[2:40]alone Allah means allah muhammad wa ali muhammad rasool allah continuing with
[2:51]our discussion about the story of the lane we said that he
[2:59]went on to his first journey there are three journeys that the
[3:03]Quran speaks about that the logname went through first as his journey
[3:08]to Far West and we said that he went as far west
[3:15]as maybe the edge of Africa possibly because the Quran gives us
[3:19]a description where he saw the Sun as if it is setting
[3:24]in the water and so he went as far west maybe as
[3:29]Africa so maybe he's looking over the Atlantic Ocean what we call
[3:33]today the Atlantic Ocean and he saw the Sun as if it
[3:36]is setting in the water there's no more land there he saw
[3:40]groups of people living there but apparently there were the oppressors and
[3:45]there were those who were oppressed the oppressors apparently were the ones
[3:50]who were in control and he dealt with that situation where he
[3:55]managed to save help protect those who were oppressed and last night
[4:04]we said there are many things to be learned from this story
[4:07]alone that we have been discussing over the past few nights first
[4:10]of all we said that whenever we see injustice we cannot just
[4:16]keep quiet about it we need to speak against injustice regardless of
[4:21]who the oppressed is that's one thing which is important otherwise rights
[4:30]of people will be violated unfortunately over the last week even less
[4:39]than a week there have been two attacks on Muslims at mosques
[4:45]we're unfortunately here in this country in Sterling Virginia a young lady
[4:56]was killed and unfortunately you don't hear much about it in the
[5:00]news unless you have to search for it you dig up for
[5:05]it that's when you will find it and she was just leaving
[5:07]the mosque after the prayers when she was attacked and unfortunately her
[5:12]body went missing and she was discovered a day later may Allah
[5:17]have mercy on her soul and in another country in the United
[5:23]Kingdom there was another attack on a group of worshipers outside of
[5:27]a mosque where a person drove his car into them and again
[5:33]a person was killed and several others were injured again you don't
[5:38]hear much about that and then use either and the interesting thing
[5:43]is when people talk about that when you read the newspapers the
[5:48]incident that happened in the UK they say that a white van
[5:57]driver who ran into these people you don't see much the word
[6:01]terrorist being mentioned here however if it were the opposite then you
[6:11]would find terrorism all over the place and that's something important we
[6:16]have to educate people brothers and sisters that terrorism does not belong
[6:23]to any nationality and if we don't start spreading love if we
[6:30]do not stand united against hate speech then we all become victims
[6:37]of terrorism including including those who are committing these crimes they are
[6:47]also victims of terrorism because they've been brainwashed so even those guys
[6:53]are even victims but unfortunately they carry out these atrocious acts against
[6:59]innocence so we need to stand united here you know let me
[7:04]tell you something I'm not sure how many of you are familiar
[7:06]with it about a couple months ago a person went inside a
[7:12]mosque in québec in Canada and he shot and killed six people
[7:16]inside the messages while they were praying and several others were injured
[7:20]that incident couple months ago is considered in Canada to be the
[7:27]largest mass shooting ever committed at a religious institution in the history
[7:33]of Canada and it was done against Muslims not by Muslims against
[7:39]Muslims while they're praying inside a mosque by somebody who unfortunately has
[7:43]been brainwashed fed all this hate propaganda hate speech which again unfortunately
[7:51]out of ignorance goes inside a message it and upside a mosque
[7:54]and commits this act of terrorism so you see we're all victims
[8:02]of terrorism that's why we need to stand united against it and
[8:06]we need to speak against it we need to educate people that
[8:10]hate has no religion terrorism does not belong to any religion but
[8:17]rather we need to spread love we need to spread justice we
[8:20]need to work together in solidarity in unity and that's why I
[8:23]really encourage these acts where the believers the mean and the mean
[8:35]are brothers and sisters from different faiths they get together and they
[8:42]start working together on different venues different activities different actions all these
