[0:05]Alhamdulillah.
[0:31]Brothers and sisters, may Allah subhana wa tala accept all of the
[0:40]deeds that you have performed or shall perform in the month of
[0:46]Ramadan.
[0:50]Amen.
[0:52]>> In yesterday's lecture, we shed light on the concept of love,
[0:59]the concept of unconditional and endless love for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[1:05]And what led us to this concept is the word of ima
[1:13]when he says to Allah subhana wa ta'ala If you place me
[1:27]in hellfire, oh Allah, if on the day of judgment you bring
[1:31]me into hellfire, I will inform its inhabitants that I love you.
[1:38]And we said that hellfire is the most painful and horrific place
[1:48]in existence.
[1:47]There is no place that is more painful or heartbreaking or horrific
[1:53]or awful than Jahnam.
[1:59]Hence those who enter Jahindam will experience extreme outstanding unimaginable physical, emotional
[2:06]and spiritual pain.
[2:07]Even then the Imm says to Allah subhana wa ta'ala, "Ya Allah,
[2:12]if on the day of judgment you sentence me to hell and
[2:18]you bring me into hellfire, then know that I will inform its
[2:22]inhabitants that I love you." Which means that the love of their
[2:28]love for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is unconditional love, everlasting love.
[2:35]They know that Allahawel is beautiful.
[2:39]In fact, he is ultimate beauty and perfection.
[2:43]And they know as a result that Allahawel will never commit any
[2:49]injustice.
[2:50]If he brings anyone into Jahannam on the day of judgment, it's
[2:55]because that individual misbehaved.
[2:57]That individual deserved to be punished by the almighty subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[3:06]So, And the rest of the imment makes a statement that you
[3:18]heard in which was read by the imams in general.
[3:21]They also make a similar statement.
[3:26]Ya Allah, if you bring us into hellfire, we will inform the
[3:30]people of hellfire that we love you.
[3:35]Here the imam reminds us all of working on our love.
[3:39]Our love for allahel should be unconditional.
[3:43]It should be endless.
[3:45]Whatever Allah decrees that we go through, regardless of what he decrees,
[3:50]regardless of the ups and downs and the hardships or blessings that
[3:58]we live or experience, a person's love for Allah subhana wa ta'ala
[4:04]should not be affected.
[4:04]This is one lesson that imam gives us through the statement that
[4:13]you heard.
[4:11]But there are also other lessons.
[4:14]Another lesson that we learn from the im and he says is
[4:22]to be creative my brothers and sisters in being creative in the
[4:31]means that you choose to get closer to Allah and or to
[4:33]attain the fulfillment of your needs.
[4:36]Realize the im tells allahel Allah if you bring me into jahannam
[4:44]I will inform the people of jahannam that I love you.
[4:46]Can you imagine if someone actually enters Jahannam and he starts telling
[4:51]people I love my lord I love allahel what will be Allah's
[4:58]reply or in better terms how will Allah subhana wa ta'ala treat
[5:04]that individual will he keep him in most likely he will not
[5:12]because allahel is the all merciful such a deed will bring down
[5:16]mercy from the all merciful subhana wa ta'ala.
[5:21]Such a deed will bring down forgiveness from he who is all
[5:25]forgiving.
[5:26]So when the im says teaches us to be creative in what
[5:39]inul which means or what means are you going to use to
[5:42]get closer to Allah and or to attain the fulfillment of your
[5:49]needs.
[5:47]One might say for example, "Ya Allah, if you bring me into
[5:54]hellfire, then I will pray in for you.
[5:56]I will worship you over there so that he attains the forgiveness
[6:01]and the mercy of Allah.
[6:04]Ya Allah, if you bring me into on the day of judgment,
[6:11]I will cry for a innam.
[6:13]In fact, I will recite for the im in being creative in
[6:18]being creative in the means that we choose to get closer to
[6:24]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and or to attain the fulfillment of our
[6:29]needs is a lesson that as teaches us when he says A
[6:38]third lesson is a person should never lose hope in Allah subhanahu
[6:45]wa ta'ala even if the day of judgment begins and he witnesses
[6:50]that he is going through ultimate trouble in fact even if Allah
[6:59]tala sentences that individual to jahan he should still have hope that
[7:05]perhaps allahel will forgive me.
