[27:51]Sol of Surah fat for kindly join me in reciting Surah fa
[28:20]for all Al we' request all Brothers to move as far forward
[28:33]as possible and kindly leave the side rooms for parents with young
[28:37]children uh also one of our children has misplaced his pair of
[28:42]glasses if anyone comes across them on the Gen side please uh
[28:45]bring them up to the AV room before the majus this evening
[28:50]we will have a short Health talk by the health committee there
[28:53]will be two Health talks and this will be held separately in
[28:55]the ladies and the gents after which we will res Zoom with
[29:00]the communal program once again these will be delivered by Dr jabir
[29:03]malali on the J side and sister fana Huda on the lady
[29:05]side please can we welcome them with a loud salawat Muhammad Ali
[29:27]Muhammad show my dear brother Salam alaykum my name is jab morali
[30:13]I'm a I'm a GP in the Southampton area and also work
[30:15]as a A specialized doctor in the treatment of elderly and frail
[30:20]people in their own homes now tonight's talk is entitled move it
[30:24]or lose it so in we're going to try and cover just
[30:29]three things today firstly why we can't afford to stop moving and
[30:35]then we're actually going to do a a really quick 5 minute
[30:37]exercise routine and then inshallah if there's a bit of time a
[30:40]really short Ramadan reflection at the end so before we got we
[30:48]get to the exercise part a quick note on why it's so
[30:50]important so I I introduced myself before as someone who has an
[30:55]interest in treating those with Frailty so what is frailty as well
[30:58]as being an adjective in the English language to describe weakness or
[31:02]INF firmness is actually in medicine a defined medical condition that describes
[31:07]a state in which multiple body systems lose their Reserve or lose
[31:11]their strength and it carries one of the largest increased risks in
[31:15]hospitalization of any condition and is one of the closest predictors of
[31:20]our own death and and this is the important bit it is
[31:23]solely defined by our ability to move not by any other medical
[31:28]conditions or what tablets you take or what blood tests you may
[31:31]have just by how you you move and how you your movement
[31:35]has changed with time so so this is actually called the rockid
[31:38]felty score so this is how we score felty syndromes and you
[31:42]can see from the pictures that the difference between being a a
[31:45]one or a six or seven is really defined by our movement
[31:50]that's it and please also bear in mind that this is talking
[31:52]about change in movement not those who may be disabled for other
[31:55]reasons just those who have had over time lost their strength and
[32:02]their balance and so as a doctor fundamentally I more interested in
[32:06]how you move than anything else or how your movement has changed
[32:08]and there is no tablet to treat frailty the only thing is
[32:14]regular strength and B balance exercises along with health healthy eating is
[32:18]the only intervention to delay the onset of Frailty or its advancement
[32:24]so Studies have stressed the importance of establishing a a a regular
[32:28]time dedicated to our own physical health and we're told we should
[32:32]try to aim to achieve at least at least 20 to 25
[32:34]minutes 4 days a week focusing on strengthening of our Limbs and
[32:41]improving our balance and coordination now now I am supremely underqualified to
[32:47]lead an exercise routine inshallah in the future health talks we can
[32:52]have some physiotherapists or some chiropractors or maybe some of the gymgo
[32:55]enthusiasts to take over and as such I've turn to a simple
[33:00]exercise video for all of us to try this is actually my
[33:02]favorite way to exercise in my own home the video is designed
[33:08]for people who are able to stand unaided for those who need
[33:10]a little more help please do whatever movements you can and any
[33:12]increased Movement we can achieve is going to go a long way
[33:16]okay so inshallah 5 minutes we're all going to get on our
[33:17]feet if it works and we're going to do a 5 minute
[33:23]exercise video inshallah I have a personal trainer who specializes in online
[33:30]workout content for people all over the world and I'm now delivering
[33:33]my first session for senior and elderly people that are stuck at
[33:37]home that need some content I really want to get you up
[33:41]get you moving get you feeling good feeling positive move your joints
[33:43]raise your heart rate a little bit take it at your own
[33:47]pace nice and simple no equipment you can do it in your
[33:48]socks in your living room on your carpet we're going to do
[33:52]40 seconds on each exercise followed by 20 second rest and there's
[33:55]five moves in total so keep it simple um and just a
[33:58]it if you have to first exercise nice and simple we're going
[34:01]to be doing 40 seconds of high knees just marching on the
[34:05]spot so the higher you lift your knees the more challenging it
[34:08]will be the lower the easier okay so here we go 3
[34:12]two 1 so just lifting those knees 40 seconds so arms out
[34:15]straight As You March and as I said the higher you lift
[34:19]your knees the more hip range of motion you're going to need
[34:20]if you can't get them right up just go shallow just lift
[34:25]them slightly off the ground so 40 seconds keep keep your back
[34:28]nice and straight just marching on the spot and if you want
[34:33]to go a bit harder obviously you can go a bit faster
[34:35]we've got 15 seconds on the clock so nice high knees marching
[34:40]good work and then we're going to do a 20 second rest
[34:47]last few seconds lifting those knees good in three two one and
[34:51]Rel left Perfect Right exercise number two we're going to do some
[34:55]toe touches so this is about rotating the spine so you may
[34:58]not be able to come right down and touch the toes you
[35:02]may just be up here starting out the arm straight and just
[35:04]with a slight rotation left to right depending on the mobility of
