[2:32]our discussion about imam ali IBN ABI talib salawatullahi wa salamu alayh
[2:36]last night we said we said that one of the reasons why
[2:43]we want to follow Imam Ali you'll never be a part of
[2:46]alehissalaam is because he is a personality that demonstrated the pinnacle of
[2:52]success when it comes to achieving the purpose of life and that
[2:55]is achieving the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala as we discussed
[3:05]in Surat a Toba tonight insha Allah will shed light on a
[3:10]different aspect of why do we need to follow Imam Ali o
[3:14]Habib Allah Allah Allah he was salam are they in the 21st
[3:20]century the ayat i just read from surat at da oval in
[3:30]san discuss an incident that happened during the time of the Prophet
[3:36]peace be upon him and his divine family where one day imam
[3:41]al hasan an imam al-hussein alayhim as-salam became ill and hence fatima
[3:48]to Zara and Imam Ali re him as Salam made another a
[3:50]vow if Allah were to cure them then they would fast for
[3:59]three consecutive days Allah subhana WA Ta'ala gave imam al hassan an
[4:03]imam hussain ali mussalam a quick recovery so Imam Ali and Fatima
[4:09]Tassajara alayhim as-salam fulfilled their neither fulfilled their vow so they fasted
[4:16]for three consecutive days as they planned to fast imam al hasan
[4:20]an imam al-hussein alayhim as-salam said we will join you in the
[4:24]fast even though they were very young still but they said we
[4:30]are going to fast as a family so they decided to fast
[4:33]as a family on the first day after fasting a long day
[4:41]at about the time of a fog they hear a knock on
[4:47]the door they open the door and they find a poor person
[4:50]a destitute requesting some help asking for some food so they take
[4:57]all the food that they had for iftar and they give it
[5:02]to this poor person and they break their fast with a drink
[5:05]of water the second day again they fast and at the time
[5:16]of the fog they hear a knock on the door this time
[5:23]they open the door and they find an orphan who's asking for
[5:26]some food again they take all that food that they had and
[5:30]they give it to the orphan and they break their fast with
[5:36]a drink of water the third day at the time of a
[5:44]fog after fasting long days and for two consecutive days they have
[5:49]not had food to eat again at the time of a fog
[5:51]someone knocks the door and this time it's a prisoner who says
[5:58]I don't have any food to eat can you please give me
[6:00]some food and so they give him food again and they break
[6:06]there far only with drinks of water imagine fasting three consecutive days
[6:11]and breaking your power fast only with drinks of water for three
[6:21]consecutive days so they became tired the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa al
[6:26]came to visit them and he saw them in this state where
[6:28]they were tired they were fatigued and he cried for seeing them
[6:35]in the state Allah subhana WA Ta'ala they revealed the surah surah
[6:43]tada valence an and praise of what a low beta alayhim wa
[6:46]sallam and sacrificing their food to help the needy to help the
[6:55]orphan to help those who are in need of help one thing
[7:02]that is interesting here as they were helping the poor and the
[7:06]needy they never said anything but their intention was that we want
[7:11]to help you for the sake of the pleasure of allah subhanahu
[7:17]wa'ta'ala nor do we want or thank you or do we expect
[7:19]any reward from you that was their intention they help purely for
[7:26]the sake of helping not necessarily to be recognized not necessarily to
[7:32]be known or mentioned Allah subhana WA Ta'ala took this intentioned in
[7:38]this new year and he put it in the Quran when he
[7:43]says in naman opah mo komyoji la la no we do minkum
[7:45]Jezza and voila Sakura we feed you purely for the sake of
[7:53]Allah we don't want a reward from you nor even a word
[7:56]of gratitude this is the intention of our Almighty Allah he Musa
[8:05]Dagh that spirit of giving carried through when Imam Ali o venerable
[8:13]olive alehissalaam became the ha'la'tha of the Muslims he realized that there
[8:19]were people who were impoverished there were people who are living under
[8:26]the poverty line there were people who were homeless and so he
[8:31]developed a strategy to combat poverty to combat homelessness given the time
[8:41]of course we will not be able to discuss his strategy at
[8:44]length but we'll set some lights on some of the points that
[8:46]he did before I commenced on his strategies a couple years ago
[8:57]I was reading in the papers about the g7 nations which are
[9:02]the biggest kind of industrial nations in the world the developed countries
[9:07]in the world and they meet on an annual basis and they
[9:10]develop targets a couple of years ago a target that was developed
[9:18]which was interesting it was to eradicate poverty by the year 2030
[9:25]eradicate global poverty by the year 2030 so this was a target
[9:29]that was set and the newspaper started discussing it when I read
[9:36]the news the first thing that came to my mind is how
[9:39]it's easy to set a target but what is the strategy strategy
[9:52]was not mentioned today there are approximately approximately 1 billion people who
