[0:20][Music] m first and foremost we congratulate great Mar and all believers

[0:58]as we lift the last Eve of Tomorrow the 27th of it's

[1:09]a very holy day very important day the day of excuse me

[1:14]meaning the day descended on the prophet sallallah alaih and uh commanded

[1:22]him on behalf of Allah subhah wa ta'ala to begin uh propagating

[1:26]The Message of Islam so on a day like tomorrow the 27th

[1:33]of Ja descends on the prophet with the verses or at least

[1:38]some verses ofah and he tells him read in the name of

[1:46]your lord the one who created so tomorrow is a very important

[1:55]day a very holy day we also give condolences to our im

[2:02]as we lived the mar anniversary of IM and the demise anniversary

[2:10]based on one opinion ofas Allah's Uncle Abu Talib Ali's father there

[2:18]are two dates regarding the demise of Abu Talib one is the

[2:26]26th of rajab and one is the 7th of Shahar Ramadan so

[2:32]you'll find the Shia usually mentioning abuali and commemorating his demise or

[2:37]say anniversary in rajab and also during the month of Ramadan it's

[2:42]the least we can do for uh this great giant who supported

[2:52]us with everything he had last week we were speaking about IM

[3:07]Ali's marriage the marriage of and we mentioned uh what took place

[3:23]when the when the Imam wanted to live with him so basically

[3:29]when wanted the wedding to take place and wanted to begin his

[3:36]marital life with the Lady of Light Fatima so we mentioned one

[3:44]tradition which uh mentioned a few details regarding what happened and then

[3:49]we went into a second tradition that mentioned more details right based

[3:53]on the second tradition that we were reading uh the the uh

[4:03]the IM was addressed by the wives of let me pull out

[4:12]the tradition and we'll continue where we left off in so if

[4:15]you remember this was a tradition that mentioned in his book and

[4:22]as we said the book is a secondary source so um abas

[4:26]will narrate what the primary sources of Hadith mention he said so

[4:42]they told the Imam uh should we ask the prophet on your

[4:47]behalf should we ask the prophet uh to basically allow the wedding

[4:52]to take place so that you may live with fa so he

[4:57]said he told them to do so this was the second tradition

[5:04]um in the first tradition Sal the the wife of she addresses

[5:12]IMI and she tells him why don't you speak to the prophet

[5:20]and you tell him that you want to start with living with

[5:25]your wife so he says he uh tells her that I am

[5:35]shy of the from the prophet Sall hence I I um am

[5:42]unable unable to mention these things in front of the Prophet so

[5:45]I want to continue where we left off with the second tradition

[5:51]let me just send it to the students who are online and

[5:53]then will read the tradition and explain it subhana tala uh you

[6:27]guys have your notes from last week you don't so if you

[6:54]go on the second page on the second page that's where we

[6:58]stopped so we got to the part which says the prophet turned

[7:25]to the women and he said who is here we said that

[7:29]this word indicates that there was some sort of curtain or barrier

[7:33]between the women of the prophet sallallahu alh and between IM Ali

[7:40]right IM Ali was present so one might imagine that you know

[7:45]it was a mixed Gathering but that was not the case are

[7:48]not with mixing they don't like to have mixed Gatherings meaning Gatherings

[7:54]where men and women who are non Maham sit together without any

[7:59]curtain or barrier yes sometimes there's a case of necessity there's um

[8:09]a case of necessity which necessitates that the nonah man and the

[8:15]non Maham women are together in the same room without a what

[8:20]without a barrier right obviously they won't be alone they won't be

[8:24]in seclusion so in that case as long as both of them

[8:31]um they guard their limits both of them observe the hijab that

[8:35]they're supposed to observe then they won't be doing something unlawful right

