[0:40]Allah [Music] fordbill.
[1:02][Music] [Music] [Music] Why?
[1:44][Music] Fench [Music] [Music] Abdah.
[2:27]Hussein.
[2:34]One of my dreams on the day of judgment is to ask
[2:43]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to show me every step I im Hussein
[2:50]took towards Kbala for Allah to show us this journey.
[2:57]every moment of difficulty, suffering and pain that our imam went through.
[3:05]We want to see every detail of this divine journey.
[3:10]Every word our imam spoke on his way to Kbala.
[3:15]This is one of my dreams on the day of judgment for
[3:18]Allah to show us our beloved imam because we love his journey.
[3:26]We have fallen in love with his legacy.
[3:31]To look at the legacy of our imam and the details of
[3:36]his journey that gives life to our souls.
[3:40]Yesterday we examined how Imam Hussein left from Medina and how he
[3:47]went to Mecca.
[3:49]Tonight we will examine how Imam Hussein left the city of Mecca
[3:57]some of the stations that he passed by on his way to
[4:03]Kbala.
[4:03]We want to live these moments.
[4:05]We want to experience this journey as best as we can.
[4:10]Many of us are familiar with the events that happened in Kbala.
[4:16]But what about before Kerbala?
[4:18]Little which stations did she pass by?
[4:22]The family of Imam Hussein.
[4:25]Where did they go before Kbala?
[4:30]What were they experiencing?
[4:31]What were they witnessing?
[4:33]The details of this journey are very dear to our hearts.
[4:40]Imam Hussein.
[4:42]Salam stayed in Mecca for four months and five days.
[4:47]He arrived on the 3rd of Shaan, the day of his birth.
[4:52]And he left on the 8th of one day before.
[4:56]You have four months and five days.
[5:01]On the seventh of one day before he leaves, I im Hussein
[5:06]makes an announcement.
[5:08]He makes a call.
[5:15]Whoever is willing to give us the blood of his heart that
[5:20]invitation was not restricted to people at that time.
[5:26]This is invitation is for all of us for you for me.
[5:28]Are you willing to give from the blood of your heart to
[5:33]Imam Hussein?
[5:38]Are you determined to meet the mercy of your lord?
[5:42]Then join me.
[5:43]Come with me.
[5:43]I'm leaving tomorrow morning.
[5:46]So the Imam Alisam made an announcement in Mecca that I will
[5:52]leave tomorrow.
[5:51]Imam Hussein had a half brother by the name of Muhammad Khan.
[5:59]After the martyrdom of Fat Zah, Im Ali married a noble lady
[6:06]by the name of Sey.
[6:09]She came from the tribe of Benihanifa.
[6:12]It was a place not too far from Mecca.
[6:16]The Imam Alisam married this lady and Allah gave him a son.
[6:23]He named him Muhammad.
[6:22]So Muhammad was attributed to his mother.
[6:26]Muhammad, the son of the Khani, meaning the lady who comes from
[6:30]the tribe of Bani Khanifh.
[6:32]He was younger than Imam Hussein.
[6:37]When he hears that Imm Hussein is going to leave tomorrow with
[6:41]a very heavy heart, he approaches the Imam, he tells him, "Imam,
[6:48]why are you going to Arab?
[6:49]Are you not aware of their betrayal and treachery?
[6:53]Don't you know that they betrayed your father Ali Abi?
[6:55]Didn't they betray your brother Al Hassan?" Abdah, why are you going
[7:03]to Iraq?
[7:04]I ask you not to go to Iraq.
[7:07]The Imam Alisam tells him I cannot stay here in Mecca because
[7:13]the Omeayads will spill my blood in the holy land by the
[7:15]Kaa.
[7:16]I have to leave.
[7:19]He tells him okay if you must leave then at least go
[7:24]to another place.
[7:22]Go to Yemen, go to a far away land.
[7:26]But why Iraq out of all places?
[7:31]The Immiam told him, "Okay, I will consider your suggestion." The next
[7:37]morning comes early in the morning.
[7:39]Muhammad Khafi realizes that Im Hussein is packing and he's on the
[7:46]go.
[7:45]He's about to leave.
[7:47]So he approaches him.
[7:49]He tells him, "My dear brother, did you not promise me that
[7:52]you would look into this matter?
[7:53]What happened?
[7:54]Why are you rushing to leave?" The Imisam told him, "Yes, tonight
[8:01]my grandfather." He came to my dream and he told me, "Oh,
[8:06]Hussein, martyrdom awaits you." Sha, it is the will of Allah for
[8:16]me to be martyed.
[8:16]My dear brother, this is the plan of God.
[8:20]I have to make the sacrifice.
[8:21]No one other than me can make the sacrifice.
[8:25]I have to go.
[8:27]When his brother Muhammad Hanafi gives up, he realizes the Immiam is
[8:34]adamant on going to Iraq.
[8:35]He tells him, "Okay, if you must go to make this sacrifice,
[8:40]why are you taking the women and children with you?
[8:43]This is a very dangerous journey.
[8:47]I don't understand why you're taking them." What was the response of
[8:53]Imam Hussein?
[8:52]Many of us have this question too.
[8:57]We wonder why did the Imam take Lady Zab, those women, those
[9:01]children when they saw so much suffering on this journey, why did
[9:05]he take them?
[9:06]The Imam Alisam took the women and children for three reasons.
[9:13]Number one, Imam Hussein.
[9:14]Did not want to put himself and his family in a position
[9:19]that Yazid could use as a card against Imam Hussein.
[9:24]If IM Hussein had left his family behind, you know what Yazid
[9:30]would have done?
[9:29]Him and his men and his governors, they would have taken them
[9:34]as hostages.
[9:35]And the Yazid would have told Hussein, "If you don't give me
[9:41]allegiance, we'll harass your family." Now, when the woman and children are
[9:46]suffering before your own eyes, you have to take action.
[9:50]You can't just watch them suffer and get harassed.
[9:52]So, I im Hussein could not put himself and his family in
[9:58]that position.
[9:59]As long as he was alive, as long as Al Abbas was
[10:01]alive, no one goes near those women and children.
[10:05]That's the first reason why Imam Hussein Alisam took the woman with
[10:10]him.
[10:11]Number two, the second reason I im Hussein Alisam wanted to demonstrate
[10:15]to the world his sincerity that he's not rising for personal interest.
[10:19]He's not rising for power.
[10:20]Because if you want power, you're not going to endanger your own
[10:23]family.
[10:23]You're not going to take them with you.
