[0:09][Music] foreign foreign there is no one that can say i am
[2:04]perfect i do not have mistakes i am errorless yes we have
[2:09]the mason we have the 14 infallibles and we have the prophets
[2:16]but other than the masomeen and the prophets the imams no one
[2:22]can say i am perfect i am flawless i don't have mistakes
[2:27]everyone has committed mistakes at some point in their lives everyone has
[2:32]committed some sort of errors at some point in their lives everyone
[2:40]has done mistakes that they are not proud of in the past
[2:45]that they are not proud of many people have a past but
[2:51]it varies from person to person some people have a very horrible
[2:56]past others have an average past and others have made minor mistakes
[3:03]but generally speaking there's many people with a past they are righteous
[3:09]now they are good they're good people now they're god fearing they're
[3:16]righteous now they don't have the mistakes that they used to but
[3:23]they have a past they've committed mistakes in the past and now
[3:32]their past is haunting them now they can't move forward they remember
[3:39]their past with pain with anguish with remorse and regret and they
[3:46]live with nightmares of their past and they allow their past to
[3:55]affect and influence their present and their future they're they're allowing their
[4:02]past to destroy their their present and their future it becomes a
[4:12]complex for them their past it becomes a complex they can't get
[4:17]over it they can't get over the mistakes that they've done in
[4:19]the past it's taken a a heavy toll on them to the
[4:25]point that it paralyzes them it affects their lives their relationships their
[4:35]business their friendships their marriage their relationship with their children it all
[4:42]is affected why because they allow their past to affect their present
[4:48]and it could affect their future now it's regardless of what a
[4:56]person has done in the past there's a lot of people that
[5:01]have committed mistakes they that have done things that they shouldn't have
[5:05]done now they're not very proud of what they've done they've done
[5:09]things they're not very proud of perhaps they were in a relationship
[5:15]that is forbidden in faith and in religion they were in a
[5:21]haram sort of relationship and they knew that they shouldn't have been
[5:24]but they did maybe more than one relationship over a certain amount
[5:30]of years over a certain amount of over a certain period of
[5:35]time maybe they did things that they were not supposed to maybe
[5:40]they they engaged in because of this relationship maybe they engaged in
[5:47]acts and behaviors that were forbidden that are haram maybe it was
[5:53]even worse than that maybe some got pregnant or they got someone
[5:57]to be pregnant maybe they were forced to have an abortion and
[6:03]abort the fetus maybe there are some that use drugs in the
[6:11]past or used alcohol in the past or maybe were even addicted
[6:16]to one or both there are some in the past they took
[6:21]money that didn't belong to them they borrowed money and they never
[6:28]returned they i don't like to use the weird the word stole
[6:32]but it is stealing when you take people's money without their permission
[6:37]with any sort of justification you take it as a loan or
[6:42]you take it in the name of partnership in a business and
[6:45]you take what does not belong to you there's people with all
[6:51]kinds of pasts there are some that were into gangs and were
[6:56]involved in in gang violence there were some that were involved in
[7:00]fights maybe there are some that went to jail in their past
[7:04]or engaged in in corruption they were in a political position and
[7:11]they misused that position they misused they misused the money that was
[7:16]under their control most people have passed a lot of people have
[7:24]passed why because that is human nature human nature humans are not
[7:27]errorless they're not infallible except the exceptions that we mentioned prophets and
[7:34]imams everyone else everyone has a past everyone's committed mistakes everyone has
[7:39]done mistakes that they're not proud of and and when they remember
[7:45]their past mistakes it brings them pain and anguish it brings them
[7:48]stress and anxiety and anxiety it could even be destroying their lives
[7:53]at the moment it could be destroying their relationships it could be
[8:00]destroying the life of their children thinking that their children will commit
[8:04]the mistakes that they committed when they were their age and so
[8:08]forth this is a problem when your past begins to haunt your
[8:13]present and begins to haunt your future when you allow your past
[8:17]to destroy your your present and your future this is a problem