[8:39]but in general it's best to avoid mixed Gatherings as much as

[8:45]possible so when the prophet says who is here this means that

[8:51]there was some sort of barrier between the women and between the

[8:58]of to to but they're not to IMI right and so so

[9:16]here um Sal answered she told the prophet I am Sal this

[9:21]is z zash who was also one of the good of the

[9:27]Prophet sallallah alai and here is so and so she began mentioning

[9:29]other wives of the Prophet here the prophet commanded his his his

[9:44]women his wives to prepare one of his Chambers so that it

[9:52]could be it could turn into the the house of Ali and

[9:58]uh the prophet had orat means what it means Chambers it was

[10:04]married to multiple women so each lady had a chamber that was

[10:10]designated for her so here the prophet tells um he tells them

[10:19]to prepare um one of those chambers uh to prepare one of

[10:29]those chambers so it may become what the house of Sal asked

[10:40]the prophet which chamber should we choose so that it may become

[10:44]the house so he tells her that your chamber yeah will become

[10:59]the house of Ali and so he tells Sal that your chamber

[11:19]will will be designated for and that's an honor for we said

[11:29]this once say it again was the greatest wife of after there

[11:38]are several Traditions indicating that was a very important Islamic figure very

[11:47]important individual excuse me when the prophet passed away sallallahu alaih and

[11:54]the issue of fed took place um when the the issue of

[12:03]fed took place and the caliphate was uh taken by the opponents

[12:09]of Imam Ali Sal stood in support of who support of IM

[12:14]Ali support of so she did not backstab when was was given

[12:32]the the sand ofala when he was given or he took the

[12:35]sand ofala he gave that sand to who to and she placed

[12:41]it in a glass container and he told her that if she

[12:43]sees the sand turning into blood or she sees blood gushing out

[12:50]of the sand then she should know that IM Hussein has been

[12:54]killed the lady was a very Noble lady and she was a

[13:02]lover of here we realize that the prophet s tells that your

[13:06]room will be designated to it will basically turn into the house

[13:23]of and here the word could be read and could be read

[13:36]okay so the prophet commanded his wom to do what to basically

[13:42]prepare for the reception to prepare her for her wedding okay and

[13:49]we're going to mention an important Point regarding this issue but on

[13:53]top of that he says uh the tradition says if it says

[14:02]it means that he commanded them to decorate something to beautify something

[14:07]possibly to beautify the the the room the Chamber of or to

[14:15]beautify other things or to you know present ornaments to if we

[14:25]read the word then the prophet would be telling his wives to

[14:29]beautify themselves to wear for example jewelry to wear gold to beautify

[14:36]themselves why so they can also be ready for the wedding of

[14:44]okay now the word I want to focus on is means that

[14:52]he told his wives to prepare a Fatima for the wedding to

[14:59]prepare for the wedding make sense so for example to give her

[15:06]let's say a wedding dress to give her let's say ornaments things

[15:11]like that right which means there's nothing wrong in uh a lady

[15:17]preparing herself for her wedding there's nothing wrong in having uh you

[15:26]know um in in in a lady uh wearing let's say jewelry

[15:29]or fancy clothing Nice Clothing beautiful clothing during her wedding from an

[15:37]Islamic perspective that's what that is lawful it's okay yes it is

[15:41]unlawful for the lady to reveal her Zena to reveal her ornaments

[15:51]or to reveal her body J meaning to reveal her skin excluding

[15:55]the face and the hands to nonah whether she's you know living

[16:05]her wedding night or not in all cases a Muslim lady should

[16:09]not reveal her ornaments her Zena to non Maham men and should

[16:12]not reveal her skin to nonah excluding what the skin of the

[16:19]face and the hands based on the opinion of multiple Maraj although

[16:23]there there are maraja who say that the face and the hands

[16:26]also have to be covered right so what does that teach us

[16:35]it teaches us that on the wedding night uh the M excuse

[16:39]me the m is allowed to wear fancy clothing she's aware she

[16:46]she's allowed for example to wear makeup she's allowed but she has

[16:51]to watch out she shouldn't reveal her Zena reveal her her ornaments

[16:56]her let's say fancy clothing who the clothing that's beautified J she

[17:02]shouldn't reveal her face that has makeup on it to nonaham men

[17:10]so if she's wearing makeup she has Nice Clothing but she's concealing

[17:15]herself from the sight of non Maham men then she's okay make

[17:22]sense make sense the problem is what in many cases unfortunately uh

[17:31]ladies will will um will fall into sins or mistakes on the

[17:36]wedding night so the bride for example will come out in public

[17:42]in front of nonah with makeup on her face and she won't

[17:44]have some sort of B some sort of face covering to cover

[17:48]the face that's a problem that's unlawful she'll come out with fancy

[17:52]clothing when I say fancy clothing I'm talking about clothing that's beautify