[8:48]things are great because we all at the end of the day
[8:53]are Americans we're all like Canadians were all belong to this country
[8:56]and we love this country and we want to defend it and
[9:01]wish the best for it so we need to stand together but
[9:03]unfortunately when you have individuals especially in high-ranking authorities leaders who start
[9:13]spreading hate unfortunately out of ignorance that only adds fuel to the
[9:19]fire and that's why it's important for us to always speak against
[9:24]oppression and stand up for justice that's one of the lessons we
[9:31]learn here from the story of the nine we also mentioned that
[9:34]it is important to learn never ever to oppress anyone always to
[9:39]be kind in addition we learned that injustice always comes to an
[9:49]end we've seen it throughout history and justice will always prevail even
[9:55]if it might take centuries but it will prevail in addition to
[10:00]all this we said we need to also appreciate our religion realize
[10:08]how important it is and how great it is so these were
[10:11]some of the lessons that we learned from his first journey I'll
[10:14]mention one more lesson that's important from his first journey and then
[10:20]inshallah we'll move on to his second journey towards the end of
[10:26]these verses that talk about the long names first journey so he
[10:29]met two groups of people that oppressors and those who were oppressed
[10:32]allah subhana wa ta'ala told him the canaan it's up to you
[10:38]whatever you wish to do you want to punish you want to
[10:43]forgive whatever you want to do go ahead we give you the
[10:45]permission so the nine then get says all right in that case
[10:50]those who are the oppressors those are non-believers those who are fighting
[10:54]against others oppressing them taking their rights we will punish those people
[11:01]we're going to punish them our punishment however is a minor punishment
[11:08]in a relationship to what Allah subhana WA Ta'ala has prepared for
[11:16]them in the hereafter Allah says as per the Cal 9 Allah
[11:19]Aman Vallum the sofa Navi boohoo so mayor Dewey Larabee for your
[11:29]the boho other than okra we will punish those who are oppressors
[11:32]but then they will go back to their Lord then he will
[11:40]punish them a severe punishment and that's something important brothers and sisters
[11:42]a few years ago when I was doing my PhD a colleague
[11:48]of mine who claims that he does not believe in anything him
[11:55]and I were having a conversation and interestingly he was just talking
[12:00]you know I wasn't really much saying much at the time he
[12:04]said you know it is sad that's what that's the word he
[12:12]used sad it's sad to think that's once we die then everything
[12:14]is over life is over and everything is just over you know
[12:21]it's just sad to think like this so I turned to him
[12:23]and I told him well it doesn't have to be sad if
[12:26]we believe that there is life after death then that journey continues
[12:30]then it's not so sad like yeah but whatever you know that
[12:36]that was the end of the discussion here so it's quite interesting
[12:38]to see how people who do not believe in the Aqaba someone
[12:43]who actually is a graduate student he was a graduate student at
[12:45]the time and he does not believe in the hereafter to him
[12:52]he thinks it's it's sad that life ends with death that's it
[12:54]so we believe that of course death is the beginning of a
[13:03]new life a new chapter of our journey and that is something
[13:08]extremely important I said thank you that is something extremely important because
[13:16]as believers we sometimes get asked people ask us they say how
[13:23]is it that you have some people who are believers good people
[13:30]they experience so many problems in life and you have others for
[13:35]non-believers such a smooth ride they have such a nice life we
[13:38]say first of all those who are non-believers they may appear on
[13:47]the outside having a nice life but deep inside they feel vacuum
[13:52]they don't feel very happy it is the belief in Allah subhana
[13:55]WA Ta'ala that brings joy to the people because there's a vacuum
[14:02]that needs to be filled the human being has the physical side
[14:06]and the materialistic site and the spiritualistic side those people who only
[14:11]look at this world they only look at the physical side they
[14:14]don't look at the spiritual aspect and so their spiritual side remains
[14:23]empty and then second of all we say that in this dunya
[14:26]in this world they might experience a tough time but once they
