[0:03][Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] m [Music] be foreign what led to
[1:57]the poisoning and the martyrdom of imam al-hassan alaihissalam what happened in
[2:03]the ten years that followed the treaty between imam al-hasan the son
[2:09]of abu sufyan what was the position of imam al-hasan alaihissalam in
[2:14]medinan society in particular and the islamic empire in general why did
[2:21]this particular poisoning take place who was responsible and what happened at
[2:26]the burial of imam al-hasan alaihissalam indeed you find sadly that many
[2:32]of these questions are glossed over all of us when we discuss
[2:37]the biography of imam al-hasan alaihissalam normally our discussion of the biography
[2:41]goes up to the treaty the treaty between the imam and between
[2:46]the people of shem was the treaty that was concluded at least
[2:50]nine years before imam al-hasan alaihissalam died imam al-hassan was around 38
[2:58]years old when the treaty was concluded and he died at the
[3:03]age of 47.
[3:03]when he dies at the age of 47 according to the narrations
[3:08]that we have we find that those 10 years or those nine
[3:11]years one has to ask the question that imam al-hasan alaihissalam seclude
[3:16]himself that imam al-hasan alayhi stop interacting with people and is that
[3:23]what one would expect of an imam let's say for example as
[3:26]we mentioned yesterday politically you may not be at the helm but
[3:29]spiritually you're still a role model the belief system of the people
[3:34]relies on you unfortunately not only have people not dissected what took
[3:40]place in the nine or so years or ten years after the
[3:44]treaty was agreed between muawiyah and imam al-hasan alayhi but also at
[3:50]the same time there is this impression of a very very timid
[3:54]imam al-hasan alayhi a very soft imam al-hasan alayhi an imam who's
[3:58]not brave or bold and his words are not words of somebody
[4:02]who displays for example the same bravery as his father or as
[4:07]imam al-hussein hence many of us whenever we'll mention the bay it's
[4:12]always say i'd love to live like ali and die like hussain
[4:18]so what happened to the brother in the middle what happened to
[4:23]imam al-hasan the reason we do not include imam al-hasan in many
[4:28]of our discussions is because of the fact that we have not
[4:31]studied our own literature and therefore dissected the life of imam al-hasan
[4:37]when a person looks within shia literature you'll find when he needed
[4:44]to be humble he was the most humble but when he needed
[4:49]to be arrogant he could be the most arrogant arrogance in which
[4:52]sense arrogance is a sin on most occasions except it's for that
[5:01]arrogance against the arrogant is worship of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala allah one
[5:08]of his titles is therefore when a person hears that imam al-hasan
[5:13]when he wanted to be he could be arrogant against the arrogant
[5:17]it highlights that if wanted to annihilate you in a discussion it
[5:23]didn't matter who you were he has the sharpest of tongues he
[5:28]has the quickest of wit he is able to be bold in
[5:34]his choice of words for al muhammad are the family of what
[5:37]of balarama they are the family where if you want to see
[5:42]eloquence and you want to see the language which can be used
[5:46]in the most simple way to destroy a person of the opposition
[5:50]then look no further than the household of the holy prophet peace
[5:54]be upon him it's family you wouldn't associate that with imam al-hasan
[5:57]al-islam you'd never think that imam al-hasan alayhi would for example call
[6:02]somebody a dog or that imam salaam would tell somebody that if
[6:07]i were you i checked who my real father was or you
[6:10]wouldn't expect imam al-hasan alaihissalam to look towards someone and call him
[6:15]a mosquito this if any of us were to say this to
[6:18]anyone then they would say that is not the akhlaq of i
[6:23]agree with you generally of the quran or we read the lines
[6:40]these verses are saying invite towards the way of god with wisdom
[6:45]and kind words the prophet was a man of sublime morality if
[6:49]he was hard-hearted or he was severe then many would have run
[6:52]away from him but the quran also when he wants to say
[6:57]methyl methyl it's ready to say it his example is like the
[7:00]example of a dog or if the quran wants to call someone
[7:02]a bastard it will as in the quran wants to say that
[7:05]someone is born out of adultery a zanim for example then the
[7:10]quran is ready to highlight why because if these things aren't highlighted
[7:14]then you cannot tell the difference between hack and battle everybody by
[7:19]the time imam al-hasan alaihissalam had concluded the treaty was now uncertain
[7:27]are we with ahmednal or are we with hasan and hussain are
[7:32]we to go towards the path of walid bin akbar the son
[7:37]of or are we going to go towards the path of the
[7:40]likes of for example muhammad or abel some of the most important
[7:50]figures of the religion of islam are alive despising each other but
[7:54]alive differences with each other but alive and therefore imam al-hasan al-islam
[7:58]cannot just sit back and be humble with everybody imam has to
[8:02]make clear that there is a particular barometer and a measure of
