[27:13]one of my favorite segments especially for cartoons before we start will
[27:19]be ever present i'll be too far away can you try that
[27:50]so a couple months ago i offered to do a talk on
[27:56]a certain topic and it's something that we do probably about 120
[28:01]or 200 times during my talk we do 720 times an hour
[28:05]17 000 times during the day and 6 million 300 000 times
[28:11]during the year does anybody have an idea what we're going to
[28:14]do what we do breathe exactly that breathing so my talk today
[28:23]is about the lost article so with breathing it's not just about
[28:33]so when we breathe we take in billions of molecules of air
[28:37]every time we take a breath it goes into our body by
[28:41]our lungs into the lung into the bloodstream and carried along by
[28:45]these hemoglobin or red blood cell corpuscles into our bodies where it
[28:49]finally meets the actual engine in which the oxygen is used to
[28:52]create energy but breathing isn't just about creating energy yeah it covers
[28:59]so much more it does so much more to our bodies and
[29:04]it affects every single organ that we have within us it affects
[29:07]our our cardiovascular system where it regulates our heart rhythm our heart
[29:12]rate our blood pressure it can affect our brain in terms of
[29:18]memories uh it causes various chemical releases which can affect our mood
[29:22]and can affect our mental health too it affects our digestion our
[29:26]nervous system and our immune system such that it helps with regard
[29:31]to fighting infections and also warding off autoimmune diseases or dealing with
[29:37]human diseases so the other thing with breathing has been shown through
[29:46]various stories various uh articles and uh other research that it has
[29:53]a role to play in aging and uh there was a gentleman
[29:59]back in the 1900s who was in his 60s and he was
[30:03]a colonel within the british military and had spent time out of
[30:07]india and when he returned to england he spent most of his
[30:11]days being more or less redundant in his time and he aged
[30:14]he became uh immobile he became he became under the influence of
[30:19]various diseases and was getting old and he was looking for this
[30:24]wonderful fuel and he ended up going back to india to look
[30:26]at his fuel when he returned back to four years later he
[30:29]was a bald man when he left he came back with a
[30:32]full head of hair he was upright standing upright and walking along
[30:35]unaided and was looking 20 years younger when he was asked about
[30:41]how that how he had managed this he put it down to
[30:45]posture stretching and breathing he essentially had managed to reverse the aging
[30:54]process and managed to get himself fitter and more agile and able
[30:58]to fight off disease this gentleman here on the stream this guy
[31:05]called carl stout now back in the 1960s again he was an
[31:08]ex-military man he was a doctor and he was sort of known
[31:12]as the godfather of breathing he was in a hospital where he
[31:20]had many end stage uh epicenters uh patients those people suffering from
[31:23]end-stage emphysema these eyes were bed-bound they were on supplemental oxygen and
[31:29]he had made an observation that's when they breathed they didn't breathe
[31:32]properly they had lost the ability to breathe so through various exercises
[31:38]and various uh demonstrations he was actually managed to get them to
[31:44]use their diaphragm and he's the king so the godfather of diaphragmatic
[31:47]breathing uh and managed to increase their lung capacity by twice twice
[31:50]the size of what it was before so much so that these
[31:54]guys were bed bound were now able to walk and walk upstairs
[31:56]they were able to get off their supplemental oxygen and begin living
[32:02]a reasonable life again so what that basically taught us so what
[32:11]it tells us is that through breathing we can retrain ourselves we
[32:14]can re-learn how to breathe properly and have lost art and this
[32:17]person on the left believe it or not he's 50 years old
[32:21]and he's a guy called herbert lynch and as you can i
[32:22]don't know if you can read people the bottom caption says that's
[32:28]40 world records for free diving this is the chase man who
[32:31]holds the record for free diving down to 250 meters and during
[32:36]that world record attempt or success he was able to hold his
[32:39]breath by over nine and a half minutes when he was asked
[32:42]how he was able to achieve that he said it was through
[32:46]training breathing and mindset the ladies next to him are ammo so
[32:53]japanese uh women from so they're called and these ladies have and
[33:00]their ancestors for over three thousand years have been diving searching for
[33:04]pearls oysters in the deep sea and again when you ask them
