[0:34]quranic lifestyle and today we are blessed to have dr muhammad who
[0:37]is actually joining us from um inshallah before i introduce him a
[0:44]quick biography insha allah in iran he studied english literature and linguistics
[0:49]at the university of tehran and he has been active in the
[0:52]realm of literature in english and has translated several islamic texts from
[0:56]arabic and persian into english it translated into english a collection of
[1:01]imam al-hussein's sermons and letters and discourses he also authored the first
[1:06]book length biography of allama amini in english among his forthcoming works
[1:12]the following may be mentioned ashura encyclopedic dictionary and martyrdom narratives uh
[1:18]which are basically the mukhtars of imam was saying as you know

[1:41]uh inshallah whenever you're ready you can introduce the topic that you're
[1:44]going to be talking about today and shall we begin the webinar
[1:48]no i'm ready okay go ahead please this is gonna begin please
[1:56]uh first of all uh i should like to express my uh
[2:01]deep condolences to all the attendants i mean those people uh who
[2:08]have the opportunity of uh i mean viewing this online webinar on
[2:15]the uh occasion of the marquis anniversary of hazard after that i
[2:24]should like to mention that according to the topic already selected that
[2:29]is only felicity from a quranic and islamic perspective uh i should
[2:36]like to say that in the holy quran there are many uh
[2:41]verses i mean uh that refer to uh the i mean two
[2:46]sides or two uh i mean uh two end points or two
[2:49]destinations one of them is uh paradise and another one is the
[2:53]hellfire in the holy quran uh in surah al hash it's indicated
[3:00]in this way although the regime the people of the hellfire and
[3:12]the people of the paradise and divine paradise are not on a
[3:16]call with each other as how will the people of the uh
[3:22]people of the paradise of the divine paradise are the felicitas now
[3:27]when we um delve into this topic in the quranic verses we
[3:35]can find out that according to quranic teachings one of the main
[3:42]gateways to reaching the divine pleasure and in effect the uh reaching
[3:49]the divine paradise in the world hereafter is having good faith i
[3:58]mean being sincere not as i mean superficially or i mean initially
[4:05]on the word of for example just saying or just i'm claiming
[4:09]something but the holy quran says it means that first of all
[4:14]people are expected to have a firm belief in the holy quran
[4:20]in the islamic religion and then do and practice whatever has been
[4:27]instructed in this way uh from the allah the form allah subhanahu
[4:33]wa ta'ala and the prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam as the last
[4:41]divine prophet practiced all of the those notions and uh rights and
[4:45]rituals in his own um in his own lifestyle so that we
[4:51]find that the holy quran is explicit in that it asserts that
[4:58]you for you there is a good role model in the personality
[5:03]and character and career of the prophet muhammad it's asserted by all
[5:11]muslim scholars i mean with the shia or sunny or otherwise said
[5:14]that the prophet muhammad was no doubt and the manifesto exemplar in
[5:26]terms of practicing whatever loss of hana wata'ala advised his i mean
[5:33]his i mean his create his creatures and the best role model
[5:41]was none but the uh prophet muhammad now we find that i
[5:45]mean based on the topic of i mean um felicity i mean
[5:49]related to this we find that in the surah al-mu'min the 23rd
[5:55]surah of the holy quran it's i mean in verses 55 to
[6:01]61 it's indicated that some people find some people guess that i
[6:06]mean being uh being i mean being provided with worldly gains such
[6:11]as for example properties and children uh i mean according to the
[6:18]quranic i mean assertion being provided with worldly gains for example for
[6:25]better children never never prove being felicitous rather those who are practically
[6:32]pious help the needy the poor in the cause of god and
[6:36]for the sake of god's pleasure and they are at the same
[6:41]time god fearing not at the level of talking or claiming rather
[6:43]i mean at the level of practice uh later and they believe
[6:51]that they will in the long run um be uh i mean
[6:56]turned it toward allah because i mean our destination is toward allah
[7:00]certainly these people uh i mean are referred to as avi felicitas
[7:07]people uh in the meantime i should like to say that i
[7:11]mean these are kind of um kind of i mean i should
[7:19]like to say controversy in this regard in that for example when
[7:25]we check some authoritative english dictionaries such as for example uh short
[7:30]outside english dictionary i mean i'm i'm just i should like to
