[0:06]yeah that's good muham muham ald muhamed all [Music] gal k the
[2:58]title of tonight's Le lecture is Silver Linings how to see the
[3:08]light when the world seems dark the term Silver Linings actually comes
[3:16]from a poem that was written by John Milton in 1643 it's
[3:25]an old phrase and over time it became a popular metaphor for
[3:37]optimism and hope and the idea is that Silver Linings refer to
[3:45]the bright edges that surround dark clouds those bright edges that are
[3:54]backlit by the moon or the Sun so Silver Linings is essentially
[4:06]a metaphor that describes the ability of a person to see the
[4:12]positives in negative and difficult situations now the question is what does
[4:18]the Quran tell us about optimism and hope what you see is
[4:28]that the Quran actually places great emphasis on this notion of a
[4:35]Believer being hopeful you know often times when you ask people are
[4:41]you a pessimist or are you an optimist what do people usually
[4:48]say they say sheh I'm not an optimist nor am I a
[4:50]pessimist I am a realist now of course there's nothing wrong with
[4:57]being a realist was a realist importance of having an optimistic Outlook
[5:03]and I think this is a very relevant discussion because let's face
[5:07]it the world is in shambles it's very difficult to look at
[5:14]the world and see the mercy of God in fact in the
[5:21]midst of a genocide many are probably asking where is God now
[5:27]I want to share with you a couple cple of verses of
[5:32]the Quran so we can kind of open up our discussion for
[5:35]tonight you guys are all familiar with Surah yusu Allah subhana wa
[5:44]ta'ala in Surah yusu he shares with us a conversation that takes
[5:52]place between y the father of Yousef and his sons those sons
[6:00]that essentially tried to kill their little brother and this is verse
[6:06]86 so it's really at the end of the Surah you know
[6:10]after all of those trials and tribulations what happens at this juncture
[6:16]of the story is that yakub is now an elderly man and
[6:23]it's been decades since he seen his son yusf the last time
[6:30]that he saw was when he was a little boy so now
[6:35]it's been Decades of separation from his beloved child and to compound
[6:45]the Calamity now Y is blind and to further complicate things there
[6:51]is now a famine in Canan and that's why the brothers are
[6:57]sent to Egypt to go get some Aid to receive some food
[7:04]and they say to the father that let us take bamin with
[7:10]us because if we have more people we will get more support
[7:15]they go and then they come back and bamin is now not
[7:21]with them and now the Quran tells us that now yub is
[7:32]in a situation where okay I lost Yu I'm blind and now
[7:40]I lost another child and I look around my Village and I
[7:46]see nothing but hunger and suffering so what is he saying he
[8:01]says I only complain about my suffering and my grief to Allah
[8:10]this is very important for us to understand complaining to Allah does
[8:22]not negate your optimism complaining to Allah about your suffering it does
[8:30]not negate your patience there's nothing wrong with complaining to Allah in
[8:35]fact that's who you should complain to and then he says he
[8:49]says for years these boys they would tell their father that you
[8:57]keep on mentioning Yu just get over it he's dead he's not
[9:01]alive anymore except the reality he says I know from Allah what
[9:09]you don't know and then what does he say he says in
[9:14]the next Ayah he says go back it's been decades he says
[9:28]go back and search for YF he still has hope search for
[9:34]YF and his brother and then what does he say he says
[9:42]and imagine this is coming from an old blind man who has
[9:48]not seen his son for decades who has just lost another son
[9:52]there's a famine he says don't despair of the relief of Allah
[9:57]don't despair of the mercy of Allah the Imam says verily no
[10:13]one despairs of the mercy of Allah except the meaning is trying
[10:24]to convey that if you really know who Allah is if you
[10:29]know who your lord is you cannot despair Despair and Iman do
[10:34]not mix they're contradictory Concepts yes you can feel sad y felt
[10:45]sad sadness is natural sadness is a natural human emotion sadness is
[10:53]from Allah Allah gave us this ability to feel sadness but despair
[11:01]is from Shan sadness is from Allah but despair is from Shan
[11:08]now the question is how do we cultivate and develop hope how
[11:16]do I become a more hopeful person because I've been let down
[11:24]in my life I've lost my job my marriage has fallen apart
[11:28]I've been divorced I've been poor I've have all these problems people
[11:33]have let me down how can I be hopeful how can I
[11:37]be optimistic I've lost hope in people listen it's okay to lose
