[3:23][Music] [Music] foreign [Music] bless your gathering with the remembrance of Muhammad

[3:50]Ali Muhammad as a gift to the soul of mawlana rasulullah and

[4:03]his honorable and purified progeny recite the second Salah for Allah to

[4:18]shower unto this gathering with his infinite mercy and compassion and to

[4:22]haste in the reappearance recite the third to the loudest of your

[4:31]voices the eighth chapter from the Holy Quran or The Spoils of

[4:52]War contains 75 verses which were revealed in the holy city of

[5:01]Medina discusses a series of events which took place between the second

[5:15]to the seventh year after the Hijra of rasulullah to Medina and

[5:24]as one can tell from the title of this chapter Allah within

[5:32]the store Surah discusses many Affairs and regards to battles and Wars

[5:46]which the Muslim Community encountered after the migration of the Prophet from

[5:53]the holy city of Mecca to the holy city of Medina and

[6:02]specifically speaks of the issue of The Spoils of War and the

[6:11]eighth chapter receives its title after the very first Ayah within the

[6:19]chapter or Allah says yes they ask you meaning the companions ask

[6:33]you Allah in regards to The Spoils of War tell them belong

[6:45]to Allah and within the first two pages of the chapter Allah

[7:01]discusses the Battle of Pedro and how there was a disagreement amongst

[7:11]the scholars and amongst the companions in regards to The Spoils of

[7:19]War after the battle of Badr which took place in the second

[7:23]year after the and the holy city of Medina it appears though

[7:28]that the Arabs of jaheliyah when they would go to war The

[7:36]Spoils of War would not be divided justly or fairly but the

[7:45]people with more prestige with more Fame with more popularity would be

[7:53]able to take a bigger share from The Spoils of War even

[7:59]though those individuals would not even fight but they would stand as

[8:03]backup they would say to the youngsters or to their servants or

[8:13]their slaves you go on war you go to the battle you

[8:16]go and fight however if things got dangerous where we were losing

[8:21]the battle then we'll come forward but in the end of the

[8:26]day when the battle would be over they're the ones that take

[8:29]The Spoils of War some tribes would come to the prophet some

[8:34]tribes what's come to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and say look

[8:38]we are the heads of the tribes and if we were to

[8:46]bring our entire tribe to the battle then we want 50 of

[8:50]The Spoils of War we want 60 percent of The Spoils of

[8:55]War because that's how things were and the pre-islamic era in the

[8:59]time of jahiliyah ahead or the Sheikh of the Ashira the head

[9:04]of the tribe he would come and say I would participate in

[9:08]your war with my entire tribe but once the war is over

[9:16]we'll take 70 80 percent of The Spoils of the war so

[9:19]before the Muslim Community went and after they came back from they

[9:24]had those questions to rasulullah what's going to happen to The Spoils

[9:30]of War how are they going to be divided yes now Allah

[9:35]responds tell them that The Spoils of War belong to Allah and

[9:45]to rasulullah why because Allah and the Battle of bad as it

[9:52]stated in the eighth chapter within the first 20 verses says you

[9:58]prayed to Allah for assistance and Allah gave you assistance you prayed

[10:02]to Allah for victory and Allah gave you victory and he enabled

[10:08]you with One Thousand Angels he gave you one thousand angels so

[10:17]that you can bring victory in this battle more importantly Allah reminds

[10:25]them of their journey to bed and how they were extremely fatigued

[10:30]when they reached the area of bed where the battle was about

[10:34]to take place they were extremely stressed frightened but Allah put them

[10:42]to sleep they slept they woke up extremely fresh that Allah says

[10:49]and I send the rain unto you so you took showers and

[10:54]you drank from the water then you were capable to bring Victory

[10:57]within this battle this battle what brought you a victory Now The

[11:02]Spoils of War also allow Allah and the prophet to decide on

[11:11]how The Spoils of War will be divided Allah names the eighth

[11:19]chapter after the specific eye yes [Music] tell them that the matter

[11:29]of al-anfall The Spoils of War belongs to Allah and to the

[11:35]prophet however and The Spoils of War According to some Scholars is

[11:40]the extra Spoils of War not the actual Spoils of War what

[11:46]do I mean I mean when the war takes place everyone takes

[11:50]their share of The Spoils of War however there are some things

[11:54]which are extra for example the enemy withdraws and leaves horses leaves

[11:59]cattle leaves some for example weapons leaves some uh things that are

[12:11]worth money leaves them behind and runs away some scholars believe al-anfall