[7:35]make references to shorter outside english dictionary because this this is uh
[7:40]i mean uh reliable reference work on which so far as we
[7:47]know uh a great host of academics have been working in it
[7:52]when we check the term felicity we find that i mean for
[7:58]felicity the following terms are given i mean by way of i
[8:02]mean definition happiness bless cause or source of happiness prosperity and appropriateness
[8:08]in invention or expression or for example a happy inspiration and so
[8:16]on now we find that i mean one of the major differences
[8:18]between uh divine religions i mean the religions introduced by uh god
[8:25]and promulgated by the divine prophets and in islam those i mean
[8:32]religious percepts as included in the holy quran have been um have
[8:40]been have been uh shown in detail and uh received uh adequate
[8:46]uh adequate exposition by the infallible imam so we find that in
[8:53]them um felicity uh receives another aspect and another definition it's this
[9:02]uh joint chair that we find that almost all diva all philosophical
[9:10]trends or currents or for example great philosophers or great uh i
[9:15]mean personalities in the world right from for example suppose uh ancient
[9:20]greece up to now for example i mean dispose socrates or plato
[9:25]aristotle and so on i mean and we can move on in
[9:31]this i mean line and reach our own time we find that
[9:33]almost all of them have tried to touch upon the nature and
[9:41]definitions of felicity in contrast to happiness we find that i mean
[9:47]happiness i mean something quite i mean transitory or transitional while the
[9:53]felicity is something quite uh long-lasting and at the same time we
[9:57]find that um this kind of happiness or felicity stand in in
[10:07]you know in somewhat in opposition against whatever has been introduced whatever
[10:16]have been introduced in the uh i mean in abrahamic religions and
[10:20]among the abrahamic religions we find that the most uh accurate and
[10:27]the most reliable of them is in the islamic religion first of
[10:33]all in the quranic uh in in in i mean in the
[10:37]text of the holy quran and later on we find it that
[10:41]after that i mean as expositions of the holy quran we find
[10:43]i mean these notions well elaborated and well um i mean um
[10:49]interpreted in in terms of the hadiths that we have received from
[10:55]the infallible imams then we find that i mean there's another aspect
[10:59]and another perspective which uh i mean deserves being addressed and mentioned
[11:05]uh naturally as uh human beings we do have the right uh
[11:12]to attain felicity let me give you an example for example everybody
[11:17]i mean every mankind everybody has a variety to receive education to
[11:22]receive freedom i mean to be provided with his or her basic
[11:28]needs for example calmness or freedom freedom of expression and freedom of
[11:38]choosing a religion or for example freedom of where to live and
[11:42]what kind of occupation the person may have these kinds of freedom
[11:48]these different i mean aspects of freedom have been uh largely discussed
[11:53]by both philosophers and experts in the in in the realm of
[11:58]uh law and legal studies i don't want to embark on those
[12:01]aspects because i mean it will be a different story however i
[12:06]should like to say that from the islamic perspective we find that
[12:11]everybody has the right to attain to attain felicity from the islamic
[12:23]perspective you find that in the holy quran it's mentioned [Music] it
[12:32]means that all mankind you are walking you are i mean trading
[12:38]in a street in a way you know on a road i
[12:40]mean the end point is nothing but god and for example in
[12:49]um in a divine discourse i mean as indicated in the holy
[12:56]quran uh god allah subhanahu wa ta'ala addresses the moses the prophet
[13:01]moses i've created you for my own sake i've created i've created
[13:08]you for the sake of my own aims and my own sublime
[13:13]aims so we find that the whole world haven't been the whole
[13:19]world hasn't been created in vain rather everything has been i mean
[13:25]well calculated by allah at the same time we find that the
[13:30]holy quran i mean as the explicit and intact word we have
[13:40]shown him the way uh whether he chooses i mean mankind man
[13:44]chooses to go to the hell fire or to the paradise so
[13:48]we find that allah has shown us the right way and he
[13:53]has provided us with the right means of attaining felicity both in
[13:57]this world and in the world hereafter the basic philosophy of uh
[14:03]of dispatching prophets uh i mean on the side of allah for
[14:10]mankind is because uh men as such certainly meets a confident guide
[14:17]i mean based on his suggestions and guidelines men may may find