[10:26]I'm not going there because I want to be the Khalifa, because
[10:30]I want to rule.
[10:30]I'm not interested in any of that.
[10:32]I'm going there purely for Allah, purely for the sake of Islam.
[10:40]To make that statement vividly clear for everyone, the Imam had to
[10:43]take his family.
[10:44]People realized his sincerity.
[10:47]They realized he's sacrificing for Allah.
[10:50]He's doing that for Islam.
[10:54]The third reason why he took the woman and children, and this
[10:56]one is extremely important and probably the most important reason.
[11:00]Imam Hussein knew that in Kerbala the men would be massacred.
[11:06]Who would tell the world what happened in Kbalah?
[11:10]Who would live to expose Yazid and Iben Zad and those evil
[11:18]men?
[11:16]Who would be the mouthpiece of the revolution of Imam Hussein?
[11:22]Who would be the media for Imam Hussein, his family, those women
[11:27]and those children?
[11:31]They exposed the hypocrisy of those um just like today.
[11:34]Subhan Allah.
[11:35]You see those women and children in Gaza exposing the hypocrisy of
[11:40]so many politicians who claim to care about human rights.
[11:44]Those women exposed Yazid.
[11:46]They exposed Iban Zad.
[11:50]Lady Zanab through her powerful voice.
[11:56]She shook the foundations of the Omayad dynasty.
[11:58]So, Imam Hussein Alisam needed that media to save the truth to
[12:05]stand up to those evil oppressors after him.
[12:08]That could only be achieved through these women and children.
[12:11]And that's why every one of us here were indebted to those
[12:14]women and children.
[12:16]Without them, we would not know Kbala as we know it today.
[12:19]Without them and their efforts and their sacrifices, we would not know
[12:22]Islam as we know it today.
[12:25]So, Imm Hussein Alisam tells Muhammad Khan, it's the will of Allah
[12:34]that they have to go through this trial.
[12:36]They will be taken as prisoners of war.
[12:38]This is the plan.
[12:40]This is how God will awaken this um and save the religion
[12:43]of Islam.
[12:44]So Muhammad he tries to convince Imam Hussein not to go but
[12:51]this path has been written by Allah subhana wa ta'ala decades before
[12:59]and the prophet sallallahu alaihi foretold about this tragedy.
[13:04]This is a sacrifice that Imam Hussein wanted to make for the
[13:11]sake of Allah.
[13:10]So now I im Hussein is determined.
[13:14]He has his caravan ready.
[13:18]They're about to leave the city of Mecca.
[13:20]He leaves early in the morning.
[13:22]Now did Imam Hussein leave secretly or he left in a public
[13:27]fashion?
[13:27]Some historians have claimed that Imam Hussein left secretly.
[13:31]However, based on my research, I find that objectionable because if you
[13:38]look at the circumstances of him leaving Mecca, it was very clear
[13:41]that he had already announced it just the day before on the
[13:47]7th of he made an announcement in Mecca.
[13:50]Tomorrow I'm leaving.
[13:50]If you want to join me, then come.
[13:54]So, my understanding is that it was not a secret departure from
[14:00]Mecca.
[14:01]Imm Hussein Alisam had made it very clear that he is going
[14:04]to leave.
[14:05]Now there's an interesting legal question here that concerns the departure of
[14:11]Imam Hussein from Mecca.
[14:13]For those of you who have gone to the Hajj, I know
[14:16]some of you this year, alhamdulillah, Allah blessed you and you went
[14:20]to the Hajj.
[14:21]Those of us who don't live in Mecca, what type of Hajj
[14:26]do we have to offer your waj Hajj?
[14:29]What type of Hajj?
[14:31]What is it called?
[14:32]That's the type of Hajj.
[14:35]Yes, it's Islam.
[14:35]That's the Hajj.
[14:38]But we have three types of Hajj.
[14:40]We have means you combine a Omra with the Hajj and the
[14:48]Omrah comes before the Hajj.
[14:51]So when you enter the state of Mecca in your the Hajj
[14:55]has not officially started.
[14:55]You're doing but it's called now when you do you have to
[15:03]stay in Mecca until you go to then you're done with your
[15:06]done with your pilgrimage.
[15:08]You're not supposed to leave Mecca until the Hajj finishes.
[15:12]Now Imam Hussein leaves one day before Hajj.
[15:17]So from a legal Islamic perspective, how was that possible?
[15:22]There are two solutions to that for someone who's leaving Mecca.
[15:26]Number one, it's very possible that Imam Hussein when he came to
[15:33]Mecca and he entered Mecca in the state of he did not
[15:38]make the intention for the Hajj.
[15:40]He just made the intention for Omrah.
[15:41]Remember the Imam arrived in which month?
[15:44]In Shaan the third of Shaan.
[15:48]Many of you have gone for the Omra in Shaan.
[15:49]So it's possible that the Imam made the intention of just a
[15:54]Omrah, not a Hajj.
[15:56]That's one solution.
[15:58]The second solution is you're allowed to switch your Omrah from to
[16:03]so let's say you go to Mecca and you're anticipating the Hajj
[16:07]an emergency happens.
[16:08]You have to leave Mecca.
[16:12]What you can do is switch your to what?
[16:16]you just do an extra and then you leave.
[16:21]So from a legal perspective, it's possible for someone to leave right
[16:26]before.
[16:27]So I im Hussein leaves on the 8th of the as he
[16:33]was about to leave the city of Mecca, the Omeayads took notice.
[16:38]They were shocked.
[16:41]They had a plan to secretly assassinate him.
[16:45]Now, by suddenly leaving Mecca, the Imam foiled their plot.
[16:50]He caught them off guard.
[16:51]They didn't know what to do.
[16:57]One of their tactics was to entice him to stay in Mecca,
[17:00]to try to deceive him.
[17:00]So, the governor of Mecca, he was known as Alshakb, his title
[17:11]was Alshak.
[17:12]He's like, "Let me try to negotiate with him." So he sent
[17:14]him a letter with one of his messengers.
[17:18]In the letter he addresses Imam Hussein.
[17:22]He tells him, "I advise you not to go to Iraq and
[17:27]please don't cause fitna and disunityity, discord here.
[17:32]Don't leave.
[17:34]Stay in Mecca and I will give you amnesty.
[17:38]I will give you protection." Now, he tried to act as if
[17:44]he was a friend to Imam Hussein.
[17:46]He's trying to give him amnesty.
[17:48]But if you analyze the text of the letter, in reality, he
[17:53]was threatening the Imam.
[17:54]He was accusing the Imam of causing discord in the ummah.