[11:44]hope in people but make sure that doesn't translate in losing hope
[11:48]in Allah so how do we regain how do we develop that
[11:56]hope in Allah subhah wa ta'ala the answer is that we have
[12:05]to gain a better understanding of who our Lord is we have
[12:09]we need you know that's why the imams spend so much time
[12:16]in their duas uating for us the attributes of God so we
[12:19]know who he is because when you know him you will trust
[12:23]him when you know him you will love him when you know
[12:26]him you will surrender to him when you know him you will
[12:31]prefer his decree over your preference number one the first thing that
[12:38]you need to know about Allah about your lord is he doesn't
[12:44]wrong anybody Allah doesn't oppress anybody Allah has not been unfair or
[12:56]unjust to a single soul you know many of you may be
[13:05]famili familiar with a great Christian Theologian by the name of CS
[13:10]Lewis he has some pretty amazing quotes you know he used to
[13:15]be an atheist and he has he says and I'll read for
[13:18]you the quote he used to be an atheist who used to
[13:22]argue for the nonexistence of God so he says my argument against
[13:29]God was that the Universe seemed so cruel and unjust he says
[13:39]I look around at the world at the universe it's so harsh
[13:44]it's filled with Injustice my argument against God was that the the
[13:52]world was cruel the universe was cruel and unjust but then he
[13:57]says but how how did I get this idea of just and
[14:05]unjust he says a man does not call a line crooked unless
[14:12]he has an idea of what a straight line is he says
[14:19]when I called the universe unjust what was I comparing it to
[14:26]there is this internal recognition that there is some absolute Justice out
[14:34]there we all crave it and this is a part of the
[14:43]not only do we know and we recognize that there is there
[14:50]is this ultimate justice but we all yearn for it even the
[14:57]most wicked oppressor hopes to be treated justly in the court of
[15:02]law There Is This Love For Justice so number one if you
[15:08]want to have hope in Allah number one remember that Allah never
[15:11]does anything to you everything that he does is for you he
[15:17]doesn't wrong you he's just he's Fair that's number one number two
[15:23]is that not only is Allah just but he's exceedingly merciful now
[15:32]we always hear this Allah is merciful Allah is the beneficent and
[15:36]the merciful but some of us we don't really feel that we
[15:41]don't believe it we might not want to say it sometimes when
[15:45]we read the Quran you feel like choking as you're reading it
[15:50]because you say I'm reading the words but I don't feel it
[15:54]there's a Dua in the month of rajab it's recommended to to
[16:01]recite this Dua was taught by IM in this Dua the Imam
[16:18]he teaches us how to speak to Allah in this sacred month
[16:23]and among the things that he says [Music] oh the one who
[16:44]gives abundantly who gives a lot for little acts of goodness Allah
[16:52]rewards us very generously you know there was there's a Hadith that
[16:56]we have that says in the month of of if you say
[17:03]a thousand times and it's not difficult to recite a thousand you
[17:10]have a whole month even if you don't you save it for
[17:16]the last 10 days just say 100 times a day for the
[17:18]last 10 that's a thousand times the Hadith says whoever says a
[17:26]thousand times in the month of r Allah will grant them 100,000
[17:34]H and 100 cities in jenah 100 cities not houses for what
[17:52]why does Allah giving you so much is it because we deserve
[17:57]it it's because that's who he is he's generous for a that
[18:04]will take you maximum maybe a couple of hours at most Allah
[18:11]gives you this mindboggling reward why because that's why he created you
[18:19]he wants you to benefit from his endless Eternal Mercy is Allah
[18:29]does the does the generosity and the mercy stop there sometimes you
[18:39]say oh Allah I have nothing to show for I have it
[18:44]even done a little bit you know sometimes Allah gives as compensation
[18:48]for what you do but let's say that you don't do anything
[18:53]you have nothing to show for Allah says I give just because
[19:00]you asked just because you asked him does the generosity and the
[19:09]mercy of Allah stop there no look at what Imad says Allah
[19:22]doesn't only give the ones who ask oh the one who gives
[19:28]to those who don't even ask the majority of the blessings that
[19:33]we have in our lives we didn't even ask Allah for it
[19:39]has anyone in this room ever made a Dua oh Allah I
[19:44]ask you through your mercy to ensure that my spleen is functioning
[19:50]yaah Allah yman I ask you today to protect me by guiding
[19:58]all of the ends enzymes in my liver has anyone made this