[8:06]hack and baton by the time imam al-hasan al-assam dies on a
[8:11]night like this and is martyred who are the personalities who are
[8:15]still alive muawiyah is alive yazid is alive is alive is alive
[8:23]muhammad is alive imam al-hussein and all of these have a major
[8:28]role to play one way or the other in the assassination and
[8:34]the burial and the funeral of imam al-hasan al-islam someone might turn
[8:38]around and say wait aisha has a particular role to play in
[8:45]the funeral of imam al-hasan a huge role but many muslims do
[8:47]not know because when ayesha was there at the time of imam
[8:54]al-hassan died eight years or so after imam died and she died
[8:57]a couple of years before karbala aisha was present when imam al-hasan
[9:01]alayhi islam was being buried ask many muslims in the world do
[9:06]you know what isha's stand was when imam ask many muslims do
[9:13]you know what his stand was they do not know about the
[9:16]abbas was present what was the stand many do not know therefore
[9:20]when we come to imam al-hasan alaihissalam's life after the treaty a
[9:25]question has to be asked if the treaty was signed in the
[9:28]41st day after hijrah and imam al-hasan dies in the 50th year
[9:31]after hijrah what all of a sudden leads to muawiyah orchestrating his
[9:38]poisoning why doesn't happen 42 after hijra 43 nine years later i
[9:44]mean something has taken place where muawiyah thinks that now there is
[9:47]a need to get rid of him for maybe his tongue has
[9:52]become too sharp for us and there is a need to finish
[9:56]him let us tonight look at the incident that led to the
[9:59]poisoning of imam al-hassan and i'd like to do this in the
[10:04]following stages number one why is it that um we need to
[10:10]wake up after that treaty he's done a number on us number
[10:13]two when they all began to abuse his father in front of
[10:19]him how did he remain calm but destroy them with his tongue
[10:21]a destruction like no other destruction number three how did he highlight
[10:27]to some of them that there are verses in the quran either
[10:30]about you or about your fathers no wonder you hate my father
[10:33]for every verse about him praises him forever number four how then
[10:39]did mohawia say that this should be an orchestration now of his
[10:43]poisoning number five when he was to be taken towards the grave
[10:49]of rasulallah who is the lady who objected and what was the
[10:55]reason she objected number six when he wanted to head to bari
[10:59]what happened to his holy body and how many arrows were over
[11:05]his body simply out of the hate of the umayyads towards the
[11:09]grandson of the holy prophet peace be upon him his family and
[11:13]finally when he felt the poison what did he say to imam
[11:18]al-hussein what did he say to say it and how did the
[11:23]ramifications of that event continue to karbala let's examine this and i
[11:27]set the topic in complete depth imam al-hasan when you imagine him
[11:30]you never imagine a man who will come out full of force
[11:35]against the orchestrators of oppression and the muslim ummah never do we
[11:41]hear about the sharpness of the tongue of imam al-hasan alaihissalam but
[11:45]one day this sharpness of tongue virtually destroyed the umayyads and their
[11:51]henchmen in which way whenever he would come to medina would always
[11:55]want imam al-hassan and imam al-hussein to publicly be seen alongside him
[12:00]to try and show the people of medina that look there's no
[12:04]real issue between us here's hassan they're all together with me it
[12:08]was like a political show likewise for imam al-hasam hussain that was
[12:13]also a political show as well as had come to muawiyah one
[12:20]day and said to him that we have a problem in medina
[12:22]i said to him what's the issue he said to him the
[12:27]problem is that hasan bin hali after we thought we had silenced
[12:31]him with the treaty has revived the sunnah of his father now
[12:36]when he walks in medina many walk with him you could hear
[12:41]the patter of their footsteps and the soles of their feet as
[12:43]they're walking alongside him when he orders them they obey him and
[12:48]when he says something to them they believe him now we cannot
[12:54]let his sickness affect our health or his battle affect our haqq
[13:01]we have to pull him in and humiliate him let us bring
[13:06]him in and i will get the rest of our henchmen and
[13:10]we will abuse him and abuse his father publicly when we do
[13:14]that it will be a message to him that don't think you
[13:17]have all of this power and all of this influence we're all
[13:21]here and who were they you had walid you had amr the
[13:29]son of uthman ben afan you had otbah the all of these
[13:40]were present they were all together he said you have to do
[13:46]something about this now allow us to humiliate him he's going to
[13:49]come to us anyway when we call him let's abuse him and
[13:53]abuse his father so we calm him down because what were they
[13:57]fearing if i haven't signed this treaty with you all your concentration
[14:01]now is on the expansion of the islamic empire you've forgotten the
[14:05]capital of the empire imam al-hasan knew that if i let him
[14:08]focus on what he thinks is his victory and he leaves me
[14:14]alone the most dangerous thing to do is to let an imam
