[2:50][Music] i begin in the name of the almighty god the compassionate

[3:11]the merciful the one who has created everything in utmost perfection and

[3:18]may the peace and blessings of the almighty god be upon his

[3:24]pure and beloved messenger the peak of his creation the symbol of

[3:32]humanity the holy prophet muhammad upon them especially the leader of our

[3:41]time the awaited savior al-imam al-m may allah hasten his reappearance and

[3:49]make us all amongst the sincere and dedicated servants allah subhanahu wa

[3:57]ta'ala states in the holy quran bismillah those who remember their lord

[4:15]while standing while sitting while lying down and they contemplate the creation

[4:22]of the almighty god they contemplate the heavens and the [Music] earth

[4:30]you have not created this universe in vain there's a purpose glory

[4:39]be to you protect us from the fire of hell illuminate your

[4:48]hearts and minds with a very loud we have gathered to commemorate

[4:59]the legacy of lady fatham the daughter of the greatest messenger of

[5:09]allah but what is it that makes lady fatham salaam so great

[5:14]how was she able to leave behind her such an amazing legacy

[5:21]despite her young age how many examples from history do you know

[5:26]someone who was in their teens early 20s who left such a

[5:33]powerful legacy how many examples can you name in history what's her

[5:40]secret how did father leave such a great impact on time change

[5:45]the course of history by being the source of guidance by being

[5:51]the first one after rasulullah to stand up to injustice how did

[5:58]she achieve all of that and how she how did she handle

[6:04]her difficult trial because she paid a very heavy price for standing

[6:07]up to the truth the answer my dear brothers and sisters lies

[6:12]in one word the secret of lady fatham alaihissalam and the reason

[6:17]why she was able to leave such an amazing legacy is that

[6:22]she centered her life around allah subhanahu wa ta'ala the almighty god

[6:27]light at the heart of her life every action she did every

[6:32]word she uttered every step she took was centered around the love

[6:39]of god the commitment to god the devotion to allah subhanahu wa

[6:43]and when you examine her amazing fedex sermon you find very clearly

[6:52]that despite her tragedy her pain her suffering the injustice that she

[6:57]experienced lady fatham alaihi salaam starts the sermon with allah and through

[7:04]her sermon she teaches us how to leave a legacy how to

[7:09]stay strong center your life around your creator nothing else in existence

[7:16]other than god is worthy of you centering your life around it

[7:20]everything will betray you and everything will disappoint you except allah subhanahu

[7:29]wa'ta'ala therefore lady salaam in that fedex sermon the first thing that

[7:33]she stated all praise is due to allah subhana wa the one

[7:44]who has given blessings my dear brothers and sisters what's truly fascinating

[7:50]about this statement here is that lady fatima just witnessed an attack

[7:55]on her house fedex was confiscated from her if you look at

[8:01]it from the outside from a worldly materialistic lens everything had fallen

[8:08]apart she's the daughter of the greatest messenger who brought islam to

[8:11]these people yet they turned against her she was physically assaulted her

[8:18]right was taken from her many of those in her society abandoned

[8:24]her when you look at it from a materialistic perspective everything went

[8:30]wrong it was a tragedy within a tragedy within a tragedy but

[8:36]the first thing that fatima says all praise is due to allah

[8:44]the one who has given blessings my dear brothers and sisters it's

[8:48]one thing to show gratitude to god when things are going your

[8:54]way when you're okay you're fine it's another thing to show gratitude

[8:58]to allah when you're in pain when you're suffering when things are

[9:01]not going your way that's a completely different level but fatima gratitude

[9:09]of the almighty god alhamdulillah i thank him for what he has

[9:20]inspired me if i do any goodness it's because of allah allah

[9:22]has inspired me to do good i also praise allah is because

[9:31]before i deserve anything he's already given me so many blessings in

[9:35]this life my dear brothers and sisters the reality is today we're

[9:40]living an era we're living a generation that really knows no gratitude

[9:46]we have everything we're surrounded by everything we're drowned with blessings yet