[10:01]are living under the poverty line globally 1 billion people in the
[10:08]United States alone you have approximately 30 million people living under the
[10:17]poverty line what that means is that people who don't have food
[10:24]for the dinner and this has a huge impact on the education
[10:26]on the children it's a vicious cycle which keeps on continuing I
[10:30]don't think there is a single mayor of the developed world in
[10:39]a major city who can stand up and say I don't have
[10:46]any homeless people in my city addressing homelessness as an issue addressing
[10:50]poverty is an issue and globally people are trying to address these
[10:58]issues well one reason why we need to study the life of
[11:05]Imam Ali ibn ABI Taleb alehissalaam in the 21st century and why
[11:09]it is so important and so relevant is because we have a
[11:15]living model of a system that is not fictional real that governed
[11:22]many parts of the world yet eradicated poverty and Radek ated homelessness
[11:28]so it's worthwhile for us to study the system and try to
[11:33]understand how it worked what did he do and try to implement
[11:37]some of these strategies in this day and age one thing that
[11:46]Imam Ali of navya pile of alehissalaam did is social welfare or
[11:53]social assistance to everyone in the Islamic state of his day under
[11:59]his rule and by the way when we talk about the leadership
[12:04]of Imam Ali alehissalaam we are talking approximately of his Halawa him
[12:14]leading 30 or so countries of today's world map you're talking about
[12:20]Egypt all the way to Iran including Afghanistan and that part of
[12:26]the world the only region that was not under his rule from
[12:34]this whole area was Damascus Bela - um today's Syria that was
[12:38]the only region that wasn't under his rule that was under the
[12:41]rule of law we have Navy Sofia but the rest all these
[12:47]countries the Gulf countries of today Yemen Egypt you go to Iran
[12:51]Iraq etc etc all those states all those countries where under his
[12:57]leadership so to have such a large piece of land to govern
[13:06]with so many people and not to have any people who are
[13:10]impoverished that is indeed an accomplishment one thing the imam salam ala
[13:17]hele did is the social assistance first of all whatever he used
[13:24]to get to receive in terms of the wealth of the state
[13:28]taxes for example in Islam we have taxes there in different forms
[13:32]than the forms of zakat and the forms of homes and some
[13:37]other forms as well those taxes when they used to come the
[13:44]Imam Salama Waialae used to distribute these taxes back to the people
[13:49]in a fair manner where people were judged equally nobody was given
[13:55]more than what he or she deserves one day his own sister
[14:00]omaha knee comes with her maid they come to him and he
[14:09]takes some of the money gives his sister and takes some money
[14:12]and gives to the maid as they walk outside his sister looks
[14:18]at the maid and asks her how much did he give you
[14:22]so the maid opens her hand and says well this is how
[14:25]much he gave me the sister looks at her hand and she
[14:30]says my lord that's exactly how much he gave me as well
[14:38]you are my maid she goes back to him this is his
[14:40]own sister the sister of the Khalifa and he just to give
[14:44]things you know in a perspective you're talking about the president's sister
[14:49]well we see what his daughter is doing these days but nonetheless
[14:55]so she walks in and she tells him yeah Ali I am
[15:05]your sister that's one thing I'm the Haditha sister second I'm an
[15:10]Arab my maid is not even an Arab three I'm from Beni
[15:17]Hashem and she's not even from Beni Hashem I have all these
[15:22]merits which means I should get more I deserve more than her
[15:33]he picks up a piece of the sand in both of his
[15:35]hands and he opens them and he says do you see a
[15:41]difference between this and this sand she says no he says there
[15:44]are there's no difference between an Arab and a non Arab except
[15:53]when it comes to what piety top wha the fear of Allah
[15:56]the love of allah subhana wa ta'ala and that will be judged
[16:02]by Allah subhana WA Ta'ala God knows you may have an Arab
[16:04]who is extremely pious extremely fearful of God obeys the commands of
[16:11]Allah you may have a nun Arab who's extremely pious and fearful
[16:15]of Allah and follows the command of Allah it doesn't matter and
[16:19]they will be both equal in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu WA
[16:25]Ta'ala it's not about being an Arab or non Arab it was
[16:27]not until that won t yet century when people eradicated racism at
[16:35]least on paper but we still see what is happening in Ferguson
[16:39]we see what happens in Orlando we see what happens in other
[16:42]parts of this country it still exists but it was not until
[16:50]the 20th century that at least on paper it was banned imam
[16:53]ali salam wa la banded 14 centuries ago in practice not in
[16:59]theory he says there is no difference you get whatever you made
[17:04]gets and that's it and this was something that made people upset
[17:12]people like his own cousin az-zubair Abner I'm the son of Sofia
[17:17]the prophet's aunt an imam ali's aunt zou bay and others other
[17:21]companion paula became very upset that why is a leonid ilyich giving