[18:00]What a shame on him to say that to Imam Hussein, to
[18:05]the master of the youth of paradise.
[18:07]Yazid is the one who's creating a fitna by fighting the Imam
[18:10]of his time by fighting the grandson of Sah.
[18:14]You accuse Im Hussein Alisam of discord.
[18:17]You know one thing that really shocks me is unfortunately there are
[18:24]some scholars from other schools of thought.
[18:27]They are critical of Imam Hussein's departure from Mecca to Kbala.
[18:30]I don't need to mention some names here.
[18:34]Some very prominent figures here in the US when they talk about
[18:38]the history of Imam Hussein, they give you the impression that maybe
[18:41]he made a mistake.
[18:44]He should not have left because this whole thing caused disunityity in
[18:48]the Muslim um one thing that I have trouble understanding.
[18:53]How do you believe in saying Hussein is the master of the
[18:59]youth of paradise and you accuse him of making a mistake?
[19:05]Habibi, good luck trying to get into that heaven when I imam
[19:10]Hussein is the master of it on the day of judgment and
[19:12]you accuse him of making a mistake.
[19:16]Good luck.
[19:16]But that was the attitude of some of those people.
[19:20]Don't leave Mecca.
[19:22]You're making a mistake.
[19:23]You're causing disunityity and I will give you amnesty.
[19:28]Stay here.
[19:27]This was a bait for Imam Hussein.
[19:31]Imam Hussein Alisam quickly responds to him.
[19:32]He writes a letter to him.
[19:35]He tells him, "The one who's on the path of righteousness, on
[19:37]the path of Allah subhana ta is not causing any disunityity or
[19:42]discord.
[19:43]I'm not going against Allah or the prophet." In other words, don't
[19:48]accuse me of causing disunityity.
[19:49]You evil governor supporting Yazid, you're causing a fat in the Muslim
[19:56]um and then the Imam Alisam states, I don't want your Aman.
[20:00]I don't want your amnesty.
[20:01]I only want the Aman and the amnesty of Allah subhanahu wa
[20:08]ta'ala.
[20:10][Music] to he says what we ask is to fear Allah subhana
[20:19]t in this so on the day of judgment he gives us
[20:23]amnesty he gives us protection I don't need your protection I'm okay
[20:28]with Allah's per protection I only want the amnesty of Allah my
[20:33]dear brothers and sisters many time in this world when temptation is
[20:39]deceiving you bad friends are enticing you.
[20:43]Sometimes we feel like we can get protection from this sinful lifestyle.
[20:48]Your friends are inviting you to a haram party, singing and music
[20:54]and drinking and gambling.
[20:54]Unfortunately, that exists in some parts of the community.
[20:59]We ask Allah to guide them and to guide us all.
[21:01]But there are people who struggle with these addictions.
[21:04]We ask Allah through the baraka of Im Hussein Alisam to guide
[21:07]them and purify them.
[21:10]And I've seen in situations where one of the friends, he's hesitant.
[21:13]He doesn't want to go.
[21:14]They tell him, "It's okay.
[21:17]Come.
[21:17]We've got your back.
[21:18]Nothing will happen.
[21:18]We've got you covered." Never find protection in sin, my dear brothers
[21:25]and sisters.
[21:25]You could have a business partner who's enticing you to cheat, to
[21:31]commit fraud, and he'll tell you, "I've got it all covered.
[21:33]Don't worry, we'll get away with it." Never trust anything that's sinful
[21:39]and that violates the laws of Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[21:44]This is the response of Imam Hussein.
[21:47]He tells him, I don't want your amnesty.
[21:49]Your amnesty is a corrupt amnesty.
[21:53]I only want the protection of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[21:57]And that's how a woman speaks to himself.
[21:59]Always remind yourself of what will give you protection on the day
[22:06]of judgment.
[22:04]This dunya has no value.
[22:07]Allah will take care of you here.
[22:09]But really, what's important is on the day of judgment.
[22:10]Some of us, we go to great lengths through our money and
[22:16]power and influence trying to protect us and protect our families from
[22:21]trouble, from legal problems.
[22:22]You think you're strong and invincible.
[22:24]That means nothing.
[22:27]On the day of judgment, are you safe?
[22:29]Do you have amnesty on the day of judgment for you and
[22:32]your children and your family?
[22:33]That's the real amnesty.
[22:35]And hence we find imbal at night in the darkness of the
[22:44]night.
[22:42]What would he say in his beautiful and words to Allah subhanahu
[22:48]wa ta'ala?
[22:49]He would ask for that amnesty.
[22:51]He would ask for that protection.
[22:53]Allah, oh Allah, I ask you for safety and protection.
[22:59]Ask for safety and protection.
[23:01]Ask Allah to save you from sins, from immorality.
[23:06]Ask Allah to give you that peace and comfort on the day
[23:11]of judgment.
[23:13]Allah will answer your prayer.
[23:16][Music] These are the words of your ims.
[23:23]Wallah, they awaken your heart and conscience.
[23:24]He says, "Oh Allah, I ask you for a man and safety."
[23:27]Why?
[23:28]For which day?
[23:34][Music] Oh Allah, I ask you for safety on that day.
[23:51]Nothing can help me.
[23:55]your bank account, your money, access to resources that you had here
[24:01]in this duny, the size of your family, none of that will
[24:04]save you on the day of judgment.
[24:05]So what will save you except if you go to Allah with
[24:16]a pure heart, sincere heart and the majus of Abdah Hussein purifies
[24:20]this heart.
[24:21]My dear brothers and sisters, thank Allah for the gift of Imam
[24:26]Hussein.
[24:25]So the Imam tells the governor, I don't want your amnesty.
[24:30]I want the amnesty and protection of Allah subhanana wa ta'ala and
[24:34]see how Allah protected the message of Imam Hussein.
[24:38]Isn't it a miracle 14 centuries later, we sit here, we gather
[24:42]despite all the activities that you have in your life?
[24:45]You could be doing so many things on a Sunday afternoon, Sunday
[24:48]evening, but you're interested in every detail of the message of Imam
[24:53]Hussein.
[24:54]Didn't Allah preserve it?
[24:55]Didn't Allah give Imam Hussein protection?
[24:58]Allah will preserve your legacy long after you're gone.
[25:03]So the Imam refuses to stay in Mecca.
[25:06]When the governor realizes when Alshak realizes Im Hussein is not budging,
[25:14]he sends an army to chase him.
[25:16]He tells them, "Go and try to ambush him." But when they
[25:18]get there, they seem I im Hussein.