[14:34]go back in the hereafter that's when they will be rewarded and
[14:38]hence Quran teaches us whenever we experience a problem what does Quran
[14:42]teach us to say whenever you have a problem not stuff for
[14:47]Allah is one thing but what else or an tells us teach
[14:49]us to say something else alladhina either asaba thomas eva conlou what
[14:59]ni lillahi wa inna ilayhi watch o those who one day experienced
[15:04]a problem they say to God we belong and to him we
[15:12]shall return to God we belong you know what we try our
[15:15]best we do our best but then we leave the rest up
[15:20]to Allah Allah Allah what else can I do I try my
[15:24]best doesn't mean I sit back and just do nothing and say
[15:27]Ya Allah you know Allah will take care of us no I
[15:31]try my best but I leave the rest of to Allah subhana
[15:33]WA Ta'ala Anala and what else no matter how many problems I
[15:39]faced in this world am I going to last here am I
[15:41]gonna live here forever No so never later we're gonna leave this
[15:45]world what in I'll a he ah Joe Thomas so we don't
[15:52]need to worry that is something important they believe in the hereafter
[15:57]is the belief where the final justice absolute justice will be served
[16:01]for example you may have a dictator in this world who may
[16:08]be responsible for the death of millions of people in this world
[16:14]that dictator might lose he may be killed as we have seen
[16:21]in the past century with some dictators but even if he gets
[16:24]killed even if he lost well maybe he suffers the humiliation in
[16:27]dunya but is that it I mean this person killed maybe millions
[16:33]of people he was responsible for their death so that's it the
[16:37]minute he dies it's over we say no when he dies in
[16:42]the Hereafter that's when justice will be served at the time of
[16:48]hell Imam Sajjad alehissalaam there was a man who was a tyrant
[16:53]leader by the name of Al had judge opinions of a toughy
[17:00]a judge was a terrible man he was the governor of he
[17:04]became the governor of Hejaz which is today's Saudi Arabia and the
[17:09]governor of Iraq so he became the governor of this how this
[17:13]entire region and he was a ruthless man very ruthless one day
[17:20]he captures one of the Companions of Imam Musa Dagh dahlias Salam
[17:24]a good man by the name of Syed even Jubei Saeed even
[17:27]jubail he captures him he brings him after he was captured they
[17:35]put him in Chains they bring him before a judge and the
[17:39]Hajj Amin Yusuf asks him it's a Saeed you know I'm going
[17:45]to be quite democratic with you well how so I'm gonna get
[17:49]you to choose which way you would like me to kill you
[17:55]I'll give you that choice Saeed looked at him and he said
[17:59]well how about that which way would you like Allah to kill
[18:06]you and the hereafter that's the same way you can choose to
[18:12]kill me in other words you kill me now whatever way you
[18:14]kill me a loss of Hinata Allah will punish you with that
[18:20]same death but in the hereafter column another judge alludu home but
[18:24]then now Allah says in the Quran every time god forbid those
[18:28]who are in the Hellfire every time their skin burns Allah will
[18:36]recreate that skin over and over and over and over again they
[18:41]don't die a man came to Imam asada alehissalaam and asked you
[18:47]have never saw Allah how is that even possible how can the
[18:53]skin keeps on regenerating itself over and over and over again he
[18:58]says ok I'll show it to you an example bring me a
[19:01]brick that's made of clay so they brought him a brick made
[19:08]of clay Imams 11 Lally broke the brick ok it's all broken
[19:11]in pieces he's lucky yes then he took some water and he
[19:18]put it over the clay what happens become softer so the Imam
[19:22]Salomon Lally molded it back in the exact same shape it used
[19:26]to be before he said there you go it's the exact same
[19:32]clay nothing changed I changed this shape and then I put it
[19:35]back together so it's exact same clay and that's what will happen
[19:41]on the Hereafter God for a bit to those who go to
[19:42]Jahannam the same skin nothing will change the same body it will
[19:48]just go through unfortunately the difficulties of the pain of the disobedience
[19:55]of allah subhanahu wata'ala so sorry it tells how judge whatever way
[19:58]you like Allah to kill you you can't kill me that's you
[20:00]know and then he said you know what you really don't deserve
[20:06]to live side turn him away from Kibler so they turned him