[8:22]is it possible that a person can overcome their past and move
[8:32]forward to a brighter future and to improve their present is it
[8:39]possible to deal with a very negative past to build a brighter
[8:45]future absolutely this is possible not only is it possible but it's
[8:53]been done by millions of people and today we will walk through
[8:56]this journey of how a person who is righteous today can overcome
[9:03]the mistakes of the past and how can this person move forward
[9:08]to a better future inshallah first of all my dear friends let
[9:15]us remember a very very important point and this is something that
[9:20]we should never forget and that is that allah azzawajal is all
[9:23]merciful allah is all forgiving there's not a sin that allah doesn't
[9:30]forgive from our past any sin that we've committed out of ignorance
[9:37]or out of being tricked by the shaitaan or being tricked by
[9:45]our nafs we allow desire to take over us we allow temptation
[9:51]to fool us and we committed mistakes and now we are truly
[9:57]remorseful now we truly regret we regret that past we like to
[10:01]run away from that past we're embarrassed of what we did or
[10:09]who we were or what sort of past we had we're ashamed
[10:12]of it we're embarrassed of it we'd like to change it but
[10:18]we can't because you cannot erase the past remember that allah azzawajal
[10:23]is all forgiving allah accepts our repentance if we truly repent sincerely
[10:29]and we are truly remorseful allah will forgive us in fact feeling
[10:35]remorseful in itself is seeking forgiveness it's a form of repentance he
[11:00]if feeling remorseful for sins that we've committed is repentance then i
[11:10]by your grace i feel remorseful for what i've done i feel
[11:14]regretful for what i've done of course imam zayn abedin is errorless
[11:17]he's sinless but he's teaching us he's teaching us how to overcome
[11:26]a past and to look forward to a future he's not saying
[11:29]this for himself he's saying this for his companions for his followers
[11:35]for his lovers those who follow his school of thought forgives my
[11:41]dear friends no matter what we've committed in the past any sort
[11:46]of sin any sort of mistake that we've committed in the past
[11:51]if we are remorseful and we work regretful and we repent to
[11:55]allah and we want to start new allah will start fresh with
[12:01]us allah will open a new page with us allah is ready
[12:04]allah is willing to start fresh with us if we are willing
[12:09]to start fresh if we are willing to start a new chapter
[12:11]in our lives and overcome our past mistakes and make amends for
[12:18]our past mistakes allah will start fresh with us allah will forgive
[12:22]in tell s servants those who those who went after temptation those
[12:48]who went after sin those who indulged in sins do not be
[12:57]despair of god's mercy do not lose hope in the mercy of
[13:04]allah forgives all sins all sins don't say i've committed a sin
[13:10]that allah will never forgive me i was in a haram relationship
[13:15]i did this i i got pregnant i had an abortion i
[13:19]did drugs i did alcohol i i was part of a gang
[13:25]i allah forgives all sins if you come clean if you come
[13:29]clean and you admit to allah your fault if we i speak
[13:34]in in plural if we come clean and we admit to allah
[13:37]our faults and our sins and our past mistakes allah will start
[13:41]fresh with us allah will forgive then emphasizes he is the all-merciful
[13:52]he is the all-forgiving in a in another verse allah says is
[14:15]the one who forgives zafar is the one who continuously forgives allah
[14:23]is not just one of the 99 names of allah but allah
[14:29]has also meaning he will not just forgive us once but twice
[14:33]three times four times every time we committed sin and we repent
[14:39]to him and we seek forgiveness sincerely remorsefully we're not joking we're
[14:46]not it's it's not theatrical it's we're not putting up a uh
[14:51]theatrical moment but we are sincere allah forgives i am all for
[15:01]giving i am continuously forgiving to those who believe and do good
[15:10]those who repent and those who believe in those who good deeds
[15:16]who are guided allah continuously forgives he doesn't just forgive us wants
[15:24]we commit a mistake we seek forgiveness you'll forgive us commit another
[15:29]mistake truly seek forgiveness and he forgives he keeps on forgiving he
[15:32]keeps on forgiving this is the merciful lord that we have when
[15:37]you have a lord like this how can you despair how can
[15:39]you say that my past will destroy me and i have no
[15:44]future i have no present and i have no future you can
[15:48]say this if you did not have a merciful god if you'd