[14:27]his way toward not only god's pleasure but the the divine paradise
[14:34]so we find that in all i mean these indications i mean
[14:42]mostly elaborated in islamic texts islamic classics we find that the the
[14:51]kind of felicity as indicated and defined and referred to whether explicitly
[14:56]or implicitly in the hall of fame or we find that i
[15:03]mean the um the uh connecting threat is uh divine uh unicity
[15:11]or monophase it's through uh islamic teachings i mean it's uh i
[15:15]mean uh by islamic teachings that people i mean all people may
[15:22]find their ways uh toward allah it taught achieving felicity and and
[15:32]enjoying felicity both in this world and in the world hereafter at
[15:39]the moment i should like to say that uh some of our
[15:43]viewers may ask this question that okay the holy quran is a
[15:46]divine rate and well it has received that many i mean this
[15:53]is great i mean we accept it however in order to uh
[15:59]put it in i mean in simpler terms uh in shia we
[16:04]are proud that you have a very important book a very important
[16:08]document in fact it's i mean all uh kind of reliable hadith
[16:14]that's his resultant hope treaties and rights or children rights it was
[16:21]uh issued by the fortune salomon and it has received several expositions
[16:34]in in islamic languages such as in arabic in passion and most
[16:38]probably in uldus i mean to my knowledge if not in other
[16:41]languages and dialects here we find that i mean fortunately in the
[16:50]english translation of as done as in in uh in the english
[17:06]translation of uh resolutely as done by um the american scholar uh
[17:15]professor william city and published by oxford university press in 1988 at
[17:19]the end um i mean we find that a somewhat uh i
[17:26]mean uh synoptic translation of research always indicated later on such as
[17:34]for example let me find this book over here i mean for
[17:44]my uh i mean it's available on my desk let me find
[17:49]it yes later on uh i mean the indian scholar the late
[18:05]say that uh produced an english translation of it i mean i
[18:10]should like to take it i mean just in front of the
[18:16]camera so that the viewers may find it missing it okay um
[18:19]now we find that i mean in this book uh in this
[18:25]short treatise uh issued originally by the fourth infallible imam and in
[18:34]answer to a request that he had received and i mean most
[18:39]presumably the uh immediate and the first audience and uh addressee of
[18:47]this reseller hall was uh better known as abraham's formality who was
[18:55]a confident uh companion of the fourth infallible imam ali we find
[19:01]that in it i mean uh the various kinds of rights have
[19:06]been indicated from the right of allah to the right of unto
[19:09]the rights of body organs to the rights of with whom we
[19:16]have we have i mean interactions like for example our parents our
[19:21]children our neighbors our teachers our students of fellow workers and so
[19:27]on now one may say that okay why so many uh elaboration
[19:30]on one why so much elaboration uh on on this aspect this
[19:39]is because from a purely islamic perspective and according to uh that
[19:45]is reliable type of lifestyle we find that an ethicity is the
[19:50]uh the thing or the the i mean the end point felicity
[19:55]is the end point that all people uh yearn to reach because
[20:01]i mean it entails uh i mean a deep and profound happiness
[20:04]both in this world and in the world hereafter i should like
[20:11]to make uh some references to astahipasta i mean at the same
[20:16]time i should like to say that unfortunately uh we haven't been
[20:24]that much associated with the save as a judea because the fourth
[20:28]infallible imam ali issued several several supplications and prayers and his son
[20:39]the fifth infallible imam muhammad al-baq transcribed all of them and uh
[20:48]centuries of cassanchi's generation after generation up to now this vicious collection
[20:54]has the roots now we find that in uh in supplication 27
[21:02]in fragments number 15 it's indicated that oh allah you seal him
[21:10]with felicity and decree him with martyrdom i mean it means that
[21:13]i mean the pious people i mean those pious people uh i
[21:19]mean who receive the i mean who are who have been provided
[21:26]with felicity on the side of allah i mean they may reach
[21:31]they may attain the uh sublime position of being artists now we
[21:37]find that we smarted them i mean the uh most explicit instance
[21:42]of which can be found in the personality and in the uh
[21:48]in the sublime character of imam al-hussein al-salam he showed i mean
[21:54]in his lifestyle particularly on the day of ashura that in order
[22:01]to reach felicity one has to sacrifice whatever is has been available
