[0:00]Allah [Laughter] [Music] foreign sometimes [Music] alhamdulillah foreign [Music] respected brothers and
[2:48]sisters as we are in the holy month of rajab we mentioned
[2:53]that there are several very important days during this holy month the
[2:59]month of rajab and from amongst those holy days According to some
[3:07]narrations the second of rajab is the birth of Imam and the
[3:14]third of rajab according to narrations is the martyrdom anniversary of Imam
[3:21]after 42 years lived for 42 years and his martyrdom was in
[3:32]the year 254 after Hijra that was one year before the birth
[3:39]of Imam Imam Al Mahdi was born in the year 255 after
[3:44]one year before the birth of Imam the grandfather of Imam is
[3:53]martyred he is poisoned and he passes away in the city of
[4:00]Samara and the mother of Imam al-hadi is a lady by the
[4:15]name of Samana Samana from Maghrib from Maghrib right now is Morocco
[4:21]it meant North Africa at that time when they say Maghrib they
[4:25]mean North Africa and this is a very important point that we
[4:32]need to understand and that is that many of the imams of
[4:37]the Salam their mothers they were not Arab they're mothers they were
[4:46]not from an Arab status from an Arab Community they came from
[4:51]other countries they were concubines they were freed slaves they were at
[4:56]that time there were many slaves in the society and community and
[5:01]they would bring them to the Muslim world and some people would
[5:04]mistreat them but the imams of the Island Bait they would marry
[5:07]them and they would see some of the women as fit to
[5:11]be the mother of the next Imam and this is the beauty
[5:16]of Islam my dear brothers and sisters in a time where people
[5:20]are judged by their status by the color of their skin by
[5:26]how much money they have the imams of the added baits they
[5:33]chose for the mother of their next Imam of the next child
[5:35]it could be a lady that comes from a non-arab society a
[5:42]lady that comes from a poor marginalized society and this is something
[5:46]that Islam teaches us verily the best in the eyes of Allah
[5:56]is the one that has the most the most piety Allah does
[5:58]not look at the color of your skin Allah does not look
[6:02]at your your wealth status how much money you have in your
[6:04]bank account maybe we judge people by that does not judge people
[6:12]by these measures and in a Hadith from Imam he says in
[6:23]this Dunya people are measured by how much wealth they have you
[6:30]measure whether someone is successful or Not by how much money they
[6:34]have accumulated how many how much assets they have and the akhara
[6:37]how is Allah going to judge people not by how much money
[6:43]you have Elon Musk and the poorest person they're going to be
[6:45]at the same level in the eyes of Allah by how many
[6:54]Deeds they have how many Good Deeds they have contributed that is
[6:57]how Allah will judge people so this is one point that we
[7:03]should know and you see even right now in America and some
[7:09]of the some of the societies that consider themselves they're civilized and
[7:14]they have wealth and they have so much they're still racism they're
[7:18]still bigotry people are judged by their wealth and people are judged
[7:21]by the color of their skin Islam teaches us that that is
[7:24]not how we judge people this is one point another very important
[7:27]Point regarding Imam and that Islam his Imam began at a very
[7:40]young age just like his father Imam al-jawad whose Imam began when
[7:43]Imam al-jawad was seven years old he was seven years old and
[7:48]he was in Imam Imam he was martyred and his son Imam
[7:51]al-jawad his only son Imam Jawad is seven years old same happened
[7:58]with Imam al-hadi Imam al-jawad was the youngest living Imam he died
[8:02]before he even turned 30.
[8:05]he was poisoned before he even turned 30.