[33:08]how they manage this is thought through mindset and breathing techniques which
[33:11]can all be learned and it doesn't matter what you what the
[33:15]age the uh japanese divers are now sort of dying breed and
[33:18]there's only a few of them left and they age between 50
[33:20]and 80 years old and still to this day they still died
[33:24]even at the age at those ages down to find those oysters
[33:26]and curls so in history there's been many occasions where people have
[33:38]described breathing techniques or meditation techniques uh or even prayer in which
[33:43]they're able to control and regulate their breathing so well one example
[33:47]of them are the for this monks and the buddhist monks have
[33:51]been able to demonstrate that through prayer meditation and breathing regulation they're
[33:55]able to regulate their temperature they're able to control their immune system
[33:59]such they can fight off infection they're able to treat diseases within
[34:03]themselves and they're able to actually slow the rate in which they
[34:09]age as well physiologically i mentioned temperature regulation is a buddhist monk
[34:13]who's able to actually meditate and breathe in the snow so and
[34:17]they're able to regulate their temperatures such that they can have an
[34:19]almost 16 degree difference compared to us normal people with regards to
[34:25]regulating our temperature i don't know if anybody's been watching the tv
[34:33]recently but there's a program on at the moment called free to
[34:37]fear and this is the main character a guy called wim hof
[34:39]this is a gentleman when during his thirties his wife had passed
[34:44]away and hit him quite hard and he had turned to uh
[34:47]the buddhist monks uh for strategies on dealing with this and coping
[34:52]with this and what he'd learned was their secrets of being able
[34:57]to harness these techniques that they they had in order to be
[35:01]able to combat the freeze and be able to do all sorts
[35:05]of amazing things this is a gentleman that was able to run
[35:06]a half marathon in the arctic circle with nothing but a pair
[35:10]of shorts on no shoes bare feet he was able to run
[35:14]a full marathon in the namibian desert without a drop of water
[35:16]and he was able to do this and control this via various
[35:20]breathing techniques and when you ask him how he's managed to do
[35:22]this he says it's through three things breathing freezing and mindset he's
[35:31]philosophy has gone worldwide and he's fully available on the internet and
[35:36]you can read about it you can see various youtube tips about
[35:40]it as well one of his um followers there's a guy called
[35:45]um chuck mcgee and he's a 33 year old who was dying
[35:50]uh diagnosed with diabetes along with diabetes he was found to be
[35:52]hypertensive high blood pressure he had anxiety depression he had chronic uh
[35:58]pain with regard to his back pain and he suffered with also
[36:04]other autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis he then became a follower of
[36:08]qualities techniques followed his uh methods and he was able to come
[36:15]off with his blood pressure medication he was able to come off
[36:18]of his benzodiazepines that he was on and he's able to reduce
[36:21]his insulin by over 80 percent oh and this is a picture
[36:29]of chuck mcgee here so like i said throughout history there have
[36:34]been demonstrations there's been literature about how people have been able to
[36:39]use breathing and harness their bodies in order to fight disease and
[36:45]during the 80s they took wim hof and various other buddhist monks
[36:49]and carried out various experiments on them such as they looked at
[36:56]how they managed to regulate their body temperatures they put them in
[36:59]extreme cold extreme heat and they were able to control that just
[37:01]like through their breathing techniques itself they were able to so one
[37:06]experiment they did which i found quite amazing was they injected these
[37:08]volunteers and went off with e coli and in us normal people
[37:14]that would have caused a fever diarrhea vomiting you know we'd be
[37:18]very very unwell but in these people they were able to regulate
[37:21]their immune system regulate their energy and were able to fight off
[37:25]this infection within a million minutes it basically didn't even affect them
[37:30]you know and when the researchers looked at this they found it
[37:34]wasn't just due to breathing techniques it was about an internal energy
[37:38]that these guys possess that they will make able to harness and
[37:43]use to extend that they were able to control it whereas normal
[37:46]people have not developed that technique so one of those um one
[37:51]of the descriptions of this energy that we have between us between
[37:55]the molecules that we can harness is from india called prana planet