[9:52]we don't see them yet we're not gratitude we don't have gratitude

[9:56]we're not grateful look at the younger generation today we have everything

[10:01]that you can ask for we have it it's at our disposal

[10:07]look at the youngsters in our society is there something they don't

[10:12]have gadgets they have the state-of-the-art gadgets are they satisfied no they

[10:19]have all the toys that you can imagine in the world are

[10:22]they satisfied not really they still want more and more you don't

[10:26]see that gratitude the social media accounts they're satisfied with one no

[10:34]they want a second one a third one a new platform we're

[10:37]just never satisfied we don't show that gratitude compare that to your

[10:44]parents generation to your grandparents generation how did they live did they

[10:47]have what you have in this generation did they have the tablets

[10:51]that you have the fancy electric scooters that you have the social

[10:55]media accounts that you have the after school activities that you have

[10:59]they didn't have any of that but subhanallah it seems they had

[11:05]more gratitude teaches us to make allah at the center of your

[11:11]life feel that credit gratitude appreciate it know that you are surrounded

[11:16]with the blessings of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala my great uncle may

[11:20]allah bless him he once told me this is maybe 70 80

[11:25]years ago in the holy city of karbala he said once a

[11:31]year we'd be invited to this person's house who would give us

[11:34]oranges the fruit the orange he said once a year i would

[11:40]eat the orange i would take the orange to my house i

[11:44]would put it under my pillow and sleep with it till the

[11:48]next morning because that's how valuable it was in my eyes i

[11:54]couldn't just go home and eat it right away that's how many

[11:57]of your grandparents lived food was scarce in that society my great-grandfather

[12:03]the late march muhammad saw who was killed in the prisons of

[12:11]saddam i heard from my own grandfather that one day he says

[12:14]one day in karbala i saw my father meaning my great grandfather

[12:20]praying salat al-jur have you heard of a sarah called saratoju you've

[12:28]heard of them have you heard of the prayer of hunger you

[12:32]know we have a muslim prayer called salat when you're hungry for

[12:37]long you pray that prayer things were so bad food was so

[12:46]scarce due to wars due to injustice due to plagues due to

[12:52]the destruction of crops that sometimes people went hungry for days yet

[12:57]that generation had gratitude how much of that gratitude my dear brothers

[13:02]and sisters do we have today today we're going through an unprecedented

[13:07]global state with the covet 19 or now i think we might

[13:14]have to call it covet 20 right with all these new strands

[13:19]popping up here and there yes this is something unprecedented but my

[13:22]dear brothers and sisters most people are still living their lives they

[13:26]still have their livelihoods look at how weak we have become because

[13:31]we don't have that gratitude plagues when they would come in the

[13:36]past they would wipe out half of a city two-thirds of a

[13:42]city that means if you had three members in a household two

[13:44]would die one would stay this would happen in europe this would

[13:47]happen in many parts of the world can you imagine can you

[13:53]imagine this area your state your country your city can you imagine

[13:56]dearborn dearborn heights god forbid 60 of the people die what do

[14:01]you think would happen this was an average plague in the past

[14:07]but we've forgotten about that my dear brothers and sisters we have

[14:11]everything yet we don't have that gratitude lady fathom teaches us have

[14:18]that gratitude especially in times of suffering in times of pain she's

[14:23]demonstrating to us that i the daughter of your greatest messenger i

[14:29]just experienced the greatest tragedy in this ummah but i come here

[14:35]in the masjid i give this speech and i say alhamdulillah that's

[14:40]how you start centering your life around allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to

[14:45]truly bring your heart to see that gratitude and to know that

[14:50]even if things are not going your way even if i'm suffering

[14:55]even if i'm struggling too often we say is that fair why

[15:00]is that fair i hear that from many people when you go

[15:02]through a trial why is that fair allah subhanahu ta'ala could have

[15:08]stopped this why did he not i'm trying to be good i'm

[15:13]supplicating i'm praying i'm fasting i'm charitable but still i'm going through

