I told him go back today to your appearance when
[49:50]you were sitting in the living room how many thousands of times
[49:54]you forced your parents to go back and watch the same scene
[49:58]over and over and over and over again you did that for
[50:03]years to your parents now haromm your poor father he's growing older
[50:07]he wants to enjoy seeing the documentary or the film you got
[50:11]frustrated if every three minutes he says stop stop let me reread
[50:17]the caption just remember what you did to him 20 years ago
[50:20]you forced him to watch cartoons thousands of times what did he
[50:25]get angry at you did he really get frustrated no every time
[50:30]he probably embraced you kissed you and smiled in your face don't
[50:34]forget that too often we forget my dear brothers and sisters so
[50:37]Lady Fatima nice and beautifully reminds us in be fed a key
[50:42]sermon as I said this is just a small glimpse Lady Fatima
[50:45]Islam goes into detail about many aspects of our life I encourage
[50:52]all of you to study this valuable sermon you can look it
[50:55]up online on el islam al - islam or you can find
[51:00]this sermon translated and i highly encourage you to study it this
[51:06]is just one small drop of the knowledge of Lady Fatima Hani
[51:10]Salaam that has reached us may Allah Spano - Allah bless you
[51:16]as Allah to protect you and your families and make sure that
[51:19]you take the light of guidance from Lady Fatima is Salam in
[51:23]your everyday life was Salam alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