[22:05]to him or her in the cause of allah out of sincerity
[22:10]elsewhere in safer such a d it's indicated on its application 39
[22:18]fragment 3 it's indicated that felicity is a divine bounty when it's
[22:24]when it's mentioned that felicity is a divine bounty it means that
[22:29]both we as uh i mean faithful people we have to do
[22:34]our best in the cause of allah yet we have to request
[22:41]the divine help divine assistance in order to reach this divine bounty
[22:45]elsewhere in a safer such idea in this application 46 fragments 17
[22:51]it's indicated that felicity in the light of the divine is felicity
[22:58]is the in the divine uh felicity in the light of the
[23:02]divine respite is for people to to repent and to return to
[23:07]him please note carefully that i mean um addresses both the pious
[23:19]and the scenes i mean as the infallible imam imam said salam
[23:26]never i mean never forgot on these sinners radha as the uh
[23:34]personality uh whose mission whose i mean mission is to take mankind
[23:39]into felicity imam sajad ali salam who was uh was was determined
[23:46]to take not only the i mean the good doers but also
[23:50]the sinners to the right path to the uh right way in
[23:56]order to reach felicity likewise for example we find that on the
[23:59]day of ashura imam al-hussein alisson tried hard in order to direct
[24:07]his foes his enemies i mean those people were actually i mean
[24:12]the fighting king imam was a resolute to guide them to felicity
[24:17]i mean to to the divine to the divine pleasure and to
[24:24]felicity so we find that the infallible imams were not such figures
[24:26]uh who who were only uh i mean concerned with their own
[24:33]fate or the fates of of and the fate of their own
[24:37]for example uh peers or close relatives or companions rather the infallible
[24:44]iman's wanted to show to everybody which is which and how people
[24:50]may attain felicity again or to return to a safety sacha i
[24:58]mean in fact safer is replete with these instances so that i've
[25:02]tried it to be rather very selective for this session in supplication
[25:12]63 fragment 10 indicates that that felicity uh i mean is a
[25:19]result of obeying god and receiving god's forgiveness so we find that
[25:23]both obeying god and receiving god's forgiveness all of them should come
[25:29]from god and this and this bounty this attention uh wouldn't come
[25:36]to anybody i mean out of the blue rather i mean people
[25:42]are expected to uh i mean to be active i mean um
[25:46]to discharge their own efforts in the cause of god in the
[25:51]cause of allah let me make let me give you an example
[25:54]supposedly suppose of that in a class for example some students don't
[26:02]study others among the rest of the students some of the students
[26:06]do their best yet those who do their best they receive some
[26:10]extra extra help or extra extracurricular help from their teacher in order
[26:16]to make better students and attain a higher status so we find
[26:24]that in the initially uh all people i mean initially everybody should
[26:29]do uh his or her best in order to be able and
[26:32]in order to develop in him or herself this capability of receiving
[26:38]the divine grace and the divine bounty and in this case the
[26:42]capability to to receive felicity that's where we find that felicity i
[26:50]mean felicity is defined that it's in effect of being well knight
[26:56]to god i mean having i mean being in proximity to god
[27:01]it's indicated in the in the safe as such idea in supplications
[27:04]in in another supplication uh i mean included in uh uh that's
[27:13]the william uh i mean translation it's uh i mean uh i
[27:17]mean uh the supplication of the fearful i mean supplication of those
[27:21]people who are fearful i mean with respect to allah elsewhere again
[27:29]in another supplication the supplications of the hopeful those people who are
[27:37]hopeful who are uh i mean uh i mean who expect to
[27:44]receive the divine bounty it's indicated that felicity is the divine mercy
[27:48]and or practical utility of it so i mean based on these
[27:55]indications it becomes clear that desiring desire i mean the desire to
[28:01]reach to receive the desire to achieve the status of being capable
[28:07]of receiving the divine guidance of the divine light and by the
[28:12]same token the the i mean the capability or the capacity of
[28:19]receiving uh this uh divine grace and divine attention uh i mean
[28:27]it isn't i mean it isn't the end point in itself rather
[28:31]we have to be able to develop uh in ourselves at the
[28:35]capacity of the capability of practically obvious i mean being able to
[28:41]uh i mean to practicalize i mean to to practice i mean
[28:46]how to make the most of this opportunity the opportunity of receiving