[15:51]ne if you did not have a continuously forgiving about god but
[15:55]when we have allah azza who is all merciful we have all
[16:01]hope in his mercy in another verse allah says of those who
[16:15]believe they come to you those who believe in our signs they
[16:19]come to you meaning they come to seek forgiveness to start fresh
[16:23]they come for guidance tell them peace be upon you allah has
[16:27]written upon himself has made it mandatory upon himself to be merciful
[16:35]he made it binding upon himself mandatory upon himself to forgive when
[16:42]we have a merciful lord like this that he's made it mandatory
[16:45]upon himself to forgive to look away to start fresh to forgive
[16:56]our sins how can we have the spirit is not necessarily ignorance
[17:21]but out of uh shallow mindedness out of of forgetfulness out of
[17:28]ignorance out of not paying attention out of not and not concentrating
[17:40]and then he repents after that and fixes fixes the problem allah
[17:48]shall be all merciful of course there's a very important point and
[17:52]that is if we committed there's two types of sins one type
[17:55]of sin if we committed sins that is only between me and
[18:01]allah azzawajal i didn't affect anyone else allah can forgive and allah
[18:07]will forgive and allah has promised to forgive you committed a sin
[18:11]it's between you and allah you didn't hurt anyone else but there
[18:15]are another type of sin where it's not just between you and
[18:20]allah but you hurt people you affected them you verbally hurt someone
[18:24]you physically hurt someone you took someone's money you're injured someone you
[18:29]backbite it against someone here that person has to forgive you as
[18:34]well not just allah but that first that person also has to
[18:39]forgive you or forfeit the right and forgive you then allah will
[18:46]forgive so here was means they fix their problems come clean to
[18:50]allah seek forgiveness and fix your problem go and do what you
[18:56]have to do go and do what you have to do you
[18:59]you in the past you didn't pray now come and pray in
[19:01]the past you didn't fast coming fast you didn't pay homs now
[19:06]you can pay homes if you violated people's rights a few violated
[19:11]people's freedom if you hurt people go and fix your problem with
[19:14]with others let them be satisfied let them forgive you and then
[19:17]come clean to allah allah will start a new page with you
[19:22]in sha allah so many verses if we read the quran from
[19:28]beginning to to end we will discover that allah is all merciful
[19:30]there's not a sin that allah doesn't forgive every day every day
[19:36]how many times a day do we do we say bismillah allah
[19:40]has 99 names yet he chose for us to repeat this day
[19:45]in and day out the all-merciful the all-compassionate allah has many names
[19:53]allah could have chosen other attributes for us to repeat every day
[19:57]but he chose these so this is the first step towards overcoming
[20:03]a difficult past a negative past a bad past is to make
[20:09]amends with allah as to repent to allah and seek forgiveness and
[20:14]allah will forgive inshallah this is the first step this is a
[20:18]cornerstone the second step my dear friends is that we forgive ourselves
[20:23]we forgive ourselves if allah can forgive us can we not forgive
[20:32]ourselves there are some that live they're tormented over what they've done
[20:36]in the past whatever it is that they've done they live in
[20:41]they live in torment they're tormented they're tortured they have stress they
[20:48]have anxiety of what they've done in the past they keep punishing
[20:51]themselves for their past mistakes now it is time once you've sought
[20:59]forgiveness from allah it is time to forgive yourself and to move
[21:08]on there are some that cannot live they live with negative thoughts
[21:13]day in and day out from morning till night they have negative
[21:17]thoughts of what they've done in the past and they feel that
[21:19]their pa their past is haunting them and their past can destroy
[21:22]them the past mistakes that they've done it is destroying them that's
[21:30]destroying their lives these negative thoughts that is that are paralyzing them
[21:35]that are not allowing them to move forward enter the and to
[21:41]live their life to the fullest and to enjoy their life these
[21:44]these thoughts need to be blocked away you need to move on
[21:48]you need to live your life you need to enjoy your life
[21:52]you need to enjoy your family your friends what you have in
[21:58]this life enjoy it move on move on if allah azzawajal could
[22:04]forgive you forgive yourself as well you are not the only sinner
[22:08]on this planet you are not the only person that committed a