[17:57]that has Zena on it it in front of nonah men so

[18:02]the nonaham men will be able to see that Zena to see

[18:08]that you know the uh the the beautification that is on her

[18:13]clothing and that's that's a problem make sense yes so the issue

[18:39]is the whole issue revolves around Zena okay number one Zena means

[18:46]beautification and or decorations make sense so in better terms beautification and

[18:58]or ornaments okay uh yes no having a wedding is is it's

[19:05]must actually no music and we're going to talk about that we're

[19:08]gonna speak about the wedding of Al which in my opinion is

[19:14]a very important topic because it teaches us how to have weddings

[19:18]how to have lawful weddings so weddings are lawful number one weddings

[19:22]are lawful in fact they're must it's recommended to have a wedding

[19:26]but what's unlawful is to do something unlawful in the wedding such

[19:33]as dancing such as listening to music Haram music unul music or

[19:39]listening to songs so on so forth so we're gonna get to

[19:44]that inshah but for now I want to focus on the bride

[19:45]because the prophet said what s he said he tells his wives

[19:53]to prepare Fatima for the wedding so we understand that there's nothing

[19:59]wrong in you know a lady preparing herself for her wedding looking

[20:04]beautiful during her wedding night that's fine that's acceptable she can look

[20:11]beautiful she can look attractive for her husband that's fine but she

[20:15]has to guard her limits she has to observe hijab in front

[20:19]of who in front of nonah men make sense now usually on

[20:27]the wedding night as we mentioned the will have makeup on that's

[20:31]that's a given so if she has makeup she has to ensure

[20:36]that nonah men will not see her face with the makeup how's

[20:38]she gonna do that well she wears a if she's coming out

[20:43]of the house in front of nonah men she needs to cover

[20:45]her face in that case obviously she'll have someone with her who's

[20:50]who's walking with her to to ensure that she doesn't you know

[20:56]fall or or hit something as she's she's walking Jade and also

[20:59]the face covering will not stop her from seeing will not block

[21:06]her sight the same applies to the fancy clothing if there's Zena

[21:09]on the clothing so if the clothing is meaning it's beautified she

[21:15]has to um she has to conceal uh that beautification she has

[21:25]to conceal that clothing so she can wear the clothing but when

[21:30]she's in the presence presence of nonah men she wears something over

[21:35]it to conceal it make sense yes question is does it okayed

[21:49]like whatever family whatever like right and one fors so you mean

[22:01]like you have two celebrations right yeah two parties one for like

[22:09]okay so one for women only Bas okay and one for the

[22:19]family okay that's that's allowed it's not Haram to have two celebrations

[22:25]two parties that's allowed question y if per the itself not BL

[22:40]know obviously you're you're um you're um damaging the the like bless

[22:55]from then some majority you have like men and women dancing together

[23:02]so would it like not bless the marriage it's you're doing something

[23:10]unlawful if someone is doing something unlawful in his wedding right then

[23:17]obviously that deed is uh is not in his favor not in

[23:24]the favor of his merital life and it either will damage his

[23:30]marital life or the least we can say is it could damage

[23:34]it right so obviously he should avoid it uh let alone you

[23:39]know thinking about the Merit of life he should avoid it because

[23:42]it's he's disobeying Allah subhana waala right whether someone is getting married