[35:07]your spine if you can we're going to go to the toes
[35:12]off we go so 40 seconds so nice and slow left to
[35:17]right left to right and as I said if you can't get
[35:19]down you can just do a slight twist yeah perfect so keep
[35:27]it up left to right keeping that spine healthy keeping it rotating
[35:35]and moving just nice and slow take your time good keep breathing
[35:42]nice deep breath you got 10 seconds left left to right three
[35:49]two one and relax perfect so 20 second rest next we're going
[35:55]to do is a lateral shoulder R so just standing nice and
[35:58]straight we're going to lift our arm to the side so focus
[36:02]on your shoulders here from the side we then go to the
[36:05]front back and down so lateral frontal back to the side and
[36:11]down off we go you're going to feel this in your shoulders
[36:13]and just if you can sort of tense that muscle there squeeze
[36:20]and bring together out and down it's good for your scapular your
[36:23]shoulder Mobility so just parallel the ground forwards back back and down
[36:29]perfect we've got 20 seconds left on this exercise so lift forwards
[36:36]and down so just from the side nice straight arms frontal lateral
[36:42]back down and repeat and if you wanted to make this hard
[36:46]you could obviously hold a little dumbbell a little weight can of
[36:51]beans you could have a can of beans if you wanted to
[36:55]right so next exercise is a shallow squat now if you've got
[36:57]strong legs and good range of motion in your hips you can
[37:01]obviously get much lower in your squat you know you can come
[37:03]right down but if you got if you haven't got the range
[37:08]of motion the strength just do little shallow reps okay so feet
[37:11]hands together and then up so it's just a tiny little Bend
[37:17]in the knees open up the hips working the quads so we
[37:20]come down and up down and up so you don't have to
[37:25]get low the stronger you are the more mobile you are the
[37:28]lower you can get into that squat but even if it's a
[37:32]tiny little 2in pulse you're firing up these legs getting those muscles
[37:37]working good take your time we've got another 10 seconds on this
[37:41]exercise so really think about those quads think out the muscles in
[37:44]your legs keep them strong keep going three two one and relax
[37:53]Perfect Right exercise number five the final one we can all do
[37:56]this one we're going to get into a boxing position into a
[38:00]boxing St so one leg back in a diagonal position and we're
[38:02]just going to throw nice straight punches so you may find that
[38:04]you want to do it that way you might want to have
[38:06]your left leg back whatever feels natural to you 40 seconds let's
[38:09]get our heart rate up now let's go so 40 seconds on
[38:14]this one nice straight punches facing forward so if you see I'm
[38:18]not punching down not punching up just eye level as if I'm
[38:24]punching someone with pads right in front of me come on this
[38:26]is going to get your heart rate up brilliant we've got 20
[38:32]seconds on the clock keep it going nice fast uh fist nice
[38:36]and straight keep the F fists clenched youve got 10 seconds let's
[38:42]go a bit quicker come on get that heart rate up all
[38:45]the way 5 Seconds come on 4 3 2 1 and those
[39:03]who participated you you can see actually it doesn't it doesn't take
[39:07]much effort to put on a video in your own home to
[39:11]spend to spend 5 10 15 20 minutes whatever you can manage
[39:13]to just get your get your muscles moving a little bit and
[39:17]you'll really be surprised that just a a little bit will will
[39:19]go a really long way um and as you as I've said
[39:23]before with with Frailty once you once you really stop moving you
[39:26]really will start to lose it so if we have time just
[39:29]a very quick Ramadan reflection in in reference to those who will
[39:34]be saved from the difficulties of the day of judgment Allah says
[39:38]inah in verse 23 those those who are constantly performing their prayers
[39:49]the these are the people who will be um who be protected
[39:53]from the day of um from the difficulties of the day of
[39:57]judgment in in other parts of the Quran he talks about those
[39:59]who pray as being those who are the most successful or the
[40:05]True Believers and and we will all naturally think of the spiritual
[40:09]successes that that Salah brings us but and and sometimes we even
[40:12]think of that at the expense of our physical health that actually
[40:15]we become tired when we pray but Allah in his all-encompassing knowledge
[40:19]is also thinking of our physical success in this life this slide
[40:30]is sort of half cut off um I'll see if I if
[40:34]you can perhaps see it on my on my computer so if
[40:42]if if you can see on my computer on on one half
[40:46]of the slide that is actually up there are the positions of
[40:49]Salah that we go through from from from s to and then
[40:56]standing back up into before the next on the on the other
[40:58]hand of the slide was actually a a picture of some exercises
[41:02]I just pulled up that were NHS recommended exercises for strengthening and
[41:06]balance and the similarities are remarkably similar especially from our sitting you
[41:10]know going back up into a rising position um at the end
[41:15]of uh before the next Raa there's really a massive similarity um
[41:19]and and this is truly something really amazing to reflect on and
[41:23]encourage us maybe to perform this highly recommended act even more abundantly
[41:27]um so inshallah let us pray to Allah to increase our in
[41:31]these special nights and pray that he gives us the strength to
[41:33]keep moving in whatever capacity we can and just finally just a
[41:38]last note that the um the health committee have of course been
[41:40]been fundraising for a defibrillator for the jamat and we are we
[41:44]I'm told Incredibly Close to reaching our Target so please uh dig
[41:49]deep in whatever you can and inshallah we can um we can
[41:51]we can gain this really important piece of equipment for our community