[15:18]this difficulty fatima salam teaches us in these moments know that allah

[15:24]subhanahu wa ta'ala is the king of the universe he's managing everything

[15:29]he's got a plan don't worry sometimes when you feel like your

[15:36]life is going through a lot of difficulties and obstacles you feel

[15:39]like the universe is falling apart right isn't that how we feel

[15:44]that's because we center ourselves in this universe we think the universe

[15:50]revolves around us but tawheed means no you connect yourself to allah

[15:55]who's the center of the universe it's okay he has a plan

[16:01]for you and if you want to know whether god has a

[16:03]plan or not because sometimes we really have doubts when we go

[16:08]through difficulty just examine your surroundings examine this universe and you see

[16:12]that everything in this universe knows exactly what to do except this

[16:18]confused human being there's nothing confused around you just inspect the whole

[16:26]universe from a sub-atomic level to a grand universal level to a

[16:31]cosmic level there's nothing confused in this universe have you ever seen

[16:37]a confused atom not knowing know what to do an electron that's

[16:40]confused do i spin this way or that way how many times

[16:45]should i spin everything is in perfect order allah subhanahu ta'ala has

[16:51]inspired it what to do look at the world of animals they

[16:56]know exactly what to do some animals sometimes if you think that

[17:01]you have a heavy workload believe me some of these animals put

[17:05]our workload to shame look at some of these ants the honeybees

[17:10]the beavers the penguins the female lions do you know how hard

[17:15]they work just to continue surviving too often we forget about that

[17:24]allah mentions the ant in the holy quran mentions the be in

[17:28]the holy quran why for us to reflect allah i have revealed

[17:33]and inspired the honeybee you know when you look at a honeycomb

[17:39]or a beehive you see an entire company subhanallah how every member

[17:46]of that company knows what to do the ceo is the queen

[17:53]bee right she reproduces and you have all these types of workers

[17:58]you have for instance those worker bees which are all female you

[18:05]know what they do those worker bees their task is to get

[18:11]the nectar from the field bees the field bees are those who

[18:16]go out there and bring the nectar and any other things that

[18:20]they need to run their company these female worker bees they get

[18:26]the nectar and they start regurgitating it so many times filtering the

[18:31]water out so it becomes this pure honey and then you know

[18:37]what else they do today you have the ac that regulates the

[18:41]temperature in the building and your house you're comfortable sleeping on the

[18:46]couch doing your work you don't have to work hard for that

[18:48]these animals have to work hard for that when it becomes cold

[18:53]in the winter all these worker bees you know what they do

[18:58]they have to flap their wings to generate some heat over there

[19:00]imagine round the clock 24 hours a day they take shifts to

[19:05]do that in the summer they spray some water on the honeycomb

[19:10]to keep it cool it's an entire army working my dear brothers

[19:15]and sisters no one in this universe is confused except this miserable

[19:22]human being subhanallah and you know what the irony is we have

[19:28]the intellect allah has given us the great intellect that can perceive

[19:33]his greatness yet we have allowed our desires our weaknesses our temptations

[19:42]to overpower the intellect we have the greatest intellect out of all

[19:47]these creations yet we're the most confused creation fatim teaches us to

[19:54]dispel these misconceptions don't be confused know what your role is center

[19:58]your life around allah subhanahu wa allah subhanahu wa beautifully in the

[20:03]holy quran tells us that the whole universe the entire universe knows

[20:09]what to do and is worshipping allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because it

[20:14]knows what to do but not all people there are some people

[20:16]who are confused allah memorize this fascinating verse verse 18 yes do

[20:30]you not see that everything prostrates to allah submits to allah in

[20:35]the heavens in the earth the sun the moon the stars the

[20:47]mountains what the trees the animals but when allah comes to the

[20:55]people allah doesn't say all people.

