[0:05]I began in the name of the almighty god the compassionate the

[0:15]merciful distinguished guests respected brothers and sisters I greet you with the

[0:19]greeting of Islam assalamu alaykum peace be with you my friend over

[0:27]the past few years as llama phobia has been on the rise

[0:31]the fear of Muslims and Islam the fear from Islamic extremism and

[0:41]Islamic radicalism has been amongst the primary fears of many non-muslims especially

[0:49]in the West and the recent heinous attacks that happened in Orlando

[0:55]Florida they will only exacerbate the situation now yes maybe that criminal

[1:03]he claimed to be a Muslim yes maybe he claimed to perform

[1:06]his evil crime in the name of Islam but I tell you

[1:12]one thing is for sure that his actions were unequivocally Una's la

[1:17]m'q they were at complete odds with the teachings of Islam because

[1:24]you see not everyone that claims to be a good practicing Muslim

[1:28]is indeed a true practicing Muslim because a true practicing Muslim is

[1:36]the one whose actions reflect the teachings of the religion and that's

[1:42]why when we come to the teachings of this religion we find

[1:46]there is a huge gap we find so much conflict between what

[1:53]these individuals do and between the true genuine teachings of Islam for

[1:58]example when we come to the holy quran the holy book of

[2:00]god in islam we see that in one verse allah subhanho wa

[2:08]taala god says that whoever kills one innocent soul one innocent being

[2:14]whoever kills one soul unjustly then it it is as if that

[2:22]person has killed all of humanity and you see the inclusiveness of

[2:26]Islam the the Quran doesn't say whoever kills a Muslim the Quran

[2:31]says whoever kills a soul a human being it doesn't matter what

[2:36]his faith is whoever killed one individual it's as if he has

[2:40]killed all of humanity and that's why in Islam there is nothing

[2:43]more sacred than a human soul this shows that the sanctity of

[2:51]life in Islam is a core theological and ethical principle and likewise

[2:58]in another verse the Quran says the holy book says that a

[3:06]few Muslims ever disagree with other individuals if you do not agree

[3:10]with other people because of their faith because of their political views

[3:16]social views whatever the Quran clearly says that violence is never a

[3:21]solution do not try to solve your differences through violence the holy

[3:26]quran says use three things three things to solve your differences the

[4:54]automatically that you know qualifies you to be a spokesperson for Islam

[4:57]the Holy Prophet says wait a minute let me define who a

[5:01]true Muslim is this person should be the spokesperson for Islam and

[5:04]this is a hadith a tradition that all Muslims narrate he said

[5:10]in that tradition and Muslim men seldom and men sell him an

[5:14]ass many ad he woloson many Muslims have memorized it he said

[5:19]a true Muslim I wish this definition would be placed in the

[5:22]dictionaries and I wish you know all non-muslims would hear about this

[5:26]don't automatically assume this is a practicing true Muslim no listen to

[5:30]what the Prophet said he's the leader of our faith he has

[5:34]he's the one that has the authority to define who a true

[5:37]Muslim is so he says the definition of a Muslim is the

[5:44]one who the people in the society do not have fear from

[5:48]him he is the one who people do not fear being abused

[5:51]physically or verbally by him so basically a Muslim is a peaceful

[5:57]person he's a person that you should feel safe being around and

[6:00]how ironic is it today that the most feared individuals in the

[6:04]world today are Muslims are they truly truly Muslims the Prophet says

[6:08]that a Muslim is a person where you feel safe being around

[6:11]and once again he doesn't say Muslims feel safe being around them

[6:15]he says all individuals whether you're a Muslim a Christian or Jew

[6:20]you know a Hindu or whether you're an atheist or agnostic or

[6:23]you have no religion at all a Muslim is a person that

[6:27]you feel safe around so based on these collective teachings of Islam

[6:33]we obviously see that the actions of these terrorists they are at

[6:39]with Islam and these people did not represent the religion of Islam

[6:46]I read an article a few months ago and one of the

[6:48]the US newspapers it said that 30% of Americans they believe that

[6:57]Isis does indeed represent Islam this is the true genuine Islam in

[7:01]its purest form this is what the survey the study mentioned 30

[7:04]percent of Americans by the way who most probably are supporters of

[7:10]Trump you know that says that says enough about them now what

[7:15]do i what I have to say to those individuals and to

[7:24]whoever any individual that shares this belief to that Isis is the

[7:28]true Islam were afraid to say it I have to say two

[7:32]things up to these to these individuals the first point is that

[7:36]once you study the lives of these individuals that join Isis that

[7:40]support Isis that fight for Isis you will find that number one

[7:47]they are completely uneducated about Islam absolutely no education about us now

[7:50]number two they are absolutely not practicing Islam and number three you'll

