[0:00]The time for the useless regimes to be punched around by Israel

[0:09]has arrived.

[0:09]They don't need Qatar anymore.

[0:15]The genocide in Gaza is now going to cause civil unrest in

[0:18]the West.

[0:20]The violence is coming to the street.

[0:21]>> Hello and welcome to another episode on TMJ's political current podcast.

[0:30]On September 9th, Israel attacked, which made headlines.

[0:34]They attacked a residential building on an air strike to take out

[0:37]what they say was Hamas leadership.

[0:38]And mind you, this is happening while Hamas officials were in Doha

[0:43]for a USbacked ceasefire proposal.

[0:46]We saw the exact same thing happen with Iran just a few

[0:52]months back where Israel attacked Iran in the middle of US Iran

[0:55]nuclear negotiations.

[0:57]Except the difference, and this is where this episode is going to

[1:01]be key, the difference was Iran responded the way people expect a

[1:06]sovereign nation to respond when it's been illegally violated.

[1:10]And Iran was like, "Hey, you attacked us.

[1:13]You violated our airspace.

[1:14]You killed our people.

[1:16]you violated our sovereignty, so we're going to retaliate.

[1:20]And that's what they did.

[1:22]However, completely did the opposite.

[1:24]Did absolutely nothing.

[1:26]It's been trying to play this dual identity, trying to play it

[1:30]all safe.

[1:31]You know, on one hand speak about Palestine and Palestinian rights and

[1:34]on the other hand keep America and Israel happy, which quite literally

[1:38]backfired on them.

[1:41]So really to save face, what did is now they had this

[1:43]Arab Islamic summit which took place two days ago on September 15th

[1:48]in Doha where a bunch of Arab leaders from almost 60 countries

[1:51]uh came together essentially to sit down in a vent session and

[1:55]complain about how bad Israel is and how messed up it was

[1:59]for them to do this.

[2:00]And other than that, pretty much nothing.

[2:01]All of them are going to go back home and say, "Hey,

[2:03]that was a great vent session.

[2:06]Now let's just go back to business as usual with Israel." So

[2:08]today I spoke with Leith Maru.

[2:10]He is an award-winning journalist, analyst, media consultant who has covered the

[2:16]West Asia region extensively, including on the ground.

[2:18]Many have seen his work in Lebanon.

[2:22]I spoke to him about what all of this means, why is

[2:24]playing this game, what this Arab Islamic summit really is meant to

[2:28]accomplish.

[2:28]And he also, this is interesting for many of our viewers, breaks

[2:32]down why Al Jazzer, which is owned media, which many in the

[2:38]US and Western countries have actually turned to as an alternative source

[2:42]of media, especially on the issue of Palestine.

[2:46]He exposes them really as a propaganda arm for the Qatar government

[2:49]and essentially really serving Western interests at the end of the day.

[2:52]So, I think you'll really like that conversation.

[3:10]Speaking specifically about the event, how come we saw what we saw

[3:15]from an absolute absence of a response?

[3:18]>> You know, there's a proverb in Arabic that says, uh, you

[3:24]were killed when the white bull was slaughtered.

[3:27]and that was talking to all the other cows in the herd.

[3:30]Uh so you know although these uh regimes in the Gulf are

[3:37]vassiles of the US, the mere existence of resistance in the Arabic

[3:45]world in the form of sovereign states like Syria when it existed

[3:50]andor Libya andor the resistance in Lebanon uh in Palestine that keeps

[4:03]the slave master uh from uh killing his own house slave, right?

[4:08]But now that they're reporting to the Zionists, in the minds of

[4:12]the Zionists, that they have defeated every Arab republic that escaped colonialism

[4:18]after World War II and uh what they see as the killing

[4:24]of the leadership of Hezbollah and the mass destruction of Gaza that

[4:29]nobody's stopping them at or their occupation of huge swats of Syria

[4:34]right now.

[4:36]Well, they don't need Qatar anymore.

[4:37]Tatar or Saudi or the Emirates uh their regimes their mere existence

[4:44]for the last 80 years was to ruin the possibilities of Arab

[4:50]unification uh liberation from colonialism and or Islamic unification.

[4:55]So now that there is no um big um you know opponent,

[5:00]there's no white wool anymore, uh the time for uh the useless

[5:11]regimes to be punched around by Israel has arrived.