[17:29]us the same as everyone else and this was one of the
[17:32]reason that they raged they would they waged a war against him
[17:36]um and um nebula Valley Salaam the Battle of German they sought
[17:39]the help of one of the prophet's wives Oh mommy Nina Aisha
[17:43]and they requested her to join their camp and they raised an
[17:48]army to go fight against Imam Ali ibn ABI Talib alehissalaam because
[17:52]some people just could not hand being treated fairly that's something that
[18:00]people sometimes dislike it steps on people it's toys a toes to
[18:09]treat them fairly people like a caste system sometimes they don't like
[18:13]that to be treated fairly you know they say sometimes in English
[18:18]the truth hurts people sometimes cannot handle it and they don't like
[18:25]it but even though it's led to a war the Battle of
[18:32]German people told Imam Ali alehissalaam yeah Ameer al-mumineen there are some
[18:37]people like Paul ha like zubayr like Marija and Shan these people
[18:42]want some power you give them the power just until you can
[18:48]really set yourself you know get your Halawa up and running get
[18:52]your state up and running and then you can do whatever you
[18:58]want with these people for now it's okay give them what they
[19:01]want Imam Ali Ali salam says and then what am I going
[19:08]to answer to allah subhanahu wata'ala I give them what they want
[19:14]if any person gets oppressed because of Malawi as oppression who is
[19:18]going to be responsible then I will be held responsible before Allah
[19:23]spano Atala he I cannot accept that and that led to another
[19:27]battle the bad loss of Fein where Maori having a visa fee
[19:33]on which the war but see this is where Hawk and battle
[19:36]truth and falsehood and a person has to be on the truth
[19:45]side even though it might upset some people but at least one
[19:48]knows that he is doing what is right Imams own brother a
[19:56]Dean comes to him and this is mentioned in natural Bulava imam
[20:00]ali ali salam says i saw my own brother appeal coming to
[20:06]me with his children who are the children of peel once one
[20:10]of them is Muslim even appeal the ambassador of Imam al-hussein alehissalaam
[20:14]who was killed in Kufa that's one of them Muslim I saw
[20:19]my own brother appeal coming to me with his children and I
[20:25]saw them full of dust they don't look very good an appeal
[20:33]is telling me Ali give me some more money from the Muslims
[20:37]Treasury increase my salary now why was a teen poor is a
[20:43]question we just said that there are no poor people so what
[20:46]happens well appeal used to be generous generosity is a good thing
[20:54]but not overspending Athene used to overspend used to give and give
[20:59]until maybe halfway through the month he runs out but that's not
[21:03]even at his fault so he came come he comes once to
[21:08]Imam Ali Ali has Salaam and tells him yeah Amir al-mumineen you
[21:11]give me something as well man Ali Ali has Salaam said you
[21:18]want money from the Muslims Treasury said yes he says how about
[21:21]if you and I you know now it's gonna get dark pretty
[21:25]soon how about if you and I when it gets dark go
[21:29]out and steal from some shop and I'll steal some money from
[21:31]you and then for you and give it to you is what
[21:34]you're talking about you want to make us become thieves at the
[21:36]end of our lives he says well isn't that what you're asking
[21:41]me to do at least when you steal from a shop you're
[21:43]stealing from one person you're telling me to steal money from the
[21:48]Muslims Treasury so we're stealing from all Muslims a kid had no
[21:57]answer he then insisted on imam ali ali assalaam so then imam
[22:01]ali salaam at that time appeal had lost his eyesight because of
[22:04]old age imam ali salam ala then took a metal rod heated
[22:09]it up in the fire and said they'll hold this now a
[22:15]kid could not see he had lost his eyesight so when he
[22:17]held it he immediately he got burned so he merely cried and
[22:20]said only what are you doing said what happened a pain was
[22:27]that painful is it of course it's a fire he said the
[22:30]I appeal your crying from a fire that I prepared to teach
[22:35]you a lesson and you don't want me to worry about the
[22:37]fire that Allah subhana WA Ta'ala has prepared to punish those who
[22:40]steal from the people's money I'm so happy I can give you
[22:48]anything do you see this great example where his own siblings come
[22:52]to him for money and they don't get anything except what they
[22:57]deserve it's not because he is the son-in-law of the leader or
[23:04]she is the daughter of the leader or she's so-and-so of the
[23:08]leader then she gets you know special rights or because he's a
[23:15]friend of the leader and he is a cousin of the leader
[23:16]and he's a son of the leader then masha'Allah the wolf gets
[23:23]divided amongst the family well at whose expense it's at those who
[23:28]become impoverished it's at the expense of those 30 million people who
[23:31]don't have anything to eat for dinner so that was one strategy
[23:40]of the imam salam o ali social assistance and fair distribution of
[23:45]wealth there is a noble laureate who won the Nobel Prize for
[23:50]Peace in 2006 in 2006 a man by the name of dr.
