[1:31][Music] [Laughter] [Music] me [Music] [Laughter] [Music] on [Applause] [Music] is [Music]
[3:03]shame [Music] [Music] is [Music] [Laughter] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music]
[4:38]dear brothers and sisters thank you very much for joining us for
[4:43]the second day of the lectures thank you so much please welcome
[4:46]our dear reciter with allowed us muhammad this is um for all
[6:03]the scholars sacrificed their lives for islam for the shahada that sacrificed
[6:11]their lives for islam for the march of all those that are
[6:17]gathered here for the mean of all the men around the world
[6:21]please recite [Music] m [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] in
[8:23][Music] and return of our beloved imam salawat for us to be
[8:37]of those who get to see the imam in our lifetime and
[8:41]be of service to him recite the second one louder and for
[8:50]the love of the lady father [Music] respected elders my dear [Music]
[9:20]tonight we don't know if we'll get this opportunity again so insha'allah
[9:36]tonight i try to be brief in my talk so we can
[9:44]make the most of the music and the latin recital please since
[9:52]some of you may not have been here yesterday for our discussion
[9:58]maybe some of you were not feeling well so i'll briefly summarize
[10:05]some of the points that we made yesterday and then continue with
[10:09]our discussion so yesterday we spoke about some of the characteristics of
[10:19]the lady father and how we can relate to her and one
[10:26]of the things that we spoke about was the issue of bella
[10:33]of calamities of tragedies because living in this time many of us
[10:38]are facing many challenges in life and we start questioning ourselves like
[10:46]why me why us why are my family members going through these
[10:49]issues why is my son facing these issues in school or with
[10:54]his friends so we touched on this and we went through some
[10:57]of the ayat and some raw that touched and spoke about the
[11:01]subject for example one of the ayaats that we read do people
[11:13]think they'll be left to learn just because they say that we
[11:19]believe it's a reminder to every single one of us that we
[11:25]can't just say that we're followers of the we can't just say
[11:32]that verbally we have to show that in action when problems and
[11:35]challenges come our way that's when we'll find out how strong we
[11:40]are in our belief please so we realized that it's not only
[12:06]only individuals that have done something bad or wrong will face challenges
[12:11]we looked at some examples from the lady father and the amount
[12:22]of tragedies and afflictions that she faced we realized the best of
[12:26]people had the most difficult of tests it's not always because we're
[12:33]a bad person our son is a bad person our family member
[12:36]is a bad person that we face these problems there was otherwise
[12:39]that we mentioned for example that a person will be tested according
[12:48]to the degree of his conviction in faith his iman so the
[12:54]stronger that the iman will be the stronger that test will be
[13:00]now some of you may be thinking okay alhamdulillah we've realized that
[13:04]you know the best of people who are tested so does that
[13:09]mean that we're all just going to face hardships in our life
[13:12]and that's it god's going to leave us but sometimes it's due
[13:39]to our own decisions our wrong decisions speaking at the wrong time
[13:44]that we put ourselves in a more difficult situation life could have
[13:50]been could have been made a lot easier we had that free
[13:55]will and choice to decide for example when it was in a
[13:59]relationship in the house speaking to our mother or our partner our
[14:03]friend or our brother or maybe another student can't always just say
[14:09]oh this is god's fault so god gave you that free will
[14:13]and choice he didn't say to you to go and argue with
[14:16]this person and say this or belittle this person no but if
[14:23]we're put in a situation we know god will get us through
[14:29]it just always remind yourself that if god has put or bring
[14:35]this obstacle in my life maybe a loss of a child maybe
[14:36]a loss of a loved one financial difficulties or problem in education
[14:42]where you're struggling just remember he is my creator everything belongs to
[14:51]him my existing everything is a manat of god my breath my
[14:58]health my children my education everything it belongs to allah so we
[15:07]need to try and return these trusts in the best of ways
[15:10]please so continuing on from this discussion i don't want to touch
[15:22]on that concept of the wisdom behind it and the reasons behind
[15:26]it too much inshaallah we'll leave that for another time but one
[15:32]of the calamities and tragedies or difficulties that the prophet faced during
[15:40]his time people used to belittle the prophet they used to insult
[15:46]the prophet there was many ways in which they did this throughout
[15:50]his life before he established his government and afterwards he was even
[15:57]disrespected on his deathbed one of the things that he was disrespected
[16:05]with was people used to call him what do we mean by
[16:15]actor that's like the verse that i read at this time was
