[0:07]the subject that I was asked to discuss was embracing life's trials
[0:18]and taking lessons from IM Muhammad and from the and from these
[0:26]days the days of that we are right now now living and
[0:35]going through of course as we know Allah subhanahu waala created us
[0:42]with a purpose and one of the reasons of our creation is
[0:46]so that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tests us this is one of
[0:51]the purposes of existence one of the purposes of life to be
[0:55]tested and Allah subhah wa ta'ala mentions this in the Quran in
[1:00]several verses in the Quran inah mul the first few verses of
[1:09]Surah mul Allah subhah wa ta'ala says in the Quran Allah subhanahu
[1:26]wa ta'ala in his hands the Dominion of everything is in the
[1:31]hands of Allah subhah wa tala he created death and life why
[1:39]to test you so that you go through trials so that you
[1:45]are tested now someone might say why does Allah subhah wa ta'ala
[1:49]test me why is Allah putting me through tests why is Allah
[1:54]putting me through difficulties and trials I can't handle this this is
[1:59]too much for me well Allah subhana wa ta'ala tests us for
[2:02]several reasons one of them is to tell who is the mmin
[2:07]and who is the non-m who is the believer and who's the
[2:10]non-believer a few days ago and in these days we see many
[2:15]of our friends many of people that we know that are graduating
[2:19]right now does everyone graduate in the same level no there are
[2:25]some people who graduate with honors there are some people who graduate
[2:29]and go to the best university ities and there are others who
[2:32]graduate with not such high grades and this is a reflection of
[2:39]the tests and the exams that they were faced in school well
[2:42]when it comes to the bigger picture when it comes to our
[2:45]whole life our whole existence Allah subhah wa ta'ala is also testing
[2:52]us and this is how Allah subhanahu wa tala will distinguish between
[2:56]the believer and the non-believer in one verse ver Allah says in
[3:01]the Quran do people think that they're going to be left they
[3:12]just say today 1.5 billion people say we are Muslims they all
[3:17]automatically go to heaven each one is in their own level there
[3:22]are from the Muslim there are there are believers there are those
[3:28]who prove their faith day and night every day they tested they
[3:31]prove their faith and they prove their loyalty to their religion to
[3:34]the Quran to to the Al and there are hypocrites from amongst
[3:39]the Muslims as well the Quran talks about them and a whole
[3:44]chapter in the Quran is so Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala test us
[3:49]and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will reward and Elevate the ranks of
[3:58]the m and of course for the m these tests in this
[4:03]life they move they go by very quickly because they know that
[4:06]the reward is very great they know that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[4:12]will compensate Allah subhah wa ta'ala will reward and when you see
[4:17]the Hadith says that when the mmin sees the reward that Allah
[4:20]subhah wa ta'ala has given them for the trials and the test
[4:26]that they faced in this dun they will wish that their whole
[4:30]life was test and trials in aith the IM he says I
[4:39]believe from Imam he says that one night a mmin a believer
[4:43]One night having a fever we don't like having a fever when
[4:47]you have a fever you can't even raise your head you have
[4:50]to be laying down you get the chills you're feeling cold and
[4:53]hot and it's it's it's punishment or it's it's torture but the
[5:01]mmin who is patient when they see the reward of one night
[5:07]one night having a fever on the day of judgment and Jenna
[5:10]when they see the reward that Allah subhana wa tala is giving
[5:15]this person who is patient who did not complain who did not
[5:18]question why is God doing this to me why is Allah putting
[5:22]me in these trials they will wish that their whole life they
[5:26]had a fever when they see the reward that Allah subhana wa
[5:29]tala gives you now this is just a fever imagine the M
[5:34]that are tested with trials that are much more difficult some people
[5:38]they're tested with their children some people they're tested with illness some
[5:42]people are tested with poverty some people are tested in different ways
[5:47]Allah subhah wa ta'ala has promised us in the Quran this is
[5:49]a guarantee by Allah no one will be able to escape this
[6:02]meaning that you shall all be tested this the scholars of they
[6:09]say this W this is the Lamb the lamb that comes this
[6:19]is called meaning this is a by Allah this is a vow
[6:23]by God does God break his promises no and noon that noon
[6:30]that comes after it this is called meaning the first is a
[6:33]this is a vow by God and the meaning this is something
[6:38]that will surely happen some people fear today there are a lot
[6:46]of people they're afraid they're afraid to pray they're afraid to practice
[6:51]their religion in public because they don't want people looking at them
[6:55]this is a type of test hunger right now alhamdulillah most of
[7:03]us here we eat and we eat and we eat and alhamdulillah
[7:07]we have access to food there are people there are people right
[7:11]now right now while we are eating and drinking and sleeping and
[7:16]we're very comfortable there are people that don't have food to SLE
[7:19]eat and food and and water to drink on a night like
[7:23]this right now in Gazza we've been hearing about it since October
[7:26]the people are hungry the people are thirsty they have nothing this
[7:31]is a test and some people are tested with wealth with poverty
[7:42]with children losing their family losing members that they love but then