[14:17]have freedom alone with the community when he had a little bit
[14:23]of freedom look how many hadiths emerged that we've given him too
[14:29]much freedom now let's call him in well he has said and
[14:32]when you call him in what do you want to do he
[14:34]said we'll attack him with our words and we'll humiliate him but
[14:38]i fear there's a problem this is a family you cannot get
[14:42]humiliated when you try to attack this family there's no way that
[14:47]you're going to be able to humiliate them the son of abu
[14:51]subhana agreed with he said look you're right i said no we
[14:56]must we cannot let the man continue and allow his battle to
[14:59]overtake our haqq what you see clearly emerging is that 40 or
[15:06]so years after rasulallah died the concept of what is islam clearly
[15:11]had two opposite parties one party who believed abusing abu torab was
[15:17]a norm abusing imam salam was a norm that it was normal
[15:21]for them to chill in a gathering in public and say we're
[15:25]gonna abuse his father there are many who in the sunni world
[15:28]today who love alibaba they adore him if they were living at
[15:35]the time of muawiyah then they would have brought up in a
[15:38]sectarian social media where you had to curse ali and therefore at
[15:43]that time you either had the islam of muhammad or you had
[15:50]declared islam that had emerged the lady in his house came to
[16:02]him she said to him that these people have all called you
[16:05]he said who said his son as well as the others who
[16:16]were there such as all of them have gathered together imam al-hassan
[16:25]to ensure that the punishment afflicts these people which means that straight
[16:29]away he makes it clear that to him these are disbelievers why
[16:33]would imam al-hasan al-islam pray for allah to punish this group and
[16:37]for allah to give him strength in where he is going so
[16:43]that he is ready highlights to us whenever you're going to face
[16:46]this type of discussion with people who have that type of nature
[16:51]read the dua before you go don't think i'm gonna go in
[16:55]powerful even at that moment you have to ask allah for the
[16:59]strength as you approach this gathering this is a public gathering of
[17:01]people who hate him and hate his father and hate al muhammad
[17:06]have a severe animosity and everyone's going to see what's going to
[17:09]happen so imam al-hasan reads this dua he comes towards the gathering
[17:15]is there more is that everybody's there imam al-hassen is there standing
[17:20]in front of them what does he do he straight away curses
[17:27]imam al-hassen and curses his father yes he curses them and then
[17:31]he says to him at that moment he says to him that's
[17:37]not one thing your father poisoned the first khalifa and your father
[17:41]was part of the killing of the second khalifa and that your
[17:46]father was one of those who participated in the killing of the
[17:48]third khalifa and you are a fool like your father is a
[17:53]fall both of you are fools you have been exposed as a
[18:01]fool with your character imagine you say this to the grandson of
[18:07]rasulallah who rasulullah say very clearly whoever loves them loves me and
[18:11]whoever hates them hates me they are the masters hassan and hussain
[18:14]are the masters of the youth paradise this man not only is
[18:18]cursing imam al-islam i ask you someone who curses imam al-islam can
[18:22]you still call him a muslim but not this is where in
[18:27]the judge of tabarsi this narration [Music] like your father was and
[18:43]you will never achieve this amir al-mu'min title when he says this
[18:47]is some people have this impression that imam al-hasan would have just
[18:50]turned around and said we shouldn't talk like this we are all
[18:52]muslim brothers and sisters and we should maintain the peace with one
[18:58]another no no no no no when i have a mother talking
[19:00]like us arrogance against the arrogant is worship because if i act
[19:09]humbly with an arrogant person like that then that person will be
[19:14]like the peacock who will ensure that its feathers flow everywhere they
[19:18]will never be humbled at that moment you have to humble them
[19:22]with him [Music] firstly he shows us that is something that can
[19:44]be done those who say that we shouldn't do imam says clearly
[19:49]the imam is doing on him holy quran do you have an
[20:01]ayah which brings these two words together yeah you do you know
[20:23]how many different men claimed they were your father let me give
[20:27]you their names because what you have is that your mother used
[20:31]to have a job as a call girl she would be available
[20:36]for every man in arabia because he wouldn't call him son of
[20:39]us he calls him our son of nabiha like his dad called
[20:45]him his father amir muhammad islam doesn't call him son of us
[20:48]he says oh son of nabira it's bad that you get attached
[20:50]to your mom because there's no chance in hell that you know
[20:53]who your dad is he said let me give you the possibilities
[20:56]in the national lottery of who your dad could be he said
[21:00]as for your father it could be abu sufyan he claimed to
[21:07]be your father and at the same time walid also claimed to
[21:09]be your father and you had others such as another also claimed