[5:14]And I want to speak a little bit about this summit as

[5:17]well because I think it's it seems to be almost a little

[5:21]bit of a pattern where you know something happens and obviously in

[5:24]this case Israel being the aggressor and there's a summit there's a

[5:28]conference everyone comes together in this case it's about 50 Arab leaders

[5:31]when I was reading about how you know media here is covering

[5:35]it they a lot of them were referencing it as an unprecedented

[5:37]show of unity which is really comical because it pretty much accomplishes

[5:43]nothing And I guess maybe you you can expand on this more,

[5:47]but other than a bunch of states coming together and saying, "Wow,

[5:50]this was absolutely wrong." And pretty much nothing other than that.

[5:54]So really, what would you say this summit is supposed to accomplish?

[5:57]Because analysts are already saying that there's absolutely no chance that any

[6:02]military response would be on the table.

[6:04]So what what is the point?

[6:06]The point is to continue playing uh as if the regimes in

[6:13]Qatar or Saudi or even those countries other than Iran that are

[6:18]part of the Muslim um Islamic u you know organization or the

[6:26]Arab League that they have some say in what's happening to them

[6:30]or what's happening in their region or what's happening on their own

[6:32]land as in the case of Katar.

[6:35]when in reality uh the deal has always been for the vasile

[6:42]regimes to talk uh in ways that make them sound like they're

[6:47]tough or they're in opposition to the genocide in Gaza or in

[6:52]Palestine, the colonization of Palestine for the last 80 years, but under

[6:57]the table they uh provide all the services that are possible to

[7:01]uh aid the Zionist colony and to weaken any resistance against the

[7:07]existence of the Zionist colony.

[7:11]And this goes back all the way to the 1930s.

[7:12]It's not something new.

[7:15]You know, we can read the communications between the Saud family and

[7:21]the early Zionist uh where Benorian sent his envoy uh during the

[7:27]Palestinian great revolt in 1936.

[7:30]There was a lot of what we would call now Sahudi citizens

[7:34]to cross into Palestine to aid the Palestinian people and uh Benorian

[7:39]sent a letter to uh King Abdul Aziz saying hey we were

[7:46]supposed to be buies what's happening here and what Abdaz told him

[7:50]is that don't care about what I say look at what I'm

[7:55]doing and what was Abdul Aiz doing he was capturing any Saudis

[7:58]as they returned from Palestine and executing them.

[8:03]He was uh trying to stop anyone from going into Palestine to

[8:07]aid during the 1936 revolt.

[8:09]And this repeated uh obviously even as we're talking as the genocide

[8:16]is happening in Gaza without the supply route coming from the Emirates

[8:22]through Saudi through Jordan uh to break the siege that the Yemeni

[8:26]valiant resistance has installed on on on the southern ports of uh

[8:31]the Zionist colony.

[8:33]you know the economy will collapse in the Zionist colony without the

[8:38]shipping coming from Turkey and Egypt where you know 85% of all

[8:42]ships that dock in the ports of the Zionist colony in the

[8:48]Mediterranean stop first in Egypt and Turkey.

[8:50]If Egypt and Turkey just stop that shipping the Zionist colony will

[8:54]collapse.

[8:55]So, it's all about talk, talk, talk talk, and then we can,

[8:58]you know, these regimes can diffuse some of the anger of their

[9:03]own populace, uh, and continue pretending this game that they somehow care

[9:08]for, uh, the Palestinians, which they don't.

[9:11]They don't even care for their own citizens, these states.

[9:14]>> And, and you referenced this as you were as you were

[9:17]speaking, but I think it's also worth delving into because interesting.

[9:21]It's played a role historically in brokering diplomatic efforts between you know

[9:26]the west and the east and uh recently we've seen it as

[9:29]a mediator of indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel.

[9:34]Um but really it it seems to be playing this dual identity

[9:37]where it will position itself as the defender of Palestine in word

[9:44]at least but it still heavily accommodates US and Israeli interests.

[9:46]And this is a reality many are finding it difficult to grasp

[9:49]here.

[9:49]But do you see there being any changes to dealing with America

[9:56]and Israel after this incident?

[9:57]>> No, I don't think so.

[10:01]There's no way is occupied literally.