[25:19]Abd Abbas, the men are wellarmed.
[25:22]So they feared this will get out of hand.
[25:25]They left him alone.
[25:27]They're like, "That's it.
[25:27]He's left Mecca.
[25:29]There isn't anything that we can do." So, I im Hussein safely
[25:35]manages to leave Mecca on the 8th of and that really is
[25:41]when the journey begins right before Kbal.
[25:44]The journey from Mecca to Kbala took 23 days.
[25:50]The Imam passed through 38 villages to get to Karbala.
[25:57]And the distance that his caravan covered was about 900 miles.
[26:01]And this is the journey that we want to see and experience.
[26:06]We want to live these steps with Imam Hussein.
[26:11]We want to live these steps with Zanab.
[26:13]So I will share with you today four stations in which Imam
[26:20]Hussein stopped at.
[26:20]Tomorrow we'll examine other stations before he arrived the land of Kbar.
[26:27]When Imam Hussein Alisam left Mecca, the first place village that he
[26:35]stopped at was a place called Ban Beni, the gardens of Ben.
[26:41]This is not far from Mecca.
[26:44]It's around the Haram area.
[26:46]That's where the Imam stopped on his way going north east to
[26:49]Iraq.
[26:52]A very important event happened right there that served as an indication
[27:00]that danger was awaiting for Imam Hussein in Iraq.
[27:02]When Imam Hussein was in Bustan B, he met a very famous
[27:09]poet by the name of Al Farazak.
[27:11]Al Farazak, he narrates that encounter.
[27:14]He says year 60 of the hijra in the I was with
[27:20]my mother going to Hajj.
[27:22]I was guiding her camel helping her to make her Hajj.
[27:25]And what an honor it is for you to be able to
[27:30]serve your parents to serve your mother to take her on this
[27:32]long journey to Hajj.
[27:35]says, "When I arrived close to Mecca, I realized there was an
[27:42]there was an a caravan over there, an armed caravan, so I
[27:46]asked the people there, what is this caravan?" They told me, "This
[27:52]is the caravan of Al Hussein Ali." He says, "I was shocked.
[27:55]Everyone's trying to get in last minute to Mecca to make the
[27:59]Hajj and he is leaving." He says, "I went, I approached him.
[28:05]I greeted him.
[28:04]I told him Abdah why are you leaving?
[28:07]He said I must leave.
[28:10]If I stay here they are going to assassinate me.
[28:15]This is a journey that I have to make.
[28:16]Then I im Hussein asks this poet Al Farazak.
[28:20]He tells him you just came from Iraq right?
[28:23]He said yes.
[28:25]He told him can you describe to me the state of people
[28:28]in Iraq?
[28:29]How did you leave them?
[28:32]In what state?
[28:33]Alaz told the imam, "Do you want me to be honest and
[28:36]tell you the truth?" He said, "Yes, please tell me the truth.
[28:39]What did you see?" He told him, "Hussein, this is the sad
[28:52]reality.
[28:51]Their hearts are with you.
[28:55]People love you.
[28:54]They know who you are.
[28:56]But their swords are against you.
[28:59]They have turned against you.
[29:02]They're not willing to fight for you.
[29:03]They're willing to fight you even though their hearts are with you
[29:08]and they know what you stand for.
[29:09]The Imam Alisam told him, "You have said the truth indeed that
[29:16]accurately describes their state." This is a very profound statement, my dear
[29:20]brothers and sisters, that accurately describes people in all eras, not just
[29:25]the era of Imam Hussein.
[29:29]Many times, deep down in our hearts, we love the truth.
[29:31]We'd like to support the truth, but when it comes to our
[29:36]actions, what do you see?
[29:38]Just like the people of Kufa and the people of Iraq, their
[29:42]hearts were with Hussein and their swords were ready against Hussein.
[29:46]The Imam of our time, Ali, are our hearts with him, but
[29:56]our swords against him.
[29:57]Sometimes that is the case.
[30:01]My heart is with the im.
[30:01]I pray for the im.
[30:07]But I draw my sword every single day against the Imam through
[30:12]my toxic behavior by being toxic with my family members.
[30:16]That's a sword against your imam.
[30:19]by ruining the reputation of other people, by cheating and committing fraud.
[30:25]That's a sword against the Imam of your time.
[30:31]This description that Farah gave to Imam Hussein is one that applies
[30:37]in many eras.
[30:38]Just to have a feeling of supporting the truth is not enough.
[30:44]My dear brothers and sisters, feelings are not enough.
[30:46]You can have any feeling in your heart.
[30:49]It's the action that counts.
[30:51]That's how you demonstrate your iman through your deeds, through your words,
[30:55]through your action, through your behavior.
[30:59]Islam is not a religion of feelings.
[31:04]You know these days when you look at how society has evolved
[31:08]and how society interacts with religion, religion in so many parts of
[31:14]the world has become a feeling.
[31:16]When you ask people why are you practicing this particular faith?
[31:21]It could be any religion.
[31:22]One common response that you get is the following.
[31:24]They'll tell you it feels right.
[31:27]Haven't you heard that?
[31:29]My dear brothers and sisters, we're not Muslims and followers of B
[31:34]because it feels right.
[31:35]You know why?
[31:37]Feelings are extremely deceptive.
[31:42]And one of the greatest windows that you can give shan to
[31:45]mess with you, mess with your faith, and mess with your spirituality
[31:49]is to make decisions based on feelings.
[31:54]We're not Muslims because it feels right to be a Muslim.
[31:58]The one who worships the idol, he'll tell you the same thing.
[32:01]He'll tell you it feels right to worship the idol.
[32:05]We don't worship feelings.
[32:08]You're a Muslim because you've intellectually rationalized faith and you know you
[32:14]have a creator.
[32:16]You know he's just.
[32:16]You know he's not left you to fend for yourself.
[32:19]He's sent prophets to you.
[32:20]He's given you a miraculous book.
[32:22]It's an intellectual process.
[32:26]Yes, sometimes Allah will bless you with a feeling that supports you.
[32:32]Feelings are energy.
[32:32]But without the compass, where are you going to go?
[32:35]Somebody can give you a car.
[32:40]It's, you know, the tank is full, but you don't know where
[32:42]you're going.
[32:44]How's that going to help you?
[32:46]Feelings don't dictate your direction.
[32:48]Sometimes I talk to some people and they've made wrong decisions or
[32:53]they're making up their own rules and I tell them why.
[32:55]They tell me, "Say it.
[32:58]It feels right." Feels right.
[32:59]Where's that feeling coming from?
