[2:38]all knowing from the accursed Satan in the name of God the

[2:44]most merciful the most compassionate or praise is due to God the

[2:48]first before creation and life and the last after the annihilation of

[2:55]all things he is the all knowing who does not forget those

[3:00]who remember him does not diminish the reward of those who thank

[3:04]him does not disappoint those who call upon him and does not

[3:11]sever the hope of those who place their trust in him I

[3:15]bear witness that there is no deity but God Alone with no

[3:21]partner and I bear witness that Muhammad sallallah alai wasam is a

[3:27]servant and messenger he sent him with guidance and the religion of

[3:31]truth to make it Prevail over all religions even though the polytheists

[3:35]May dislike it oh God send your blessings and your peace upon

[3:40]Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and bless Muhammad and the family

[3:47]of Muhammad and have mercy on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

[3:51]in the best way that you have sent blessings mowed blessings and

[3:57]showed mercy upon ibraim and the family of Abraham indeed you are

[4:02]praiseworthy glorious and you do what you will Servants of God I

[4:09]advise you and myself to be mindful of God the almighty to

[4:12]follow his commands and to avoid his prohibitions Today We Gather on

[4:21]this wonderful day which is the day of Friday the prophet sallallah

[4:25]alai wasam had described this day to be the master of all

[4:28]days when he says that there's a master of days it means

[4:34]that there's a difference in rank and a difference in quality of

[4:38]these days not every day is equal to the other day some

[4:43]days God had made special more special than the other days even

[4:47]though all days belong to God but Friday is a special day

[4:52]that God had created for us in order for us to be

[4:55]able to excel towards him to get closer to him to gain

[5:01]proximity to him he made this day distinguishable in order for us

[5:04]to be able to use it and utilize it as a point

[5:10]in our week to review ourselves to revise our week this day

[5:16]in one of the duas that we have from the IMs we

[5:21]ask Allah subhana wa tala to forgive our sins on this day

[5:24]that we have committed in the previous days of this week so

[5:27]everybody can have a certain type of station in their week every

[5:33]day you put your prayer times as a time to review yourself

[5:36]what do you do throughout the day from the morning to the

[5:41]noon to noon to night time and then you have a weekly

[5:43]revision of yourself Friday is that day where you have to sit

[5:48]down and think to yourself what did I do in the previous

[5:50]days of this week how was this week different from the previous

[5:56]weeks of my life Friday is that day where you sit down

[5:58]and you account your yourself and you think about this and you

[6:04]contemplate over it you don't treat this day like any other day

[6:06]of the week and in order for Allah subhah wa ta'ala to

[6:12]encourage us to do this he said that on this day if

[6:14]you do a good deed I will multiply these Deeds for you

[6:17]and if you ask for forgiveness I will forgive you on this

[6:20]day more than I will forgive you on any other day so

[6:24]it's very important for us to take advantage of this day to

[6:26]understand his sacredness to understand his holiness even though we are facing

[6:33]a lot of challenges by living in a country that is Western

[6:36]in the sense that it doesn't carry religion as is public religion

[6:39]so we have challenges it's not a holiday if you live in

[6:44]a country that is Islamic or at least the society is Islamic

[6:46]then Friday would be a day off and you would be able

[6:51]to dedicate more time to these things but because we live in

[6:54]a country that doesn't observe Friday as a holiday it becomes more

[7:01]challenging people still it's a work day and not only a work

[7:03]day it's the last day of the week of the work week

[7:07]so most people are tired they're exhausted they just want to relax

[7:11]on this day so we have to understand that Allah subhana tala

[7:16]looks at us in a different way over here as opposed to

[7:18]how he looks at the Muslims who are living in a country

[7:22]where Friday is their day off we read a Hadi about what

[7:24]we have to do on Friday and we might think that it's

[7:28]overwhelming that we have a lot of shortcomings but we shouldn't view

[7:31]the matter in this way we have to understand that the circumstances

[7:34]over here are very different than the circumstances where Muslims were able

[7:39]to perform their proper rights the fact that we're able to take

[7:42]breaks from our work sometimes to come to Friday prayer is a

[7:48]big blessing for us attending Friday prayer here is much greater in

[7:52]the eyes of Allah subhana tal than attending it in a country

[7:54]where Friday is a holiday Allah multiplies your efforts multiplies your rewards