[10:02]I mean Alid base has I think 13 or 15,000 soldiers just

[10:08]there's other American bases inside Qatar.

[10:11]The whole population of Qatar is when we're talking about citizens is

[10:15]less than 800,000 people.

[10:19]Uh so it's it's an occupied country.

[10:22]It's no way that Qatar can do anything.

[10:25]And uh even if uh Qatar somehow says a leave America, I

[10:30]mean look at Iraq.

[10:31]The parliament, the prime minister, the presidents all of asked the Americans

[10:39]to leave at the end of the war and they haven't left.

[10:42]So there's no um it's not a sovereign country and in fact

[10:48]just to make it very clear about what is the role of

[10:50]Al Jazzer.

[10:51]Uh Al Jazzer was created after the collapse of the Soviet Union

[10:55]when there was no more uh competition to the American propaganda directed

[11:01]to the Arabic world.

[11:05]the Soviet propaganda than done and the countries that uh had you

[11:10]know some financial support by the Soviet Union to create their own

[11:14]propaganda spheres to speak to the Arabic masses let's say like Syria

[11:18]or uh Libya or others lost all of that.

[11:22]So, Al Jazzer was uh created with the sole purpose of capturing

[11:29]the Arab masses and was allowed from day one to speak in

[11:36]favor of Palestinian human rights here, not not anything else, just the

[11:42]human rights of Palestinians in ways that the other Arab state media,

[11:46]even the ones that are vassiles of the US, were not allowed

[11:51]to do, like the Saudi media or ori media or what have

[11:54]you.

[11:55]And this allows Qatar to capture and which it did through Alazer

[12:02]the vast majority of the Arabic audience and then to influence them

[12:06]on every other file uh to be in a pro-imperialist position whether

[12:13]it's the war in Syria or uh the war in Yemen or

[12:19]sectarianism.

[12:18]There's so much sectarianism in in Al Jazzer, anti-Shia, anti-alawi, anti-Christian, anti-

[12:25]others, right?

[12:28]Uh that that in ways that uh you know create shisms in

[12:31]the Arabic world.

[12:34]So Al Jazzer just like the Arabic uh vasau kings are allowed

[12:38]to uh cry crocodile tears for Palestinian children while they are uh

[12:44]sending the oil and gas that's running the machine that's killing those

[12:49]Palestinian children.

[12:51]Al Jazzer is allowed in order to capture the Arabic audience to

[12:56]speak about Palestinian human rights only and then against anyone and everyone

[13:01]that supports the liberation of Palestine.

[13:02]And you mentioned uh you know their audience being the Arab world

[13:06]but it's it's very interesting even here in the west one of

[13:09]the outlets that a lot of people have turned to especially with

[13:13]coverage on Palestine because you know the mainstream does not do a

[13:18]good job of it and they really have understood the mainstream especially

[13:21]in relation to Palestine to be very biased.

[13:26]Many actually uh view alazer here as that independent or alternative media.

[13:31]And it's it's interesting because they a lot of people when they

[13:33]do want to source things that are outside of the mainstream they

[13:36]will do they will reference Alazer English.

[13:39]I know the Arabic is the Arabic version is different and they

[13:42]have a whole separate thing but at least Alazer English has become

[13:45]a huge source and many actually consider it to be very reliable

[13:49]here because it's been speaking about Palestine and Palestinian rights and as

[13:52]you mentioned human dignity another thing though and maybe you can expand

[13:58]on this but when speaking about resistance uh Alazer English at least

[14:02]I'm not sure how the Arabic is I I hear that it's

[14:05]a little bit more open about it but Alazer English it does

[14:08]not openly support resistance.

[14:10]But what it does not do is it does not use the

[14:14]same language that the mainstream here uses, for example, identifying them as

[14:19]terrorist or, you know, just perpetuating that same narrative that media outlets

[14:23]here do, which is why many people gravitate toward it.

[14:25]What are your thoughts on that?

[14:27]Well, you know, out of all the imperialist uh media arms, um

[14:34]I think Alazer right now is the most successful.

[14:37]like the rest of the western um propaganda machine could have been

[14:46]a little bit smart and put a few crying, you know, uh

[14:50]pieces about Palestinian uh children dying while continuing with the rest of

[14:57]the programming as Al Jazzer does uh to press uh you know

[15:03]imperialist western um perspective.