[37:58]stands life force and pranayama means life sports expands so through breathing
[38:04]and people who follow kanyama are able to through uh various breathing
[38:12]techniques through acupuncture postures and even spicy food are able to control
[38:17]this energy such that they can calm their mind relieve stress and
[38:21]heal their bodies in china they call the same energy that flows
[38:28]through everybody chi and over there is our tai chi instructor who
[38:32]comes and teaches us every thursday who's able to harness this chi
[38:38]through a method called qigong and qigong stands for breath working and
[38:42]they're able to through this breathing aim to harness this energy and
[38:45]focus it and be able to get the benefits of this energy
[38:49]uh through healing uh through mindset and able to heal themselves within
[38:56]as well as control their anxieties and depression and various medical illnesses
[39:00]that they have but one word warning is that the breathing techniques
[39:10]aren't as straightforward to do as in you can just go to
[39:12]the internet and read about it and do it by all means
[39:15]you could do it but my advice would be if you are
[39:18]going to go down the street and look at these breeding techniques
[39:20]you do need an instructor you do need to be in a
[39:24]safe environment because these can have quite extremely extreme uh events that
[39:29]can uh that can cause you to faint lose consciousness to hallucinate
[39:33]if not done correctly so my advice is if you are gonna
[39:36]uh learn some reading techniques stick to these simple straightforward ones and
[39:41]stuff like the united structure you need to be guided how to
[39:47]do this but as a doctor this energy this healing process that
[39:53]comes with the wheel and i see it all the time as
[39:56]a doctor we help people we cut things out we give them
[40:01]medication but the true healer is from within i see people heal
[40:04]by themselves the energy that comes through through them we just support
[40:08]them in allowing the body to actually heal itself and that's why
[40:14]i'm just going to end with this hadith by any mummy that
[40:19]i think encompasses quite a lot of what i've talked about it's
[40:23]about mindsets about well-being and the first step in mindset and well-being
[40:27]is i believe through breathing thank you [Music] announcement on behalf of
[41:07]the airline social care foundation can we begin with solarwinds for this
[41:16]orphan child and others like him to be treated alain established a
[41:22]dedicated medical center in 2010 [Music] it started off as a simple
[41:30]health center which included a few clinics and received tens of orphaned
[41:34]children on a daily basis children are examined carefully given follow-up appointments
[41:40]and provided with the necessary treatment needed [Music] since the opening of
[41:48]the luminous star center which was built with the help of generous
[41:51]donations a large part of the centre was dedicated to healthcare the
[41:57]centre became like a mini hospital providing numerous services through different clinics
[42:04]the clinics provide the following services [Music] dental care general medical care
[42:10]optometry ear nose and throat care [Music] there are other specialized clinics
[42:21]at a laboratory running throughout the week in addition there is a
[42:25]pharmacy that offers the best medicine sourced internationally needless to say all
[42:31]of this is offered to orphan children and those in need free
[42:34]of charge [Music] all these departments are equipped with the latest technology
[42:41]and run by qualified specialists who volunteer their time and expertise to
[42:46]provide care and attention to orphaned children and their families the medical
[42:53]center also caters for regular patients whose examination fees are used for
[42:59]the benefit of orphaned children supported by al-aim the centre has entered
[43:04]into a number of cooperation agreements with private and public hospitals it
[43:08]has also cooperated with hospitals and doctors outside of iraq to treat
[43:13]orphan children in situations where the centre has been unequipped to do
[43:17]so in the distribution hall where families receive their monthly financial aid
[43:22]there is a dedicated section to reviewing medical care needs after diagnosing
[43:27]the case it is referred to the medical center's relevant clinic where
[43:32]treatment procedures begin if the medical center is unable to treat the
[43:36]case it will be referred to cooperating hospitals inside iraq if the
[43:40]case cannot be treated in the country it is treated outside iraq
[43:45]alain coordinates travel procedures and takes care of the orphaned child's travel
[43:51]expenses including food and drink housing and treatment until they return to