[41:56]Shan for e e thank you Dr jabir marali and sister farzan
[43:36]Huda for those presentations M our Shah Ramadan fund needs your support
[43:43]your donations play an instrumental role in covering the various costs essential
[43:48]for our community's programs which enrich our Shah Ramadan experience here at
[43:54]Wessex a breakdown of what goes on in what goes into our
[43:58]budget can be seen on the screens costs such as nias guest
[44:02]speakers spiritual evenings running costs social and games nights all fall within
[44:09]our budget of £26,000 unfortunately we find ourselves falling short of our
[44:16]fundraising Target we are currently at 37% at this point in the
[44:21]holy month should we not reach our Target we will sadly have
[44:24]no choice but to reduce the number of iars we have together
[44:27]over the past two weeks we have United as a community sharing
[44:33]meals and participating in numerous enriching programs such as ladies socials ibadat
[44:38]nights gen socials with many more to come however we still have
[44:44]ground to cover to reach our goal as we near the holy
[44:49]nights and continue forward we humbly request your continued support to help
[44:54]us bridge this Gap your contributions play a pivotal role in ensuring
[44:59]the success and continuation of these vital programs together let's ensure that
[45:07]our community remains vibrant and thriving ways in which you can donate
[45:12]are displayed on the screen once again we thank you for your

[48:36]hosting shik shabar Mahi for the majales shik shabar Mahi was born
[48:40]in London he completed his education at the University of London obtaining
[48:45]a degree in Islamic Studies while simul simultaneously studying hza studies both
[48:50]in London and in the holy city of Kum he has taught
[48:56]Arabic grammar logic Juris prudence and F Sheik shabar is a trustee
[49:00]for a number of religious and charitable organizations in the UK and
[49:03]Europe and he's also the author of sh Juris Prudence development and
[49:09]growth kindly join me in welcoming him to the member with three
[49:12]loud salawat Al Muhammad Ali [Music] Muhammad [Music] [Music] ald [Music] [Music]
[50:17][Music] muhamed [Music] [Music] [Music] Al [Music] [Music] h [Music] [Music] in
[52:04][Music] Allah subhah wa tala in the Holy Quran speaks about three
[52:22]different people or three different challenges that M faced for M Alim
[52:28]Allah subhah wa ta'ala speaks about arguably the greatest challenge that he
[52:35]faced which was the challenge of M with but also Allah subhah
[52:40]wa taala speaks about two other difficulties and things that M Alim
[52:44]had to face in his life to other FNA one of them
[52:50]being the FNA of Sam that person that used to be a
[52:55]believer and was from the people of Musa and was from the
[52:58]Israelites who later than caused the people of MSA to worship idols
[53:02]and the third being what Quran Kim refers to as the one
[53:10]who was a transgressor and tonight in our discussion I wish to
[53:15]look at the story of karun and see what Allah subhah wa
[53:17]ta'ala mentions in the Holy Quran about this personality for we're told
[53:23]as Quran Kim mentions is an actual Factor relative of M with
[53:30]most people believing that was the cousin of mus and when you
[53:36]look in his life even though we may not have complete details
[53:39]from the time that he was born until the time that he
[53:44]was dead about his biography and the details of his life but
[53:48]we know certain key things that I wish to analyze for the
[53:52]first thing that we're told about this individual is that when he
[53:59]accomp iies mam through the River Nile and he is of those
[54:02]that sees the miracle of Allah subah waala when Allah splits the
[54:11]Nile not only that he settles with M Alim afterwards as they
[54:14]settle first in the deserts of Egypt and later they enter into
[54:19]the promised land and we're told that karun realized that it was
[54:26]very important and vital for him after now being safe from and
[54:30]the that he committed that it was important for him to gain
[54:37]knowledge of scripture and so we're told that karun not only is
[54:41]a believer in one God only is he part and parcel of
[54:45]the community of Moses but likewise he trains himself until he becomes
[54:52]anim that of the people of M of the ones that were
[54:59]followers of one God and the god of Musa arguably one of
[55:02]the best people that knew the Torah from Back to Front was
[55:07]this person by the name of karun and so not only is
[55:11]he a Believer but we're told that he's also an Alim and
[55:15]a scholar and here therefore is the first part of my analysis
[55:20]before we can even look at what takes place and what he
[55:24]does to m is that inan and in the history of Allah
[55:31]subhana wa tala's Messengers often you'll find this idea that there is
[55:35]a scholar or a person of knowledge who becomes worse than the
[55:38]Believers that exist at that time Allah subhana waala was telling us
[55:45]something very important that if you have knowledge but you don't couple
[55:50]that knowledge with action or if you have knowledge and you don't
[55:55]couple that knowledge with tesia of your then if that person becomes
[56:01]astray he becomes more dangerous than when a normal believer becomes astray
[56:06]when a normal believer becomes as a astray they misguide themselves but
[56:11]when a person of knowledge doesn't do Tes of their own NFS
[56:15]and doesn't act upon that which they know not only are they
[56:22]themselves misguided they misguide those around them also and so what we
[56:28]found about is that even though he's an and a scholar because
[56:31]he didn't do tesy of his own nefs and because he didn't
[56:37]act upon that which he knew he was led astray for if
[56:42]I want the secret to my success in this world in regards
[56:44]to my position with Allah subhana wa taala someone may ask the
[56:48]question how can I get as close to my Lord as possible
[56:53]what is the way that I can Ascend to such a state