[21:14]to be your father and you had al haas claim to be
[21:17]your father and others and others their names are mentioned six of
[21:20]them and how did you find out who the father is you
[21:23]put six names in a bowl this is the way we find
[21:25]out our fathers of course in modern day society that you get
[21:30]six names in a bowl you put your hand in there and
[21:34]you take it out and it said allah so you were called
[21:36]to me you are the shani and you are the abtar and
[21:41]you are may allah withdraw your his mercy from you your mother
[21:46]would used to go to the tribe of abbott race telling their
[21:50]men please come to me please come to me she wanted all
[21:55]of them to have a go at her that was the position
[21:59]of your mother therefore when you come and insult me and my
[22:02]father it's better for you to focus on your lineage and your
[22:07]mother and the profession that your mother had therefore in this one
[22:10]whole area he's given us a tafseer of an eye of the
[22:11]quran that's meanwhile who used to make fun of rasulallah by saying
[22:22]that means you can't be son because allah is saying your enemy
[22:26]is the one who is after so them who call you no
[22:29]could be abu sufyan that night we have to give him benefit
[22:33]of the taoi he could have been the one could be walid
[22:36]he had a good goal it could be for example another he
[22:41]had his chance suffice for me to say that everyone was well
[22:46]acquainted with amras's mother when imam al-hasan says that is silenced at
[22:54]that moment amr the son of uthman bin afan began to curse
[22:57]imam ali you know for al muhammad it used to hurt them
[23:01]when people used to curse imam ali islam always in the ni
[23:04]or in the messiah we always hear zayn of salaam broken when
[23:08]they would curse her father and imam al-hasan was broken but imam
[23:11]hasn't maintained himself so i'm the son of utman ben afan said
[23:15]to him that may god curse you and curse your father he
[23:19]looked at him he said why would i care about the opinions
[23:23]of someone like you you remind me of the mosquito that is
[23:27]on a palm tree that said to the palm tree or palm
[23:33]tree i'm about to fly away and the palm tree looked at
[23:37]it and said i didn't even know you were on me why
[23:39]should i care that you're not flying away who cares about you
[23:43]you could say whatever you want but i really don't care about
[23:48]your opinion that is what you are worth in my eyes that
[23:52]person was shot up there and then next was someone imam al-hasan
[23:55]al-islam had been waiting for for a very long time walid the
[23:58]son of akbar walid bin akbar had been a hater of amir
[24:09]was one of the main people pushing muawiyah to fight at safin
[24:13]where he said to him i will never believe you are the
[24:17]son of your father unless you fight ali in the battle of
[24:19]safein walid sitting there seeing that amr the son of uthman has
[24:24]just been described as a mosquito which is blatantly an insult and
[24:28]has seeing how amrasa's mother has been known as everybody's best friend
[24:34]now he is wondering what's going to happen to me and so
[24:38]at that moment what took place when he cursed imam hasan said
[24:43]i don't blame you i can see why you curse my father
[24:47]firstly my father taught your father a great lesson on the day
[24:53]of better and finished him completely secondly every ayah on fisk and
[24:59]the father is revealed about you and the ayahs on iman and
[25:03]the mutman are about my father look how clear you know the
[25:12]famous i in the quran bismillah verify the news otherwise what will
[25:34]happen you will label a whole group of people with ignorance and
[25:39]then you regret what you've done we could not say we've all
[25:42]been there at one stage or another in our life someone comes
[25:43]tells us a piece of news we believe it and then later
[25:46]it turns out to be a lordo nonsense so there was a
[25:49]quran because of this now i'm sure some of you are thinking
[25:52]hold on so there's a verse in the quran allah reveals and
[25:56]there's only six and a half thousand verses in the quran but
[25:58]allah reveals a verse calling someone a first and somehow this guy
[26:08]becomes part of the islamic authority this was uthman bin afan's governor
[26:15]of kufa this waleed i beg you if if a holy book
[26:18]the lord of the book calls someone farsik now imagine allah even
[26:24]some of them he doesn't tell us who they are he hides
[26:27]them from us covers their faults but clearly labeled because this the
[26:35]two of them used to hate each other when benny mustala converted
[26:41]well he'd been converted collect the taxes from them this was because
[26:49]he hasn't converted with conviction still had hate against beni mustala whereas
[26:54]many muslims converted with conviction so they had a new open forgiveness
[26:58]for waleed from the past animosity that they had when walid was
[27:03]approaching their area bernie mustard was coming out to welcome him what
[27:05]did he think was of his evil heart he thought they've come
[27:09]out to have a punch-up with me he returned back to madinah
[27:11]benny was talking have become people who have apostated again at that
[27:16]moment why would they apostate they have just converted to islam it