[23:46]or not he should always obey Allah but on the wedding night

[23:54]what makes that night a critical night is it's the first night

[23:57]uh uh it's the first night um which is part of his

[24:05]marital life so it's the beginning of his marital life say so

[24:08]when you begin the marital life with with with disobedience [Music] then

[24:17]you're you're not doing yourself a favor yeah [Music] yes ma ma

[24:27]for example okay we'll get to that inah and what can we

[24:37]listen to on on the wedding night however say Ali the thing

[24:49]is when you have even if you have let's say a wedding

[24:52]where only families and family members and Friends attend J uh when

[24:59]you you have men and women attending the wedding then some of

[25:03]them definitely will be non mahs to others you have nonah men

[25:09]attending and nonaham women attendings right know I sleep we get married

[25:23]like boys you know in this case like like that's like where

[25:30]get ACC for you know or why you just supposed to be

[25:37]like family not friends you can invite your friends that's fine that's

[25:42]fine but we highly encourage you know uh people to to have

[25:47]segregation in their weddings so one room for the men and one

[25:53]room for the women because when it's a mixed wedding in many

[25:57]cases people will will fall har women for example will display their

[26:02]ornaments or display their their beauty to the nonaham men right then

[26:11]again non- Maham men might you know look at women when they're

[26:15]not supposed to make sense so they might you know uh fall

[26:22]into forbidden looks looks of Reba so on so forth um so

[26:26]it's it's quite difficult when you have a mixed wedding to ensure

[26:33]that nothing Haram takes place makes sense yeah so we encourage the

[26:40]the m to basically uh have segregation in their in their weddings

[26:45]one room for the man one room for the woman yeah Mak

[26:52]sense but when we say one room for the men and one

[26:56]room for the women it doesn't mean that in that case men

[27:00]are allowed to do what's Haram or women are allowed to do

[27:03]what's Haram what's Haram is Haram you have to avoid it right

[27:10]you have to avoid it in all cases how fun did I

[27:27]did the rest the students receive the Hadith that I sent or

[27:36]no I think they did not I sent it again just in

[27:56]case okay here asked she told her if she had any perfume

[28:37]that she had saved for herself she said yes says here brought

[28:50]a glass container and she poured perfume that was in that container

[28:55]in the palm of uh she says at that point I smelled

[29:11]a fragrance stemming from that perfume that was absolutely unique I had

[29:19]not smelled any fragrance similar to it asked what is this you

[29:27]know perfume she wants to know from where did she bring it

[29:44]she tells her that there was there was a man called who

[29:50]would enter upon the prophet Sall okay we're on the last page

[30:00]for the students who are here in the library we're on the

[30:02]last page okay you want to read with me excuse me so

[30:07]she tells her that there was a man called who would enter

[30:12]upon the prophet who is here in this narration when she talks

[30:18]about she's talking about as you will realize H there was a

[30:26]man in history called and it seems he was a righteous man

[30:30]because sometimes would come to the prophet sallu alai in the form

[30:38]of that man based on the traditions of he can change his

[30:44]form so sometimes he might appear in the form of a human

[30:47]being similar to what happened when uh he and a few other

[30:54]Angels Came to L not sure if you've heard the story of

[30:56]L but in the story of lot before the final punishment descended

[31:02]jebra and a few other Angels Came to lot in the form

[31:05]of what the form of human beings the form of men so

[31:11]sometimes Jabra would come to the prophet in an Angelic form so

[31:18]he would appear to him as an angel because he is an

[31:21]angel and sometimes no he would come to him in a human

[31:25]form in the form of a man called again I tell you

[31:30]this man it seems he was righteous or else why would choose

[31:32]to appear in the form of that specific man so here she's

[31:41]explaining to where she got that perfume from the perfume with with

[31:47]you know that beautiful uh unique scent she tells her would enter

[31:53]upon the prophet s and the prophet would tell me Prophet would

[32:03]tell oh fa bring the cushion or bring the the pillow and

[32:09]place it on the ground for your uncle referring to who he

[32:16]wasn't her biological Uncle obviously right but I believe we know that

[32:21]in Arabic uh if if someone for example if an old man

[32:28]arrives or someone is older than you and that someone is in

[32:31]your presence you might refer to him as what as you might

[32:37]call him am my uncle right so he would tell her to