[56:57]that I am as close to Allah subhah wa ta'ala as possible
[57:00]the answer is this have knowledge of the religion of your lord
[57:03]and act upon it if you do these two things you will
[57:09]see yourself spiritually Ascend towards Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and how many
[57:13]examples of this did we have in history that people that not
[57:16]only were knowledgeable of scripture of Quran Kim of text of sh
[57:24]of but because their NPS was pure they reach the highest levels
[57:28]that a servant can reach on this Earth let me give you
[57:33]an example we have a person who lived during the time of
[57:35]the prophet of Islam Muhammad s Al who initially is not a
[57:44]Muslim by the name of is of the non-muslims that lives in
[57:49]Medina and M according to the historians was very wealthy but also
[57:56]very knowledgeable he had knowledge of the scriptures the previous abrahamic scriptures
[58:01]he had knowledge of Shar he used to worship Allah subh one
[58:05]God we're told that when the prophet of Islam migrates to there
[58:11]are the non-muslims that live there already when the prophet of Islam
[58:18]then migrates to Medina with with a group of Muslims the Muslims
[58:24]come to the non-muslims and they make an agreement he say look
[58:27]you live in Medina we live in Medina we're not here to
[58:31]harm anyone we're here to live and believe in the prophet of
[58:34]Islam and his Lord you also wish to live peacefully with us
[58:38]to both of us Medina is something dear something that we wish
[58:45]to have and keep safe therefore because both of us these groups
[58:50]live in let's make an agreement and that agreement is that if
[58:54]any of our lives are in danger if there is a group
[58:59]of people from qur that come to attack us or come to
[59:02]attack you your livelihood is in danger your life is in danger
[59:07]if one group is at risk of their life the other one
[59:09]will come and support them and so the non-muslim said that this
[59:14]makes sense if our lives are in danger the people of the
[59:17]Prophet will come and support us if their lives are in danger
[59:19]we shall support them also and so we're told that eventually what
[59:25]takes place during the time of the battle of is that the
[59:27]lives of the Muslim is in danger from the qur and so
[59:35]when these Muslim prepare themselves to defend them and their honor and
[59:39]their lives they come to the non-muslims and they come and say
[59:45]that we made an agreement a few years ago honor that agreement
[59:48]and help us and defend us and protect us and so we're
[59:51]told that the day that this war or this battle started was
[59:56]a day on which these non-muslims would spend on I like today
[60:01]on a Friday we're told to do certain things to beautify yourself
[60:06]to cut your nails to groom to do worship of your lord
[60:09]and there are different times of the day of J where more
[60:15]things are recommended than others recite this in the morning recite this
[60:19]close to gr likewise they had this kind of program for themselves
[60:22]on that day and so a group of them when they were
[60:27]told come and honor your agreement and defend the prophet of Islam
[60:30]and his people they said we would love to but today is
[60:36]a time of it's a day of worship for us we can't
[60:37]leave these things and go and defend him this is a day
[60:43]of worship if it was any other day we would stand and
[60:45]honor our agreement here we're told this what did I say not
[60:51]only does he have knowledge without knowledge you are left without any
[60:55]direction if a person doesn't have knowledge of their religion and ofam
[60:58]they are like wild sheep sometimes they're made to go in this
[61:02]direction sometimes you're made to go in that direction has knowledge not
[61:09]knowledge of Quran knowledge of the scriptures of M but he also
[61:14]had purified his NS he realized that in our Shar his Shar
[61:20]not the Sharia of the prophet of Islam in our what is
[61:23]more important to do on this day or to protect the lives
[61:29]of those that we have promised to protect m stands up he
[61:31]says if all of you shall not do so I will go
[61:34]myself and so he leaves them he urges them to come they
[61:41]don't come as I said is very wealthy he comes first to
[61:44]his wife and children he says every single amount of money that
[61:50]I have I have gifted it to the prophet of Islam this
[61:52]is my last will then he goes towards the battlefield and some
[61:56]historians say that before he entered into the battlefield he recites the
[62:00]shahada and becomes a Muslim others say no he died like this
[62:05]but he died a believer in Allah subhanahu wa taala and his
[62:08]messenger he becomes a Shah of not only did he reach such
[62:14]a status that he stood alongside the prophet Islam alongst the people
[62:18]of oh not only that however also the houses that he had
[62:24]the gardens that he had we're told he had seven Gardens in
[62:27]Medina all were gifted to the prophet of Islam and these were
[62:30]used to support Islam during the formative period in Medina how did
[62:37]he reach such a status that some say the the the garden
[62:39]of fedc used to be his ownership that he then gifted to
[62:45]the prophet of Islam how did he reach such a status he
[62:47]reached such a status because not only did he have knowledge he
[62:51]purified himself he acted upon the knowledge that he had that he
[62:57]reached his Ascension in this world and so when it comes to
[63:00]the reason why that person who has extensive knowledge of the tah
[63:05]becomes astray and Allah subhah wa ta'ala sends his punishment on him
[63:10]is that that knowledge didn't take him closer to Allah subhah wa
[63:15]ta'ala that knowledge was on one side the sins that he committed
[63:18]and the transgressions that he performed one another here we're told therefore
[63:23]that initially is someone who is with mus as I said he
[63:30]has knowledge he doesn't practice but there was one turning point that
[63:34]changes him from a Believer into a person of disbelief and that