[28:53]um this felicity because this felicity i mean this for example uh
[28:59]receiving god's grace or receiving the the uh divine attention to uh
[29:04]to to repent to him to allah and to reach the divine
[29:10]satisfaction and divine uh pleasure this may happen to for example everybody
[29:17]however it isn't it isn't enough i mean at the moment it
[29:21]comes but it depends on our own capability whether we are um
[29:28]we are capable enough in terms of i mean restoring the muscles
[29:36]or for example making the most of it uh elsewhere in uh
[29:41]asafoetida and in the um uh in the uh prayers uh indicated
[29:48]and offered by the fourth infallible imam ali ibn hussein islam it's
[29:54]indicated that i mean if the philosophers is one who practically beseeches
[30:01]allah and this is very important i mean there are i mean
[30:04]two concepts i mean available in uh steakhouse one of them is
[30:12]sadha this is another one so the felicitous person is the person
[30:19]who receives the initial uh the beam of light of felicity and
[30:24]i mean having developed in him or herself the ability to rest
[30:28]to to restore it makes him or herself capable of receiving more
[30:35]divine attention also faithful praising allah makes us makes us and leads
[30:44]us to become felicitous so we find that i mean in this
[30:49]regard you'll find that the philistic felicity comes to people especially at
[30:56]special on special occasions for example in uh safer in uh fragment
[31:07]49 uh felicity it's indicated in this way felicitus is one whose
[31:13]rituals are fasting in ramadan is well accepted okay it proves that
[31:19]if someone desires and years to reach felicity to attain felicity he
[31:25]or she must be sincere in practicing the rituals indicated in the
[31:32]islamic religion i mean to practice good things and i mean whatever
[31:36]has been recommended and to abstain from uh committing whatever has been
[31:41]declared as a sinful of improper from the islamic perspective and that
[31:47]at the end of the month ramadan i mean suppose that a
[31:53]person i mean a believer a faithful person a practicing believer has
[31:58]been fortunate to to fast throughout every month of ramadan and at
[32:04]the end uh he comes to offer uh a prayer to god
[32:10]i mean this is i mean this has been available i mean
[32:14]this type of player is already available in as safe as such
[32:18]attila in supplication number 45 also in the um imam sajad in
[32:26]the salons exposition and prayer uh it should be recited at the
[32:35]end of finishing one uh i mean one round of reciting the
[32:39]holy quran we find that the holy quran is regarded and is
[32:45]described as the source of receiving divine uh felicity so we find
[32:51]that i mean there are many ways in is from the islamic
[32:57]perspective for reaching felicity however the hardcore and the i mean common
[33:05]core of all these definitions based on explicit and will document this
[33:11]text i mean for example the uh holy quran first of all
[33:18]the holy quran as the intact divine book divine scripture which is
[33:21]intact i mean we believe in islam in this way and the
[33:27]um and the supplications offered by the fourth and fallen uh who
[33:34]find that i mean the hardcore is first of all having firm
[33:40]belief in the divine unicity and then practicing the divine commands and
[33:47]commandments and keeping away from keeping away from uh committing sins with
[33:54]a major or minor i mean there's no difference between major and
[33:57]minor sins because all of sins are sins and according to the
[34:03]peace of hadith grave sin is the the small or i mean
[34:07]a minor scene uh or a sin that's i mean the person
[34:12]who commits it regards as a minus we shouldn't look at the
[34:19]sin in itself whether we have to be careful uh in front
[34:21]i mean in the presence of the creator we disobey his commandments
[34:28]and his orders so we find that i mean in contrast to
[34:33]the indications available in all amongst the great religions or great i
[34:43]mean attitudes or currents or i should like to say that i
[34:49]mean trends i mean whether philosophical or mystical or otherwise we find
[34:53]that the kind of approach uh i mean introduced and the kind
[34:57]of definitions provided in islamic texts i mean especially particularly in the
[35:03]holy quran and in the authentic and authoritative uh hadith especially and
[35:09]in this case i mean the case i mean from which i've
[35:12]mentioned several examples that is in a safe as the idea or
[35:18]in other supplementary prayers uh that we have received the formula and
[35:23]also in his uh brief but content-wise very great masterpiece it must
[35:34]be indicated that i mean all in all there's one way obeying