[33:01]What if others have a different feeling?
[33:03]Is that now the standard of the truth?
[33:05]Whether this feels right or doesn't feel right.
[33:09]And sometimes Allah will test you through feelings.
[33:13]Never make important decisions, my dear brothers and sisters, based purely on
[33:19]a feeling.
[33:18]Where's the where's the intellect?
[33:21]You have to be able to rationalize it, justify it intellectually.
[33:28]Otherwise, feelings are not going to take you anywhere.
[33:31]Al Farasak told Im Hussein Alam that the feelings of the people
[33:34]were good.
[33:35]They were positive.
[33:35]They were waiting for you.
[33:38]They love you.
[33:37]But their swords are against you.
[33:39]What did they achieve?
[33:41]They got cursed until the day of judgment for betraying Imam Hussein.
[33:45]Salam by taking out their swords against the Imam of their time.
[33:49]So Imam Hussein here officially receives news from Iraq that the people
[33:58]are betraying him.
[33:57]And then the Imam Alisam here makes his famous statement.
[34:03]The Imam describes people in this world and he describes the reality
[34:09]of this world.
[34:08]The imam after the statement of alaz he says the following people
[34:18]are slaves of this world.
[34:22]The reality is my dear brothers and sisters in this dunya in
[34:28]this life everyone everyone is enslaved to something.
[34:31]There's no escape from that.
[34:33]Either you're enslaved to this dunya and materialism or you're enslaved to
[34:40]your desires or you're enslaved to the path of Allah subhana wa
[34:44]ta'ala.
[34:45]Choose.
[34:43]There's no escape.
[34:46]Now if you have to be a slave of something, if you
[34:49]have to depend on something, which one would you rather choose?
[34:52]Allah, the infinite source of goodness, the infinite source of treasures, the
[34:58]infinite source of mercy, or this dunya?
[35:02]Today we live in a society that is extremely materialistic.
[35:05]And many of us, many of our families were enslaved to that.
[35:09]We're obsessed with materialism.
[35:11]We're obsessed with fashion.
[35:16]We're obsessed with brandame clothes and accessories and products.
[35:20]Now, alhamdulillah, if Allah has given you wealth, spend it in the
[35:24]halal way.
[35:23]That's fine.
[35:24]That's your right.
[35:26]But when it becomes an obsession, that becomes very dangerous.
[35:29]I remember years ago, one of my children, one of my daughters
[35:33]in one school, she came to me.
[35:37]She was young.
[35:37]You know, you're they're growing, they're experiencing life.
[35:41]And she asked me to buy her a pair of $200 shoes.
[35:47]So, I told her, "Why do you need th that particular pair
[35:50]of shoes?
[35:51]If you need it, I'll buy it for you, but just can
[35:55]you convince me like why you need that?" She told me, "Baba,
[35:59]all the kids in my class, the kids here in this community,
[36:02]they're buying four, five, $600 shoes." And so, I thought of getting
[36:09]that pair of shoes.
[36:08]I thought to myself, what are these parents doing to their children?
[36:13]Your six, seven, eight year old children.
[36:18]3 hours in class, they're discussing their shoes.
[36:21]Which one's more expensive?
[36:22]Which one's fancier?
[36:24]My dear brothers and sisters, we're perpetuating this culture.
[36:27]And parents think they're good parents.
[36:29]Yeah.
[36:30]Yeah.
[36:30]Habib, I'll give you whatever you want.
[36:32]That's not necessarily good parenting to fuel the materialism in the hearts
[36:39]and minds of your children.
[36:42]Just because you have the money doesn't mean that you allow your
[36:45]family to become materialistic because you and your children, you've enslaved yourself
[36:51]now to all of that.
[36:52]A young man once came to me.
[36:55]He told me, "Say, if I don't wear brandame clothes that are
[37:00]worth thousands of dollars, I don't feel good about myself.
[37:03]I I appreciate his honesty.
[37:06]I told him, see, that's why we need the advice of Im
[37:12]Hussein.
[37:14]And have you realized what's happening to you?
[37:18]You are effectively, essentially enslaved to a piece of cloth because you
[37:24]need it to feel good about yourself.
[37:26]You need it to feel dignified.
[37:30]You've tied your dignity and human value to a piece of cloth
[37:35]that's most likely made in China.
[37:39]It's not worth more than $20, but because Louis Vuitton stamped it,
[37:42]now it's worth $600.
[37:43]You've enslaved yourself.
[37:46]It's okay.
[37:48]You can wear brandame clothes, my dear brothers and sisters.
[37:50]That's your right.
[37:53]But don't be enslaved to it.
[37:53]If you find yourself one day you don't feel good if you
[37:58]don't wear that that means you're enslaved to materialism.
[38:03]And therefore I im Hussein made his powerful statement to him.
[38:14]Religion is something that only exists on their tongue.
[38:19]Lip service that's it.
[38:24]when their livelihood is going well they'll act religious but when Allahh
[38:33]puts them to the trial the people of faith you'll see them
[38:39]very few these are truly eternal words from Abdah Hussein sometimes we
[38:46]have to ask ourselves am I religious because it's convenient for me
[38:49]to be religious Allah Allah will try you.
[38:55]Sometimes your friends will mock you for praying.
[38:56]That's when you demonstrate whether you really value salah or not.
[39:02]Your friends will mock you for your hijab, for avoiding to publicly
[39:06]display your fashion and makeup.
[39:08]You will get mocked.
[39:08]You'll hear negative comments not necessarily from outsiders and non-Muslims.
[39:14]No, from fellow Muslims.
[39:17]They'll be the first to mock you when you try to uphold
[39:20]the path of Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
[39:24]But that's your test here.
[39:24]When it's not popular to be religious, when you're swimming against the
[39:28]wave, that's when you demonstrate whether you truly value your faith or
[39:35]not.
[39:33]But the imam says very few people will hold on to their
[39:41]faith when their livelihood is at risk.
[39:44]If I'm into haram income and business, my dear brothers and sisters,
[39:48]am I willing to give that up for the sake of Allah,
[39:50]for the sake of Imam Hussein, it's very difficult.
[39:54]Especially there are some people they're into the haram business for years
[39:58]and years and years.
[39:59]They've built a whole empire, business, legacy.
[40:03]They can't give it up that easily.
[40:07]But that's your trial.
[40:07]For the sake of Allah, can you give it up?
[40:10]Because that's how people failed their test on the day of im
[40:18]Hussein explains why he said these people fed themselves and their families
[40:25]with haram.