[43:56]the homeland alain keeps in contact with the child and follows up
[44:01]on the child's health until full recovery thanks to the almighty with
[44:05]the blessing of god alain has treated hundreds of medical cases in
[44:11]record time your support will help draw a smile on the faces
[44:16]of orphaned children hello inshallah [Music] [Music] come on [Music] joining us
[45:38]once again this evening you can please request all the welcome chairs
[45:42]with the loudest of those islands we're early mohammed [Applause] [Music] [Music]
[46:02]uh [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign oh did the prophet split the
[47:51]moon in two this is the question that we'll examine this evening
[47:55]and we'll approach this whole topic in three stages first of all
[48:00]we'll look at what the quran and tradition say about this whole
[48:08]incident then we'll go on to mention some of the arguments put
[48:11]forward by those who say the prophet did not split the moon
[48:20]in two and it was not any such miracle then we'll look
[48:22]at the responses to these arguments after that we will end by
[48:29]just looking at what spiritual lessons we can gain from this whole
[48:44]stage what does the quran and the traditions say about this event
[48:51]well it is widely reported in both sunni and shiite sources from
[48:56]the traditional perspective but from the quranic perspective we have the verses
[49:06]mentioned in which is chapter number 54 of the quran and the
[49:11]very first one is the one that i recited a few moments
[49:15]ago where allah what does this mean first of all the first
[49:31]part the hour has drawn near the hour here refers to the
[49:37]day of resurrection why has the hour drawn near well it is
[49:43]because when the holy prophet was sent to mankind this is actually
[49:57]a sign in the traditions as to the nearness of the day
[49:59]of resurrection so for example we have a very famous tradition where
[50:05]he says holding up his fingers like that he says that i
[50:14]have been sent and in relation to the hour again the day
[50:19]of resurrection it is like these two meaning that my coming to
[50:26]you to mankind being sent to guide mankind and the day of
[50:30]resurrection are very very close it's like these two fingers together so
[50:36]the coming of the holy prophet in relation to what has transpired
[50:44]in the whole lifespan of the earth is regarded relatively speaking as
[50:48]being near to the day of resurrection so all the previous history
[50:52]of the earth then you have this point where the prophet comes
[50:56]to mankind in relation to this point to the day of resurrection
[51:02]it is relatively near right relatively speaking so this is the first
[51:06]part as to what is meant by this first what about the
[51:11]second part one that the moon is split into what does this
[51:18]mean and how can we explain it well like i said there
[51:24]are so many traditions about this event narrated by both sunni and
[51:30]shiite sources but essentially when we put them all together they are
[51:34]reported in various different ways but we put them all together we
[51:37]gleaned the following sort of like a story and incident that took
[51:42]place with regards to the splitting of the moon the policies of
[51:46]mecca so it first of all happened in mecca before hijra just
[51:51]to give some context to the incident the politics of mecca demanded
[51:56]from the prophet that he produ he split the moon in order
[52:01]to prove that he is the rightful prophet so rasulullah he prays
[52:10]to allah to make this happen splits the moon in two then
[52:17]the prophet calls to the people that also and so also and
[52:23]so bear witness then allah puts the moon back together now in
[52:31]one report we are told that one of the disbelievers actually said
[52:37]that well he has bewitched us but he won't be able to
[52:39]bewitch the people of the whole world so let's do one thing
[52:46]let's wait until some travelers come from a far away land to
[52:49]mecca when they arrive here we'll ask them that did you see
[52:55]this event take place and then we'll be able to ascertain will
[53:01]we only be reached here in this locality or did it actually
[53:04]take place in other places as well did other people see it
[53:06]this is how we'll be able to ascertain the truth this is
[53:11]what they do a little later some travelers begin to come every
[53:14]time a traveler enters mecca they ask that traveller that did you
[53:19]see the moon being split like this and then being put back
[53:22]together and they confirmed that they did so in fact this is
[53:28]really the mainstream opinion both sunni and shiite scholars agree on this
[53:33]generally speaking the vast majority of commentators and scholars of the quran
[53:39]say that this verse actually points to the moon splitting into and