[8:00]on this day because you're putting in extra effort you're doing something

[8:04]that's against the norm over here so we have to be able

[8:09]to look at this and take advantage of it focus on the

[8:11]quality of our work on this day I might not be able

[8:15]to read a lot of Quran on this day there's a lot

[8:18]of suras that are must chapters that are must to recite on

[8:21]Friday I might not be able to do them like for example

[8:26]multiple chapters that it's recommended for us to recite I might not

[8:29]be able to do that but maybe if I recite the small

[8:33]chapter Allah subhana tala would regard that as something greater than reciting

[8:37]the whole of the Quran as well because I'm putting in that

[8:43]extra effort in a time where I'm unable to practice this properly

[8:53]the prophet Sall alai wasam says indeed Friday is the master of

[9:00]days God the Almighty Mighty multiplies Good Deeds on this day erases

[9:06]sins elevates ranks answers supplications removes hardships and fulfills great needs it

[9:17]is the day of increase on this day God frees many people

[9:22]from Hellfire from Punishment No one who recognizes his sanctity and observes

[9:28]its rights calls upon God except that it becomes incumbent upon God

[9:32]the almighty to make them among the freed ones and those pardoned

[9:37]from Hellfire and of course we take alire here to mean what

[9:42]it means in the broader sense meaning that inner spiritual state that

[9:46]we have as well a person may be living a state of

[9:51]Hellfire In This Moment not necessarily having to receive it in the

[9:54]Hereafter if I'm someone who's suffering from mistakes in my life if

[9:59]I'm living a miserable life if I'm a person who people cannot

[10:05]stand I harm people I I commit uh I cause pain onto

[10:06]other people then I'm a person who's living in this state of

[10:12]of Hellfire this is an internal dark state that I'm living in

[10:15]so if You observe the sanctity of this day you respect this

[10:17]day and you use this as a day to to review yourself

[10:22]you think to yourself okay the past week I haven't really achieved

[10:26]much on my spir on the spiritual level I haven't done much

[10:32]I haven't done enough Good Deeds I haven't been kind enough to

[10:35]people so what do I do I make a pledge to myself

[10:40]starting on Friday I will change that there is someone maybe I

[10:44]have to check on I haven't called enough friends to make sure

[10:48]that they're okay because the bond between the community is very important

[10:51]in Islam you have to always check on your brothers and your

[10:54]sisters always ask about them if you haven't done that in the

[10:59]past week you've been too busy you've neglected it on Friday you

[11:02]remind yourself is there someone that I have to check on is

[11:04]there someone that I have to ask about and you go through

[11:07]your phone and you find people random people that you know and

[11:10]you try to call them you try to change that because sometimes

[11:12]your brother or your sister if they receive a phone call from

[11:17]you that's unexpected that relieves them from a lot of pain and

[11:20]suffering and makes their day much different that someone has remembered them

[11:24]that someone cares about them that's very meaningful to individuals so on

[11:29]this level review yourself on the level of your family have you

[11:33]taken your family out out have you spent enough time with your

[11:37]children have you spent enough time with your spouse have you done

[11:40]good for them this week did you make this week better than

[11:42]the week before in their life because imami told us that any

[11:51]person's tomorrow or today that is is worse than yesterday is a

[11:54]person who's cursed or a person who's at loss you should always

[11:58]look to progress in your life not only on a personal level

[12:01]but also on a familial level to move forward with your family

[12:05]if your family is not improving then there's something wrong with you

[12:10]as a Muslim you improve your personal life and you improve your

[12:14]familiar life as well so you see you review yourself did I

[12:16]not do something last week did I not move forward with my

[12:20]family did I not um give them something that creates that change

[12:24]inside of them that makes them happier and more comfortable you pledge

[12:27]that on this day I'm going to create this change I'm going

[12:31]to make next week a better week for them and for myself

[12:35]as well so inshallah we ask Allah subhana tala to grant us

[12:38]this blessing to be able to utilize this day not only for

[12:40]praying and having rituals done but also to practically implement the teachings

[12:45]of Islam in our lives so that we may improve our lives

[12:51]on every single level and in every single aspect in our lives

[12:59]one praise be to God for that which he bestowed upon us

[13:51]and thanks be to him for all that which he inspired and

[13:57]Commendation be upon him for that which he provided from the prevalent

[14:05]bounties which he created and the perfect gifts which he presented and

[14:10]the complete grants which he offered such bounties that their number is

[14:15]much too plentiful to compute and to grasp them is too difficult

[14:22]and to perceive them is too impossible he invited his servants to

[14:27]thankfulness for their continuity and ordained himself praiseworthy by giving bounties to