[7:47]Allah says in the Quran and and give Glad Tidings to those
[7:58]who are patient give Glad Tidings to those who are believers and
[8:03]those who are patient who those who when they are afflicted with
[8:12]tragedy they say to Allah we belong and to Allah we shall
[8:16]return so my dear brothers and sisters life's trials no one could
[8:23]escape from have you seen someone that comes and tells you I
[8:27]have no problems in life you'll never you'll never find that person
[8:30]maybe we look at someone and we say I wish I had
[8:35]this person's money I wish I had this person's power I wish
[8:39]I had this person's whatever all these things that we look at
[8:44]in other people but that person that we are looking at they
[8:47]are looking at us and they're saying I wish I had this
[8:50]and I wish I had that because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has
[8:53]his own way some people they're giv wealth but they're not giv
[8:57]Health some people they're giv health and wealth but they're not given
[9:03]family for example or children some people they have everything but they
[9:06]can't get married some people they are married but they're struggling in
[9:09]their marriage everyone is tested in one way or another we have
[9:13]to be willing and have that strong Iman which will help us
[9:20]cope and deal with life's difficulties and challenges and the moment we
[9:24]have that then you could guarantee that you will survive anything you
[9:28]will be able in any circumstance whatever you are placed in you
[9:35]will be able to survive it and this is why your faith
[9:37]and your Salah and your IM in Allah and the acts of
[9:43]worship some of us we look at these acts of worship and
[9:47]we say oh why do I have to do this look at
[9:47]the non-muslims they're free they could do whatever they want I have
[9:52]to dress in a particular way I have to set my schedule
[9:54]so that I wake up at prayer time and then I have
[9:58]to fast in this month and I have to tr during the
[10:01]and I have to give my and I have to give my
[10:02]zakat some people they feel like they're being choked they feel like
[10:08]their their religion is constricting them but my dear brothers and sisters
[10:15]believe me all of these this prayer this this the the all
[10:20]of this is an investment this is all you strengthening your faith
[10:26]so that you will be able to cope with and deal with
[10:29]life's challenges when life throws challenges at you if you have strong
[10:34]faith in Allah subhana ta'ala if you have invested in this relationship
[10:38]with God then you will be able to cope with any difficulty
[10:44]and any challenge that you're put in and those are the in
[10:57]the verse that I began with in Allah subhana wa tala describes
[11:14]the insan the human being who is always being tested and many
[11:19]people they fell they succumb in front of Desires in front of
[11:23]sins in front of the challenges of the D except who except
[11:30]those who have a healthy relationship with God those who not only
[11:39]just pray on the one day out of the week or they
[11:44]just you know whenever they feel like it no those who are
[11:49]consistently praying they consistently have the healthy relationship with Allah subhana tala
[11:56]if you have that you will be able to deal with life's
[12:00]challenges my dear brothers and sisters I'm just going to talk a
[12:03]little bit more and then I want to open it up to
[12:07]a Q&A and open it up to um hearing back from you
[12:12]as well but these days these days and within a month within
[12:15]a month from now we are going to be commemorating one of
[12:18]the greatest of the tragedies and that is the tragedy of IM
[12:23]Hussein you think IM husin God does not like him that Allah
[12:26]subhana wa tala put him through that no Allah subhana loved IM
[12:32]Hussein and this is why Allah tested him a few hours a
[12:35]few days of difficulty and test but forever IM Hussein is eternalized
[12:41]yesterday we commemorated IM Muhammad alak imak he along with his son
[12:50]Imad and his father IM Z and the imams of the they
[12:53]all teach us how to embrace life's challenges how to deal with
[13:00]challenges a man comes to IM and he tells himd I've reached
[13:07]a state in my life where I enjoy difficulties where I enjoy
[13:15]pain over comfort and I enjoy poverty over wealth and I enjoy
[13:23]pain in my body over Health this is the level of faith
[13:28]that I have reached IM the IM IM he tells him this
[13:34]is not how we are though you should not throw yourself on
[13:37]the tri on the trials and on the difficulties and say I
[13:42]want that there are some people they say in order for me
[13:44]to diff to be I have to throw myself towards difficulty the
[13:51]Imam tells him no Allah subhana says ask for a good life
[13:58]but we the we are those who when God gives us dun
[14:04]we say thank you oh Allah because through dun you are also
[14:07]being tested today some of us we think that only those who
[14:11]are sick they're being tested but those who are healthy they're not
[14:14]being tested only those who are poor they are being tested but
[14:17]those who are wealthy they're not being tested and this is wrong
[14:21]a very wrong thinking because both are being tested one of them
[14:25]just doesn't realize that they're being tested when I have health sometimes
[14:29]I forget that I'm a test when I have wealth sometimes I'm
[14:32]enjoying my money so much that I forget that God is testing
[14:36]me with every single dollar and Cent that I have so the
[14:40]IM he says we the we don't say I embrace all of
[14:46]the difficulties in life instead we say if God gave me health
[14:49]I say but if God gave me difficulty I don't object to
[14:55]Allah subhana tala meaning that we have to always be pleased with
