[2:12]sisters I congratulate you all on the auspicious occasion on the birth

[2:18]of Fatima Salaam the leader of the woman of the worlds the

[2:25]leader of the woman of paradise the daughter of the prophet and

[2:34]the mother of the progeny of rasulullah who her birth brought so

[2:39]much joy to rasulullah after years of being critical and assaulted and

[2:48]harassed where the mushrakin were calling the prophet aptar meaning someone who

[2:53]does not have a progeny Allah gave Fatima as a gift from

[3:01]Heaven to rasulullah she was born on the 20th of jamadition five

[3:07]years into the Batha of rasulullah my dear brothers and sisters when

[3:17]we analyze the life of Fatima we see that Fatima salaam had

[3:25]something that every single individual wishes to have and that is happiness

[3:31]was content with what Allah had given her she didn't have the

[3:42]best of what people want but she was happy with what she

[3:48]had today if you ask people all over the world go and

[3:53]travel and talk to different people ask them what do you want

[3:59]in life what is it that you wish to attain in life

[4:01]you will see that everyone is United everyone concludes that they want

[4:12]happiness every single person wishes to attain happiness some people they think

[4:18]that they will attain happiness through wealth so they go after the

[4:23]wealth some people think that they will attain happiness through Power others

[4:29]through Fame others through luxury and buying a new set of couches

[4:35]every year a new car every year moving into a new house

[4:39]everyone has the same goal in mind the end goal is the

[4:46]same it's happiness but people they have different methods of trying to

[4:50]reach that happiness that goal that they all want some people they

[4:56]think that that happiness is only attained through Dunya only attained through

[5:03]material Goods through wealth through property through having materialistic things in this

[5:10]Dunya some people think that that is the only means to happiness

[5:14]and Allah tells us in the Quran that that is not the

[5:20]only way to happiness some people they only go after the Dunya

[5:34]they only seek power and wealth and satisfaction in this Dunya but

[5:42]in the in the afterlife they don't have happiness some people they're

[5:48]not farsighted they're nearsighted in their mission maybe they're a very good