[20:57]a lot of people yes they do submit to god but not

[21:03]everyone because there are confused people and this confusion my dear brothers

[21:08]and sisters is the greatest cause of our miseries in the 21st

[21:15]century the loneliness the depression that we have the confusions that we

[21:20]have people are lost people in society don't have a compass because

[21:26]they have not put allah subhanahu ta'ala at the center of their

[21:29]lives the message of lady fatima alaihissalam is to put the almighty

[21:35]god at the center of your life fix yourself in the almighty

[21:44]god not only do you show gratitude but you also come to

[21:49]know him know him through his attributes progresses in her sermon and

[21:56]she states we say that there is no god but allah but

[22:05]what is that the truth of hate means that you dedicate everything

[22:13]to allah and you spend time exploring who god is many of

[22:19]us my dear brothers and sisters we really don't know our creator

[22:23]that's the reality the attributes of allah wa the dimensions of our

[22:29]theology with respect to knowing god how many of us truly know

[22:34]that the more you know and explore the attributes of allah subhanahu

[22:38]ta'ala the more you feel that your life is centered around god

[22:41]and you make the right decisions you're distracted less and less by

[22:46]the glamour and the materialism of this worldly life if i want

[22:53]to follow the footsteps of lady father and honor the legacy of

[22:59]lady father salaam i have to start my dear brothers and sisters

[23:01]by knowing the attributes of allah subhanahu wa allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[23:06]has two types of attributes fatima to zara and her sermon highlight

[23:11]some of these attributes remember she's going through a tragedy you would

[23:17]think she's going to come here tell people about her pain and

[23:24]then later exposed the evil doers expose those who committed acts of

[23:27]injustice but fatah is uses that opportunity to teach the people educate

[23:33]the people and basically she's telling those muslims you think you've known

[23:38]god but you haven't if you truly knew allah you would not

[23:43]have abandoned amir al-mu'min al-istanam and you would not have abandoned fatima

[23:48]the reason why you have succumbed to this injustice is because you

[23:54]still don't know who god is you think you do my dear

[23:58]brothers and sisters many of us we live an entire lifetime thinking

[24:01]we truly know god but do we really know him what are

[24:08]the attributes of allah have some family time at home where you

[24:10]sit with your family discuss the attributes of allah our younger generation

[24:16]has to be raised with the knowledge of god the love of

[24:22]allah subhanahu wa don't say they're young if you submit them to

[24:25]this world and social media there's nothing but destruction these days my

[24:30]dear brothers and sisters now you can't lock up your kids and

[24:34]say okay i'm going to isolate them from the world that's not

[24:36]going to happen but what you can do is have a conversation

[24:40]with them understand how they can navigate the dangers in social media

[24:45]the dangers of our society the distractions of this life and that

[24:49]has to start with a true understanding of allah's attributes allah subhanahu

[24:55]wa ta'ala has two types of attributes allah have a discussion with

[25:12]your family members on these attributes they will change your life my

[25:14]dear brothers and sisters the affirmative attributes of god are those that

[25:22]are inseparable from god they're always with him and they are his

[25:25]essence like knowledge and power knowledge is the essence of allah power

[25:33]is the essence of god god is knowledge god is power they

[25:38]are inseparable from him and that's why the holy quran keeps reminding

[25:44]us allah has the knowledge allah sees he's all seeing he's all

[25:51]hearing now sometimes you just pass by okay of course i know

[25:56]allah is all seeing all hearing but what does that mean how

[26:01]does it work and the best way to know some of these

[26:03]attributes is to examine yourself your attributes your limitations and know that