[20:15]away from qibla he says for anima to Alou fatima watch Allah
[20:20]wherever you turn servers from the Quran Allah has right there so
[20:23]whether you make me face tablet tablet whatever device that doesn't matter
[20:27]to me they throw him onto the ground and they are about
[20:32]to kill him Saeed says my lord er up LA to salute
[20:38]her Allah I hadn't body taught do not make him kill anyone
[20:41]after me ever again and they kill Saddam nah jerr-bear were gone
[20:47]Allah Allah Allah he gets killed indeed Allah accepts the door of
[20:56]Syed two weeks later had judge dies so side was the last
[21:00]victim of al-hajjaj sir I'd left this dunya in peace had judged
[21:04]however was always in pain in fact after killing side it is
[21:12]said for the last two weeks of his life after side every
[21:14]night he wakes up and he says my gosh he has a
[21:20]nightmare of a nightmare about side and he says why did I
[21:23]kill Sahib net robear molly was a a double to me why
[21:27]did I kill him for two weeks until he perished until he
[21:32]died imagine that feeling the guilt that's why I'm saying people who
[21:36]live with Allah with the commands of Allah they live at peace
[21:39]and happiness those who don't unfortunately they live in a very difficult
[21:42]life so Allah subhana WA Ta'ala we believe in his divine justice
[21:47]divine justice and hence justice will be truly served in the Hereafter
[21:55]that's something important another thing which is important to address that some
[22:00]people sometimes inquire about they say Sheikh what about all these disasters
[22:08]that happen in the world that we observe these days how is
[22:10]you know how is that fair we say well there are many
[22:15]reasons for it first of all some of those disasters we cannot
[22:17]blame Allah subhanAllah for them you cannot blame allah subhana wa ta'ala
[22:22]for some of these disasters like this microphone keeps on shifting away
[22:25]from me you know I can't blame that on a loss of
[22:29]Hannah wata'ala whomever did you know they guys didn't tighten the screw
[22:32]here solid enough but in some cases that we observe we cannot
[22:40]blame them on Allah subhana WA Ta'ala today I was reading somewhere
[22:44]in the news there is a proximately 1 billion people 1 billion
[22:49]people who are living in poverty 1 billion can we hold a
[22:58]law as possible for this it's us were the one responsible human
[23:04]beings are responsible I mentioned a few nights ago I said dr.
[23:08]Muhammad Yunus who won the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2006 in
[23:15]Bangladesh he writes that 94 percent of the world's wealth is in
[23:19]the hand of 40% of the world's population the remaining 60% of
[23:23]people they have only 6 percent of the world's wealth to share
[23:28]it amongst them so you know among themselves that is not a
[23:30]loss fold that's us our greed is the problem so we cannot
[23:35]blame it that's one thing second thing sometimes what we may see
[23:38]as a disaster it just depends on the viewpoint others might feel
[23:45]as it's something which is a blessing you guys here have well
[23:49]not here in hamdulillah now but in this country you have hurricanes
[23:52]hurricanes and sometimes they come and they hurt some people unfortunately they
[23:58]demolish homes and so on so forth well some people see them
[24:03]as a disaster construction companies however see them as a blessing once
[24:09]you have homes being demolished well they have to be rebuilt so
[24:13]construction companies that's wonderful I was talking to one of the brothers
[24:18]today about you know Hurricane Katrina you guys remember Hurricane Katrina you
[24:22]know and he said that the government has spent billions of dollars
[24:30]trying to rebuild that area well billions of dollars some people have
[24:34]made billions of dollars when someone spends means someone's making money so
[24:39]what we may perceive as a disaster others might look at it
[24:45]as a blessing it's like you know there was this it's a
[24:47]true story you know I think you guys have it here as
[24:52]well you know in Iraq we there's the cemetery right and so
[24:56]there's this man who's really responsible when someone dies he goes and
[25:00]he washes the body and does the calf and they take care
[25:04]of that process and then the burial process and of course he
[25:07]charges he charges so that that's what he does for a living
[25:12]so every morning this guy who wakes up after federal prayers he
[25:15]says yeah Allah increase in our gryszek yeah Allah increase in our