[5:54]planner maybe they know how to plan businesses they know how to

[5:58]plan finances everything but they only look so far ahead they only

[6:02]look for this Dunya they don't plan for the akhara well I

[6:06]mean they don't have a good afterlife and then Allah says and

[6:28]there's another segment of people they say no I want Hassan I

[6:34]want a good life and I want a good afterlife and I

[6:36]want to be saved from the Hellfire see there's two perspectives there's

[6:42]the perspective of those who are focused only on Dunya and there's

[6:46]the Islamic perspective which tells you take the Dunya take the Dunya

[6:50]but don't take the Dunya at the expense of the akhara use

[6:54]this Dunya to build the afterlife those are the people who will

[7:07]be those who receive the naseeb of what they receive they will

[7:11]attain the happiness they will attain their goal and this my dear

[7:15]brothers and sisters is a very important lesson that the Quran offers

[7:18]us Hadith from Imam he says he says o youth is talking

[7:41]to the youth he tells them I want you to seek the

[7:48]akhara the afterlife because we saw people who sought the afterlife Allah

[7:54]gave them the Dunya and the afterlife and then he says but

[8:00]I've never seen someone who only focuses on Dunya they got the

[8:06]we've seen people who seek the afterlife Allah gives them Dunya and

[8:10]afterlife but we've never seen someone who's only focused on Dunya and

[8:13]they receive the afterlife this is a very important lesson from Imam

[8:18]now my dear brothers and sisters when we look at Fatima lived

[8:24]for only 18 years 18 years she had the keys to happiness

[8:34]she had the keys to satisfaction where Allah was pleased with her

[8:38]she was pleased with God and society and people all around her

[8:42]the they loved her everyone felt the love from Fatima alaihissalam and

[8:49]this is something that we should learn we all want happiness you

[8:54]see that despite living a short life she attained that goal so

[8:59]who should I follow as a role model Someone who lived a

[9:04]long life and did not attain that goal or someone who perhaps

[9:06]lived a short life but attained the goal that we all want

[9:10]the goal of happiness foreign what are some key points key elements

[9:20]in the life of this honorable lady that we could follow as

[9:23]an example that brought her to happiness one my dear brothers and

[9:26]sisters is to be connected with God if you are connected with

[9:34]Allah then you have the keys of satisfaction then you have the

[9:38]keys of Happiness Allah says oh you people who believe remember Allah

[9:49]have the thicker of Allah on the tip of your tongue was

[9:54]and glorify Allah day and night Allah is the one who blesses

[10:11]you Allah is the one who will give you happiness Allah is

[10:14]the one who will give you the rahma the mercy so have

[10:18]the thicker of Allah on the tip of your tongue go and

[10:21]look at Fatima is always remembering Allah she always had the thicker

[10:29]of Allah in fact one of the greatest legacies has left for

[10:35]us is what we do after every prayer Fatima in a beautiful

[10:51]Hadith he says a man from benissa he asks he tells him

[10:56]tell me about your life with Fatima many years ago he lived

[11:53]to grind the wheat until her hands became rough and she cleaned

[12:04]the house until her clothes became Dusty and she lit the fire

[12:15]under the under the pot until her clothes were affected by the

[12:20]fire on so obviously any person who does all of these house

[12:28]work is going to feel the pain and the heart and the

[12:33]hurt so it says why don't you I tell her I mean

[12:43]he says I told Fatima why don't you go to rasulullah and

[12:45]ask him for help rasulullah he's the he's the leader he's a

[12:49]prophet he's the head of state go and ask him for help

[12:58]but the prophet was always surrounded by people it was always surrounded

[13:51]father she was embarrassed embarrassed her own father for help he says

[13:59]she carries the water impacts her she lights the fire she cleans

[14:05]the house she sweeps she came I told her to come and

[14:07]ask you for a help can I teach you something that is

[14:27]better than having a help a servant and a maid in the

[14:29]house so he says it says when you go to sleep say

[14:44]Allahu Akbar 34 times say alhamdulillah 33 times and say Subhan Allah

[14:49]33 times she brought her head out and she said I am

[15:02]satisfied with what God has given me and I am satisfied with

[15:08]what rasulullah gave me my dear brothers and sisters if you go

[15:11]and you ask someone for help you tell them I need help

[15:15]and they tell you say Allahu Akbar 34 times say alhamdulillah 33

[15:17]times and say subhanallah 33 times what would our reaction be we

[15:22]would probably get insulted we would probably get upset how could you

[15:28]tell me this I'm asking for help Fatima could have lived a