[63:38]is that Quran Kim mentions that Allah subhanahu wa taala gives him
[63:46]more wealth than anyone during that time that becomes so wealthy Quran
[63:50]Kim says that he needed a number of people just to carry
[63:55]the keys for the storage where he would keep his wealth in
[64:00]that he has so much wealth the keys require a number of
[64:04]of Youth to be carried so that he can enter and access
[64:07]his wealth and this tells us something else about this world for
[64:13]as you'll see in this story and as Quran Kim mentions wealth
[64:17]necessarily wasn't a bad thing Quran Kim refers to wealth as as
[64:22]that which is good because with wealth you can gain what Allah
[64:30]subhanahu wa ta'ala detested wasn't wealth was love of the dun is
[64:34]someone that was given so much wealth what was the effect that
[64:42]that wealth had on him we have a narration from where he
[64:50]says intoxication is of four types normally I think intoxication I think
[64:56]alcohol whereas Quran Kim also mentions different types of intoxication says the
[65:05]first type of intoxication yes is intoxication of of wine and alcohol
[65:10]he says the second type of intoxication the intoxication of sleep sometimes
[65:15]I wake up from the during the time of f but I'm
[65:21]still half asleep I pray my Salah it's as if I'm in
[65:22]a state of intoxication meaning if someone was to ask me a
[65:28]certain question at that time I don't know what's going on I
[65:30]don't have my senses I'm in the intoxication of Nome or the
[65:35]intoxication of sleep says likewise we have two other types of intoxication
[65:41]and it seems that these other two are much worse than the
[65:44]first two the first alcohol the second sleep he says the third
[65:50]the intoxication of wealth for you have seen yourself or you have
[65:53]heard in your lives you may have seen one person before he
[65:58]didn't have that much wealth after they gained some wealth and Allah
[66:01]subhana wa ta'ala gave them risk they became a different person you
[66:05]don't recognize them anymore due to the wealth that they have why
[66:09]because that wealth sometimes brings a type of intoxication where you don't
[66:15]recognize who is in front of you you forget your values he
[66:18]says the fourth type is the intoxication of power for how many
[66:24]times have I seen someone get a the smallest position available the
[66:29]position isn't even a big position a small position in their community
[66:32]in their society in their workplace but suddenly they are Intoxicated by
[66:37]the power that they gain and so they're unable to think straight
[66:41]and so the point where we saw thaton changed from a Believer
[66:48]to a disbeliever was this that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala showered him
[66:52]with his Mercy he became the richest person of all of the
[67:00]people of M and that is when he became intoxicated and so
[67:04]Allah subhah wa ta'ala doesn't hate wealth Allah subhah wa ta'ala knows
[67:08]what wealth sometimes does to a person let me give you an
[67:12]example before I take the the discussion further a group of companions
[67:17]they said one day we're walking with the prophet of Islam Muhammad
[67:26]outside Medina we're traveling we reach a certain point the prophet of
[67:32]Islam says we're thirsty let us see if we can get some
[67:35]milk or something to drink there are farmers here and it is
[67:38]very normal during that time when you're traveling you stop you ask
[67:42]someone they feed you this is part of the norm so they
[67:47]stop a farmer and they say to him do you have any
[67:53]milk for us so the farmer says look currently there is milk
[67:56]my animals have milk but this milk is for to this afternoon
[68:01]and the other milk that is there is for my family tomorrow
[68:03]morning so I would love to have given you some but I've
[68:09]already done the what is there now is for what we're going
[68:11]to drink as a family in the afternoon and what is left
[68:15]is that which will we shall use tomorrow the prophet says no
[68:21]problem the prophet Islam raises his hands and does a Dua for
[68:24]him and says yaah Allah give him abundant wealth they carry on
[68:31]they see another person Prophet says stop him they stopped him they
[68:35]said do you have anything for the prophet of Islam we're traveling
[68:37]says what would the prophet of Islam require he says we just
[68:42]want milk to drink so this person the animals that are there
[68:44]he takes all the milk that is present and gives it to
[68:48]the prophet then he brings other animals that he has at another
[68:50]location and all the milk that is there he gives to the
[68:56]companions then he sacrific is an animal he cooks food and gives
[68:59]it to the prophet of Islam also puts his hands up in
[69:04]Dua but this Dua is different to the first the first Dua
[69:07]oh Allah give him risk abundantly shower him with his wealth the
[69:13]second Dua that Allah subhana wa tala does is oh Allah give
[69:19]him enough risk to cover his expenses and that which he needs
[69:22]so the companions they said Allah you you did the opposite what
[69:27]do you mean he says for the first person who didn't give
[69:32]you anything you should have said oh Allah give him enough to
[69:35]cover what he needs for the second one you should have said
[69:37]shower him abundantly with your wealth why did you do the opposite
[69:42]he says no you didn't understand that person was Intoxicated by his
[69:47]wealth the punishment that he gets in this world is Allah showers
[69:50]him with his wealth he becomes further away from Allah subhana wa
[69:53]ta'ala the second person he has wealth it hasn't reached the level
[70:00]where it's intoxicated him he still thinks straight he doesn't have love
[70:03]of dun in his heart and so I prayed for him that
[70:07]this remains I told Allah subhana wa ta'ala give him wealth but
[70:11]not so much that he forgets his Lord and so the idea
[70:16]is thaton due to that intoxication forgot Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and