[24:00]Muhammad Yunus from Bangladesh won the Nobel Prize for Peace he writes
[24:06]in one of his books he says poverty that we see in
[24:15]the world today is not because we don't have enough resources so
[24:20]then what is the problem he says because we don't have a
[24:24]fair distribution of resources what do you mean he says and listen
[24:28]to this statistic 94% of the world's wealth is in the hands
[24:39]of 40% of the world's population I repeat ninety-four percent of the
[24:49]world's wealth is in the hands of 40 percent of the world's
[24:57]population the remaining 6% is divided by sixty percent let me put
[25:01]that in perspective for you suppose you have a room here with
[25:07]a hundred people okay and you have a pie that you can
[25:11]evenly slice into hundred slices logic dictates that you have hundred slices
[25:16]hundred people in the room therefore each person gets how many slice
[25:21]one slice correct and that will feed each and every person in
[25:28]the room and keep them happy that's what logic dictates however what
[25:35]is happening in reality is you divide the people in the room
[25:41]into two groups you have forty on one side and sixty on
[25:47]the other side so it's not even an even distribution forty on
[25:51]one side 60 on the other side then you take 94 slices
[25:56]of the pie and you give them to the 40 say there
[26:01]you go that's yours you have six more slices left to feed
[26:10]60 people what do you think will happen fighting war people will
[26:20]become impoverished problems that's what we're observing today and in the world
[26:28]it's interesting even if you ask a ten-year-old here in the crowd
[26:34]he will tell you each person gets one slice but the adults
[26:37]who are running the world that's not how they see it 94%
[26:40]goes to 40% that's why we have some individuals who you know
[26:51]interestingly state that our world today is running not by saying people
[26:57]but rather on insanity because which sane person would see a person
[27:02]dying in front of them and not give them any food so
[27:07]you see the even distribution of wealth and when we talk about
[27:11]even distribution of wealth by the way I want to clarify something
[27:16]we're not talking about a socialist government or a communist government that
[27:20]says you cannot have wealthy people that's not what I thought what
[27:23]we're saying no you can have people who are businessmen or business
[27:26]women you can have the wealthy class but that wealthy class needs
[27:33]to pay its dues needs to pay its taxes that's why Imam
[27:36]Ali of Nabil olive alehissalaam says in natural balada innallaha Subhanahu Farah
[27:44]Pahlavi my Lilith Nia a poet Elphaba for Maha a51 illa bima
[27:48]mutia be here dhania wa llahu ta'ala elohim and alack he says
[27:55]Allah subhana WA Ta'ala has dictated that the poor the poor share
[28:00]of the wealth is in the hands of the rich so you
[28:05]don't find a poor person suffering because unless there is a rich
[28:10]man who what did not pay did not pay don't we have
[28:16]a president who takes pride and not paying taxes for the past
[28:18]18 years and he says that's being smart he found the loopholes
[28:25]in the system which allows him not to pay any taxes another
[28:29]billionaire in this country it was found that his secretary who makes
[28:34]about $36,000 a year or $40,000 a year pays more taxes than
[28:43]he does as a billionaire you think that's fair well then there's
[28:49]no surprise you have 30 million people suffering and you have those
[28:53]billionaires who found the loopholes in the system and they don't pay
[28:56]taxes well that's what happens imam ali of navi a pile of
[29:02]alehissalaam clothes those loopholes on people he told everyone you must pay
[29:09]your fair share and then when they pay the fair share instead
[29:12]of him taking it for himself or giving it to his siblings
[29:17]and his cousins and his family members he was actually giving it
[29:21]back to the people who most needed that's another important aspect so
[29:26]one is you close the loopholes that allow the rich to become
[29:34]richer second when you take taxes you divide them well three Imam
[29:40]Ali ibn ABI Taleb alehissalaam fought corruption he would not allow he
[29:46]would not allow some of his leaders some of his governors to
[29:53]run a business just because I'm the governor or I'm the mayor
[29:57]or I'm the leader then I can get things done my way
[30:01]he would not allow that one of his governors he had a
[30:08]governor on Basra in the city of Basra in Iraq today a
[30:15]man by the name of Earth man even Phaneuf one of the
[30:19]wealthy people in the city of Basra sets up a dinner and
[30:24]he invites only the rich it's a dinner for the elites that's
[30:28]it and he invites the governor of Basra who's the governor of
[30:33]Imam Ali maybe bali bah-li salaam he put him there but man
[30:38]even / naith earth man being the governor attends the dinner imam