[15:00]that which Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has destined for us and this
[15:04]is the highest level of Iman when you are willing to say
[15:09]alhamdulillah and this is this is something that a m is supposed
[15:15]to always say alhamdulillah alhamdulillah see there's Shah and there's alhamdulillah they
[15:23]say that you say only when something positive happens your way if
[15:29]someone gave you if someone gave you a gift you say shukr
[15:35]and you say sh but alhamdulillah it's more General more broad alhamdulillah
[15:41]you say it in Easy times and in difficult times so if
[15:45]someone gave you something say alhamdulillah If you became poor say alhamdulillah
[15:50]if you were given a child say alhamdulillah if you had someone
[15:57]die in your family also say alhamdulillah because alhamdulillah the statement says
[16:06]meaning that we don't say praise to anyone other than Allah subhana
[16:14]tala even in times of difficulty my dear brothers and sisters these
[16:19]days are the days of Hajj and the days of Hajj they're
[16:22]all falling in the footsteps all of the of the from the
[16:29]between sa and from the around the Kaa from the stoning of
[16:32]the Shan from the slaughtering of the sacrifice all of this Falls
[16:40]and we're following in the footsteps of which prophet which prophet Prophet
[16:47]ibraim Alam Prophet ibraim Alam was tested and tested and tested so
[16:53]many difficult tests one of his first tests ibraim Alam was a
[16:59]young youth ibraim he lived in in Ur the city of UR
[17:04]Iraq which is current day probably Babylon or where nasria is that
[17:13]area in Iraq that's where Prophet ibraim Alam was from ibraim he
[17:18]had his uncle with him who comes and he tells him I
[17:23]want you to sell these idols and I want you to go
[17:25]around selling Idols his his uncle Azar he had Idol selling business
[17:32]but ibraim he realized that this Idol can't do anything what can
[17:35]it do it's ma it's man-made it's a piece of wood a
[17:41]piece of whatever it is and ibraim he saw that it did
[17:43]not make any sense to worship an idol so he began to
[17:46]tie a rope around the neck of the idol and he would
[17:50]drag it and he says whoever wants to worship a God that
[17:52]can't help itself and can't do anything this these are the idols
[17:57]and whoever wants to worship a god a Lord that listens and
[18:00]hears then worship The One and Only God until we all know
[18:06]the story ibraim he went and he broke the idols except the
[18:09]big one they decided to throw ibraim in the fire ibraim was
[18:15]a youth Ibrahim was young he was a young man they placed
[18:17]him in a catapult and they threw him in a fire that
[18:22]they had taken days days to build that fire you see this
[18:28]fire right now it was a fire that was is many many
[18:30]times larger than this they told everyone in the city go and
[18:36]collect wood and go and collect Twigs so it was a huge
[18:38]fire that the birds that would fly they would fall down in
[18:42]the fire they didn't know how to throw ibraim in the fire
[18:44]how are they going to get near so they decided to make
[18:48]and the Hadith says Shan taught them to make the Catapult they
[18:53]made the Catapult and they threw ibraim in the fire but Allah
[18:59]tells the fire meaning that God is saying I'm going to test
[19:08]you but I'm also going to be there with you Allah is
[19:13]not going to leave us in our tests Even in our more
[19:14]most difficult hours Even in our most difficult moments in life maybe
[19:22]people will leave us maybe your friends will leave you maybe your
[19:26]family will leave you maybe everyone around you will close their door
[19:29]in your face but Allah subhana tala will never leave you the
[19:32]same way Allah never left ibraim we just have to have faith
[19:38]in Allah we just need to have that IM in Allah the
[19:41]Hadith says that when they were throwing ibraim in the fire the
[19:44]Angels Came to him the angels of the wind they come to
[19:49]him they tell him oh ibraim ask Allah to send the wind
[19:51]so that the wind will turn off the fire ibraim says no
[19:56]I don't need you I have God then the Ang angs of
[20:01]the rain come to him and tell him oh ibraim ask Allah
[20:03]to bring down the rain ibraim he says no I don't need
[20:07]you I have God then the Hadith says that the Angels they
[20:10]were they were losing it they told ibraim pray do Dua ask
[20:17]Allah to save you ibim he says he says God knows what's
[20:25]in my heart I don't even need to ask Allah subhah wa
[20:28]ta'ala knows what's in my heart and they threw him in the
[20:34]fire Allah commanded the fire which in its Essence a f fire
[20:38]is supposed to burn that fire Allah says oh fire be cool
[20:48]when Allah ordered the fire to be cold ibraim in the middle
[20:50]of the fire his teeth began to hit against one another he
[20:58]started shivering because the fire immediately obeyed God and then immediately and
[21:04]be peaceful then ibraim was chilling in the fire literally chilling so
[21:12]he was he was he was comfortable because Allah sub says and
[21:18]then ibim he walked out and he left he left where did
[21:22]he go he goes towards Jerusalem he left with his wife and
[21:34]he left with L his nephew Prophet Lu his nephew then Allah
[21:38]tested ibraim a series of more tests he became an old man
[21:43]he doesn't have a child at an old age Allah gives him
[21:46]a child then Allah commands ibraim to take this newborn baby this
[21:50]newborn is and hajar and to take them to a Barren land
[21:57]imagine you have to go in the middle of the desert and
[22:01]set up camp in the middle of the desert where there's no
[22:03]water there's no trees there's nothing but ibraim he knew that Allah
[22:10]is not going to leave him and this is how we Embrace