[25:19]chrism y'all know that's how he makes his living you know increases
[25:27]RZA means Allah make some people die so that I can go
[25:29]and earn some money some money you know what what may some
[25:33]people see as you know something sad or something bad to him
[25:36]and hamdulillah this is from allah subhanahu wata'ala so it depends which
[25:41]way you really look at it sometimes we look at it from
[25:46]one lens it's a curse but on the other lens it's a
[25:48]blessing so that's why we cannot take a look at things in
[25:53]just one perspective and that's a lengthy discussion as well I just
[25:56]wanted to really to touch base on it in a way that
[26:01]we realize that allah subhanaw taala is fair he is just and
[26:05]what we experience in this world today sometimes what we may perceive
[26:12]it as an act of injustice it is actually a blessing but
[26:16]a blessing in disguise as they say it alright so that concludes
[26:20]our discussion with the first journey of the colonnade then what happens
[26:28]well very briefly let's touch base on what happened next thumb at
[26:33]Boaz Sababa then he continued his journey remember we said that Allah
[26:36]subhana WA Ta'ala taught him the means so the colony knew how
[26:41]to travel and apparently he knew how to travel quickly so whatever
[26:45]that means a oh Allah may have taught him how to cross
[26:48]land really quickly whatever it's not mentioned how but apparently he knows
[26:53]how to travel quickly so he went as far west to the
[26:59]point that was his first journey where he does not see land
[27:01]anymore now Allah says hata isabella the motto lia shemp's in that
[27:11]first journey he says hata EDA balata mahadeva shams until he reached
[27:16]where the sunsets here Matla shemp's where the sun rises so apparently
[27:22]he went from far west to the far east where God knows
[27:28]you know maybe he made it all the way to the borders
[27:34]of China possibly allowing God knows so now he's at the Pacific
[27:39]Ocean maybe but nonetheless he now makes it as far east so
[27:42]all the way from far west so far east then what did
[27:48]he observe whoa jet AHA toddler or Allah omen Lemna allah home
[27:53]in dunya cetera he observed something interesting he comes to a group
[28:00]of people who apparently are living a very no magic life very
[28:10]very primitive life they do not cover themselves from the Sun that
[28:17]may mean that they did not have houses they had not developed
[28:21]the idea of making houses and may even mean that they may
[28:26]not even had clothes they did not even know how to make
[28:28]clothes so they were living a very very primitive life and that
[28:35]is something that he discovered now upon arriving there when he saw
[28:39]that he saw these people living in the heat of the Sun
[28:42]so when the Sun comes they would hide for example under trees
[28:47]they would maybe take a dive in the water for some time
[28:50]to cool themselves off come out and there's the Sun is hitting
[28:56]them they may not even have had any clothes so being a
[28:59]good king what do you think he did he didn't give them
[29:07]a clothes something more important he taught them how to make clothes
[29:11]it's not good enough to give people clothes it's important that you
[29:15]teach them because what happens when you leave then that's it and
[29:21]that's something important brothers and sisters one of the ways that Islam
[29:29]worked to eradicate poverty was by teaching people how to do things
[29:36]a little betta alayhim as-salam whenever they used to buy slaves when
[29:42]they used to buy slaves Imam Sajjad alehissalaam for example every year
[29:48]he used to buy slaves and he would wait until the day
[29:53]of Eid after the holy month of Ramadan the day of Reid
[29:59]he keeps a slave for one year on the day of Eid
[30:00]like in few days inshallah he would gather all the slaves and
[30:07]he would tell them how was I as a master did I
[30:11]treat you well and all of them would say we have not
[30:13]seen a master better than you you're such a great man you
[30:18]treat us like we're your children you treat us with compassion with
[30:22]love he says if that is the case then can you please
[30:25]pray for me and ask Allah to forgive me so they all
[30:31]raise their hands and say your Allah forgive ali abdullah hussein Jana
[30:35]Labadee and he says I have also forgiven you all and you
[30:43]are all free free fellows you can go that's it however before
[30:47]he lets them all go he teaches them some of them he
[30:55]teaches them how to farm some of them the Imams sometimes we