[30:44]ali of navya Tyler Ali Salim hears about it he writes a
[30:50]letter and he sends it to him he says how dare you
[30:56]attend a dinner that is only made for the rich when you
[30:59]as a governor are representing the rich and the poor you're not
[31:05]only the governor for the rich you for the governor for everyone
[31:08]else he says learn from my example look at me I eat
[31:17]dry bread that's what I have for food in terms of clothes
[31:24]I only have one pair of clothes that's it and sometimes it
[31:31]used to get tore and hear what stitches and he's the halifa
[31:37]learn from my example Halawa n le Colima a mormon imam yak
[31:47]teddy bear why estádio be noel may allah wa ni'ma maqam paddocks
[31:51]affirm in dunya hobart my woman taught me he before say Allah
[31:58]WA in na komm lattice Tatiana Allah Dalek autostadt Aruna Allah Dalek
[32:03]nuni be water and watch t hard what if Aten was her
[32:05]dad since I only eat a couple of pieces of bread for
[32:10]the whole day I only have a couple of pieces of clothing
[32:14]that i wear and that's it I don't have a closet full
[32:16]of clothes that's about to explode that's it learn from your leadership
[32:24]that's how the leadership lived the leadership did not live in a
[32:28]huge tower where the security of that tower costs the taxpayers millions
[32:33]and millions of dollars every year to pay for why should taxpayers
[32:37]pay for the taxes out of their own pockets for the security
[32:43]of a tower so that the wife of the leader can be
[32:45]protected when the leader himself masha'Allah he's a billionaire why can't he
[32:53]invest out of his own money well when the tax payers are
[33:01]paying out of their own pocket millions if not billions of dollars
[33:04]just for security unnecessarily then of course you'll have 30 million people
[33:14]suffering from poverty if these millions of dollars were spent on people
[33:18]then that would eradicate their poverty so there's corruption there is corruption
[33:25]that is happening Imam Ali fought against corruption another thing that Iman
[33:35]a noob nebula lab did Salaamu la la was he did not
[33:39]invest or I should say waste money in areas that were not
[33:46]necessary do you know what is your defense budget every year how
[33:50]much do you guys spend on military every year how much did
[33:56]the United States is the leader it's the leader in spendings every
[34:04]year on military how much do you guys know no 500 billion
[34:09]dollars a year 500 billion a year that's half a trillion half
[34:15]a trillion last year or in 2015 I should say in 2015
[34:20]there is an institute called the Stockholm Institute for International Peace Research
[34:27]it's an NGO you know that just deals with military spendings for
[34:34]peace etc etc you know they came up with a very interesting
[34:36]report you guys can look it up online you know they're available
[34:39]online the Stockholm Institute for peace for International Peace Research in 2015
[34:51]the world spent globally 1.7 trillion dollars on war 1.7 trillion dollars
[35:04]were spent on war globally and why was this money spent to
[35:10]achieve peace doesn't that sound ironic spending 1.7 billion a trillion story
[35:16]on war to achieve peace what this Institute's and I'll radio some
[35:23]of the statistics or some of the quotes the Institute suggests that
[35:31]if we take out of this 1.7 trillion dollars if we take
[35:38]12% we can enhance the whole telecommunication system of the world if
[35:49]we take an additional 13% we can eradicate poverty and hunger imagine
[35:57]1.7 trillion all in all you know I won't give you all
[36:00]the statistics but if anybody's interested I have them here all in
[36:08]all if we take approximately forty to fifty percent of that 1.7
[36:14]trillion dollars if we take 40% off and rather invest them on
[36:20]health education agriculture telecommunications and so on so forth we can eradicate
[36:30]most of the world's problems forty to fifty percent can you imagine
[36:37]this if you can provide people with food to eat if you
[36:46]provide them with water to drink you know there are some parts
[36:49]in Africa and I actually visited some of these parts of myself
[36:53]there are parts of Africa where people have to walk literally five
[37:02]miles to 20 miles in some areas to get access to clean
[37:06]water you know when you open the tap and that running water
[37:13]comes be grateful to Allah say l-hamdu lillahi rabbil aalameen you have
[37:18]a luxury that some people in the world would love to have
[37:21]would dream of having that they can open a tab and clean
[37:27]water would be running that's a luxury but we don't appreciate it
[37:34]imagine walking every day at least five miles five miles every day
[37:40]walking just to go get water and then you have to walk
[37:42]five miles back carrying that water jug with you then will you
[37:50]have energy to learn to go to school to educate to teach