[53:43]it was a miracle that happened now let's have a look at
[53:49]some of the arguments in stage two of this whole discussion put
[53:53]forward by those who reject this having taken place what arguments do
[53:58]they present well first of all we have to bear in mind
[54:03]that these rejecters of this account are very few and far between
[54:10]very very few of them actually say it was a miracle did
[54:12]not take place but let's have a look at the arguments and
[54:16]then we'll see the counter arguments as well one of the few
[54:23]commentators who says it wasn't a miracle is that person who we
[54:27]introduced yesterday muhammad assad you recall yesterday that he was this jewish
[54:33]convert who embraced islam and he translated the whole of the quran
[54:41]it was published in 1980 okay so he's austrian by origin changes
[54:48]his name and becomes a muslim now in this translation of the
[54:55]quran i mentioned yesterday that he has thousands and thousands of footnotes
[54:58]when we look at his translation and then his footnotes he tells
[55:04]us the following he says that and you recall that he had
[55:08]this very particular approach to interpreting in particular those supernatural things that
[55:14]are mentioned in the quran he took a very rationalist approach to
[55:18]explaining those supernatural phenomena that are mentioned in the quran and therefore
[55:24]he had a very uncomfortable position with regard to miracles we saw
[55:30]that yesterday with the miracles of isa where he tries to explain
[55:38]them in a metaphorical way and using language that really explains it
[55:43]either in an allegorical way metaphorical way or scientific way always when
[55:47]it comes to miracles this is his approach because of his rationalistic
[55:51]tendency so when it comes to this incident he says that it's
[55:55]possible that what had actually happened what the people had actually seen
[56:03]was a partial lunar eclipse right that it is possible they saw
[56:10]a partial lunar eclipse and this in turn produced in their minds
[56:15]an optical illusion right this is his explanation of this incident of
[56:21]the splitting of the moon partial lunar eclipse causes them to have
[56:27]an optical illusion what are his proofs and evidence for this opinion
[56:34]he mentions and he says that well look at the verse the
[56:42]word is actually past tense in arabic is past tense so it
[56:47]literally means this the the moon was split he says that in
[56:53]the quran we have many instances where allah uses the past tense
[56:59]verb to refer to something in the future why does allah do
[57:04]this this is a particular style of the quran and is there
[57:06]in the arabic language that when an event is is definitely going
[57:13]to happen it's certain to happen the past tense is used this
[57:19]is a little bit strange for us when we look at things
[57:22]in english but this is the arabic language and certainly the quran
[57:25]has this so for example in verse number 50 we are told
[57:34]that as that the people of the hellfire they actually call out
[57:46]to the people of paradise they call out now all i should
[57:53]translate it as they will call out notice future tense right when
[57:57]we look at it in english they will call out because that's
[58:01]obviously going to happen in the future isn't it but in arabic
[58:03]nada is used it's past tense it means literally called out to
[58:12]them but it just it's an example to show that when something
[58:14]definitely is going to happen certainly will happen allah uses the past
[58:20]hands okay so this muhammad assad uses this as his proof that
[58:24]the past tense is used in this verse is a past tense
[58:32]verb and it refers to the future so what future he says
[58:36]it refers to what will happen as a sign for the coming
[58:42]of the day of resurrection we know that when the day of
[58:46]resurrection will come in the whole created order as we know it
[58:51]will be destroyed everything will come to an end and a new
[58:55]order will be created so he's saying that this will happen in
[59:01]the future just like everything else will be destroyed so too will
[59:05]the moon be destroyed it will split asunder and therefore when allah
[59:13]says he's talking about a future event a sign that the akhirah
[59:17]is about to come into existence so this is his proof and
[59:23]he takes this and he says that there are authorities that support
[59:28]this etc now when we look at this this is the first
[59:32]argument put forward by those who reject that it was a miracle
[59:38]a second argument is that look if this truly happened then why
[59:45]didn't many many people see it why didn't many many people report
[59:51]it that's the second argument so the first argument is based on
[59:55]the actual wording of the verse past tense means future and it's