[15:33]wealthy life but she says I'm satisfied with what God has given

[15:35]me and I'm satisfied with what rasulullah had given me Fatima understood

[15:44]the key to happiness she understood through the remembrance of God that

[15:51]the hearts will be at peace this is a Formula that the

[15:54]Quran gives us this is a key to happiness that the Quran

[15:57]tells us this is why the imams of the bait they would

[16:02]say we instruct our children and ABI jaffar Imam he says the

[16:13]best type of thicker is because if there was something greater than

[16:25]that rasulullah would have given it to his daughter Fatima she says

[16:30]beloved if there was something better he would have told his daughter

[16:34]so the imams they say this is the best type of and

[16:38]the Imam he says after every prayer we pray five times a

[16:49]day after every prayer before you move the Imam says before you

[16:54]change you you stretch your knees meaning while you're still sitting he

[17:00]says he says I would rather do that is more beloved to

[17:13]me than praying one thousand rakas in a day subhanallah this is

[17:19]the way Allah wants to give you reward so one of the

[17:22]keys to happiness we learned from Fatima to Zara is to have

[17:27]the vicar of Allah on your mind always remember Allah in times

[17:30]of happiness in times of stress in times of anxiety in times

[17:36]of difficulties have the thicker of Allah on your mind if you

[17:39]do that you will attain happiness another key key ingredient to happiness

[17:48]that we learned from Fatima we all want to be happy we

[17:51]said the first is the liquor of Allah remember God second is

[17:58]to be content with what Allah has given you this is a

[18:02]very key element to be to becoming happy be content with what

[18:07]Allah has destined for you do not always look at what other

[18:13]people have some people they have a disease they have something new

[18:18]they have something very nice they have something that any other person

[18:22]would be happy with but they're always looking oh look what they

[18:24]got look what this person got they're always looking at what other

[18:27]people have it makes them not like what they have even though

[18:31]you got something new and you know we live in a capitalistic

[18:34]economy in a capitalistic system every year there's a new phone every

[18:40]year there's a new model of a car so now one year

[18:42]passes you haven't even driven it for one year but your car

[18:45]is not new anymore that's it there's a newer one the phone

[18:48]is not new anymore my neighbor got this my friend my this

[18:53]one they all got something new now I don't like what I

[18:55]have this is a disease my dear brothers and sisters this is

[18:59]a disease that some people have when you are not content you're

[19:05]never going to be content at all even if you have the

[19:07]riches of the world you have everything in this Dunya you're never

[19:10]going to be content and Allah says in the Quran do not

[19:16]stretch your eyes do not always look at what other people have

[19:21]well [Music] do not always look at what other people have because

[19:35]sometimes people they have something they have wealth they have power they

[19:40]have something God is testing them with that do I want God

[19:44]to test me with this maybe I maybe I will fail that

[19:46]test so don't always want what other people have being content my

[19:52]dear brothers and sisters is a very important key to happiness Hadith

[20:01]says contentment is a treasure box that doesn't finish it doesn't finish

[20:07]you keep taking from it you keep taking it it doesn't finish

[20:09]if you were to have a box filled with money you use

[20:13]it you use it use it it finishes but if you're content

[20:15]that's it you're always going to be content if you have your

[20:20]content if you don't have your content you're always happy with what

[20:25]Allah has given you look at could have lived a very wealthy

[20:32]and extravagant lifestyle she could have lived a very extravagant life she

[20:38]chose to be content rather than going after Dunya and chasing material

[20:43]Pleasures in this Dunya on her wedding a lot of people you

[20:50]see when it comes to the weddings there's a lot of fights

[20:52]there's a lot of stress there's a lot of anxiety because always

[20:55]people they want this and they want on her wedding she was

[21:01]content she was satisfied her dress her new dress she gives it

[21:05]in the way of Allah she gives it to a poor person

[21:09]Allah tells her why did you do that the dowry daaris is

[21:25]a symbolic gift that the husband has to give the wife in

[21:31]order for the marriage to be legal islamically the husband has to

[21:34]provide a gift a symbolic gift and it's to not be so

[21:39]high because you're not making a purchase you're not making a transaction

[21:41]it's just a symbolic gift Sunnah which is 500 Dirhams something equivalent