[37:53]No so then what happens well a person remains ignorant yep you
[38:02]know communities remain impoverished what happens you have individuals who have some
[38:05]political agendas who can come and preach these communities whatever they want
[38:09]give them some bread give them some water and give them a
[38:15]gun and they can direct them in any way they want but
[38:23]if we can actually build water wells if we can get the
[38:26]sanitation up and running eradicate the poverty build hospitals you know five
[38:32]hundred billion dollars on military budget every year that spent only in
[38:39]this country alone how many hospitals can that build I've spoken to
[38:44]some health professionals they say approximately it costs approximately anywhere from one
[38:50]to two billion dollars to build a hospital one to two billion
[38:54]dollars to build a state-of-the-art hospital this includes the equipment's the beds
[39:00]etc etc so let's say two billion dollars five hundred billion dollars
[39:06]how many hospitals can you build can you do the math how
[39:12]many I sent mashallah we have some really good people in math
[39:16]I'm proud of you guys Americans you know pretty good job maybe
[39:20]you guys should teach your government how to do the math you
[39:28]know 250 hospitals can be built and then you have people who
[39:31]don't have health insurance you know something guys you guys are the
[39:34]only country in the world a developed country in the world that
[39:38]does not have universal health insurance you're the only developed country in
[39:43]the world people in Canada make fun of you guys you know
[39:46]with all the respect because we do have universal health insurance there
[39:51]was a an article once written by one of the leading Canadian
[39:57]newspapers which was making fun unfortunately in a very sad way you
[40:02]know it's stating the facts but in the United States it is
[40:08]legal to go and buy guns they're sold on the streets but
[40:11]when someone takes that gun and shoots people like happens you know
[40:15]almost unfortunately on a monthly basis just today there were some shootings
[40:19]unfortunately to some congressman which were very unfortunate you know incidents that
[40:26]happens there were some sometimes sometimes there were shootings at schools where
[40:32]children get killed at universities at movie theaters at religious institutions I
[40:37]mean that happens unfortunately on a regular basis it's very sad so
[40:42]this Canadian journalist is saying that in this country in the United
[40:46]States it's interesting you can go buy guns they're legally to be
[40:53]they're legally sold on the streets but when someone takes that gun
[40:58]and shoots someone else and that person doesn't die he ends up
[41:04]in the hospital he gets treated who pays the bill he will
[41:16]be given the bill he has to pay for it he's a
[41:19]victim he was just shot but because he doesn't have health insurance
[41:24]now that the hospital treated him and sometimes this could be costly
[41:32]expenses gunshots surgeries treatments etc they'll be slapped with a bill of
[41:37]$100,000 approximately give or take and they have to pay for it
[41:40]does that make any sense to you guys well that's the country
[41:47]you live in and hence you have poverty you have people who
[41:51]unfortunately are not getting the treatments that they deserve that they need
[41:57]it's a great country don't take me wrong the American people are
[42:02]very nice people they're very supportive very generous and that's why in
[42:06]many of these occasions when some things like this happen you have
[42:10]the general people the general public coming and donating to help out
[42:15]sent but the government needs to also figure out where to invest
[42:21]on it spendings invest on education invest on health invest on eradicating
[42:27]poverty and things will be corrected you see how a mom I
[42:34]never thought of alia salaam managed to eradicate poverty because he fought
[42:37]against that whole system he made sure that there were no loopholes
[42:45]where people can avoid their taxes you have to pay taxes if
[42:48]you're wealthy you have to pay your taxes that's one - once
[42:53]he receives these taxes he made sure that they're invested back on
[42:58]people he did not invest five hundred billion dollars on military spending
[43:07]that was not necessary his army consisted of ordinary men people who
[43:15]used to be Baker's barbers farmers builders that was army but when
[43:21]the time comes for them to fight they pick up the sword
[43:25]and they go to fight once the war was over they go
[43:27]back to doing their business you don't need a huge capital to
[43:33]invest on a military because the military comes from the ordinary people
[43:37]only when they were fighting that's when the state would have to
[43:41]take care of their families and their children so he made sure
[43:46]that the money is invested back on the people three he fought