[7:57]find usually they are out cat they were outcasts in their society

[8:04]so they couldn't fit in in the society they had hatred in

[8:07]their hearts and some of them they had you know mental problems

[8:14]and what these individuals do is that they use the religion of

[8:18]Islam as a cover-up to justify their evil actions it's as simple

[8:21]as that you want to commit a crime you don't want to

[8:26]be blamed for it you want to be looked as a hero

[8:29]for doing that crime through it so don't blame it on Islam

[8:31]say I did this because of Islam this has become the trend

[8:36]today and you know when I say this I don't just say

[8:38]this out of belief or because I am a Muslim I'll bring

[8:43]you the proof I'll mention four stories for you to prove what

[8:46]I'm saying number one a few maybe a year ago I read

[8:51]an article on the internet and of the British newspapers it said

[8:57]that the British authorities they arrested two young Muslim men they were

[9:02]trying to leave the UK and they're trying to go to Syria

[9:05]to join Isis so they arrested them they had some information that

[9:11]they were going to be arrested them and they did some investigations

[9:14]and what they found out is that these individuals they had bought

[9:17]two books from Amazon before going now you would think these people

[9:21]that are fighting for Isis are scholars they've studied Islam they know

[9:26]what they're doing yes do you know what two books they bought

[9:31]from Amazon the Holy Quran for dummies and Islam for dummies I'm

[9:36]serious you see what types of dummies are representing Islam they have

[9:43]no clue what Islam is they are not educated about Islam they're

[9:47]a bunch of thugs they are like I said outcasts they can't

[9:50]fin the society they probably want to commit suicide they're told come

[9:56]Syria Iraq here you'll have free woman as slaves for you you

[9:58]could be an amel you know you could be a governor every

[10:02]person will get a small town to lead and you could what

[10:04]you'll have guns and you can kill and if you die you'll

[10:08]go to heaven you know it's such a pleasing you know offer

[10:15]why would such a person refuse it so these people are completely

[10:19]uneducated about their religion that's number one the other incident is if

[10:23]you remember in November the Paris terrorist attacks one week after after

[10:30]the Paris attacks as the French police were raiding one of the

[10:33]suburbs of Paris because they had suspected some of the linked terrorists

[10:37]were there there was a female that a suicide bomber that blew

[10:44]herself up by the name of has nah iets Wilkinson you could

[10:47]google her now when she blew herself up all over the media

[10:51]this is a jihadist that blew herself up she was a radicalized

[10:56]Muslim that blew herself up and then they did some interviews with

[11:00]some her some of her family members and friends and the information

[11:04]that was revealed her own brother said look I never saw her

[11:09]open the Holy Quran the book of Islam I never ever saw

[11:14]her carry at once in her life completely uneducated and even her

[11:18]neighbor said that she used to be every night she goes to

[11:24]clubs she drinks and she has many boyfriends this is the exact

[11:28]words of her brother all all of which a practising Muslim should

[11:31]not do a practicing Muslim should not drink alcohol should not you

[11:36]know she should not have boyfriends many boyfriends but this shows you

[11:41]that such a woman which is not practicing at all becomes all

[11:44]of a sudden a spokesman for answer for the religion of Islam

[11:49]and she's a jihadist and she's a radicalized Muslim so it's absolutely

[11:53]not that this is the second story the third story many of

[11:56]you may have heard in the news earlier this year there was

[11:59]a member of Isis in Syria that executed his own mother publicly

[12:09]in front of everyone why his own mother why because his mother

[12:13]has reported his mother tried to talk him out of joining Isis

[12:17]she tried to convince him to leave Isis what was her punishment

[12:22]that he executed her brutally in front of everyone his own mother

[12:26]such a person as a Muslim look at the holy quran as

[12:30]a practicing muslim the holy quran speaks so highly of the mother

[12:34]that the holy quran says do not even say off to your

[12:36]parents off is the least sign of dissatisfaction you know your parents

[12:41]sometimes the mother the father they say do the chores do the

[12:45]laundry you say it's like you're not happy you don't want to

[12:47]that's the least sign of dissatisfaction the Quran says do not even

[12:51]do that this is your mother have respect for her and the

[12:56]famous tradition of the prophet of our prophet says that heaven that

[12:59]we all want to go but not through of course suicide bombings

[13:03]please heaven is beneath the legs and the feet of your mother

[13:10]meaning that if you want to go to heaven you have to

[13:14]get through your mother first your mother has to be happy with

[13:16]you pleased with you this on one hand and you have a

[13:22]person that claims to be what that claims to be a practicing

[13:24]Muslim a member of Isis that kills his own mother and finally

[13:28]number four the past incident that happened last week in Florida now

[13:35]initially all over the news especially you know some of the biased

[13:39]news I always give the example in the US of Fox News

[13:41]the most bias you know channel and anti-muslim channel and probably the

[13:46]world right away this is what this was an act of extremism

[13:53]rat a radical Muslim he was motivated by his faith and because

[13:56]this is how they put it because Islam is against homosexuals he

[14:02]went and he killed those individuals this was the initial accusation but

[14:06]as I don't know if you've been following the news but as

[14:09]they investigated they realized that this individual himself was a homosexual he