[70:21]the message of M and so we're told that when people saw
[70:23]the wealth ofun and they saw the arrogance of of this person
[70:29]he's given a number of pieces of advice Quran Kim mentions those
[70:32]pieces of advice and there is a difference of opinion amongst mu
[70:37]as to who The Giver of advice is were these two or
[70:43]three pieces of advice given to him by m or were they
[70:48]given to him by the other and Scholars that were there it
[70:53]seems that it was a group of people a group of people
[70:55]of knowledge they came to him they said oh do good to
[71:01]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the way that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[71:05]has done good to you Allah subhana wa ta'ala has showered you
[71:09]with wealth do good to Allah subhana wa ta'ala also worship Him
[71:14]and this money that you have as I said money is not
[71:19]a bad thing use that wealth to gain the Allah subhana wa
[71:23]tala has given you something you can build a offer you can
[71:25]do this you can do use that money for the and then
[71:30]they gave him a third piece of advice and this is very
[71:35]interesting they said look Allah subhah wa ta'ala has created a system
[71:38]on this Earth that which you require and need will be given
[71:41]to you whatever is extra you are unable to use it says
[71:47]what do you mean today you for example bought food for 100
[71:54]people you're on your own you bought food for for 100 people
[71:56]can you finish that food can you eat all of that food
[72:02]you'll eat a maximum amount and then you'll reach a a level
[72:05]where you can't eat anything further the rest will always be taken
[72:10]by others this is a principle that Allah subhana wa ta'ala has
[72:14]placed in this world I the money that I have I use
[72:18]it on myself but then I reach a limit I physically I'm
[72:21]unable to use anymore no matter how many houses I have I'll
[72:24]reach a limit where physically I can't live in all of them
[72:28]even if I had this many houses and I was there one
[72:32]one house every month I reach a limit I'll have certain houses
[72:35]that I'm not using Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says eventually you will
[72:40]reach your limit and all that is extra will be the n
[72:46]and the shares of others meaning what meaning either it will be
[72:50]the share and it will go into the ownership of your family
[72:52]when you die you didn't use it it went to your children
[72:56]or that food that you threw away it became the share of
[73:01]a homeless person that ate it or it became the share of
[73:04]the animals that ate the risk that you didn't eat so karun
[73:08]was being told you have all this wealth a lot of it
[73:10]you won't be able to use so give it in the way
[73:13]of Allah subhah wa taala Quran then mentions the response that gives
[73:21]to these people and this is a response that you will find
[73:25]you hear often in your day-to-day life you see a person who
[73:30]used to be poor and Allah subhah wa ta'ala blessed him with
[73:32]wealth and often you tell them give it to this person give
[73:37]it to that person they mention this response says when I gained
[73:39]this wealth why did I gain that wealth you're telling me to
[73:44]give it to that person and this person and gain my the
[73:47]wealth that I had why was it given to me he says
[73:51]the reason I was given that wealth is because I've got an
[73:55]because I'm knowledgeable in other words he said I have worked hard
[74:01]for my own wealth those poor people can work hard for their
[74:04]wealth also and this is what you often hear sometimes a person
[74:09]needs money he comes to a rich person and says I need
[74:11]to buy a house I don't have feed food I'm unwell I
[74:15]need to pay for medical treatment he'll say in the way that
[74:18]I worked hard for my wealth you also work hard for your
[74:22]wealth didn't understand something and that is that true ownership in this
[74:28]world only belongs to Allah subhah wa ta'ala today you have clothing
[74:35]today you have a house today you have food you believe that
[74:39]that is your ownership it was never your ownership we call this
[74:46]in Arabic this that is on my shoulders I don't own it
[74:49]if I own it it would never go away from me but
[74:53]when I die it separated from me the only true owner of
[74:56]anything in this world is Allah subhah wa ta'ala which is why
[75:01]in Dua you recite and inshallah you shall recite oh the best
[75:08]inheritor meaning what meaning you always belonged to him when I left
[75:12]this world Allah an example and this example should show me and
[75:29]you the wealth that I have how did it come to me
[75:34]if often I become arrogant I worked hard for this it took
[75:36]me years methan to buy a house this wealth where did it
[75:41]come from take this example I'm traveling from one city to another
[75:46]and as I'm embarking on that Journey a person comes to me
[75:52]and says you're going me from London to Manchester isn't it I
[75:57]said yes he says look in Manchester my family are there my
[76:01]family live in Manchester and it's been a while that they don't
[76:04]have anything to eat I live in London they in Manchester can
[76:09]you take this as an AM 500 as an Aman said no
[76:14]problem if you want me to take this money for your family
[76:18]I'll take it so as I'm about to take it he says
[76:19]actually look because you're doing a favor for me you're taking this
[76:25]money for my wife and children that are in Manchester from this
[76:29]500 you keep 40000 of it give to my family is that
[76:33]okay it's no problem would any of us if we were given
[76:38]that deal someone came to me with £500 for his family then
[76:43]he said you keep 400 you're doing a favor for me just
[76:45]give 100 to my family would any of us take that 400
[76:50]and take the 100 or so of course not 100 he wants
[76:55]to give to his family only the majority he's placed in my
[76:57]pocket this is the example of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala me and