[43:51]corruption for he made sure that the investments are made wisely no
[43:59]favors these are at the bunk the ways that Imam Ali of
[44:07]Nepali Valley Salaam managed to fight poverty I wish there would be
[44:13]some people who would actually invest time in studying a PhD thesis
[44:16]about the system of imam ali IBN ABI talib and eradicating poverty
[44:20]and presenting it to the World Health Organization to the United Nations
[44:30]to the World Economic Forum and presenting them with these ideas here
[44:36]there these are plausible solutions as how we can fight against poverty
[44:42]if you reduce poverty then that would automatically reduce terrorism because then
[44:48]you have a lot more educated people you have me people with
[44:52]better knowledge better understanding and hence that wood or you know automatically
[44:58]lead to a peaceful world all that was taught to us by
[45:04]Imam Ali of Napa Valley Valley has Scylla but unfortunately we don't
[45:07]appreciate it and we never invested enough time to study it so
[45:12]if we follow the system of Imam Ali of Nevada we can
[45:19]eradicate world poverty we can bring justice we can bring peace and
[45:23]then there will be left this minority group who will always want
[45:28]to cause problems and instead of spending 1.7 trillion dollars on war
[45:34]we may have to spend a fraction of that amount just to
[45:38]control that little fraction group then you will increase the education you'll
[45:45]help the people sustain the people one day he was walking on
[45:49]the streets of Kufa he finds a beggar someone who's begging on
[45:56]the street his question was what is this they told him yeah
[46:01]Imam Ali Amir al-mumineen he is a Christian man he's not a
[46:04]Muslim he used to work but now that he's grown older you
[46:08]know he doesn't have a job so that's why he's begging on
[46:11]the street he says you guys worked with him when he was
[46:16]young and had the energy and now that he's older you let
[46:18]him beg on the streets that doesn't happen in my state and
[46:22]he turns to his Minister of Finance we may call that Secretary
[46:25]of Finance and he tells him you immediately find him a house
[46:32]and you assign him the monthly salary that was suffice him and
[46:37]his family and notice imam ali salaam did not ask who is
[46:41]this that was the answer he was given he is a christian
[46:45]man but he didn't ask who is this his question was what
[46:48]is this in other words what is this phenomena why do I
[46:54]see a beggar on the street that is something strange that is
[46:57]not something common it's something unique which suggests there were no beggars
[47:03]at the time of Imam Ali o venerable pilot no people who
[47:08]are in poverty and when he notices something that looked different it
[47:13]was not something used you know he was used to so he
[47:18]immediately dealt with it he dealt with people justly fairly kindly mercifully
[47:26]and one group of people that he really looked after where the
[47:35]orphans orphans they don't have a father to look after them that's
[47:38]why my brothers and sisters if you guys can sponsor orphans go
[47:41]ahead and do so the time of edentia light is coming pretty
[47:45]soon many of us alhamdulillah we are blessed with parents who can
[47:49]buy us some gifts on the time of aid they present us
[47:55]with some presents and we celebrate with them but there are millions
[47:58]of children out there unfortunately have lost their parents or have lost
[48:01]their father and they don't have anyone to bring them nice clothings
[48:04]they see people celebrating but they don't have which is very painful
[48:13]god forbid but try to put yourself in their shoes imagine you
[48:16]see other people there wearing nice clothes or celebrating and you can't
[48:21]afford it and you're still wearing your old clothes if you can
[48:29]help send them a basket Eid present eight gifts try to sponsor
[48:33]them even when he was on his deathbed he told imam hassan
[48:37]imam hussain ali him s-salam Allah Allah will I Tom take care
[48:42]of the orphans and this message was not for imam hassan imam
[48:45]them suppose was for us mom has an imam hussain IM salaam
[48:49]they don't need to be reminded to take care of the orphans
[48:51]we do so when he was truck salam ala hele by the
[49:01]sword of abdul hamid animaljam and he was brought to his house
[49:13]the orphans of the city of Kufa learned that their protector their
[49:22]helper their supporter has been hurt so they gather around his house
[49:30]they gather around his door and they start crying where is our
[49:34]father that's what they used to call him father because he was
[49:39]like a father figure to them he would come to them as
[49:41]I mentioned last night in one of the stories where he would
[49:47]come and feed them himself with his own hands he would play
[49:50]with them he would take care of them he would feed them
[49:55]he would look after them so they felt that he is just