[40:27]Respected parents in the community, if our businesses are questionable, realize you're
[40:33]feeding your children something that is questionable.
[40:36]Do you really want to be held accountable for that on the
[40:39]day of judgment?
[40:40]This has far-reaching consequences.
[40:45]Then the Immiam states because they filled their stomachs with haram doesn't
[40:51]mean they necessarily ate haram food.
[40:55]I mean I'm sure in Kufa haram food wasn't widely available.
[40:56]I mean it was a Muslim country.
[40:59]The imam is referring to haram income.
[41:03]The imam says because of that shan overpowered them.
[41:09]Shan surrounded them and they forgot Allah subhana tala.
[41:12]The result was fighting the Imam of their time on the 10th
[41:18]of Muharam.
[41:17]So this happened in this station my dear brothers and sisters.
[41:23]The station of as the imam was on his way to the
[41:29]second major station that the Imam stopped at is at for those
[41:33]of you have gone to Omrah or gone to the Hajj.
[41:38]That's the area that you go to to do youram for a
[41:39]second omrah.
[41:41]The Imam Alisam stopped at this place.
[41:45]Something interesting happened.
[41:47]The governor of Yemen who was assigned by Yazid.
[41:54]He had confiscated money from poor people.
[41:58]He oppressed them.
[41:57]He took their money and he was sending his money to Syria
[42:04]to Yazid Muawi.
[42:03]Imam Hussein Alisam sees that caravan carrying that money.
[42:10]The Imm orders his men, he says, "Confiscate that.
[42:11]They have stolen it from the poor." He had it confiscated so
[42:19]the Immiam could return it back to the poor people.
[42:20]This is a lesson for us, my dear brothers and sisters.
[42:24]Many of us when you see injustice in your family, in your
[42:27]company, in your organization, we say, "I don't want to get involved.
[42:32]It's none of my business.
[42:33]Sometimes if you work for a charity for a company and you
[42:38]see there is questionable behavior there are people who are misusing funds
[42:44]you have to do something you have to take action IM Hussein
[42:48]didn't say it's none of my business whatever what can I do
[42:51]Yazid took that money from these oppressed people it's none of my
[42:54]business he has a government with him no the Imam Alisam stopped
[42:59]that caravan and he confiscated what they had stolen from people and
[43:03]he wanted it to return to the people.
[43:06]Sometimes we have in our families an instance in which inheritance is
[43:12]denied from the rightful inheritors and you see that before your own
[43:20]eyes and you don't do something about that.
[43:21]That's not the Husini spirit.
[43:24]Once a sister in the community, she came, she complained that their
[43:30]father had passed away and the brothers took the they took the
[43:35]inheritance.
[43:34]So we spoke to one of the brothers who was decent.
[43:38]He wasn't involved in that.
[43:39]We told him, "Is that true?" He's like, "Yeah, say it's true.
[43:43]My other brothers, they took the inheritance." They're like, "No, she doesn't
[43:47]deserve any of that.
[43:47]We helped our father establish his business.
[43:49]We want the money.
[43:50]We're not giving her anything." Violating the law of Quran.
[43:55]clearly.
[43:55]So I told him, "Okay, why don't you get involved?" He's like,
[43:58]"Say it.
[43:59]I'm not going to get involved.
[44:00]You can do something about it.
[44:01]You can stop them." He's like, "Yeah, I don't want to get
[44:02]involved." When you see your own sister, when you see your family
[44:08]members, my dear brothers and sisters, violating the lives of Allah subhana
[44:12]wa ta'ala, it's not an option for you to say, "It's none
[44:14]of my business.
[44:16]I'm not following the path of Imam Hussein." Do something.
[44:21]Try at least.
[44:21]Yes, if you tried, you used all means and you couldn't do
[44:26]anything, you've done your part.
[44:26]But you have to do your part to stop injustice.
[44:30]So this is the lesson that we learned from Imam Hussein Alisam
[44:35]in the second station.
[44:35]Now we come to the third station.
[44:38]The third station is called Alaj.
[44:41]It's on your way from Mecca to Iraq.
[44:45]over there.
[44:46]When the Immiam reaches this third station, he dispatches one of his
[44:55]companions with a letter to Kufa.
[44:56]His name was Musawi, one of the great companions of Imam Hussein.
[45:01]He tells him, "Take my letter to the people of Kufa.
[45:07]Tell them I'm coming.
[45:06]I'm on my way.
[45:08]If they really want to support the Imam of their time, that's
[45:11]their opportunity.
[45:14]I'm here.
[45:14]takes the letter of the Imam.
[45:17]He was a man of honor.
[45:18]He would never betray Im Hussein.
[45:24]He goes to Kufa right around Kufa in an area called Kadisa.
[45:29]They capture him.
[45:28]The army of Iben Zad.
[45:32]They had spies.
[45:32]They realized that he was carrying a letter to the people of
[45:36]Kufa.
[45:37]So they capture him.
[45:38]They bring him to Iben Ziad.
[45:38]I want you to see the loyalty and the bravery of the
[45:43]companions of Imam Hussein.
[45:45]He's now put on trial.
[45:49]Iben Zad tells him I know that you're carrying a letter from
[45:52]Hussein to the Shia of Kufa.
[45:56]Isn't it?
[45:57]So, he's like, "Okay, yes." He says, "Give me the letter.
[46:01]I need to see it.
[46:01]I want to know the names mentioned in those letter.
[46:05]Who is it addressed to?" Told him Zad, right before I was
[46:10]captured, I destroyed the letter.
[46:14]I tore it apart.
[46:14]He told him, "Why did you tear it apart?" He's like, "So
[46:19]you couldn't see it.
[46:18]I tore it apart so you can't see its contents.
[46:21]I'm not going to reveal the secrets of Imam Hussein.
[46:26]I'm not going to reveal those names for you.
[46:27]He tells him, "Okay, you've got one of two choices.
[46:31]Either you tell me those names, the letter that Hussein wrote, who
[46:38]did he address it to because he wanted to go and kill
[46:39]them and persecute them?
[46:41]Or if you're not going to do that, if you refuse, then
[46:44]go on the pulpit here and I want you to curse Ali
[46:49]Hassan and Hussein.
[46:50]Curse them publicly.
[46:53]If you don't do one of these two, I'll have you beheaded.
[46:56]What would you do in that state?
[47:00]It was a very tough trial for the companions of Imam Hussein.
[47:04]This is all before Kbalah.
[47:06]So many of them sacrificed everything they had for Kbalah.
[47:10]Tonight, we're indebted to them.