[15:05]This is what's funny, you know, uh the Zionists that control the

[15:12]rest of the imperialist media uh sphere have lost their mind.

[15:15]They used to be the best propagandists, the Zionists.

[15:20]Look at Hollywood movies and um in news during the 80s and

[15:23]90s and so on.

[15:25]But now they have lost their mind and the Qataris are doing

[15:28]better service to the Americans with Al Jazzer now including Al Jazzer

[15:34]English than all the Western propaganda machine combined because it's keeping the

[15:41]flock still within the boundaries of imperialist thought of this uh you

[15:49]know human rights um you know border thing that you can't speak

[15:54]outside.

[15:54]uh and so uh obviously the population in the west uh has

[16:02]the you know a desert situation in terms of media it they

[16:06]don't know where to find something that is uh uh actually alternative

[16:10]and Alazer is cashing in on it >> and that's for sure

[16:17]one thing though I would ask you do you do you see

[16:21]there being value because Alazer one I can argue One pro that

[16:24]it has had is it's opened the eyes of many people here

[16:29]who had never really been exposed to what is really happening in

[16:32]Palestine it has been an informative outlet for many of them and

[16:35]although you know as you're mentioning very valid points but one of

[16:38]the thing it does do is for example when some of the

[16:42]language that I've seen from Al Jazer is it will stress that

[16:46]let's say Hamas rockets or their operations are responses to Israeli occupation

[16:52]it won't directly say the resistance is the answer to liberation.

[16:55]But it phrases it in a very smart way where it's not

[16:58]labeled as repeating mainstream narratives, but it's also not fully saying what

[17:05]many other outlets like let's say Almayadin would say.

[17:11]I have worked in uh broadcasting and media for 30 years in

[17:15]Canada.

[17:16]And um I I believe that the audience is much smarter than

[17:22]what media executives tell us they are.

[17:25]And much of the limitations in speech that these media organizations put

[17:31]and justify to their own uh workers and then their own viewers

[17:37]are actually uh unnecessary and work negative uh to the aim of

[17:46]u media and journalism.

[17:51]So I I think that this is why the uh audience is

[17:55]so u you know looking constantly on social media as we see

[18:01]for voices that are much clearer >> right >> people are fed

[18:06]up I mean look the right-wing the imperialist the Zionist are very

[18:11]blunt they are producing media that is urging genocide that is justifying

[18:16]raping of prisoners.

[18:20]That is justifying the killing of children and mass destruction openly.

[18:25]And what people are so desperate that we justify that the other

[18:33]side of what we would call alternative media is so uh moderate

[18:37]and dancing around wars.

[18:40]That that is not a success in this day and age.

[18:42]In this day and age of outright fascism, it is uh paramount

[18:49]that media producers that are against genocide, that are against imperialism, that

[18:54]are against occupation uh speak also as clear as our enemy does.

[18:58]And another you know angle to Al Jazer as you have mentioned

[19:04]is aside one kind of theme that works here as you mentioned

[19:07]the audience is smart but unfortunately when it comes to certain themes

[19:11]I think it's difficult for people to separate that one outlet like

[19:17]Alazer might be open and expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and because

[19:21]it's oh that's there's that one outlet that's actually doing that so

[19:24]it's almost like a relief for them is oh our media is

[19:28]doing such a bad Oh, but Al Jazzer is not they're, you

[19:30]know, talking about it.

[19:32]They're not avoiding the question.

[19:33]And so it happens in a way where just because they're speaking

[19:36]about a certain topic, the rest of the things they say, and

[19:40]you alluded to this, if you look at, you know, that deeper

[19:41]trend within the tone and the content Alazer produces, for example, many

[19:45]don't know that it it mirrors certain Western imperial narratives on countries.

[19:51]You mentioned Syria, um, Yemen.

[19:53]There's also countries like, you know, Libya, even Venezuela, uh, which are,

[19:57]you know, Venezuela, which is not even a Muslim country.

[20:00]So, in even these cases, we do see the paring of some

[20:04]of these Western narratives.

[20:04]And it's almost as though just because they're talking about Palestine, it

[20:09]might mean that they're also right on these issues.

[20:10]So, it's kind of playing that game of association.

[20:13]And it's hard for the audience sometimes to separate these because they

[20:17]say an outlet that's just talking about, you know, the bare minimum

[20:20]uh at a time when no one else is.