[27:23]turned out that this person has accused them of jail in jail
[27:28]he brings you news and to see man you end up regretting
[27:40]what you have done so at that moment the quran had revealed
[27:43]that this guy's a firesilk when you see how many times the
[27:47]difference between the one who is the phaser and the one who's
[27:52]as we see in how many times do we recite this line
[27:54]and you see it throughout the scriptures [Music] bro if allah the
[28:16]quran has revealed an eye about me being a faster how do
[28:19]i end up as a governor of the islamic state he was
[28:23]related to uthman he was a governor imam al-hasan says to him
[28:26]you still remember my father's 80 lashes on you when you were
[28:30]drunk he was leading salat al-fajr he reached number four how many
[28:39]raka's are there i can show you people in the world who
[28:44]want to finish the second one quickly and jump into bed nobody
[28:48]gets to three at feder you've got to be out of your
[28:57]head to reach number four at federer yeah and he mixed jack
[29:00]daniels and bakadi and all this guinness put them all together you
[29:04]might reach three but to reach number four and then not just
[29:08]number four turn around into shahrukh and say do you guys want
[29:11]me to continue uthman was not ready to punish him relations you
[29:19]know muslims when it comes to nepotism are the kings uthman was
[29:24]not ready to punish him so who punished him so imam al-hasan
[29:30]said the ayahs on menin are about my father and the ayah
[29:34]is about the father about your father about you and that do
[29:38]you remember the lashes my father gave you the 80 lashes no
[29:43]wonder you don't like my father not only did he destroy your
[29:47]father at better but he also was the one who reprimanded you
[29:50]and no one had the bravery to for being a governor who
[29:55]was drunk of the islamic empire and also i have news for
[30:00]you what's your name walid bin akbar that's not your dad so
[30:06]what do you mean he said your father's the quan but to
[30:11]say faith you're called waleed son of akbar your mom had slept
[30:16]with the quran and therefore you were a person who was born
[30:21]from that particular father and i've got more news for you if
[30:25]you go and find out you'll find out that you're actually older
[30:28]than the person who they say you are the son of so
[30:31]ah definitely is not your dad is that all that's all you
[30:37]got anything else to say no okay moving on swiftly as for
[30:41]you who did he come to next ottba the son of abu
[30:46]sufyan why should i care about someone like you your family are
[30:48]all gonna burn in hell forever you want to abuse my father
[30:52]your family or son of abu sufyan all of you will burn
[30:56]in hell forever and you shouldn't focus on me and my father
[30:59]that much you should focus more on the man you caught in
[31:03]your wife's bed last week and done nothing too okay so now
[31:07]he came and finished all of them then who then yazid has
[31:13]even said to him on one occasion i don't know why i
[31:15]don't like you i i just look at your face and i
[31:19]don't like you which is not unusual that a son of zinna
[31:22]will not like the son of purity it's something very normal but
[31:24]imam al-hassan al-islam said to him i've got the answer for you
[31:28]yes i'll tell you why you don't like me yazid if you
[31:31]read the quran surah 17 verse 64.
[31:33]when allah subhanahu wa says that shaytan shares with you your wealth
[31:40]and your children yes he said to him yazid when how does
[31:45]shaytan share with us wealth when we do haram business isn't it
[31:50]shaytan she is wealth with us yazid how is it that shaytan
[31:54]shares children with us because you can understand that shaytan tempts us
[31:59]when he shares our businesses when we do haram in terms of
[32:02]children if you look at your origin you'll find that you were
[32:04]consummated with shaytan being part of that consummation that night you'll go
[32:09]and see hinds origin and you'll see that shaytan had a pleasant
[32:12]time that night with them so you find therefore one by one
[32:18]did not hold back with that image that imam al-hasan would never
[32:22]be brave like imam hussain imam hussain saying he could destroy you
[32:36]someone might say but how could imam al-hasan say these things imam
[32:39]could say what he wants it's not for me to justify the
[32:51]likes of these you cannot just sit back and say they are
[32:54]muslim and i am a muslim you have to make it clear
[32:57]that there is a difference between those of pure origin and those
[33:02]who are and that's why muawiyah knew muawiyah knew when he told
[33:04]us don't mess with imam al-hasan when it comes to these things
[33:08]because you guys are all going to be humiliated you just found
[33:10]out that your mother was a cool girl you just found out
[33:14]that that's not even your real dad you just found out that
[33:18]your worth in his eyes a mosquito and nothing more when you
[33:21]find these things out you don't have any face to show anymore
[33:24]but one thing we need to do now is that we need
[33:28]to get rid of him because now he's had too much power
[33:32]in medina and when he's had all of this power in medina
[33:35]it's fundamental that we finish him off how do we finish him
[33:41]off we finish him off by making sure that we can get
