[0:08]number one verse number 14 of surah turad chapter number 13 says

[0:15]if you call anyone other than allah you will not benefit with

[0:19]anything how is this so and how can it be reconciled with

[0:24]tawasul number two the most important ayah in demonstrating the validity of

[0:32]tawasul is in chapter five surat al ma'adah verse number 35 often

[0:42]this ayah is always used isn't it some have come forward and

[0:46]said this waseelah is salah this waseelah is ammalus salih righteous deeds

[0:51]it is not invoking those certain human beings how do we respond

[0:58]chapter number two surat al baqarah amongst the ayat that talk about

[1:02]siyam there is a ayah in the middle that is very common

[1:05]to you and i that is very known you've heard of this

[1:19]ayah this is something that many have used including some from the

[1:24]school of al bay they say the quran says allah is close

[1:27]why do we need when he says i am close to you

[1:35]we can ask allah directly allah first in the holy quran allah

[1:40]subhanahu wa ta'ala gives a parable yes this is in suratu ra'ad

[1:46]to allah is the supplication the dua that is truthful no doubt

[1:52]if you call anyone other than allah they will not respond to

[2:00]you and you will not be benefited in any shape or form

[2:04]then the quran gives a parable it's like somebody who wants to

[2:13]drink water extends their hands but the water is far for example

[2:19]there is water in the well the quran gives this semilitude please

[2:23]pay attention the subject tonight is slightly difficult but it requires your

[2:27]attention the individual wants water he or she is sitting requires the

[2:32]water for their thirst but does not go to the well or

[2:36]where the water is extends their hands the quran says so that

[2:40]the water can reach them they don't do anything they will not

[2:46]reach the water this dua of the disbelievers is what a stray

[2:54]meaning that you are supplicating but you will not reach where you

[2:58]want to reach the ulamah the mufa syrian have said there are

[3:02]three interpretations of this ayah number one somebody who sits and extends

[3:07]the hands but does not go and get the water somebody goes

[3:09]to the well but does not take the water out puts their

[3:12]hand inside the well and cannot get the water or the third

[3:15]one which i like the most is quran says when you put

[3:19]your hands but you don't put them together when someone pours the

[3:23]water on your hands if you don't put them together what happens

[3:25]you can't grab much of the water it falls so the quran

[3:29]says you will not be able to hold on to enough water

[3:32]for you to drink therefore the conclusion that some have come forward

[3:36]and said is if you invoke anyone other than allah your dua

[3:40]will not be answered as per this ayah how do we respond

[3:44]number one when it comes to the response we define tawassul as

[3:48]what that we are seeking meanness to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala through

[3:54]intermediaries who are not independent of the almighty subhanahu wa ta'ala in

[4:00]the recognition that tawassul does not take those individuals to be separate

[4:05]entities from the almighty subhanahu wa ta'ala they are means to him

[4:09]jallah wa'ala which means what which means that when the almighty subhanahu

[4:14]wa ta'ala says those who invoke others other than allah it is

[4:19]not in reference to the practice of ta'wassul because in the practice

[4:22]of tawassul we are invoking allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but we are

[4:27]musing means towards him he is referring in this ayah to those

[4:32]who call upon idols and statues other than allah those who worship

[4:37]other than allah those who identify other than gods than the almighty

[4:41]subhanahu wa ta'ala in tawassul we believe these individuals the holy prophets

[4:47]and the ahlal bayt are human beings who are servants of the

[4:52]almighty whom the almighty has selected and specifically chosen and they are

[4:59]close to the almighty therefore we use them to gain proximity to

[5:04]him subhanahu wa ta'ala somebody asked the question is there a practice

[5:10]similar to this in the quran we say yes prophet isa says

[5:17]what he says allah says you create you create from the clay

[5:28]something which becomes a bird but by my permission then you you

[5:38]isa blow into it it becomes a real bad with my permission

[5:45]i ask you isa is committing shirk isa is creating with the

[5:52]permission of allah yes think about this anyone who tells you tell

[5:58]them isa what do mean isa isa is what is doing something

[6:04]with the permission of allah yes and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala saying