[59:58]something that refers to the coming of the day of resurrection second
[60:01]argument is that why didn't many people see it and report it
[60:04]third argument is that why didn't it cause cataclysmic natural disasters on
[60:14]the earth the earth obviously has a very close relationship with the
[60:20]moon [Music] and if the moon is split into two definitely that
[60:25]should have a massive cataclysmic catastrophic impact on the earth how come
[60:32]nothing like that has been reported good arguments or not let's have
[60:38]a look are there responses to these arguments was it really a
[60:44]miracle or is it referring to something that was an optical illusion
[60:47]or was referring to the day of resurrection let's examine the responses
[60:53]beginning with the response to the first objection that look at the
[61:05]wording of the quran is that yes look at the wording of
[61:11]the quran the apparent meaning of the verse is that the moon
[61:15]was split we cannot just bypass the apparent meaning and say that
[61:20]yes past tense refers to a definite thing that will happen in
[61:23]the future etc well past tense primarily means past tense you only
[61:30]make it sound like it refers to something in the future if
[61:35]there are very specific reasons for example if you were to say
[61:40]that it relates to the past tense it wouldn't make much sense
[61:43]it wouldn't really fit the context there wouldn't be a good reason
[61:49]to translate it as past tense then you say that when here
[61:51]past tense means future tense otherwise you don't go down that route
[61:54]in the first place you don't say past tense means future tense
[62:00]if a plausible explanation can be given for it to be translated
[62:03]as past tense and there is a plausible explanation here because of
[62:08]the traditions that we have and the apparent meaning of the verse
[62:15]that means the moon was split into so this is the first
[62:21]thing secondly one of the best proofs is the actual passage of
[62:27]the quran itself whenever you come across verses look what comes before
[62:31]look what comes after it the siak as it's known the literal
[62:36]context of the verse well when we look at that we have
[62:40]perhaps the best proof that it was a miracle and that is
[62:45]because the very next verse explains certain things to us what does
[62:49]the next verse say verse number two of circle says [Music] what
[63:02]that means is that when they see a sign aya sign but
[63:08]ayah in the quran when we talk about miracles the word is
[63:13]not used right miracles in the quran is referred to as ayah
[63:19]so it means when they see an ayah when they see a
[63:24]miracle they turn away and they say it's an incessant it's a
[63:31]continual magic it's a continual magic this is their claim they see
[63:33]it but they say it's all magic and the prophet you know
[63:38]they're saying that he does this continuously magic after magic after magic
[63:42]so here is a very good counter argument that why would they
[63:48]say this is a magic surely they have seen something extraordinary isn't
[63:55]it if you think you are being bewitched or a magic trick
[63:58]has been played on you is because you have seen something something
[64:02]has happened which is extraordinary it's not normal so the argument is
[64:07]why would the policies accuse the prophet of doing magic if it
[64:14]didn't take place if it was referring to something in the future
[64:17]a sign of the day of resurrection it means they saw something
[64:21]extraordinary i.e the moon splitting that's why they accused the prophet of
[64:27]doing another magic so that's one argument then we said that those
[64:37]who reject this miracle say that why wasn't it widely reported and
[64:43]widely seen well what's the answer to this the answer to this
[64:48]is that it was widely seen and reported you will recall in
[64:54]that incident that i really i i recounted earlier that not only
[64:59]had the policies at the time seen it but they said that
[65:02]let's wait for travelers to come isn't it from fire of lands
[65:07]and if we'll ask them did you see that as well or
[65:10]is it just us were being bewitched if they said yes we
[65:13]saw it then we will know that it actually did happen so
[65:17]we have the policies at the time that crowd that was there
[65:21]they certainly sorry then we have the travelers coming in when they
[65:25]were asked did you see the moon being split when you were
[65:28]away far away from mecca they said yes we saw it being
[65:34]split also when we when they say that why isn't it widely
[65:37]reported you know what this incident is regarded as being tawatur kawakur
[65:42]is the highest level of a tradition it means wide scale transmission
[65:50]motorwater traditions are those that have been reported by so many reporters