[16:18]sunnah let's look at this a little bit and then we'll continue
[16:21]with our discussion so how does the narration go why was this
[16:26]verse revealed so there's a man by the name of our sibling
[16:31]he's a leader of the pagans the chief of these pagans he
[16:37]comes to see the prophet and he's speaking to the prophet in
[16:46]masjid al-haram and then at a distance there's some quraysh that are
[16:51]sitting there watching so now this awesome he leaves and he goes
[17:00]towards these people these people asking who are you speaking to he
[17:09]says i was speaking to the one who is up top why
[17:14]did he say this as you know in the arab world they
[17:20]used to use this word [Music] to ones that didn't have any
[17:27]sons they didn't have any successes after them because he asked in
[17:32]a while he knew that for example the prophet had lost his
[17:38]son abdullah also known as so he used this word to belittle
[17:46]and defame and insult the prophet he used to ridicule the prophet
[17:49]so to console the prophet because at that time the prophet didn't
[17:54]have any children that left the world what do we mean by
[18:09]kothik we look at a few of our narrations especially khalsa what
[18:43]does it mean by abundance of goodness because remember keep in mind
[18:48]why this verse was revealed to the prophet the story of ah
[18:51]according to a narration so some of our narrations they say that
[19:00]is a stream in paradise that was given to the prophet it's
[19:05]a stream in paradise that is whiter than a goblet which is
[19:10]made of christmas and another narration i think is from imam he
[19:16]says there's a stream in paradise that was given to the prophet
[19:20]to console him for his loss of his son another narration that
[19:28]many a time that we hear that the meaning of we don't
[29:39]look at our towards our family members let's look at a few
[29:44]narrations let's look at ayat from the quran where god says in
[29:47]the quran bismillah i do not ask anything of you except you
[30:01]worship you worship me and then alongside that he's mentioned what be
[30:07]good to your parents then the verse continues it says if one
[30:14]of them or both of them reach old age do not say
[30:18]as much as of to them but speak to them in a
[30:22]kind manner many of us we think why are we not spiritually
[30:28]accepted let's look at our relationship with our parents let's see how
[30:35]our o'clock is towards our parents how our clock is with the
[30:39]other household members what are the montmenine salawat please now over these
[30:52]nights when you've attended majalis if you attended last night or other
[30:56]programs at other centers we've heard many narrations in regards to the
[31:03]father one of the narrations that we've heard is in the happiness
[31:09]of fatima lies the happiness of rasulullah and in turn of allah
[31:16]similarly in regards to parents a reminder to all of us who
[31:21]have our parents may god give them all a long life and
[31:24]healthy life in sha allah salawat for their health and well-being similar
[31:38]to that narration we find in regards to parents and respecting one's
[31:44]appearances in the satisfaction of the parents lies the satisfaction of allah
[31:53]in the dissatisfaction of those parents lies the dissatisfaction of allah this
[32:03]is not something small many of us just because for example we
[32:11]are financially helping or supporting our parents we think we can disrespect
[32:16]our parents we think just because our parents have reached old age
[32:26]we can speak to them in an angry way we'll answer them
[32:29]back and shout and raise our voices what do our narrations say
[32:35]you know this is mentioned you know akka walidain causing displeasure to
[32:40]one's parents through either words or actions is mentioned alongside the like
[32:46]shirk it's not something we should take lightly we have other narrations
[32:54]that say you know you some things have effects in this world
[33:00]and in the hereafter or some things your some of your actions
[33:05]only have effects in this one or sometimes in the hereafter one
[33:10]of the ways in which one can increase one's sustenance or increase
[33:18]one's lifespan is through pleasing the parents this is from our narration
[33:23]this is no saint kambar over here giving you his own words
[33:28]and one way of actually reducing one's lifespan and reducing one substance
[33:35]is disrespecting and causing harm to parents so let's not shy away
[33:47]of helping our parents even when there's a dispute or you know
[33:54]we may have differences with our parents this doesn't give us a
[33:57]right to disrespect them we're followers of the lady fatima of if
[34:05]america can't be exactly like them we definitely can't let's try to
[34:10]learn from them how much love did they show to their parents
[34:14]even if our parents are non-muslim does islam say disrespect your parents
[34:20]even if they are not non-muslim we should still show that love
[34:25]and compassion for our parents recite salawat please that's in regards to
[34:39]parents let's look at say the father aleja's life who is she
[34:46]she's a mother she's a wife as i said today the family
[34:56]the importance of family is being neglected why even though we know