[20:01]Dua unless you're a weird medical student maybe you no one no
[20:07]one makes that kind of Dua but Allah gives it to you
[20:11]you don't understand the value of these duas that we laugh at
[20:17]unless your liver stops working so Allah is the one who gives
[20:24]to those who don't even ask and it doesn't even stop there
[20:27]he also gives to those who don't even know him there are
[20:37]people who don't know Allah who don't believe in Allah Allah is
[20:41]a stranger to them but he doesn't withhold he gives them Allah
[20:51]gives everybody but the question is do I have the capacity to
[20:55]receive all that he gives that's the problem it's easy to receive
[20:59]material things but the spiritual gifts they're they're more important they're heavier
[21:06]blessings you need capacity for them so Allah is merciful this is
[21:14]the Lord that you and I have so when you have a
[21:18]lord like this who gives a lot for a little who gives
[21:22]those who ask who gives those who don't ask who gives those
[21:27]who don't know him why does he do this to he gives
[21:32]it purely out of his kindness and his Mercy now Allah you
[21:42]might be looking at what's happening in and you're thinking to yourself
[21:49]that where's the you know the problem is brothers and sisters is
[21:55]that we human beings we're very limited and what we see and
[21:59]what we understand you know there's a very beautiful saying is that
[22:02]we human beings we always object to Allah because we see the
[22:10]pixel but Allah sees the picture you know a pixel is very
[22:16]dark and you can't really see anything it's blurry it doesn't make
[22:20]sense you look and you see death and destruction people losing loved
[22:27]ones and others who are losing limbs and you say you see
[22:32]kids being pulled out of the rubble dead bodies that's because we're
[22:39]only seeing one side right we're just like M all we see
[22:45]are things that look very problematic we're objecting because we're seeing it
[22:53]from M's perspective not from K's wisdom there's an Ayah in the
[22:59]Quran where Allah subhana wa taala speaks about those who die on
[23:07]his path and those who are defending M those who are standing
[23:12]on their lands and not allowing the occupiers to take over them
[23:16]these people Allah inshallah will accept them as Martyrs but what does
[23:21]Allah say you see we see one side we see the DWI
[23:27]side of the portal but what does Allah say about how they
[23:30]are received on the other side Allah he [Music] says Allah says
[23:43]those who die in my way they are rejoicing they are rejoicing
[23:51]over what Allah has given them the world didn't give them anything
[23:56]the world just took away things from from them these kids who
[24:02]had their childhoods stripped away from them by Biden and Netanyahu and
[24:07]these criminals Allah says these ones they're rejoicing they're so happy we
[24:18]failed them we weren't able to bring joy to them but Allah
[24:24]Allah is able to and they're waiting anticipating they're waiting for the
[24:37]arrival of their loved ones that's their condition and for the bidens
[24:45]and the Nyah and the blinkin all of them Allah also has
[24:47]an Ayah for them you open the television all we hear is
[25:02]what Biden said and what Netanyahu said and what blink and said
[25:08]Allah says on the day of judgment we will put a seal
[25:09]on their mouths they don't get to talk their limbs will testify
[25:17]you know who gets to talk in we Elevate the voice of
[25:31]the Prime Minister the president the defense minister but on the day
[25:37]of judgment Allah centers the voice of the victim we have to
[25:43]know these things because when you know this you're optimistic you're hopeful
[25:49]you know that Allah he doesn't let any aggression go unaccounted for
[25:56]so Allah is just Allah is merciful and Allah subhana wa tala
[26:05]is wise you know the reason why sometimes it's difficult to see
[26:09]the Silver Lining because is because some of us have forgotten why
[26:12]Allah even created us to begin with you forget your purpose what
[26:21]is our purpose and I know we're very used to giving the
[26:25]Sunday School answer the one that we memorize and gurgitate Allah created
[26:31]us to to worship him what does that mean but Allah doesn't
[26:37]need our worship Allah subhana T doesn't need our worship it's very
[26:41]interesting that when you look at the Quran Allah subhana waala in
[26:47]he speaks to you and I oh children of Adam did I
[27:01]not take a covenant with you that you shall not worship Shan
[27:08]because he's a manifest enemy but worship me it's interesting that the
[27:20]Quran says that human beings have two choices you either worship Shan
[27:29]meaning you worship what he wants you to worship or you worship
[27:33]me there's no third option there is no such thing as a