[47:11]Let's remember and honor their legacy.
[47:14]He stood before him.
[47:16]He told him, "There's no chance that I will reveal the secrets
[47:18]of that letter.
[47:20]I'm not going to tell you.
[47:22]But if you want me to curse, ma Allah, I'll curse goes
[47:26]up on the member and the people, thousands of people.
[47:30]Imagine this is now the stronghold of Ib Ziad.
[47:33]That's the seat of his government in Kufa and Ib Zad is
[47:39]happy.
[47:40]He's anticipating now the B are going to be cursed.
[47:42]He got up on the mimbar.
[47:45]He praised Allah.
[47:45]He praised the prophet.
[47:46]Then he praised Imam Ali, Imam Hassan, Imam Hussein.
[47:50]And he cursed Ib Zad and Yazid and Muawi and the Omeayad
[47:54]with full courage, with bravery.
[47:58]Yes, that cost him his life.
[48:03]After that, Iben Zat fumed.
[48:04]He raged and they had him on the roof of the palace
[48:09]and then they threw his body from the roof of the palace.
[48:14]He fell to the ground as a shah and they dragged his
[48:17]body in the streets of Kufa.
[48:21]This was in Zara which is attributed to Im that he authored
[48:29]for Im Hussein.
[48:29]He sends his salams on.
[48:37]This was one of the great companions of the Imam.
[48:40]And the lesson for us, my dear brothers and sisters, is that
[48:46]when you're entrusted with a secret, will you honor that secret or
[48:51]no?
[48:50]Some people, if you want to broadcast something in the community, tell
[48:55]them a secret.
[48:57]When a friend entrusts you with a secret, that is a sacred
[49:04]secret between you and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, you're not allowed to
[49:08]share that.
[49:09]You're not allowed to use it against them one day.
[49:10]My dear brothers and sisters, it's one of the big sins in
[49:15]Islam to break people's secrets, to violate their secrets.
[49:19]And we see the companions of Imam Hussein, even when they're faced
[49:25]with death, they will not reveal any secrets.
[49:25]They're willing to die in the way of Allah subhana wa ta'ala
[49:30]in the way of morality in the way of justice.
[49:33]So this was the third station.
[49:37]Then we go to the last station that I will share with
[49:40]you tonight.
[49:41]And that station is Zar.
[49:42]Now the Imam with his family, they're going from one village to
[49:47]another village on their way to Kbalah.
[49:50]When Imam Hussein reaches the village of Zarud, he sees there were
[49:56]tents that were erected on the other side of the road.
[50:00]So the Imam asks, "What are these tents?
[50:04]Who's on the other side?" They tell him abdah these are the
[50:10]tents of was a very prominent figure but according to many reports
[50:19]he was not on the path of b in fact he was
[50:24]a bit critical of the b some reports claim that he was
[50:29]among the people who favored iban so now zu is on the
[50:36]other side of the road.
[50:37]Imm Hussein in his tents, they're on this side.
[50:40]When IM Hussein is told that you have on the other side,
[50:46]the Imam sends a messenger.
[50:47]He tells him, "Go and invite him.
[50:50]Tell him Hussein wants to talk to you." It was at the
[50:54]time of dinner.
[50:56]He was having dinner with his companions when the messenger of Imam
[51:00]Hussein enters the tent.
[51:05]I greet you on behalf of Hussein.
[51:10]He wants to see you.
[51:11]Initially when he heard that Imam Hussein wants to see him, he
[51:17]was upset.
[51:16]He felt uncomfortable.
[51:18]He said to him, "I'm not really interested.
[51:21]You know why I left Mecca?
[51:22]In fact, I left Mecca so I avoid seeing Hussein." You know
[51:27]why?
[51:27]Because he didn't want to get involved.
[51:28]Hussein has this problem with Yazid.
[51:32]I don't want to get involved.
[51:32]I ran away so I don't have to see Hussein and for
[51:36]him to speak to me and ask for my support.
[51:40]Initially he refuses.
[51:42]But then you know what happened?
[51:47]What changed the day?
[51:47]He had a righteous wife by the name of Dulham.
[51:52]Dulham approaches her husband Zuer.
[51:56]The son of Fatima is asking to see you and you say
[52:03]no.
[52:02]That's not a response to Hussein.
[52:04]Regardless of your differences with Hussein, he wants to see you.
[52:11]At least go and see him.
[52:14]Meet him.
[52:13]These simple words by his wife awakened his conscience.
[52:19]He felt that his response was actually shameful.
[52:23]The grandson of Allah wants to see you and you say no.
[52:28]Wall.
[52:28]One of the greatest gifts Allah can give you is a good
[52:34]spouse who reminds you of righteousness.
[52:35]Some of us when our spouses tell us what's right and what's
[52:40]wrong, we get bothered.
[52:41]We get defensive.
[52:43]We become toxic.
[52:46]If your wife tells you your behavior is not good, don't cheat
[52:51]this person.
[52:52]Don't do this.
[52:52]You get defensive.
[52:54]You get hurt.
[52:54]If your husband gives you advice, you get hurt.
[52:58]Your husband tells you to wear the hijab, you get hurt.
[53:03]Your wife tells you to get up and pray.
[53:05]There are people who get defensive.
[53:09]They start becoming toxic and they become aggressive.
[53:11]One of the greatest gifts that Allah can give you is to
[53:16]give you a spouse who shows you right from wrong.
[53:18]If you have such a spouse, thank Allah.
[53:20]Go kiss the hands of that spouse, brothers and sisters.
[53:25]That's a great gift that will save your soul.
[53:28]Allah saved his soul through this righteous wife.
[53:32]He feels regretful.
[53:35]He says, "Okay, I'll go and meet Hussein." He goes, he meets
[53:38]Imam Hussein.
[53:39]He comes back.
[53:42]His entire face had changed.
[53:43]The hadith, the report states his face was was radiating with joy.
[53:48]He came, he told his companions, he told all his men in
[53:53]the tents, he told them, "I am going to join Aba Abdah
[53:57]Hussein.
[53:56]Whoever wants to come with me, come.
[53:57]Whoever wants to leave, leave.
[54:01]I am now going to bring down the tents.
[54:03]They were shocked.
[54:06]Zu, moments earlier, you were refusing to even see him.
[54:12]What happened?
[54:10]By the way, Zu was was once asked, "What is it that
[54:16]flipped you so fast?" First of all, he saw the N in
[54:21]the in the face of Imam Hussein.
[54:23]He said he reminded me of Allah.