[26:10]allah is the exact opposite we human beings let's come to this

[26:13]attribute of all seeing we human beings also see but how much

[26:17]can you see what is the range of your vision we cannot

[26:24]see something that's too far even the waves that we can see

[26:30]the light waves that we can see are very limited anything that

[26:33]falls in the ultraviolet region we human beings can't see you need

[26:37]a device to help you see it anything that falls in the

[26:42]infrared region you cannot see it this eye that you have cannot

[26:46]see anything that's in the ultra violet spectrum and also the infrared

[26:53]spectrum you can't see that you're limited but allah subhana wa ta'ala

[26:58]sees everything now how does allah see everything when we know he's

[27:07]not physical he has no eyes i'll give you an example to

[27:11]better understand how allah is with you my dear brothers and sisters

[27:14]keep this example in your mind you'll truly feel the presence of

[27:20]allah wherever you go you'll truly feel that allah through his knowledge

[27:24]he's present with you everywhere think of a place right now that

[27:30]you're very familiar with the most familiar place for you that you

[27:33]spend a lot of time in where would that be let's say

[27:37]your room your bedroom your living room your office a place that

[27:43]you're very familiar with right now close your eyes and imagine your

[27:51]room imagine you're in your room can you see it yes yeah

[27:58]you can see it very clearly it's as if you're there you

[28:02]can see what's to the right to the left you see the

[28:05]ceiling the carpet your closet the drawer you see everything but how

[28:10]did you see it you're here your eyes are not what's giving

[28:14]you that knowledge and that feeling of that presence what is it

[28:19]that gave you that feeling that you're there it's your knowledge when

[28:25]you have knowledge of something you're familiar with something it's as if

[28:29]you're there allah subhanahu wa ta'ala my dear brothers and sisters he

[28:35]sees the entire universe even though he has no eyes but just

[28:41]like you saw your room right now allah sees the entire universe

[28:45]he has full knowledge of it every inch of this universe allah's

[28:50]knowledge is present there feel the presence of allah in your life

[28:55]and center your life around allah subhana wa ta'ala allah is all

[29:00]hearing he knows about everything he's also he's all seeing he knows

[29:05]about everything there are sound waves that we human beings cannot hear

[29:12]some animals can hear sounds that we can't we can the human

[29:16]ear can only hear from 20 hertz to 20 000 hertz anything

[29:21]under 20 anything over 20 000 we can't hear so the supersonic

[29:26]waves those that are over 20 000 hertz we can't hear them

[29:31]bats can hear them that's why bats have a different way of

[29:39]seeing their surroundings at night they can see trees they can see

[29:43]objects they can see animals moving around not with their eyes but

[29:47]with ultrasound allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows of everything that is to

[29:54]be heard in the universe when our families my dear brothers and

[29:58]sisters grow up with this knowledge with this constant reminder then you

[30:06]have that inner compass that will always guide you but do we

[30:11]go through all of this with our families how many of us

[30:15]do that my dear brothers and sisters if our children are well

[30:22]grounded in the love of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the attributes

[30:27]of allah subhanahu wa this will open a new window for them

[30:31]to deal with this society to deal with the social media yesterday

[30:37]we talked about some of the challenges of social media the influence

[30:40]of some of these platforms on our children such as tick tock

[30:45]we have to have honest conversations with our children my dear brothers

[30:50]and sisters what's good for them what's not good for them how

[30:53]do they navigate these waters and protect themselves from all this damage

[30:58]so much damage is being done today many researchers are researching the

[31:06]impact of these social media networks the way that they're changing the

[31:11]mentality of the younger generation the bullying that takes place the feeling

[31:16]of being left out that takes place the depression that it's causing

[31:21]the distraction that it's bringing to their lives we as parents have

[31:25]to sit with our children and have an honest conversation don't say

[31:31]no they're young they don't understand you don't have any other choice

[31:34]if you're not going to sit and have that conversation with them

[31:38]they might go and drown in this treacherous world and then it

[31:44]would be too late there's nothing that you can do but it

[31:48]has to start with allah to center allah subhanahu ta'ala in your

[31:54]life and keep him at the center of all your activities and

[31:59]my dear brothers and sisters one very effective strategy that we can

[32:03]share with our youngsters when you really want to know if this

[32:08]is good for you or not if this matters for you or

[32:12]not today the youngsters are coming and telling you you know i

[32:15]made this comment on tick tock i got 600 000 likes 60

[32:22]000 likes for them it's a big deal it's a big deal

[32:25]it's like it's it should be on the global headlines for them

[32:29]it's a big deal always train yourself and your family and your

[32:35]youngsters that imagine imagine this is a very effective strategy may allah

[32:41]prolong all of your lives but imagine you're told you have two

[32:46]months to live just imagine would that matter for you anymore how

[32:52]many likes you got on that comment why not what changed here

[33:00]the world is still the same world it's the same planet same

[33:04]social media platform same gadget many are the same person how come

[33:10]now everything changed now you don't care doesn't matter what these people

[33:15]are saying on social media or not what they're encouraging me to

[33:21]do what they're discouraging me to do and what's really saddening today

[33:26]you have a culture where there are people they're trying to observe

[33:29]their religious values there are sisters trying to observe the hijab this

[33:33]social media is becoming an obstacle because there's competition go out take