[27:39]human being who doesn't worship every human being worships the difference is
[27:46]what is your object of worship that's the only difference if you
[27:51]look at the history of humanity anthropologists can affirm this if you
[27:56]look at the archaeological records human beings spoke different languages they had
[28:01]different Cuisines they had different cultures different clothes but there is one
[28:09]common denominator among all human societies and that is ritual worship what
[28:17]does worship mean don't limit the concept of worship to bwing and
[28:22]prostrating yes there are people who have never bowed and they have
[28:26]never prostrated physically but they worship to worship means that you have
[28:31]an extraordinary admiration for someone or something you are entirely devoted to
[28:41]someone or something because you have a deep rooted belief that that
[28:46]object of worship is going to give you what you're searching for
[28:49]it's going to give you that happiness it's going to give you
[28:57]that prosperity for some people it's money you have an extraordinary admiration
[29:01]for money you are deeply devoted to money because you think that
[29:06]the more I devote myself to the pursuit of money the more
[29:13]happy I will be you think that if I can just Ascend
[29:16]to this political office that's all that I need and I'll be
[29:22]happy it will make me feel fulfilled all of that isan Shan
[29:31]wants you to worship anyone or anything other than Allah but Allah
[29:39]says I want you to only worship me why you know sometimes
[29:44]when I speak to my Christian friends they say God doesn't want
[29:48]you to ascribe Partners to him he wants you to only worship
[29:54]him because he's a jealous God Allah subhana wa taala is not
[29:59]jealous Allah doesn't want us and I want you to listen very
[30:06]carefully to this Allah doesn't want us to worship anything other than
[30:10]him because he has high regard for us he doesn't want you
[30:18]to have extraordinary admiration and Devotion to something that is as needy
[30:23]as you are why humiliate yourself and devote yourself to something that
[30:34]is limited weak insignificant you only have two paths the path of
[30:42]or the path of and it's interesting that Allah he says but
[30:53]worship me that is the straight path we've been hearing this phrase
[31:03]since we were children what is the meaning of when Allah says
[31:16]the straight path the idea of a path implies that we're on
[31:22]a journey meaning that the D is not your resting place you
[31:27]weren't meant for this world you were created for something higher that's
[31:34]number one number two is when Allah says worship me that is
[31:40]the straight path a straight path is the shortest distance between two
[31:46]points a straight path implies that there are crooked paths there are
[31:55]paths that will take you to other than Allah but it also
[32:02]implies that there are longer paths yeah they will take you to
[32:06]Allah but it's going to take a long time to get there
[32:11]what is the longer path it's when you mix the worship of
[32:16]Allah with disobedience to Allah imagine yourself you're on the freeway and
[32:25]you're speeding right because we're in Michigan you're speeding and you're going
[32:32]straight whenever you commit a sin it's like taking the exit too
[32:38]early you know when you take an exit you know you're driving
[32:43]and your wife is talking to you and you missed the exit
[32:46]it's always her fault you take the exit and now you got
[32:50]to get back on the freeway but it's not easy to get
[32:54]back on the freeway you got to make a U-turn and then
[32:57]there's a d to a sign and then it delays your journey
[33:03]whenever you commit a sin it's like taking the exit and now
[33:09]you have to get back on the highway through the process of
[33:12]Toba yes you can still get to God but you know it's
[33:17]a longer unnecessary route the straight path is obedience not committing sin
[33:27]Allah created us because he wants us to arrive at the best
[33:36]of places take the path that is going to lead you to
[33:40]proximity to him because that is the key to Eternal Prosperity Allah
[33:45]created you because he wants you to enjoy he wants you to
[33:50]Experience Unlimited happiness and pleasure but there's only one place where you
[33:54]get anything that is unlimited and that is with the only being
[33:59]that is unlimited muham muham now when you Embrace this path how
[34:11]much time do I have left I'll speak as much as I
[34:15]wantam muhamad I always tell myself look at the clock before you
[34:21]get on the mimar but I didn't look at the clock so
[34:26]now you're at my Mercy I'm just going to talk until until
[34:28]I start to see people leave when you Embrace when you surrender