[32:45]place a cushion or pillow on the ground for she says I

[32:51]would place that cushion or pillow on the ground then would arrive

[32:57]and he would sit on it he says when would rise something

[33:10]would come out from between his clothes and it would fall on

[33:17]the cushion so the prophet would tell me to gather that thing

[33:22]which fell from what was falling from him listen carefully IMI knew

[33:34]about this and he asked what is that thing which would fall

[33:38]from when he would rise so he told him he told IM

[33:51]Ali it is is a kind of perfume and that falls from

[33:58]the wings of who of so it seems it wasn't who was

[34:07]entering upon the prophet it was who had taken the form of

[34:12]when he would rise that H that perfume would fall from his

[34:16]wings so the prophet would tell fatim to gather that that was

[34:23]the perfume that fa poured in the hand of and had a

[34:30]unique beautiful fragrance clear inshallah I have a question yes uh so

[34:49]are you saying uh Allah subhana Allah subhana um okay all right

[36:30]so now we mentioned a few points regarding the marriage of Ali

[36:38]and fatim we mentioned how IM Ali sought say Fatima's hand from

[36:41]the prophet we mentioned the prophet's response sallallahu alaih wasallam we mentioned

[36:45]how um what took place before the wedding but there's one issue

[36:52]we didn't mention until now that was what happened when told s

[36:56]Fatima that IM Ali wanted to marry her hence I want to

[37:02]mention it now and inshallah we'll continue with the wedding of Al

[37:07]again this is a very important topic because it teaches us how

[37:12]to have lawful weddings how to have lawful weddings so before we

[37:16]go into that topic I'm not sure if we'll have enough time

[37:20]to get into that topic today uh I want to mention what

[37:27]happens when im Ali when tells that IM Ali sought your hand

[37:36]for marriage uh bear in mind that the tradition the story of

[37:40]Ali and Fatima's wedding is a long story and in order to

[37:43]have a full picture regarding what happened you have to collect the

[37:50]narrations that spoke about the wedding you have to collect them okay

[37:54]now some narration will mention let's say the sermons okay so I

[38:08]was saying that the narration regarding uh the story of Ali and

[38:13]Fatima's wedding is a long story and to have a full picture

[38:19]of what happened we need to collect narrations excuse me the narrations

[38:25]that spoke about that story now some narrations will only mention part

[38:30]of the story for example it'll mention the sermons that IMI delivered

[38:35]and we will we will get to that inshallah he delivered sermons

[38:40]uh before the um uh before the wedding took place when made

[38:48]a public announcement in the presence of the Muslims telling them that

[38:53]he married so if you want to um have a full picture

[39:01]a complete picture of of what happened you have to collect the

[39:05]the narrations that spoke about the incidence of that wedding and that

[39:12]uh marriage so right now I'm I'm going to mention um a

[39:18]narration found in he's going to cite the book so in that

[39:46]book there's a narration speaking about the uh the marriage of the

[39:54]narration goes back to he was informing um he was informing uh

[40:03]the uh the narrator the person who narrated what he said what

[40:07]happened when he married fa so he says the following he says

[40:19]when he sought her hand in marriage from the prophet told the

[40:37]IM the prophet tells the imami before you there were men who

[40:48]also sought lady Fatima's hand for marriage Al and he says Fe

[40:58]I mentioned this to her I mentioned that I mentioned to that

[41:04]certain men uh saw her hand for marriage they wanted to marry

[41:15]her he says but I saw that she disliked getting married to

[41:21]them her face would change and her facial expression would indicate that

[41:26]she did not want to get married to those individuals tells them

[41:37]however give me a bit of time so I can go to

[41:42]Fatima speak to her tell her that you want to marry her

[41:44]and then I I will come back to you and I will

[41:48]let you know the result makes sense I will let you know

[41:53]what she says he excuse me here there's a very big lesson

[41:57]a huge lesson which is Father should not force his daughter to

[42:06]get married to a specific man in fact if a Lady based

[42:11]on our Islamic Juris Prudence is actually forced to marry someone else

[42:14]as in she's displeased with the marriage she does not want to

[42:18]get married to that individual the marriage itself the maral contract is

[42:23]what it's B it's void so you can't force a man to

[42:30]marry a lady and you can't force a lady to marry a

[42:35]man make sense if one of the two individuals doesn't want to

[42:37]get married to the other individual as in he or she is

[42:42]displeased with the marriage the marital contract is what the marital contract