[6:08]it's all under my supervision i am giving you the opportunity to

[6:13]do this yes similarly with wasilah allah has chosen these individuals and

[6:19]he wants them to be intermediaries to him and we'll discuss why

[6:24]in a minute if you say that the shia and the sunnis

[6:29]who practice tawas sul amushriqeen there is no doubt you are saying

[6:33]isa is a mushrik no doubt because isa is also what doing

[6:41]something which the almighty subhanahu wa ta'ala would do creation but it's

[6:45]with the permission of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that's why who is

[6:49]the first human being to do tawasul question today many questions who

[6:53]is the first human being to practice tawasul adam allah mahathir jallalad

[6:59]din suriyoti who is a shafi'i professor of the quran yes comes

[7:03]forward in his book durul mantur says when adam wanted some respite

[7:09]something something to return back to the mercy of allah yes he

[7:13]was taught a sentence he was taught to say allah the first

[7:23]to practice was the first human being he is teaching you and

[7:29]i that is part and parcel of our lives if the first

[7:33]human being does then we can do isn't it that's why this

[7:41]is how this particular misconception is responded to this ayah this parable

[7:48]in the quran is not against our soul it's against the worshiping

[7:52]of idols that's the first one second idea some of the ulama

[8:08]from other schools have said waseelah here does not mean the intercession

[8:13]that the shias or the sunnis commit it is salah it is

[8:18]good deeds how do we respond number one in arabic there is

[8:22]a difference between waseelah and waseelah yes waseelah it comes from wasool

[8:30]yes wasool means something that you use to get from a to

[8:33]b anything and you do not have to have a affinity with

[8:39]it a connection with it you just use it like a car

[8:42]waseelah is something that you use to get from one place to

[8:47]another and you have a deep connection or you have love for

[8:50]it the quran has come forward and said there is a special

[9:00]deed that human beings have connection with number one number two let's

[9:04]assume a salah no problem the quran says you who believe you

[9:13]have iman second must have taqwa then after having iman and after

[9:18]having taqwa you must now do salah ajib what happened to taqwa

[9:23]and iman the quran would not say iman taqwa salah salah is

[9:29]part of iman and taqwa isn't it similarly if you say quran

[9:35]always uses amr us salah why would it use this waseelah instead

[9:39]of amr us salah good deeds isn't it therefore what is this

[9:46]waseelah that the quran is speaking about you look at other verses

[9:49]in the quran chapter four verse number 64 lots of ayat to

[9:52]this particular discussion allah says there are people who have wronged themselves

[10:01]they come and seek istighfar from allah allah says that's not enough

[10:06]ask someone who says ask them the quran says the rasool the

[10:13]holy prophet must do istikfar for them too surely it's sufficient for

[10:17]the almighty to perform istikfar for an individual why would the holy

[10:20]prophet has to do istighfar allah says without the prophet doing istighfar

[10:26]allah would not forgive allah this is quran yes there is a

[10:32]means towards the mercy and the forgiveness from allah and that is

[10:37]the holy prophet therefore this is in response to this finally if

[10:49]it is salah or amalu salah let's just assume you know we

[10:52]in scientific discussions in these kind of debates take just hypothesizing let's

[10:59]say the quran says it's salah let's assume yes let's assume its

[11:03]prayers i ask you what is the condition for the fulfillment of

[11:07]prayers and for its acceptance in islam we the school of ahlul

[11:11]baytan by the way i as a mu'min as a believer in

[11:16]ali muhammad i don't need to find my aqeedah in the teachings

[11:20]of other schools in order to practice what is sufficient for me

[11:24]is that the ahlul bayt have told me is something i will

[11:27]practice i don't need bukhari and muslim to validate my actions we

[11:33]sometimes feel this need to support our deeds from other schools there

[11:39]is no need i want to prove it to others for them

[11:42]to practice no problem but for you and i i don't need

[11:46]other schools to verify it for me to be saying that i

[11:50]will practice of the al bayt is it now what is my

[11:54]aqidah saying my aqidah saying is on the eighteenth of dhul hijjah

[11:58]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala revealed the near 10 after hijra al yom

[12:00]akmal alaikum atman to alaikum on the day of khadir allah subhanahu

[12:07]says today the religion has been complete and the the blessings of

[12:10]allah have been perfected question it was perfected and completed with what