[22:12]life's trials we have to learn from ibraim we have to learn
[22:17]from our imams never question God and why is God doing this
[22:20]to me because there's always a solution as long as I have
[22:26]true faith in Allah there's always a solution and Allah says in
[22:29]the Quran an Allah says in the Quran Whoever has TA in
[22:40]God Allah subhah wa tala will create an exit out of every
[22:43]problem the whole world will come and tell you you have no
[22:48]support you have nothing Allah will create a door for you Allah
[22:51]will create a solution for you ibraim he takes his family his
[22:58]family were two people ha and is and he leaves them in
[23:01]this Barren land haer tells him oh is oh ibraim where are
[23:06]you leaving us he tells her Allah commanded me to do this
[23:09]Allah commanded me to do this and now I have to go
[23:15]back to Jerusalem he left her he left haar and a newborn
[23:19]baby in the middle of the desert she tells him oh ibraim
[23:27]you're leaving us she tells he tells her yes my God commanded
[23:29]me she said then I have faith Allah is not going to
[23:37]leave us ibraim left and suddenly this baby is he begins to
[23:40]cry and cry and cry there's no water there's nothing so ha
[23:46]she starts running between two Hills saf and Al these two Hills
[23:54]that Allah subhana says because this is where was built this is
[24:00]where monotheism was established anyone who goes to ha or does they
[24:15]have to run between these two mountains following in the footsteps of
[24:19]a slave lady haar was a concubine she was not even the
[24:26]wife of ibraim ibraim had his wife Sarah Sarah purchased hajar and
[24:31]hajar was a slave for Sarah then Sarah comes and tells tells
[24:38]ibraim oh ibraim I'm not able to have a child see if
[24:41]you could have a child with hajar and Allah gave ibraim a
[24:45]child with haar because Allah did not want to break the heart
[24:48]of Sarah Allah tells ibraim take hajar and the baby and go
[24:54]to Mecca so ibraim he left and the child is thirsty and
[25:02]hajar starts running between these two hills and she keeps going this
[25:05]way and this way and this way and this way and the
[25:06]baby is crying until the baby goes silent what kind of a
[25:13]test was this she see she thinks that her baby has died
[25:16]she comes and she sees the young is he's kicking his feet
[25:22]and beneath his feet there's a spring of water there's a spring
[25:25]of water she starts trying to collect the water and and she
[25:30]begins to say in her language stop stop what does she say
[25:34]she says Zam Zam Zam Zam and this was the beginning of
[25:43]Life in Mecca this spring of zamzam this well of zamzam was
[25:46]a miracle and until today the they go and they drink from
[25:52]zamzam and this brought life to Mecca because ibraim he says before
[25:57]that there was no water there were no trees when he left
[25:59]he says he says oh Allah I left my family in a
[26:21]Barren land that has no trees there's no life but oh Allah
[26:26]let the hearts of the people be gravitated to my project and
[26:30]give them from theat from the fruits and from the blessings so
[26:35]that they could thank you so this was the beginning of Life
[26:40]this was a huge test for the family of ibraim then ibraim
[26:43]comes back and he sees there's water and people have migrated here
[26:49]because people Nomads who were traveling in the area they saw there
[26:54]were birds flying over Mecca what are the birds doing there that
[26:57]means there's water so they went there and then they settled there
[27:03]and that was the beginning of communities that started settling in Mecca
[27:08]then ibraim becomes older and is becomes older then Allah subhanahu wa
[27:13]ta'ala tests ibraim with another more difficult test test and you see
[27:24]once again ibraim he Embraces life's trials and he deals with them
[27:27]this was one of of the most difficult tests that any person
[27:34]could be tested in their life and that was once is becomes
[27:38]a little bit older now he's the son that ibraim has been
[27:43]praying for he's the son that could help his father when his
[27:46]father becomes an older man but ibraim who's a prophet of God
[27:51]he sees in his dream that he is slaughtering his own son
[27:54]and ibraim is a prophet Shan does not come in the dreams
[28:02]of prophets so he comes to his son he tells him oh
[28:09]my dear son I saw in my dream that I'm slaughtering you
[28:15]I'm sacrificing you so tell me what do you say about this
[28:20]he tells him oh Allah do what God has commanded you to
[28:27]do don't let me be an obstacle in the way Allah is
[28:31]The Giver of Life and Allah is the one who takes life
[28:42]yeah do what you are asked to do inshallah you will find
[28:47]me from those who are patient and then ibraim he took his
[28:55]son to mina today tomorrow all of the the leaving they go
[29:00]to m in M they collect the stones and then in Min
[29:06]that was where the took place that was where ibraim took his
[29:10]son to slaughter his son ibraim is walking with his son and
[29:14]Shan comes in the way in the in the image of a
[29:18]man he comes to him and he tells him oh ibraim have
[29:21]you gotten mad what are you doing he tells him he tells
[29:27]him Allah Allah subhana wa tala has commanded me to do this
[29:30]I'm going to follow the orders of God he tells him you
[29:35]have gone mad ibraim he takes stones and he throws them at
[29:37]Shan he does he does this one time two times and a
[29:42]third time and this is why the they all have to Stone
[29:48]the shatan because ibraim passed that test and when we're stoning the
[29:54]shitan that doesn't mean we're actually literally hitting Shan it means that
[29:57]we're teaching ourselves that we should not always be on the defensive