[30:58]hear about cases where they taught people how to cut hair you
[31:03]know to become barbers for example some of them they would give
[31:05]them money say here take this money and do some business with
[31:07]it that is important because what happens imagine what happens if you
[31:12]just let go of these slaves who don't own anything they don't
[31:17]have anything nothing and you let them go on the street what
[31:21]will happen chaos what else also will happen what will they do
[31:25]they'll start stealing maybe to earn money so they might hide create
[31:31]who create chaos or they might be begging on the street which
[31:34]again creates another problem you haven't solved the problem the best thing
[31:39]to do to alleviate poverty is to educate to teach people so
[31:43]he used to teach these people and that's one thing which is
[31:51]important the logname whose beam came to these people he saw them
[31:55]living a very primitive life so he taught them how to build
[32:01]houses remember allah subhanaw taala todd ville canaan he knew he knew
[32:05]how to make things so he came to them he said let
[32:10]me show you how you can build homes so they learned how
[32:12]to build houses now when the Sun comes they can go under
[32:19]the shade he taught them how to stitch clothes how to make
[32:22]clothes and so they learned how to make clothes to protect themselves
[32:30]and then he taught them certain things after they were taught he
[32:34]spent some time with them now that they became independent he let
[32:37]them go and he moved on that is important let me tell
[32:45]you something brothers and sisters I have a friend of mine who
[32:51]completed a bachelor in history specializing in African history so one day
[33:02]I was talking to him and I said to him brother you
[33:05]know since you specialize in African history I have really a question
[33:09]to ask of you he said you are what is it I
[33:13]said to him you know what we see like in the images
[33:15]about Africa today in the television you know what images you see
[33:23]of Africa hunger what else poverty problem fighting right is that the
[33:28]thing I actually I've been to some parts of Africa I've been
[33:31]to some parts and I've seen people literally living in a hut
[33:37]in a hut that is made do you know palm trees you
[33:39]know the palm trees you know the leaves of palm trees literally
[33:42]that's what they have covering their houses no air conditioning no water
[33:52]no running water no electricity nothing nothing and those people some of
[33:57]them are making literally one dollar a day they work from 8
[34:02]a.m.
[34:03]till 8 p.m.
[34:06]12 hours a day to make one dollar that's it one dollar
[34:10]to the point where many of them cannot afford to send their
[34:16]children to school do you know why because the uniform costs four
[34:20]dollars the uniform costs four dollars and if this guy is making
[34:24]$1 a day you think he can afford four dollars for a
[34:29]uniform that's like four days of work four dollars isn't that sad
[34:39]and we complain you know sometimes Oh what is this a star
[34:43]I don't like this a fog why did you cook this why
[34:46]did you make this I want that I want have you seen
[34:49]that happen maybe you should go to and see some of those
[34:52]parts of the world where people don't even have a father you
[34:55]know alhamdulillah I'm do the one of the biggest namo Allah that
[34:58]we don't even think about is when the time of a power
[35:00]comes we don't have to even think about having food that's not
[35:05]something that we need to concern ourselves with it's not a worry
[35:08]we're not worried about having a farm there are people who have
[35:15]to worry they don't have anything to eat so that's very unfortunate
[35:18]we really need to appreciate what we have hamdulillah hamdulillah every time
[35:23]you open that tap of water and you see running water fresh
[35:27]running water say it hamdulillah you know how many people in the
[35:31]world they don't have this luxury that's to them that's a luxury
[35:34]why go far here just next to you guys Flint what happened
[35:40]to Flint they didn't even have drinking water never mind Africa here
[35:47]so sometimes having that drinking water is a luxury that we need
[35:52]to appreciate I asked my friend I said to him you know
[35:57]whenever we turn television just like you guys you know this is
[36:00]the image we get off Africa poor people poverty hunger people are
[36:06]dying thirst etc etc I thought has Africa always been like this
[36:09]I mean you studied the history of Africa I have has always