[20:22]We can maybe trust them for other things as well.

[20:25]How would what would your response be to people who have a

[20:28]difficult time kind of distinguishing?

[20:31]>> Yeah, definitely.

[20:34]Al Jazzer plays this kind of like last guard before the flock

[20:37]uh runs away and captures them, right?

[20:40]This is there and because everybody's also looking for high quality content

[20:46]and it's very hard to produce news content not let's say documentary

[20:53]or field reporting as I do but in this you know high

[20:56]uh 4K 8K whatever it is production value that Al Jazzer does

[21:04]or the mainstream media does.

[21:05]So, Al Jazer plays kind of like this uh point guard at

[21:08]the end of the field as the audience is running away from

[21:15]mainstream media and captures them.

[21:16]Now uh as you made clear al Jazzer on issues like Ukraine,

[21:20]on Cuba, on North Korea, on any African issue that is counter

[21:28]American or British interest or Venezuela as you said uh is totally

[21:35]on side with the imperial um plans.

[21:38]So you cannot trust Al Jazzer as your primary source and you're

[21:43]only doing the empire service by watching Al Jazer in the end.

[21:50]uh and uh as the American audience that is watching must understand

[21:56]is that throughout my work uh in community uh media in Canada

[22:00]and the US I was boggled at the huge amount of money

[22:07]that is floated and how uselessly it's directed.

[22:09]I mean probably in a city like um u Detroit uh or

[22:17]Durban let's say for our community there is Arabic there's at least

[22:21]four community radio stations probably there's at least two campus community stations

[22:26]there's on each of those campuses three newspapers there's probably every uh

[22:31]community in terms of cultural community has their own community newspaper uh

[22:37]there's all these streams that uh and and you calculate it and

[22:42]there's always like 105 million dollars every city is wasting on supposedly

[22:51]community uh media and it's not affecting anything.

[22:53]So I feel after living so long in the west and seeing

[22:59]how I compare the realities of media production in the region here

[23:03]and how it's we're desperate for funding and how content can come

[23:11]out from uh people in Gaza during the extermination that is more

[23:15]effective than uh all those millions that are being spent in community

[23:20]uh initiatives, media initiatives in the west and and I go crazy

[23:24]when I see that.

[23:28]So people can create even alternative to Al Jazzer itself.

[23:32]The money is there within our communities.

[23:35]The uh drive is there.

[23:40]Our youth want to tell our stories.

[23:44]Even if our older people are getting tired, there's a drive within

[23:48]our community and there is the resources and we can do better

[23:51]than Al Jazzer.

[23:52]Absolutely.

[23:53]And you know speaking about media narratives and how people are viewing

[23:56]everything that's happening.

[23:58]I also want to end with speaking about the larger region and

[24:01]one of the biggest revelations that has become a huge question in

[24:04]people's minds for the past two years especially is how much inaction

[24:08]there has been on the part of Arab states um especially the

[24:14]pro Persian Gulf states obviously Turkey uh Turkey as well in relation

[24:18]to Palestine and now many are saying because these states have each

[24:21]of them their own vested interests and their intricacies and deep you

[24:25]know military and financial and economic ties with the west and they're

[24:28]trying to play it safe.

[24:31]But one thing we've also seen in history is that when all

[24:34]these countries do unite, they actually can, you know, have a huge

[24:37]influence.

[24:37]And one of the most, you know, glaring examples of that is

[24:43]the 1973 Arab oil embargo, which was led by Saudi Arabia and,

[24:46]you know, members of uh Arab members of OPEC, you know, imposed

[24:49]an oil embargo against the US and it had tremendous effect.

[24:54]you know, we're talking energy shortages, uh, even triggering a recession, uh,

[24:58]just really putting massive pressure on Western governments to reconsider their unconditional

[25:03]support for Israel.

[25:05]Why do you think they can no longer do that now?

[25:08]What has changed?

[25:09]>> Well, maybe I'm going to pop a big bubble here for

[25:15]everybody.

[25:16]Uh, but really the, uh, oil embargo was not um in favor

[25:20]of Palestine.

[25:22]Uh, in fact, just so everybody can understand, the oil embargo led

[25:27]to uh Nixon u you know decoupling with gold from the dollar

[25:36]and for the Soviet Union to buckle and accept that the international

[25:41]currency is not anymore gold but the American dollar at the United

[25:45]Nations.