[8:07]so he has a son Imam Imam his Imam began when he
[8:14]was eight years old he was eight years old and he's an
[8:16]Imam Imam of Muslims appointed by Allah some people they say how
[8:23]is that possible how could someone be a child and be an
[8:29]Imam at the same time the answer is if God has chosen
[8:31]someone if Allah chose someone to be the leader the Divine representative
[8:36]then it doesn't matter what age this person is Allah tells us
[8:39]in the Quran Jesus Jesus was a nebby he was a prophet
[8:45]he was a messenger and he was a newborn baby he come
[8:50]his mother she comes out she carries a newborn baby and he
[8:54]starts speaking to people I'm a prophet of God Jesus was a
[9:04]newborn baby similarly John the Baptist Allah says in the Quran he
[9:08]was a boy and he was a prophet of God is that
[9:12]possible if we believe in the Quran it's possible so if we
[9:17]accept it for Jesus and we accept it for yahyah then we
[9:20]have to also accept it for Imam al-jawad we accept it foreign
[9:30]is poisoned and he assumes the position of divine representation and Imam
[9:41]he was young so the caliph that poisoned Imam al-jawad in Baghdad
[9:51]I was in Medina and he sent a big scholar of the
[9:59]time by the name of el junaidi he tells him go and
[10:01]talk to this go and talk to him so that you could
[10:06]brainwash him let's make him be one of us let's let's sit
[10:12]and talk to him let's teach him so that he will be
[10:16]one of us instead of later on he comes and he says
[10:17]I'm I am an Imam and all of these things let's teach
[10:21]him let's brainwash him so junaidi this big scholar who used to
[10:25]go and sit with Imam alhadi he used to sit with him
[10:32]for a while then a while later the Khalifa he asks he
[10:37]tells him how's your student he tells him which student he says
[10:42]the student the one who I sent you the one who I
[10:46]sent you to guide him he tells him he's my teacher I
[10:50]am the student and he is the teacher he El junaidi this
[10:56]big scholar who used to go he used to go and sit
[11:01]with Imam until he became one of the top students of the
[11:04]of Imam alhaji and he is known as one of the scholars
[11:09]one of these Shia Scholars who was taught by Imam and this
[11:15]teaches us that the imama one of the most important foundations of
[11:20]divine leadership is what knowledge Allah gave knowledge Allah talks about the
[11:33]man who was of course according to narrations we say it's the
[11:37]Quran doesn't say it's Allah says there's two types of two types
[11:47]of knowledge there is the one that I have to go to
[11:49]school and learn and I Advance as much as I go to
[11:52]school and then there's a knowledge that is divine knowledge that Allah
[11:56]places in the hearts of certain individuals was a prophet a messenger
[12:02]of God he has to go this is in Surah he has
[12:07]to go and seek knowledge from this man who God has given
[12:09]him knowledge so we say the imams of their who they have
[12:15]that knowledge who they acquired from Allah Allah tells the prophet we
[12:25]taught you what you did not know Allah he taught Hussain and
[12:29]all of the imams this is knowledge that is passed on so
[12:35]why why do we pick someone as an Imam we pick someone
[12:38]as an Imam the one who's the Imam has to be the
[12:43]most knowledgeable person of the time this is why we believe the
[12:46]imams of the other bait they were the most knowledgeable during their
[12:50]time during the time was there someone more knowledgeable than Amir after
[12:57]rasulullah of course no one and this is something all Muslims accept
[13:01]even the Muslims who sayb is not the first he's the fourth
[13:05]they accept and they acknowledge that Amir was the most knowledgeable in
[13:12]fact there's narrations of the Khalifa The Leaders they admitted to the
[13:16]knowledge of Allah he says perished in another statement he says may
[13:29]Allah not keep me alive to face an obstacle that is not
[13:36]there to save us yes he did not have the official position
[13:41]of power but he used to guide the ummah through his knowledge
[13:48]Salaam his father passes away and the the Imam of Imam alhadi
[13:55]lasts for quite some time because he was eight years old and
[13:58]he passes away when he's 42.