[21:53]to around a thousand dollars today and you divide that into three

[21:56]he sold his shield with that they furnished the house with that

[22:03]he gave a portion to father and with that they had the

[22:06]wedding they invited people to eat this was the Mahar of Fatima

[22:11]Fatima was content she was not consumed with this Dunya my dear

[22:19]brothers and sisters people think that you go to the mall you

[22:21]go and you buy something this is going to make you happy

[22:25]but this is a trap it doesn't make you happy yes sometimes

[22:27]you need to buy things to fill a need you have a

[22:32]need you need a shirt you go and you buy but some

[22:36]people they just buy and then buy and buy and buy and

[22:38]buy and they're not happy you saw last year when you bought

[22:42]did it make you happy then why are you still doing it

[22:43]this year it's not it's a trap it doesn't make you happy

[22:48]be content tell yourself I'm happy with what God has given me

[22:51]spend spend your money now now you can spend your money however

[22:55]you want you could go and buy as much as you want

[22:56]for yourself but if it's off if it's wasting it becomes Haram

[23:04]if it's throwing away something new it also becomes Haram use your

[23:08]money to do something good use your money to bring you real

[23:12]happiness and real Satisfaction by giving sadaqah by helping out all the

[23:20]Muslims they became better off so and of course the day of

[23:27]khabar it was Imam Ali who who killed marhab and there was

[23:30]Imam Ali who brought Victory to the Muslims so rasulullah he comes

[23:33]and he visits Fatima after khabar he sees that she's hung a

[23:39]drape she's hung some type of decoration in the house every lady

[23:42]wants to decorate her house every person wishes to have a decoration

[23:46]in their house rasulullah he saw that there was a decoration there

[23:54]realized the prophet did not spend as much time as he usually

[24:00]does usually he sits a little bit longer this time his eyes

[24:02]fell on this decoration and he left so right away she realized

[24:09]she comes and she brings down the decoration imagine you've hung something

[24:12]nice in your house she comes she brings it down she folds

[24:15]it she gives it to her children Hussain and she tells them

[24:22]go and give this to my father go and give this to

[24:24]rasulullah and tell him to do whatever he wants with it they

[24:29]go and they give it in front of all the Muslims they

[24:32]go and they give it to rasulullah his eyes fall on it

[24:37]he sees it he begins to cry and he says three times

[24:42]that she did what I wanted her to do I didn't tell

[24:45]her I didn't say with my words but in my heart this

[24:50]is what I wanted Fatima to do she did it may her

[24:54]father's Soul be sacrificed for her rasulallah is trying to teach Fatima

[25:00]and he's trying to teach people that pleasures of this Dunya do

[25:04]not last seek the pleasures of the seek the pleasures of the

[25:09]afterlife when you give something in the way of Allah that is

[25:12]something that will last that is something that will bring you real

[25:16]satisfaction and real pleasure Fatima one of the keys to her happiness

[25:21]was that she was content she was satisfied with what Allah had

[25:28]given her one day even she was So Satisfied that she would

[25:32]not ask Imam Ali for certain things one day Imam Ali he

[25:37]comes home and he sees that there's no food he tells her

[25:40]oh Fatima we don't have any food she tells him no we

[25:44]don't he tells her why didn't you tell me if you tell

[25:46]me I would have brought she tells him oh Ali I know

[25:51]that you're a generous person if you have you bring why should

[25:53]I come and burden you with something when you don't have because

[25:58]when when we got when we first got married rasulullah he told

[26:03]me do not burden your husband with something that they can't do

[26:12]and this is a very important key to a happy marriage happy

[26:16]relationship sometimes there's expectations from the husband to the wife from the

[26:20]wife to the husband something that the other person cannot do it's

[26:23]out of their control it's something that's difficult so he she tells

[26:28]him she tells him this is right away he leaves the house

[26:34]he goes and he borrows the Dirham and then he comes back

[26:49]food he gives it to the other Muslim and then he comes

[26:54]back home and he sees Fatima to Zara in her prayer in

[27:00]her mahab the place where she prays and next to her there's

[27:03]a plate of food and rasulullah is standing above her head he

[27:07]looks at her he tells her oh Fatima where's this food from

[27:12]because he went and he borrowed money but then he saw someone

[27:14]else was in need so he gave it away so he tells

[27:18]her where is this from the reply comes this is from God

[27:26]and then Allah he smiles and he looks he tells him is

[27:31]not less than Miriam Zakaria used to go and see Miriam the

[27:55]same way God would send food to Maryam Allah has sent sustenance

[28:02]to Fatima we will stop here inshallah in the next sermon we

[28:07]will say another key ingredient to the happiness had come on Muhammad

[30:09]happiness the keys to satisfaction and happiness everyone wants happiness within a

[30:14]short life she was able to attain that one was the thicker

[30:20]of Allah she had the remembrance of God on the tip of

[30:25]her tongue always second she was content with what God has given

[30:29]her and third my dear brothers and sisters a key to happiness

[30:34]is to have good is to have good manners is to be

[30:40]loving is to have that manners the true manners of Islam verily

[30:51]the whole purpose of being a good Muslim is to have proper

[30:58]proper manners now what does manners mean some people think proper manners