[49:57]like their father so they gathered around his house crying where is
[50:04]our father mom and Hassan Salameh Mihaly came out he sees all
[50:10]these orphans gathered around his house and he cries and he says
[50:15]go pray for Amir 1 million salam ala ali go make duaa
[50:22]that may Allah cure him he's in pain the sword of Abdul
[50:27]Rahman animaljam that struck Imam Ali Abu Dhabi I believe was kept
[50:31]poisoned with a very severe poison so imam al hasan an imam
[50:43]al-hussein alayhim as-salam bring a doctor and they tell him can you
[50:49]examine our father Ameer al-mumineen salam ala ala the doctor takes a
[50:57]specific vein from the kidney of a sheep he takes this vein
[51:05]and he inserts it into the wound of amirul mumineen alehissalaam then
[51:08]he picks it up he looks at it and he starts crying
[51:15]they tell him what is the matter he turns to Imam Ali
[51:20]alehissalaam and he says yeah Amir al-mumineen Hideki what I'll say was
[51:25]say attack for another but AHA the lion was Allah Allah omer
[51:30]asik says yeah Amir al-mumineen make you will whatever you wish to
[51:37]say to your family go ahead and say it bid your farewell
[51:40]to them the poison has gone too deep into your body you're
[51:48]not gonna survive this one when Imam has sent an imam and
[51:53]her saying heard this they started crying and when the doctor left
[51:56]zeyneb alaihe salam came into the room along with his with her
[52:02]sister oma Kalume and they both started weeping a wa abbot ah
[52:06]a wali uh who will look after us my father who will
[52:13]look after the children who will look after the orphans he looked
[52:18]at them and he says my dear children do not cry I'm
[52:25]going to a better place I'm going to join your grandfather rasulullah
[52:32]sallallahu alayhi wa da fatima alayhim as-salam I've invested all these years
[52:40]in pain I lived in pain but now I'm gonna go to
[52:46]Jenna insha Allah I'm going to Paradise where I'll be relaxing one
[52:50]of the Companions of Imam Ali o be a pile of alehissalaam
[52:53]was sitting behind the door when he hear the cries he also
[53:00]started crying imam al hassan came out and said why are you
[53:03]sitting here he said O son of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa ala
[53:09]please forgive me but I could not leave until I see my
[53:11]master I mean many in salam ala ala he says okay let
[53:16]me make way for you imam al hassan goes inside a little
[53:21]while later comes out and says come in he goes in he
[53:23]sees imam ali nabil olive he says I saw his face so
[53:25]pale so yellow I told him yeah Amir al-mumineen can I see
[53:33]your wound I said yes he showed me his wound he said
[53:37]yeah Amir al-mumineen inshallah you'll survive this one you fought in major
[53:43]battles you're like the hero of every war that you fought in
[53:50]this is just a minor wound he said no it's not he
[53:52]said soon I'll be leaving you and I'll be joining my beloved
[54:00]rasulallah salallahu alayhe wa ala i'm going from this world so the
[54:06]companion started crying the children started crying then he left in a
[54:11]little while later as imam ali IBN ABI talib was on his
[54:17]deathbed Zainab alehissalaam auxin she says yeah amir al-mu'minin i want to
[54:23]ask you a question but i know you're in a difficult state
[54:27]right now he says go ahead my beloved daughter what question do
[54:31]you want to ask she said I heard the wife of a
[54:37]soul allah sallallahu alayhi wa ala omo Amon saying a tradition that
[54:41]she heard from rasulallah salallahu alaihe wa al the minute he heard
[54:49]this he cried he said what did you hear her saying what
[54:53]did she hear from rasulallah salallahu alayhi wa sallam la la la
[55:02]la Orana says that on the day of ashura imam al-hussein will
[55:07]be all alone in Karbala and he will be killed in Karbala
[55:11]I uh is that true my father I want to ask you
[55:15]is that true Amana me want me to cried and he said
[55:19]yes mind my beloved daughter zeyneb that is true your brother Hussain
[55:25]one day will be all alone in Karbala I will not be
[55:31]there his brother Imam Hassan will not be there no one will
[55:33]be with him but you will be with him Yas zeyneb she
[55:38]said I'm gonna be with him he said yes Yazzie you will
[55:40]be with him then what's going to happen to me I'm evil
[55:45]minion then cried even further and he said yeah as a nub
[55:49]you will become a prisoner for Benny umeå Hussain will be killed
[55:55]your brother Abbas will be killed you will be all alone with
[55:58]no helper and no supporter and no protector except allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala
[56:04]she said what else my father tell me prepare me he then
[56:09]cried and he said my love my daughter is a nub you
[56:15]know how you are now in Kufa you got to come back
[56:16]to the city of Kufa again will I yes my PS my
[56:22]dear zeyneb because you will be in Karbala they will take you
