I’m Blinded, Ya Askari | Sayed Ali Alhakeem | English Noha/Latmiya | أنا أعمى يالعسكري
An English latmiya/Noha for our 11th Imam, Imam Hasan al Askari a.s. A video depicting two young men, one who is trying to attend a Majlis yet finds no mosque doing an event for Imam al Askari a.s hence decides to hold a house Majlis.
After doing so, he tries to convince his friend to join yet he is hesitant. This video portrays the reality of how we treat our ‘forgotten Imams’, where often we don’t commemorate them and even when we do so only a few attend. Let’s break this habit and revive the remembrance of all our Imams.

Poem:
How have my eyes been so blinded
A beckon of light, A beam so bright, In my dark
Yet I turn away, in darkness I stay, I dwell so lost,
I’m so ashamed, I’m so disgraced, forgive me,
You were sent as aid, but I’m afraid, that I’ve swayed,
You know me but, I don’t know you, I am sorry Yal Hassan
How have my eyes been so blinded
Known for your knowledge, ever since, you were a child,
You’d seek the truth, falsehood you’d refuse, despite your age,
You learnt the words, of our prophet, with a smile,
And like the rasool, kindness would never, leave your heart,
You took his way, held it close from, the beginning yal Hassan
How have my eyes been so blinded
But this smile, oh son of the tenth, they despised,
So your rights, oh Askari, they denied
They unlike you, rejected, our Nabi,
Soon from them, only pain, you would see,
In Samarah, you’d face your fall, oh askari yal Hassan
How have my eyes been so blinded
Under house arrest, locked in by, the oppressors
No light to enter, your holy place, he demanded,
the enemy, stood in confusion, at what occurred
For no light entered, and yet all saw, light emerge,
Did he think his, men could block the, rays of the sun? Yal Hassan
How have my eyes been so blinded
I stand so frail, and take a step, toward the light,
My hand I reach out, to grasp this light,to sense your noor,
I slowly see, my darkness, disappear,
How have I lived, so distant from you, oh Imam,
How have my eyes, been so blinded, from your beauty yal Hassan
How have my eyes been so blinded
every sun must set, the poison you met, it was your time,
Soon you’d leave the world, and return to,
The sublime,
But though your sun set, we promise to, carry your torch,
And spread your knowledge, we promise that it, won’t be ignored,
We do pledge to, serve your dear son, in his mission yal Hassan
How have my eyes been so blinded