[33:43]to those who are close to him because after the treaty was
[33:47]signed there's an agreement there's not going to be any more fighting
[33:49]for example that takes place you're not going to fight the shia
[33:54]of ali and our followers so how do we get to him
[33:58]imam al-hasan of his wives you had for example the daughter of
[34:01]talaga of his wives you had ramla the mother of qasim and
[34:05]others of his wives you had jada the daughter of al-ashaf and
[34:12]this is narrated by the way not just in our school in
[34:15]islam but problem is many people who are not shia only love
[34:19]and respect imam al-hasan islam because of his relation to rasulallah there
[34:23]is no conception of him being a man of and hikmah and
[34:27]studying his sermons and his supplications simply he's the grandson of rasulallah
[34:33]that's the only respect orchestrated that we get some poison which is
[34:41]send when the holy prophet peace be upon him his family all
[34:43]his life is saying whoever loves him loves me whoever hates him
[34:48]hates me whoever angers him angers me whoever hurts the prophet heard
[34:54]says you found that he made sure that he told jada the
[35:01]daughter of what did he say he said very clearly to her
[35:04]that if you poison hassan then who will i give you yes
[35:09]eid my son she went ahead and she gave the poison to
[35:15]the imam when she gave the poison to the imam the narrations
[35:18]meant to mention to us that the imam died shortly after the
[35:23]poison was given to him it absolutely was one of the strongest
[35:26]poisons ever given to any of the imams of al muhammad sallallahu
[35:32]alaihi wasallam imam was therefore killed muawiyah had orchestrated this you'd think
[35:38]that now that the imam has died in medina you'd think that
[35:41]that would be it there would be no issue they'd go and
[35:45]bury him imam al-hasan in his will just before he had died
[35:47]he said to imam al-hussein he said that i want you to
[35:53]bury me where next to in the jannatal bakri one may argue
[35:56]possibly that could be next to his mother father who knows but
[36:01]i want to be buried next to who my grandmother father assad
[36:05]he loved his grandmother fathama bint assad because when they were young
[36:09]she was in their house so he loved his grandma he said
[36:16]bury me gentle next to my grandmother fatama bint assad when he
[36:21]said that to him he also said to him that try and
[36:25]remain patient with what you you're about to see after i pass
[36:27]away i want you to remain patient let's not have any problems
[36:30]between the muslims as to what you're going to see and if
[36:36]you can please allow me that when the maid or the jannah
[36:41]is i want you to go past the grave of my grandfather
[36:46]so that i renew my covenant with my grandfather it's just something
[36:51]of a barakah that when you are carrying the coffin for example
[36:56]you go towards where the grave of my grandfather just go past
[37:00]for a bit and then continue to wear continue to gentle narrations
[37:08]mentioned that of the people who stood up against imam al-hasan being
[37:14]buried near his grandfather who were they the first of them was
[37:18]who was aisha the wife of rasulullah she was the first to
[37:27]stand up and this is narrated within shiite and non-shia literature why
[37:32]would you stand up against a jainist that all it wants to
[37:38]do is come a little bit near the grave of rasulallah and
[37:41]move on for what reason isn't this the master of the youth
[37:47]of paradise don't you claim that after the battle of jamal you
[37:49]sought repentance for fighting imam ali salaam if you truly sought repentance
[37:55]for fighting imam ali at german because you always hear this that
[37:58]aisha when she thought she was wrong but she asked for forgiveness
[38:02]and imam ali okay but one of the signs of forgiveness is
[38:08]a regret be never doing the same thing again standing up against
[38:13]someone if now someone says to you i want to do toba
[38:16]i want to do is the far part of this far is
[38:19]what is that i've regretted what i've done but in other parts
[38:21]i don't go back to the same place or do the same
[38:25]thing again otherwise that is not complete stands up on what she
[38:30]rode a mule on that day muhammad abner came out he said
[38:35]one day on a camel another day on a mule blatantly said
[38:39]it and she said to him what do you have to do
[38:44]with the matter of the sons of fatama and imam al-hussein intervenes
[38:48]by saying he has three fatimas in his lineage he can have
[38:51]anything to do with the sons of fatima she came out riding
[38:55]a mule a saddled mule the janaza of imam all they want
[39:00]to do is go near the grave of rasulallah she said no
[39:04]it's not happening if you oppose this issue what does it say
[39:12]about your belief system i ask you because when a person says
[39:15]to me that you shia you do not like for example the
[39:20]wife of rasulallah my brother me i don't wake up one morning
[39:24]and randomly say who shall i not like today let me see
[39:27]give me a bowl so i can pick out a name i
[39:29]don't like i see someone who fights imam i see another one
[39:33]who stops the janazah and the the the party who are going
[39:39]towards bakri this is not just in my literature and mind you