[31:03]means I wave to my neighbor I hold the door and that's

[31:05]what it means to have proper manners that's yes that's a part

[31:09]of it we should always do that we should always be kind

[31:13]but manners before they are reflected in your actions manners are in

[31:17]the heart and in the mind and in your outlook and in

[31:22]your perspective towards other people manners means that you love other people

[31:27]manners means that you wish the good for other people the same

[31:30]way you wish good for yourself we all want to live a

[31:34]comfortable life I should want that for other people as well I

[31:36]should want that for my neighbor for my family for my friends

[31:40]for my relatives for people around me for members of society I

[31:45]should want other people to be happy if I want to only

[31:48]for myself and I don't want that then I don't have manners

[31:50]manners is your perspective manners is in the heart the Hadith from

[31:59]Imam al-baqarah he says love your brother who's a Muslim and your

[32:04]sister and love for your brother who's a Muslim love for them

[32:12]that which you love for yourself if I want to be comfortable

[32:15]then I should want this for them if I want to live

[32:19]happy if I want to go on vacation if I want to

[32:22]be able to eat every day then I should want this for

[32:24]other people as well and you should hate for them what you

[32:30]hate for yourself you don't want anything bad happening to you you

[32:35]should also not want that for other people this is manners my

[32:38]dear brothers and sisters and we see she was the embodiment of

[32:46]the Perfection of manners yes the Apple doesn't fall far from the

[32:53]tree her father is the man who was sent as a Mercy

[33:01]to Mankind this is his daughter he says I would hear my

[33:06]mother praying for the Neighbors she does Dua for the Neighbors I

[33:25]then we remember ourselves this attitude of giving this attitude of loving

[33:31]this attitude of service towards others this is real my dear brothers

[34:17]questions about how to perform the prayer how to do it better

[35:19]heavy carry it to the second story of a house carry it

[35:21]up on go up the stairs carry something heavy but and for

[35:28]that they will give you one hundred thousand dinar you will receive

[35:33]one hundred thousand dinar for carrying something heavy to the second story

[35:37]is that still going to be heavy for you no it's not

[35:40]going to be heavy because the reward is so great so then

[35:43]she tells her itage she says for every question that I answered

[35:56]you I received the reward of pearls from the Earth all the

[36:01]way to the arch to the throne of God what is she

[36:05]trying to say she's trying to teach us the act of service

[36:10]the act of giving to other people and don't always seek the

[36:12]reward in this Dunya some people they're not going to do anything

[36:15]if they don't receive the dollar amount if they don't receive the

[36:18]reward the thanks in this Dunya leave some of your work for

[36:25]the it's okay if people don't see it it's okay if people

[36:27]don't recognize it because God does recognize it and Allah tells shows

[36:37]us they gave their lack of giving in the way of Allah

[36:42]they did not want people to thank them sometimes I don't do

[36:45]something good unless people recognize me they didn't want that they wanted

[36:49]Allah and Allah brought down the whole Surah Surah Allah and then

[37:00]Allah says [Applause] we're doing this for God I don't want you

[37:14]to thank me I'm doing good for Allah this is the and

[37:21]this is many years later he says he says she says never

[37:34]once our whole time we were married never wants to anger me

[37:37]never once did she do something that was against my will and

[37:46]I used to look at her and forget all of my problems

[37:49]this is the key to happiness my dear brothers and sisters we

[37:53]mentioned three points one is second is to be content and third

[38:02]is to have your your outlook to be changed to be a

[38:05]person who sees good in other people don't always see other people

[38:09]they're after me they want to take my wealth I have to

[38:13]take no want good for other people this is Fatima my dear

[38:18]brothers and sisters I congratulate you on the birth of Lady Fatima

[38:23]alaihissalam and we ask Allah to bless us all on this holy

[38:30]occasions foreign