[12:21]is related to that which remains as extra that extra what do

[12:29]we do with it Allah Allah decide what they're going to do

[12:32]with it and this Hadith is also verified by Ali Imam when

[12:43]he says it is that which is extra like the nawafil what

[12:52]are nawafil now I feel are the extra prayers can also be

[12:58]referred to as extra Siam extra Hajj extra charity anything that is

[13:05]extra and above that which is wajib is considered al-anfan now al-anfall

[13:14]go to Allah and obviously Allah authorizes the prophet to spend them

[13:18]and after the prophet comes the Khalifa rasulullah The Imam the Imam

[13:24]would spend al-anfall specifically that is to make peace and to reconcile

[13:38]between the Muslim Community or within families and I recall once was

[13:49]one of the companions was one of the students you know I

[13:57]have a big problem and the problem is that me and my

[14:03]sister have a dispute when it comes to our inheritance there is

[14:10]400 dirhams that she claims it is hers and I want to

[14:16]divide the 400 Dirhams amongst me and my sister took 400 Dirhams

[14:21]and he gave it to Abu hanifa where do you get the

[14:33]400 dirhams he says it is not my money it is he

[14:40]told me once you see dispute amongst my community try to resolve

[14:48]this dispute with the money that I have entrusted with you therefore

[14:54]the infall its matters are returned to Allah and to the Imam

[15:03]or the Khalifa after rasulullah and a lot of people believe are

[15:15]meant to solve the poverty issue within the Muslim Community and that

[15:22]is not the case zakat or sadakat are meant to help those

[15:42]goes to that specific individual now what about the impoverished who can

[15:47]work the impoverished who can work they don't take from the zakat

[15:54]but the Islamic treasury within the Islamic treasury there is homes there's