[54:26]But more important than that, he said once at the time of
[54:28]Salman al- Muhammadi, we were in an area called Balenar.
[54:33]It's in the north caucuses by Cremia by the Black Sea.
[54:38]He says we were in a conquest and we Muslims we achieved
[54:41]victory.
[54:42]We got spoils of war.
[54:43]Salman told us at the time I didn't understand what he meant.
[54:46]Today I realized Salman told us are you happy with your victory?
[54:53]We Muslims said yes of course we are.
[54:57]He told us one day when you have the opportunity to support
[55:02]the master of the youth of paradise be happier for that victory.
[55:07]So when he met Imam Hussein those words of Salman resonated with
[55:14]him and he decided to join Im Hussein.
[55:17]Now Zu you know what he does next?
[55:22]I know this might be a little bit difficult for you to
[55:27]digest but then he looks at his wife.
[55:31]He tells her I have divorced you now.
[55:32]Go with your brother to your family.
[55:34]You know why he did that?
[55:35]He told her, "I want to protect you because if you're associated
[55:38]with me, I'm now supporting Imam Hussein.
[55:41]So the Omeayads are going to turn against you and your family
[55:47]by divorcing you.
[55:47]I am going to protect you.
[55:49]So go with your brother to your family and I will join
[55:55]Imam Hussein." She tells him, "Oh Zah, I have one request from
[55:58]you." He tells her anything.
[56:00]Yes.
[56:01]She tells him on the day of judgment when you see Allah
[56:08]pray for me tell him to grant me his shaf he says
[56:11]yes I'll do that on the day of judgment if I see
[56:15]so he leaves he parts with his wife and he joins Imam
[56:22]Hussein to Kba but there is something that I want to say
[56:25]to Zu Zu Hey, you parted with your wife because you wanted
[56:34]to protect her.
[56:36]You did not want her to come on this journey and see
[56:41]the dangers of this journey.
[56:42]But Zoh, do you know that Zanab had to be in every
[56:48]step of this journey?
[56:52]Zaher.
[56:50]Do you know that Zanab in Kbalah, she had to see her
[56:56]brothers one by one massacred?
[56:58]She had to see those tents set to fire.
[57:02]Zah.
[57:03]Do you know that Zan after Im Hussein and Abd Abbas there
[57:13]was no one to protect her in who saw tragedies like Z?
[57:19]After Imam Hussein was massacred in Kbal, Zanab took it upon herself
[57:26]to gather the woman and the children, the orphans and the tents
[57:29]to make sure that they were safe.
[57:31]But her heart was in deep pain.
[57:34]She needed some consolation.
[57:35]Everyone got consolation from Zanab.
[57:40]But who would console Zanab?
[57:41]You know how she found her she found her consolation in the
[57:47]darkness of the night?
[57:48]On the day of Ashur at night, Zab leaves the tent.
[57:55]She finds her way to the battlefield, going between the bodies that
[58:02]were lying on the plains of Now it's dark at night.
[58:10]You can't really see.
[58:10]And all the bodies, they're beheaded.
[58:12]But she's looking for that body.
[58:14]But she was able to identify the body.
[58:18]How?
[58:19]Through the fragrant smell of Imam Hussein.
[58:22]She could smell her brother Hussein.
[58:25]That fragrant smell guide her guided her to the body of Imam
[58:28]Hussein.
[58:29]As she finds her way to the body of Im Hussein.
[58:36]She collapses on the body of her brother.
[58:41]She kisses her his severed neck.
[58:45]How much does the heart of Zan have to handle?
[58:50]And then she places her blessed hands under the back of Imam
[58:58]Hussein, under the body.
[58:57]And she says, she addresses her grandfather.
[59:08]She tells him, May the angels of the heavens pray on you.
[59:30]Oh, watch your grandson Hussein.
[59:35]This is your beloved Hussein on the plains of Kbala.
[59:38]They've stripped him from his garments.
[59:41]They've beheaded him.
[59:44]And then she said, "Allahhammed, oh Allah, accept this qurban from us.
[59:56]Oh Allah, accept this sacrifice from us." Yes, that's what Zanab had
[60:01]to endure.
[60:03]No one no one saw and tragedies like Zan.
[60:04]That's one day in Kabala.
[60:08]And one day in Kufa when Zab was in the carriage, they
[60:14]were being paraded in the city of Kufa.
[60:17]Zanab missed her brother Hussein.
[60:20]She opened the curtain of the carriage.
[60:23]You know what Zanab saw?
[60:27]She saw the head of Im Hussein on a spear.
[60:31]She had not seen him in a few days.
[60:35]She missed her brother.
[60:34]She began to cry as she struck her head on the pole
[60:40]of the carriage and she looked at the beautiful head of Imam
[60:44]Hussein radiating like the moon.
[60:50]Oh crescent, oh moon, how do I see you in this state?
[60:55]And then she speaks to Im Hussein's hand.
[60:57]She tells him about Abdah, look at the orphans with me.
[61:02]See what they did to us after you.
[61:03]Akbar that in Kufa they take Zanab to the presence of Iben
[61:09]Zad Zanab was sitting in a corner the arrogant Iben Zad he
[61:13]sees there's a lady with women around her he says who is
[61:18]she tell her this is zi when he realizes this is he
[61:25]says I thank Allah for destroying you and for killing your brother
[61:29]Hussein how much Zab has to handle After all those tragedies, she
[61:34]lost her brothers.
[61:37]She lost her sons.
[61:36]Now Iban Zad says these words she says, "I thank Allah for
[61:44]blessing us with martyrdom and shahad." He felt humiliated.
[61:46]He thought he was going to destroy Zanab, but Zanab destroyed him.
[61:51]And that's when he famously stated, "How did you see what Allah
[61:57]did to your brother Hussein?" And she said, "I saw nothing but
[62:03]beauty." Zad realized he's lost.
[62:04]If he continues to argue with Zanab, she's going to destroy him.
[62:10]So, you know how he quiets Zanab?
[62:11]He says to his men, "Bring me the head of Hussein." They
[62:17]bring the head of Imam Hussein to Ibad.
[62:20]Zanab is watching.
[62:22]He takes a stick in his hand and he starts to beat
[62:29]the lips and the teeth of Im Hussein.
[62:32]Zab couldn't handle that.
[62:33]She collapsed.
[62:36]She fell down.
[62:38]Zam was one of the companions of Allah.
[62:41]He couldn't take that anymore.
[62:45]He tells him, "I can't take this anymore.
[62:49]Wallah with my eyes.
[62:49]I saw many times kissing the lips of Hussein.