[34:35]you say oh Allah I accept you as my Lord as the
[34:39]one who doesn't oppress as the all merciful and I know that
[34:42]you are wise and you did not create anything in vain everything
[34:45]that you do has purpose and I also have purpose and you
[34:49]created me for the greatest purpose and that is to be close
[34:52]to you when you put yourself under the of Allah the prophet
[35:03]he says how wondrous is the affair of the believer the IM
[35:17]the prophet he says how wondrous how amazing is the affair of
[35:26]the believer everything that happens to him or her is good when
[35:31]you're M nothing that is happening in your life is bad for
[35:36]you you might not like it just like you don't like medicine
[35:38]and you don't like shots right but these are all things that
[35:41]are good for you right unless it's a CO shot oh that's
[35:47]controversial but so if you're a m everything that happens is good
[35:55]I'll give you an example how many of you have made Dua
[36:00]and your Dua at least from your Vantage Point before I even
[36:06]finish the question the sister raised her hand right how many of
[36:09]you made a Dua and your Dua wasn't answered at least in
[36:14]the way that you expected it to be raise your hand yeah
[36:17]there are a lot of you there a lot of you that's
[36:20]normal right so now I'm going to probably share a Hadith that
[36:23]is going to be the ultimate glad Tiding for you and sometimes
[36:28]it does happen you've been praying for years and years and years
[36:32]yaah Allah please let me marry her that's usually what the Dua
[36:36]is she doesn't even know you exist but you're making this Dua
[36:42]you make a Dua one day two days two months 5 years
[36:47]10 years and you start to feel despondent you say oh Allah
[36:56]I thought you aren't you the one who says ask me and
[37:02]I will respond we have a narration mentions this in the narration
[37:06]is from IM he says who a a raises his hands to
[37:33]Allah he has a you ask Allah for a need you present
[37:41]a request to him so Allah says to his angels Allah says
[37:50]delay the answering of the Dua because I love to hear the
[37:56]voice and the Dua of my servant let's be honest brothers and
[37:59]sisters if Allah gives us what we want we're going to stop
[38:06]supplicating to him and Allah subhana wa ta'ala because he is looking
[38:15]out for your best interest continuously praying to him having a relationship
[38:25]with him has more value in the thing that you're asking him
[38:30]for sometimes Allah withholds what you're asking because if he if he
[38:36]gives it to you you're going to sever the connection with him
[38:38]so he doesn't give it to you so you continuously talk to
[38:44]him because what you gain just from talking to him is greater
[38:50]than any material gift you're searching for and then the Hadith continues
[38:59]then on the day of judgment oh my servant in you called
[39:13]upon me you asked me for things and I didn't respond to
[39:21]you I didn't forget that Dua you made I didn't give it
[39:27]to you and do here is the compensation for your unanswered Dua
[39:34]and on this day you made another Dua and I didn't answer
[39:39]you in D and this is the reward for your patience here
[39:47]is the compensation for your unanswered Dua then you know Imad says
[39:56]at the end [Music] Imad says when a mmin sees how generous
[40:19]Allah is in compensating for those unanswered duas the Imam says on
[40:28]that day a mmin will wish that none of their duas were
[40:31]answered Allah subhana wa tala wants Jenna for all of us some
[40:38]of us our Deeds are not going to take us there so
[40:44]Allah says you're not planning for your so I'll plan for your
[40:48]through the unanswered duas I'll take you to Jenna not through your
[40:55]am through your unanswered duas that's a silver lining what you see
[41:03]is God is not hearing me but the reality is God is
[41:06]creating a Salvation plan for you and there are so many stories
[41:13]like this my dear brothers and sisters having hope having high hopes
[41:19]in Allah many of us we we love to recite Dua Abu
[41:22]Hamza thumali in the Dua of Abu Hamza there's a line in
[41:27]which IM he says oh Allah we have great hope in you
[41:40]we don't just hope in you we have great expectations from you
[41:46]great hope in you there's a beautiful narration from he says he
[42:07]says the IM he says have more hope in Allah for the
[42:16]things that you don't expect than the things that you do expect
[42:20]have so much hope in him and then the IM he gives
[42:27]an example the Imam he says M after spending 10 years on
[42:48]the farm of sh it was time for him to go back
[42:53]to Egypt he has to go back to his people he was
[42:56]traveling through the deserts and it was nighttime and he got lost