[13:59]he's in Medina he lives the first 22 years of his life
[14:05]in Medina and the last 20 years Imam milhadi is forced to
[14:10]move along with his family and his children and the whole household
[14:14]they have to go and move and live in Samara why Imam
[14:22]alhaji encountered five Abbasi calops a um during the time also ruled
[14:44]for a long time he was a caliph well was known for
[14:50]his nasp for the Alan bait nasabi what is the nasabi nasubi
[14:53]means someone who hates the Allah someone who hates and the family
[15:02]of rasulullah subhanallah today when they describe they call him the reviver
[15:10]of the Sunnah did I'm gonna mention some of the crimes that
[15:14]this man did not mentioned in our books this is mentioned in
[15:20]the books of the general Muslim population al-mutawa killed four times he
[15:24]demolished the Dome of Imam al-hasana four times he demolished the grave
[15:31]of Imam and Hussein he brought the wise karmala called because he
[15:37]brought the river the Euphrates he changed the direction of the river
[15:41]to flood the grave of Imam and the river started revolving around
[15:45]the grave of Abdullah it became called because it confused the farat
[15:53]this happened during the time of kill he ordered for the zuar
[15:57]the visitors of Imam Hussain for their hands to be cut off
[15:59]for them to be killed and this is what happened this is
[16:03]exactly what he did he had a servant and this servant of
[16:20]his was a cross-dresser a junta someone who is um someone who
[16:24]basically like the drag queens that we see right now he had
[16:30]he had him next to him this man who used to put
[16:31]a pillow under his under his shirt make himself look like he
[16:36]has a big belly and he would go out and dancing in
[16:38]front of the people in the court of al-muchawakil acting like he
[16:43]is Imam Ali used to recite this this poem Muslim Khalifa has
[16:55]come he is referring to him this is this this is what
[17:02]a man who they call right now the reviver of he had
[17:10]deep-rooted hatred foreign there was a teacher a known scholar by the
[17:18]name of IBN sikit IBN one of the students of Imam even
[17:25]the kids used to teach the children of al-mutawakil he used to
[17:30]teach them and then Mutual didn't know he was Shia for some
[17:33]time then he heard rumors IBN sakit might have loyalty to the
[17:39]bait so he comes and he wants to ask him a question
[17:40]he tells them you see my two sons Who Do You Love
[17:46]More my two sons or Hassan and Hussein the grandsons of rasulullah
[17:54]this is a position of jihad sometimes Jihad is not always in
[18:00]the sword Jihad is not always with weapons sometimes it's the tongue
[18:03]that acts as a form of jihad IBN he said a statement
[18:07]that made him lose his life but that statement kept him until
[18:12]now he is remembered he tells him the sandals of kambar the
[18:18]servant of Ali abnabut are worth more than your sons he went
[18:25]crazy he went crazy and he punished IBN in a way where
[18:31]he brought his tongue out of the back of his neck that's
[18:33]how he killed him was one of the students of Imam now
[18:41]one of the things that did just like he politicized the hatred
[18:50]of Nabi Talib and he made the hatred of deep rooted in
[18:54]the faith one of the things that happened during the time of
[18:59]matawake Muslim all of these narrators of Hadith they lived during the
[19:06]time of mutawakin so imagine the Khalifa has deep-rooted hatred forth and
[19:11]he is providing money for the narrators of Hadith so how do
[19:14]you expect the books to come out how do you expect the
[19:18]books to come out when the Khalifa and the whole government is
[19:21]pressuring everyone to show hatred of Salaam now how would Imam Al
[19:31]Hadi deal with this kind of oppression deal with this kind of
[19:35]challenge despite the pressures despite living in Samara Samara was a asker
[19:42]it was a military compound he was forced to come this is
[19:47]why we call him not because they were in the military they
[19:53]call a person who's military they call this person Askari they were
[19:58]not in the military but they were living in a military Campground
[20:01]imagine a whole a city that is a Garrison town a military
[20:05]town and the imams they're there as prisoners and it was the
[20:11]capital of the Abbasi government despite all of these pressures he managed
[20:16]to teach people the love of the Elizabeth he sees one of
[20:22]his companions he tells him go and pray for me next to
[20:26]the grave of Imam Hussain at that time they were he's trying