[30:04]with Shan we should be on the offensive with Shan some of
[30:07]us we're always on the defensive always inshallah Shan doesn't fool me
[30:12]inshallah this doesn't happen to me let God protect me from this
[30:18]no Allah subhana tala is telling you to be on the offensive
[30:23]Shan is your enemy so consider him your enemy don't be friends
[30:30]with Shan don't let shatan come in your head don't let Shan
[30:32]come in your life and distract you from Allah subhana tala consider
[30:35]him an enemy and wage a war against Shan and when you're
[30:42]throwing the stones you are throwing these stones to remind yourself that
[30:46]this is my enemy this is my enemy the one who's bringing
[30:48]me away from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala today all of the they
[30:56]have to do that of course ibraim he tried to slaughter his
[30:59]son he was actually doing it but the knife would not cut
[31:04]the knife does not cut skin ibraim became very frustrated he threw
[31:08]the rock on the ground and it split a rock in half
[31:12]he SPL he he threw the the knife on the ground and
[31:16]it split a rock in half then ibraim knew something was going
[31:20]on he says what kind of a knife are you you cannot
[31:27]cut skin but you split a rock in half then the Hadith
[31:29]says that the knife spoke to him and the knife said he's
[31:41]commanding me to do something but forbids me from doing it and
[31:47]the knife did not cut then Allah subhah wa ta'ala brought down
[31:53]a Ram from the heaven Allah brought down a ram and ibraim
[31:59]slaughtered that and this became the tradition of all of the to
[32:05]make a sacrifice and even if you're not in it's on the
[32:11]day of to make a it could be in the each person
[32:16]has to make one if you're not in you could do it
[32:18]on behalf of your whole family several people could share one and
[32:23]this is a reminder that we have to make sacrifices for our
[32:26]religion let me ask myself this question have I made any sacrifices
[32:29]for my religion let every single one of us ask ourselves this
[32:33]question what sacrifice have I made some of us we just want
[32:40]to receive we're not willing to make a sacrifice this this sacrifice
[32:46]that the make this is symbolic that if I want a healthy
[32:49]relationship with God I need to be willing to make sacrifices the
[32:55]same way if you want a healthy relationship with anyone in your
[32:57]life a husband and a wife can you just be on the
[33:01]receiving end of a relationship the one who's always benefiting no you
[33:04]have to give back for the relationship to flourish and this is
[33:09]how our relationship with Allah subhah wa tala can get stronger after
[33:13]ibraim passed all of these tests then Allah subhah wa ta'ala tells
[33:18]him now ibraim now at an old age and is had become
[33:23]a little bit older Allah tells him now oh ibraim you have
[33:27]been privileged to build the Kaa The House of Allah Allah subhah
[33:35]wa taala gave ibraim the honor and ibim along with his son
[33:45]ibraim and is they were raising the foundations of the Kaa what
[33:51]does this mean this means that the Kaa had already found had
[33:54]foundations there ibraim was not the original builder of the Kaa who
[33:57]was the original builder of the Kaa Prophet Adam ibraim was raising
[34:07]the foundation and he finished the job of prophet Adam so the
[34:13]Hajj is also symbolic of life's trials and difficulties now I'm going
[34:18]to take a break while you guys could ask a question and
[34:22]if I could get some water something so that we could hear
[34:27]you out inshallah so M does anyone have any questions yes brother
[34:43]is there a reason why we cover the is there a reason
[34:49]why we cover the Kaa so the Kaa because it is it
[34:53]is a honored House of Allah subhah wa ta'ala it is the
[34:57]tradition of Muslims and even before Islam even before Islam there was
[35:01]always a tradition to put a drape thank you very much to
[35:05]always put a drape around the Kaa now is the drape necessarily
[35:08]always have to be black no there were times in history where
[35:14]the drapes were different colors but in the last several hundred years
[35:18]the drape of the Kaa has been black but that's not something
[35:22]that is waj but the Muslims and even before Islam it's become
[35:27]a tradition to always put a drape on the Kaa this is
[35:33]why in the previous years I've when I've gone to Haj on
[35:39]the day of on in the morning in the morning they change
[35:41]thear of the they Chang the drape of the Kaa and you
[35:46]could probably look this up on YouTube the way that they change
[35:48]it is that they don't let the Kaa be revealed they they
[35:53]drop the the top the the new one the new fabric they
[35:58]put it on top and then they drop the old one it
[35:58]falls so that the Kaa is always covered this is out of
[36:03]respect for the Kaa because the Kaa is not just like any
[36:05]building yes yes brother is that Haram to what yes sister I
[36:26]can't hear youum [Music] okay the question is how do we know
[36:57]when God is punishing us or when God is is testing us
[36:59]and there's a Hadith that says that if if the if what
[37:04]you're going through brings you further away from God then that means
[37:07]it's a punishment and yes this is true every test in life
[37:14]could either be uh um it could be a way that Allah
[37:17]subhana wa ta'ala is punishing someone disciplining someone or it could be
[37:21]Allah elevating the rank it all depends on our attitude and how
[37:27]we reciprocate that test that Allah subhana tala has given us so
[37:31]you might find two people two people they're tested one of them
[37:34]says alhamdulillah I'm going to be patient Allah is going to elevate
[37:40]the ranks of this person because this person passed the test but