[39:41]i don't care if it's in other people's literature and it's only
[39:44]in mine because mine is more important than anybody else's so what
[39:48]happens was that she came out on a mule on saddle and
[39:52]she was on that mule before that only 14 years earlier she
[39:57]was on a camel the camel there was a carriage this one
[40:01]direct saddle no carriage she came out mohamed says one day she's
[40:05]riding a mule another day she had written a camel why did
[40:10]she not allow this is my property the area around the grave
[40:15]of rasulallah is what you leave behind inheritance you have a widow
[40:20]so when islam says if you leave a widow behind how much
[40:23]goes to the widow one eighth of your property do you agree
[40:26]so she says that this is my property and therefore i don't
[40:31]allow the problem i remember telling abu hanifa when abu hanifa said
[40:34]one eighth goes to the wife and mothman said okay i agree
[40:37]but there's nine wives one eighth times one ninth times nine is
[40:42]what one out of seventy two so in reality only a small
[40:46]portion should go to aisha because when people ask me how comes
[40:50]abu bakr and omar a part of their inheritance they used for
[40:59]their fathers to be buried but when you're two out of nine
[41:04]how did you get that much anyway so what you have therefore
[41:08]with ayesha she said that this will not happen imam al-hasan had
[41:11]told imam al-hussein look at the volume yeah and you truly when
[41:18]i hear them call out those lines honestly i i sometimes think
[41:24]of those lines and i say truly oppressed the man not only
[41:29]is poison on the myriad orders from the children of hindu and
[41:33]abu sufyan but all he wants is that his body is taken
[41:37]towards the grave of rasulallah and she comes out and imam al-hussein
[41:42]makes it clear that you know what if it wasn't for the
[41:46]will of my brother you would not get in my way it
[41:50]makes no difference to me in reality you make no difference to
[41:55]us we would continue and press ahead but my brother requested that
[41:58]yeah abba abdullah don't let there be trouble and bloodshed because of
[42:04]my funeral then on the way towards who was the second objective
[42:08]and this is what rubbish came to islam unfortunately after rasulallah marwan
[42:15]was banished he wasn't even allowed back the prophet had banished him
[42:19]for this was a troublemaker he ordered four arrows to be shot
[42:23]all over all over the body of imam al-hassan imagine i ask
[42:31]you a question which members of al-muhammad had a burial which you
[42:36]would be proud of honestly i ask each and every one of
[42:40]you which members you'd find that there are people coming in to
[42:45]bury him and there's others who are going to do elections i
[42:50]don't need to describe to you you are all shia at fatima
[42:52]you're the lovers of fatima secretly in the middle of the night
[42:58]imam amir and you know who was hurt the most when he
[43:07]saw arrows showering as janazah who do you think out of the
[43:12]family of a lil bait cannot bear to see the imam's hurt
[43:19]on that time was about how old he was about 23 years
[43:25]of age and he stood up and he said how dare you
[43:27]attack my brother's body in that way and where have we heard
[43:31]those lines before yes he did not say this only in karbala
[43:55]stands up he wants to go for the defense and only imam
[44:03]al-hussein could stop him because his obedience to imam al-hussein is the
[44:09]highest obedience i don't think we will ever be able to explain
[44:15]abbas is obedience to hussein and we only know of the obedience
[44:19]of the 10th of muharram and that is the greatest obedience but
[44:25]at medina on a night like this take your heart to jannat
[44:28]al-baqir all of you i haven't been to barrier for a number
[44:31]of years now and i miss it so much may allah bless
[44:34]all of us that we can go to bake on a night
[44:39]like this to be next to hassan and zayn muhammad may allah
[44:47]bless all of us that were able to go it was only
[44:51]about abdullah who's able to tell abel for the weight and didn't
[44:54]we see that at karbala how many times that ability say let
[44:59]me go and imam hussain says noises okay that's it i won't
[45:02]go you will never ever see obedience like a bastard hussein it's
[45:07]the most unique obedience but at the same time in medina it
[45:11]was extremely difficult for abel and even more difficult for imam people
[45:19]do not realize how much pain imam al-hussein was in when he
[45:26]saw his brother imam al-hassan in that much pain i've seen poets
[45:29]describe this in the most amazing ways sometimes you hear poets where
[45:33]they describe imam hussain calling out i wish they took my body
[45:36]rather than yours let them take my liver instead of yours let
[45:42]me go through the trial instead of you going through the trial
[45:47]and why does he bring up trial as one poet makes it
[45:49]clear it's as if imam al-hussein says to his brother we were
[45:55]together when our father died we were there when our mother's rip
[45:59]was broken we were there when our grandfather died is this the
[46:04]time for a brother to leave his beloved brother is this the
[46:09]time for a brother to leave his beloved brother and if you