[17:16]in the Battle of Ahad neither in the Battle of for example

[17:20]honain but the greatest of anfal took place in the seventh year

[17:29]after the Hijra when after and the seventh year after the rasulullah

[17:39]returned he went towards the Jews that settled 150 kilometers away from

[17:49]Medina they resided in seven different Castles the greatest of them was

[17:59]Allah marched towards them and as he marched with the Muslims there

[18:09]were about a thousand thousand plus foreign historians say he gave daraya

[22:18]tomorrow I shall give the standard to a man who loves Allah

[22:26]foreign the companions unanimously say the next day we were awaiting that

[22:41]rasulullah may choose us and give us the standard in the morning

[22:50]rasulullah says call Ali bring him they said Allah Ali has pain

[22:55]in his eyes and he cannot even open his eyes he can't

[23:00]even see in front of him he says call him bring him

[23:03]they held him by the hand they brought him to rasulullah Allah

[23:09]held his eyes by a miracle gave cure to the eyes of

[23:17]Ali Ibraham Ali opened his eyes rasulullah says yeah Ali take the

[23:25]standard he took the standard then he says Adam no the flag

[23:39]the standard is being given to me given from me to you

[23:46]and I am the best of the children of Adam and you

[23:51]are the master of all Arabs yeah Ali rasulullah continues to sell

[24:00]to tell before he engages ya Ali foreign that you shall receive

[24:24]victory for Allah has with you and stands to your right yeah

[24:31]Ali go um to begin the siege of khaibar to seize the

[24:44]castle and the first person who came out was al-harath was the

[24:52]brother of marhab and they say he was an extremely Brave man

[24:58]when he came and he called out to the Muslims to fight

[25:03]they say they all backed out they all move themselves we don't

[25:09]want to fight this guy went to him and he fought him

[25:14]and within a short time spam was dead when harath was dead

[25:24]marhab who they say would take on brigades after brigades of individuals

[25:37]within battles came out holding two swords and two Spears and they

[25:45]say he was extremely big he came out and he saw he

[25:49]looked at he says to him who are you says to him

[25:58]why do you care about my name and who I am he

[26:03]says to him I want to see which one of Muhammad's soldiers

[26:10]has the audacity to stand alone in front of marhab do you

[26:19]know who I am I am marhab he says to him says

[26:36]am the lion they began the battle they say the first strike

[26:43]came from then fell marhab came down from the horse they began

[26:53]to fight again until and he saw that is full of iron

[27:03]there isn't really a place were to strike him with marhab would

[27:07]fall besides his feet struck his feet sat on his chest the

[27:17]Muslims began Allahu Akbar Allah and he walked away from marhab he

[27:28]took some time then he sat on the chest of marhab and

[27:32]he finished him when he returned what delayed you from killing marhab

[27:44]he says when I sat on his chest and I wanted to

[27:52]finish him he Spats in my face and I was angry I

[27:56]was afraid if I were to kill him I would kill him

[27:59]out of anger not for the sake of God I got up

[28:06]I calmed down and I did it purely for the sake of

[28:08]Allah this was the story I don't want to talk about the

[28:19]story of the and kafiha foreign I did not bring victory for

[28:42]my own manly strength human strength but it was Allah who gave

[28:48]me the strength on that day After High bar immediately march on

[28:58]to the last Castle which was named FedEx rasulullah immediately after khabar

[29:08]marched towards fadek when they reached fadek they saw that fadek is

[29:14]empty there is just one guy that holds the keys to fadek

[29:17]rasulullah when he got there the custodian of the village the custodian

[29:25]of fadak came and he gave the keys to rasulullah he says

[29:29]I'm not looking for war here's the keys this battle this Siege

[29:37]of FedEx became without came into the hands of rasulullah and the

[29:43]Muslims without any Bloodshed without any War without any endeavor so it

[29:48]was the extra it was part of the anfal Allah immediately then

[29:55]tells rasulullah gave give honor to Khadijah with give honor to Khadijah

[30:05]with FedEx says dead he says give FedEx to the inheritor of

[30:20]Khadijah who's the inheritor of Khadijah rasulullah returned and he gave the

[30:27]keys of FedEx this is which year seventh year after the Hijra

[30:34]So within the life of rasulullah for three years FedEx was under

[30:42]the control of and the custodian of fadek the one who would

[30:50]manage this property was how so they say Ali would go once

[30:59]a month to fadek and it was a big Village and it

[31:01]had farms and it had cattle and it had great Revenue he

[31:06]would go and he would take the money from fadek and the

[31:11]Muslim Community the impoverished they would know when Ali is returning to

[31:16]FedEx so they would like line up first the poor then the

[31:24]orphans then the masaki and The Travelers who did not have a

[31:28]place to stay than those who wanted loans than those wanted to

[31:31]get married than those who wanted to change cattle than those who

[31:34]wanted to change their homes by the time Ali reached home he

[31:40]wouldn't have anything with him and I recall a beautiful story says

[31:50]go and look for Ali in the Masjid and tell him to

[31:56]return home so Salman says why is Ali in this time of

[32:02]the day not at home why is he in the Masjid he

[32:04]says because he's gone to FedEx he's supposed to come home with

[32:10]some money but like every month he's given all that money to

[32:14]those who have asked him and now he is ashamed to come

[32:18]home without any money so he goes to the Masjid o Salah

[32:27]he takes patience with the Salah Masjid tell him that your family

[32:35]is waiting for you at home this was and this was how

[32:44]the anfal were being managed by his daughter and we all know

[32:54]the famous story after that departure of rasulullah when FedEx was taken

[33:01]away from Fatima I recall a beautiful statement by one of our

[33:09]Sunni Brothers he says you know what yes I follow the school

[33:20]of the sahaba however I imagine myself in that day came into

[33:28]the Masjid and she gave her famous sermon asking for FedEx back

[33:33]I as a Muslim imagine myself there and imagine in that moment

[33:39]I walk in on one side Muhammad and on the other side

[33:48]it is Abu Bakr far from a claims something belongs to her

[33:51]which side do you think I'm gonna take the daughter of Muhammad

[34:04]oh my God and that is why um when he became the

[34:14]Khalifa he returned FedEx to the children of Fatima he says this

[34:20]was part of the anfal given to Fatima even if we were

[34:25]not to accept it as the unfal it belonged to the prophets

[34:28]the prophet died whose is an error Fatima tazara so it must

[34:34]belong to Fatman obviously after him FedEx was taken back by the

[34:42]Khalifa also gave FedEx back to the children of apuna how he

[34:50]gathered they say one thousand Scholars from different schools of thought and