[22:12]sin or a crime or as they passed everyone has a past
[22:16]if you've committed a mistake in the past others have committed mistakes
[22:20]in the past if you've done things that you're not proud of
[22:24]everyone has done things that they are not proud of it's relative
[22:29]it varies from from person to person but we all have mistakes
[22:32]every person has done something in the past that they're not proud
[22:35]of we are humans to human to be human is to be
[22:41]as as to is to have errors as to have sins is
[22:47]to have mistakes that is what being a human being is all
[22:53]about that you're not perfect although you're not perfect but you try
[22:58]to improve that is the essence of of being a human being
[23:01]that you you have mistakes but you can still move on and
[23:05]you start fresh and you make amends and you repent and you
[23:11]seek forgiveness and you move forward you need to stop the stress
[23:14]you need to stop the anxiety you need to stop the depression
[23:20]yes embrace your past acknowledge acknowledge the past do not deny it
[23:28]do not deny it to yourself not others do not deny it
[23:32]to yourself embrace your past embrace your mistakes but now move forward
[23:40]recognize that you're not perfect recognize that you've committed mistakes recognize it
[23:46]admit it embrace the past but now move forward move on start
[23:51]a new chapter in your life begin fresh and new with allah
[23:56]azzawajal he who repents from his sin it's as if he never
[24:03]had it i sit in the in the first place so if
[24:07]allah is starting is willing to start fresh with you be willing
[24:12]to start fresh with yourself give yourself a chance don't be so
[24:18]hard and harsh on yourself give yourself a chance to move forward
[24:24]to make amends and to fix the mistakes of the past no
[24:29]one is perfect we all commit mistakes so if others commit mistakes
[24:37]so have you this doesn't mean you should take your mistake slightly
[24:41]this doesn't mean that you should take your sins lightly no embrace
[24:45]those mistakes admit to them recognize your mistakes seek forgiveness for them
[24:51]but then also forgive yourself and move on there's a journey ahead
[24:56]of you you have a future ahead of you there's a future
[24:59]for yourself for your family for your children don't let your past
[25:05]ruin your present and ruin your future instead of stressing over your
[25:14]past instead of having anxiety over your past instead of getting depressed
[25:17]over your your past on your past mistakes learn from them let's
[25:23]learn from our mistakes there's no point of feeling stress and anxiety
[25:28]over the past and doing nothing about it no learn from the
[25:34]past instead of feeling stressful learn if you had friends that made
[25:41]you commit mistakes in the past you had bad friends due to
[25:46]peer pressure or for any any reason your friends are the ones
[25:50]that caused you to perform mistakes and got you entice you to
[25:55]to try something new whether it's a relationship or a drug or
[26:00]alcohol or what did it whatever it was that you did in
[26:02]the past now you have to be careful you have to learn
[26:06]from your past you have to be careful of who you befriend
[26:08]who's your friend and who's your enemy you have to learn from
[26:14]the past be careful of who you trust the person you entrusted
[26:18]in the past that got you to commit mistakes that guide you
[26:23]to commit sins and now you're remorseful now you have to be
[26:26]careful of who you befriend who you trust if in the past
[26:31]you're in a relationship that angered allah it was a haram relationship
[26:37]that that led and it was one mistake that led to several
[26:39]mistakes now you have to be careful of your relationships what sort
[26:43]of relationship are you in now is it a relationship that satisfies
[26:49]allah or that satisfies shaytaan is it a relationship that can lead
[26:55]to other mistakes is it a a mistake that that can lead
[27:01]to other mistakes or are you in a relationship that has a
[27:04]bright future that can lead to marriage that can lead to building
[27:10]a family are you in a business that satisfies allah now or
[27:15]are you in a business that is similar to the bad to
[27:19]the past that angered allah you were committing sins you were making
[27:23]money from unlawful means ungodly means now you have to be careful
[27:32]now that you want to start fresh and overcome your past you
[27:35]have to start fresh and you have to learn from your mistakes
[27:40]you have to be very careful now all of us and i
[27:45]speak for myself we cannot be naive we have to monitor ourselves
[27:47]so that we don't fall in the same mistakes as we did
[27:53]in the past we shouldn't look for temporary pleasures or follow temporary