[65:57]in all these stages of its transmission generation after generation that we
[66:04]attain certainty as to its authenticity we have no doubt about him
[66:09]this incident is regarded as being tawatur wise transmitted in a wide
[66:19]scale to the extent that we have certainty the highest level of
[66:23]status given to any report so who says it's not widely reported
[66:29]who says it wasn't seen by many people on top of that
[66:32]we can say that all right let's say you don't accept all
[66:36]of that and you want even more people to have seen it
[66:39]right you want even more people to have reported what possible reasons
[66:45]could there be if we take your argument and we go down
[66:48]this route what possible other reasons could there have been that it
[66:52]wasn't seen more widely and reported more prominently look at the reasons
[67:02]that can be given for this first of all when it's night
[67:04]in one place it's daytime in the other right half the world
[67:09]is in darkness the other half is in daytime so immediately half
[67:12]the world could have seen it anyway right that's half the world
[67:15]sorted just like that secondly let's have a look at the half
[67:18]that there was night time they could have been well we know
[67:25]that it was late so people would have been at home or
[67:28]asleep so they might not seen it it could have been cloudy
[67:33]at that time it could have been such that the miracle did
[67:39]not make any sound at all it did not diminish the level
[67:44]of light that was there so something's happening in the sky it's
[67:47]not making any sound let's say and if the light levels are
[67:52]not diminishing let's say then you wouldn't notice it you would only
[67:57]notice it if you happen to be looking at the sky at
[68:02]that time so is it any wonder that not everyone saw it
[68:06]also let's say that this event was not reported so much because
[68:17]in those days these type of events were not reported like they
[68:21]are today you know they say that even if you get you
[68:26]know a moderately famous person sneezing the whole world knows right the
[68:30]way social media is these days everything is reported the person is
[68:34]not even that famous moderately famous person sneezes everybody knows about it
[68:37]in those days it wasn't like that not everything was reported and
[68:42]another argument is that how long did this event take place for
[68:47]did it last and lasted last that someone's bound to have looked
[68:52]up at the sky and then seen it no it was a
[68:53]relatively short incident it happened and that was it allah put the
[68:59]wound back together so can you see why even if we don't
[69:03]accept the tomato argument and the travelers and the policies and widely
[69:09]reported and all of that it's not such a big thing to
[69:15]say that when it was not that type of event the circumstances
[69:20]was not that type of thing that millions and millions of people
[69:22]could have seen it so now the third argument was that if
[69:30]it happened then why don't we know of those cataclysmic natural disasters
[69:38]that will go bound to happen on the earth isn't it when
[69:42]the moon splits then surely because of the close relationship between the
[69:46]moon and the earth we would have had many many natural disasters
[69:50]right well the answer is very very simple who made the miracle
[69:57]happen in the first place he made it happen simply by willing
[70:06]it the prophet prayed to him allah made it happen and very
[70:08]easily he made the two hearts come together again allah can destroy
[70:15]every single thing just by willing it doesn't we're not even talking
[70:22]fractions of seconds here we're just talking about simply willing in kun
[70:25]for your everything is destroyed for your code everything is created if
[70:32]allah can split the moon so easily and do all these amazing
[70:36]things so easily just by simply willing it then can he not
[70:44]also miraculously prevent any cataclysmic natural disaster from happening of course he
[70:48]can it's not even you know a thing for him to that
[70:55]it would be difficult and for us to debate why wasn't there
[70:57]a tidal wave here and this volcano then this landslide here and
[71:03]etc etc in the same way that he proved for his prophet
[71:07]his prophethood to those who were demanding some proof he can also
[71:13]put it back together without disturbing the natural order without harming anyone
[71:16]without killing anyone and this is a very good response to that
[71:24]third objection so then finally let's have a look at what points
[71:34]of spiritual development we can get from this incident because it's fine
[71:41]looking at the quran understanding it and learning a bit more about
[71:48]allah's words even it reflects on our theology because obviously miracles are
[71:51]a big part of our theology and we get to learn about