[7:07]Perhaps Allah subhanana wa ta'ala will bless me.
[7:09]Perhaps allahel will tell the angels before they throw me into jahannam
[7:19]to take me to heaven.
[7:21]And the opposite is also true.
[7:23]If a person enters jahannam, if a person is placed in the
[7:27]abboard of punishment, he should not lose hope in allahel.
[7:32]You should still have hope that perhaps allahel sooner or later will
[7:36]pull me out of the abode of punishment.
[7:39]One might say, but how does that make sense?
[7:45]If Allahawel decrees on the day of judgment to place me in
[7:49]the abode of punishment, how can I still have hope that he
[7:55]will forgive me?
[7:55]How can I still have hope that perhaps he will bring down
[8:01]forgiveness and mercy upon me when it's clear that I failed my
[8:03]test?
[8:04]I failed my test in this world.
[8:10]To understand this issue, my friends, it is essential to understand the
[8:14]following point.
[8:15]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala does not break his promise when he promises
[8:21]to reward the human being.
[8:26]For example, he tells us through alquran or through the words of
[8:31]that if someone commits a particular good deed, he will receive a
[8:39]particular reward.
[8:38]When the human being performs that good deed, Allah gives him the
[8:43]reward because if he doesn't, he will be breaking his promise.
[8:48]And Allah is what?
[8:51]Surely Allah does not break his promise.
[8:55]Allahel mentions this.
[9:00]Surely Allah does not break his promise.
[9:03]However, when Allah tala promises to punish the individual, he says through
[9:10]the Quran or that if someone commits a particular sin like fornication,
[9:18]like backbiting, like drinking wine or other sins, he will receive a
[9:25]particular punishment.
[9:28]When the human being commits the sin, he will become what?
[9:32]meaning he will deserve the punishment of Allah.
[9:37]But it will be Allah's right to punish him and it will
[9:45]be Allah's right to let go of his right.
[9:47]I'm going to repeat the statement.
[9:49]It will be Allah's right to punish that individual because he misbehaved.
[9:53]But it's also Allah's right to let go of his right.
[9:56]It's his right to say I I do not want to exact
[10:00]punishment to bring down punishment upon that individual.
[10:06]Bear in mind Allah subhana t is right.
[10:11]However, as says and he's also which indicates that Allah's mercy is
[10:24]not bestowed upon people in a random manner.
[10:28]When Allah tala bestows mercy upon someone, there is a wise reason
[10:33]or there's a wisdom behind bestowing mercy on that individual.
[10:38]Sometimes wisdom decrees that this individual must be punished.
[10:46]So allahel chooses to punish him.
[10:49]Long story short, Allahel Allah's actions are all wise.
[10:52]His actions never contradict wisdom.
[10:57]Sometimes what will be wise, the wise thing to do will be
[11:03]to bestow mercy upon the human being.
[11:05]And sometimes the wise thing to do will be to bestow punishment,
[11:11]to punish the criminal, to punish the one who violated the laws
[11:15]of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[11:17]If this is clear, we'll understand why we said earlier that even
[11:21]if Allah ta'ala decrees to punish us on their judgment.
[11:27]Even if we're sentenced to hellfire, we should still have hope.
[11:30]Perhaps Allah will forgive us before we enter hellfire.
[11:36]Perhaps he will tell his angels to take us back to heaven
[11:46]to take us to the abode of reward.
[11:52]Imam has another marvelous statement in dua which confirms whatever we just
[12:01]said.
[12:02]It is by far one of the most touching and heartbreaking segments
[12:05]in dua Hamza.
[12:09]If you want to hear it, the im says imagine the scene.
[12:24]Imagine that right now we are living the day of judgment and
[12:27]this is happening to us.
[12:32]My God, if you were to chain me on that day, Allah
[12:34]commands his angels to put chains on you and me, to put
[12:40]chains on us, to tie us with chains, and you deprive me
[12:50]of your grants on that day in the presence of the witnesses.