[42:45]will be void it will be Boton so here you have Allah

[42:53]Ali and Fatima I told you last week that from day one

[42:57]from the day of her birth when she came into this world

[43:01]z spoke with Allah's permission that was a miracle just as Jesus

[43:06]Jesus Son of Mary spoke when he was in the Cradle it

[43:12]was a miracle done with Allah's permission make sense when she spoke

[43:15]what did she say he said I testify that my husband is

[43:19]the master of the successors so she knows from day one that

[43:24]her husband will be Al Talib she's destined to marry him and

[43:33]he's destined to marry her she knows it Allah has married and

[43:41]Allah announces this issue in the world of the angel's eyes you

[43:46]shall hear all right is completely pleased with this marriage Ali is

[43:51]beyond pleased even then the prophet says what he says just give

[43:55]me a bit of time I need to go and speak with

[44:02]although he knows he's going to say yes right and you'll realize

[44:08]that she won't utter this the word yes but she will do

[44:11]something she will do a specific deed indicating that that she's pleased

[44:16]with the marriage all right so uh here the prophet sallallah alai

[44:27]is teaching us that a father cannot and should not force his

[44:34]daughter to get married to a specific individual even if he's pleased

[44:39]with the marriage she needs to be pleased as well if she's

[44:46]not pleased then he shouldn't force her in fact he can't force

[44:48]her to get married to that individual so the tradition here says

[45:03]here the prophet entered upon FAA and he informed her that wants

[45:09]to get married to [Music] her he told her that aliam has

[45:25]mentioned you meaning Ali wants to get married to you he has

[45:28]sought your hand for marriage what is your opinion Oh Lady of

[45:35]Light what did she doam her face did not change in a

[45:44]way um saw that you know she disliked getting married to Imam

[45:52]Ali this time her face did not change all right her face

[45:55]did not change in a way where the Prophet would would assume

[46:00]or would believe that she doesn't want this marriage rather what happened

[46:05]it says kept quiet but she did not turn her face away

[46:14]from the prophet Sall Al and the prophet did not see any

[46:25]change in her face which indicated that she did not want the

[46:31]marriage to take place so he stood as he was saying he

[46:42]stood as he was saying allahar Allah is greater than to be

[46:47]described her silence is what is her approval so she was saying

[46:55]yes but through what through her silence one might say you know

[47:02]why doesn't just say yes because say Zara also wants to teach

[47:06]women a lesson she is the Mistress of the women of the

[47:11]worlds she wants to teach women that shyness is proper in fact

[47:15]it is very proper for women shyness is a good trait it's

[47:22]a trait that both men and women should hold but especially women

[47:27]women should have a lot of shyness so she was saying yes

[47:36]through what through her silence hence the prophet said her silence is

[47:43]her approval one may say what if you know her silence indicates

[47:47]that she didn't want the marriage we say on the contrary number

[47:50]one no one knows F better than says that Fatima is the

[48:01]soul which lies which lies between his two sides number two if

[48:05]that was the case if she really did not want to get

[48:12]married then her face would have changed right would have seen something

[48:19]in her facial expression indicating did not want to marry just as

[48:27]because he saw when other men sought s Fatima's hand for marriage

[48:35]is that clear inshah so how did she say yes through what

[48:48]through what did she say yes through her her silence again this

[48:57]was a lesson that was teaching this was a lesson from s

[49:07]Fatima to all women next week inshallah we'll continue with this important

[49:22]topic y one second sorry