[14:35]his creatures I bear witness that there is no God but God

[14:39]alone without a partner a statement which sincere devotion is made to

[14:45]be its interpretation guaranteed continuance is made to be its exact meaning

[14:52]and hearts are made be illuminated by its professing he who cannot

[14:59]be perceived with vision neither be described with tongues and cannot be

[15:05]imagined by imagination I that there is no God but God and

[15:11]that Muhammad S is his messenger and the Seal of the prophets

[15:15]and the master of Messengers oh Allah send your blessings upon Muhammad

[15:21]s the Seal of the prophets and the master of Messengers and

[15:27]send your blessings oh Lord upon Ali the commander of the faithful

[15:31]and upon fatimat zah the lady of the wom of the worlds

[15:34]and upon alassan and Al Hussein the masters of the Youth of

[15:40]paradise oh God send your blessings upon the imams of the Muslims

[15:45]Ali Hussein Muhammad Ali Muhammad Al Muhammed Ali Al Muhammad alass Ali

[15:53]and the waited Al may Allah hasten his reappearance ease his emergence

[15:58]and make us a among his supporters and helpers during these days

[16:09]we remember the prophet s's daughter the the master of the woman

[16:21]of the world and those of in Paradise she was such a

[16:24]special figure not only in the life of the prophet and in

[16:28]the eyes of the Prophet sallallahu alai wasallam but he made sure

[16:32]that the Muslims also observe her sanctity also understand her status she

[16:38]was not a normal person amongst the people she was an individual

[16:42]that was not only raised by the prophet to the highest of

[16:47]Standards but she was someone who applied all the teachings of in

[16:55]her life she lived the life of the Prophet to the point

[16:58]that his wife Aisha had said that she had never seen anyone

[17:05]who resembled the prophet even in the form of his walking like

[17:09]fatim had resembled she was so attached to her father so devoted

[17:14]to him and the religion which was sent with him that even

[17:19]his physical appearance and his physical movements were sacred to her she

[17:24]imitated him in every action that he performed faam didn't live for

[17:31]a very long life even though we're celebrating her birthday but she

[17:36]didn't manage to live for much longer after her Prophet sallallahu alai

[17:40]her father's demise we have in our Hadith that when the prophet

[17:44]sallallahu alai wasam began to become sick that illness that was supposed

[17:52]to end his life in this world ftim was called by him

[17:54]to go and listen to him he wanted to whisper a secret

[17:57]to him to her so AA was sitting there and she looked

[18:04]at Fatima and she said that he whispered to her something that

[18:08]made her cry and saddened and after a moment he said something

[18:12]else to her that brought joy to her heart after the prophet

[18:18]or the F had moved away from the prophet had asked what

[18:22]did the prophet tell you and she said that I'm not a

[18:27]person who reveals others Secrets this is a secret that told me

[18:30]that I cannot reveal to you but after the prophet's demise AA

[18:37]asked the asked one more time she told him now she told

[18:39]her now that the prophet had departed from this world if you

[18:43]can just reveal to me what he said to you on that

[18:45]day and she said that the first time when he whispered to

[18:51]me he mentioned to me that he's going to be departing from

[18:53]this world very soon so that saddened me and it broke my

[18:57]heart and I was crying for that reason as for the reason

[19:02]for why I became joyful it's because he told me that I

[19:06]will be the first individual from his family that will be following

[19:12]after him saw refuge in she lived at a time where she

[19:16]experienced the changes in the society the struggles that her father went

[19:20]through he brought Islam to them to elevate them from those lower

[19:26]levels of humanity and behavior that the people have had at that

[19:30]time time they were killing each other they were going after worldly

[19:33]gains it was just a materialistic Outlook people had forgotten God forgotten

[19:39]religion forgotten spirituality and the prophet was given this message in order

[19:45]to awaken the people once more and there's a lot of parallels

[19:48]between that time and the times that we are living now such

[19:50]that religion does exist the Arabs at that time were not people

[19:55]of no religion it's not that they were secular or they were

[19:58]atheists no they were worshippers for the most part they belonged to

[20:02]the Christian religion to the Jewish religion to the abrahamic religion uh

[20:05]Hinduism Buddhism all of these different religions existed amongst the Arabs it's

[20:10]not that they were non-religious individuals so having religion isn't the objective

[20:17]to have a large quantity of Muslims is not the objective there

[20:23]were plenty of religious individuals plenty of Muslims during zam's time and