[14:15]had gone to that nightclub on numerous occasions where he would by

[14:20]the way get very drunk also not practicing Muslim he used to

[14:23]use gay dating apps and I even run into an article one

[14:26]of his friends said a few years ago his father realized he

[14:29]discovered that his son was gay and he had a big fight

[14:33]with a son that he considered this you know immoral and unacceptable

[14:36]in his family so was it an act of Islamic violence Islamic

[14:42]extremism or was it just a repressed gay man that wanted to

[14:48]what blame blame the you know his crime he wanted to basically

[14:52]use the religion of Islam as a pretext to go about his

[14:58]crime the point that I'm trying to tell you my friend is

[15:00]that these individuals these extremists they have hijacked our religion they know

[15:07]nothing about Islam they're uneducated on practicing and they use Islam as

[15:12]a pretext to justify their evil actions so this is the first

[15:19]point and the second point that I have to say to anyone

[15:22]that believes that these extremists they represent Islam that they are truly

[15:28]practicing Muslims the second point that I have to say is that

[15:31]do you know that Isis has killed much much more Muslims than

[15:39]non-muslims they've probably killed a thousand times more Muslims than non-muslims so

[15:45]far just ten days ago in my hometown in the country of

[15:47]Iraq in my home town kara Bella there was a there was

[15:52]a bomb an explosion that was done by Isis that one of

[15:55]the son of one of my close friends was killed in it

[15:59]and it was done by Isis and every day in Iraq every

[16:03]day 50 to 100 people are killed at the hands of Isis

[16:06]but unfortunately that never makes it to the headlines because either were

[16:12]desensitized or it doesn't matter to us so Isis has killed more

[16:17]Muslims than non-muslims and then they claim to represent us now the

[16:23]majority of us Muslims we reject these extremists but unfortunately we have

[16:29]been a silent majority we have allowed the small minority less than

[16:34]I would say 0.0 percent of Muslims we have allowed them this

[16:38]minority to speak on our behalf because we have been a silent

[16:45]majority and that's why tonight my call to all of us here

[16:47]is two things number one to us the Muslims is that we

[16:53]have to recognize and acknowledge that the values that we hold as

[16:58]Muslims are values that we have to express now more than ever

[17:03]we can no longer afford on just going about our lives and

[17:07]being a silent majority we have to express our values and make

[17:15]them heard we have to be loud and bold about our values

[17:18]so that these extremists do not speak on our behalf and the

[17:25]only way to do that is to raise our volume is to

[17:27]raise our our voices to the same i volume and pitch as

[17:34]the loud voices of the extremists these extremists are trying their best

[17:40]to show that Islam is incompatible with the West that Islam is

[17:45]at war with the West and that you know every citizen of

[17:49]the West is an enemy to all Muslims they are trying relentlessly

[17:53]to do that it is our job we Muslims by expressing our

[17:58]values our true values it is our job to to expose their

[18:04]plot to foil their plot and to show that this is what

[18:06]this is not true for anyone here for all of you here

[18:13]all Muslims here who are Muslim Canadians you have to express your

[18:18]love for your land for Canada Canada is your home Canada is

[18:25]your abode you have to express that the opportunities and the blessings

[18:29]that you saw here in Canada you did not find in your

[18:31]own country there also I did many of us leave our countries

[18:35]why don't I go back and live in about why don't some

[18:38]of you go back to for example Saudi Arabia or to Iran

[18:41]or Afghanistan because the education the wealth the health the religious freedom

[18:46]that's offered here is not matched that's not given over there and

[18:50]the tradition of one of our Imams one of the successors of

[18:56]our prophet he says in the tradition whoever he who does not

[19:00]thank the created has not thanked the Creator if you don't thank

[19:04]human beings you haven't thanked God you want to thank God for

[19:09]his blessings begin by thanking human beings that have helped you and

[19:12]we thank this society we thank the Canadian Society by contributing positive

[19:18]positively in any way that we can this is number one and

[19:22]number two this is to all of us but specifically to our

[19:29]respectful officials if we are truly sincere about putting an end to

[19:33]these extremists if we truly want to defeat Isis then we have

[19:38]to put pressure on those groups those petrodollar governments that we all

[19:45]know who some are our allies that are breeding and supporting that

[19:51]extremist ideology because no matter how many airstrikes you conduct no matter

[19:55]how many of those terrorists you kill as long as their ideology

[19:59]is alive you can never defeat them because they will continue and

[20:03]continue to produce new terrorists you gotta put it you gotta stop

[20:08]the factory and the only way to do that is to put

[20:14]pressure on those that supports this evil ideology and we know exactly

[20:17]who supports that thank you very much brothers and sisters it was