[34:55]he told them look for once and for all decide FedEx belongs

[35:01]to whom so we resolve this issue all of them came out

[35:09]and said FedEx must belong why because according to the Quran fatuma

[35:15]does not lie according to the Quran itself Fatima does not lie

[35:21]read Allah and she claimed FedEx belongs to her another scholar came

[35:32]out and said if it was not and file that belonged to

[35:38]Fatima it is the Earth the inheritors The Inheritance foreign chapter 8

[36:18]after The Spoils of War and the very first Ayah Within chapter

[36:30]8 says yes tell them it belongs to Allah and to rasulullah

[36:39]but on the day in which I want to ask for for

[36:59]Allah says prophets they don't live in inheritance behind so she used

[37:13]the Quran to respond Suleiman Sulaiman Solomon was a prophet and David

[37:33]my hand and belongs to me and I have witnesses I have

[37:39]witnesses that it belongs to me amongst the witnesses was om amen

[37:50]her as one of the witnesses then she says my Witnesses the

[37:57]masters of Youth of paradise they are too young we cannot take

[38:04]them as Witnesses she says my witness is my husband Ali he

[38:10]says obviously we cannot take the witness of because he is biased

[38:16]towards his wife let us come to chapter 8 and examine one

[38:25]of its most beautiful verses chapter 8 verse number two where Allah

[38:32][Music] discusses three main qualities within the meaning I ask Allah to

[38:42]give us the honor and the privilege to me amongst them after

[38:48]your loud Muhammad Bismillah the moments are once Allah has remembered their

[39:12]hearts are touched from imana and once they see the ayat the

[39:22]signs of Allah it increases in their Iman and their piety and

[39:28]their belief and third is that they have tawakul unto Allah subhanahu

[39:39]wa ta'ala let us examine this Ayah after your loud Muhammad I

[39:51]ask you brothers and sisters to try and move forward as much

[39:57]as you can so that we can make room for those who

[40:01]are coming and now move forward move forward as much as you

[41:53]visit someone who's ill the Hadith says that in the day of

[42:05]say Allah we did visit you we came to Mecca he says

[42:07]no then they say well where would he where would we have

[42:13]visited you or Allah you're everywhere he says you should have visited

[42:19]me when you visited when you would visit an L individual because

[42:27]when you visit an ill individual and you bring joy to his

[42:34]heart it's as if you have visited me when we pay a

[42:41]visit to someone who is poor he doesn't expect me or you

[42:44]to go to his home because maybe he doesn't have the capability

[42:49]to serve guests or sometimes poor people they don't expect people to

[42:57]even ask of them or about them because they don't enjoy that

[43:04]status in society so when we go to them it is when

[43:11]Allah is being remembered and the Heart Is touched when we go

[43:13]to someone who is ill in a hospital suffering from disease illness

[43:19]and we see him or her and we remember our health it

[43:24]is what Allah has remembered and the Heart Is touched it is

[43:30]when we visit an orphan that has lost his parents that misses

[43:37]the love of the father or the ma or the mother in

[43:43]his life and our heart is touched and Allah is being remembered

[43:48]we thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for the family that we have