[43:02]he was lost his wife is pregnant he has children he is
[43:11]walking through the freezing desert at night there are wild animals he
[43:15]doesn't know where to put his family they're going to freeze to
[43:21]death it's a bad situation and he sees some light on the
[43:29]mountain IM he says M went up that mountain hoping for some
[43:41]firewood to warm his family that's the only thing that he wanted
[43:45]that's the only thing that he was expecting some firew word and
[43:48]may firewood and maybe someone to give them some directions right right
[43:52]it's the Sunnah of mus to ask for directions for the brothers
[43:55]who don't like to ask for directions he goes up and Imam
[44:03]says he went up expecting fire wood but Allah made him one
[44:07]of the prophets sometimes you're expecting something very small you're in a
[44:16]bad situation but that seemingly bad situation is a precursor for the
[44:20]greatest gift Allah is about to give you we have many examples
[44:26]of this if we go back to the story of YF when
[44:30]YF was thrown in that well by his brothers can you imagine
[44:36]how he felt when they were throwing him in the well there
[44:39]was a moment that he was smiling and the brothers looked at
[44:46]him in this they said why are you smiling we're literally throwing
[44:48]you in a well and we're going to leave you here he
[44:53]says I'm smiling because for all my life I used to say
[44:57]that no one could harm me because I have 10 brothers and
[45:03]my brothers now are throwing me in the well I realized that
[45:06]I have no one other than Allah when he was in that
[45:12]dark well now that is a very tragic moment but do you
[45:17]know what the silver lining of Yousef being in that well was
[45:20]look at the trajectory of his life if he wasn't thrown in
[45:25]the well the Caravan going to Egypt would have never picked him
[45:28]up and he would have never been sold to the Minister of
[45:33]Finance and if he wasn't sold to the Minister of Finance he
[45:39]would have never been seduced by Z if he wasn't seduced by
[45:41]he would have never ended up in the prison where he guided
[45:44]some of his inmates to and he interpreted the dream of one
[45:49]of his inmates and that is what led him to meet the
[45:54]king and because he met the king he became the head of
[46:00]the treasury of the greatest civilization on Earth it all started with
[46:04]him being thrown in the well Allah want Allah chose yusf who
[46:10]came from this distant Village called Canan and he wanted to export
[46:17]to the Egyptian CI civilization it had to happen through the Well
[46:22]when the prophet was expelled from Mecca it was heartbreaking but the
[46:31]Silver Lining was what if he had remained Islam would have never
[46:35]spread as quickly as it did when yunus was in the belly
[46:42]of the whale he he's he's in the belly of the whale
[46:59]enveloped in layers of Darkness if that didn't happen would he he
[47:08]came to a realization there that I'm in the darkness of this
[47:12]I am in physical darkness and I gave up on my people
[47:18]who are in a more serious type of Darkness spiritual Darkness how
[47:21]how did I give up on them he goes back they real
[47:27]realized the of losing yunus and he he realized that he needed
[47:30]to be more patient he goes back over 100,000 of them converted
[47:35]to the path of Sil Silver Lining when the library of shei
[47:43]was burned in Bagdad what a tragedy but it was the burning
[47:51]of his library and the persecution that he faced that forced him
[47:55]to go and settle in nef where he established the house of
[48:01]nef which stands until today Silver Linings and when M the IM
[48:09]whom we have gathered here tonight to commemorate when he was dragged
[48:18]to the prisons for most people it would have been the end
[48:22]it would have been a moment of despair but what does m
[48:28]say he [Music] says what type of soul is this he says
[48:52]oh Allah for a long time I've been asking you to free
[48:58]up my time so that I can worship you so that I
[49:01]can devote myself to you and youve answered my Dua he's going
[49:07]into a prison but he sees the silver lining now I get
[49:09]to be alone with my Lord you know whenever we mention the
[49:16]tragedies of the we always link it to the tragedy of IM
[49:22]Hussein there are so many parallels when IM Hussein walked in to
[49:28]the room of his brother IM alassan and he was vomiting blood
[49:34]because of the corrosive poison that was coursing through his veins the
[49:39]narration say that Imam Hussein started to cry and this is where
[49:45]IM he says Don't Cry abdah there are no days there is
[50:01]no day like your day and today I say to IM Hussein
[50:07]abdah it is true there is no day like your day but
[50:15]how about your son M ja if there is no day like