[36:15]been like that he's like no in fact Africa was a very
[36:18]wealthy place so it doesn't well what happened then why is all
[36:28]this problem what happened listen he says Africa was very rich with
[36:33]agriculture back you know we're talking about two centuries ago - three
[36:37]centuries ago - three centuries ago Africa Africa was very rich with
[36:41]agriculture these to farm farm and some areas in Africa they had
[36:48]access to the water so they used to fish it depends where
[36:51]in Africa so farming fishing tribal living they had tribes the tribes
[36:58]would work together as a tribe you know you have a tribe
[37:03]leader and the tribes would live together so they you know they
[37:06]were wealthy people you know living you know an average life I
[37:14]guess as a tribe until the imperial powers came in and parelle
[37:18]powers came in all right so tell them what happened he says
[37:25]first thing they did they came to these farmers we used to
[37:30]farm let's say the potatoes the vegetables the fruits they told them
[37:36]how about you guys farm coffee and tea how much do you
[37:42]guys make let's say for example a kilo of potatoes how much
[37:44]do you make let's say for example let's say for example they
[37:46]say we make a dollar you know just I'm throwing a number
[37:49]out there I said you know what we'll pay you five dollars
[37:53]we'll pay you five dollars if you farm coffee and tea don't
[38:03]find potatoes anymore said great five bucks yeah sure why not so
[38:08]they stopped farming vegetables and fruits which is something that they use
[38:13]to eat from this is what they used to eat okay now
[38:19]they're farming coffee and tea those guys started paying them but now
[38:26]they did not have any vegetables for themselves to eat so what
[38:34]did anything here they get their food from now trade trade we're
[38:38]going to sell you food we will sell you food all right
[38:44]so that $5.00 now we need to take some of it back
[38:46]because we have to sell you correct and that continued that's right
[38:55]exactly I understand your frustration I'm just as frustrated as you are
[39:04]so that continued for decades until generations were formed now this was
[39:11]not like a one-year process decades until generations were raised who just
[39:18]could not even they didn't even know how to form potatoes hollows
[39:22]fresh fruit vegetable they just don't know only thing they know is
[39:27]what farming what coffee and tea that's it that's the only thing
[39:30]they know how to do when that happened and those generations disappeared
[39:37]the earlier ones and you have only now new generations who can
[39:41]only farm coffee and tea they don't know how to do anything
[39:46]else and they're used and dependent on the food that they trade
[39:49]now they came to them and they said listen instead of paying
[39:57]you $5.00 per kilogram we're going to pay you 50 cents take
[40:03]it or leave it too bad imagine from five dollars and I'm
[40:11]again I'm just giving you a numbers out there from making five
[40:14]dollars per kilogram down to 50 cents per kilogram what do you
[40:17]think will happen to the economy it will collapse that's that's what
[40:24]happened what else then they came and they said you know we
[40:31]need to draft borders we need to make borders so they made
[40:36]borders a tribe half of it was on this side of the
[40:42]border the other side the other half is in here on the
[40:43]side and these tribes are saying what do you mean borders you
[40:47]know I want to go see my cousin who just lives over
[40:51]there no sorry you cannot cross anymore this is a different country
[40:53]what do you mean a different country what does that mean you
[40:56]know we're all one tribe not anymore you need to have a
[41:02]document to travel you cannot just travel like this anymore so now
[41:06]tribes were separated in addition a problem that we observed in Rwanda
[41:11]those of you who remember back in the 90s they were wanting
[41:16]genocide they came to the weaker tribe the smaller tribe they made
[41:21]them the leaders and gave them the arms whereas the majority of
[41:30]the tribe the bigger tribe they were enslaved by the smaller tribe
[41:36]who had the arms so what do you think will happen the
[41:40]majority tribe they're the majority they're being governed by the minority what
[41:47]do you think will happen the genocide of Rwanda that's what happened
[41:52]killing fighting wars he says you put all these things together among
[41:59]other things I'm just giving you the you know brief among other