[27:58]whims we have to be very careful what was the mistake that
[28:03]we committed in the past today we have to monitor ourselves and
[28:06]monitor our nafs monitor our thoughts completely so that we learn from
[28:14]our mistakes what was it what was our weakness was it drugs
[28:20]was it the opposite gender was it alcohol was it money was
[28:24]it violence today we have to monitor ourselves very carefully so that
[28:27]we do not fall in the same traps again swallowing the same
[28:31]mistakes again this is very important also my dear friends in order
[28:40]to overcome a past a difficult past and move toward a bright
[28:46]future there are some things that are best to be kept in
[28:51]the past and not to be shared with anyone in the present
[28:53]nor in the future there are some there are some secrets that
[29:00]have to remain with you and they die with you and they
[29:07]be taken to the grave with you you don't have to share
[29:10]your secrets with everyone today you have a friend that you feel
[29:12]you can trust you share your deepest secrets from the past if
[29:18]you've done mistakes in the past these are secrets that no one
[29:22]knows about you entrust a friend or you casually tell a friend
[29:25]this is a mistake today this person is your friend tomorrow that
[29:28]person can be your enemy be careful of who you share your
[29:34]secrets with you don't need to tell people stories of your past
[29:41]you don't need to tell them incidents and stories of your past
[29:45]to others just like you have a past the person that you're
[29:48]telling also has a past he's a person just like you she's
[29:55]a human being just like you if you have committed sins in
[29:59]the past that person has also committed sin sins in the past
[30:02]you don't need to tell anyone keep your secrets with you it
[30:05]is best to keep what you've done in the past in the
[30:09]past and don't share them in the present don't share them in
[30:11]the future because some people can be very harsh some people can
[30:17]can be very merciless and they share your secrets with others some
[30:22]people have the love for gossip the love to back by as
[30:26]soon as they discover a secret they have this uh pleasure of
[30:31]wanting to share other people's secrets they don't share their own secrets
[30:35]with others because it affects their reputation it affects who they are
[30:41]it affects their family it could affect their future but they love
[30:44]to share secrets of others with others so you have to be
[30:52]very careful of who you trust sometimes when you tell people your
[30:58]your secret if one person knows there's a potential of 100 people
[31:01]knowing you have to be yeah you have to be very careful
[31:04]as soon as one person knows your secret that means a hundred
[31:08]people could know your secret be careful of who you trust of
[31:11]who you tell your secrets to and it is best not to
[31:15]share your secrets with anyone from the past share your secrets with
[31:20]allah azza the only one you should admit to and speak to
[31:24]and share your secrets with is allah tell allah about your past
[31:28]let us tell allah about our mistakes in the past allah is
[31:33]all attentive all hearing allah will listen to us and by sharing
[31:40]with him our secrets secretly with allah and by admitting to him
[31:44]our fault we will feel better and allah azzawajal he will listen
[31:48]attentively and then forgive us and start fresh with us tell whatever
[31:54]you want to allah that is why we have salah that is
[31:59]why we have dua that is why we have salah to lay
[32:00]so that we may speak to allah in the most intimate manners
[32:04]share with him our secrets is not just for saints it's also
[32:11]for sinners it's also an opportunity for some to start fresh with
[32:15]allah start with salah in the last [Music] confessed admit to him
[32:23]what you've done in the past you don't you don't need to
[32:27]tell any human being you don't need to tell anyone else other
[32:30]than allah azza whoever we tell is a sinner himself and herself
[32:36]through salah through dura through quran through we speak to allah and
[32:43]we share our secrets to him and only him on a similar
[32:49]note i must say here that we have to be careful of
[32:54]what we do with people's secrets if you are someone that was
[32:57]entrusted by someone and given a secret don't break someone's trust if
[33:08]someone ever entrusted you with the secret don't break their trust don't
[33:11]go out and exposing people secrets telling people what you heard about
[33:16]this person or that person or even if you were not entrusted
[33:21]but you heard a rumor or you saw with your own eyes