[20:29]the prophet's time the problem was they had neglected God neglected the

[20:33]true teachings of those religions they moved so far away from the

[20:37]core of religion that on the outside they might have resembled religious

[20:41]individuals but internally they were rotten they were so far away from

[20:47]Allah subhah wa ta'ala and had reminded these individuals after the demise

[20:53]ofam that it didn't take much for much time after his demise

[20:59]for youth to turn around against what he brought you it was

[21:02]very quick that you turned around you began fighting over political positions

[21:06]he began fighting over worldly gains as if the prophet came and

[21:11]sacrificed all his life and the companions who had sacrifice their lives

[21:15]and their times and their energy and their money for this message

[21:20]all of that went for no reason it had no value to

[21:22]you guys so s was a person who after purifying her own

[21:29]self and understanding the message ofam she continued that message of the

[21:34]prophet and a very famous sermon that she gave was the sermon

[21:41]of fed anybody can go online and look up the sermon it's

[21:44]such a beautiful sermon where describes to these individuals these Muslims who

[21:49]claim to be Muslims who claims to be followers of Allah that

[21:52]you were claiming to be his supporters but as soon as he

[21:57]died you turned around against him you departed from his teachings and

[22:04]then she came to remind them that my father came with this

[22:06]message Allah subhana had given him this message in order to reform

[22:09]you individuals you were in darkness and my father had taken you

[22:16]out of that into light you were living in an evil State

[22:18]and my father came with his message of Allah to put you

[22:23]in a good state to elevate you to make you human beings

[22:25]to make you decent individuals but just because he does that or

[22:29]he did that it doesn't mean that you become decent individual the

[22:35]prophet can only give the message as Allah subh in the Quran

[22:38]repeatedly tells the prophet that you cannot force the change upon people

[22:42]you're only a messenger to them you bring the message but the

[22:46]people have to make that choice themselves so she reminds these individuals

[22:50]who lived with the prophet amongst the prophet listen to The Prophet

[22:54]directly that he brought to you prayer for a certain reason you

[23:01]brought to you fasting for a certain reason he brought to you

[23:03]all these rituals and all these prayers and all these duties religious

[23:07]duties in order to have an effect on yourself you don't come

[23:14]to Salat just to to perform a ritual and go home it's

[23:16]not like that Salat is supposed to have an effect on you

[23:22]it's supposed to change you Salat is there to make you closer

[23:24]to God if your Salat is not bringing you closer to God

[23:28]then there's something wrong with your prayer this is something that you

[23:31]have to review you have to look into yourself and see why

[23:34]isn't prayer changing me internally if you're fasting that fast should have

[23:38]an effect on you a person who has a fast in his

[23:42]year like Shah Ramadan or fast throughout the year on other days

[23:46]should realize that internal change inside of him or her if from

[23:52]one Ramadan to the next Ramadan we don't find that change in

[23:55]ourselves then we have to understand that we're doing this but we're

[23:59]not benefiting from it we're not achieving the goal that Allah subhana

[24:03]wants from us so had revealed to the people and informed them

[24:08]that the reason why you have turned against my father and his

[24:12]teachings is because whatever he brought to you did not pass the

[24:18]surface of your behavior and actions until prayer becomes something internal and

[24:22]in your heart only then would it make a change your relationship

[24:25]with God should be a sincere relationship not a relationship based on

[24:29]benefits a lot of different people at that time the Quran talks

[24:33]about certain individuals that belong to other religions they had a transactional

[24:38]relationship with God they told God that we'll only pray for you

[24:44]if you give us so and so we'll only believe in your

[24:47]message if you send us a different Angel other than Gabriel if

[24:52]you send us mik for example Allah the Quran tells these individuals

[24:56]that if you don't like the messenger that I choose the angel

[25:01]that I choose then you have a problem with me not with

[25:05]the messenger so as Muslims as Believers as individuals who claim to

[25:10]be followers of this religion we have to make sure that we

[25:13]honor the prophet and honor s in this sense by understanding that

[25:19]the sacrifices that they made to give us this message was to

[25:22]elevate us as human beings to create this internal change inside of

[25:25]us so that we become decent human beings that's the lowest level

[25:31]is decency and on top of that that we progress spiritually and

[25:34]get close to Allah subhana wa taala I ask Allah to grant

[25:37]us this to realize the reason why religion was revealed and to

[25:43]be able to apply this reason in our lives to move forward

[25:46]spiritually physically and on every level what