[20:37]to teach people don't let go of the ziara of Imam Hussein
[20:42]he teaches people how to perform the ziara you know we have
[20:45]Dua and we have ziara Dua it teaches you who God is
[20:50]teaches you how to speak to God it makes you have greater
[20:53]marathah and Allah and the Beautiful duas are the duas of the
[20:57]Elizabeth we also have ziara ziara is getting to know the Imam
[21:05]of our time getting to know our leaders because if you know
[21:08]your leaders you'll be able to differentiate between who is the real
[21:13]Khalifa of rasulullah because now we live in a time where everyone
[21:19]calls themselves Khalifa rasulullah he calls himself he calls himself Khalifa rasulullah
[21:27]a few years ago Isis they had Abu Bakr al-baghdadi he was
[21:30]calling himself Khalifa rasulullah so how are you supposed to know who
[21:34]is the real Khalifa of rasulullah from the fake ones from the
[21:38]pseudo Khalifa you know that from the imams of the Ahmed they
[21:44]have the knowledge they have the merits and Imam Imam al-hadi one
[21:50]of his companions he goes to him he tells him one of
[22:01]the companions of Imam al-hadi he tells him I want you to
[22:05]teach me eloquent and it is complete it is well-rounded that I
[22:11]say when I visit any one of you so this is not
[22:15]a specific ziara of Imam Hussain it's not a specific Imam Ali
[22:19]it's not a specific one it's a ziara for all the masumin
[22:22]which the other is this foreign he tells him when you go
[22:44]to visit any of the graves of any one of us you
[22:48]say you have to be in Russia be in the state of
[22:49]Russell in the state of Purity and then you say the shahada
[22:56]and then as you approach the grave say Allahu Akbar 30 times
[23:02]and then you get closer say Allahu Akbar another 30 times and
[23:06]then once you stand above the grave say Allahu Akbar 40 times
[23:13]a total of a hundred and then you begin by saying continues
[23:29]explaining why does the Imam tell him when you go say the
[23:33]ziara say the shahad detain and say Allahu Akbar 100 times so
[23:37]that no one confuses that you're worshiping the Imam so that you
[23:43]first said you glorify God you say about a hundred times and
[23:49]then you begin to say the ziara now the Imam despite living
[23:57]in these harsh conditions fulfilled his duty and he taught the Shia
[24:03]and he passed on it was really difficult for the followers of
[24:08]the imams of the to come to the imams and learn from
[24:10]the imams but the imams they set up a method the method
[24:15]of letters the method of having a representative and this was passed
[24:19]on during the time of Alaska and until the time of Imam
[24:23]almadu where he had ambassadors and deputies speaking on his behalf one
[24:27]day Mama Hadi in the middle of the night Imam al-hadi is
[24:33]worshiping he's praying in his home and suddenly there's a knocker on
[24:38]the door the Army the whole military they've come to arrest Imam
[24:43]they they have received they receive news that the Imam is trying
[24:49]to make a movement against them they come and they see qurans
[24:52]in the house of the Imam there's nothing and the Imam is
[24:54]worshiping and another every few days they would come they would try
[25:00]to arrest the Imam and take him to the Khalifa one day
[25:03]in the middle of the night they come and they take the
[25:04]Imam and the Imam is busy praying and worshiping they take him
[25:11]to the Khalifa This is the time during the time of kill
[25:14]they take him there he enters and he sees everyone is sitting
[25:20]around the Khalifa and they're all drunk and the Khalifa the man
[25:24]who claims to be the caliph of the Prophet is drinking is
[25:28]drunk and he tells them Imam and they're all laughing he tells
[25:33]him here have a have a drink with us have a drink
[25:35]with us now some people don't find that insulting but when when
[25:39]you say that to a man who is the grandson of the
[25:44]Prophet who has never touched and never been around this that is
[25:47]a deep insult for that person he says this has never been
[25:56]mixed with my blood and my and my flesh meaning this is
[26:00]not who I am so then he tells him then I want
[26:06]you to sing for us I want you to entertain us I'm
[26:08]not a singer I'm not a poet he tells him you have
[26:14]to recite he's drunk he tells them you have to recite something
[26:17]he said words of poetry that transformed the whole majlis they were
[26:23]having fun it was party it was only thinking of Dunya the
[26:26]Imam salaam he moved them to another realm through the words of