[25:46]And that led to of course uh the whole third world debt

[25:49]that we know today.

[25:52]uh the oil money that was made in that uh moment of

[25:55]the oil embargo was all put in American and British banks and

[26:01]the American and British banks had so much money at that point

[26:04]that they went and lended every African and every Latin American country

[26:09]any money they want and uh then Nixon within nine months raised

[26:13]the uh the interest rates and that's why we have the third

[26:21]world debt Uh the oil embargo was not done to support Palestine

[26:25]and it didn't actually change the West's position on supplying the Zionist

[26:30]colony with weapons and the West made the most money out of

[26:34]it.

[26:33]Maybe the the the Europeans suffered a little bit with oil shortages,

[26:38]but the Americans had their own oil and gas as we know

[26:40]as uh for always.

[26:43]So and uh the best case scenario and this is some of

[26:45]the Saudi uh people like to bring it up.

[26:49]The best case scenario was King Fesal being deposed and thrown into

[26:57]a um institution crazy house in Switzerland and replaced by his brother.

[27:03]That was the the west the best interpretation of what happened.

[27:08]Um u but uh clearly uh Saudi Arabia is is now even

[27:17]more occupied than it was before uh since the first Gulf War

[27:20]and the arrival of those t tens of thousands of American soldiers

[27:23]to the ground.

[27:25]Um, and uh, no, it's not going to be an easy thing

[27:31]to expect these nations, these states, the people in Turkey, the people

[27:35]in Sy, you know, Saudi Kingdom and so on, they're all 100%

[27:38]pro Palestinian liberation, but their governments have been in alliance with the

[27:49]British and the Americans after them since the 1910s, 1912s when we're

[27:55]talking about the Saud family uh leading the revolt against the Ottomans

[28:00]basically with the Hashemites in the Hij.

[28:03]So it's it's hard to see them changing right now.

[28:06]They don't have their own weapons productions or anything like that.

[28:10]The world is is um not going to change through these regimes.

[28:16]It's going to change through action of people and we hope that

[28:21]uh there will be a birth of new movements of liberation in

[28:24]the area as a response to the total um darkness that we're

[28:28]living right now.

[28:30]So really and and you mentioned how the oil embargo really did

[28:32]not achieve what it what many say it was meant to um

[28:37]as we've seen with you know examples of um just you know

[28:42]closing the Red Sea and just these things that do put economic

[28:45]pressure and can have a a role especially when it comes to

[28:50]things like oil.

[28:50]Um if these are not even working then what would you say

[28:54]does work and you mentioned right now it's coming from the people

[28:57]but the governments have to have some role in this as well

[29:01]wouldn't you say?

[29:01]>> Yeah and and these governments or all governments even the US

[29:07]government uh doesn't do anything until the people force them to do

[29:12]it and so uh action is required.

[29:14]Look there's now this flutella that's going to Gaza.

[29:18]I think it would have been better for them to go and

[29:20]blockade the UK base in Cyprus that is controlling all the uh

[29:28]theater of activities over Gaza.

[29:29]Much of the bombardment of Gaza is being directed from Cypress.

[29:34]Those ships could have blockaded the straight of uh Sicily, block all

[29:40]American ships bringing weapons or western weapons to they could have blockaded

[29:44]Gibralar.

[29:45]Okay.

[29:46]with those 60 ships that they have.

[29:50]There's ways for the civilians, nonviolent um non-armed ways to uh force

[29:56]the governments to actually follow international law and and end support to

[30:00]the genocide.

[30:02]Similarly, in Turkey, uh people could blockade their ports.

[30:07]As as I said before, 85% of all shipping going into the

[30:10]Zionist colony is coming from Turkey and Egypt.

[30:13]You know, I know that the Egyptian people um will be disappeared

[30:19]and they are being disappeared when they are doing anything for Palestine,

[30:23]but maybe our brothers and sisters in Turkey will have a better

[30:27]chance.

[30:28]Uh maybe their government is not as ruthless as the CC government.

[30:32]Maybe they can um stop as the dock workers in Greece and

[30:40]in Italy who are refusing to um you know uh put the

[30:43]um products on ships going to the Zionist colony.