[42:03]things and that's what you have happening people dying death poverty separation
[42:10]and all this shoes when I looked at him you know when
[42:15]I heard this I said subhanAllah who we're the masterminds of all
[42:24]this which part of Jahannam are they burning right now can you
[42:29]imagine whomever planned this master plan you know master plan whomever organized
[42:37]it he must have thought 200 years down the road and because
[42:43]of his plan now millions of people are getting killed millions of
[42:48]people are living under the poverty line because of those plans in
[42:56]addition in addition to all this what is happening to the wealth
[43:00]of Africa where is it going is it going back to the
[43:06]people Africa is wealthy in diamonds do you think the average African
[43:10]is receiving any benefits from these diamonds no you have an elite
[43:15]group a few individuals who are fooled with money so they become
[43:19]the elites corruption they take all the money and they keep the
[43:24]majority of the people dying in hunger so all this wealth is
[43:30]being taken away you see all that that is very sad reality
[43:34]and what you have happening is some of those imperial powers today
[43:40]raising funds and say we need to help the poor who live
[43:45]in Africa so let's donate well who started all this in the
[43:47]first place second let's not just donate let us help them to
[43:57]become independent but that's not the plan the COG main help those
[44:01]poor people to develop a plan for independence teaching them helping them
[44:07]educating them until they stand on their feet and then you can
[44:11]let them go is that what we see happening in Africa today
[44:13]organ impoverished nations no it's not that's an important lesson we learn
[44:18]from here is that in order for us to eradicate poverty to
[44:23]fight poverty we need establish a social system and we need to
[44:29]help nations to become independent this idea this idea which is or
[44:38]an offshoot of this idea the concept of microcredits is what made
[44:42]dr.
[44:43]muhammad yunus of bangladesh earned the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2006
[44:47]because in Bangladesh there were many poor people he said you know
[44:50]what will give you microcredits I'll give you a hundred bucks as
[44:55]a loan you go and buy a sewing machine with this 100
[44:59]bucks so start sewing and then you become independent or you go
[45:03]and buy for example a motorbike for this hundred bucks and start
[45:08]delivering food or delivering stuff or you go and buy for example
[45:12]some bakery tools and start baking microcredit and so thousands of people
[45:19]were helped to fight against poverty to rise from poverty and he
[45:25]said the interesting thing the majority of those people paid back their
[45:31]loans majority of them even though he says interestingly most of them
[45:34]where people who are illiterate they did not even know how to
[45:36]read and write so we never had contracts you know what do
[45:40]they understand about a contract you know if you go today to
[45:41]a bank and ask for a bank loan what do they do
[45:43]mashallah huge papers 20 papers you have to sign each one and
[45:47]every one of them is that those people don't even understand what
[45:50]this means so I said our agreement was a handshake that's it
[45:54]here is 100 bucks handshake you'll pay it back yes I will
[45:57]pay it back and he says that handshake worked people paid it
[46:02]back but that's one system which won the Nobel Prize for peace
[46:05]but we find its roots and the Quran its roots in the
[46:11]Quran help people become independent and that's one thing we learn about
[46:16]this aspect of the story of the Iranian there are other aspects
[46:19]that we learn from this aspect as well from this story that
[46:23]we will inshallah take a look at it tomorrow Allah gives us
[46:25]no fear to do so at this point my brothers and sisters
[46:30]there is thought I was still happening in that hole any of
[46:33]them mean who would like to join us for the Wessel it
[46:36]takes about 20 or so minutes and inshallah you can join us
[46:41]in that hole otherwise if you wish to go home you're free
[46:43]to do so I'll just conclude with this draw for our Imam
[46:48]actual allahu ta'ala father who sharif bismillahir rahmanir rahim allah allah allah
[46:54]muhammad ali muhammad allahumma Kalyani can vegetable Hassan Salameh to care Allah
[47:05]Allah see honey he's ahaha what we could listen Wally and waffle
[47:13]all what I don't wanna go what the Nealon why Nina ha