[37:43]another person says why does God do this to me why is
[37:47]God not being fair this isum this is oppression I'm not going
[37:49]to believe I'm not going to pray anymore then this is a
[37:51]punishment because this person is coming further and further away from Allah
[37:55]subhah wa ta'ala so so it all depends on our attitude and
[38:01]how we Embrace life's test if we truly have Iman in Allah
[38:07]we should never complain to Allah subhana wa ta'ala but sometimes sometimes
[38:13]God is punishing us because there's AI from he says tests and
[38:23]trials for theim for the oppressor this is God disciplining this person
[38:32]but for the the same is it's a test from Allah and
[38:41]for the or for the for the for the prophets it's elevating
[38:46]the ranks putting them in the higher rank and for the aah
[38:53]of Allah who are even higher than the prophets this is K
[38:55]this is God's way of honoring them Allah test them like IM
[39:00]Hussein the the test that IM Hussein went through that was God's
[39:07]Ultimate Way of honoring IM Hussein because IM Hussein was tested but
[39:12]today IM Hussein is eternalized because of that test that he went
[39:15]through he's remembered more than even the other imams that did not
[39:17]go through that test that IM Hussein was tested you had your
[39:22]hands up something else yes this is also um a different angle
[39:42]of looking at things the way that God is is the way
[39:45]that you perceive God yes theith says where Allah says meaning if
[39:54]a m assumes the best in God then I will be the
[39:59]best with this person but if a m assumes that God just
[40:00]wants to punish them and God just wants to put this person
[40:04]in difficulty then that means you don't really believe in the mercy
[40:07]of God then you're going to miss out on the mercy of
[40:11]Allah because of the way that you're thinking of God because of
[40:13]your perception of God but if you have a perception that Allah
[40:17]is God is forgiving God is loving God is compassionate that means
[40:23]you're looking at the cup half full that means you're you're assuming
[40:27]the best in God imagine for example someone assumes that their mother
[40:30]just wants to hurt them that just wants to bother them just
[40:34]wants to abuse them that means you don't really love your mother
[40:37]that much to just think of her in that way but when
[40:41]you say no my mother I I would always assume that my
[40:43]mother would treat me in the best my mother is more compassionate
[40:48]she's loving you're you're investing in that relationship and this is what
[40:52]you will receive in return Yes brothers sisters yes brother I heard
[41:00]that dreams are very violent Islam like they usually have a meaning
[41:04]what I heard that dreams usually have a meaning in Islam Dreams
[41:09]yeah but how do we know like some like dreams are very
[41:11]specific to like a certain lesson so dreams sometimes they have a
[41:18]meaning and sometimes they are it's a a dream with a meaning
[41:23]and sometimes it's called sometimes it's just the dreams that most of
[41:28]us have you know the dreams that you wake up you can't
[41:32]even remember it and it has no meaning it doesn't make sense
[41:35]it's really difficult to tell when is what is what but uh
[41:42]for example it's the one that you see they say for example
[41:45]between F and and or at the time of f that's the
[41:50]time that you see it for example there's specific timings you're in
[41:53]W and then you sleep you see it then that might have
[41:57]a meaning or it's actually a dream that when you wake up
[42:00]you could actually make sense of it sometimes other times you can't
[42:05]make sense of it but generally speaking it's really hard to tell
[42:10]when a dream is what meanings it have and has and what
[42:13]meanings it doesn't have but my advice to people is one don't
[42:21]ask me about dreams second is um if you're ever worried or
[42:26]concerned about a dream anytime you wake up and you're concerned about
[42:30]a dream or what does this mean and I don't know how
[42:34]this is always when you're worried what do you do give s
[42:38]give s put a dollar in the Box put whatever it is
[42:44]that s if something bad was supposed to happen that sodak will
[42:48]repel it that sodak will stop it yes brother like so the
[43:03]question is is there um in the eyes of God does God
[43:08]see the Muslims the Believers differently for example if someone worships God
[43:14]because of fear or sometimes someone worships God because of love yes
[43:21]the of he says the worship is of three types there's the
[43:23]worship of the slave there's the worship of the merchant and there's
[43:26]the the worship of the free man the slave worships God because
[43:32]they're afraid of the Hellfire they're afraid of being punished the the
[43:36]the worship of the merchant is the one who worships God because
[43:38]they want to go to heaven but the worship of the free
[43:42]man is the one who sees God is worthy of being worshiped
[43:45]and therefore worships God and that is the highest level yes this
[43:53]is why he himself he says oh Allah I did not worship
[44:05]you out of fear of the Hellfire and the and and wanting
[44:08]Jenna but I saw that you are worthy of being worshiped that's
[44:12]why I wor worshiped you sisters it seems that the s'mores have
[44:20]not kicked in yet you guys need to eat some more so
[44:25]that the you get energized yes sister I to remember it's okay
[44:33]okay yes brother no well you will definitely get a reward even
[44:52]the one who worships God because God is worthy of being worshiped
[44:55]they will get a reward but what is their approach towards worship
[45:00]what is their mentality what are they thinking when they are getting
[45:07]up to pray it's F time you're tired you're you don't want