[43:52]but is it enough that we only remember Allah says no yes

[44:03]their hearts are touched they're saddened they're in a state of him

[44:13]but once they see the signs of Allah their faith increases meaning

[44:21]when he sees their team he helps him when he sees the

[44:29]L he helps him when he sees the impoverished he helps him

[44:34]when he sees those in need of Education he extends he extends

[44:40]a hand of assistance what do I mean I mean that's many

[44:46]of us we take vacations to Europe to France so for example

[44:57]Switzerland to Hawaii Bahamas You Name It We like to go to

[45:02]those places and there's nothing wrong with that but have we thought

[45:08]of taking a vacation to India to Africa to Iraq specifically for

[45:15]the sake of Allah where we go and we see those one

[45:21]million people who never have a home they're born on the streets

[45:25]of India and they die on the streets of India they live

[45:28]on the sidewalk they don't have a home and they're never going

[45:31]to have a home or those people suffering from malnutrition lack of

[45:41]Clean Water lack of clothes inflicted by disease in Africa or do

[45:51]we travel to Iraq or Afghanistan where children sometimes have to walk

[45:55]by foot for an hour or two just to get to a

[46:00]school so that within that school they would teach them how to

[46:05]read and write when I go there and I see I've seen

[46:12]with my own eyes you go to areas less than one hour

[46:20]away from the Haram of Hussain one hour away less than one

[46:28]hour away from the shrine of Imam Hussain and you see children

[46:32]living in the slums I saw a sight that I'm going to

[46:37]tell you about I saw a child drinking from a water in

[46:43]which dogs loose dogs were drinking from urinating in that's the only

[46:51]water they had the child is thirsty he wants to drink it's

[46:56]not a house it's couple of bricks on top of another so

[47:01]that they can just have a little bit of privacy it doesn't

[47:05]have a roof doesn't have bathroom doesn't have gas it doesn't have

[47:11]electricity you knock at that door and you see seven eight orphans

[47:17]two mothers two widows they've lost their husbands you see seven eight

[47:23]widows no shoes no clothes no food they tell you please don't

[47:29]leave don't leave we just want you to give us bread bread

[47:34]that's all we ask bread so I can give my children it's

[47:47]not only that I read the Quran and my heart is touched

[47:52]when I see those individuals when I see human beings suffering in

[47:57]this manner the heart is touched and Allah should be remembered when

[48:04]I see people who are ill children who are suffering from an

[48:11]illness and they need a surgery that can be done for example

[48:14]in a neighboring country of Afghanistan or Iraq cost five thousand dollars

[48:21]ten thousand dollars and the child never gets to make the surgery

[48:27]he or she dies I saw a young girl who lost her

[48:35]eyes because of a simple surgery that she could have done cost

[48:38]two thousand dollars nobody helped her she lost both her eyes became

[48:44]blind foreign Allah has remembered there I see someone who is ill

[48:59]and I remember Allah well this person you know once the hospital

[49:01]he's they're paying for him insurance is paying for him his country

[49:04]is paying for him he doesn't need my money look at that

[49:09]illness and know that there are thousands and thousands of people with

[49:13]the same illness that never make it to the hospital because they

[49:20]don't have the means to make it to a hospital how about

[49:24]helping sponsor those individuals helping building a hospital then when they are

[49:38]reminded to give to depart from their wealth and they see those

[49:45]signs that that's whom imana their Iman is strengthened and then the

[49:52]Ayah says and they are the ones who all their tawakul is

[50:01]upon Allah meaning they put the matters in the hands of the

[50:07]almighty Allah now what does tawakul mean the scholars have given two

[50:10]opinions and I know the issue of tawakul is very important for

[50:13]all the Muslim Community and a lot of people ask Syed what

[50:18]does tawakul mean when Allah in the Quran says Allah loves those

[50:23]who do tawakul this Ayah speaks of so what is tawakul is

[50:34]is according to some Scholars meaning that I believe I firmly accept

[50:59]the guarantees of Allah and I do not depend on anything besides

[51:05]him what do I mean I mean Allah has guaranteed foreign he

[51:24]himself is the sustainer he himself is the one that heals he

[51:36]is the one that removes evil he is the one that answers

[51:42]the Dua foreign to have our faith in Allah to believe in

[51:51]him and not to plan our days and nights and my life

[51:54]and my future surrounding people they say when they took Yusuf as

[52:05]eleven brothers and they threw him in the well came to Joseph

[52:10]and he says to him Yusuf I see you smiling while you're

[52:16]smiling your brother just threw you on the well you should be

[52:19]crying he says no no no no no no no today I

[52:23]realized something that I didn't before they threw me in the will

[52:27]says what says as I was coming here I was saying to

[52:33]myself I have 11 Brothers and my father is yakub who is

[52:47]Allah yes sometimes our parents will be upset with us they won't

[53:09]speak to us our friends they say we gave you 10 times

[53:14]20 times we gave you a chance you failed you just can't

[53:16]do this you're never going to grow up what's Allah is always

[53:21]there he's always willing to listen he's always willing to help so

[53:28]we depend on him we do tawakul on to him and we

[53:36]don't plan our future with anything else besides him the other Scholars

[53:44]defining no you must work hard study work hard don't be lazy

[54:03]don't oh some people will tell you Allah is going to give

[54:10]me the razak is going to come so why should I go

[54:16]and work this is amongst the Sophie opinions and some of the

[54:21]sufis they came to they were in the time of they say

[54:24]several Brothers came to Imam Ali to give Imam Ali their zakat

[54:30]so he says to them what is your eldest brother where is

[54:36]he they said he's wearing the wall he spends all day fasting

[54:45]and praying all night she stands in ibada he says who's taking

[54:50]care of his children his family they said each one of us

[54:55]takes a portion of our income we give it to our brother

[54:57]he says Wallah I swear in Allah that you are more beloved