[13:00]and you expose me on that day.
[13:06]You reveal my indecent and awful traits.
[13:10]You reveal my indecent and awful actions and you command me to
[13:22]enter hellfire or you command the angels or your vice germs to
[13:26]throw me into hellfire and you create a barrier that lies between
[13:36]me and your rightous ious servants as in you show me that
[13:45]you will not dwell in heaven with Muhammaduam.
[13:51]>> You will not dwell in heaven with the prophets with the
[13:56]closers of God the believers.
[14:01]What will happen?
[14:04]What do you want to tell allahel?
[14:08]If all of these events or occurrences take place, he says, if
[14:12]the day judgment arrives and you chain me, you deprive me of
[14:15]your grants in the presence of the witnesses, you command that I
[14:22]be placed in hellfire and you create a barrier that lies between
[14:27]me and your close slaves.
[14:31]And on top of that, you expose me.
[14:35]You reveal my indecent traits and my indecent deeds to the people.
[14:38]If all of this happens, ya Allah, if all of this happens,
[14:47]I will still have hope that you will bestow mercy upon me.
[14:57]And I will still have hope that you will bring down forgiveness,
[15:04]that you will bring down pardon upon me.
[15:09]and your love will not exit my heart.
[15:12]Meaning I will continue to love you.
[15:14]Which reminds us of the segment that we recited at the start
[15:20]of the lecture today and we recited yesterday as well.
[15:22]But why?
[15:24]If Allah has sentenced me to hellfire, why should I still have
[15:29]hope in him?
[15:28]Subhan wa ta'ala because he is allahel.
[15:31]He is the all merciful.
[15:35]He is he is the best of those who conceal the slaves.
[15:41]The Imam tells me in you why he says, "Oh Allah, I
[15:58]do not forget the blessings that you bestowed upon me when I
[16:03]was in." Each one of us, my friends, is showered.
[16:06]And I really mean showered by blessings from Allah subhanahu wa tala.
[16:13]Allah tala showers each individual with countless blessings.
[16:19]The Quran says if you were to count the blessings of God,
[16:23]they will not come to an end.
[16:25]And I do not forget the fact that when I was in
[16:33]you would conceal me.
[16:37]You would not expose me.
[16:38]Those two deeds that stem from Allah showering the human being with
[16:43]blessings and concealing the defaults, the defects of the human being, concealing
[16:49]his sins indicate that Allah is what?
[16:53]that Allah tala is and if we understand this we'll know that
[17:00]one can never lose hope in in he who is the most
[17:09]merciful out of those who are merciful hence have shed light on
[17:14]multiple scenes not just one scene multiple scenes many scenes that will
[17:18]take place on the day of judgment which tell you a lot
[17:24]about Allah's mercy Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[17:26]Let me conclude today's English lecture with one sin and tomorrow inshallah
[17:31]we'll continue with dua abs.
[17:31]Of course we have an Arabic lecture after the English lecture inshallah.
[17:35]The imam inform us of what?
[17:40]Of multiple scenes that will take place on that day which reveal
[17:43]the impeccable and outstanding mercy of Allah.
[17:47]But bear in mind my brothers and sisters, his mercy should not
[17:51]be taken for granted.
[17:55]When I hear verses or narrations that tell me how merciful Allah
[17:59]subhanahu wa ta'ala is, I should use these verses or narrations to
[18:04]instill hope in my heart.
[18:06]But I should not fool myself into believing that even if I
[18:14]misbehave day and night, I will succeed in the hereafter.
[18:17]This is what we call meaning you feel safe from Allah's punishment
[18:22]and that is one of the greatest sins that one may commit.
[18:29]Think of the following.
[18:31]There were people in the past who committed great deeds but they
[18:35]ended up being destroyed.
[18:39]They were led to their doom.
[18:40]Why?
[18:41]Because they deviated.
[18:43]Shaitan is a clear example right?
[18:49]What was Shaitan?
[18:47]He was a jin and still is a but he was amongst
[18:53]the angels.
[18:52]He would worship Allah with the angels.
[18:55]Today what is he?
[18:59]A shaitan a devil.