[35:41]allah disobeying or neglecting satanic temptations which are available at every single
[35:48]moment and that we have to uh we have to make sure
[35:51]that we are not alone we are constantly being watched and we
[35:59]have to help not only ourselves or our close relatives rather we
[36:05]have to help all human beings in order to reach this felicity
[36:09]uh i guess uh i've talked enough so uh in case you
[36:15]may you may want to intervene or you may want to to
[36:19]say something or receive the comments of the respected viewers i'm ready
[36:27]well i don't know uh how much i've talked but i think
[36:30]i uh i'm approaching the end of my i mean the time
[36:37]you elected me i sense yes inshallah we are going to move
[36:40]on to the second part of the webinar uh which is the
[36:44]question and answer session but before i do get into it just
[36:46]a reminder uh to the viewers that this is inshallah recurring webinar
[36:50]uh every thursday at 6 pm uk time with the main topic
[36:55]being quranic lifestyle and of course you know each week we have
[36:58]a different scholar or different guest learning guests uh talking about their
[37:02]own sub topic uh relating to uh the main topic of quranic
[37:05]lifestyle so doctor you know the first question uh of course that
[37:09]comes to mind when we talk about uh the topic that you
[37:11]are discussing is the idea of happiness in islam what is the
[37:17]meaning of happiness or how does one gain happiness in accordance to
[37:23]islam yes uh please note carefully that's uh i mean from the
[37:28]purely islamic perspective this world cannot be dispensed with in favor of
[37:33]the world hereafter i mean there's a piece of hadith from the
[37:38]second infallible imam al-hasan al-muslav in which he asserted to one of
[37:45]his companions on his deathbed he mentioned i mean he he instructed
[37:53]he instructed one of his close uh i mean companions be for
[38:04]your for your life in this world as if you are going
[38:08]to live in it forever and be and be for your uh
[38:12]life and and be ready for for death as if you are
[38:18]going to die tomorrow so this this attitude i mean shows that
[38:22]the kind of good and reasonable and rational um equilibrium should be
[38:31]uh should be maintained uh no same peoples would say that people
[38:36]don't don't need uh happiness certainly happiness is needed however the type
[38:42]of happiness and the way we reach is very important okay in
[38:49]being happy uh we don't have to infringe the rights of other
[38:52]people or to transgress the limits of the limits indicated by god
[38:59]or to harm other people to for example ridicule other people to
[39:03]offend other people's feelings rather there are many um peaceful and rational
[39:08]ways of uh i mean being happy or make other people happy
[39:14]in this world however what's important in this regard is that we
[39:21]fall beyond happiness uh comes felicity about which i mean some important
[39:25]the other six and important uh i mean indications have already been
[39:29]revealed i sense thank you for that beautiful answer another question that
[39:36]comes into mind is slightly different uh to the topic that you're
[39:41]discussing but of course it is of course uh related to the
[39:43]uh elements of quranic life silence is that you know in the
[39:48]quran and etcetera that allah has you know created every every man
[39:52]and every woman with different trials and tribulations so why is it
[39:55]that some people are tested more than others and some people are
[40:02]not tested as much uh this is of course i mean indicated
[40:08]in the holy quran i mean the first of all that people
[40:11]are created not exactly like each other it's in the i mean
[40:15]it's answered in the holy quran certainly we have created you uh
[40:25]i mean mankind i mean in the form of different tribes different
[40:30]skin color and so on so that we would be distinguished from
[40:34]each other this is one however the holy quran indicates and he
[40:39]asserts that the most honored the most honorable of all of you
[40:44]before allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and or in the eyes of in
[40:47]in the eyes of allah is the most pious of you so
[40:51]we find that i mean this kind of um piety this kind
[40:55]of i mean uh being got fairy or on godfaring or got
[40:59]fairiness or i mean this uh kind of a practical piousness of
[41:04]priority uh this is the artistic and you know in answer to
[41:14]your question in the holy quran it's indicated i mean these calamities
[41:21]disasters and so on or problems or i mean uh difficult situations
[41:27]or stressful uh conditions or context they appear to all nations all
[41:31]people i mean there's no difference but for example some people may
[41:36]receive more uh catastrophic situations because i mean they are living in