[71:56]what others are saying about our holy book but it's also very
[71:58]good especially in this holy month to see what spiritual lessons can
[72:03]we derive for our personal and spiritual development well for this we
[72:09]can look at the very next verse now we're on verse number
[72:13]three of suratul allah tells us why those prophesies not accept and
[72:20]said that it's all just magic why they rejected this amazing sign
[72:33]allah tells us that they rejected it they denied it why because
[72:42]they followed their they followed their desires their palestine preferences what they
[72:50]wanted to believe that's what they followed they followed their carnal whims
[72:57]and desires so what is the lesson for us my dear brothers
[72:59]and sisters the lesson for us is that the signs of allah
[73:05]are clear they are always there allah constantly is proving his existence
[73:13]and all of his teachings to us that we need for our
[73:16]guidance for the architect to get close to him they are clear
[73:21]but they become foggy they become unclear they become clouded when we
[73:31]follow our personal desires when we want to believe what our nuts
[73:38]our low-level nurse is telling us to believe when we start following
[73:42]our whims this is exactly why those politics did not believe as
[73:46]his first elsas they denied it and they followed which is plural
[73:55]of they follow their personal desires everything is recorded good and bad
[74:02]so my dear brothers and sisters sometimes we come across certain things
[74:08]in the quran in traditions that are a little bit difficult to
[74:14]fathom right like the splitting of the moon etc parting of the
[74:19]seas extraordinary acts that prophets have done all the r have done
[74:23]but should we just reject them take a purely rationalist perspective say
[74:29]this does not make sense and let's look for metaphorical explanations letters
[74:35]for scientific explanations let's look for rational explanations purely based on intellect
[74:40]our internet is limited it cannot explain certain supernatural things our knowledge
[74:48]is limited our sources and abilities are limited it does not mean
[74:53]they are fake it does not mean we reject them we have
[74:58]to remain open we have to remain objective impartial and not say
[75:03]all of this is some type of you know some type of
[75:08]extravagance or exaggeration or volume or this type of really really harmful
[75:17]projections onto our religion and how we must understand it even though
[75:23]some things are a little bit difficult to fathom we should not
[75:28]reject them because of our personal inclinations and desires and whims this
[75:31]is the lesson that we get from this whole incident to help
[75:36]us in our spiritual development so as a summary and a conclusion
[75:40]this incident when we look at what the quran and traditions tell
[75:47]us it is quite clear that they tell us it was a
[75:50]miracle that the holy prophet did in order to prove his prophethood
[75:57]there have been objections there have been arguments against it but as
[76:04]we saw each one of these objections does have its counter argument
[76:07]and has a very plausible response and [Music] also we saw and
[76:14]we conclude that from this incident we learn that even though certain
[76:19]events certain things certain reports might be difficult for us to fathom
[76:25]and understand like miracles it does not mean that they are necessarily
[76:30]false or fake and they can happen we are limited in our
[76:36]internet in our sources in our abilities and there are certain supernatural
[76:41]things that we can only gain by examining the true teachings of
[76:48]the quran and instead of following our carnal desires and dreams let's
[76:54]pray to allah that he hastens and protects our holy imam o
[77:00]enable us to correctly understand your words o allah accept all of
[77:08]our acts of servitude in this holy month or allah forgive us
[77:13]and our forefathers for our sins o allah bring relief to all
[77:16]those facing difficulties around the world and all allah enable us to
[77:20]live and die according to the teachings of the to ask for
[77:32]quran if you go on youtube and you put national international american
[77:38]space against nasa there is a scientist called karna and karna is
[77:48]the chief scientist who studied the lunar history and the lunar geology
[77:54]and he found there is a kit in the morning and the
[78:01]video i had it actually in my pocket karna said there is
[78:09]no explanation whatsoever to have this land in the moons in this
[78:13]one with different geology and different analysis of the stones composed in
[78:22]this slit apart from historical events could have happened to the moon
[78:30]that it is split and distinct has become muslim all right right