[77:05]you and for in the way that this person in this example
[77:07]says my family are there give them a part of that money
[77:12]the rest belongs to you likewise in the we're told Allah subhah
[77:16]waala says the poor people are like my family I gave you
[77:23]wealth I gave you that salary that you earned I said give
[77:28]a portion of that to those poor people in actual fact all
[77:30]of it belonged to me I said you can keep it give
[77:33]a portion of that to those people if even then I didn't
[77:37]give it to them what type of person would I be for
[77:39]all wealth belongs to Allah subhah wa taala and so they came
[77:45]to with these three pieces of advice andun didn't listen in fact
[77:50]does something that Quran Kim mentions in response to this advice of
[77:54]these people people for when he hears them telling him given the
[77:59]way of Allah subhah wa ta'ala wishes to show his wealth and
[78:05]so we're not sure exactly how he does so and historical reports
[78:08]are different in regards to what he does but he begins to
[78:10]show all of the city the wealth that he has and so
[78:14]there is some sort of parade and he parades on animals all
[78:19]of the gold that he has all of the wealth that he
[78:21]has so everyone can see the money ofun and here then Quran
[78:27]mentions two different types of people and compare it with yourself when
[78:31]if you were to see great amount of wealth today what would
[78:33]be your reaction when the people of M saw this great amount
[78:39]of wealth ofun Quran Kim says the people were split into two
[78:42]one group of people said if only we could have wealth like
[78:49]had in other words what they saw when a person is showing
[78:52]his wealth they believe to be positive why why is it that
[78:58]they saw that and they believed it to be something good if
[79:00]only we had that if only we could be in his position
[79:05]the reason is is that sometimes I as a human being I'm
[79:13]aware that I don't have the qualities within me that Allah subhah
[79:17]wa ta'ala wishes for me to have sometimes I know that but
[79:19]when I see someone with those qualities I realize that that's a
[79:26]good think what do I mean I'll explain with an example I
[79:28]for example know that I shouldn't be stingy I should be generous
[79:34]Allah subhana wa tala loves the generous one but I'm stingy I
[79:38]know I shouldn't be but when I see someone in my community
[79:44]or society that is generous I realize this is a good thing
[79:46]I look at them and say if only I could be like
[79:50]that this is one type of person I know for example that
[79:53]I don't have knowledge but when I see someone one having knowledge
[79:57]of Quran I say that's a good thing I wish I could
[79:59]be like that this person this first person he has a chance
[80:06]that person is able to inculcate those qualities if they work hard
[80:10]but you have a second type of person for this second type
[80:16]of person the problem is worse that person himself is arrogant even
[80:21]though Allah subhana wa tala says be humble but when he sees
[80:24]a humble person he doesn't like them the first person sees humility
[80:30]understands that humility is a good thing understands that that person is
[80:36]a good person the second one that arrogance is so deeply rooted
[80:40]in his heart or in her heart that not only are they
[80:43]themselves arrogant they only wish to see arrogant people around them that
[80:47]according to them arrogance becomes something M something good when they see
[80:53]an arrogant person they wish to to be like him this was
[80:57]the situation of those people that not only do you have love
[80:59]for dun in your heart when you see someone far away from
[81:04]dun you say I don't want a person like that and we
[81:06]unfortunately sometimes we have this in our minds I myself and indulged
[81:12]in the world if I see someone far away from the world
[81:14]what's this person doing why is he doing that instead of realizing
[81:20]that that person is doing something good and so these people the
[81:24]first group of people they reacted in this way if only we
[81:26]could have wealth like him the second group of people Quran Kim
[81:31]says are those with IM and those who were given knowledge and
[81:34]their response to they said yes he has shown us great amounts
[81:38]of wealth and we have never seen wealth like this before in
[81:43]this dun but the treasures of Allah subhah wa ta'ala are much
[81:47]greater than this for no matter how much wealth you have in
[81:51]this world it is no it has no comparison to the wealth
[81:59]of Allah waala Quan then says that once has shown his wealth
[82:02]to the people then finally the final incident that takes place in
[82:06]his history leads to his destruction and within this incident is a
[82:11]very important message for me and you especially during Shah Ramadan what
[82:20]took place M teaches his people Shar slowly in the way that
[82:23]the prophet of Islam Muhammad Sall alaihi [Music] the laws that we
[82:34]have of the sh didn't come from the beginning in they gradually
[82:37]came to the people when they were ready to accept these things
[82:41]m one day comes to his people and says from today Allah
[82:47]subhah wa ta'ala tells you that you must give zakat a proportion
[82:51]of your money has to go to charity many people many Believers
[82:56]they'll believe everything and they'll act on anything as soon as it
[83:01]comes to something to do with wealth and money it's very difficult
[83:04]for them this is their this is their test anything else you
[83:07]tell me to pray all night I'll pray all night you tell
[83:10]me to give me give it becomes difficult for me because it's
[83:16]to do with money so when he was told I now have
[83:18]to give a proportion of my wealth and of course when you
[83:23]have more wealth the Zak the the is more he says now
[83:27]you're telling me that I have to give a large amount of
[83:30]wealth to M he didn't want to believe it he didn't want
[83:34]to accept it and so here does something and this is a