[45:09]to get up and you're contemplating the the alarm is ringing and
[45:12]you're contemplating should I get up should I not get up some
[45:16]people they're like I don't want to go to Hellfire I'm getting
[45:18]up another person says all of that I'm going to get up
[45:22]it's worth it and then a third person says let me disturb
[45:27]my sleep God is worthy of being spoken to right now so
[45:30]it's three different three different types of thinking all of them will
[45:37]be rewarded all of them will be rewarded but your attitude what
[45:41]is your attitude and there's nothing wrong with being with worshiping because
[45:44]you're afraid of the Hellfire there's nothing wrong with that that's actually
[45:48]good but there's a step higher and if you are at this
[45:53]level work to become at the higher level and work at to
[45:55]become at the highest level and there's nothing wrong with having that
[45:58]we all have to have fear of Allah subhana tala we all
[46:01]should want jna that's why the Quran talks about heaven and hell
[46:06]in the Quran yes so the question is are you done with
[46:22]it yeah the question is is Haj from a financial stand Point
[46:28]uh does it become wag as soon as you could afford it
[46:32]or could you spend your money on other things like Z and
[46:35]other things here and there becomes W when a person has capability
[46:42]Financial capability physical capability there's no visa restrictions there's no um passport
[46:48]restrictions there's no covid restrictions if there's no restrictions whatsoever then Hajj
[46:56]becomes waj sometimes maybe I might have the money but I don't
[47:00]have the health to go to Hajj Hajj is not W upon
[47:04]me sometimes I might have the money and I have the health
[47:06]to go to Hajj but I'm not I applied to get a
[47:09]visa and they're not giving me a Visa or there's covid restrictions
[47:11]there's some type of I don't have a passport right now so
[47:17]here there's several things that have to take place for you to
[47:23]become Allah says in the Quran men is upon the person who
[47:34]has capability so if you have all of the checks meaning I
[47:37]don't have any physical uh issue I don't have any passport issue
[47:43]I don't have any Visa issue and that means I have to
[47:45]apply even maybe they're only for example giving 3,000 visas to America
[47:52]I need to apply if I have the money I have all
[47:54]of that but say for example I have the money but I
[47:57]have to pay my mortgage it's either paying the mortgage or paying
[48:00]the Hajj and if I don't pay the mortgage then my house
[48:03]is going to for example I'm not I'm going to miss a
[48:06]payment here HJ is not W so once you secure your payment
[48:11]once you secure your basic needs of life for example you have
[48:15]a car you you have a living space you don't need to
[48:21]necessarily have a house you could be living in rent if that's
[48:23]there's nothing wrong with that you're living comfortably you have food you
[48:27]have drink you've taken care of your family you fulfilled your responsibility
[48:30]to your wife to your children to other people then Hajj becomes
[48:35]waj so once Hajj becomes waj then you have to apply to
[48:39]go to Hajj and it will remain waj even if you lost
[48:43]that capability say for example last year I had money I there
[48:46]were no restrictions I was able to go and I chose not
[48:50]to go this year I don't have the money anymore Haj is
[48:54]still waj on me because it became waj you were able to
[48:56]go and you missed it so now you Haj has become waj
[49:01]on you but if for example Hajj never became waj on you
[49:05]maybe you had the money but there were other restrictions you tried
[49:10]to apply and you didn't get the visa so now you could
[49:12]use that money to go to Zar for example because it wasn't
[49:17]W yes or you could use it to go somewhere else yes
[49:22]brother Z Hussein is must but it's not w like thej is
[49:29]Allah says it in the Quran IM Hussein we have many narrations
[49:37]that tell that the imams they say they tell people go to
[49:45]visit and they even say every believer and IM Hussein but um
[49:49]sometimes you could visit IM Hussein from far away meaning you couldn't
[49:56]go you could do the Zara from far away so if if
[49:57]if it comes to either I go to Hajj or I go
[50:00]to Zar and I don't have any roadblocks I don't have anything
[50:04]that blocks me from going to ha is w z maybe it's
[50:08]more rewarding we have we hear a lot of narrations that the
[50:13]Zara is worth multiple and all of that but the is waj
[50:16]that's like someone saying let me pray and not pray is Sal
[50:23]is more rewarding probably but Sal is W you need to do
[50:28]it so you need to get the waj out of the way
[50:31]then once you've gone to Hajj once then you could go to
[50:33]Zara for as much as you want but we have many narrations
[50:38]that talk about the reward of Hajj some people they say I
[50:41]always hear people saying this they say I'm going to give s
[50:45]why should I go to Haj people used to say this during
[50:47]the time of the Prophet there was a mountain there was a
[50:52]huge mountain overlooking the Kaa by the name of jabal Abu this
[50:55]mountain the Saudi government in the last I don't know couple decades
[50:59]they came and they destroyed the whole mountain and they built a
[51:04]palace for the King on it this mountain Abu the prophet used
[51:07]to always point to it and give examples about it in oneith
[51:13]he says if a person givs Sak in gold as much as
[51:20]the mountain of Abu they give it to the poor they will
[51:22]not reach the theab of the Hajj meaning the Hajj is very
[51:29]rewarding ha is Hajj teaches you it disciplines you it teaches you
[51:33]to have that submission to Allah subhana it teaches you that sense