[33:24]or you read somewhere or you saw something which is a secret
[33:29]that others don't know about don't go around exposing people's secrets and
[33:34]people's mistakes and people's past because what goes around comes around it's
[33:40]like a ball you throw a ball and it will immediately come
[33:44]back at you if you expose people secrets don't think that your
[33:51]secrets will not be exposed no the same thing that you do
[33:56]unto others and when what you wish for others i will come
[34:00]back to you the hadith says he who exposes the secrets of
[34:15]homes and families the secrets of his home and his family his
[34:22]personal secrets her personal secrets will be exposed you think that when
[34:26]you sit and you backbite and you gossip and you spread rumors
[34:29]about someone who did something secretively but you saw you caught them
[34:34]you saw them you have this knowledge does this give you the
[34:38]right to share this knowledge with others to share this information the
[34:43]sensitive information that can damage people's reputations it could be it could
[34:49]damage people's lives it could end people's marriages it could destroy their
[34:54]businesses it could destroy their lives it could take a toll on
[34:58]their families and on their children you come and easily expose their
[35:03]secrets just as just like you would drink water it's as simple
[35:07]as drinking water you come and expose people secrets this is wrong
[35:10]this is wrong there are some people they cannot control themselves they
[35:15]have this they have this immense desire to gossip to share people's
[35:23]secrets as soon as they see friends they tell them did you
[35:25]hear what this what this person did did you hear who got
[35:29]a divorce did you hear who was cheating on his wife did
[35:31]you hear who's doing drugs did you hear what happened here what
[35:36]happened there and they expose people's faults not rem not remembering that
[35:41]they have faults of their own they have sins of their own
[35:43]they have mistakes of their own the same way that they are
[35:49]exposing others now tomorrow they will be exposed these people have to
[35:53]think you have to think very carefully and stop this habit this
[35:57]dirty habit that even exists among religious people those who pray and
[36:02]fast and go to ziara and go to hajj in umrah yet
[36:08]they expose people's sins and they expose people's mistakes something very very
[36:14]important to overcome a difficult and negative past is that you should
[36:20]ignore people's words and people's opinions there will be people speaking about
[36:28]you especially if you become righteous if especially if you start fresh
[36:32]and you start new there are some people unfortunately who have a
[36:36]spiritual disease they have a spiritual illness they will want to come
[36:42]and remind you of your past remember the days that you would
[36:46]do such and such or for example today you're wearing hijab but
[36:50]in the past you didn't wear hijab you're in a relationship you
[36:52]did this you did that there are some people who want to
[36:57]put you down who want to remind you of your past ignore
[37:00]them block such people out of your lives ignore what they say
[37:05]are they errorless are they infallible do they not have mistakes of
[37:09]their own do they not have sins of their own do they
[37:14]not have pass of their arm why should you care about what
[37:17]they are saying to you what what they are saying about you
[37:20]and about your past the important thing is that you started new
[37:27]you've repented to allah you gave up on those sins you gave
[37:32]up on those mistakes the past is in the past and now
[37:36]you're building a you're present and you're building a future for yourself
[37:40]you started fresh with allah azza allah has forgiven you and you
[37:46]have forgiven yourself nothing else matters people can speak all they want
[37:50]they could say whatever you want there's no embarrassment in that if
[37:54]you've repented to allah and you've started fresh there's no embarrassment there's
[37:58]nothing to be ashamed they should be ashamed of themselves they should
[38:03]be embarrassed of themselves for exposing people's sacred for reminding you of
[38:09]your past for trying to put you down for trying to ruin
[38:11]your relationship they are the ones that need to be embarrassed they
[38:15]are the ones that need to be ashamed of themselves not you
[38:19]block people block negative people those who try to remind you of
[38:23]your past those who try to ruin your relation ruin your reputation
[38:28]those who try to destroy your lives today by reminding you by
[38:32]reminding you of your past or spreading rumors about you of your
[38:37]past block them block them ignore them and remember that they have