[33:39]out that 30 second clip show as much flesh and skin as

[33:43]much as you can they feel left out and then when one

[33:48]of them decides to take off the hijab allah look at the

[33:52]comments 200 comments supporting her praising her much allah you're courageous you're

[33:56]courageous oh so defying allah is now courage subhanallah look at the

[34:04]world that we're living in defying god openly has now become a

[34:08]sign of a strong identity a sign of courage if you were

[34:15]told you have two months to live would you care about those

[34:22]comments now what changed it doesn't matter because when you consider your

[34:27]fate the achara death what awaits me none of that matters because

[34:33]you know you're going back to allah and many of us we're

[34:36]not ready you know why death is spooky for a lot of

[34:43]people why people disdain death not because death is a moment where

[34:47]allah wants to make you suffer no allah is merciful death is

[34:53]like our graduation if you've prepared well for your graduation you look

[34:57]forward to it you're happy you get that gown you're ready for

[35:02]it you invite your friends if you're on honors role you're even

[35:05]more excited but the one who got an f and they're not

[35:10]graduating how do they look at the day of graduation they hate

[35:16]it do they look forward to it why not is it because

[35:24]graduation is a scary experience experience is it because you get tortured

[35:29]during graduation no because you know you're not prepared for that graduation

[35:33]you're not graduating so you hate that graduation but if you're graduating

[35:38]and you're prepared you'll love it you embrace it that's how a

[35:41]believer who centered his life around allah subhanahu death is a day

[35:47]of graduation i worked hard now allah is going to take care

[35:50]of me for infinity that's it my role is over i've done

[35:54]my part now it's just reward and compensation from allah why should

[35:58]i not look forward to it train your families my dear brothers

[36:04]and sisters using this tragedy strategy which is a tragedy because we

[36:10]don't use it use this strategy my dear brothers and sisters whenever

[36:15]you really want to know how to navigate something whether something matters

[36:19]or not ask yourself imagine if i'm leaving in two months does

[36:23]this now matter or no if you find yourself saying no this

[36:26]doesn't really matter then now you have a built-in compass that always

[36:33]shows you right from wrong lady father was deeply rooted in this

[36:41]understanding of allah that's why when she was young she was maybe

[36:48]9 10 11 12.

[36:50]she was migrating from mecca to medina the prophet was in koba

[36:55]waiting for her waiting for imam ali alayhi salaam the hadith states

[37:02]that imam salam he's now in his early 20s in her early

[37:08]teenage years she's young but as they were migrating and traveling those

[37:13]300 or so miles between mecca and medina they would think and

[37:19]contemplate about this universe they would be lying down remembering allah oh

[37:23]allah were coming to you were migrating for you they would be

[37:28]standing they'd remember god they'd be sitting they would remember allah subhanahu

[37:31]wa ta'ala every village they would stop by during their migration would

[37:37]remember the almighty god she'd look at the stars this universe oh

[37:42]allah you have a purpose for me just like you have a

[37:45]purpose for everything allah subhanahu wa ta'ala honors this beautiful act of

[37:51]worship by imam ali and lady fatham by revealing this verse in

[37:54]the holy quran those who remember allah subhanahu wa ta'ala while they're

[38:05]standing they're sitting on their sides lying down they ponder they contemplate

[38:16]about the creation of the heavens and the earth this is not

[38:20]in vain you have a greater purpose i see the bigger picture

[38:24]in this universe look how fatima was so special in the eyes

[38:29]of allah that when she did this act of worship allah revealed

[38:35]and a verse in the holy quran honoring her father felt comfort

[38:39]just mentioning the name of god living with the remembrance of allah

[38:43]subhanahu wa ta'ala the hadith states she worked so hard in her

[38:50]house to the point that her own hands became calloused you know

[38:54]sometimes when you're grinding the wheat using those old conventional grinders it's

[39:01]a piece of rock it callouses your hand to the point where

[39:08]sometimes her hands would bleed and sometimes she would light the fire

[39:12]in order to cook a loaf of bread for her and her