[35:02]it's a very important factor one of the reasons why this abundance
[35:08]of goodness that spread through say the fatima salaam allah alayha is
[35:13]through this institute of family but many of us we put off
[35:19]marriage we put off children having children why because we think if
[35:28]we get married or if we have children it'll put a hindrance
[35:33]into the goals that we want to achieve the lifestyle that we
[35:37]want to live if we have children or if we get married
[35:41]this is going to cause hiccups in my life i won't be
[35:46]able to be as successful but look at the most successful of
[35:52]people we say lady father is our example our examples our role
[36:02]models to follow they all got married when did they get married
[36:10]at what age it doesn't have to be that exact age that
[36:14]the imams got married but they gave importance to this family they
[36:19]got married young rasa why do many of us delay marriage when
[36:34]we know we're all after some sort of peace and comfort in
[36:37]life every single one of you sitting here you say i want
[36:39]to be you know i want to have a peaceful life i
[36:42]want to have a successful life even though this will will come
[36:46]with challenges which we spoke about yesterday but we want some sort
[36:50]of success and peace and comfort and one of the institutions that
[36:57]islam has advised and encouraged a lot is marriage so through this
[37:04]marriage you will find peace and comfort but why do we put
[37:08]it off there are many reasons that people give you know maybe
[37:14]some may say i'm studying right now my education some may say
[37:20]we can't afford it it's very expensive to get married nowadays but
[37:26]not during the pandemic but generally a lot of people say we
[37:32]don't have the finances available to get married or sometimes it's due
[37:36]to our parents the child wants to get married he's ready he
[37:39]he knows that he wants to continue on his journey by being
[37:44]with someone but no the parents will sin no not yet sir
[37:51]or not yet daughter let's go back to the narrations let's go
[37:57]back to our role models you know financial struggle financial things shouldn't
[38:07]put a hindrance to us not getting married why do we make
[38:10]our life so difficult why do our weddings have to be so
[38:17]expensive with all the cultural things that come with it and all
[38:22]the expenses that come with it so go back to say the
[38:27]for how simple were their lives how simple were the lives of
[38:31]the babylon they had wealth at their disposal they could have used
[38:36]it to live lavish lives but no we look for example let's
[38:42]say the fatima salaam you know when her father fatima binti rasula
[38:47]her father has established his government he's gained a lot of power
[38:54]and authority his wealth at his disposal he could have chosen to
[38:57]use this and live extravagantly and lavishly no she had a simple
[39:05]life how was her wedding on the car how she got married
[39:10]to a middle mommy you know in many of our gatherings in
[39:17]our weddings and our celebrations sometimes i think we forget who we're
[39:22]following now like we said yesterday that saying i am a lover
[39:29]or we are lovers of the lovers of the prophet we're followers
[39:36]of the prophet it comes with responsibility there's not only a responsibility
[39:42]when we're sitting here at this majoralis in our wedding celebrations in
[39:47]our lord that's in our shahadat wherever we may be now god
[39:52]forbid in some of our gatherings this music dancing and then we
[40:00]say with the role of our role models this is what the
[40:06]enemies used to do let's look a bit more at this family
[40:21]life of i said i won't take too much time as i
[40:30]know we're here to mourn but there's a few more aspects that
[40:36]we want to touch on one of the things we see in
[40:42]many relationships is we put extra burden on each other not just
[40:47]a husband and wife it could be a brother or sister or
[40:50]a parent a child towards their parent sometimes we request things that
[40:58]we know for example our loved one cannot afford when we look
[41:01]at say the fatima s life do we see that she's ever
[41:08]requested anything from a middleman or anything that he couldn't provide these
[41:16]things are not it's not just history many of these things that
[41:19]we see if we talk about the hijra talk about certain rewards
[41:23]it's not or certain historical events it's not just history we just
[41:27]say for example this happened that happened and i said no we
[41:29]need to take lessons from these things we can relate to these
[41:34]things in our time don't just keep it as something that happened
[41:39]in history and that's it we'll just carry on with our life
[41:44]now let's take these as our examples so we see she never
[41:53]put the extra burden on her partner and likewise nor did a
[41:55]middleman meaning they knew the times that they were living in what
[42:03]happened sometimes today in some communities that for example one of our
[42:14]neighbors has brought a new car let's use that as an example
[42:19]now this wife at home her husband comes back from work he
[42:26]says she says i want to buy a new car.