[38:41]faults of their own they have mistakes of their own and leave
[38:46]them to allah leave them to allah you can't do anything about
[38:48]it you can't stoop to their level these people even if they
[38:53]pretend to be religious they're not religious someone who goes around speaking
[38:57]about people's past especially someone who's corrected himself or herself and is
[39:04]starting fresh there are some that want to remind them of their
[39:06]past allah will take care of them leave them to allah leave
[39:10]them to allah leave it to allah allah will know how to
[39:15]deal with such individuals with with hearts full of spiritual illnesses and
[39:21]problems and diseases a person who is full of envy and jealousy
[39:26]and has a whole list of spiritual illnesses and problems keep it
[39:31]to allah for allah to take care of them who are they
[39:35]to judge you who are they to judge you are they infallible
[39:39]themselves do they not have past themselves my dear friends we can
[39:47]all overcome a past no matter how negative the past is we
[39:52]can overcome it's never too late don't ever think that it's too
[39:58]late you can't start fresh you can't neglect the past the past
[40:03]is haunting you even if you do good today even if you
[40:08]pray and fast and go to hydrogen you wear hijab and you
[40:12]give homes and all of that but you cannot eradicate the past
[40:14]no you can my dear friends it's never too late you can
[40:17]always overcome the past you can always start fresh with allah and
[40:23]what happened in the past happened it stays in the past and
[40:28]allah will give a blind eye to the past allah will not
[40:30]look at the past you look at the present what have you
[40:35]done in the present have we sought forgiveness for what we have
[40:38]done in the past but in the present the sins in the
[40:42]past need to be sought forgiveness for in the present it is
[40:45]very much possible a man came to rasulullah a grave sin i
[40:58]cannot speak of he said is your sin greater than the earth
[41:03]he said it is greater is your sin greater than the skies
[41:05]he said it is greater he said is your sin greater than
[41:09]the mercy of allah he said no the mercy of allah is
[41:12]greater than everything else he said what is your sin he said
[41:18]my job is to dig people's graves and steal their kefen their
[41:25]shroud one day a young woman was dying she sent me a
[41:29]message to come and see her i went and saw her i
[41:31]saw her on her deathbed she put several shrouds in front of
[41:36]me she said take as many as you want but do not
[41:37]come to my grave and do not expose me in my grave
[41:42]do not steal did not steal my grave and do not steal
[41:43]my shrouds for me my grave so i promised her i wouldn't
[41:49]but the day she died shaytan came to me my nephs tormented
[41:55]me i went to her grave and i dug her grave and
[41:57]i stole her shroud and then when i exposed her in her
[42:03]grave i committed a heinous crime a very grave sin and now
[42:08]i am feeling tormented and now i don't know what to do
[42:12]i am sure that allah will not forgive me leave the mosque
[42:20]and leave the city we don't want allah will punish you and
[42:25]punish us with you wanted to teach him a lesson the man
[42:27]went into the mountains for over 40 days he didn't eat he
[42:33]didn't drink he became he turned into skin and bones until jabra
[42:38]came to rasulullah and he told him allah says go and tell
[42:46]this person that allah has forgiven him allah has forgiven his mistake
[42:51]rasool allah goes with his companions to the mountain he sees this
[42:54]young man and he tells them that allah has forgiven you if
[42:59]allah can forgive such an individual then what have you done that
[43:04]allah will not forgive the the story of bish bish was a
[43:10]rich affluent person during the time of imam musaffar in baghdad who
[43:16]had a palace and he'd have parties with drinking with music with
[43:22]dancing one day musafa was walking in the alleyways of baghdad he
[43:27]passed by the house of bish the sound of music the smell
[43:31]of alcohol was coming from the house the servant at the door
[43:36]he asked he said who's the owner of this house he said
[43:43]go and ask the owner of the house is he a free
[43:49]man or is he a slave he went and he asked the
[43:52]man of the house his name is bish he told him there's
[43:54]a a person outside he's asking are you a free man or
[43:59]a slave he said what kind of question is this of course
[44:01]i'm free i'm not a slave how can a slave own what
[44:06]i own so he came the servant came to imam musa for
[44:10]standing outside he said the owner of the house says i am
[44:12]free i am not a slave.