[41:40]a for example unstable situation and so on okay it doesn't mean
[41:44]that for example those people who live in for example in finland
[41:49]or for example in sweden they would be i mean free from
[41:51]any kind of disaster or any kind of problem no i mean
[41:56]we received the news of almost all kinds of calamities happening here
[42:01]and today in the news okay day and night okay so we
[42:04]can't say that okay one special nation or one special group of
[42:09]people may be uh modia to allah so that's i mean they
[42:15]are for example um uh i mean uh well i mean modi
[42:21]it's a dear to allah no people are people i mean allah
[42:25]created the whole universe the whole ami people and he tests all
[42:32]of all people all the time but we may not be able
[42:35]to sense various kinds of testings i mean done on the part
[42:40]of allah essence and another question that uh i've received is again
[42:48]in relation to connecting with allah through the quran uh you know
[42:52]gaining happiness of course you know the wajibata allah has asked us
[42:54]you know to pray or to fast but besides all of this
[42:58]what else can we do in order to connect to allah and
[43:02]gain the happiness with him i couldn't get it i said that
[43:09]you know basically we are asked about allah to perform namaz or
[43:12]or prayer and salah and to fast but what else can we
[43:17]do as human beings as muslims uh to gain a connection with
[43:19]allah and gain some sort of happiness towards him since your topic
[43:23]is on felicity yes actually i mean in islamic uh instructions for
[43:29]example helping other people uh is a very meritorious uh deed and
[43:35]act i mean very much i mean uh stressed and very much
[43:40]indicated and emphasized in the uh practices of the infallibles please note
[43:46]carefully that according to a reliable piece of hadith a piece of
[43:54]indication uh imam al-hussein al-assam was busy with a ritual when we
[44:00]practice for example i mean praying to allah performing salat namas and
[44:04]so on and at the same time someone approached him and that
[44:09]person had a problem then imam al-husseinism instantly left the mosque and
[44:14]got out of the mosque in order to help that person and
[44:16]we find it that for example when imam aliyah salaam as the
[44:22]first infallible the first immediate and infallible uh imam and successor to
[44:27]the prophet one but when he was only praying and he was
[44:29]mistaken in the i mean the position of boeing and when he
[44:36]at that time he noticed he found out that a beggar uh
[44:39]came inside i mean it entered the mosque in anticipation uh of
[44:46]receiving some financial help imam ali al-assam pointed to him and i
[44:50]mean implied it to him to get closer and then he donated
[44:56]his precious link to that needy person it indicates that there are
[45:00]many uh ways for not being volleyballs but for us i mean
[45:05]in order to receive the divine as the divine satisfaction mainly other
[45:13]people however i should like to say that i mean by way
[45:16]of i mean this helping other people the end point of uh
[45:21]i mean this helping should be something endorsed in the islamic religion
[45:27]uh supposed that if god forbid someone may want to commit a
[45:32]sin we are not entitled to help that person we have to
[45:39]prevent him from doing that not in order to uh to prevent
[45:41]him by the way of applying any kind of force or question
[45:47]on the person but by the way of rescuing i mean with
[45:49]this an intention to rescue this person from a certain punishment that
[45:55]he or she would receive in the world hereafter okay thank you
[46:01]so much uh inshallah just a few more questions uh before we
[46:06]wrap up the uh webinar here uh doctor i'm sure you know
[46:08]you have other things to do uh you know you have blessed
[46:11]us with your presence and your talk another question that i have
[46:15]here uh is in connection to uh the topic that you discussed
[46:18]you know felicity and happiness uh what can we define as felicity
[46:22]uh in regards to the quran actually i mean there are various
[46:29]kinds of or there are various shades of meaning for amy felicity
[46:34]felicity maybe i mean initially felicity in this world and felicity in
[46:38]the world here after okay felicity in this world is for example
[46:42]i mean receiving for example uh having good parents okay or for
[46:48]example receiving a family with family members wife i mean children and
[46:53]so on receiving good education reliable education or for being provided with
[46:58]the right side of for example um i mean i mean being
[47:05]raised in a good economic situation so that the person isn't in
[47:09]need of for example any financial help from here and there and