[30:46]Our brothers and sisters in Turkey could do that.

[30:51]There's many ways and we should not wait for the governments to

[30:55]do anything and we shouldn't put our hopes in these governments that

[30:59]have done nothing in 80 years to aid the Palestinian people or

[31:02]to end the genocide.

[31:05]All the states and peoples that have supported the Pal Palestine have

[31:10]been actually destroyed by these states.

[31:13]So it's it's hard to imagine them suddenly uh doing good for

[31:17]Palestine, >> right?

[31:20]And just to kind of close this conversation and you mentioned it's

[31:23]the people who have to put the pressure on the governments.

[31:25]Uh one other you know recent update that we have is just

[31:29]in the past week we know Israel has struck several countries in

[31:32]the region including Qatar, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon which you have covered as

[31:37]well and obviously Gaza and you as well have covering have been

[31:39]covering Lebanon for a while now.

[31:41]Can you tell us based on what you have seen in your

[31:44]experience, how do you see things unfolding?

[31:46]Because on one hand, you're mentioning it's the people who should be

[31:48]putting the pressure on the government, but we've seen for the past

[31:51]2 years, people have been doing so much and you mentioned obviously

[31:54]the flotillas.

[31:55]That has also been a huge symbolic move saying you know our

[31:59]governments as you have said have done absolutely nothing and now we

[32:01]have to take things in our own hands even if we know

[32:05]we're going to face consequences for it.

[32:07]But each time and this the flotillaa is a great example of

[32:10]it.

[32:10]Um Israel has either bombed near the flotilla the flotillaa itself detained

[32:15]its you know the people on board interrogated some of them sent

[32:20]some of them back.

[32:20]How do you see this realistically happening given all of this you

[32:24]know pressure and how the governments really have a huge stronghold on

[32:27]their people especially if their foreign policy is aligned with Israel and

[32:33]the US.

[32:33]Yeah, I mean look, the genocide will continue in Gaza and uh

[32:41]the pressure mounting in the streets of the west is now getting

[32:44]to a boiling point.

[32:46]And this is why we see the governments in the west rushing

[32:50]with draonian um laws uh to try to stem the eminent violence

[32:59]that's going to come in the streets because there is no political

[33:04]representation for the vast majority of citizens of the UK, of the

[33:07]US, of Canada who are opposed to this genocide and there's no

[33:12]political party that wants to represent them whether it's in the US

[33:15]with the true democ two party system or in Canada with the

[33:18]multi-party system or in the UK there's no parties that are offering

[33:24]uh opposition to genocide.

[33:24]So the street is now totally detached from the political class and

[33:30]uh you know we see the law coming in the UK banning

[33:37]um Palestine action as a terrorist organization.

[33:39]we see those laws that are now coming in the US with

[33:43]with the shooting of um Charlie Kirk or whatever his name is

[33:50]um you know threats to withdraw the passports of American citizens that

[33:54]criticize the state of Israel or and so you're you're getting to

[34:00]a point where the clash is imminent and on a large scale

[34:03]and we already had some um indicators of it in in the

[34:09]US more than any other place.

[34:11]Whether it was the shooting of the two Israeli um you know

[34:14]propaganda employees at the embassy in DC or the attack on the

[34:23]Zionist demonstration in uh Colorado.

[34:24]Those all indicate that the violence is coming to the streets.

[34:29]I personally see that the genocide in Gaza is now uh going

[34:37]to cause civil unrest in the west.

[34:38]And that along with the battle on the ground here that will

[34:44]continue.

[34:44]There will be most probably another attack on Lebanon, another war on

[34:48]Lebanon and maybe another war on Iran if the Zionists are totally

[34:52]crazy.

[34:53]uh and you know I don't know how many people are going

[34:58]to be genocided but uh the numbers right now that we are

[35:03]seeing of 600 plus thousand Palestinians killed in Gaza maybe by the

[35:08]end of uh the next nine months there will be none left

[35:16]in Gaza.

[35:12]Uh but all of this uh I think doesn't um deny that

[35:19]there will be an end to the Zionist colony.

[35:23]there's all all this explosion of um violence around us in the

[35:28]world uh will lead in the end to the inevitable end of

[35:34]the Zionist colony.

[35:36]I just don't know how violent it's going to be the next

[35:39]uh nine months.