[44:16]he said yes he is right because if he was a slave
[44:20]if he was a true slave he would not disobey his master
[44:23]he would not disobey his master go tell him that the servant
[44:30]comes and he tells bish that the gentleman outside he says yes
[44:33]you are a free man because if you were a true slave
[44:36]you would not disobey your master this man was was shook he
[44:42]was shaken by the words of imam musa foreign he runs out
[44:45]and he starts running after imam muslin after he left he came
[44:52]out barefoot and he came to imam in jaffa and he sought
[44:55]for forgiveness and he repented truly to allah his name is bishop
[44:59]bish the barefoot and he overcame his past until he became a
[45:07]saint his gravesite in baghdad became a memorial there are those who
[45:13]go and visit the grave of bishop and if they have desires
[45:16]and wishes from allah they ask allah for the sake of vish
[45:18]to give their to give them their desires look at a pe
[45:22]at a past like this but what a beautiful future he had
[45:27]he was able to overcome his past and in karbala on his
[45:39]way to kufa he stopped him in the middle of the desert
[45:41]and he did not allow imam hussain to continue in his journey
[45:49]on the day of was standing in the middle of the battleground
[45:54]on the day of on his horse he would look to the
[46:00]right the camp of imam hussain and he would look left to
[46:03]the camp of abe did and he looked confused one of his
[46:07]comrades he told him if i was asked who is the bravest
[46:14]man in kufa i would say it's you but i see you
[46:20]now without courage without bravery i see that you are scared and
[46:24]said indeed i am scared because i see myself making a decision
[46:27]between heaven and hell and by god i will not choose anything
[46:32]over heaven he went towards the camp of imam hussain you reached
[46:46]the tenth of imam hussain and he said assalamu alaikum imam al-imam
[46:53]replied back i am the one that caused you to come to
[47:13]this desert i am the one that frightened the hearts of the
[47:18]daughters of rasulullah foreign do you think that allah can forgive me
[47:25]can i perform repentance imam hussain tells him if you repent allah
[47:34]will forgive you come and sit with us refuses i was the
[47:46]first person to stand in your face and to raise arms against
[47:52]you allow me to be the first martyr amongst you imam hussain
[47:55]gives him permission to enter the battlefield al-harabini azid enters the battlefield
[48:01]and he recites fights bravely until he is injured and falls to
[48:23]the ground he shouts he sits next to him and he says
[48:42]your mother was not mistaken when she called you a free man
[48:46]you are free you are who you are free and this man
[48:50]in this life and in the hereafter a man like al hor
[48:55]who lived all his life not with ali bait but his final
[48:59]moment with with with was with adil bait look at his future
[49:02]look at his name look at his reputation look at where he
[49:08]ended on the day of ashura this night the night of the
[49:11]sixth of muharram is dedicated to the amsah to the companions of
[49:14]imam for saying allah when he asked his companions that if they
[49:24]want to leave they may leave he said i will turn off
[49:27]the candle and he who wishes to disperse in the middle of
[49:30]the night may do so and feel no remorse when he turned
[49:35]off the candle and he turned it back on he saw that
[49:41]all of his companions remained seated muslim all of them were sitting
[49:51]some of them would say how can we leave you and you
[49:55]will be killed you will be sacrificed and we leave you told
[50:01]them if i were to be killed and cut into pieces and
[50:05]burnt and my ashes to be scattered in the wind and for
[50:10]me to be resurrected again and to be cut into pieces and
[50:14]burnt and my ashes scattered again for this to happen to me
[50:20]70 times i would still stand by your side yeah these were
[50:22]the companions of imam for saying one of them was by the
[50:28]name of wahab wahab had just gotten married he came to karbala