[47:14]all these would make a bridge or a step in order to
[47:22]reach felicity in the world hereafter okay please note carefully that's uh
[47:26]in order to reach felicity in the world here after the hardcore
[47:30]is uh uh is being concerned with uh the uh the pleasure
[47:36]attaining the pleasure of allah please note carefully that's i mean in
[47:40]this yara texts i mean the pilgrimage players uh indicated and we
[47:47]have received from the infallible imams uh when we uh when we
[47:52]uh when we address the uh market companions of imam al-hussein and
[47:55]the salon we really were forced from thousands you have in you've
[48:02]reached the greatest felicity what does it mean it means that they've
[48:05]reached the felicity and the the sublime state of pleasure in the
[48:10]form of martyrdom why martyrdom because martin is the uh these the
[48:18]final stage of loving so that the person not only has done
[48:24]good in this i mean in his lifetime but at the end
[48:29]of his life he sacrifices his soul and his lifeblood for the
[48:33]sake of allah in order to in order by doing so to
[48:41]save either people or the islamic religion and the uh companions of
[48:45]imam hussain and first of all they wanted to rescue the mankind
[48:49]from ignorance from going astray even as indicated in my lecture imam
[48:55]hussain al-assad was very uh very intent and he was i mean
[49:00]he was very keen to direct not only his own companions i
[49:03]mean those people who were already with him intended to direct the
[49:10]enemy forces to the right path again this shows that an infallible
[49:13]imam is keen and his uh resolute not only for rescuing himself
[49:19]or his companions but even rescuing the enemy soldiers simply because there
[49:25]are uh human beings let me give you an example uh do
[49:29]i have enough time to make a slight contribution in this regard
[49:34]yes yes of course yes you do you do please note carefully
[49:38]that's i mean when imam al-hussein assalam was approaching me from mecca
[49:42]i mean he was approaching right when he wasn't in the vicinity
[49:48]of of the city of new york at that time he was
[49:53]an enemy commander he intercepted imam al-hussein al-islam and blocked his way
[49:57]and prevented him from reaching the city of kukufa yet when imam
[50:01]al-qasimesh found out that all his swordsmen and their horses were really
[50:09]thirsty imam and hussain and salam ordered his companions to to i
[50:16]mean to distribute the uh the amounts of water they had collected
[50:21]for themselves among the enemy forces among not only the enemy forces
[50:25]but i mean to rescue not only the enemy forces but also
[50:30]the horses from set and death what does it show it shows
[50:33]that an infallible imam wants to take everybody's hand to guide him
[50:37]or her to felicity even if this person at the moment may
[50:42]be an enemy of an infallible imam but at least the least
[50:45]condition is that as a human being he has the right to
[50:51]be directed to felicity and the infallible imam i mean practices it
[50:55]and tries to direct the person to felicity but it's i mean
[51:00]it depends on the person's capacity and i mean it depends on
[51:06]the recipient's capacity whether he or she is capable enough of only
[51:11]appreciating this kind of uh extra kindness or extra help and to
[51:15]receive this and to receive and restore this kind of grace or
[51:20]not this is because i mean all those people who had gathered
[51:24]over there on the day of ashura to kill imam and hussein
[51:26]among them some people joined imam and single islam among the enemy
[51:30]forces some of them joined imam al-husseins and why because they even
[51:35]at the last moment of their lives they appreciate it and they
[51:38]came to the point to appreciate the meaning of felicity and that
[51:42]they knew well that the infallible imam was intended to take all
[51:45]people to paradise but we find that the great majority of those
[51:51]people even some people who used to live with imam al-hussein and
[51:55]salaam for for several years okay they ignored and they bypassed this
[51:59]opportunity and they themselves made their ways it was the hell fire
[52:03]both in this world and in the world here after hassan thank
[52:09]you so much uh doctor allah bless you are you joined us
[52:13]all the way from uh today and you enlightened us on a
[52:18]very important topic and of course you answered the questions very beautifully
[52:20]too uh so thank you so much for joining us insha'allah for
[52:24]those who have uh who are watching this later and you have
[52:27]questions you can still send in those questions inshallah the next time

[52:34]him uh for those questions just to find a reminder before we

[52:40]thursday at 6 00 pm uk time uh until march of this