[12:15]of ali muhammad which in brief without the of ali muhammad we

[12:20]believe our amal are not accepted so salah and need the of

[12:25]ali muhammad for it to be accepted therefore the even if it

[12:28]is salah all the all the actual eventually have to be approved

[12:33]by ali muhammad therefore the recognition is i as a believer must

[12:43]yes have for the acceptance of my deeds is absolutely necessary this

[12:47]is my aqidah yes that is why this is what is the

[12:51]waseelah of ali muhammad even if you accept or you want to

[12:54]take it to mean other things the third area very quickly to

[12:58]answer and this is very very important and that is what the

[13:02]ayah that says allah says when the servant of mine asks you

[13:11]about me i am close many people have come forward and say

[13:16]why do we need here if the quran is saying we are

[13:19]allah says that i am close to you very simple answer allah

[13:24]is close to us but we are not close to allah our

[13:28]deeds our sins our actions place us before allah allah is closer

[13:32]to us than he lies between us and our hearts yes he's

[13:35]close to us but we need the means of nearness to him

[13:38]due to our deeds and actions due to our own shortcomings yes

[13:45]the quran says remember means to him subhanahu wa ta'ala this is

[13:51]the biggest word in response to anyone who says it's shirk because

[13:56]the quran is saying you seek a means of to him we

[13:59]are worshiping him and him alone there is no polytheism there is

[14:04]no association of any other god other than the almighty subhanahu wa

[14:08]ta'ala that's why the holy six imam imam jafar ibn muhammad al

[14:11]saddad this is in wassa al shia one day he was sitting

[14:19]and eating somebody by the name of abu hanifa you all know

[14:22]him and muhammad ibn thabit was eating with him yes imam asad

[14:26]when he finishes he says and then he says you allah this

[14:34]food is from you and from your prophet abu hamifa is now

[14:39]what is now firing on all cylinders he's saying to the imam

[14:44]you abba abdullah you are now making a partner with allah this

[14:53]food is from allah only imam saddak saying you allah thank you

[14:58]to you and to your prophet imam saddak look at this we

[15:02]follow ahlul bayt because their speech is the speech of the quran

[15:06]he gives him proof from the quran what does he say he

[15:08]quotes verse number 74 of chapter nine surah to tawbah where allah

[15:12]says the quran here says that they were not satisfied until allah

[15:24]and his messenger gave them from their grace the prophet has a

[15:33]grace couldn't allah say allah only notice this is the month of

[15:42]the quran imam saddiq said to him this is what it says

[15:47]yes and that's why you know some of the sahaba they used

[15:50]to the second hadith you know what he used to do he

[15:52]used to recite volume two bukhari he used to say when the

[15:57]prophet was alive we used to seek the prophet because we need

[16:02]rain now now we're seeking intercession with the uncle of your prophet

[16:08]abbas it was a common practice amongst the sahab i leave you

[16:13]with the final point please reflect anyone shia or sunni who's questioning

[16:18]tawasul ask them this question when on the twenty fourth of the

[16:22]al hajjar the holy prophet of islam was what was going out

[16:27]on this malediction mubahala when the christians of najran asked him yes

[16:33]for this particular challenge to ask allah to send his punishment on

[16:39]those who are the liars ask any muslim today please would the

[16:46]prophet of islam had been sufficient to go by himself or not

[16:51]ask if they say not you say why he's the best and

[16:56]the greatest human being then why did he go with ali fatima

[17:01]hassan al hussain he went think about it he is sending a

[17:04]message to all of humanity commanded by allah because allah says to

[17:09]him take them the prophet of islam willingly take ali who is

[17:15]his nafs takes fatima who represents all women takes hassan and hussein

[17:19]who are his own sons goes forward the people see those individuals

[17:23]their light is so immense they say we will not even go

[17:26]with this malediction because we will be destroyed there will be no

[17:29]christian alive why did the prophet take these individuals he is sending

[17:32]a message to every individual she answered me in this day and

[17:36]age you question if you want allah to answer your dua then

[17:40]use muhammad wa ali muhammad there is no other way to explain

[17:51]why the prophet of islam is commanded to take the ahlul bayt

[17:54]alihamsalaam may allah subhana wa ta'alaam make us of the people of

[17:57]tawasul that we indeed recite we recite when we go for ziyarah

[18:03]during our lifetimes during a month of ramadan do not somehow immediately

[18:09]because of a clip on youtube or somebody questioning immediately begin to

[18:14]have doubts over your aqidah which is sound from the quran and

[18:17]the teachings of ali muhammad peace and blessings be upon him now