[26:32]poetry he began to say these famous words of poetry [Applause] he
[26:43]said describing those people who they're living on the hills and their
[26:48]separation between them and between the masses and the poor people but
[26:55]none of that protected them none of that helped them after living
[27:05]in the palace in the comfort of the palace the regards separating
[27:09]them from the people they have to carry this person and they
[27:14]place them where and a grave in the ground in a hole
[27:19]in the ground was then someone will call them they will receive
[27:36]a call after they're in their grave where is the beauty where
[27:41]is the jewelry where are the guards where the Palaces where is
[27:44]all of that that you're accumulating in this Dunya hello where are
[27:55]the faces that were so soft it would not see sunlight other
[28:02]people did not have the right to see these faces there's no
[28:14]answer answer that that does not talk but the grave speaks when
[28:20]you go and you look at a grave that grave is speaking
[28:21]to you what is the grave telling us when we look at
[28:26]the grave Allah these faces that had the best lotion the best
[28:36]cream no one was allowed to see them now you see the
[28:39]worms walking on these cheeks this is the grave telling me don't
[28:44]be arrogant this is the grave telling me don't be too proud
[28:47]of what you have accumulated all of the wealth one day this
[28:50]is how you will become their whole life the whole life you're
[29:07]eating and drinking now after this long meal that you are having
[29:11]now who has become the meal you have become the meal of
[29:18]the worms the lowest creatures on Earth when the Imam told him
[29:24]this he was drunk but he began to cry his beard became
[29:27]wet from the tears he began to cry he sent the Imam
[29:34]back and then they say that his son he ordered for his
[29:39]assassination attempt he did not rule for very long and then Imam
[29:47]I will end here to go to the next time Muhammad Rahim
[30:13]alhamdulillah alhamdulillah subscribe foreign Muhammad Muhammad Muhammad Ali Muhammad come out I
[31:28]mean foreign my dear brothers and sisters yesterday we heard of a
[32:13]tragic sudden death in the Canton and Plymouth High School here of
[32:18]a student who's a senior and apparently the student is a Muslim
[32:24]and the schools they issued an email stating they don't know the
[32:32]cause of the death and it's a sudden death now we don't
[32:35]know exactly what happened but there's a reality that's been going on
[32:39]that we are hearing of far too often and this is sad
[32:45]and this is that you hear a sudden death of a young
[32:51]man a young girl high school college student suddenly they passed away
[32:56]and no one knows what happened and everyone says and then they
[32:59]go on to their life they go they live their life as
[33:03]if nothing has happened my dear brothers and sisters when we hear
[33:07]of this far too often probably every month we're hearing of this
[33:14]or every few weeks you hear of this this should raise some
[33:19]alarms this should make us ask why is this happening why is
[33:22]this happening in the Muslim communities is it a mental health problem
[33:27]if it's a mental health problem we have to address it we
[33:29]have to talk about it why is talking about and addressing mental
[33:33]health problems a taboo in our communities why is it that we
[33:39]don't deal with our problems if I have heart problem I go
[33:41]to the doctor if I have kidney problems I go to the
[33:45]doctor but if someone is suffering from depression if someone is suffering
[33:49]from Stress and Anxiety we have to talk about it we have
[33:51]to deal with it and as a Muslim Community as a mosque
[33:57]as individuals we have to deal with these issues my dear brothers
[34:00]and sisters we have to remove the stigma from talking about these
[34:04]problems that are taking away our youth that are taking away our
[34:10]children that are taking away people that we know mental health problems
[34:14]it's a it's a it's a problem the Allah is testing people
[34:18]with go and find the solution go and find proper treatment go
[34:25]and discuss it this could be a suicide we don't know now
[34:28]suicide is not acceptable in Islam but of course there are some
[34:35]people they're going through serious mental health issues where there's a chemical
[34:37]imbalance in their head that allows them to live in such darkness
[34:43]that makes them go and take their life away but there are
[34:46]solutions my dear brothers and sisters you should not be alone you