[42:30]or for example they may see that a family member or a
[42:37]neighbor down the road they've made an extension they've had a loft
[42:43]conversion or extension they've made another room in the house this woman
[42:49]or sometimes it may be the husband as well she'll say to
[42:55]her husband do you know down the road that extension is beautiful
[42:59]they may already have three bedrooms in the house there's one child
[43:04]they have more than enough space but no let's say you know
[43:11]what i think we need an extension so why are we putting
[43:16]this extra burden on our partners if we know the financial capabilities
[43:21]of our partners we know right now they're financially struggling would it
[43:29]be right to put extra burden on our husband that extra stress
[43:34]and then if you do want that then you'll have to go
[43:37]and work he'll have to get one or two or three jobs
[43:41]and then when he gets that then they will complain now he's
[43:44]always at work he doesn't help in the house there's no time
[43:49]for the children it's like come on let's get our priorities right
[43:52]if you want that and then you complain about this come on
[43:56]let's not make our life harder now we've been married some of
[44:01]you been married five years 10 years 20 years may inshallah you
[44:03]stay married for a long time but let's make our lives easier
[44:10]for each other let's not put this extra stress on one another
[44:14]another another point that i think is neglected greatly in the lady
[44:25]fatima zahara salaam allah's life is what we commonly refer to as
[44:36]a stay-at-home mother some people say stay at home mother someone who
[44:41]doesn't work sometimes some of our sisters they may meet up with
[44:53]other sisters other professionals who are working and sometimes these sisters may
[44:59]feel shy when someone speaks to them and says they're just introducing
[45:06]themselves i say what's your name or what do you do some
[45:10]of these blessed mothers to get a bit shy that to say
[45:14]you know what i don't work but there's no shyness in this
[45:19]why should they be shyness you know this woman this mother who's
[45:24]sacrificing you know her pleasures her comforts her wants for what for
[45:33]her children is there shyness in that why should there be shyness
[45:39]which is following say the father i'm not saying that all women
[45:47]should stay at home but let's not neglect this part let's not
[45:51]belittle these mothers sometimes just because someone has progressed and become a
[45:58]professional or got a senior position this woman to look down on
[46:04]other women that don't work no if the woman doesn't have to
[46:06]work don't force her to work you know we don't need to
[46:13]force our women yes some women they may have to work they
[46:16]see the need but let's see what we're going to compromise are
[46:19]we going to compromise our children for our comforts and wants bringing
[46:26]up children is not easy task it's not a small task you
[46:30]know many a times we say we want to reform society we
[46:34]want society to get better where does this reform start it's at
[46:39]home this small society that you have home this is the future
[46:47]these children these youth are sitting here this is the future the
[46:53]future leaders in politics in health in education the leaders of these
[47:01]organizations scholars alama these youth we're not going to live for long
[47:04]this is the future it's not something small that these mothers are
[47:09]doing let's not belittle these mothers just a few points for us
[47:16]brothers to remember when this woman has sacrificed so much for our
[47:23]children she's following the steps of say the father that sacrificed so
[47:31]much for her children many a time we take it for granted
[47:36]we you know our expectations are so high our expectations of our
[47:47]mothers are so high just a note for our brothers be a
[47:52]bit more considerate towards our mothers especially those with young children especially
[47:58]those with young children it's not an easy task bringing up children
[48:03]you know that mother you know the night before she may have
[48:09]had slept for a few hours her children kept up kept her
[48:14]up all night while many of us were just snoring away then