[46:14]read the narrations of the last moments of the life of imam
[46:16]al-hassan then you find within those narrations there's a sudden moment where
[46:25]imam al-hussein looks towards his brother and he says to him what's
[46:30]the anguish about what's the pain tell me and he said to
[46:32]him the poison is finishing me now imagine you look towards your
[46:39]brother and you have love for your brother and your brother tells
[46:41]you these are the last moments and you could tell the pain
[46:48]you could tell the pain in imam al-hussein you know he is
[46:53]in excruciating pain because he cannot bear to see what's happened to
[46:57]his brother and there are these lines that say that imam hussain
[47:00]said who did it is it's her let me go and he
[47:05]said you have to wait you have to remain patient but get
[47:07]me a stick please if you can and get a ball for
[47:11]me why a stick wire ball because the piece is the poison
[47:17]was so strong that pieces of meat were coming out now and
[47:21]he was vomiting those pieces of that liver just small small pieces
[47:25]from the inside were coming out sometimes you just stick to bring
[47:30]them out he saw the ball in front of him and it
[47:33]broke his heart and i'm sure it broke the heart of his
[47:38]mother fatima as well seeing her son poisoned in that way when
[47:41]they were both together therefore at that moment he could see that
[47:48]imam hussain had broken down and he had seen that he was
[47:51]now slowly vomiting more blood coming out into the ball all of
[47:56]a sudden they heard the movement of the door when they heard
[48:02]the movement of the door imam al-hasan alayhi his salaam who is
[48:18]at the door is was going through she walked in towards the
[48:32]room imam al-hasan my brother why do you cover the ball he
[48:41]said to him oh hussein i don't want zayn to have a
[48:47]heart broken looking at what's inside the ball i ask him oh
[48:53]imam if you thought that that would break the heart of i
[49:03]ask you when she saw a shimmer on the chest of hussein
[49:08]i asked you when she saw the ball of a barbados head
[49:15]in front like this the difficulty that she's going through mother mother
[49:52][Music] [Laughter] one of the poets he describes the scene wonderfully he
[50:13]says that one day in the dream he saw imam al-hussein and
[50:18]imam al-hasan talking to each other he said i saw them talking
[50:21]to each other and i saw them both crying and crying he
[50:25]said i remembered some of the words that they were saying to
[50:28]each other what were they he said i saw imam al-hasan talking
[50:34]to imam al-hussein and he said to him is it fair my
[50:42]brother is it fair that they poisoned me but that they beheaded
[50:45]you is it fair my brother is it fair that they poisoned
[50:51]me but that they beheaded you is it fair my brother hassan
[51:04]is it fair that i have many zohar coming to visit me
[51:08]but there's none coming to visit you generated but there is empty
[51:12]tonight my dear brothers and sisters is it fair my brother is
[51:19]it fair that i have many so are coming to visit me
[51:23]but there's an honor to visit you is it fair is it
[51:27]fair my brother that i have a very on top of my
[51:32]grave and you have none on the top of you cause they
[51:36]destroyed his body they bombed that barrier they demolished genital bacteria is
[51:41]it fair my brother is it fair that i have a very
[51:45]on top of me and you have none on top of you
[51:50]is it fair my brother is it fair that i have a
[51:56]dome on top of me and you have a stone on top
[51:57]of you is it fair my brother is it fair that when
[52:04]my sword come to visit me they welcome them when they visit
[52:11]me but they push them away when they visit you allah the
[52:14]imams are aware of what we go through is it fair my
[52:20]brother is it fair that i have an alam on top of
[52:27]my dome and you have nothing on the top of you but
[52:30]look at the soft-heartedness look what imam al-hasan replies my brother hussain
[52:37]my brother hussain one day there'll be a time when people will
[52:44]come to visit me and zayn and all they'll be looking for
[52:55]is one thing what thing is it they'll be looking for the
[53:01]vibrations of a broken rib in a medina because for both of
[53:05]them that ribbon medina was what united the two of them for
[53:09]both of them it was extremely difficult but imagine for zayn upon
[53:14]a night like this but imagine zayn have been shame on a
[53:18]night like this no i said no hussain no i must come
[53:26]towards her and look after the night like this then what did
[53:29]she have the whips of shimmer binding ocean attacking her in the
[53:36]courts of sham horn let's raise our hands my dear brothers and
[53:45]sisters let's raise our hands with the tear that comes down oh
[53:49]son of shabib that tear that flows from your eye towards your
[53:53]cheek allah forgives the sins big small few or numerous many of
[53:58]us have numerous sins big sins ya allah with the tear that
[54:02]comes down from our eye remember that sin that you may have
[54:07]committed that you've always felt some guilt about jannatal restore it to
[54:26]his glory allah the originators of this medjlist allow them to continue
[54:29]in their service of muhammad and muhammad we pray to allah subhanahu