[51:37]of to be a Ab of God we don't really know what
[51:42]it means to be AB of God until you are walking between
[51:46]saf and Mar until you are doing ta around the Kaa until
[51:48]you have to go and carry stones and throw them on a
[51:51]build on a wall or something people are like why am I
[51:53]doing this because I'm the ABD of God because God commanded me
[51:57]to do this and did this and the IMs of the AL
[52:01]they all did this Hajj is great we should not underestimate the
[52:03]Haj because of political reasons some people underestimate the Hajj no Haj
[52:09]is waj if it's waj on you you have to go two
[52:14]more questions okay sister one sister here and one sister there go
[52:17]ahead alikum on yes so if a person passes away they take
[52:34]from their from from their assets that they have left before it's
[52:38]divided amongst the inheritance they take a portion and someone has to
[52:42]go to ha on behalf of that person but if a person
[52:48]a person should write in their will if they have not gone
[52:51]to Hajj if Hajj has become waj on them at one point
[52:55]in their life they should write in their will or maybe for
[52:57]example became on me but now there's restrictions I can't go I
[53:03]have to send money even the only act that you could do
[53:05]during your life you could send someone like right now for example
[53:10]no one could come and pray on behalf of another person who's
[53:13]living no one could fast on behalf of another person who's who's
[53:16]living once they die yes you could pray on their behalf you
[53:21]could fast on their behalf but can be done while another person
[53:25]is alive but that's if they were unable to go if they
[53:30]were unable to go then they have to send someone they have
[53:33]to pay that money to send someone to go and do the
[53:36]Hajj on their behalf and the theab is not like the one
[53:38]who actually goes because there's a lot of lessons that are taught
[53:40]in the Hajj yes sister is it haram to read the fat
[53:50]upon someone that passed away that is not Muslim we don't read
[53:54]fat for non-muslims why because they don't believe in the Quran what's
[53:58]the fat going to do to them if a person was not
[54:04]a mush not an idol worshiper not a polytheist you could say
[54:07]oh Allah have mercy on this person because they believed in God
[54:11]they if if a person believed in God we're say we're assuming
[54:14]not an atheist who doesn't even believe in God but if someone
[54:19]who's a mush someone who's a polytheist or someone who doesn't even
[54:25]acknowledge God even saying Allah is we cannot say Allah and Allah
[54:31]tells ibraim to not say and even tells that even if you
[54:38]do for Allah will not accept it because they did not even
[54:41]acknowledge God they did not even acknowledge that relationship with God but
[54:45]we could say we could say oh Allah guide this person if
[54:50]they're while they're living oh oh Allah guide them oh Allah show
[54:53]them the way you could do that but say oh Allah have
[54:57]Mercy on a cfir have mercy on a person who did not
[54:59]even acknowledge God then that means that means I'm asking God to
[55:06]do something that's unethical meaning someone who did not even acknowledge God
[55:08]I'm saying God show respect to this person I'm I'm not following
[55:14]the standards that Allah subhana tala has given me to follow if
[55:24]they passed away or they are still alive if they passed away
[55:29]you could say oh Allah treat them with your Justice oh Allah
[55:34]if they were monoy is you could say oh Allah forgive this
[55:37]person oh Allah treat this person with your compassion but to say
[55:43]if someone is a mush we don't say oh Allah forgive this
[55:45]person this is in the Quran I know it sounds a little
[55:49]bit like why are we doing that that's not cool but the
[55:51]Quran actually says that that's why yes okay okay sister go ahead
[56:07]sister I just heard what I'll I'll try to hear okay so
[56:20]there's a difference between someone who actively rejected the religion and someone
[56:27]who is not sure but for how long is a person unsure
[56:33]you know we right now when we want to make decisions in
[56:35]our life and Allah subhana has given us all the the power
[56:41]of reason the power of making decisions in life if a person
[56:44]truly had misconceptions then Allah is going to treat this person with
[56:47]his Mercy Allah is going to treat this person based on what
[56:53]they know because God knows what's in every person's heart but some
[56:58]people they are too lazy to find the truth some people they
[57:01]don't want to burden themselves they don't want to come and trouble
[57:05]themselves to go and read a book to go and ask some
[57:09]questions and find the truth that's the problem with most of the
[57:12]people the people who are actively pursuing the truth God will guide
[57:15]them to the truth because Allah says in the Quran those who
[57:24]strive for the go cause of God they will reach it they
[57:29]will reach their goal but the majority of the people they're not
[57:32]pursuing God they're pursuing dya and the pleasures of this Dunya and
[57:35]they die far away from Allah subhah wa tala okay inshallah we
[57:43]will end here we ask Allah subhana to bless you all and
[58:14]for those of you who are celebrating tomorrow muak to you for
[58:20]those of you who are not celebrating Aid tomorrow the day OFA
[58:24]is also according to our narrations it's theid the time to do
[58:30]Dua the time to pray the time to supplicate today I read
[58:34]the Dua and tomorrow I'm going to read it Dua tomorrow if
[58:38]the if it's the day of for you make sure you read
[58:42]Dua of IM husin on the day OFA and make sure you
[58:47]recite the Zar of IM Hussein on the day OFA and to
[58:50]all of you