[48:19]she wakes up in the morning she tends to her children she
[48:23]gets their breakfast ready she brushes their teeth washes their face then
[48:26]one of them may have an accident she becomes a doctor and
[48:31]she's got so many things going on in her mind and before
[48:34]you know the day is over you know many a time we
[48:41]come back from work and we think you know subhanallah we come
[48:44]back and you know there's toys and mess everywhere the dishes are
[48:48]not done you know you see he sees his wife and you
[48:53]know her hijab or hair is all over the places like what's
[48:57]happened here he just i don't know maybe he walks out of
[49:03]the house in an extreme case no let's be considerate of these
[49:07]mothers they've had a difficult time they're bringing up your children it's
[49:11]not anyone else's children sometimes we think we can leave our children
[49:16]so other people can educate them it's a good thing you know
[49:22]where we are not qualified they should approach others but we are
[49:29]meant to approach them i know tonight we're all here for the
[49:36]music and to mourn the lady father and we'll have brother i
[49:47]just want to share a few words of meseba before we continue
[49:54]recite salawat please so just for a few moments let's take our
[50:08]hearts to medina let's switch off the lights for a few months
[50:13]let's put all of our problems aside our problems about our family
[50:16]problems problems with organizations any other problems that we have let's just
[50:22]focus on this lady who are we mourning today it's not an
[50:29]ordinary woman fatima binti how much respect did the prophet show to
[50:36]this lady throughout his life he's being fought my mother ottoman her
[50:47]father is a part of me you know he would hold her
[50:54]hand said this is farting the one who hurts her hurts me
[50:58]i know it's late and many of you are tired but let
[51:01]me just share a few words i know it's very difficult to
[51:06]speak about the maseiba of the lady just for a few moments
[51:12]we were talking about parents and children young children how hard it
[51:18]is just imagine on a night like this how the young children
[51:21]of save the father how the father of he's feeling he's grieving
[51:40]he's about to say his farewell to the lady father you know
[51:48]what has happened it's been 95 days what happened how she was
[51:58]treated like a queen while the prophet was alive what happened straight
[52:04]after the death of the prophet saw 95 days only god knows
[52:23]how these days passed you know it said just to get the
[52:37]allegiance from this household this household this the malayan they approached the
[52:42]house many times not just once we sometimes mistake this remember this
[52:47]is the door that the prophet would send his salams many times
[52:54]malaina approached this door to try and pledge allegiance but they got
[52:59]fed up they couldn't get allegiance and they went back at one
[53:06]time the malaina had enough they couldn't keep going back and forth
[53:09]and passing on messages they say there were so many people gathered
[53:14]there they're standing there with fire and they threaten the daughter of
[53:19]rasulullah you know many of us we get upset when someone you
[53:23]know says something you know shouts out our mother or looks our
[53:28]mother in a bad way but god forbid allahu akbar especially the
[53:34]mothers that are listening please forgive me and the fathers that are
[53:40]listening i know many of you have lost young children many of
[53:44]you have lost children once you are pregnant many have lost children
[53:52]while you are pregnant when you were in the hospital and you
[53:58]heard those words that you can't hear a heartbeat many of you
[54:04]the whole world fell in front of you that allah worked with
[54:10]my child mothers are asking her there was no one harming you
[54:19]in that hospital when you found out look at the lady for
[54:24]atma to zara they say they started burning the door of the
[54:27]lady fatima to zahara someone asked that imam one of her moms
[54:33]what happened to your mother how did she pass away you know
[54:39]what happened after they came and burnt the door of the lady
[54:43]fatima to zahara and she was between the wall and the door
[54:45]said one malay came and hit say the faster my salam allah