[50:20]the day of abdah there are no years like the years of
[50:34]the IM spent many years in the prisons not one prison or
[50:44]two prisons har ABI would send him to a prison and the
[50:47]IM would influence the prison guards he would soften their hearts they
[50:55]were given the responsib ability of torturing the IM but the Imam
[51:01]would soften their hearts they became admirers of the IM on one
[51:07]occasion they sent a woman to seduce they summoned the most beautiful
[51:12]woman in the Arabian Peninsula to seduce him they sent her into
[51:21]the prison cell they left for a while and when they returned
[51:24]they found her Pros tring with M the narration say that one
[51:33]of the prisons in which the IM was detained in was a
[51:38]prison where he was the prison Warden the narrations say that as
[51:47]he was standing and looking down into the prison where IM was
[51:51]held one of his companions came to him and he said y
[51:55]father what are you looking at he said to him you look
[51:59]what do you see he says I see a garment that is
[52:12]thrown on the ground he says to him look again he said
[52:23]I looked more closely and I said to I see a man
[52:29]in a man that has been deprived of food so much so
[52:34]that he is only skin and bones when I look down it
[52:40]appears that it is only a rag on the ground he says
[52:46]this man I don't know why he's even being detained I see
[52:53]him in the morning after he performs he stays awake until sunrise
[53:02]making Dua supplicating to Allah and I swear by Allah with the
[53:06]rising of the sun he goes down into sujud and he doesn't
[53:12]raise his head from until the time of he prays he recites
[53:18]his and his Dua and he continues in until at the time
[53:25]of he breaks is Fast by God he fasts during the day
[53:29]and he worships at night the narration say that eventually M was
[53:36]transferred to the prison ofah one of the most ruthless prison guards
[53:43]the narrations say that the chains around IM M ja were so
[53:50]heavy that the IM could barely move he would be tortured on
[53:54]a daily basis on one occas the door was open the IM
[53:59]was in solitary confinement they put him on a in a dungeon
[54:03]that was so dark that the Imam he would always ask if
[54:08]it was the time of Salah because there was no light in
[54:12]that dungeon the narration say on one occasion the door of the
[54:18]cell of the prison was open the IM started to crawl towards
[54:24]the door imagine when you're in a dungeon it's very stuffy in
[54:28]there he wanted to breathe some fresh air the IM he he
[54:34]takes his face out he opens that cell he takes a deep
[54:39]breath as sees him he says to him what are you doing
[54:41]outside of the cell and he slaps the face of at that
[54:52]moment IM he turns to Allah after years of patience he says
[54:58]rescue me from this prison comes to IM he says to him
[55:10]we miss you you've been away from us for a long time
[55:15]he says to [Music] him [Music] what are we going to see
[55:32]you the IM he says oh Ali convey my Salam to my
[55:45]Shia and tell me that they will see me on the bridge
[55:49]of Bagdad they will see me on Friday on the bridge of
[55:53]Bagdad the narration say that he comes out it was a Wednesday
[56:00]brothers and sisters he comes out of the prison cell he tells
[56:03]all of the sh in bdad that the weit is over on
[56:08]Friday at the time of we're going to see we're going to

[56:25]in Medina when Imam comes out we want to on that Friday
[56:40]on the 2 on the 25th of the narration say that the
[56:46]women and the children and the man of the Shia Community they
[56:54]all gathered at the bridge of of bdad they're all waiting anxiously
[57:01]to see the IM the IM who they have not seen for
[57:02]many years the narration say as they're waiting they see a janaza
[57:10]being carrying on that bridge allahar brothers and sisters do you know
[57:17]that M did not have a cin they wrapped him with his
[57:24]cloak they brought him out and they made a call this is
[57:31]the IM of the he said I had a friend who was
[57:35]a Christian he was a physician I was suspicious about what happened

[58:08]he was poisoned my dear brothers and sisters there's a poet that
[58:14]recites beautiful lines of poetry it's a conversation between IM and IM

[59:04]speaks to IM Al he says I was in Chains when they
[59:09]took me to [Music] Sham IM Imad was in shackles and chains

[59:57]I say to at least you could walk with those shackles and

[60:12]and chains those shackles and chains crushed him when you looked at
[60:17]him you could not see Musa all you could see was the
[60:25]shackles and chains l [Music] we ask Allah to accept what we

[60:49]than we can give him we ask Allah Asel to accept the
[60:54]little the the little that we offer Ya Allah we know this