[19:02]On the day of judgment where does he go?
[19:05]To heaven goes to hellfire.
[19:06]He deviated.
[19:06]And so a person should not take Allah's mercy for granted.
[19:11]The narration says as you can find in the book in the
[19:17]book for Hussein was one of the companions of our imams.
[19:23]The narration is by Abdah.
[19:26]He says or he's not to have said on the day of
[19:37]judgment a slave of God will be brought forth and this individual
[19:40]will not have one single good deed.
[19:43]Meaning he will not have one single good deed recorded in his
[19:50]book or one single good deed that is left for him.
[19:53]He says He will be told try to remember did you perform
[20:05]a good deed meaning did you perform a good deed when you
[20:09]were in a duny now obviously Allah knows subhana wa tala but
[20:13]Allah wants him to remember and wants him to mention his good
[20:17]deed you can also read it in the following He says, "My
[20:32]Lord, I did not commit a good deed.
[20:35]I cannot think of any good deeds other than one good deed.
[20:40]When one day your servant fan, who was a believer, came by
[20:48]me and he asked me for water.
[20:50]He wanted the water to perform.
[20:56]He wanted the water to perform the do so he will pray
[21:00]and so I gave him the water.
[21:01]That is the good deed that I remember at the moment.
[21:07]The tradition says Allah will say bring my slave into heaven because
[21:20]of what?
[21:22]Because of that one good deed which he performed.
[21:27]Now, one might misuse this motivation and he might say this means
[21:33]we're allowed to misbehave as much as we want and as long
[21:35]as we perform one good deed, we'll be saved.
[21:37]No, that's not the message that the imams want to give.
[21:40]Whenever we read a narration from we to understand the goal behind
[21:46]the narration, the goal is not to give us the green light
[21:49]to sing.
[21:50]The goal is to tell us that each good deed is marvelous
[21:53]in the eyes of Allah subhana wa tala.
[21:55]Even if we believe that the good deed is small or is
[22:01]minute.
[22:02]Secondly, the goal behind this narration is to instill hope in your
[22:08]heart.
[22:09]The God who might bring one of his slaves into heaven because
[22:17]he committed one good deed is a merciful in fact extremely merciful
[22:21]God.
[22:22]Hence, one should not lose hope in him.
[22:26]Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[22:25]One question remains and I'll quickly answer it before we go to
[22:30]the Arabic lecture.
[22:29]One might say, "But how could this be?
[22:32]This person, it seems that this person mentioned in the narration did
[22:38]not commit any good deeds other than the good deed that was
[22:42]mentioned.
[22:43]And we know that salat is there's a bunch of that a
[22:50]person should perform to be saved on the day of judgment.
[22:52]Then again there's a list of muharamat a list of bads that
[22:58]we should avoid to be saved.
[22:58]So how can we accept this narration?
[23:00]I'm going to give you one interpretation that will help you absorb
[23:05]the narration.
[23:07]Inshallah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[23:08]When I'm mentioning this interpretation I need to tell you that this
[23:12]is a possibility.
[23:14]Perhaps this is what will take place.
[23:17]Hence the iman mentioned whatever you just heard on the day of
[23:22]judgment.
[23:23]Prince, people will be judged by allahel and Allah tala will give
[23:29]the rights will retrieve the rights of the oppressed from what?
[23:34]From their oppressors.
[23:35]Sometimes you are a person who's a well-wisher and you do lots
[23:41]of good deeds but at the same time you oppress many people.
[23:43]As a result on the day of judgment you have to give
[23:48]them their rights.
[23:48]How can I give people their rights on the day of judgment?
[23:55]Rights are given through good deeds.
[23:58]Hence perhaps this person that the narration is talking about had many
[24:02]good deeds but he lost all of them through the injustice that
[24:08]he had committed in meaning he had to give this to other
[24:11]human beings and at the end there was only one hass left.
[24:17]But that hass was enough to bring him into heaven.
[24:20]We ask allahel to make us from those who are saved in
[24:25]the hereafter and were placed in the highest stations of heaven with
[24:32]Muhammad.
[24:30]Muhammad was Muhammad Muhammad.