[34:49]should not suffer alone you should not go through these problems alone
[34:53]seek a treatment and communities especially the Muslim communities should not make
[34:59]it a stigma should not make it a taboo topic to talk
[35:03]about and seeking treatment should not be a problem everyone should go
[35:07]and seek a treatment if they're suffering from a problem another point
[35:11]my dear brothers and sisters this could be from drugs intoxicants there's
[35:16]a lot of people they start taking these narcotics they start taking
[35:22]these drugs which become an addiction and it ends up destroying your
[35:26]life if you want to get married in the future it ends
[35:30]up destroying any relationship you have if you want to work it's
[35:33]not going to allow you to work it's not going to allow
[35:36]you to live a stable life we should teach ourselves and we
[35:42]should teach our community members our children to stay away from all
[35:46]narcotics stay away from all of these things and another point my
[35:51]dear brothers and sisters is the role of religion in our lives
[35:54]religion plays a very significant role in our lives we see many
[36:00]people they neglect religion they ignore religion they don't show face at
[36:05]the Masjid they don't come and pray and then when they have
[36:07]a problem they come and they say I was I was afflicted
[36:10]with this problem the Masjid prayer building a community making friends who
[36:17]are in the same Faith same belief as you this is not
[36:22]only healthy for your akhara this is healthy for your Dunya as
[36:25]well have good friends associate with good people associate with people who
[36:30]are on the same track as you same mindset same belief as
[36:33]you and this is what the role of a Masjid should be
[36:35]my dear brothers and sisters if you've noticed a lot of the
[36:40]programs that we do here they're non-traditional programs tomorrow today inshallah 4
[36:46]30 PM we put out a flyer there is uh going sledding
[36:48]go have fun with the Muslim Community go and have fun with
[36:54]people who are from your age people who are from your belief
[36:56]people who you pray with this is how we create strength in
[36:58]ourselves and in our youth focus on family building focus on the
[37:05]community because the community will help you the community will give you
[37:10]strength and above all Allah will give you strength Allah will give
[37:13]you the Iman Allah will allow you to deal with challenges no
[37:15]matter how difficult the challenge is if you have Allah then you
[37:22]will be able to survive inshallah Imam he says he says when
[37:36]I Remember You My Heart thrives and when I have the munajat
[37:43]with Allah I have removed all of the pain in my heart
[37:46]why because Allah says verily it is through the remembrance of Allah
[37:54]the hearts will find peace that's not the only solution now someone
[38:00]might say say it's saying that's the only oh I said you
[38:02]seek proper treatment you have a strong Community relationship family relationship and
[38:08]above all a relationship with Allah this is one point I wanted
[38:14]to mention another Point as we heard in the news yesterday that
[38:18]the Israeli forces they attacked a refugee camp in Palestine a refugee
[38:23]camp in the occupied territory Janine and nine people were killed now
[38:29]imagine people they're kicked out of their own homes they have to
[38:34]live in a refugee camp which is just miles away from where
[38:37]they were living where their ancestors live they're living in a refugee
[38:43]camp and that refugee camp is attacked why because of the Prejudice
[38:49]and the hatred and this is something that needs to also be
[38:54]addressed today you look at the media 24-hour coverage of Ukraine if
[38:58]any country in the world there's a problem there's something going on
[39:02]the government is oppressing the people right away you see coverage you
[39:07]see politicians they talk about it where do you see the media
[39:10]where do you see politicians talking about the apartheid that's taking place
[39:15]in Israel where do you see the media discuss the oppression of
[39:19]the Palestinians you don't see it discussed and this shows you the
[39:24]double standards that go on as Believers we have to be aware
[39:28]and we have to be alert and we have to speak out
[39:29]against the Injustice that is going on no matter who is committing
[39:36]the Injustice we ask Allah to bless all of them we ask
[39:42]Allah for the protection of the Muslims and all of the oppressed
[39:45]all over the world foreign