[83:40]sign for me and you when I want to realize when a
[83:45]person truly is misguided for sometimes I don't accept something I don't
[83:49]believe something it's difficult for me to accept or practice but I
[83:53]keep it there you might have a person and they themselves they
[83:58]don't give it's difficult for them fine Allah subhana wa tala shall
[84:02]deal with that person in the way that he wishes to but
[84:04]sometimes you have a person they themselves don't practice they misguide others
[84:09]around them also this is the worst creation of Allah subhana wa
[84:15]tala you it didn't make sense to you you didn't practice why
[84:17]then do you take others away from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also
[84:21]this is a sign of someone that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has
[84:26]has taken his Mercy away from them it didn't make sense to
[84:28]you don't do it don't tell others also so that they shall
[84:33]be misguided so that your questioning will be increased on the day
[84:37]of says I don't want to give this zakat but he told
[84:41]a group of people around him why should we give this money
[84:44]he gathers a number of people from his community they respect him
[84:47]because he has money he says look M told us to pray
[84:52]we prayed he told us to leave own we left him he
[84:56]told us to do this we did it but now m is
[85:00]telling us to give zakat do you know what this is said
[85:02]what is this this is Musa wishing to take our money and
[85:07]spend it on himself meaning he's made up this excuse of zakat
[85:10]so he can spend it and use it for himself so these
[85:15]people they said you're right why would he ask us to give
[85:21]money something's wrong here and so then karun says I will make
[85:24]a plan and this will be the destruction of M and according
[85:30]to some re one of the reasons he did so also did
[85:31]so also is because he wished to have the leadership of the
[85:38]people of mahatam for himself and so he gets a woman he
[85:41]tells her in front of M you will give false false witnessing
[85:48]that Haram has taken place between you and M and we'll give
[85:52]you this amount of money she says no problem the next day
[85:57]mam is preaching to his people comes forward M says do this
[86:03]don't do this Allah says this is Haram Allah says this is
[86:07]Haram Allah says that these type of relationships are forbidden and if
[86:11]someone does so they shall be punished in this world and the
[86:14]next so says Allah will punish in this world and the next
[86:21]even if you were to do the action M says yes even
[86:26]if it was me that performed that action Allah subhana wa tala
[86:29]would punish me so says I am ready to prove that you
[86:35]have performed that sin in this world also m is shocked says
[86:39]if I have proven it we should punish you in in front
[86:45]of everyone says what are you talking about they bring that woman
[86:48]that woman were told as soon as as soon as she comes
[86:52]in that Gathering and she sees the face of M she's unable
[86:56]to say that which they had told her to say m comes
[87:02]to her and says by the name of my Lord you will
[87:07]say only but the truth when he takes oath of that woman
[87:13]immediately confesses everything and says that these people wish to frame you
[87:17]and punish you so that could take the leadership for himself at
[87:21]that moment in time Quran Kim says M asks Allah subhanahu wa
[87:27]taala to send his punishment on Allah subhana wa tala says mus
[87:33]you pray for it I'll give it to you but I said
[87:34]there's a message here in this incident this final incident that takes
[87:37]place mam prays once the other people that were also involved the
[87:47]punishment came on them also Musa prays once a third ofun goes
[87:50]under the the earth the earth swallows onethird of him when realiz
[87:56]realizes what is happening he looks at M and says Allah forgive
[88:02]me I'm sorry I shouldn't have done what I have done but
[88:04]we're told in the books of History MSA is so enraged at
[88:10]that time he does the Dua a second time when he does
[88:12]the Dua a second time 2third ofun now are swallowed by the
[88:18]earthon looks at mus again and says oh forgive me I shouldn't
[88:20]have done what I did M says no I won't listen listen
[88:25]to anything that you say to me he did it a third
[88:30]time and all of the earth swallowed him when that took place
[88:33]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala revealed to M and said oh M it
[88:38]seems you weren't the creator of says what do you mean oh
[88:43]my Lord he says because he asked you three times not once
[88:46]did you forgive him I am the creator of a person that
[88:51]has accused the prophet of God a person that wishes to punish
[88:54]false a prophet of God look at how Allah subhah wa ta'ala
[88:59]speaks about him that person is punishable and shall be punished but
[89:03]Allah said if he had asked me only once for True forgiveness
[89:06]I would have given him forgiveness there and then if this is
[89:11]how Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is ready to treat someone like if
[89:17]he had asked Allah subhanahu wa tal sincerely for forgiveness then me
[89:21]and you are trying to believe trying to be Believers in our
[89:25]Lord me and you are gathered here to remember our Lord and
[89:29]therefore what would be the response of my Lord if in the
[89:33]nights of Shah Ramadan I truly ask my Lord Allah subhah wa
[89:36]taala for forgiveness if he's willing to give his Mercy I would
[89:41]have forgiven him at that time because I am his creator how
[89:43]would my Creator have mercy on me and you if in the
[89:48]nights of Shah Ramadan we were able to ask Allah subhanahu wa
[89:50]ta'ala sincerely for his forgiveness and so we pray to Allah subhana
[89:54]on these nights as we have entered the second 10 nights of
[89:59]Shah Ramadan and as we are soon to come to celebrate IM
[90:02]hassanat to not only accept all of the things that we have
[90:08]placed in front of our Lord up until now but to give
